The John-Henry Westen Show - This Real Exorcist Is Revealing Details On Driving Out Satan

00:00:00.240 What Hollywood portrayed in the movie The Exorcist, with levitations, vomiting, spitting at the priest with an uncanny marksmanship,

00:00:09.320 all of that has not been a movie for me. I have seen that first.

00:00:12.940 My name is Father Carlos Martins. I'm a priest of the Catholic Church.

00:00:17.580 People ask Exorcists all the time, is that movie accurate and did it depict what happens during possession and during liberation accurately?

00:00:25.480 And the answer is, the short answer is yes. The only thing that I see in that movie that doesn't happen in an exorcism was the 360-degree head spin.

00:00:37.900 Exorcism is actually in the news right now.

00:00:40.620 In an interview with the New York Times, Nancy Pelosi and her daughter Alexandra spoke of the hammer attack incident with Nancy's husband Paul

00:00:48.380 and claimed that over Thanksgiving she had priests coming trying to have an exorcism of the house and having prayer services, end quote.

00:00:56.800 Well, the New York Post, however, seemed to cast doubt on the story since Nancy's pastor told the newspaper,

00:01:02.900 as far as I know, no exorcisms or priest services were performed in her home.

00:01:08.340 But exorcism is no joking matter. In fact, demonic activity underlies all the problems we are facing in the world today.

00:01:16.040 It's tied to abortion, to the LGBT agenda, to sexual abuse, drug abuse, and so much more.

00:01:22.620 A couple of months ago, I had a fascinating guest on this show by the name of Patricia Sandoval,

00:01:28.060 who spoke about dealing with her three abortions, the aftermath of the abortions.

00:01:32.840 But she also told the story of a man in Mexico who is possessed after the legalization of abortion in the country.

00:01:39.360 The man is possessed by the very same demons that ruled Mexico before Our Lady of Guadalupe converted the nation 0.99

00:01:46.960 and brought an end to the brutal child sacrifice going on there. Have a listen.

00:01:51.760 Pope Francis tells Father Juan Rivas, take him to Father Amorith for an exorcism.

00:01:58.780 He has legions. He's possessed.

00:02:00.700 These demons revealed we are the four demons that governed and controlled Mexico before the apparition in 1531. 0.57

00:02:09.940 We are the demons of bloodshed and human sacrifice.

00:02:13.720 Now that the Mexican people have betrayed the woman up above, we are now on the throne again. 1.00

00:03:59.060 But demonic activity is also tied to the other battles in the culture war as well.

00:04:05.220 I remember a LifeSite article 15 years ago.

00:04:09.500 It went viral because it was called Promiscuity Can Lead to Demonic Possession.

00:04:14.360 The story was based on a book by an exorcist in England, a priest of Westminster,

00:04:21.140 the leading diocese in the Catholic Church of England and Wales.

00:04:25.380 And he wrote that promiscuity, as well as homosexuality and pornography, 0.93

00:04:29.720 is a form of sexual perversion and can lead to demonic possession. 0.84

00:04:35.220 And, you know, he offered what may be an explanation for the explosion of homosexuality in recent years. 0.81

00:04:41.440 His name was Father Jeremy Davies, and he said, and I quote,

00:04:45.020 Among the causes of homosexuality is a contagious demonic factor, end quote. 0.97

00:04:51.540 In his book called Exorcism, Understanding Exorcism in Scripture and Practice,

00:04:57.360 Father Davies also wrote, and I quote,

00:04:59.080 Even heterosexual promiscuity is perversion, and intercourse, which belongs in the sanctuary of married love, 0.67

00:05:07.220 can become a pathway not only for disease, but also for evil spirits, end quote. 0.95

00:05:13.940 Even the transgender craze can be linked back to the action of the evil one. 1.00

00:05:18.980 One of the best-known modern-day exorcists, the late Father Gabriel Amorth, who died in 2016,

00:05:25.060 he wrote that disordered ideas about gender, especially in children, can be a sign of torment from the devil.

00:05:32.780 Demonic disturbances that torment individuals, called a diabolic obsession, he said, and I quote,

00:05:39.420 can lead to confusion about one's gender, particularly in the young, he wrote.

00:05:45.700 And his book was called An Exorcist Explains the Demonic,

00:05:49.180 The Antics of Satan and His Army of Fallen Angels.

00:05:53.260 But the Church is so divided on this question, it seems like it's suffering from multiple personality syndrome.

00:06:01.220 Back in December, a priest in Germany actually praised the benefits of pornography.

00:06:07.200 So in response, an American priest and exorcist, who's been an exorcist, I think, for about 15 years,

00:06:13.020 responded, warning that pornography can open souls to demonic activity.

00:06:17.520 That was Monsignor Stephen Rossetti, an exorcist for the Archdiocese of Washington and a licensed psychologist.

00:06:25.180 He said, and I quote,

00:06:26.480 a pornography addiction, like any serious sin, is an opening to the demonic, end quote.

00:06:32.720 But the schizophrenia in the Church gets even worse.

00:06:35.280 Last November, Swiss Bishop Joseph Maria Bonamain of the Diocese of Churr abolished the office of exorcist in his diocese.

00:06:42.520 Bonamain said that, he said actually in an interview, that there would be normal solutions for most problems,

00:06:49.100 and that people have, and that he's never been confronted with a person that needed a major exorcism.

00:06:56.320 According to the report that came from Swiss radio and televisions called SRF,

00:07:01.140 the bishop claims to have received the task from Pope Francis to solve the dispute between arch-conservative and moderate Catholics in his diocese,

00:07:08.520 and he said that not having an exorcist was a step toward what he called normalization.

00:07:16.060 Well, on the opposite side of the spectrum, and in line with traditional Catholic thought,

00:07:22.080 in July of last year, the Archdiocese of Manila in the Philippines began construction on a large exorcism center,

00:07:29.680 as exorcists have revealed that they now face 10 cases needing exorcism every day.

00:07:35.420 In May, Cardinal Jose Advincula and Father Francisco Sequia, director of the Archdiocese of Manila's Office of Exorcism,

00:07:45.020 led the groundbreaking ceremony to begin construction of the St. Michael Center for Spiritual Liberation and Exorcism in Makati City.

00:07:53.420 Now, Father Sequia said that the center would exactly minister to those in bondage to the devil who are therefore the poorest of the poor and are usually overlooked, end quote.

