00:00:00.000 They're celebrating this blatant anti-Catholic bigotry and anti-Christian because they're not only mocking nuns, they're blaspheming our Lord, they're blaspheming our Lady.
00:00:09.780 This is a blatant attack on all true Christian believers. They're mocking and blaspheming what we hold sacred. And that's now celebrated in our culture.
00:00:18.820 Hey, my friends, have I got something great for you. Now, you might say Archbishop Salvatore Cordiglione needs no introduction, but in fact, he does.
00:00:33.960 Because you know what? I've been following the Archbishop since 2009, when he actually first became the Bishop of Oakland.
00:00:42.700 He was then in charge of about 550,000 Catholics. And he, in his inauguration homily, was so very pro-life. It was amazing.
00:00:54.720 He lamented that the home, the United States, to which his grandparents came from Sicily nearly 100 years before, had become less hospitable, especially to the unborn.
00:01:04.840 In addition to his obvious, you know, push for the right to life, Bishop Cordiglione shared with Pope Benedict a love for music.
00:01:14.700 He's a saxophone player, by the way, and also an appreciation for the traditional liturgy.
00:01:19.700 You know that he presided over a solemn high mass in the extraordinary form for Thomas Aquinas College back in the day,
00:01:27.440 and also offered a mass in the ordinary form, but in Latin, and facing the tabernacle.
00:01:34.920 And so, just an amazing prelate we've been following at LifeSite for a very long time.
00:01:40.180 He said in that inaugural homily, and I'll quote it for you, he said,
00:01:43.300 It seems our nation has become a much less welcoming place, even sometimes downright inhospitable.
00:01:48.880 He says,
00:01:51.020 Worse of all, our nation has become a land that shows itself all too often unwelcoming toward the most defenseless of our brothers and sisters,
00:01:59.980 who are not even given a chance to be born, and so are eliminated from society even before they see the light of day.
00:02:07.380 This inhospitality, he continued, this hostility, creates a tsunami of moral and physical violence,
00:02:15.900 which leaves countless damaged and destroyed lives in its wake.
00:02:20.560 Now, in 2012, he became the Archbishop of San Francisco.
00:02:26.480 Now, you know, San Francisco is one of the most homosexual places on the planet.
00:02:32.520 And yet, that didn't stop the Archbishop from speaking out against same-sex marriage,
00:02:38.760 the truth of Christ on marriage and the family.
00:02:41.640 He spoke at the March for Marriage in Washington, D.C. in that same year,
00:02:46.580 and it was, he gave a widely circulated interview to USA Today at the time.
00:02:53.060 And in that interview, he emphasized that marriage is ordered primarily toward the raising of children
00:02:59.260 by their mother and father, the basic building block of civilized society.
00:03:03.300 He said, and I quote,
00:03:03.840 End quote.
00:03:33.460 And, you know, for that kind of fidelity to Christ and the Church's truth on marriage and the family,
00:03:45.340 Archbishop Corleone was condemned, not only by the local politicians, but even by,
00:03:50.060 and get this, 80% of Catholic teachers protested his leadership.
00:03:53.880 In fact, wealthy Catholics in San Francisco put an ad in the paper, a full-page ad,
00:04:00.020 asking Pope Francis to remove him.
00:04:04.260 We at LifeSite did, you know, did support at the time.
00:04:07.360 But, I mean, this is crazy stuff.
00:04:09.260 So, that's the kind of pressure he was under.
00:04:12.080 And this is way back in 2013.
00:04:14.360 But, he continued, undaunted.
00:04:18.180 In 2018, he called, remember, this is when the USCCB was looking into sexual abuse of children by priests.
00:04:26.700 And, one of the things that came up, one of the studies that came up,
00:04:31.260 showed that there was a hundred percent correlation, not causal relation,
00:04:36.820 but correlation between homosexuality and pre-sexual abuse in this one study.
00:04:43.520 Now, most of the bishops didn't want anything to do with that.
00:04:46.440 They were like, no, no, no, we're fighting sexual abuse of children.
