00:04:22.340 My dad was a high school schoolteacher teaching civics and Latin and religion.
00:04:31.040 What makes men good Christians makes them good citizens.

00:04:38.480 And my parents gave me, by example,
00:04:45.320 praying the rosary every morning before school,
00:04:48.120 being an altar boy,

00:04:54.880 I was shooting baskets on that January day when Roe passed.
00:05:02.580 My dad drove in with his Volkswagen and said,

00:05:09.280 And I didn't quite understand what was the issue.

00:05:47.600 I grew, you know, this was in the early 70s and early 80s.

00:06:08.540 And so slowly, but surely, not in one big chunk,
00:06:13.900 but slowly, I became a questioner and then a dissenter

00:06:24.840 or through the Jesuits in college.

00:07:55.700 but I bought the lie that abortion was good for women.
