00:01:56.000 when Pope Francis went after bishops in Africa who dared to endorse anti-sodomy laws.
00:02:02.500 He basically said we have to fight such laws.
00:02:06.980 That came as a shock to many people.
00:02:10.040 It was spread over all of the media.
00:02:13.520 You shouldn't have been surprised at all.
00:02:15.780 Let me give you a little bit of a review.
00:02:19.100 I won't even start with the who am I to judge,
00:02:23.000 which really launched it off right at the beginning of papacy,
00:02:26.060 but let's start well down the road.
00:02:29.480 When Pope Francis came to America for the first time,
00:02:33.380 if you recall, it was in 2015, and he met a lady, Kim Davis.
00:02:40.500 That's actually tied to the situation of Vigano.
00:02:45.460 But I need you to see the details firsthand to understand the significance.

00:02:51.220 It is true that several times the Pope has said marriage should be between one man and one woman.
00:03:00.560 However, he's also confused matters gravely,
00:03:04.080 especially when he came to the United States in 2015.
00:03:07.560 If you recall, at the time of his visit,
00:03:10.200 Kim Davis, a Kentucky County clerk, had been in the news.
00:03:14.780 She, after a life of failed marriages, embraced Christ and stood for his truth.
00:03:21.800 She refused to allow her signature on marriage licenses for homosexual couples.
00:03:28.000 In fact, she was threatened with jail if she would not comply with a court order.
00:03:32.420 That court order, of course, rejected her right to conscientious objection.
00:03:36.540 But heroically holding to her true beliefs,
00:03:38.940 she, a mother of four children, was jailed for five days.
00:03:42.080 When she did meet with the Pope when he was here,
00:03:45.400 Davis was advised that it was a private meeting and not to be made public until after the Pope left the United States.
00:03:53.180 She was also forbidden to take photos of the meeting.
00:03:56.420 And after the Pope's departure, her lawyer told the media about the meeting and there was much press interest.
00:04:02.860 In fact, initially, the Vatican refused to confirm that the meeting had even taken place.
00:04:08.900 And with Davis not able to furnish proof because she was forbidden to take photos,
00:04:14.120 and the Vatican, of course, refused to release photos,
00:04:16.920 the media began to suggest she was lying.
00:04:19.860 A couple of days later, when the Vatican finally did affirm that the meeting took place,
00:04:24.480 things actually got worse.
00:04:25.600 It was October 2nd, and then-Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi issued a statement saying
00:04:31.680 that a brief meeting did occur, but that it, quote,
00:04:35.680 should not be considered a form of support of her position in all of its particular and complex aspects, end quote.
00:04:44.100 Father Lombardi noted that the only real audience granted by the Pope at the nunciature
00:04:50.220 was with one of his former students and his family, end quote.
00:04:56.440 And who was that student and his family?
00:04:59.860 Well, the student was Yayo Grassi, an openly gay Argentinian man who was accompanied, yes,
00:05:05.680 by his mother and his sister, but also his male lover, Iwan Bagus.
00:05:11.140 At this meeting, not only were photos allowed, but also video.
00:05:14.740 And here, you can watch in this video, you can see Pope Francis greeting Yayo Grassi on the left,
00:05:20.880 and then also embracing his homosexual partner.
00:05:23.740 As I've said many times, we at LifeSite would love it.
00:05:29.940 Pope Francis would, like Christ, visit and speak with sinners with love.
00:05:34.740 But of course, he must also be like Christ in calling sinners to the fullness of truth, to repentance.
00:05:41.600 When Christ saved, for instance, the woman caught in adultery from stoning,
00:05:45.640 he reminded her, go and sin no more, out of love.
00:05:51.320 But unfortunately, we haven't seen that with the Holy Father and Yayo Grassi, for instance,
00:05:56.480 who has known the Pope some 40 years.
00:05:59.000 He's been in his active homosexual relationship with Bagus for 20 years.
00:06:03.840 As Grassi explained on CNN, speaking of the Pope's knowledge of his homosexual relationship,
00:06:08.700 and I quote, he has never been judgmental.
00:06:11.460 He has never said anything negative, end quote.
00:06:15.860 If that wasn't bad enough, get this.
00:06:19.280 That very situation leads right into Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano,
00:06:25.780 because it was Vigano who brought in Kim Davis, as you just heard there, to see the Pope.

