Epstein funded research into the theory of evolution at Harvard University with a $30 million grant from Jeffrey Epstein. Why would a man like Jeffrey Epstein be so interested in promoting evolutionary theory? And why is it important to know the truth about such an important question?
00:00:00.000The shockwaves from the Epstein files are still reverberating around the world,
00:00:04.920and more than 3 million documents have been released. And as people all over the world
00:00:10.720pour over them, we are sure discover more and more about just how evil and corrupt the elites
00:00:17.480who rule us really are. But today, I want to draw your attention to two documents that risk
00:00:23.740getting lost amid all the other scandals. These documents concern massive sums of money that
00:00:31.260Jeffrey Epstein invested into research into the theory of evolution. According to one of the
00:00:40.380documents released, the Program for Evolutionary Dynamics at Harvard University was started with
00:00:48.560a $30 million grant from Jeffrey Epstein. Now, it closed down in 2021 after a review by Harvard
00:00:58.280into the extensive connections between Epstein and its director, Martin Nowak. But why would Jeffrey
00:01:06.580Epstein be so interested in promoting research into evolution? $30 million. Well, let's begin as
00:01:17.300you always do with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
00:01:23.060Ghost. Amen. Dear friends, what if I told you that for many proponents of evolution, it was more
00:01:32.000important to promote an ideology than to discover scientific truth? There is nothing surprising about
00:01:41.240a man like Jeffrey Epstein being interested in promoting evolution. The enemies of the church
00:01:48.200and of the Catholic moral order have always been zealously committed to propagating an explanation
00:01:57.580for human existence that does not involve God. This is because if God does not exist, and man is the
00:02:06.060product of an undirected process, there is no moral order in the world. That would mean that morality is
00:02:14.040just a human construct, and the rich and the powerful, like Jeffrey Epstein, can do whatever
00:02:20.760they want. Research into evolutionary theory may seem a noble goal after all. Isn't it important to know
00:02:29.840the truth about such an important question? Unfortunately, for many proponents of evolution,
00:02:36.560it is an ideology that must be defended at any cost, even if the evidence is weak and even if it's outright
00:02:46.240fraudulent. And it's always been this way. We recently passed the 100th anniversary of the famous 1925
00:02:56.900Scopes Monkey Trial, in which the state of Tennessee prosecuted a teacher for violating laws prohibiting
00:03:05.540the teaching of evolution. Scopes was represented by the famous trial lawyer Clarence Darrow, and his defense
00:03:15.380has long been presented as a heroic, a historic stand for enlightened science against Christian bigotry.
00:03:24.340How many people know that at the trial, an expert witness called by Darrow presented as evidence
00:03:34.820plaster casts, which were from the skull of a pre-human ancestor? Nope. They were in fact casts of
00:03:46.660a human skull, an aragutang jaw, and chimpanzee teeth. These were the remains known now as the Piltdown Man,
00:03:56.660supposedly the remains of an ancestor of man, but later discovered to be an intentional mix of human and
00:04:04.580animal bones. So, the most famous defense of evolutionary science, which still is to this day boasted about, was based on an
00:04:14.580outright fraud. While many genuine scientists had doubts about Piltdown Man from the start, others leapt at it, this discovery, which seemed to provide evidence for human evolution.
00:04:28.580Human evolution, the willingness to believe that which proves evolution, despite the weakness of the evidence, is a phenomenon we still see today.
00:04:38.580But first, let's take a step back and look at why so many people are committed to the idea that evolution must be true.
00:04:48.580Throughout the centuries, since the earliest days of the human race, men and women have looked at the wonders of creation
00:04:58.580and their hearts and minds have been drawn to God. As St. Paul wrote, the knowledge of God is clear to their minds.
00:05:06.580God Himself has made it clear to them. From the foundations of the world, men have caught sight of His invisible nature,
00:05:14.580His eternal power, and His divineness, as they are known through His creatures.
00:05:24.580When we look out into the world, its order, its beauty, the way everything works is one harmonious system, the most reasonable conclusion is that a supreme mind is responsible for it.
00:05:38.580This was obvious even to those thinkers of the Enlightenment who wanted to dispense with Christianity as much as possible.
