Is Pope Francis' New Pandemic Ecology Cause for Alarm?

00:00:00.000 In the old way we did the Mass for the pandemics, we prayed, yes, for health and safety and so on,
00:00:06.120 but also recognizing that man's sin is what has caused all the evil in the world.
00:00:13.200 The Vatican sort of rejoiced in the pandemic, despite people dying and whatnot.
00:00:20.880 They said it was just wonderful for the environment.

00:00:41.080 No, no, no, no, no. Woke in that other sense of the word.
00:00:44.500 Much like Tony Fauci kind of woke.

00:02:14.380 It couldn't be that Pope Francis was as mean and nasty as Tony Fauci, bashing people and just making fun of them.
00:02:25.420 Well, actually, yes.
00:02:27.340 Do you know that Pope Francis went after those who were complaining about vaccination,
00:02:37.160 forced vaccination, masking, forced masking, and everything else?
00:02:40.640 Do you know that Pope Francis went after them?
00:02:43.180 Have a listen.
00:02:45.820 This is John Henry Weston for LifeSite News, bringing you breaking news from Rome.
00:02:50.000 Pope Francis lashes out at lockdown protesters saying they'd never protest children lacking water.
00:02:56.280 In a rant by Pope Francis where he lets down his guard and allows his leftist colors to show more than in the past,
00:03:02.900 the Pope said of anti-lockdown protesters, quote,
00:03:06.660 you'll never find such people protesting the death of George Floyd or joining a demonstration
00:03:13.640 because there are shanty towns where children lack water or education, end quote.
00:03:19.440 But if that's not enough, the new cardinal Pope Francis just named,
00:03:23.740 D.C. Archbishop Wilton Gregory, has just said in an interview that he will not deny Joe Biden Holy Communion.
00:03:30.620 That's the same Joe Biden who is for abortion on demand to the tune of one million American children every year.
00:03:39.280 Speaking from Rome via Zoom with Catholic News Service, which is the news agency of the Catholic bishops,
00:03:45.480 Gregory said that Biden has been receiving communion for the last eight years,
00:03:49.540 and he said, quote,
00:03:50.620 quote, I'm not going to veer from that, end quote.
00:03:54.120 But the news from Pope Francis is quite explosive.
00:03:57.080 His comments come in a teaser for the Pope's new book-length interview with leftist Vatican journalist Austin Ivory.
00:04:05.080 The Pope lashes out at anti-lockdown protesters of whom he says, and I quote,
00:04:10.480 quote, you'll never find such people protesting the death of George Floyd
00:04:15.360 or joining a demonstration because there are shanty towns where children lack water or education
00:04:21.820 or because there are whole families who have lost their income, end quote.
00:04:28.080 Pope Francis also speaks of, quote,
00:04:30.740 quote, those who claim, for example, that being forced to wear a mask is an unwarranted imposition by the state, end quote.
00:04:42.100 He calls them, quote,
00:04:44.500 victims only in their own imagination, end quote.
00:04:49.120 And I actually went and made sure of this news because it's so explosive, so weird, you'd think,
00:04:55.060 oh, come on, that can't really be true.
00:04:56.540 But sure enough, it's right there in the book by Austin Ivory.
00:05:00.400 It's also covered by America Magazine, which is the Jesuit magazine,
00:05:06.080 with the editor to whom the Pope has often gone.
00:05:09.600 So there it is, folks.
00:05:12.140 But, you know, with all the virtue signaling that is painfully evident in the book,
00:05:17.420 Pope Francis himself is not all that concerned about mask-wearing in his own house,
00:05:23.960 nor having large gatherings.
00:05:26.460 Just yesterday in the Vatican, he met with NBA players and officials
00:05:31.300 from the National Basketball Players Association.
00:05:34.200 The meeting took place indoors without masks and also without social distancing,
00:05:41.240 as you can clearly and plainly see in this video of the event.