00:08:07.180 He added that they in the diocese are now looking to increase the number of exorcists in the country,

00:08:14.160 even though there has already been a dramatic growth in exorcists.

00:08:18.080 At that time, there were already 171 exorcists in various dioceses in the Philippines.

00:08:25.060 So, as I said, exorcism and the demonic is no joke,

00:08:29.580 and Father Carlos Martins is about to reveal that in his new podcast.

00:08:34.920 Have a listen.

00:08:35.300 What Hollywood portrayed in the movie The Exorcist, with levitations, vomiting, spitting at the priest with an uncanny marksmanship,

00:08:45.400 all of that has not been a movie for me.

00:08:47.640 I have seen that first.

00:08:49.160 My name is Father Carlos Martins.

00:08:51.860 I am a priest of the Catholic Church.

00:08:54.040 I was an atheist until, as a young adult, the Lord brought me out of darkness.

00:08:58.000 And since then, I have been living in his love.

00:09:00.360 But I've also seen things, very evil things, things that I wish weren't true.

00:09:10.340 The job of the exorcist, properly speaking, is not to cast out the devil.

00:09:14.920 The job of the exorcist is to find out, why is the devil there?

00:09:18.840 What rights has the demon gained?

00:09:22.140 What doorway has he entered through?

00:09:24.560 This is the first time I've opened my files about these battles to the public.

00:09:37.440 Up next, Father Carlos Martins himself.

00:09:41.080 This is The John Henner Weston Show.

00:09:43.000 Stay tuned.

00:09:50.220 Father Carlos Martins, welcome to the program.

00:09:52.760 Thank you very much.

00:09:53.600 Good to be here.

00:09:54.100 Father, we always start our program at the side of the cross.

00:09:56.780 If you could lead us, please.

00:09:57.820 Absolutely.

00:09:58.340 In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

00:10:00.040 Amen.

00:10:00.320 Almighty God, we give you this time.

00:10:01.880 We ask you to bless it in Jesus's most holy name.

00:10:05.320 For this we pray.

00:10:06.780 Amen.

00:10:07.760 Amen.

00:10:08.360 In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

00:10:10.380 Very controversially, I guess, in some circles anyway, you are an exorcist.

00:10:16.360 Maybe you can start very basic.

00:10:17.900 What is an exorcist?

00:10:18.920 What does that even mean?

00:10:19.940 I'm going to start out by stating what it doesn't mean.

00:10:22.260 So most people, and this is a part of a teaching.

00:10:26.280 I've trained exorcists.

00:10:28.820 I give seminars to clergy on exorcism.

00:10:32.640 And so this is a series of, this is a line for which I'm known all over.

00:10:38.640 The job of the exorcist is not to cast out the devil.

00:10:42.300 The job of the exorcist is to find out why is the devil there?

00:10:46.920 What rights has he gained?

00:10:50.060 And then it's the exorcist's job to work with the victim to rescind those rights.

00:10:55.820 So it's a pastoral activity.

00:10:58.620 It's, so most people think that, you know, an exorcist comes in, he faces the devil, and

00:11:04.060 they go pitting against, one against the other.

00:11:06.600 And, you know, the most powerful one wins.

00:11:09.920 So, so, and the weapons that the exorcist has is the church equips him with a right, equips

00:11:15.840 him with a trusty crucifix, equips him with holy water.

00:11:20.380 And, and basically he, he goes in and clobbers the devil over the head.

00:11:24.800 And that is, that is, that is not what happens at all.

00:11:28.200 So if the devil is in somebody or in a place, he is there because he has gained the right

00:11:34.840 to be there.

00:11:35.940 And just like, I can't go into your home and kick you out of it because you have a right

00:11:41.640 to be there.

00:11:42.120 You have a deed.

00:11:43.480 I can't go into somebody and kick out the devil as long as he has the right to be there.

00:11:48.160 So I've got to, I've got to work on those rights.

00:11:50.800 First of all, with the victim.

00:11:52.080 I want to back up a little bit to your own journey.

00:11:55.260 I know that you were an atheist in your youth.

00:12:00.020 How in the world did you end up becoming a priest, let alone becoming an exorcist?

00:12:04.720 Well, I had to have a conversion.

00:12:06.480 I was baptized as an infant, but I was not raised with religion.

00:12:11.720 And when I was in university, I encountered a small group of students, just a handful,

00:12:19.640 maybe it was about six, perhaps, and a small number of professors who were committed Catholics.

00:12:29.600 And their Catholicism, their Christianity was so authentic that they emanated this profound

00:12:36.980 piece.

00:12:37.700 And the story that I like to tell that exhibits this piece, the anecdote, is I was with one

00:12:45.760 of these students one day in one of the coffee shops on campus.

00:12:51.400 And somebody came in, we're sitting at a little round table, each having a cup of coffee.

00:12:56.840 Somebody came in and informed him that his car had been stolen from the parking lot that

00:13:03.200 morning, it was driven around campus and the back streets, and it was slammed into a great

00:13:08.920 big oak tree.

00:13:09.680 The car was now hugging that tree. 0.99

00:13:12.000 In other words, the car is garbage. 0.88

00:13:15.040 And I remember him receiving that news. 0.95

00:13:17.900 And then he turns and he faces me again.

00:13:20.740 And this is what he said.

00:13:21.880 Well, I guess it just wasn't God's will for me to have a car right now.

00:13:27.600 He could still enjoy the cup of coffee in front of him.

00:13:30.580 And that, you know, our conversation went on at least for half an hour after that.

00:13:37.880 And I can't tell you a single thing about what we talked about.

00:13:41.840 I was mesmerized by the fact that this, he didn't give a rat's rump about his car, which

00:13:51.180 at the time would have destroyed me.

00:13:54.120 So these people were different.

00:13:56.920 And when one of them organized a retreat at the end of the semester, so I was in my, in

00:14:03.680 between my second and third year of university at that point, I just finished the second.

00:14:10.040 He organized a Eucharistic adoration retreat.

00:14:13.420 And I had no idea what that was.

00:14:15.600 So he said the word retreat, and I understood vacation.

00:14:20.160 So, hey, sure, I'll, I'll bring the beer.

00:14:23.440 And so I, I went to this retreat.

