00:00:00.000 Today on the Matt Wall Show, as prominent Democrats openly advocate for eugenics and Canada drastically expands its euthanasia program, we'll take a look at the origins and intentions of the left's war on human life.
00:00:11.700 Also, some exciting updates on our rally tomorrow in Nashville.
00:00:15.060 Plus, speaking of exciting, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez continues to be shouted down by angry constituents at her town hall events, and I think it's just great.
00:00:22.860 Also, test scores have fallen dramatically in the public school system.
00:00:25.980 They're still blaming it on the pandemic, but I think there's a lot more to the story.
00:00:28.940 In our daily cancellation, a congressional candidate offers a bizarre defense of what she calls our, quote, right to sex.
00:00:35.600 We'll talk about all that and much more today on the Matt Wall Show.
00:00:47.460 Roe versus Wade has been overturned, and this battle is now finally leaving D.C. and going to the grassroots.
00:00:53.580 No group in America is better positioned than 40 Days for Life for this fight.
00:00:57.580 With about a million volunteers in 1,000 cities, 40 Days for Life holds peaceful vigils outside abortion facilities.
00:01:04.220 They have a larger presence in blue states, with California being their largest state.
00:01:07.680 Some former abortion facility directors say these vigils can cause the abortion no-show rate to go as high as 75%, which is detrimental to their abortion business.
00:01:16.060 These law-abiding vigils have closed many abortion businesses in America, and nearly half of those closed abortion facilities were in liberal cities, where abortions remain and will remain legal, including closures in San Francisco, Chicago, and Seattle.
00:01:29.140 40 Days for Life is effectively changing hearts and minds in the grassroots to end abortion.
00:01:33.080 You can check out their locations, podcasts, and free magazine at 40daysforlife.com.
00:01:38.840 And it's important that you support 40 Days for Life and their work, because as we know, even with the end of Roe v. Wade, this fight is far from over.
00:01:46.300 So, for more information on 40 Days for Life, go to 40daysforlife.com.
00:01:50.140 So, yesterday we briefly discussed comments made by Stacey Abrams, where she proposed a novel solution to our economic woes.
00:01:58.060 As Abrams explained, all we need to do is just kill more children.
00:02:02.880 And in case you missed that clip, well, here it is again.
00:02:06.300 You're running for governor of Georgia.
00:02:08.420 I would assume, maybe incorrectly, but while abortion is an issue, it nowhere reaches the level of interest of voters in terms of the cost of gas, food, bread, milk, things like that.
00:02:23.380 What can a governor, what could you do as governor to alleviate the concerns of Georgia voters about those livability, daily, hourly issues that they're confronted with?
00:02:33.780 But let's be clear. Having children is why you're worried about your price for gas.
00:02:39.600 It's why you're concerned about how much food costs.
00:02:42.180 For women, this is not a reductive issue.
00:02:44.640 You can't divorce being forced to carry an unwanted pregnancy from the economic realities of having a child.
00:02:52.320 And so, it's important for us to have both and conversations.
00:02:56.580 We don't have the luxury of reducing it or separating them out, but we also have to talk about what a governor can do.
00:03:02.260 A governor can address housing prices.
00:03:04.820 A governor can address the cost of education.
00:03:07.520 A governor can put money into the pockets of everyday hardworking Georgians instead of giving tax cuts to the wealthy.
00:03:13.580 That's what I talk about on the trail, and that's what's resonating.
00:03:16.900 But let's not pretend that women, half the population, especially those of childbearing age, they understand that having a child is absolutely an economic issue.
00:03:27.420 Now, I called this a novel solution, but of course, that isn't really true.
00:03:32.000 There's nothing novel about it.
00:03:33.200 The Democrat Party has always promoted abortion as a path to financial security, and the logic is simple.
00:03:38.800 It's morally depraved, but simple.
00:03:41.080 Kids cost money.
00:03:42.800 Get rid of the kids.
00:03:44.620 Get rid of the expense.
00:03:46.840 Financial prosperity awaits, allegedly, even though it doesn't actually work out that way.
00:03:50.900 This is the eugenic engine that has driven the pro-abortion movement since its inception.
00:03:57.460 It's just that only recently have the pro-aborts started to once again be more open in their eugenicism advocacy.