00:05:45.600 The Pope apparently requested the meeting in which they discussed NBA efforts to promote
00:05:51.820 racial equality and social justice.
00:05:54.360 Now, recall that the NBA painted Black Lives Matter on the court along their sideline
00:05:59.960 and donned equality and other sayings on their jerseys.
00:06:04.100 So, naturally, they did not need to worry about COVID regulations because,
00:06:09.420 as we all know, COVID knows COVID, coronavirus is able to distinguish between lockdown protests
00:06:15.800 and Black Lives Matter protests.
00:06:18.480 Whereas with lockdown protests, police need to intervene because of the danger of coronavirus.
00:06:24.020 With the Black Lives Matter protests, COVID knows.
00:06:28.280 But in all seriousness, what we have to focus on here is these taunts,
00:06:34.740 and unfortunately, I think there really are taunts by the Pope himself.
00:06:39.160 They're meant, well, perhaps not meant, but they can engender a lot of anger, a lot of frustration.
00:06:46.000 And we've got to really fight that.
00:06:48.940 They shouldn't engender anger in us.
00:06:51.500 They are made to anger us.
00:06:54.920 He's made similar comments in the past.
00:06:57.020 And you know what?
00:06:57.800 These comments that are very hurtful are, though, not the most serious errors of Pope Francis.
00:07:04.800 They're not the ones that really deserve our ire, our real, real concern.
00:07:10.060 But they will serve to wake up more people to the very dangerous thing that's going on with Pope Francis.
00:07:16.560 You have to remember, this is the real danger with the Pope is where he's gone off in terms of doctrine.
00:07:24.080 When he decides to allow for divorce, remarried communion, when he says things about homosexual civil unions,
00:07:32.000 when he says things about cohabitation, when he says things about contraception
00:07:36.180 and meets transgendered couples and says that they're married and happy,
00:07:40.980 those are the things that are truly dangerous for the faith.
00:07:44.540 But let's hope that these new comments, with all of the anger and the frustration that they generate,
00:07:51.260 might cause people to do what they really need to do.
00:07:54.260 Catholics need to be on our knees praying.
00:07:57.860 For what?
00:07:58.680 For the conversion of Pope Francis.
00:08:00.480 And yes, you heard me right.
00:08:01.440 Conversion of Pope Francis.
00:08:02.600 This is not only me who's saying that.
00:08:04.260 Bishop Athanasius Steider, probably one of the, not only most courageous bishops in the church today,
00:08:10.660 one of the most, nor most outspoken bishops, one of the most holy bishops in the church today,
00:08:16.320 who really wants to be at the service of the Pope.
00:08:19.580 He is being at the service of the Pope by pointing out the errors which the Pope has done,
00:08:26.140 has gone to the Pope himself directly over the Pachamama scandals and about the Abu Dhabi scandals,
00:08:31.720 and begging for the faithful to pray for the conversion of Pope Francis.
00:08:39.820 So let's do that.
00:08:41.240 Let's take these shots that we've received directly from the Pope for, remember,
00:08:47.360 he called all sorts of names about rigidity and all sorts of things against traditional Catholics
00:08:54.040 who want to hold on to tradition.
00:08:55.280 And so we can take all the shots, but we'll do so offering up all of that hurt.
00:09:03.920 And it is hurt.
00:09:04.540 It's hurtful when people say bad things about us, nasty things about us.
00:09:08.200 Offer that up in union with all of your prayers, the holy sacrifice of the mass for the conversion
00:09:13.620 of Pope Francis.
00:09:16.700 That, I guess, is not that surprising when you know where Pope Francis is coming from.
00:09:20.720 Well, Pope Francis is coming from a very strange place.
00:09:26.280 You know that right at the pandemic, when everything was being shut down,
00:09:31.180 and of course they shut down the masses, they actually did something else.
00:09:36.440 They did redo a mass for pandemics.
00:09:41.860 The redo, though, was really very weird.
00:09:45.340 The redo was all about removing any reference to God's wrath.
