Summary

Tucker Carlson has been quoted as saying that he is interested in becoming a Catholic. What does this have to do with conspiracy theories about the Catholic Church? And why does it matter? On this episode of The John Henry Weston Show, host J.H.W. discusses all that and more.

00:00:00.000 If you wouldn't mind, give us, and by us I mean Catholics and non-Catholics alike, I'm not Catholic, but I'm interested.
00:00:06.740 I'm not Catholic, but interested.
00:00:09.580 That's what Tucker Carlson said recently in his interview with Cardinal Miller.
00:00:13.660 And as these things go, this has been reported as Carlson being interested in becoming a Catholic.
00:00:21.040 We're going to discuss all that and more on this episode of The John Henry Weston Show.
00:00:25.160 Stay tuned.
00:00:30.000 Let's begin, as we always do, with the Son of the Cross.
00:00:35.640 In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
00:00:40.080 Unfortunately, he wasn't saying, I'm not a Catholic, but I'm interested in becoming a Catholic.
00:00:46.480 He was saying he was interested as an external observer in the direction of the Catholic Church in our day,
00:00:54.700 and as well as Francis' leaning towards progressive politics.
00:00:58.200 But this has prompted me to send a personal message to Tucker and to explain why becoming a Catholic would be the fulfillment of everything that he has indeed been saying.
00:01:11.260 Tucker, it's great that you say you're interested in where the Catholic Church is going.
00:01:16.540 Even, naturally speaking, the Church is a significant institution in the world today.
00:01:23.220 But I'm here to say that there are no external observers to the Church of Christ.
00:01:28.820 Their Church doesn't want observers or even admirers.
00:01:32.600 She wants sons, whom the Church can raise into warriors for Christ.
00:01:37.940 As Christ said, he that is not with me is against me.
00:01:44.020 Sooner or later, each one of us realizes that we must make a definitive choice.
00:01:49.220 Are we with him or against him?
00:01:52.300 So, who is against Christ?
00:01:55.140 You already know who is against Christ, of course.
00:01:58.800 In 2023, you made the following comments on the insidious eternal forces that lie behind the global push to normalize abortion.
00:02:08.240 Let's take a listen.
00:02:09.960 Outside forces are acting on people at all times throughout history in every culture on the planet to convince people that if they sacrifice their children, they will be happy and safe.
00:02:21.360 And that's exactly what this is.
00:02:23.060 This is a religious right.
00:02:25.540 Now they're saying abortion is itself a pathway to joy.
00:02:30.100 Really?
00:02:31.720 So, this is not a political debate.
00:02:34.260 This is a spiritual battle.
00:02:35.640 There is no other conclusion.
00:02:38.240 Now, Tucker, you didn't say who it was that you thought was behind this global push for abortion.
00:02:46.840 But it's clear what you were implying in that it was a steady, unwavering, demonic influence across all time and all continents.
00:02:56.480 In fact, just a few months ago, you mentioned that you, quote, believe in aliens in the sense that you think that there are spiritual beings.
00:03:07.340 Let's listen again to what you said.
00:03:08.720 It's my personal belief, based on a fair amount of evidence, that they're not aliens.
00:03:14.360 They've always been here.
00:03:16.360 And I do think it's spiritual.
00:03:18.180 That's my view.
00:03:19.540 And again, it's not provable, but based on the evidence, I think.
00:03:24.180 And later on, you said this.
00:03:26.580 Let's take a look.
00:03:27.400 But one thing I know for a dead certain fact, having seen it, is that there is good and evil that we are being acted upon at all times.
00:03:35.160 And I think every person can feel that in himself.
00:03:37.520 I mean, there are moments when you are moved to do things that are much better than you actually are, and that are also more evil and destructive than you actually are.
00:03:46.460 You are subject to forces from outside yourself.
00:03:49.540 That is absolutely true.
00:03:50.820 Now, we can argue about what they are.