00:14:26.160 And then once I saw what it consisted of, so, I mean, we had adoration, each man would have

00:14:32.220 four hours a day at every six hours, you had an hour that would begin.

00:14:38.120 I mean, even the Carthusians don't do something that, that kind of hardcore.

00:14:42.800 Anyway, that's what was organized.

00:14:44.320 And, you know, who do you think as luck would have it, as grace would have it, who do you

00:14:48.540 think had the first shift?

00:14:50.500 So there I am in front of what looked to me like a cracker, right?

00:14:58.380 So there, there, there is, I'm in front of what looks to me like a cracker.

00:15:02.020 And, and I'm supposed to adore this and, and, and worship what looks to me in that manner

00:15:09.520 as God.

00:15:10.560 I didn't have the faith in that moment.

00:15:12.500 I just felt shame and I plotted my escape.

00:15:14.800 And, and I, I, you know, I, this was beef before cell phones.

00:15:20.560 So I couldn't, this was in 1996.

00:15:22.720 I couldn't fake an emergency.

00:15:25.700 Hey, I just got a call.

00:15:26.920 My mom is sick.

00:15:27.720 I got to go.

00:15:28.180 So in order to get out, I, I had one of two things that I could say, I could say, I forgot

00:15:34.640 something at home and then I had to leave to go get it and then just not come back.

00:15:38.920 But I mean, there were stores all around.

00:15:41.460 So that one was no good.

00:15:43.460 The other one was, I just, I feel ill, but you know, I had so much respect for the integrity

00:15:50.200 of this group.

00:15:51.540 I could not bring myself to lie to them.

00:15:54.340 So their, their witness had such a purity about it that I just, I couldn't bring myself

00:16:03.020 to tell them a lie.

00:16:05.320 And so I did what the, the most honest act I'd ever did in my life.

00:16:08.720 I got on my knees and, and I said, God, I don't know if you're here or not.

00:16:12.220 And I felt just completely foolish in doing this.

00:16:15.300 Um, I mean, I felt, it felt like to me, the equivalent of kneeling in front of a tree and

00:16:22.660 talking to a tree.

00:16:23.660 I mean, it, that's what the experience felt like to me.

00:16:27.840 I said, Lord God, I don't know if you exist or not.

00:16:31.680 I don't believe you do, but if you do, please reveal yourself to me and I will give you my

00:16:37.940 life.

00:16:38.420 If you do so, if you can give me the faith that I see in them, the joy I see in them,

00:16:42.780 I'll give you my life.

00:16:45.260 And so what happened then for the, nothing happened.

00:16:48.500 I didn't see anything.

00:16:49.440 I didn't hear anything, but I was surprised how easy it was for the rest of that hour to

00:16:54.860 just sit there in silence.

00:16:57.180 It wasn't overwhelming, but the anxiety of sitting there for an hour and doing nothing,

00:17:04.480 it, it went by relatively quickly.

00:17:07.680 The second shift I had was even more easy.

00:17:10.700 And then the third shift, which happened at 3 AM, that's when the, the wheels of kind

00:17:18.300 of the atheist truck, if you will, fell off.

00:17:20.960 And, and in that, in that sometime during that adoration time, I had an experience of

00:17:27.740 God where I knew that I was in front of almighty God.

00:17:31.660 I knew that he had created me.

00:17:33.180 I knew that I was created in love and that experience was so powerful, so real, so striking

00:17:40.440 that it, it's as real for me today.

00:17:44.480 It's as shocking.

00:17:45.660 It's as surprising in this moment.

00:17:48.400 And I've never doubted the faith since.

00:17:50.520 So I, I went to that retreat as an atheist and I came out a believer.

00:17:53.580 It was about seven years after that, that I got a call to the priesthood.

00:17:58.720 Again, ironically, I was at a retreat, but you know, God, God speaks to people on retreats.

00:18:03.700 So people should be taking retreats.

00:18:05.980 You know, people, retreats are a good thing.

00:18:08.840 Make time in your life to go on a retreat.

00:18:11.700 You know, God, God will come to you.

00:18:14.040 And so I got the call there and it, you know, that one was in a sense, much less dramatic,

00:18:19.020 or at least it didn't take as long for that experience to happen.

00:18:23.820 On one of the days, the Lord just said, Carlos, I want you to be a priest.

00:18:27.960 I promise to make you very happy if you choose that.

00:18:31.580 And in that moment, the experience was as strong as my conversion experience was.

00:18:38.320 And again, to this day, I've, I've never doubted it.

00:18:41.920 It would, it's an experience that it feels just impossible to doubt.

00:18:45.620 As a seminarian, I was involved in some deliverance cases, some spiritual warfare kind of case,

00:18:52.400 but very simple, minor stuff.

00:18:54.620 As a deacon, that's when I was kind of thrown into things.

00:18:58.820 I was stationed in Houston, Texas, and the companions, we compromised at the time,

00:19:05.760 the, the exorcism ministry for Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, the archbishop.

00:19:10.940 And there were, there were three priests involved in that ministry, all, all of them being part of my religious community.

00:19:20.220 And they were really busy.

00:19:23.040 I went on to replace one of them when I became ordained as a priest.

00:19:27.700 And so I saw, I saw that firsthand.

00:19:30.160 They were so busy dealing with people and possession cases and severe oppression cases that when something relatively minor would come in,

00:19:41.280 like a house haunting where, where a house is infested, the people are not, but the place is,

00:19:48.320 they just turned to me and said, okay, deacon, batter up, go get rid of the devil. 0.99

00:19:51.580 And, and at the time I didn't have any training, but I knew, I just knew, I just had a kind of instinct.

00:20:00.240 If the devil's there, he's going to be there for a reason.

00:20:02.800 And I need to uncover that reason.

00:20:04.780 Like I was kind of, I guess, had enough wits about me to know that you don't get the devil in a place,

00:20:13.420 in a person by making peanut butter sandwiches, uh, or by chewing the wrong flavor of gum,

00:20:21.280 that, that there's something that has to happen that brings him into that situation.

00:20:26.700 And so I went into those house, uh, exorcisms with the knowledge that something has to be undone

00:20:35.260 that was done in order for the devil, uh, to depart.

00:20:38.960 And so upon ordination as a priest, I was thrown right into the ministry and,

00:20:44.120 and I've worked in within it ever since, uh, in two days, I fly out of state and help, uh,

00:20:50.720 a local, uh, diocesan exorcist with his cases.

