00:01:01.100 which has escalated into one of the most shocking wars of our time,
00:01:05.980 five perfectly red heifers, cows that is, that have not borne calves,
00:01:12.020 arrived in Israel from Texas.
00:01:14.720 This was so controversial that it quickly prompted Hamas outlets to respond,
00:01:20.200 calling it an attempt to, quote,
00:01:23.020 Judaize the holy mosques, end quote,
00:01:25.900 and claiming that, and I quote,
00:01:28.100 Al-Aqsa, that is the mosque on the Temple Mount,
00:01:30.480 is in danger, end quote.
00:01:32.720 So, the Al-Aqsa mosque is the third holiest site in the Islamic religion.
00:01:39.600 Soon after that, Hamas launched its October 7th attack,
00:01:43.060 named Operation Al-Aqsa Flood,
00:01:46.880 after the mosque, named the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
00:01:51.380 Hamas's Abu Obedias actually cited these red heifers,
00:01:57.180 these cows from Texas,
00:01:58.880 as a reason for the attack,
00:02:00.480 calling their arrival an act of,
00:02:03.040 and I quote,
00:02:03.960 aggression against the feelings of an entire nation
00:02:07.080 in the heart of its Arab identity, end quote,
00:02:11.020 as well as serious disrespect for Muhammad.
00:02:14.880 Now, the link was actually denied by Rabbi Azaira Ariel,
00:02:21.160 head of the Temple Institute's Red Heifer Project.
00:02:23.540 He said, and I quote,
00:02:24.940 Hamas does not need reasons to kill Jews.
00:02:27.640 It only needs excuses.
00:02:30.020 So, how could someone interpret the arrival of five red cows
00:02:34.640 as an act of aggression?
00:02:37.020 Why would these cows be perceived as a threat
00:02:40.320 to the Islamic holy site?
00:02:42.100 And how could it be cited, even if insincerely,
00:02:45.060 as a justification for the attack on Israel?
00:02:49.680 The answer to those questions lies
00:02:52.100 in the role many believe these cows will play
00:02:55.820 in the rebuilding of the Jerusalem temple
00:02:59.040 and what might follow.
00:03:01.600 Now, you have to remember,
00:03:03.860 the Al-Aqsa Mosque is sitting on the site
00:03:07.360 of the Jerusalem temple,
00:03:09.760 which to rebuild would require bringing down the mosque.
00:03:13.740 So, our Lord Jesus Christ prophesied
00:03:17.280 that the second Jerusalem temple,
00:03:19.540 which was standing in his day,
00:03:21.700 would be destroyed.
00:03:23.340 And so it was in the year 70 AD
00:03:25.760 by the future Roman Emperor Titus.
00:03:28.920 Now, ever since then,
00:03:31.880 rebuilding this temple has been a key goal
00:03:35.260 for the Jewish people.
00:03:36.880 The Temple Institute, based in Israel,
00:03:38.840 was founded by Rabbi Yisrael Ariel,
00:03:41.880 and now his son, Rabbi Azaria Ariel,
00:03:46.320 leads its research department.
00:03:48.560 The Institute's own website says
00:03:50.340 that while some temple ceremonies are possible
00:03:53.960 in a state of ritual impurity,
00:03:56.220 a ceremony involving a red heifer
00:03:58.600 is necessary for its full restoration.
00:04:02.060 And I quote from their website,
00:04:04.360 the complete renewing of all aspects
00:04:06.720 of the Holy Temple service
00:04:07.920 and the revival of complete ritual purity
00:04:12.220 among Jews is contingent upon
00:04:14.800 the preparation of the red heifer.
00:04:17.800 So, a red cow is what we're talking about.
00:04:20.500 The website continues, I quote,
00:04:22.120 The preparation of the red heifer
00:04:24.840 is a precondition for the restitution
00:04:28.340 of the complete service in the Holy Temple,
00:04:31.540 end quote.
00:04:32.700 So, what is this ceremony?
00:04:35.980 It's mentioned, actually,
00:04:37.280 in the Old Testament in Numbers 19.
00:04:39.940 The Bible explains that a perfectly red heifer,
00:04:42.940 a red cow,
00:04:44.000 which is extremely rare, by the way,
00:04:46.220 and has been hard to find,
00:04:48.460 is to be killed and burnt
00:04:50.360 and its ashes to be mixed with water.
00:04:53.800 The mixture,
00:04:55.060 the purpose of the whole ceremony,
00:04:57.080 is the only thing able to remove
00:04:59.240 the ritual impurity incurred
00:05:01.900 from contact with the dead.
00:05:04.460 This purification is key
00:05:06.080 for the Jewish priesthood
00:05:07.600 and for the sacrificial cult.
00:05:09.780 That means the sacrificial offering.

00:05:29.540 almost everyone in Israel
00:05:31.060 is considered to be ritually impure
00:05:33.380 because of contact with the dead,
00:05:35.260 even simply by being in a hospital.

00:05:40.060 because the ceremony
00:05:41.300 has to be completed by a priest
00:05:43.200 who is himself ritually pure.
00:05:45.720 Although Rabbi Ariel believes

00:05:49.640 actually many, many men like this,
00:05:52.620 at least he said so,
00:05:54.040 finding them may be comparable
00:05:55.800 to finding the red heifers themselves.

00:06:03.480 and online speculations
00:06:05.100 about the heifers
00:06:06.140 and rebuilding the temple
00:06:07.300 are barking up the wrong tree.