00:09:52.160 So it used to be, in the old way we did the mass for the pandemics, we prayed, yes, for
00:09:58.140 health and safety and so on, but also recognizing that man's sin is what has caused all the evil
00:10:05.800 in the world.
00:10:07.400 And so there was, Lord, turn away thy wrath from us.
00:10:11.620 But not anymore.
00:10:13.420 Have a look.
00:10:15.340 You might think that almost all of the Catholic churches of the world locked tight at this
00:10:21.500 most sacred time of the year, with no public Easter celebrations, even at the Vatican.
00:10:26.440 With donations from the church in free fall, and with much of the world in fear and dread,
00:10:31.240 the Pope would concentrate on calling the world to repentance to appease the just anger of God.
00:10:36.180 But, of course, you'd be way off base.
00:10:38.600 In fact, what did happen was quite the opposite.
00:10:41.480 The Vatican put out a new mass last week, changing the original mass for times of pestilence
00:10:48.520 to remove mention of God's wrath.
00:10:51.080 As LifeSite reported, the Congregation of Divine Worship, invoking the authority delegated to
00:10:55.920 it by Pope Francis, has issued a text for a special votive mass for pandemics that departs
00:11:02.160 from ancient liturgical tradition by omitting any reference to divine wrath and chastisement
00:11:07.480 for sins.
00:11:08.480 The new mass in time of pandemic was issued in response to popular requests during the
00:11:14.780 current COVID-19 crisis.
00:11:16.780 And unlike the traditional Latin mass, which includes a votive mass for the deliverance
00:11:20.820 from death in time of pestilence, the new mass in time of pandemic seeks the mercy of God,
00:11:26.320 asking for various forms of aid for those who are suffering from illness, those who have
00:11:31.020 already died, their families, medical staff, and government officials.
00:11:34.060 The traditional mass for deliverance from death in times of pestilence also asks for God's
00:11:39.960 mercy and aid, but in addition asks for the pardon for sins and speaks of the scourge of
00:11:45.840 thy wrath, speaking of course to the Lord.
00:11:49.060 The differences between the two are striking.
00:11:52.000 The entrance hymn of the traditional Latin mass, last issued in 1962, implores God, and
00:11:57.100 quote, to be mindful of thy covenant and to say to the destroying angel, now hold thy hand
00:12:04.100 and let not the land be made desolate and destroy not every living soul, end quote.
00:12:09.200 However, the new version gives a brief entrance antiphon that merely states, truly the Lord
00:12:15.480 has borne our infirmities and has carried our sin sorrows, end quote.
00:12:20.120 The special collect or the opening prayer of the traditional version states, quote,
00:12:25.840 O God, who does not want the death of the sinner, but that he should repent, welcome with
00:12:31.660 pardon thy people's return to thee, and so long as they are faithful in thy service, do
00:12:37.040 thou in thy clemency withdraw the scourge of thy wrath, through our Lord Jesus Christ thy Son.
00:12:42.900 The new version's collect instead asks for help, but without reference to sin or punishment.
00:12:48.560 And while all the world is distracted with the coronavirus, the liberal agenda being played
00:12:55.300 out in the Vatican has not slowed down one bit.
00:12:58.780 During Holy Week, Pope Francis appointed another commission to look into the possibility of women's
00:13:03.900 ordination as deacons.
00:13:05.860 On April 8th, the Vatican released a memo stating that the pontiff had decided, during a recent
00:13:11.540 audience granted to his eminence Cardinal Louis Ladaria, prefect of the Congregation of the
00:13:15.660 Doctrine of Faith, to appoint a new commission on the study of the female diaconate.
00:13:21.800 Unbelievable.
00:13:23.120 But beyond that, LifeSite reported April 2nd that Pope Francis, in a surprise move, dropped
00:13:28.040 the historic and essential title, Vicar of Christ, from the 2020 Pontifical Yearbook, the
00:13:33.360 Holy See's Annual Directory, relegating the title to a footnote, calling it a historical title.