00:20:55.140 Father, if you could finish that story for us about the house, that was fascinating.

00:20:59.100 If you can give us one example or, or an approximation of one, um, of what can go into

00:21:05.920 our house to haunt it and how to stop that from happening, how to kick the devil out?

00:21:10.380 So one of the very first cases I had, so a woman came to the parish and she requested her house

00:21:17.940 to be blessed. And what I started to do was ask people, why do you want it blessed? I mean,

00:21:24.680 you know, Catholics, we, we don't need a reason to have a house blessed. We just

00:21:28.300 bless it because it's a good thing to do. Uh, we, we always do that. But I started asking that

00:21:34.360 because sometimes people say, Hey, I want my house blessed. What they really mean is,

00:21:39.700 uh, you know, there's something bad going on in my house and I, I want it addressed. I want to get

00:21:44.200 rid of it. So, uh, so I asked her that and she said, things are happening in it. What kinds of

00:21:50.360 things? Uh, well, she would have an object sitting, um, on a table, uh, safely on a table,

00:21:57.820 safely on a countertop. The object would just suddenly unexpectedly fall to the floor. It was

00:22:03.360 nowhere near the edge. It would fall and break. Appliances would turn on by themselves would turn

00:22:09.620 off by themselves. Uh, but kind of the, the creepiest thing was there was a music box in one

00:22:17.760 of the bedrooms that would start chiming randomly day and night. Uh, so this house was a house that

00:22:25.700 belonged to her uncle. Uh, her house had been destroyed in a fire. And so he had lent the use

00:22:32.580 of his house to his niece. He was deployed in Afghanistan at the time. So he was going to be

00:22:37.180 away at least another three years. Um, and so his house was empty, let her use it. And so, and so

00:22:44.720 forth. So she entered into the house and all of this stuff started to happen. The music box was one

00:22:52.360 that it was the one that was the creepiest. And she described, um, sitting on the couch and, and at

00:23:01.220 times thinking, gosh, you know, it's been hours since I've heard the music box. Maybe it stopped. And

00:23:06.340 at that moment, it would start chiming almost as if it could read her thoughts. The devil cannot read

00:23:13.400 our thoughts. He can anticipate, uh, what we're thinking by our body language, uh, by the patterns

00:23:21.420 that he's observed by which he can deduce what we're thinking based on what we're doing. He can

00:23:27.680 do that. He's very good at that, but he, he does not have access to our thoughts regardless. So I,

00:23:34.040 I agree to go over and I, I bring my bag, everything I need to, to bless and exercise this house. And as

00:23:41.560 soon as I arrive at the place, she, she, I stepped in and I saw the ceiling fan start spinning and it

00:23:49.960 would spin really slowly. And then all of a sudden start spinning so fast. I mean, spinning as fast as

00:23:58.560 the propeller of a plane, I spinning so fast that the, the fins on this fan were invisible. The, the,

00:24:07.780 the thing was just a blur. It would create so much wind that papers and small objects in the,

00:24:14.080 in the room were, were blowing around, bouncing around. So I go over to the counter to the kind

00:24:22.160 of the Island counter in the kitchen. I put down my bag and I start taking out my things. And I asked

00:24:28.420 her to go to the sink and, and bring me back a bowl with water. So I, first thing I'm doing is

00:24:34.480 blessing the holy water, making holy water. When I'm done that, I move right into the prayers of

00:24:42.360 exorcism for a place out of the ritual that the church has. And as I'm saying those prayers,

00:24:48.180 boom, I hear the music box going now to give another dimension about that music box. It was sitting on a

00:24:55.480 dresser and what, what creeped her out is the fact that there was nobody present in the house other than

00:25:03.780 her. And so no one is winding this music box. And at times it would go off for hours without stop.

00:25:12.120 It would stop randomly pick up sometimes after a great length of time, sometimes after a short,

00:25:17.300 but it wasn't being wound. And so she, she went to investigate it and she could see the key

00:25:23.720 inside on the side and she removed the key, but that had absolutely no effect on it.

00:25:29.540 She tried to pick up the music box to remove it out of the house and it wouldn't budge. It was as if

00:25:36.840 it was, it had four legs, but it was as if it was fused to the top of the dresser. So after making the

00:25:44.760 holy water and after saying the exorcism prayers for the house, I go around blessing each room,

00:25:50.440 sprinkling holy water everywhere. When I'm done the first floor, I move on to the second. Meanwhile,

00:25:55.020 the fan is doing its own thing. It stops spinning in one direction instantly and starts spinning just

00:26:00.400 as fast in the other direction with no slowdown and no buildup of momentum. I mean, something that

00:26:05.680 would just be physically impossible in terms of, of the laws of nature. So I bless all of the rooms on

00:26:16.340 the second floor. And the last one I leave is the bedroom with the music box. And so I entered into

00:26:22.280 that room and there is the music box sitting on the counter and it's chiming away, sitting on the

00:26:27.900 dresser, pardon me. So what I do is I put down the bowl with holy water and I reached down to pick up

00:26:33.600 this music box and I pick it up without issue. I mean, it just picked up, it weighed maybe a couple

00:26:40.740 of pounds, like what you would expect a typical music box to weigh. But as soon as I touched it,

00:26:47.520 it stopped chiming. So the chime stopped. I open up the music box. So that's another thing. Typically

00:26:55.720 a music box starts chiming when you open the lid. The lid was closed the entire time for this. So when

00:27:02.760 I opened the lid, I found that there was absolutely nothing but empty space inside this box. There were

00:27:11.480 no mechanical parts. There was nothing and there was no evidence that there ever were any. So there

00:27:18.020 was no glue residue, no screw marks from anything having been in there. It was empty space. I could

00:27:25.560 see the, the, the hole, the keyhole where the, the windup key would go, but it itself was connected to

00:27:32.360 nothing. So I put down the music box. I blessed that room. She never had another phenomena again.