00:06:35.740 Pope Francis made it known to a survivor of sexual abuse that he was talking to,
00:06:41.460 that he actually fired Vigano as nuncio to the United States because of that.

00:06:50.020 So Horowitz reported that Chilean abuse survivor Juan Carlos Cruz
00:06:55.140 alleged the Pope told him in a private meeting that he didn't know who Davis was.
00:07:00.660 And this is the quote from the Pope.
00:07:02.220 As recorded by the New York Times, as explained by this abuse survivor that the Pope talked to.
00:07:07.760 This is, again, Pope Francis saying this.
00:07:10.520 I did not know who that woman was, and he snuck her in to say hello to me.
00:07:16.000 He, the he being referred there, is Vigano, by the way.
00:07:18.720 And of course, they made a whole publicity out of it.
00:07:21.160 And I was horrified, and I fired that nuncio.
00:07:24.620 So those were the words of Pope Francis, as recalled by Juan Carlos Cruz to the New York Times.
00:07:31.080 Now, get this.
00:07:32.220 People said, oh, you know, Juan Carlos Cruz, who's that?
00:07:36.300 He's some guy that was abused and that the Pope spoke to.
00:07:40.980 And who knows if the Pope said that to him?
00:07:43.060 He's a nobody, whatever.
00:07:44.780 Well, no, he's not a nobody, actually.
00:07:47.880 Pope Francis actually appointed him to the Vatican Department dealing with sexual abuse.

00:07:55.460 He made a very public statement in the New York Times about Pope Francis's cancellation of Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano.

00:08:04.720 One of the things that's very hard to comprehend is how far down this agenda Pope Francis actually is.
00:08:11.880 Okay, so you see right away out of the gate this stuff about, you know, same-sex marriage and not wanting to offend homosexuals.