00:04:49.380 It's terrible, terrible.
00:04:50.200 It's equal.
00:04:50.720 It's all the same.
00:04:51.560 It's like, oh, no, there was a connection there, an obvious one.
00:04:55.780 But, no one was willing to call it out except Archbishop Corleone.
00:05:00.040 In fact, what he said to his brother bishops at the USCCB meeting,
00:05:04.920 he brought up the study.
00:05:06.360 It was published and released by the Ruth Institute.
00:05:08.940 And, it was by a Catholic priest, no less.
00:05:10.800 It was Father Paul Sullins.
00:05:12.180 He'd found a near hundred percent correlation between an increase of homosexual clergy
00:05:16.520 and an increase of sexual abuse of minors.
00:05:18.440 And so, Archbishop Corleone told his brother bishops this,
00:05:22.820 I think the worst thing we could do is to discredit this study so we don't have to deal
00:05:27.080 with it or ignore or deny this reality altogether.
00:05:31.080 I think, he added, I think we need to lean into it.
00:05:34.260 The correlation exists and we have to face it.
00:05:37.040 To flee from it would be to flee from the truth and to be perceived as fleeing from the truth.
00:05:42.760 Not only that, he's gone into all the controversial issues where so many people are silent.
00:05:48.800 Even in the face of what the trans ideology is doing to children with these puberty blockers,
00:05:54.120 Archbishop Corleone goes there.
00:05:56.680 He says that he slammed puberty blockers and other transgender procedures for children.
00:06:03.020 He called them experimental practices.
00:06:05.720 He called them terrible and an affront to the created order.
00:06:09.860 And these are his quotes.
00:06:10.600 He said there's so much scientific evidence of the harm this does to children,
00:06:15.000 giving them puberty blockers.
00:06:16.600 And not just in terms of their sexual development, but otherwise too.
00:06:20.920 And, he said, in other aspects of physical health.
00:06:24.100 It's terrible, he said.
00:06:25.780 But the other side has captured the narrative and many people have been duped into thinking this way.
00:06:31.640 It perplexes me.
00:06:32.640 I don't know how anyone could think that something that's so obvious as a boy is a boy and needs to grow into being a man can be a question.
00:06:43.660 Not only that, do you remember when, like, the whole church was in lockdown and it was so terrible for Catholics everywhere?
00:06:51.160 So few bishops did anything.
00:06:53.220 Well, Archbishop Corleone, he actually went public praising priests for clandestinely offering Mass during the COVID lockdowns.
00:07:01.740 Here is his quotes.
00:07:03.360 I know that many of you, he said, I know that many of you found ways to celebrate Mass for your people, even clandestinely.
00:07:10.860 I am grateful to you for that and proud of you for doing so.
00:07:17.900 Isn't that amazing?
00:07:19.340 Isn't that amazing?
00:07:20.860 Well, he did something else that's amazing, too.
00:07:23.600 That's created and caught all the headlines all over, not only America, but all over the world.
00:07:29.260 And that was with regard to Nancy Pelosi.
00:07:31.540 After trying, because you know where San Francisco is, that's the home of Nancy Pelosi.
00:07:36.500 And so, he was her bishop.
00:07:37.700 And there's a canon law, 915, that talks about denying Holy Communion to pro-abortion politicians.
00:07:44.420 Well, to Catholics who don't practice the faith and obstinately so.
00:07:48.520 And after trying for a decade to meet with Nancy Pelosi, to counsel her, to tell her that her stances are not aligned with the Catholic Church,
00:07:57.800 he, as her bishop, rightfully so, denied her Holy Communion and told all the priests in his diocese to refuse giving her Holy Communion.
00:08:08.160 Nancy Pelosi went from there, of course, to the Vatican.
00:08:10.880 We're at a very public mass with the Pope present.
00:08:13.720 She received Holy Communion nonetheless.
00:08:15.780 We also had that day the release of a document from the Pope called Desiderio Desideravi,
00:08:23.020 which seems to indicate, heretically, by the way, that the only thing needed for the reception of Holy Communion is faith.