00:03:51.860 There are forces that are not human, that do exist in a spiritual realm of some kind, that we cannot see.
00:03:59.660 A lot of people mocked you for saying this, but we didn't.
00:04:03.720 Your belief in spiritual forces, perhaps posing as something else, chimes in precisely with the Catholic faith.
00:04:11.620 Russell Brand told you that we've all been on to something for years, and you agreed with what he was saying.
00:04:19.400 Let's take a look at that again.
00:04:20.440 The reason I mentioned at the beginning of this rather corroming answer, figures that are broadly condemned as conspiracy theorists, but then aren't we all these days?
00:04:29.700 The reason I mentioned them is because they talk specifically about ideas to do with spirituality, morality and ethics.
00:04:37.060 And it's hard for someone like me to consider that the goals of this global establishment are anything other than power, finance, dominion.
00:04:45.220 But when you talk about this loathing of nature, whether that's human nature or botany or the great expanse, it's difficult to think that there isn't something dark.
00:04:55.440 Yes!
00:04:56.120 At its core.
00:04:56.840 Because there's no rational explanation for that.
00:05:01.420 How could you want to despoil nature?
00:05:04.480 How could you hate human nature?
00:05:06.780 How could you want to hurt people?
00:05:08.860 Those are not rational responses to anything.
00:05:12.020 I mean, there's got to be.
00:05:12.880 I mean, clearly what we're watching are the fruits of spiritual war.
00:05:17.040 If you can think of a better explanation, let me know.
00:05:19.440 Certainly the solution seems to me to be spiritual.
00:05:21.820 We couldn't have put it better.
00:05:23.820 Clearly what we're watching are the fruits of a spiritual war.
00:05:27.900 You can think, if you can think of a better explanation, let me know.
00:05:33.040 And as Brand said after, certainly the solution seems to me to be spiritual.
00:05:38.680 Tucker, about these spiritual forces, which you have recognized act upon us for evil.
00:05:44.560 We Catholics know what they are.
00:05:46.380 We know how they act and why.
00:05:48.880 We know what they fear.
00:05:50.740 And we know how to fight them.
00:05:53.300 They are devils, Tucker.
00:05:55.680 Fallen angels.
00:05:57.200 They are terrible ancient spirits whose intelligence and power far outstrips anything we could imagine.
00:06:04.480 Like you said, what they do seems irrational because it is guided by an overarching hatred.
00:06:11.540 Hatred of God.
00:06:12.480 Hatred of us.
00:06:13.140 The creatures whom he has redeemed.
00:06:15.740 And hatred for the divine plan ordering our world toward this redemption and return to God.
00:06:23.240 That hatred.
00:06:24.520 That hatred, too, is more powerful than anything else we could imagine.
00:06:29.080 This isn't some superstitious idea of monsters and goblins.
00:06:33.760 Even the best natural philosophers have realized that spiritual or purely intellectual beings are logically possible and, in fact, do exist and act in the world.
00:06:45.540 Isn't it funny people say that we make up the idea of demons to frighten children, and yet the agents of these forces now try to frighten us into disbelief in demons for fear of being thought childish?
00:07:01.480 What do these devils fear?
00:07:05.940 They fear the cross of Christ, his holy sacraments, and all that is holy.
00:07:10.940 They fear she, who is most holy, Mary, the Blessed Virgin, Mother of Christ, the most humble of all creatures.
00:07:18.540 They fear St. Michael the Archangel.
00:07:20.700 They are venerated and loved in the Roman Catholic Church.
00:07:26.000 And the devils fear the priests and exorcists of the Catholic Church, who have told us these things so many times.
00:07:34.340 I could even tell you, another time perhaps, about the victories that the saints and holy men have won over devils in visible form.
00:07:43.420 Saints like St. Anthony, St. Justina, St. Cyprian, a former servant of the devil, by the way.
00:07:49.580 Or more modern saints like St. John Vianney, or St. Gemma Golgani, or St. Padre Pio, Padre Pio for now.