00:27:39.140 So why was the enemy present in that house? Uh, the short answer is, I don't know, but obviously her

00:27:48.260 uncle was into something that he shouldn't be into. And this presence is in his house. When he gave her

00:27:56.740 permission to stay there as his guest, then she, in the legal realm, demons are legalistic entities. 0.96

00:28:05.620 In the legal realm, she was equivalent as to being the owner. And so her having given me permission to

00:28:14.380 bless the house and get rid of this phenomena was sufficient to stop it. Did that, did the demons

00:28:20.660 permanently leave? I don't know. I, I highly doubt it, but they were quiet. They didn't have permission

00:28:27.560 to act because the guest who is now the de facto owner had taken that right away from them. And I

00:28:36.700 had ratified that right through the power of the church. So that, that was one of the first

00:28:43.100 situations I had ever had. These exorcisms, how, how long does this take to do?

00:28:48.460 The ritual of exorcism of a place might take you four minutes, maybe five. If, uh, if you're praying

00:28:56.820 the prayers, praying them deliberately, uh, which you ought to the sprinkling of the holy water, which

00:29:03.640 is, which is included in the right, which is, which is prescribed by the right as the last step.

00:29:08.540 That really depends on how big the house is. When I bless a home, I bless every single room. I bless all

00:29:15.040 four corners of the room and, uh, I make a pass through the center of the room. I bless every

00:29:21.080 window and every door, every access point, so to speak, uh, to every room, to every home. I bless

00:29:28.080 the backyard. I bless the garage, the basement, the front door, the front stoop, the driveway and so

00:29:34.620 forth. So that I'm, I'm kind of hitting, um, I'm, I'm making a, a declaration. I'm staking a claim

00:29:43.720 by the Lord for this property, for everything in it and everyone in it for the entire property.

00:29:49.920 Do I need to do that necessarily? Maybe not necessarily, but staking the claim is itself

00:29:55.760 a prayer and is it, it is itself an act of authority. I want everybody to know, uh, also who

00:30:03.880 you are in the sense of the world, because there is a website associated with you. Um, love to tell

00:30:10.040 that story. It's exorcistfiles.tv. So what's happening is next week on Wednesday, there is

00:30:17.040 a podcast that is launching worldwide. Uh, that podcast was a collaborative effort between

00:30:24.160 two Hollywood producers, I heart media, the Vatican and myself. And so that was, um, an attempt

00:30:34.180 to bring about a knowledge and an awareness of demonic activity in the world that is present

00:30:41.540 today. And to have the Vatican wanted an exorcist, a seasoned exorcist to give a catechesis, um,

00:30:51.080 as to the devil, demonology and possession. Go check them out. Exorcistfiles.tv. This subject,

00:30:57.840 I think is so fascinating because people watch it on movies. Um, but there's a lot of stuff

00:31:05.160 on movies that isn't true. And, and you see all sorts of weird stuff. What's it like in

00:31:11.440 real life? I mean, from what you've seen, that's the question everybody wants to know, right?

00:31:16.260 Most of us of a, of a certain generation, and certainly you and I fall into that, uh, John

00:31:21.280 Henry, uh, we've seen the movie, the exorcist and, and that's kind of the benchmark movie worldwide

00:31:28.720 about the devil and about possession. Um, so people ask exorcists all the time, uh, did that,

00:31:37.020 is that movie accurate and did it depict what happens during possession and during liberation

00:31:42.080 accurately? And the, and the answer is the short answer is yes. Uh, the only thing that I see in that

00:31:48.100 movie that, that doesn't happen in an exorcism, uh, is what was, was the, the 360 degree headspin

00:31:56.780 that would break a human being's neck. Uh, and so the, the body remains the body during possession

00:32:04.240 and the body's limitations, it's, it's innate limitations are there. Now there are certain

00:32:11.660 limitations that are surpassed. So, so, uh, superhuman strength is possible. That's

00:32:17.900 provided by the demon though. It's not provided by the human body, but he cannot make the human body

00:32:24.180 do something that is against its innate nature. Uh, so for example, spinning ahead 360 degrees,

00:32:31.380 but the vomiting, the levitation, the room suddenly, and without warning dropping 35 degrees. And so a room

00:32:40.640 becomes frigid cold. Uh, and in fact, the windows and the doors can be open and the cold is contained

00:32:47.280 only within the room. Step six inches outside the room and you feel normal room temperature. And yet

00:32:54.660 six inches in to this open doorway. In fact, there doesn't even need to be a doorway. He, the, the

00:33:00.800 coldness can be contained in a, in within a, a 12 foot radius.

00:33:27.800 at give.LifeSiteNews.com. And now back to the video. Just for clarity, Father, is this stuff that

00:33:35.300 you yourself have experienced? Yes, absolutely. The sensationalistic parlor tricks that the devil

00:33:41.760 does are just that. They are parlor tricks. They are an attempt by the demon to scare the exorcist,

00:33:51.160 to scare his assistants that would be there. The intercessors he'll have in the room,

00:33:57.400 the other people that are present. And so let, let me ask you a question. If you went into a room,

00:34:04.560 if you're invited to be an intercessor at an exorcism, and notice I'm asking that, I didn't

00:34:11.360 say spectator. You would never bring somebody in to be just a spectator. Why? It wouldn't be safe for

00:34:18.780 you to do that. If you're coming in as a spectator, you are already coming in. You're giving the devil

00:34:26.320 the right to a relationship. You're coming to observe him. That is relationship forming. It

00:34:33.020 wouldn't be safe for you for that to happen. But if you're coming as an intercessor, you have a role,

00:34:39.460 and you're going to fulfill that role. And that role is against him. So that prevents any kind of

00:34:45.760 relationship forming. But if you came into a room and you saw something levitate, you saw the crucifix

00:34:53.940 I had, I put it down on the table, and it begins levitating into the air. So it's three feet up off

00:34:59.540 the table. That might get you a little bit tense when you see that, right? So let's say you're in your

00:35:06.520 17th exorcism. And you've seen that every single time. Are you going to be as tense about it the 17th

00:35:16.160 time as you were the first? Probably not, right? After 200 times, you're not even going to put down

00:35:24.240 your cup of coffee, right? You're going to keep drinking. It becomes a parlor trick. Oh, the

00:35:29.740 levitating crucifix again. So what happens after time is the devil stops doing the parlor tricks

00:35:38.680 because they're just not effective. Their intended purpose isn't being met. And so he doesn't waste

00:35:47.240 his energy doing that. What he employs his energy in doing is resisting the prayers and the attack of

00:35:54.240 the priest. He resists the prayers of the church. And so he puts his energy in that in trying to

00:36:01.940 protect the real estate that he's claimed and prevent that from being lost.