00:08:29.500 But, I wanted to talk to Archbishop Cordelione about all of what's going on in the U.S. today,
00:08:35.920 because there is a great anti-Catholic persecution.
00:08:38.780 I wanted to ask him also about what's happening with Nancy Pelosi and all of that,
00:08:44.060 and if he regrets that decision because of all the pushback he received.
00:08:48.920 This is the John Henry Weston Show.
00:08:51.020 Stay tuned for this interview with Archbishop Salvatore Cordelione.
00:08:55.460 Hello, dear LifeSite viewers.
00:08:59.560 We are living in a moment of truth.
00:09:02.100 Each day, we encounter the evils of the woke agenda,
00:09:04.980 especially during this month of June,
00:09:06.840 as the woke corporations, they continue to infiltrate our homes via the media.
00:09:12.220 Now, this month, the mainstream media works overtime to spread false teaching
00:09:16.640 and make a mockery of traditional families and the Christian values we hold most dear.
00:09:21.900 But look around.
00:09:23.640 Look at the pushback against Bud Light and Target.
00:09:26.440 People are finally starting to wake up,
00:09:29.360 and they're actually looking.
00:09:31.300 They're looking for the clarity and answers.
00:09:33.880 So, this is our moment to give the world what they need so desperately, the truth.
00:09:40.780 We have a golden opportunity right now.
00:09:44.000 There's a surge of interest, and we need to jump on it
00:09:47.000 to give the public the truth on life, faith, family, and freedom that they so desperately need.
00:09:51.840 But you know what?
00:09:52.340 We can't do that without you.
00:09:53.960 We are in the midst of a quarterly summer fundraising campaign,
00:09:57.800 and we are in need of your support, both prayerful and financial.
00:10:01.460 We must raise a minimum of $500,000 before June 30th.
00:10:06.140 So, please donate at the link in the description below and be on the lookout,
00:10:10.300 as LifeSite will be on the road during this month of June,
00:10:14.460 heading to Los Angeles, to Chicago, to Washington, D.C.,
00:10:17.700 all to shed the light of truth during this critical time.
00:10:22.100 Thank you so much for your prayers and for your support and your dedication.
00:10:26.300 Let's take advantage of this moment, and by the grace of God,
00:10:29.860 may our efforts serve Him and His truth, and may that bear much fruit.
00:10:34.440 For LifeSite News, this is John Henry Weston.
00:10:36.560 May God bless you.
00:10:37.280 Archbishop Cordelian, it's so good to be with you.
00:10:41.960 Thank you.
00:10:42.720 If you wouldn't mind, we always start with the sign of the cross, if you could lead us.
00:10:46.540 In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
00:10:49.600 Amen.
00:10:50.160 Amen.
00:10:51.220 So, so good to be with you.
00:10:52.620 We are having an immense attack on the faith from America,
00:10:57.240 which, you know, should be all about freedom of religion.
00:11:00.720 You've recently had something happen there where you are in California,
00:11:03.960 in Marin County there.
00:11:04.860 The district attorney had decided basically to treat almost as nothing the destruction
00:11:11.220 of one of the statues on church property.
00:11:13.880 I believe that's where the police even just let all the destruction happen.
00:11:18.920 Tell us what happened there.
00:11:19.960 Yes, this was on what they now call Indigenous Peoples Day.
00:11:24.900 This was October of 2020.
00:11:27.060 And as you may recall, it was in the midst of all of those street protests.
00:11:30.680 And there was a lot of tearing down of statues and desecrating of monuments around the country.
00:11:35.300 And at the same time, this defund the police movement.
00:11:38.320 So they, we knew this statue was vulnerable.
00:11:42.140 It's on parish property.
00:11:43.480 It's one of the 21 missions that the Franciscans started up and down the California coast.
00:11:48.940 Not one of the ones personally founded by Sarah.
00:11:51.080 He founded the first nine.
00:11:52.540 But it was in that chain that he began and his successors continued.