00:04:03.560 And I say once again because years ago, before the movement went through a series of rebrands and they started talking more about so-called reproductive health and all the rest of it,
00:04:13.440 before that, the pro-abortion movement used to be much more direct and explicit about all of this and about the fact that it was advocating for eugenics.
00:04:21.700 Back in 1969, the vice president of Planned Parenthood at the time, Frederick Jaff, at the request of an organization called the Population Council,
00:04:30.900 produced a memo with a number of recommendations for how the government could control population growth.
00:04:37.440 This is the Jaff memo, as it's now called, and it outlines a series of strategies, all falling under four broad categories.
00:04:44.260 And those categories are social constraints, economic deterrence, social controls, and preventing unwanted pregnancy.
00:04:52.600 So just to highlight a few here, and we put the memo up on screen so you can see it yourself, just a few.
00:04:59.380 Jaff suggested restructuring the family, encouraging people to postpone or avoid marriage.
00:05:06.500 He coupled this with compulsory government education and an encouragement of increased homosexuality.
00:05:13.400 He also recommended that women should work outside the home.
00:05:16.720 Under the deterrent category, he listed a number of strategies, including the brilliant idea that the government could reduce population by fostering, quote, chronic depression.
00:05:28.700 That's actually on the memo.
00:05:30.960 Elsewhere in the memo, he recommends the wide distribution of contraception, along with sterilization, and, of course, tax-funded abortion.
00:05:37.400 Now, some of his ideas, like compulsory abortion for out-of-wedlock pregnancies, that's one of the things that he advocated, that hasn't yet come to pass, but a great many of them have.
00:05:51.000 In fact, all the rest of the ones that I just listed have.
00:05:54.540 So the eugenicists, they told us exactly what they were going to do and why they were going to do it, and then they did it and are still doing it now.
00:06:06.140 It took them several decades, but Planned Parenthood, they even found a way to implement their mass sterilization plan.
00:06:11.960 Under the guise of gender affirmation, they now provide sterilization drugs to children.
00:06:16.060 So that is yet another box on the Jaff memo, which has been checked off.
00:06:21.920 This was the dystopian future that Planned Parenthood predicted and advocated for and fought to establish, and now we're living in it.
00:06:33.760 Actually, we're living in something far beyond it, we might say, because somewhat surprisingly,
00:06:37.860 Frederick Jaff never thought of, or at least didn't include in his memo, the idea of simply just killing off large numbers of adults and calling it a medical treatment.
00:06:49.320 Put them down like dogs.
00:06:51.800 Euthanasia did not factor into his calculations, not on the memo anyway.
00:06:56.300 Perhaps he didn't have an imagination twisted enough to conjure up possibilities like that at the time.
00:07:01.240 And yet, at some point in the years following, the eugenicists did arrive at this conclusion,
00:07:07.060 and now the death merchants are rapidly expanding their war on human life.
00:07:11.800 Last week, I told you about a report from a journalist named Rupa Subramanya,
00:07:15.620 who reveals the extent of the euthanasia regime in Canada, or the medical assistance in dying, as they call it there.
00:07:23.620 She chronicles the plight of one distraught mother, you may recall,
00:07:26.780 who's fighting to prevent her 23-year-old son from killing himself through euthanasia.
00:07:32.400 Her son, like so many of the other doctor-assisted suicide, quote, patients in Canada, is not terminally ill.
00:07:38.780 Terminally ill.
00:07:39.360 He's just depressed, and he no longer wants to live.
00:07:44.140 Rather than provide him with mental and emotional counseling, his doctors are simply going to kill him.
00:07:50.740 That's their way around it.
00:07:51.760 Unless his mother can stop it, though, she has no real legal means of doing so.
00:07:58.040 In fact, the euthanasia laws are expanding so much in Canada and are becoming so permissive
00:08:03.220 that by early next year, they're expected to start killing minors without parental consent.
00:08:10.500 Although, even if they did it with parental consent, that would be no less horrifying.
00:08:14.880 So, Rupa provides more details on just how pervasive this has become in the country.
00:08:19.520 Reading now, she says, in 2017, the first full year in which MAID, which is medical assistance
00:08:24.900 in dying, which is administered by provincial governments, was an operation, 2,838 people
00:08:30.500 opted for assisted suicide, according to a government report.
00:08:32.880 By 2021, that figure had jumped to 10,064, accounting for more than 3% of all deaths in Canada that year.