00:13:39.000 While previous yearbooks listed the title Vicar of Christ and the name of the reigning Pope
00:13:44.660 under that title, this year's Annual Directory simply lists the name Jorge Mario Bergoglio,
00:13:52.980 the name of the man who became Pope Francis in 2013.
00:13:55.940 The title Vicar of Jesus Christ stems from the Holy Scripture, where Jesus granted St.
00:14:00.900 Peter the power of keys in the Church.
00:14:03.300 In fact, it gets worse.
00:14:07.920 I hate to say that, but it actually gets worse.
00:14:10.640 The Vatican sort of rejoiced in the pandemic, despite people dying and whatnot.
00:14:20.560 They said it was just wonderful for the environment.
00:14:22.760 After a lot of criticism, they took it away.
00:14:24.260 We've got that still in LifeSite for you to look at.
00:14:25.920 But Pope Francis was there himself, talking about how this is nothing to do with God.
00:14:33.940 It's nature angry with man.
00:14:36.040 And his solution, of course, is to deal with climate change.
00:14:39.640 Have a look.
00:14:42.120 Speaking of the Vatican's take on ecology, we got a very revealing glimpse into that last
00:14:48.320 week, too, as Vatican News unbelievably published an article by a Jesuit priest that looked at
00:14:55.340 the coronavirus positively because it had environmental benefits.
00:15:00.020 At LifeSite, you'll read that Vatican News, the Holy See's official news service, published
00:15:04.620 the article calling the deadly coronavirus an ally of planet Earth.
00:15:09.660 The article, written by Jesuit priest Father Benedict Mayaki, was entitled, quote,
00:15:14.900 Coronavirus, Earth's Unlikely Ally, and the secondary headline read, quote, The changes
00:15:20.980 in human behavior due to the COVID-19 crisis pandemic are yielding unintended benefits to
00:15:27.080 the planet, end quote.
00:15:29.420 The author, the priest, actually made no references to the tens of thousands of deaths attributed
00:15:34.640 to the virus, except to say that the pandemic is a global health concern.
00:15:38.880 However, there is a bright side, wrote Mayaki.
00:15:42.060 He said, Earth is healing itself as a result of the reduction in human activity.
00:15:47.760 He said, quote, In Italy, fish have returned to the canals in Venice.
00:15:51.380 Less tourism and water transport have allowed the murky waters to settle.
00:15:55.480 He wrote, I quote, again, Migratory birds, including swans, have been sighted gliding through
00:16:00.700 the city's waterways.
00:16:02.000 He also added, quote, The global reduction in air, land, and sea travel is yielding benefits
00:16:06.900 for the planet by reducing carbon emissions, he said.
00:16:09.940 Well, after much criticism, the Vatican actually pulled the article, but it was still up there.
00:16:17.080 And if you want to see the whole article, we, of course, saved it at LifeSite so you can
00:16:20.420 have a look.
00:16:21.720 The news article's statements follow, actually, Pope Francis's own statements along this very
00:16:28.180 line.
00:16:28.540 In my show on October 31st, Assessing the Pope's Responsibility in the Chastisement of Coronavirus,
00:16:34.400 I spoke of the Pope saying that coronavirus was not God's punishment, but nature was having
00:16:38.860 a fit because we failed to take care of the environment.
00:16:41.900 Since then, several cardinals and bishops have condemned such an approach, but the Pope
00:16:46.540 last week doubled down on that very notion.
00:16:49.760 He told the tablet in an interview that, quote,
00:16:52.160 We did not respond to the partial catastrophes.
00:16:55.600 Who now speaks of the fires in Australia or remembers the 18 months ago a boat could
00:17:00.340 cross the North Pole because the glaciers had melted?
00:17:03.760 Who speaks now of the floods?
00:17:06.300 End quote, the Pope said.
00:17:07.820 And he added this, quote,
00:17:09.800 I don't know if these are the revenge of nature, but they are certainly nature's responses.
00:17:15.540 End quote.