00:11:56.940 It was on the parish property.
00:11:58.400 They knew it was vulnerable.
00:11:59.260 And so they, they protected it because they thought it might've been violated.
00:12:04.180 So they put padding around it and then sealed it with a very heavy plastic wrapping material
00:12:09.380 called vulcine.
00:12:10.380 So it's very thick and heavy and they seal it up very tight.
00:12:13.240 So the protesters knew what they were doing.
00:12:16.140 They came with the tools they needed to cut through all of that with the spray paint to paint
00:12:20.560 it red and then the tools they needed to tear it down.
00:12:23.880 The police were there.
00:12:25.300 They watched it happen.
00:12:26.540 They didn't intervene to stop it, even though the parish had an understanding with the police
00:12:31.880 department that if protesters trespassed onto the parish property, they would intervene
00:12:36.260 to stop it.
00:12:37.600 After it happened, they did arrest the ones who tore it down.
00:12:41.320 It was, I know anyone else has probably would have been called a hate crime, but we're Catholics.
00:12:46.020 So we can't expect the same fair treatment as everyone else.
00:12:49.500 But I was pleased that when the district attorney charged them with felony vandalism, which it
00:12:54.480 was, it was clearly felony vandalism.
00:12:56.000 It was caught on camera and everything.
00:12:58.320 And I understand, too, a district attorney has to charge, put the charge out that the
00:13:04.420 attorney will think will get a conviction.
00:13:07.300 So I, so that was, I was pleased that at least that had happened.
00:13:11.660 I didn't say anything more about it.
00:13:12.980 But then it took a long time for anything to happen.
00:13:16.020 And then four of the five perpetrators who were arrested asked for restorative justice,
00:13:21.080 which happens after there's been a conviction.
00:13:23.500 And then they try to bring about reconciliation between the criminal and the victims of the
00:13:27.680 crime.
00:13:28.360 When they suggested restorative justice, I suggested that we do it before a trial because I really
00:13:34.020 wanted to avoid a trial.
00:13:35.160 I would have preferred an honest reconciliation and restitution rather than a trial.
00:13:41.620 And so I asked, I'd suggest we do it before a trial, but there would have to be an apology
00:13:45.500 and a repudiation of what they did that recognized the harm it's done to us, that there be a
00:13:52.060 monetary restitution, that we have a credible historian present at the discussion.
00:13:56.780 So we're talking about the true historical facts, because there were three eras and people
00:14:02.180 conflate what happened in the different eras.
00:14:04.240 There was the mission era under the Spaniards, then the Mexican era, when the missions were
00:14:08.600 secularized and the Franciscans expelled, the schools closed and the Indians dispossessed
00:14:13.200 what they had.
00:14:14.300 And then the California or American period after that, when there was an actual genocide perpetrated
00:14:19.280 on the Indians.
00:14:19.900 So there were different abuses of different degrees of severity in the three eras.
00:14:24.060 And we needed to be clear about that.
00:14:26.820 So then the mediator for the restorative justice began to treat the defendants as if they were
00:14:35.420 the victims of the crime and the archdiocese, and I in particular, the bad guys, right?
00:14:40.460 And so the mediator was working only with the defendants.
00:14:43.680 Well, she claimed that they were getting them ready in order to bring them into a conversation,
00:14:48.700 but I was a problem.
00:14:50.180 It'd be better that I stay out of the process.
00:14:52.720 She would speak to the pastor and a parishioner at that parish who pretended as if he represented
00:14:59.680 the parishioners there, but he was speaking for himself.
00:15:02.040 He was on the side of the defendants and against me and pretending as if the parishioners were
00:15:06.880 on his side.
00:15:07.620 And so she speak with them, but not with us.
00:15:11.340 She would send updates to our legal counsel, but she wasn't bringing us involved in the
00:15:17.980 problem.
00:15:18.220 I was the problem.
00:15:19.500 And when I bent over backwards to be conciliatory.
00:15:22.280 So finally, when this dragged on and on and on, I could not trust that this would be an honest
00:15:27.640 process.