00:05:46.580Most of them even still believed in the existence of one creator God because they were otherwise unable to explain the existence of the world they observed around them.
00:05:58.580It was only after Charles Darwin published his theory of evolution that a large number of people began to dispense with God altogether.
00:06:08.580Richard Dawkins, the most probably famous atheist ever, said that it was the theory of evolution that made it possible to be an, I quote,
00:06:22.580In this, he was correct. Evolution was the first time that there was an apparently coherent explanation for the diversity among life forms that did not require God.
00:06:34.580As the theory of evolution spread, belief in God weakened, and immorality of every kind increased.
00:06:41.580Evolution quickly became more than a scientific theory, it became an entire worldview.
00:06:48.580Evolutionary ideas came to dominate every field of knowledge.
00:06:54.580Economics, history, psychology, nothing escaped the idea that everything could be explained by processes of slow evolution,
00:07:03.580evolution over time, from the simple to the more complex.
00:07:08.580In the 20th century, Darwinism became the only accepted explanation for the origins and diversity of life.
00:07:16.580It became normative in schools, and those who put forward other views were mocked and ridiculed, driven from academia.
00:07:25.580But now, evolution faces an existential threat.
00:07:30.580Key arguments against evolution that, for decades now, even evolutionary biologists have recognized, are coming out.
00:07:40.580That the theory of natural selection, still taught in schools and promoted to the general public, it doesn't actually work.
00:07:47.580So modern advances in genetics, and our greater knowledge of the complexity of living organisms, has demonstrated that it can't possibly be true.
00:07:57.580And as the body of data that demonstrates this grows year by year, the political and scientific establishments are becoming more frantic to find new explanations that will keep the theory alive.
00:08:12.580And that's why they were desperate enough to accept tens of millions of dollars from a man like Jeffrey Epstein.
00:08:22.580To understand why Darwinism doesn't work, we'll need to become a little technical for a minute.
00:08:29.580Darwin's original theory was based on his observations that species can change over time.
00:08:38.580We can actually see it happening in the breeding of dogs or livestock.
00:08:43.580But what Darwin did was to extend these small changes, which were once known as adaptation and variation, or now might be called microevolution, to explain the origin of all species, including human beings.
00:08:59.580This latter process he calls what we call macroevolution.
00:09:04.580Darwin proposed that small changes could give a particular form an advantage over others, which would lead to them surviving and then transmitting the changed form to future generations.
00:09:18.580He called this process natural selection, and he thought it explained the origin of different species.
00:09:25.580Darwin knew nothing about genetics, but later generations saw the discovery of genetic mutations as a mechanism that would explain how natural selection happened.
00:09:38.580The more recent version of the theory, called Neo-Darwinism, proposes that change takes place through random mutations of genes which confer an advantage on an organism, making it more likely to survive.
00:09:52.580This is the version of evolution that dominates today, and which is imposed in classrooms, in university, lecture halls, all over the world.
00:10:03.580Yet, Neo-Darwinism is now being rejected by an increasing number of leading scientists, including evolutionary biologists.
00:10:13.580Because the more we learn about the human genome, the more impossible it is to accept.
00:10:20.580Put simply, since the epic-making discoveries of Crick and Watson in the 1950s, we know that genes contain a code.
00:10:31.580They contain information of extreme complexity.
00:10:36.580Even Bill Gates, now we know as an Epstein associate, has acknowledged himself that DNA is, and I quote, far more advanced than any software ever created.
00:10:49.580DNA contains the coding for every form of life and explains its extraordinary complexity and diversity.
00:10:58.580But only a minuscule fraction of all the possible sequences can produce the structures that sustain the life and function of organisms.
00:11:09.580Most changes to a sequence, even small ones, would cause it to stop functioning altogether.
00:11:18.580It is inconceivable that the extraordinary complexity of all genetic codes, of all the millions of species that exist on Earth,
00:11:26.580some estimate there are a hundred million different species, by the way.
00:11:31.580It's impossible that that could all be the product of random mutations that just happen to occur in the right order at the right time.
00:11:41.580Many geneticists point out that mutations are generally harmful, not helpful, and even that they tend toward simplicity in species, not toward complexity.