00:36:06.900 So one of the things we learn or hear about with exorcisms is sometimes they can actually go on for

00:36:13.440 a long, long time. Sometimes even more than a year. How does that look like? What does that mean?

00:36:21.560 What does it mean when you said you have to unpack or find out what the root is and then undo the

00:36:27.660 rites? The most difficult part of exorcism is the diagnostic, is the figuring out why the devil is

00:36:34.560 there. And he can be there for a number of reasons. The most common is personal mortal sin. But it doesn't

00:36:42.440 have to be that. It can be a curse that was placed on a person. It can be what we call a generational sin,

00:36:50.820 that there was a covenant made in the family line that is present there. And that covenant

00:36:57.000 was brought in by a sin, by a mortal sin. And it subjects everybody in that bloodline

00:37:05.100 to a particular demon or demons. But generally speaking, an exorcism session might last anywhere

00:37:13.480 between an hour and a half to four hours. And after that, you're generally pretty exhausted.

00:37:22.100 But you would require about a year and a half of time on average to complete a possession case and

00:37:31.200 exorcise the devil. And so that's with an exorcism happening at least once a week. So to state it

00:37:37.880 differently, the average possession case lasts 75 sessions. Whoa, I have some that I am helping an

00:37:49.420 exorcist with. They've been, well, there's two cases he has. These are the most visceral cases that

00:37:58.220 I've ever had, that I've ever seen. I've never even read about cases this visceral. They've been in play

00:38:05.420 for over 12 years. So each one has a unique character. I really can't talk about those cases

00:38:10.860 because they're active, but there's kind of everything in between. There's some possession

00:38:15.980 cases that they're over in one shot, one session. Why would some be as quick as that and others be so

00:38:24.600 long? Well, it comes down to two things. One is what doors were opened and why. That's one.

00:38:32.060 Secondly, the nature of the demons that are involved themselves. If you have bigger demons,

00:38:39.220 you have bigger cases. The more powerful the demon, the more powerful the hold. And demons have

00:38:46.380 entourages. The demonic world is a very legalistic world, but it's also a militaristic world.

00:38:53.880 So you have legions, you have captains, you have generals. And so what they'll do as you have a

00:39:02.280 higher ranking demon present within a person, he's putting his foot soldiers in front of you and

00:39:09.360 behind them are other stronger legionnaires, so to speak. And so to get to him, you sometimes have to

00:39:17.940 go through a plethora of other ones. What's the greatest number of demons you've ever seen in a person?

00:39:22.260 There was one person who was born into a satanic cult. So this person was born into a cult that

00:39:34.720 worships Satan. And this person was born to a breeder. So satanic cults will have women that serve as 1.00

00:39:43.800 breeders. Satanic cults are very much a patriarchal society. And that's what makes them incompatible

00:39:50.840 with witchcraft or or Wiccan cults. So one is a patriarchal society, one is a matriarchal society, 1.00

00:39:58.120 they are natural enemies. So they, they don't typically work together. It's not to say that

00:40:05.380 they never have, but they loathe one another. A satanic cult will have breeders. And the, the priests,

00:40:13.780 the satanic priests, they will impregnate the breeders. And that's what ensures the longevity of 1.00

00:40:20.160 the cult. Satanic cults are not interested in recruiting new members. They raise their own

00:40:27.120 members. And when they birth children, they birth them off the record. So there's no registration of

00:40:34.440 the births. This is why, for example, I mean, well, people don't typically know this, but the vast

00:40:41.540 majority of the child pornography that is produced is produced within the context of satanic cults.

00:40:50.200 So the children are off the grid, the births are not registered, no one recognizes them.

00:40:57.700 And, and, and, and the proof of this, among other things is in the fact that, yeah, once in a while,

00:41:04.480 we hear about rings of child pornography being discovered by the police and there being stings and

00:41:11.900 so forth, and, and groups of people are netted within this, you know, we hear about 89 people were

00:41:19.180 arrested in this ring, consumers of pornography, three of them were judges, 18 of them were teachers,

00:41:24.960 et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. But what we never hear about, and you've never heard about

00:41:31.300 is the child actors being discovered. And the reason why is by the time that that pornography

00:41:38.840 is released, those kids are no more. They have been sacrificed in a satanic ritual. And so that's

00:41:44.900 that world. That world is a cruel world. And this is how the cults, first of all, they make money,

00:41:52.400 they make tremendous amounts of money selling this, but they protect themselves because

00:41:58.100 if, if to prove the pornography was produced here, where is the child that's in the video,

00:42:07.600 right? That, that child is, has been slaughtered long before that moment. So this person was born

00:42:15.740 to a satanic cult, was consecrated to Satan at various times in her life from the time

00:42:22.280 she was in the womb to the time, I mean, to birth and with, through different discrete

00:42:29.240 ceremonies. So when she escaped the cult, she was already a young adult. When I started the

00:42:38.380 sessions with this individual, they were easily the most violent that I had ever been part

00:42:45.560 of, immensely violent. She picked up one of the holders that was there, a big, enormous six foot

00:42:54.520 five, 300 pound man, and just tossed him with one arm across the room. She then pointed to a light 0.97

00:43:02.480 switch on the wall. And you know, your, your light switches, they have a cover plate, there's a screw

00:43:07.540 on top of the switch, a screw below that kind of keeps the plate in the wall. She pointed at the

00:43:13.060 light switch, one of the screws unscrewed itself, came flying through the air into her hand, and she

00:43:18.580 drove it into her left arm. We never saw the screw again. In her, the amount of demons are immense.

00:43:27.540 And in the, you know, her, her exorcism took years. In the early years, we would work for hours, we might

00:43:34.100 get one or two demons out. By five, six years into it, they were in one session, maybe a one, four hour

00:43:41.800 session, there might be 2,500 that are cast out. Oh my gosh. And, and, and how we would know the

00:43:50.180 number is we're not meeting them one by one. But by that point, we were already able to cast out

00:43:56.880 legionnaires and captains. So you cast him out, and you cast all the demons that are in his entourage.