00:15:28.500 So I said, we're going to withdraw at this point.
00:15:31.220 And in fact, she misunderstood what that meant.
00:15:33.860 Oh, she was so happy that I wised up and was bowing out of the process.
00:15:37.920 She didn't understand.
00:15:38.980 I told her, I was very clear.
00:15:40.060 I represent the victims.
00:15:41.500 The pastor represents the victims who are the parishioners, but the victims are beyond
00:15:46.100 the parishioners.
00:15:47.140 It's all the Catholics in our archdiocese and even beyond.
00:15:49.300 I represent them, but she was so happy when I bowed out.
00:15:52.880 And then she realized, oh, we're stopping this altogether.
00:15:57.840 So then the DA, when she did this diversion tactic where it reduces the charges to a misdemeanor,
00:16:06.460 she said one of the reasons, well, two reasons, lack of a criminal history, but also the defendant's
00:16:13.180 participation in restorative justice.
00:16:16.260 When there was no restorative justice, the victims were left out.
00:16:19.300 How can you say there was restorative justice when the victims were left out?
00:16:22.920 And now they're left with just basically a slap on the wrist to apologize.
00:16:26.300 Still waiting to hear an apology.
00:16:27.740 This was about a month ago to do 50 hours of community service and listen to a lecture
00:16:33.560 by a historian.
00:16:34.900 So this is very large.
00:16:38.380 This is very disturbing because we see it's part of this whole movement of attacks on Catholic
00:16:44.140 church property and desecration of our sacred symbols going on all around the country.
00:16:48.500 There have been over 200 of these in the last couple of years, and they just keep getting
00:16:52.880 worse.
00:16:53.580 And, you know, it never stops there.
00:16:55.380 If it goes unchecked, it will continue to get worse.
00:16:58.360 And history teaches us that attacks on property, if they continue unchecked and are accepted
00:17:04.380 by the society and now in our society even celebrated, it eventually drifts into attacks
00:17:10.220 on persons.
00:17:10.780 So we have to prepare ourselves.
00:17:14.520 This is happening all over the country.
00:17:16.160 As you said, just this week, we're going to have the L.A. Dodgers give an award to what
00:17:24.840 has to be one of the most upfront anti-Catholic hate groups around.
00:17:29.540 They call themselves the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.
00:17:31.900 These trans men who dress up as nuns and look horrific and do it specifically to poke fun
00:17:40.240 at, to demean our sisters, the holy nuns, those women who have given themselves to Christ
00:17:47.940 as their brides, as his brides.
00:17:50.620 It's unreal.
00:17:53.280 Hey, friends.

00:19:28.860 I look forward to seeing you there.
00:19:30.660 God bless you.
00:19:31.180 Yes, I said it keeps getting worse, doesn't it?
00:19:35.280 Now, it's been tolerated for a long time and never stops there.
00:19:38.820 Now it's celebrated.
00:19:40.320 They're celebrating this blatant anti-Catholic bigotry and anti-Christian, because they're
00:19:45.240 not only mocking nuns, they're blaspheming our Lord, they're blaspheming our Lady.
00:19:49.800 This is a blatant attack on all true Christian believers.
00:19:53.220 They're mocking and blaspheming what we hold sacred.
00:19:55.700 And that's now celebrated in our culture.
00:19:59.020 So it's, I hope the alarm bells are going off in the minds of our peoples.
00:20:03.420 They see how serious the situation is.
00:20:06.720 We cannot afford to be complacent anymore.
00:20:09.520 Bishop Strickland will be there leading a procession of reparation.
00:20:13.400 And he will be, as I understand it, holding a relic of John Paul II, a first class relic.
00:20:18.780 I'll be there.
00:20:19.700 Hopefully there'll be many, many Catholics there as well.
00:20:22.900 Please pray for us if you could.
00:20:24.160 This is an effort that we're trying to do to show that we love the faith, that we love
00:20:28.980 our sisters, and that we won't tolerate this kind of anti-Catholic bigotry in America.