00:08:40.940 There have been a total of 31,664 MAID deaths, and the large majority of those were people
00:08:49.260 between the ages of 65 to 80 when they died.
00:08:52.680 In 2017, only 34 MAID deaths were in the 18 to 45-year-old category.
00:08:58.400 In 2018, that figure rose to at least 49.
00:09:01.780 In 2019, it was 103.
00:09:03.920 In 2020, it was 118.
00:09:05.860 And in 2021, it was 139.
00:09:08.720 Today, thousands of people who could live for many years are applying successfully to kill
00:09:12.680 themselves.
00:09:13.200 Indeed, in some Canadian provinces, nearly 5% of deaths are MAID deaths.
00:09:18.800 5%.
00:09:19.360 In 2021, the province of Quebec reported that 4.7% of deaths in the province were due to MAID.
00:09:27.080 In British Columbia, the number was 4.8%.
00:09:30.200 Progressive Vancouver Island is officially, or rather unofficially known, as the assisted
00:09:35.440 death capital of the world, according to doctors.
00:09:39.040 Now, the other thing to understand is that those who apply for doctor-assisted suicide
00:09:43.220 can have their applications accepted quickly.
00:09:47.380 The process is streamlined.
00:09:50.560 Now, what that means is that you'll have better luck in Canada getting accepted for euthanasia
00:09:57.460 than you would for, say, getting a building permit to put an addition on your house.
00:10:03.160 There's usually tons of red tape, and it takes forever to get approval from anything through
00:10:07.600 the bureaucracy.
00:10:08.380 And that's the case in Canada and the United States, of course.
00:10:11.420 But if you want to kill yourself, well, they'll get you through that process quickly.
00:10:16.160 The AP reported this a few months ago.
00:10:18.020 Quote,
00:10:18.580 Alan Nichols had a history of depression and other medical issues, but none were life-threatening.
00:10:23.000 When the 61-year-old Canadian was hospitalized in June 2019 over fears he might be suicidal,
00:10:29.180 he asked his brother to bust him out as soon as possible.
00:10:33.280 Within a month, Nichols submitted a request to be euthanized, and he was killed.
00:10:38.060 Within a month, submitted the request, and was killed.
00:10:41.340 Within a month, despite concerns raised by his family and a nurse practitioner.
00:10:45.280 His application for euthanasia listed only one health condition as the reason for his request
00:10:49.940 to die, hearing loss.
00:10:51.620 Nichols' family reported the case to police and health authorities, arguing that he lacked
00:10:56.440 the capacity to understand the process and was not suffering unbearably among the requirements
00:11:01.080 for euthanasia.
00:11:02.240 They say he was not taking needed medication, wasn't using the implant that helped him hear,
00:11:06.840 and that hospital staffers improperly helped him request euthanasia.
00:11:11.460 Now, think about that for a second.
00:11:12.780 He was sent to the doctor, he was sent to the hospital because he was suicidal, and his
00:11:18.560 family thought the hospital would help save him from suicide, and instead, according to
00:11:22.600 the family, the staff at the hospital helped him kill himself.
00:11:28.940 They killed this man because he had hearing loss.
00:11:32.100 They'll also kill you in Canada if you're homeless.
00:11:34.340 City News has a report about a 54-year-old man named Amir Farsoud in Ontario.
00:11:40.260 He applied for medical assistance in dying and has already received one of the two doctor's
00:11:45.400 letters of approval that he needs, all because he is potentially about to be homeless.
00:11:51.200 Here's their report.
00:11:51.920 How would you describe the quality of your life?
00:11:56.520 Um, awful, non-existent, terrible.
00:12:00.240 I do nothing other than sort of manage symptoms, manage pain.
00:12:04.660 Ugh!
00:12:05.980 There we go.
00:12:07.240 Amir Farsoud lives with never-ending agony from a back injury.
00:12:11.480 How bad does it get?
00:12:12.900 Um, at worst, it gets bad enough that I'm crying like a five-year-old and not sleeping for
00:12:18.280 two days in a row.
00:12:19.020 But that's not why he has applied for medically-assisted dying, otherwise known as MAID.
00:12:25.340 Nor is it the depression he lives with.
00:12:27.680 Farsoud has applied because he is in danger of losing his housing.
00:12:31.700 He lives in this St. Catherine's rooming house, sharing this space with two other people.
00:12:36.540 But it is up for sale.
