A Vatican document forbidding the blessing of same-sex unions has shocked many Catholics, including Pope Francis, who famously said, "If someone is gay and searches for the Lord, and has goodwill, who am I to judge?" Isn't this the same Pope who, while in America in 2015, welcomed his student s gay lover in a meeting and embraced him? Isn t this same Pope, who boasted on the papal plane in 2016 that he'd welcomed a transgender couple to the Vatican? He got photographed with them and described them as married and happy.

00:00:00.000 How is it that Pope Francis' Vatican has released a document forbidding the blessing of homosexual unions?
00:00:06.560 Isn't this the same Pope who famously said,
00:00:09.480 If someone is gay and searches for the Lord and has goodwill, who am I to judge? 0.70
00:00:14.340 Isn't this the same Pope who approved of civil unions for homosexual couples both in Argentina while bishop there and just recently as Pope in a film?

00:00:55.580 Didn't the Pope also appoint Martin to speak at the Vatican's World Meeting of Families and appoint Martin to the Vatican's Secretariat for Communications?
00:01:04.080 Isn't this the same Pope who made Blaise Cupich a cardinal after Cupich endorsed giving Holy Communion to homosexual couples?
00:01:11.760 So how could Pope Francis' Vatican do this?
00:01:15.740 That is what we're talking about on this episode of The John Henry Weston Show.
00:01:19.540 Stay tuned.