00:20:34.580 We need that kind of public witness.
00:20:37.100 And unfortunately, we can no longer appeal to conscience or even a basic sense of decency
00:20:44.540 anymore.
00:20:45.440 All that matters is the bottom line.
00:20:47.220 So I would agree with Bishop Barron that we need to vote with our feet and not give business
00:20:54.040 to those who are mocking us and desecrating what we hold sacred.
00:20:57.920 Amen to that.
00:20:58.440 Now, a lot of this actually comes from people who call themselves Catholic.
00:21:04.840 And that's one of the things that you've faced most bravely in America.
00:21:09.540 You have one of these types of people in your diocese, very public figure in Nancy Pelosi.
00:21:15.840 And you have worked with or tried to work with her to bring her to a correct understanding
00:21:21.540 of the Holy Eucharist and her stance on attacking life through abortion.
00:21:25.420 That's gone.
00:21:27.680 It's been very, very public.
00:21:29.340 You've been attacked in the media so much.
00:21:33.400 Where's your stance with that?
00:21:34.740 And do you wish that sort of never happened at this point?
00:21:36.820 Do you wish you never even went there?
00:21:38.180 Or what's your take on it?
00:21:41.180 I'm very grateful to God.
00:21:42.680 He brought me with a lot of hard work and taking it very spiritually as well with prayer
00:21:48.380 and fasting and masses and trying to do it as pastorally, sensitively.
00:21:53.060 And pastoral solicitude is possible.
00:21:56.640 Because of all of that, I believe, God got me to the point of absolute clarity and conscience
00:22:02.040 that I had to do this.
00:22:04.260 I had absolutely no doubt whatsoever when the moment came that I had to do it.
00:22:08.900 So I'm at peace.
00:22:10.100 I don't care about attacks in the media and all that.
00:22:12.220 Because I know there are also a lot of people who support this.
00:22:15.060 And I know there are a lot of people who continue to pray for her conversion.
00:22:18.820 So I don't regret it at all.
00:22:20.940 What I regret is the lack of opportunities to be able to gauge her in conversation about
00:22:26.820 this.
00:22:27.140 But you know what?
00:22:27.780 If you observe anyone who's on that side of the issue, when the hard questions come
00:22:32.800 up, they won't answer them.
00:22:34.860 They won't answer about what's going on inside of a pregnant woman's womb.
00:22:39.940 So we know they know they're wrong.
00:22:42.640 They know they're wrong.
00:22:44.100 They can't be at peace in their conscience because they know they're wrong because they
00:22:47.280 cannot give a simple, straightforward answer to a simple, straightforward question.
00:22:51.620 So we need to pray for their conversion and continue to witness to the sanctity of life,
00:22:56.620 sanctity of marriage, and family life as well.
00:22:59.420 One of the most difficult things probably to deal with was your brother bishops and others
00:23:04.160 in religion, in clergy, in hierarchy, who opposed you on this.
00:23:08.400 Um, how did that play out for you?
00:23:13.320 We do have disagreements on how to pastorally handle an issue such as this, not on the principle,
00:23:20.700 but on a pastoral application.
00:23:23.180 But I think we've been respectful toward each other to not publicly contradict each other's
00:23:29.420 decisions or lack of decisions in the matter.
00:23:32.020 We have to respect.
00:23:32.800 We have to trust each bishop is following his conscience and, and respect that.
00:23:37.520 And I think that's happened in my case as well.
00:23:39.680 There hasn't been any, uh, public criticism against me from brother bishops.
00:23:44.020 I think we all, we're all feeling the discomfort and sensitivity of this.
00:23:49.960 And we understand we have to respect each other's judgments in this area.
00:23:55.400 One of the last things I'd like to ask you about is just the cancel culture.
00:23:58.520 You might've heard, uh, LifeSite's been taken off YouTube over the last few years, not only
00:24:03.420 once, but three times.
00:24:04.740 They've removed probably nearly half a million subscribers from us.