00:12:38.200 Farsoud lives on social assistance and says he can't find anywhere else he can afford.
00:12:43.720 I don't want to die, but I don't want to be homeless more than I don't want to die.
00:12:47.020 Medically-assisted dying in Canada was expanded this past March to include people with disabilities
00:12:52.840 or those suffering in pain, even if they are not close to death.
00:12:57.300 Now, the thing to remember about this is that it is not as though all of these people would
00:13:05.720 have killed themselves anyway.
00:13:08.100 And all Canada is doing is providing them a painless way of killing themselves.
00:13:15.120 Now, if that were the case, it would still be horrifying.
00:13:18.040 It would still be a horrifying reality.
00:13:21.220 But it's not the case.
00:13:23.560 You know, there's more people are killing themselves.
00:13:26.080 People who would not have otherwise.
00:13:27.520 People who would have fought on and continued living and found a way to keep living and to
00:13:34.220 deal with their problems.
00:13:36.380 Someone like this, for example.
00:13:38.300 I mean, homelessness is a very real problem.
00:13:41.160 And if you're going through that or being threatened with something like that or you're worried
00:13:45.440 about the possibility of that, to call it distressing, of course, would be an understatement.
00:13:51.000 But you can live through it.
00:13:52.200 You could fight through it.
00:13:53.420 There's still hope.
00:13:54.700 There's light at the end of the tunnel.
00:13:57.260 And a great many of these people, they would, if they didn't have this system in place to
00:14:02.040 just usher them off the planet, usher them out of their own lives, if that system wasn't
00:14:09.060 in place, many of these people would continue living.
00:14:12.020 So I think Stacey Abrams, when she sees that, she'd be proud.
00:14:16.140 Because rather than make the country, our country, more livable for children, Abrams
00:14:20.080 suggests that we simply kill them.
00:14:22.060 And in Canada, rather than address the homelessness problem, they'll just start exterminating them.
00:14:29.200 Rather than address the problem of depression and despair and mental illness, just kill them
00:14:36.260 all.
00:14:36.400 They're not going to concern themselves with coming up with policies or strategies that
00:14:42.220 may help human beings be happy and flourish.
00:14:45.140 No, in fact, it's the opposite.
00:14:48.380 Because human flourishing is a negative in their minds.
00:14:53.220 According to the powers that be, according to the leftists, human flourishing is a negative.
00:14:58.500 It's the opposite of what they desire.
00:15:01.500 Human flourishing, as the Jaff memo showed in 1969, is the problem that they seek to solve.
00:15:08.220 And they have spent decades solving it.
00:15:13.580 Now let's get to our five headlines.
00:15:15.020 I love finding easy ways to support a healthy routine, which is why I'm so excited about
00:15:25.480 tart cherry gummies.

00:15:47.700 or 100 cherries.
00:15:49.840 So put all that tart cherry juice away.
00:15:52.000 You don't need it.
00:15:52.740 All you need are the gummies.
00:15:54.220 Formulated by a team of scientists led by Nobel Prize winning doctors, tart cherry has been
00:15:58.820 clinically studied to support metabolic health.
00:16:01.320 I had tart cherry gummies for the first time the other day after finishing up a workout and
00:16:05.060 I could really feel the difference.
00:16:06.900 Plus, they're delicious.

00:16:34.580 These statements and products have not been evaluated by the FDA.
00:16:37.100 These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition.
00:16:41.660 All right.
00:16:42.800 So here's an announcement for you that I'll deliver by way of this Daily Wire report.
00:16:47.660 Former Congresswoman and Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard will be speaking at a
00:16:52.060 Friday rally to end child mutilation led by Daily Wire host Matt Walsh.
00:16:56.540 That's me.
00:16:57.080 At the Tennessee state capitol, Gabbard, who introduced a bill in Congress in December 2020
00:17:02.780 that would have banned biological males from competing in women's sports, joins a host of
00:17:06.380 other high-profile speakers who are scheduled to attend the rally in Nashville.
00:17:11.020 So that's the announcement is that Tulsi Gabbard is going to be speaking as well at the rally.
00:17:17.100 So we've got a wide range, and I think this is great.
00:17:20.880 We've got a wide range of people represented, speaking at this rally.
00:17:26.960 Tulsi Gabbard is going to be there.
00:17:28.460 Senator Marsha Blackburn will be speaking.