00:02:03.020 Let's begin, as we always do, with the sign of the cross.
00:02:05.680 In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
00:02:09.560 There was a big news day Monday from Rome with the release of a Vatican document forbidding the blessing of homosexual unions. 0.74
00:02:18.520 From what I said in my intro, it's not surprising that the world was really shocked at the statement,
00:02:24.120 which for Catholics really was nothing more than more evidence of the sad reality that such a statement was actually needed in the first place.
00:02:31.860 The famous homosexual musician Elton John was quick to tweet out about the Vatican's hypocrisy. 0.92
00:02:39.540 And I quote, 0.99
00:02:40.900 How can the Vatican refuse to bless gay marriages because they are sin, 1.00
00:02:45.260 yet happily make profit from investing millions in Rocketman,
00:02:49.400 a film which celebrates my finding happiness from my marriage to David?
00:02:55.200 Hashtag hypocrisy.
00:02:56.500 The intrepid Catholic commentator Matt Archbold had sympathy for Elton's charge of hypocrisy over at his blog Creative Minority Report.
00:03:06.540 Archbold recalled how the Vatican, quote,
00:03:08.840 had taken money that had been donated for the poor and invested in other ventures,
00:03:13.760 including Hollywood movies such as Rocketman, end quote.
00:03:17.540 Quoting from newspaper, he noted that the Vatican's Secretariat of State
00:03:21.400 reportedly contributed £850,000 towards the biopic,
00:03:26.800 which is roughly 3% of the film's budget, end quote.
00:03:30.440 Well, I have to admit that I'm a little suspicious when I see something good coming out of the Vatican these days,
00:03:37.240 but I always remain hopeful for signs of conversion from Pope Francis,
00:03:41.260 for which I pray each and every day.
00:03:43.740 So, when the document for bidding blessings on homosexual relationships came out,
00:03:48.600 I read it very carefully.
00:03:50.300 And this one line caught my eye that made me uncomfortable.
00:03:55.380 It was this line speaking about homosexual relationships, and I quote,
00:03:58.960 The presence in such relationships of positive elements,
00:04:03.980 which are in themselves to be valued and appreciated,
00:04:09.420 cannot justify these relationships and render them legitimate objects of an ecclesial blessing,
00:04:14.920 since the positive elements exist within the context of a union not ordered to the Creator's plan, end quote.
00:04:22.840 What can be positive about these relationships when they ultimately lead to hell?
00:04:27.820 While the overall statement was good and praiseworthy,
00:04:31.900 this line could be dangerous, I thought.
00:04:35.480 And I have to admit, I suspected an agenda here.
00:04:39.520 But it's not without reason.
00:04:41.360 I recall vividly the midterm report of the Extraordinary Synod back in 2014 in Rome.
00:04:46.540 It contained some similar language.
00:04:48.860 It said, and I quote,
00:04:49.960 Homosexuals have gifts and qualities to offer the Christian community, end quote.
00:04:54.580 It also asked,
00:04:56.140 Are our communities capable of providing them accepting and welcoming,
00:05:03.060 or excuse me,
00:05:03.840 accepting and valuing their sexual orientation without compromising Catholic doctrine on the family and matrimony?
00:05:10.140 At the Vatican press conference that I was at at the time in 2014,
00:05:16.620 when the document was released,
00:05:18.860 it was Michael Voris of Church Militant who challenged the wording.
00:05:23.100 And he really did so beautifully.
00:05:24.640 Here's what Michael said at the time.
00:05:25.940 He said,
00:05:26.180 Are the Synod Fathers proposing that gifts and qualities flow from the sexual orientation of homosexuality?
00:05:33.920 He added,
00:05:35.020 Is the Synod proposing that there is something innate in homosexual orientation
00:05:40.120 that transcends and uplifts the Catholic Church, the Christian community?
00:05:44.000 And if so, what would those particular gifts be?
00:05:48.720 Only Michael can put it like that.
00:05:50.600 So, could this new Vatican document,
00:05:54.040 which is seemingly so good and accepted by so many of the good people in the Church,
00:05:59.620 be a Trojan horse, 0.75
00:06:01.300 bringing with it the eventual destruction of the very teaching it seems to uphold?
00:06:06.040 Well, there's definitely precedent for that in Pope Francis's history.
00:06:09.920 Do you remember when Pope Francis, in one of his public remarks,
00:06:13.780 totally contradicted the Church's teaching against contraception?
00:06:17.500 And then it was confirmed as such by the Vatican press office.
00:06:21.500 It is an incident that we should actually look at,
00:06:24.680 and it might be important to consider with this new Vatican document.
00:06:28.660 As he was seemingly overturning the Church's teaching on contraception,
00:06:33.180 Pope Francis did it in the midst of his strongest ever condemnation of abortion.
00:06:39.060 He said abortion is a crime,
00:06:41.460 and compared abortionists to the mafia.
00:06:43.800 I'll quote it for you directly.
00:06:44.760 He said, I quote,
00:06:45.720 Abortion is not the lesser of two evils.
00:06:47.960 It is a crime.
00:06:48.920 It is to throw someone out in order to save another.
00:06:52.480 That's what the mafia does. 0.99
00:06:54.260 It is a crime,
00:06:55.580 an absolute evil.
00:06:57.480 End quote.
00:06:58.600 Wow.
00:06:59.580 Awesome.
00:07:00.460 The statement was praised by the pro-life groups everywhere.
00:07:03.060 But in that very same answer,
00:07:07.180 he threw the teaching against contraception of the,
00:07:10.960 you know,
00:07:11.400 the teaching of the Church against contraception under the bus.
00:07:14.280 He said contraception was the lesser of evils,
00:07:17.100 and it could be used in cases where there was a risk of Zika virus transmission.
00:07:21.440 And the Vatican press secretary actually confirmed that the Pope was indeed approving of the use,
00:07:27.780 and I'll quote it for you,
00:07:29.380 and I quote,
00:07:30.300 the possibility of taking recourse to contraception or condoms in cases of emergency or special situations.
00:07:37.220 End quote.
00:07:38.300 That was directly from Father Lombardi,
00:07:40.780 who at the time was the Vatican press secretary,
00:07:42.660 clarifying that the Pope actually said what he said.
00:07:46.460 Unbelievable.
00:07:46.880 But, you know,
00:07:50.060 there is now some evidence that this new Vatican document is a Trojan horse.
00:07:56.700 As soldiers for the anti-Church,
00:07:59.560 most pushing the LGBT and leftist agenda in the Church are working on that very phrase in the document.
00:08:06.560 The vanguard of the ecclesial left is in Germany,
00:08:10.220 and officially called the Synodal Way.
00:08:11.940 An email communication to that group,
00:08:15.880 which was forwarded to LifeSite News,
00:08:18.700 notes that they will be studying the new Vatican document very carefully.
00:08:23.520 A Bishop Helmut Deezer is quoted as highlighting
00:08:26.840 the positive assessment of homosexuality by the Vatican's Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith.
00:08:32.400 It says, and I quote,
00:08:33.480 On the one hand,
00:08:35.320 it is assumed and thus recognized that there are homosexual couple relationships.
00:08:42.020 He went on to say that,
00:08:43.760 quote,
00:08:44.220 On the other hand,
00:08:45.720 it is said that there are positive elements in them that are to be valued and emphasized,
00:08:51.960 so that they must be treated with respect and tact.
00:08:55.980 End quote.
00:08:56.480 Oh, come now, 0.62
00:08:58.360 some people might say,
00:08:59.700 how could a document specifically forbidding the blessing of homosexual unions
00:09:04.900 be used to infiltrate the Church with the eventual aim of allowing for such blessings?
00:09:10.440 Well, in exactly the same way that the laws changed to allow for same-sex marriage.
00:09:16.500 Remember Biden and Obama when they were promoting same-sex civil unions
00:09:20.520 and being all against homosexual marriage 0.61
00:09:23.020 and all about marriage between a man and a woman, as they said.
00:09:26.160 Have a look.
00:09:26.780 Do you support gay marriage?
00:09:28.520 No.
00:09:29.080 Barack Obama nor I support redefining from a civil side what constitutes marriage.
00:09:36.360 We do not support that.
00:09:37.920 That is basically a decision to be able to be left to the face
00:09:40.760 and people who practice their face determination, what you call it.
00:09:44.380 It was the thin edge of the sword.
00:09:46.040 It was the Trojan horse that brought in homosexual marriage and now its enforcement. 0.98
00:09:51.240 Dear fellow Catholics,
00:09:53.780 we must be vigilant and fight for the truth of our faith,
00:09:57.340 for the sake of our souls,
00:09:59.240 for the sake of our children,
00:10:00.680 and for the sake of those with same-sex attractions
00:10:02.760 who are, like all of us,
00:10:04.920 tempted to engage in sinful activities,
00:10:07.380 activities which imperil their immortal souls.
00:10:11.940 For LifeSite News, this is John Henry Weston.
00:10:14.480 And may God bless you.

00:10:38.440 like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram
00:10:41.140 at an alarmingly fast rate.
00:10:44.240 They are attempting to suppress any narrative
00:10:46.900 that does not fit that of the mainstream media.
00:10:49.380 We knew this day would come.