00:44:04.480 And so at that point, we were covering a lot of ground. And she had experienced a tremendous amount

00:44:11.720 of freedom by that point. But, and, and how we knew how many were gone is we would compel a demon

00:44:18.320 to tell us how many were just cast out. And that would give us a map. And in the end, can you trust

00:44:25.280 what a demon says to you 100%? No. But by that point, these demons are up against a rope. There's been

00:44:33.240 years of battling, they're weakened. The Holy Spirit is present within her because by that time,

00:44:40.060 we had baptized her, we had confirmed her, none of these things had ever been done. So there was a

00:44:45.720 tremendous amount of grace operative within her. And so at that point, we were removing large amounts

00:44:52.880 of demons from her. One of the other things you do, Father, as it's related, of course, but you go

00:44:57.820 around and show relics of the saints at churches. Do relics assist you when you do exorcisms?

00:45:07.640 Yeah, absolutely. So I run Treasures of the Church, which is a Vatican ministry of relics of the saints.

00:45:13.640 So I conduct expositions worldwide within churches, schools, and prisons, bringing a large Vatican exhibit

00:45:21.440 of relics. I give a catechesis on the saints, teaching on the saints on their relics.

00:45:26.040 And then I allow people to go venerate them, to touch them, to bless themselves with them,

00:45:31.120 and so forth. So that's very much a ministry of evangelization. But it's also very much a healing

00:45:38.900 ministry. Relics heal. And we hear about in scripture in various places where that occurs.

00:45:45.060 But relics are also exorcistic. So where relics are, the demons are being fought. There's an invisible

00:45:55.220 war happening. And St. Jerome says famously in one of his letters, in his letter to Vigilantius,

00:46:01.800 that even the dust of the saints causes the demons to howl. And so there are deliverances that occur

00:46:11.160 within exorcisms. You see that happening regularly, where, for example, one of the things I do,

00:46:19.200 the relics are all laid out on blue tablecloths. The reliquaries are gold. The tablecloths have a

00:46:26.320 royal blue. Royal blue shows off gold marvelously well. I bring extra cloths because what happens,

00:46:35.000 and I noticed this years ago, and I had no explanation for this until the exorcistic dimension

00:46:42.420 of relics became much more evident through the exorcisms I was conducting and so forth. But simply

00:46:48.520 the regularity of this phenomena occurring. And that is, parents would come, they would bring a little

00:46:53.920 kid, five, six years old. They would bring him to the first table with the relics, and he'd promptly

00:47:00.440 vomit all over it. And so, you know, the parents would be met with embarrassment and shame.

00:47:07.820 And I started bringing extra tablecloths because this happened with such regularity. And so what

00:47:14.460 I discovered is that there's typically something happening in the lives of the parents that puts

00:47:26.820 them at enmity with God. There's some moral transgression in one or both that is there and

00:47:35.280 that is present. And the children are suffering because of it. So what happened to the kid,

00:47:41.920 what's happening is the kid is being delivered. And that vomiting is a manifestation of the cleansing

00:47:49.700 that's going on within him. And so what I've learned to do is just turn to the parents, put them aside and

00:47:55.680 said, look, I have no idea what's happening in your lives, but there's something that is not good.

00:48:00.860 And you probably know exactly what that is. Get rid of it. I'll give them a card if they want to talk

00:48:06.780 more. But that's what's going on in terms of the kids. There have been schools that I've set up at

00:48:16.500 or parish halls where there have been poltergeist phenomena that happen in there. People hear

00:48:23.080 footsteps, disembodied footsteps, moans, rattles. After the event with the relics are there, nothing.

00:48:30.620 Just a dead, silent, a peace. So there's an invisible battle happening with relics. So that

00:48:38.900 ministry, if any of your viewers are interested in, it's described at treasurersofthechurch.com,

00:48:45.520 which is the ministry's website. A couple things you said that are very interesting. One, you said

00:48:50.420 that it's most often due to mortal sin. Now, in our day and age, that's not a very foreign thing.

00:48:59.480 And we have, you know, pornography is ubiquitous and self-abuse, as it used to be called properly,

00:49:07.020 is normalized for everybody. It's recommended. And so that's rife. Are we dealing with an infestation

00:49:16.580 of demons like never before in history or what's going on?

00:49:18.720 There have been, in the last 10 years, a record number of possessions reported. And that is not

00:49:27.680 only why the Vatican opened a school for exorcism, but why the Vatican wanted the production of the

00:49:35.120 podcast series that is being released this coming Wednesday, is to give people the information that

00:49:41.800 there are implications when one lives a sinful lifestyle. And sin is being normalized within

00:49:48.920 Western society. You know, the homosexuality, masturbation, as you mentioned, pornography, 1.00

00:49:56.920 like none of that is, you know, 20 years ago, people never, if the mention of pornography or

00:50:04.560 masturbation came up, people were embarrassed by that. Nobody's embarrassed about it anymore. And among

00:50:09.500 the young, it's, it's, it's, it's talked about as, as, as a matter of fact, but you have also other

00:50:16.860 things that are affecting, not just say kids, teens, you have adults picking up demons in through,

00:50:26.320 through ways that they never expected, right? So one of the things you see popping up everywhere

00:50:32.520 is spas offering Reiki treatments, spas offering treatments whereby a practitioner will come lay

00:50:41.600 her hands on you and raise your energy level, right? So this is not massage. This is not physical

00:50:48.860 therapy. This is a spiritual action being done on you to raise your energy. Well, by definition,

00:50:56.100 this is, this is an act of the occult. This is invoking a power, an energy, a spirit that is

00:51:06.660 not of God. And so this is the equivalent, if you will, of using the Ouija board, where, where you're

00:51:13.040 opening a portal, you're allowing yourself to be used as a portal and a spirit to enter into you.

00:51:18.820 So this is entirely incompatible with Christianity. You have businessmen, for the sake of business 0.99

00:51:27.120 contact, it's become fashionable again. And I say again, I mean, it always was fashionable,

00:51:33.440 but now even within Catholic circles, right, even within evangelical Christian circles, it's,

00:51:39.900 it's fashionable to become a Freemason. People get in, in order to develop business contacts,

00:51:45.840 but you know what? Uh, this is, uh, a society rooted in the occult. The oaths one takes as a Mason

00:51:55.620 are occult oaths. And as I mentioned earlier, I think I mentioned it in the program here,

00:52:01.880 that the most frequent way, uh, you know, if I didn't, I'm mentioning it now, the most frequent

00:52:06.880 way that people get demons is through dabbling in the occult. The second most common is through

00:52:15.780 sexual sin. Uh, but why the occult? Well, because to dabble in the occult, to transgress in the

00:52:25.900 occult, one is taking the place of God. One is usurping the divine cosmology and the divine

00:52:34.420 authority of reality and taking control over realms or attempting to take control over realms and

00:52:42.480 dimensions that belong to sovereign God. You're pushing God out of the way. By definition, that is

00:52:51.000 the demonic rebellion. That's exactly what the demons did. And so you are imitating them 100%.