00:17:30.760 We're going to have a couple different state lawmakers here in Tennessee who are heading up
00:17:36.100 the fight to actually ban child mutilation in the state.
00:17:44.360 Dr. Colin Wright's going to be there.
00:17:46.480 Chloe Cole, who's a detransitioner and an activist, is going to be there.
00:17:49.760 Scott Nugent from What is a Woman also will be speaking at the rally.
00:17:56.120 And many more as well.
00:17:57.500 So this is going to be, as I said, a wide range of people, lots of voices represented.
00:18:03.620 And that's what the left wants, right?
00:18:04.720 That's what they say they want.
00:18:05.580 You want, representation is so important.
00:18:08.260 Well, we're going to have that at this rally.
00:18:11.980 A lot of different types of people speaking, different backgrounds, but all of us with the
00:18:17.580 same goal to protect children from being horrifically abused and mutilated.
00:18:22.340 Once again, that's four o'clock outside the state capitol in Nashville.
00:18:28.220 Obviously, the larger the crowd, the better, because we're trying.
00:18:32.040 Again, this is not just about pushing for a law here in Tennessee to make this kind of thing illegal.
00:18:41.000 That's a big part of the plan.
00:18:42.760 That is what we're advocating for.
00:18:44.820 But it goes beyond that as well.
00:18:46.780 You know, this is about building a national movement to protect children and also to just stand for basic truth and moral decency.
00:18:58.420 So, really hope to see you all there.
00:19:02.660 Moving on to this, AOC is having more trouble at her town hall events.
00:19:08.180 And let's, we saw the footage last week.
00:19:11.780 She was at a town hall event, sparsely attended, and she was being shouted down by protesters.
00:19:17.860 There's protesters from the left who are accusing her of being a warmonger, going along with the United States, you know, involvement in Ukraine and accusing her of being part of the problem, ushering us towards potentially nuclear conflict.
00:19:32.800 All of that is true.
00:19:34.460 And here, once again, she's at another town hall event.
00:19:37.820 And the audience, not big fans, it would seem.
00:19:40.980 Let's check this out.
00:19:41.780 Ma'am, you're saying ask us why y'all been talking for 20 minutes, okay?
00:19:46.340 We know why.
00:19:47.500 We know why you're mad.
00:19:49.060 Let's talk about it.
00:19:50.880 Let's talk about it.
00:20:06.960 I see a procrastination here.
00:20:09.220 Okay
00:20:11.240 Somebody cut the lights out
00:20:16.140 You know, there is a slightly bigger crowd
00:20:23.480 So that's good at least for her
00:20:26.460 Now she's standing outside the building
00:20:31.040 Now she comes back in
00:20:32.200 Alright
00:20:33.380 So you get the idea
00:20:36.500 Crowd not happy
00:20:39.300 So it's slightly bigger
00:20:40.120 Now at the town hall event last week
00:20:42.340 It was a room about that size
00:20:44.060 And there were maybe five people sitting in the room
00:20:46.080 And in this case
00:20:47.680 She's got a good solid crowd
00:20:49.380 Of probably 20 or 30 people
00:20:50.600 So give her some credit for that
00:20:52.040 That's nice
00:20:53.040 But it seems like a certain portion of that crowd
00:20:55.620 Are only there because they want to yell at her
00:20:56.980 Which once again
00:20:58.320 I think that's fantastic
00:21:00.120 This is the treatment that politicians deserve
00:21:03.760 Now in many other contexts
00:21:05.440 If you're going to watch a speech
00:21:08.320 Or a talk
00:21:08.940 Or a panel discussion
00:21:09.900 Or something like that
00:21:10.940 You shouldn't be in the audience
00:21:12.480 Screaming and shouting and disrupting
00:21:14.080 You shouldn't be doing that
00:21:14.820 Even if it's leftists up on the stage
00:21:17.880 But with politicians
00:21:19.940 Totally different ballgame
00:21:22.480 And when it's a politician like AOC
00:21:25.340 This is the treatment that she should be getting
00:21:27.560 People should be yelling at her
00:21:29.420 And basically showing as much respect for her
00:21:34.340 As she shows for them
00:21:35.960 Which is none at all
00:21:37.820 That's the way it's supposed to work
00:21:40.200 Like in theory
00:21:41.840 Right?