00:09:19.220 Pope Francis' praise came in light of the nun opening a new complex of 12 small apartments
00:09:25.400 dedicated solely to housing men claiming to be women and their sexual partners.
00:09:30.800 In his communication with Sister Cremona, the Pope referred to her transgender clients as, quote-unquote, girls.
00:09:40.120 Dear Monica, God who did not go to the seminary or study theology will repay you abundantly, said the Pope.
00:09:47.020 I pray for you and your girls, end quote.
00:09:50.060 It's not the first time Pope Francis has shown a stance opposite what the Catholic Church traditionally teaches
00:09:58.020 about the rejection of one's God-given sexual identity.
00:10:02.500 On October 2nd, 2016, Pope Francis referred to a woman who underwent a sex change operation as a man.
00:10:09.900 He referred to her having married another woman and admitted to inviting them to the Vatican in 2015,
00:10:18.040 describing the couple as happy.
00:10:20.600 And clarifying his use of pronouns, the Pope said that he, that was her, but is he.
00:10:27.120 As with most of his controversial remarks, the statements came during an in-flight press scrum.
00:10:32.940 On October 2nd, 2016, on his return flight from his papal visit to Georgia and Azerbaijan,
00:10:39.860 the Pope referred to a woman who, quote, felt like a man, but, quote, was physically a young woman, end quote.
00:10:48.100 After a sex change surgery in sometime between her 20s and 40, Pope Francis said he got married.
00:10:55.940 And also he said, quote, he wrote me a letter saying that for him it would be a consolation to come see me with his wife.
00:11:06.120 The Pope also said, quote, I received them and they were very happy.
00:11:11.860 And you can add to that the fact that the Pope has openly promoted one of the biggest promoters of homosexuality
00:11:18.860 and transgenderism in the Catholic Church in America, Father James Martin.
00:11:23.060 The Pope named Father Martin to the Pontifical Council for Social Communications.
00:11:28.580 The Pope had Martin speak at the Vatican's World Meeting of Families
00:11:32.080 and also met with him personally in an audience,
00:11:35.480 the photos of which were used by Father Martin to attest to the Pope supporting his agenda,
00:11:41.180 which has garnered opposition from several U.S. bishops.
00:11:45.680 The issues surrounding transgenderism are complex,
00:11:49.500 and today more so as society is pushing hard on this agenda
00:11:54.740 and fiercely claiming that those who question it in any way are purveyors of hatred.
00:12:01.680 We have gone so far as to criminalize, at least in some states and nations,
00:12:06.920 psychological help for those wishing to normalize their sexual desires.
00:12:11.800 The Catholic Church's teaching on the matter of sexuality are, however, very clear,
00:12:16.600 and they cannot change.
00:12:18.920 The teaching was actually succinctly summarized last year in a document by various high-ranking prelates,
00:12:24.960 including Cardinal Raymond Burke and Bishop Athanasius Schneider.
00:12:29.680 Called the Declaration of Truths, the document said,
00:12:32.980 It is a rebellion and grave sin for a man to, quote,
00:12:37.220 attempt to become a woman, end quote.
00:12:40.200 It said,
00:12:40.880 The male and female sexes, man and woman, are biological realities created by the wise will of God.
00:12:48.300 It is therefore a rebellion against natural and divine law,
00:12:52.580 and a grave sin that a man may attempt to become a woman by mutilating himself,
00:12:57.500 or even by simply declaring himself to be such,
00:13:00.480 or that a woman may in like manner attempt to become a man,
00:13:04.220 or to hold the civil authority,
00:13:07.640 has the duty or right to act as if such things were or may be possible and legitimate.
00:13:15.800 So those are quotes, again, from the Declaration of Truths by Cardinal Burke,
00:13:20.520 Bishop Schneider, and other high-ranking prelates.
00:13:22.880 In the year 2000, the Vatican's Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith issued confidential guidance
00:13:28.860 to bishops, noting that sex change procedures do not alter a person's gender.
00:13:34.820 The document instructed bishops never to alter the sex listed in the parish baptismal records,
00:13:40.380 and said that Catholics who have undergone sex change procedures are not eligible to marry,
00:13:45.560 because, in the eyes of the Church, they would be marrying someone of the same sex.
00:13:52.520 The Church's traditional stance on sexual teaching,
00:13:56.280 while it is characterized by the secular world as unfeeling, even cruel,
00:14:01.640 in actual fact speaks to the reality of human sexuality,
00:14:05.560 and is truly the only loving and caring stance.
00:14:08.660 The falsehood of supporting lifestyles which lead to physical, mental, and spiritual harm
00:14:14.340 may seem caring on the surface,
00:14:16.640 but in reality, they deprive individuals afflicted with sexual dysfunction
00:14:21.240 the care and the help they need and deserve.
00:14:24.800 The best spokesmen for the truth on these difficult issues
00:14:28.180 are actually those who have gone through sex change operations
00:14:32.100 and have testified to the devastation that has resulted.
00:14:35.920 Walt Heyer is a man who lived as a woman for eight years.
00:14:41.140 He mutilated himself, actually, to appear as a woman.
00:14:45.800 His testimony must be heard as it encapsulates the reality of sex change
00:14:51.980 and the harm of affirmation of the rejection of one's God-given sex.
00:14:57.780 Affirming children into a cross-gender identity is child abuse.

00:15:50.140 Those, we cannot ignore how devastating it is to young people

00:16:17.620 but destroyed because I was affirmed and told how cute I looked, how wonderful it was,

00:16:27.800 all you need to do is have hormones and reassignment surgery.
00:16:32.580 That was in 1981.
00:16:34.900 I underwent the surgery in 1983 because they said,
00:16:38.920 this is the treatment for gender confusion.

00:16:50.780 Cutting off body parts and filling someone with hormones

00:18:16.860 But even though the church's teaching is clear on the matter,
00:18:21.440 the confusion being caused by Sister Cremona,

00:18:26.140 and even the Pope himself is very grave indeed.

00:18:31.620 there is the societal pressure,
00:18:33.440 even in the form of laws that are crushing Catholics
00:18:36.100 and all who would adhere to morality on these very issues.

00:18:42.140 and in the case of Sister Cremona,
00:18:44.660 they are exacerbated by the fact that
00:18:46.760 she is rescuing these individuals
00:18:48.780 from sometimes dire poverty
00:18:50.620 and giving them clean living quarters.

00:18:55.920 if Sister Cremona did that like a Mother Teresa
00:18:59.140 without validating these people's sexual sin.