00:07:56.480 So you suggested, in one of these talks, that the best way to respond to this demonic threat to the world is to emulate the courage of St. Paul the Apostle.
00:08:08.100 Let's see what you said again.
00:08:09.300 But the two qualities that really jump out of the story of Paul's life, first and most obviously, is the courage.
00:08:19.380 This is like the bravest guy ever.
00:08:21.340 There's not a letter he wrote where he didn't have a sword hanging over his neck.
00:08:25.380 He expected at any moment to be murdered, and I think the consensus among historians is, in the end he was.
00:08:31.360 He was murdered, as were all of his friends.
00:08:33.560 But he lived with the certainty that he was going to be killed for his beliefs every day.
00:08:39.720 And he was totally unbothered by it, completely.
00:08:42.720 He was just moving as fast as he could in the time allotted.
00:08:46.040 He didn't know how much he had, but he just kept going, but he was never afraid.
00:08:49.260 With all due respect, courage is not enough.
00:08:53.280 We need instead to think about why St. Paul was unafraid.
00:08:57.220 What do you think gave him that courage?
00:09:00.720 It's not just because he believed or because he realized that there is obvious superhuman evil in the world and set himself against it.
00:09:10.320 In whatever form the assault on our world comes, none of us can stand against the devils unless we stand in Christ,
00:09:17.800 unless united to him as members of his body.
00:09:22.040 St. Paul was unafraid because he knew that he had upon him the armor of Christ.
00:09:29.740 Look, the devils are more intelligent than the whole of humanity put together.
00:09:34.300 They're stronger than all the armies or all the weaponry we can ever muster.
00:09:39.520 St. Paul himself says,
00:09:41.060 It's because St. Paul knew that he stood in the church.
00:10:11.060 What he called the pillar and bulwark of truth, the one church of which he said, and I quote,
00:10:18.600 One body and one spirit, as you are called in one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of us all, he said in Ephesians 4.
00:10:30.840 So, one, one, one, one, he tells us that there is one body which has one faith, and that one body is the Roman Catholic Church.
00:10:42.540 If his body is one, then it is not a collection of disagreeing bodies who, as he says just a few verses down, are tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine.
00:10:57.660 Nope.
00:10:59.960 The early church father, St. Cyprian, followed St. Paul in writing of the church as the spouse of Christ.
00:11:06.460 Here's what he said, and I quote,
00:11:07.460 The spouse of Christ cannot be adulterous.
00:11:10.700 She is uncorrupted and pure.
00:11:13.220 She knows one home.
00:11:14.540 She guards with chaste modesty the sanctity of one bed.
00:11:19.160 She keeps us for God.
00:11:21.320 She appoints the sons whom she has borne for the kingdom.
00:11:25.200 Whoever is separated from the church and is joined to an adulteress is separated from the promises of the church, nor can he who forsakes the church of Christ attain to the rewards of Christ.
00:11:37.980 He is a stranger.
00:11:39.260 He is profane.
00:11:40.660 He is an enemy.
00:11:41.800 He can no longer have God for his father, who has not the church for his mother.
00:11:45.640 He continued,
00:11:46.340 If anyone could escape who was outside of the Ark of Noah, then he also may escape who shall be outside the church, end quote.
00:11:56.560 So, it is from this one body, the Roman Catholic Church, that all other Christian groups have departed.
00:12:03.500 And they remain unable to fully stand in the evil day until they return to the unity, the oneness of the Catholic Church.
00:12:12.120 I know these words sound harsh, but this isn't about triumphalism.
00:12:16.620 It's about saying, come in.
00:12:19.340 Come home.
00:12:21.000 Join us in the one place that will prepare you for the battle that you're saying you want to fight.
00:12:28.120 I said to you before, the church does not want observers or even admirers.
00:12:32.980 She wants sons whom she can raise into warriors for Christ.
00:12:37.360 That includes the ladies too, by the way.