00:11:53.580Mathematicians, on the other hand, say that even if one presumes that it is genetically possible,
00:12:00.580there simply isn't enough time for the process to have occurred, given what we know about the frequency of mutations.
00:12:08.580So then there's the concept of irreducible complexity.
00:12:12.580Biologist Michael Behe has pointed out another major problem for neo-Darwinism.
00:12:18.580When Darwin devised his theory, little was known about cells because the microscopes of Darwin's day were very limited.
00:12:27.580But today we know even that cells are extremely complex and have many different molecular structures all operating together to sustain life
00:12:40.580and enable the cell to fulfill its particular function.
00:12:43.580Every single cell in the body is an amazing biological machine.
00:12:49.580It carries out a whole range of functions.
00:12:52.580They have even been compared to small cities with their own power plants and vehicles transporting molecules around the cell.
00:13:02.580Darwin's theory assumes evolution takes place by small stages, but complex machines can't be built that way.
00:13:11.580In order to work, complex machines require everything to be in place all at once.
00:13:17.580They are systems that you can't make any simpler without destroying their function.
00:13:22.580This is what Michael Behe calls irreducible complexity.
00:13:32.580Each part of a mousetrap must be there and at the same time for the mousetrap to function.
00:13:41.580If there's no spring or no piece to trap the animal, there's no mousetrap.
00:13:46.580Darwin proposes small changes that give an evolutionary advantage, he says.
00:13:53.580But the complex structures of a cell cannot be created by a sequence of genetic mutation
00:13:59.580because each small change would not confer an advantage.
00:14:04.580As scientist Stephen Meyer puts it, the intermediate stage confers no functional advantage.
00:14:13.580Therefore, there is nothing for natural selection to select on the way from the simple to the complex.
00:14:20.580Darwin himself wrote this, and I quote,
00:14:24.580If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed which could not possibly have been formed by numerous successive slight modifications,
00:14:36.580my theory would absolutely break down.
00:14:41.580There are indeed complex structures in the body of all living things which it makes no sense to propose were formed by numerous successive slight modifications.
00:14:53.580Let's look at one of the more powerful objections to Darwin's theory, this time one that he himself was aware of.
00:15:02.580If Darwin's theory is true, you would expect to see evidence in the fossil record of slow changes in the species taking place over time.
00:15:12.580You would find very similar fossils showing the intermediate stages of species.
00:15:18.580But this evidence simply doesn't exist.
00:15:22.580Instead, the fossil record shows big leaps, plants suddenly appear, animals suddenly appear, and so on.
00:15:31.580Darwin and the early evolutionists were aware of this problem, but hoped that over time these fossils would be found.
00:15:39.580But nearly 200 years later, it's clearer than ever that the fossil record provides no evidence of intermediate forms at all.
00:15:51.580In order to account for this problem, leading evolutionary biologist Stephen Jay Gould came up with the theory of punctuated equilibrium,
00:15:59.580which suggests evolution took place in a series of big leaps.
00:16:04.580The problem is that no explanation has ever been provided to explain how this could happen in light of what we know about genetics.
00:16:12.580Then there's biochemist Franklin Harold.
00:16:15.580He's a passionate believer in evolution, and he's already acknowledged that we must concede that there are presently no detailed Darwinian accounts of the evolution of any biochemical system,
00:16:27.580only a variety of wishful speculations.
00:16:31.580If this is the case, why are so many people so desperate to keep Darwinism alive?
00:16:39.580And why is it still enforced in our schools?
00:18:11.580The rediscovery of the necessity of God's existence would lead to a reassessment of our society's decision to reject the claims of the Catholic Church.
00:18:23.580To have received a revelation from God in Jesus Christ.
00:18:27.580This would lead to a return to Jesus Christ, to His Church, to His worship, and to His law.
00:18:35.580And that is why the evil elites who rule us will go to any length, even making it up, to keep the truth about evolution hidden.
00:18:46.580And that's why LifeSite News and Sign of the Cross Media will continue to share the truth far and wide.
00:18:54.580For LifeSite News and Sign of the Cross Media, I'm John Henry Weston.