00:24:08.480 Um, it's happening everywhere.
00:24:11.080 Catholics are being denied medical school because they're refusing to go along with abortion or
00:24:15.760 euthanasia.
00:24:16.900 What do you make of that?
00:24:18.500 And, uh, where America's at today?
00:24:23.300 You know, uh, secularism is its own form of religion.
00:24:27.420 It's a fundamentalist religion.
00:24:30.240 They don't, they won't allow conversation about topics when people disagree.
00:24:34.140 Look, look what's happening on elite, uh, campus, uh, campuses, elite universities, Stanford,
00:24:39.600 Yale, and so forth.
00:24:40.460 They don't, anyone comes on who speaks an opinion different from their own.
00:24:45.560 They shout them down and they're not allowed to speak.
00:24:48.380 Sometimes faculty or administrators side with the students and shutting down conversation on
00:24:53.640 an important topic with which the students have a different opinion than, than the speaker.
00:24:58.920 There's no, it's, that shows you it's a fundamentalist religion because it brokers no dissent.
00:25:04.780 It won't even engage in conversation with someone who, who dissents and they have all, all the
00:25:09.740 markings of a religion.
00:25:10.920 They have their infallible dogmas.
00:25:12.440 They have their sacraments.
00:25:13.640 They have their saints.
00:25:15.580 Uh, they have their rituals.
00:25:17.180 They have their index of forbidden books and, uh, they, they broker no dissent.
00:25:23.240 Uh, so, uh, we're heading into a time of, despite their rhetoric on the other side, very severe
00:25:30.580 intolerance.
00:25:31.940 We have to keep faith and reason alive now, not just faith, but reason as well.
00:25:38.260 Reason is going by the wayside.
00:25:40.060 We need to keep both alive because we know from our Catholic tradition, we know that we
00:25:46.260 cannot comprehend the truth without faith and reason, both, and they have to work together.
00:25:52.120 Each have to make their own unique contribution and serve as a check on the other, because
00:25:56.760 when one is removed, the other goes off in a direction that gets away from the truth.
00:26:01.520 They need to be working together.
00:26:03.080 We need to keep both faith and reason alive.
00:26:05.280 So we can keep that flame of learning and truth, uh, shining in the midst of this period
00:26:11.640 of darkness.
00:26:13.000 Archbishop Corleone, thank you so much.
00:26:15.160 You have the heart of a lion as your, as your name depicts.
00:26:18.380 How can people help you?
00:26:20.460 How can they support you?
00:26:21.920 And, uh, we are praying for you every day, but what can we do to help?
00:26:26.400 Thank you so much.
00:26:27.500 Well, keep, please keep the prayers coming.
00:26:29.560 Prayer does work, uh, in, in God's own way, but, uh, God's will.
00:26:33.720 Well, we're agents of God's will when we pray.
00:26:36.020 So please continue to pray to make your voices heard your, your, um, public, uh, demonstration
00:26:42.220 about, uh, the LA Dodger situation is one example, write op-eds, write letters to the
00:26:47.900 editor, uh, organize, try to get good people elected to school boards, local city councils.
00:26:53.480 And then up from there, we need good, honest, uh, politicians who will true, truly have the
00:26:58.680 common good at heart and care for the, those who are needy in a very genuine way.
00:27:03.000 So, so do participate in, in, in life, in the public life, uh, in a way that can help
00:27:10.500 build up a better respect for each other and a better culture of life.
00:27:15.940 Awesome.
00:27:16.120 And in conclusion, may I ask for your blessing for all of our LifeSite viewers and readers.
00:27:21.660 May the Lord bless you and keep you.
00:27:23.380 May he let his face shine upon you and be gracious to you.
00:27:25.920 May he look upon you kindly and grant you his peace, the Father and the Son and the Holy
00:27:30.300 Spirit.
00:27:31.100 Amen.
00:27:31.620 Amen.
00:27:31.940 Thank you, Archbishop Cordelione, so very much.
00:27:34.800 May God bless you and God bless all of you.