00:21:42.860 These are public servants
00:21:44.140 So in theory they work for us
00:21:46.240 And the respect should come that way
00:21:51.220 You show respect for us
00:21:52.680 And maybe we'll return it to you
00:21:54.060 But if you don't have any respect for us
00:21:55.160 We're not going to have respect for you
00:21:56.160 This is a
00:21:59.200 That's what a healthy democracy looks like
00:22:02.640 That
00:22:02.880 What you just saw there
00:22:03.740 That's what a healthy democracy looks like
00:22:06.640 And sounds like
00:22:07.880 Ineffectual
00:22:10.040 Worthless
00:22:11.680 Useless politicians
00:22:12.760 Being yelled at by their constituents
00:22:14.540 It's a beautiful thing
00:22:15.460 It's music for my ears
00:22:16.160 I love it
00:22:16.700 And she has nothing to offer them
00:22:20.840 She has nothing to say to them
00:22:22.900 This is what we talked about in the opening
00:22:25.740 As a far left democrat
00:22:27.860 She's not worried about
00:22:30.220 What's going on in their lives
00:22:31.420 She's not worried about
00:22:32.360 You know
00:22:33.340 Helping them flourish
00:22:35.260 Which is what she should be doing
00:22:37.120 She should be advocating policies
00:22:39.060 That are all directed towards
00:22:40.960 Human flourishing
00:22:42.620 But she has
00:22:46.160 The opposite intentions
00:22:47.720 And they're letting her know about it
00:22:49.620 Since we're on the subject of
00:22:50.660 Democrats embarrassing themselves
00:22:51.900 I want to just throw this in as well
00:22:53.360 Briefly
00:22:54.040 Here's a South Carolina
00:22:55.200 Democratic
00:22:55.660 Congressional candidate
00:22:57.320 Named Annie Andrews
00:22:59.540 In a debate
00:23:00.860 I think this was this week
00:23:01.980 And she was asked
00:23:04.060 Who will pay for
00:23:05.540 The healthcare plan
00:23:07.000 That she has outlined
00:23:08.300 And let's
00:23:09.140 Watch that exchange
00:23:10.100 And who pays for your plan
00:23:12.280 Dr. Andrews
00:23:12.960 30 seconds
00:23:13.620 I'm sorry
00:23:14.240 Who pays for your plan
00:23:15.440 How would that plan be paid for
00:23:17.500 So we just
00:23:18.640 We need to focus
00:23:19.820 On delivering high quality
00:23:21.480 Healthcare
00:23:22.380 That focuses on prevention
00:23:23.860 And that becomes
00:23:25.000 More affordable
00:23:26.260 We need to get
00:23:27.960 Big pharma
00:23:28.760 And big insurance
00:23:29.940 Out of this
00:23:31.180 So that we can focus
00:23:32.520 On our patients
00:23:33.640 And delivering high quality
00:23:34.880 Preventable healthcare
00:23:35.800 Which is evidence based
00:23:37.900 And cost effective
00:23:39.080 So not answering the question
00:23:41.020 Who pays for the plan
00:23:42.100 I'm sorry
00:23:42.480 What was that
00:23:42.940 Who pays for the plan
00:23:43.740 Sorry I can't hear you
00:23:44.600 I
00:23:45.040 This guy
00:23:45.740 Water clogged
00:23:46.440 In my ears
00:23:46.800 I was
00:23:47.080 I took a bath earlier
00:23:48.280 And I
00:23:48.480 Well the answer is
00:23:50.760 Of course the taxpayers
00:23:51.480 Pay for
00:23:51.880 Which doesn't want to
00:23:52.340 Say that out loud
00:23:53.040 For some reason
00:23:57.260 They're
00:23:57.600 They're always quite hesitant
00:23:59.020 To actually say out loud
00:24:00.600 That well here
00:24:01.040 Here are all of our plans
00:24:02.900 And by the way
00:24:04.640 All of this is coming
00:24:05.620 Directly out of your pocket
00:24:07.000 Of course the reason
00:24:07.940 They don't want to say that
00:24:08.700 Is because they
00:24:09.380 Present all of these ideas
00:24:11.340 Especially when it comes
00:24:12.000 To something like healthcare
00:24:12.720 They present it as
00:24:14.040 Oh we're giving this
00:24:14.860 To you for free
00:24:15.540 We're going to provide you