00:12:39.960 Regardless of our sex, we are called to share in the sonship of Christ as members of his body.
00:12:46.460 God has one son and one son only, Jesus Christ.
00:12:50.780 If we are to be sons and daughters of God, it is in and through Christ's sonship.
00:12:58.620 So, yes.
00:12:59.960 But the word members has another meaning, by the way.
00:13:03.500 That of parts of one body, limbs, so and so on.
00:13:07.580 We all know that before his conversion, St. Paul, or Saul, as he was then known, was a deadly persecutor of Christians.
00:13:16.640 He oversaw the first Christian martyrdom.
00:13:19.440 And as the Bible tells us, quote,
00:13:21.500 Saul made havoc of the church entering in from house to house and dragging away men, women, and committed them to prison, end quote.
00:13:31.500 But, just as he could do to any of the globalist leaders advancing the demonic agenda today,
00:13:40.280 Christ knocked him from his horse and blinded him and rebuked him, saying,
00:13:46.260 Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?
00:13:50.820 No, Saul didn't know what he was talking about.
00:13:54.180 And so, he asked, who are you, Lord?
00:13:58.740 And the answer came, I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.
00:14:04.260 Did you catch that?
00:14:05.240 Jesus identifies himself with the persecuted Christians.
00:14:09.000 This is not some vague moral solidarity.
00:14:12.260 It's a statement of profound truth that the church is the body of Christ, such that her members are his members.
00:14:20.220 So, St. Paul got the message and taught in all his letters.
00:14:26.120 He later wrote to the Corinthians, saying, and I quote,
00:14:29.500 For as the body is one and has many members, means limbs and so on,
00:14:34.540 and all the members of the body, whereas they are many, are yet one body, so also is Christ.
00:14:41.680 For in one spirit were we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, whether bond or free,
00:14:48.920 and in one spirit we have all been made to drink.
00:14:52.700 For the body also is not one member, but many.
00:14:56.740 End quote.
00:14:57.780 St. Augustine expressed all this in the following idea.
00:15:02.780 Christ is the head of the church.
00:15:04.340 The church is the body of Christ.
00:15:06.180 The whole Christ is both the head and the body.
00:15:08.740 So, Tucker Carlson, Russell Brand, John Henry Weston, none of us can hope to stand in the evil day
00:15:18.660 and persevere in the face of powerful spiritual evil or in the face of these superhuman assaults on civilization
00:15:26.520 unless we stand clothed and robed in Christ himself,
00:15:31.640 for which abiding in his one church is absolutely necessary.
00:15:36.280 No genius that you have or Russell Brand had could get us there.
00:15:43.000 Jesus expressed the idea of abiding in him very clearly during his time on earth.
00:15:50.320 In some of his last words to his apostles before he died,
00:15:54.180 he showed just how closely we are to associate ourselves with him.
00:15:58.740 He said, and I quote,
00:15:59.480 Abide in me and I in you, as the branch cannot bear fruit itself unless it abide in the vine,
00:16:05.260 so neither can you unless you abide in me.
00:16:08.460 I am the vine, you are the branches.
00:16:11.040 He that abides in me and I in him, the same bears much fruit,
00:16:15.420 for without me you can do nothing.
00:16:18.760 If anyone does not abide in me, he shall be cast out as a branch and shall wither,
00:16:25.820 and they shall gather him up and cast him into the fire and burn.
00:16:31.980 Did you catch that?
00:16:34.460 We have to be associated with Jesus just as a branch is to the vine,
00:16:39.320 living the same life, being nourished with the same vine.
00:16:42.860 Where and how can we be grafted onto him in that way so as to receive the divine sap of his life?
00:16:52.900 Did you catch that?
00:16:55.380 He said we must abide in him.
00:16:58.760 We all talk of God living within us, and that's right and proper,
00:17:03.940 but we also have to live in him, and how do we do that?
00:17:08.220 Well, most importantly, did you catch what he said?