00:17:15.980 That was Pope Francis saying again, doubling down on this notion that coronavirus is sort
00:17:21.660 of nature's response to our not caring for the planet.
00:17:25.160 Unbelievable.
00:17:27.880 Just a quick note before we return.

00:17:50.340 And now, back to the video.
00:17:53.640 You know, there's an old saying in the scriptures.
00:17:57.460 Jesus, when he is confronted by people, he's going, story goes this way.
00:18:02.940 Jesus is going into Jerusalem on the donkey for the last time.
00:18:06.600 And the people are yelling, Hosanna to the son of David.
00:18:10.180 They're putting down their cloaks and branches from trees so that the donkey that steps by
00:18:14.700 them, they can take home the cloak and revere it.
00:18:17.440 He was criticized by some of the Jews at the time who said, hey, why don't you shut them
00:18:21.960 up?
00:18:22.320 And you know what Jesus said?
00:18:23.520 If they would not do it, the rocks themselves would shout out.
00:18:27.940 When Pope Francis and it appeared all the leaders of the church were not recognizing the need
00:18:36.120 to call out to God for the pandemic, rejoicing in the pandemic for doing population control
00:18:41.080 or whatever the heck they were doing.
00:18:43.900 Guess who?
00:18:45.260 Not so much a rock star, but a star nonetheless, really did speak out in the way the bishops,
00:18:52.140 the pope should have.
00:18:53.180 Have a listen to this.
00:18:54.040 Christians and non-Christians alike are turning to the Bible and religion as the crisis continues,
00:19:01.400 the study found.
00:19:02.840 And if that's not enough, famed wrestler and movie star Hulk Hogan encouraged his 2.2 million
00:19:10.720 Twitter followers to do penance.
00:19:13.380 Believe it or not, if it's like our Lord's thing when he entered into the city of Jerusalem,
00:19:19.180 if the people wouldn't shout Hosanna, then the rocks themselves would shout.
00:19:22.960 Well, in this case, it's Hulk Hogan, not quite a rock star, but definitely a movie star and
00:19:29.540 television star, calling people to repentance.
00:19:33.280 It's unbelievable.
00:19:34.360 LifeSite reported that Hogan called the coronavirus, and I quote,
00:19:38.460 one of the most powerful gifts to our human race.
00:19:41.440 As powerful as it gets here on earth, thank you God, he said.
00:19:45.200 He added an image of 2 Chronicles 7.13-14 to the tweet.
00:19:48.980 That Bible verse reads that thus,
00:19:52.060 The famous wrestler reiterated the call to penance later in the week, saying,
00:20:10.560 Word up, you can handle the truth, my brother.
00:20:13.780 In three short months, the message reads, and that's the message of Hulk Hogan reads,
00:20:18.640 In three short months, just as he, with a capital H, he did with the plagues of Egypt,
00:20:24.660 God has taken away everything we worship.
00:20:27.140 God said, you want to worship athletes?
00:20:28.960 I will shut down the stadiums.
00:20:30.440 You want to worship musicians?
00:20:31.880 I will shut down civic centers.
00:20:33.640 You want to worship actors?
00:20:34.960 I will shut down theaters.
00:20:36.400 You want to worship money?
00:20:37.480 I will shut down the economy and collapse the stock market.
00:20:40.620 You don't want to go to church and worship me?
00:20:42.940 Well, I will make it where you can't go to church.
00:20:46.280 He says, this is Hulk Hogan quoting from Hulk Hogan, the famous wrestler.
00:20:51.140 If my people who are called by my name, and of course, he's quoting the scripture there,
00:20:55.900 will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways,
00:21:00.160 then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
00:21:04.520 Hulk Hogan concludes, maybe we don't need a vaccine.
00:21:09.420 Maybe we need to take this time of isolation from the distractions of the world and have
00:21:14.640 a personal revival where we focus on the only thing in the world that really matters,
00:21:20.760 Jesus.