00:52:58.360 And in the sexual dimension, well, our sexuality is the way by which, and the, the proper use of our

00:53:05.780 sexuality is the way by which we most resemble God in our dignity. Human sexuality used in, in its

00:53:15.060 intended purpose brings about new life, new creation. It brings about a unity in the spouses, 1.00

00:53:21.260 a deeper and profound love for them, for one another. And to misuse it is to again, appropriate

00:53:28.480 the rebellion of the demonic. It's a crying out of, no, I will not serve God in the manner that he's

00:53:34.620 chosen. I'm going to do what I want. And so these two areas are easily the two areas where people pick

00:53:42.200 up the most demons. Wow. With all of this sort of supernatural stuff going on, levitation and things

00:53:49.580 like this, doesn't that, anybody who has doubts as to, you know, the spirit world, wouldn't that be

00:54:01.800 cured? Have you ever seen like an exorcism and what goes on in there lead to someone having a deeper faith

00:54:07.260 because they're like, wow, it's really real? Obviously. I mean, it would cause their categories to be

00:54:12.800 shifted. However, somebody who doesn't have faith already, you would never bring them into an exorcism 0.83

00:54:20.680 because at that point, you know, the devil is under incredible duress and he's going to look for

00:54:28.200 any mouse hole in which to crawl. And if that person who lacks no faith, if that home is even

00:54:36.560 more inviting than the home he currently occupies and to state it differently, if that host offers him

00:54:44.380 better and perhaps even more secure real estate than what he's got in victim A, then he will jump.

00:54:51.920 And now this person has become victim B. And now you have a situation where it's much,

00:54:56.620 much more difficult now to get rid of the devil.

00:54:59.500 So Father, I guess the ultimate question for us is what can we best do to guard ourselves from this

00:55:07.260 kind of demonic attack? You know, because people are susceptible, especially in a world rife with

00:55:15.840 mortal sin, with the occult being offered. You go to massage for massage parlor, the massage therapist

00:55:24.420 might very well say, hey, I can do this little thing for you to increase your energy. I'm sure it happens

00:55:29.440 all the time.

00:55:30.300 Well, first of all, get rid of the sin out of your life. Get the hell rid of it. Period. Live in accordance 0.55

00:55:37.640 with the dignity of your baptism. That's one. Secondly, live your faith life. Strengthen your faith

00:55:44.940 through the frequent reception of the sacraments, through the reading of the Word of God, and developing

00:55:49.680 a prayer life. Become the person that Christ designed you to be. And thirdly, study your faith

00:55:58.140 and study, catechize yourself on the enemy and the kinds of things that he likes. And then you're

00:56:05.960 prepared. And, you know, one of the things to put in a plug for this podcast again, this is exactly one

00:56:12.200 of the areas. I mean, I tackle all of the areas. I elaborate. The entire thing is the entire podcast,

00:56:20.300 the entire series is an effort to inform people on how to break and end their relationships with Satan

00:56:27.460 and to inform them of how they might be even inadvertently establishing them and to forge

00:56:35.860 more strongly their relationship with God.

00:56:38.320 Father, last question for you. Daily Mass. It's been a bulwark for a lot of people. Your opinion on

00:56:44.180 it and the demon's opinion on it.

00:56:46.120 The seven sacraments are the seven ways Jesus Christ left to heal the world. Period. And so to

00:56:54.940 refuse the sacraments is to refuse God. So they are the ordinary way by which one becomes holy. The

00:57:03.400 ordinary way. God can use extraordinary ways. And he does use them. But this is the ordinary way.

00:57:10.940 So Sunday Mass is a non-negotiable. It's a non-negotiable. The confession when one is in

00:57:19.740 the state of mortal sin is a non-negotiable. Baptizing a baby when the baby is still a newborn

00:57:26.840 is a non-negotiable. It's stupid and crazy that people are waiting months and sometimes years 0.99

00:57:34.980 to baptize a child because, well, we have to wait until Aunt Selma comes from Puerto Rico or from 1.00

00:57:41.220 Belgium in order to be present for the baby to receive the sacrament. This is stupid. You've now 1.00

00:57:45.480 turned it into a human endeavor. You've turned it into something else. It's not about Christ anymore.

00:57:50.980 It's not about God's life-giving gift being given to this child. You've changed it into something else.

00:57:58.480 So daily Mass is not required by the church, but boy, my gosh, it is a way. That daily encounter with

00:58:09.140 Christ in the Eucharist is exorcistic. And it forges us in the way of God. It raises our place for

00:58:18.660 eternity. So the church has taught from time immemorial, and it sanctifies us. And so I encourage

00:58:29.580 all of your viewers, your listeners, to attend daily Mass and to receive the sacrament of confession

00:58:37.220 frequently. You do not need big sins to go to confession. Every encounter with the Lord in

00:58:45.480 confession gives you sanctifying grace, which is the very life of God. Those two practices along

00:58:51.600 with a prayer life, my gosh, you're in great shape. Father Carlos Martins, thank you so much.

00:58:56.680 What a wild ride. If you would close off for us by granting us your blessing, perhaps with one of

00:59:02.280 the relics, if you have one. I will certainly do that. But one thing I'm going to say is on the

00:59:06.100 website of exorcistfiles.tv, at the very bottom, there is an email signup that your viewers,

00:59:12.680 in order to sign up for the podcast, they can choose to add their emails in there.

00:59:18.020 When the podcasts are released, they will be informed by email that that is the case. They

00:59:23.020 will also receive instructions on how to download them if they need those instructions. That will be

00:59:29.400 given by email. So may Almighty God bless you, John Henry, your family members, your listeners and

00:59:37.280 viewers, and all of those who are beloved by God, who need the Christian message that is everybody.

00:59:45.500 May God bless you, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

00:59:49.040 Amen. God bless you, Father. Thank you. For all of you, exorcistfiles.tv. Go check it out