00:17:12.860 Without me, you can do nothing.
00:17:16.760 Nothing.
00:17:18.000 Not just a little bit, or I can win a few victories, I can get a few things done.
00:17:23.060 Nothing.
00:17:25.380 Let's remember also the other side of this coin, as St. Paul said,
00:17:29.420 I can do all things in him who strengthens me, from Philippians 4.
00:17:34.920 How do we think that we're going to even enter a spiritual battle, let alone win one, without Christ?
00:17:45.620 Not only that, he said that if we do not abide in him,
00:17:51.200 that we are like broken branches that wither away and will be burnt up in fire.
00:17:56.300 Outside of this church, we are outside of Christ.
00:18:00.240 And outside of this church and Christ, the various spiritual arms and weapons are blunt and ineffectual.
00:18:09.000 This is why the Council of Florence taught, and I quote,
00:18:11.960 Only to those remaining in the church, and that's only to those remaining in her, but they're referencing the church,
00:18:21.300 are the sacraments of the church of benefit for salvation.
00:18:25.300 And to do fastings, almsgiving, and other functions of piety and exercises of Christian service, produce eternal reward.
00:18:32.980 And that no one, whatever almsgiving he has practiced, even if he has shed blood for the name of Christ,
00:18:41.360 can be saved unless he has remained in the bosom and unity of the Catholic Church.
00:18:46.300 End quote.
00:18:47.540 This is why it's so important for anyone and everyone who recognizes what is happening in our world
00:18:54.180 to enter and remain with that one church which Christ founded,
00:18:58.640 against which the proud gates of hell cannot and will not prevail.
00:19:04.320 There are many people in history who've come to realize that God exists and that Christianity is true,
00:19:10.440 not because of arguments or goodness, but because of seeing the evil that's in this world.
00:19:16.620 Tucker, you have been blessed by God to see the nature of the conflict in which we find ourselves,
00:19:23.380 and you are being blessed again now,
00:19:25.260 even if by an unworthy messenger like myself,
00:19:29.160 to be called to enter the Catholic Church.
00:19:31.740 And I'm sure many of your friends have got to you before and told you this.
00:19:35.660 You need to join the winning side.
00:19:38.500 It's in the Catholic Church that the old, flawed self will be washed away
00:19:43.460 and elevated to the supernatural order in baptism,
00:19:46.800 in which you will be made into a soldier of Christ.
00:19:49.980 In the true Catholic Sacrament of Confirmation,
00:19:53.460 in which you will be picked up and strengthened each time you fall,
00:19:57.400 and in which you will be fed and nourished by Christ's body in the Holy Eucharist.
00:20:03.640 By this Holy Eucharist,
00:20:05.540 you will be made more and more a part of that body,
00:20:08.880 more and more able to stand in that evil day as a member of the whole Christ,
00:20:14.180 clad in the virtue and power of Jesus himself.
00:20:16.760 And in this way, and only in this way,
00:20:20.360 will you be able to fight in this spiritual war,
00:20:23.180 to fight and win.
00:20:25.100 As St. Peter says in the Bible,
00:20:26.900 outside of Noah's Ark,
00:20:28.860 all were lost in the flood.
00:20:30.680 But today, in the New Covenant,
00:20:33.140 the Ark is not only open to Noah and his family,
00:20:36.940 and a few of each animal.
00:20:39.520 So to you, Tucker,
00:20:40.900 and all others standing outside the Roman Catholic Church,
00:20:43.980 wondering what to do about the rain,
00:20:45.640 we say,
00:20:47.740 come in.
00:20:49.100 Come in.
00:20:50.380 Come into the only place
00:20:52.360 that will prepare you for the spiritual battles
00:20:54.880 that you're saying that you want to fight.
00:20:58.280 For Life State News, this is John Henry Weston.
00:21:01.200 And may God bless you.
00:21:01.880 For Life State News, this is John Henry Weston.