00:21:22.360 Even after all the masses were canceled at Easter, whatever happened?
00:21:28.580 Christmas.
00:21:29.060 The Pope wasn't going to cancel masses at Christmas.
00:21:32.740 Oh, yes, he was.
00:21:35.100 Watch.
00:21:37.700 Pope Francis has canceled public Christmas celebrations at the Vatican this year,
00:21:42.340 just after having participated himself in a huge Roman ecumenical extravaganza.
00:21:47.520 I'm John Henry Weston for LifeSite News.
00:21:50.060 In the name of the Father, Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
00:21:52.660 Catholic News Agency is reporting that it is seen a letter from the Vatican's Secretary of State
00:21:57.380 noting that Pope Francis' Christmas liturgies at the Vatican will be offered
00:22:01.520 without public participation this year.
00:22:04.020 The letter sent by the Secretary of State to Vatican embassies
00:22:08.100 said that Christmas Mass would be celebrated, quote,
00:22:11.440 in a private form without the presence of members of the diplomatic corps.
00:22:17.320 Now, members of the diplomatic corps usually attend those mass celebrations.
00:22:22.300 The letter said the liturgies will be streamed online.
00:22:25.860 This letter, believe it or not, was sent the very day that the Vatican hosted an award ceremony
00:22:32.280 in the Vatican Gardens for that controversial filmmaker who did the film Francesco,
00:22:37.400 which has now caused all this hoopla around the Catholic world over the Pope's push for homosexual civil unions.
00:22:44.280 Moreover, it came just two days after the Pope took part in that Rome ecumenical gathering
00:22:50.280 with Buddhists and Sikhs and Muslims and other religious leaders.
00:22:53.700 The international meeting of Prayer for Peace was actually called, quote,
00:22:58.620 No One is Saved Alone, Peace and Fraternity, and it took place on October the 20th.
00:23:03.980 The two halves of the event were simultaneous prayer services in various locations near Rome's Piazza del Campadillo.
00:23:12.700 And Pope Francis presided first over the Christian prayer service in the Basilica of St. Mary of the Altar of Heaven.
00:23:21.040 Now, Archbishop Vigano actually predicted that this would be the case.
00:23:25.420 I guess he heard some kind of a rumor.
00:23:26.760 And he gave a commentary on it to LifeSite News that I encourage you to go and read the full thing.
00:23:32.780 But I'm going to give you here the highlights of what he said.
00:23:35.400 He said, and I quote,
00:23:36.640 The Holy See wants to replicate the unfortunate lockdown of the past months,
00:23:40.980 which deprived the faithful of the Mass and the sacraments even on Easter, end quote.
00:23:45.880 So, Archbishop Vigano added, quote,
00:23:49.720 This action of the Pope, that is, he said, would confirm the Holy Seas, that is the Vatican's,
00:23:55.320 intention to support the pandemic media narrative.
00:23:59.020 Yet, according to recent statements made by Italy's Higher Institute of Health,
00:24:02.980 the pandemic has a mortality rate equal to the normal seasonal flu, end quote.
00:24:08.240 Now, Archbishop Vigano also says that this latest news has left the faithful bewildered,
00:24:15.060 scandalized, and abandoned by a hierarchy that found a way to gather in the Basilica of Santa Maria in Araceli,
00:24:21.340 that's the one we mentioned earlier,
00:24:24.900 for a syncretistic rite presided by Jorge Mario Bergoglio,
00:24:29.020 but which does not hesitate to suspend the celebration of Holy Mass
00:24:34.020 on the night in which the Church celebrates the birth of the Savior.
00:24:38.440 End quote.
00:24:39.280 Very powerful quotes from Archbishop Vigano.
00:24:42.020 I'd encourage you to go to LifeSite News for the full story.
00:24:46.360 But, we can't hate him.
00:24:48.680 We've still got to pray for him.
00:24:51.200 Pray for his conversion.
00:24:53.640 This is the John Henry Weston Show.
00:24:55.740 God bless you.