00:24:16.520 With free healthcare
00:24:17.700 Free this
00:24:18.220 Free that
00:24:18.720 Well if they then
00:24:20.300 Have to admit
00:24:20.940 That you are
00:24:23.260 Paying for the free thing
00:24:25.060 Then you'll quickly
00:24:25.680 Understand that it's
00:24:26.280 Not free at all
00:24:26.980 All right
00:24:28.980 A couple of stories here
00:24:29.800 Having to do with
00:24:30.360 The situation
00:24:30.940 In our school system
00:24:32.600 First
00:24:32.900 Tim Ryan in Ohio
00:24:34.060 Hopefully about to lose
00:24:35.780 To J.D. Vance
00:24:37.060 In a couple of weeks here
00:24:37.840 Has this to say
00:24:39.180 About our schools
00:24:40.260 We have to have
00:24:42.400 Honest conversations about
00:24:43.860 And we've got people
00:24:44.780 Who want to turn our schools
00:24:46.200 When we should be focused
00:24:47.620 On shot class
00:24:48.980 And trauma informed care
00:24:50.600 And robust investments
00:24:51.940 Into joint vocational schools
00:24:53.560 They want to turn our schools
00:24:56.620 Into the next battleground
00:24:58.140 In the culture wars
00:24:59.140 We can't let them
00:25:01.160 We can't let them
00:25:02.860 It's up to us
00:25:04.840 Yeah oh we're
00:25:07.200 We are turning the schools
00:25:08.400 Into a battleground
00:25:09.440 In the culture war
00:25:10.240 We're doing that
00:25:11.440 So on the left
00:25:12.980 They're putting
00:25:13.560 Pornographic material
00:25:14.480 In the schools
00:25:15.140 And they're
00:25:16.420 You know
00:25:17.280 They want to have
00:25:18.880 Conversations about
00:25:19.880 Gender identity
00:25:20.720 And transgenderism
00:25:21.740 With kindergartners
00:25:23.420 And they want that
00:25:25.040 So badly
00:25:25.520 That if
00:25:26.060 Say in Florida
00:25:26.960 You pass a law
00:25:28.220 That simply says
00:25:29.120 You can't talk about
00:25:30.020 Transgenderism
00:25:31.180 With kids
00:25:31.980 Between K
00:25:33.420 Through third grade
00:25:34.460 If you do that
00:25:35.360 They're gonna
00:25:35.640 The left loses
00:25:36.760 Their mind about it
00:25:37.580 And hasn't stopped
00:25:38.060 Losing their mind over it
00:25:38.860 So that's what
00:25:39.680 They're doing
00:25:39.980 But we're the ones
00:25:40.740 Turning it into
00:25:41.360 A battleground
00:25:41.880 In the culture war
00:25:42.500 And am I saying
00:25:46.560 That the left
00:25:47.060 On their own
00:25:47.660 Has made education
00:25:48.560 A battleground
00:25:49.420 In the culture war
00:25:50.080 No I wouldn't
00:25:51.140 Even say that
00:25:51.820 I mean it's education
00:25:53.960 That we're talking about
00:25:54.960 Inevitably
00:25:56.040 It's going to be
00:25:56.760 A battleground
00:25:57.520 In the culture war
00:25:58.680 Because the education system
00:26:01.380 Determines so much
00:26:03.060 Of our culture
00:26:05.600 The education system
00:26:07.780 To a large extent
00:26:08.880 Shapes our culture
00:26:10.860 Decides
00:26:11.480 What the culture is
00:26:13.520 And so if there's
00:26:16.440 A culture war
00:26:17.220 It's going to end up
00:26:18.100 In the school system
00:26:18.940 Inevitably
00:26:19.980 Speaking of the school system
00:26:22.860 Axios has this report
00:26:24.480 The average ACT test score
00:26:26.720 For students
00:26:27.240 In the class of 2022
00:26:28.660 Dropped to its lowest level
00:26:30.600 In more than three decades
00:26:31.920 According to
00:26:32.520 Information out on Wednesday
00:26:34.460 The decline in scores
00:26:35.980 Is the latest indicator
00:26:37.760 Of the pandemic's
00:26:38.980 Detrimental effects
00:26:40.120 On the nation's students
00:26:41.520 And underscores the extent
00:26:43.000 To which graduating
00:26:44.180 High school students
00:26:44.860 Are ill prepared for college
00:26:46.400 ACT CEO Janet Godwin
00:26:49.140 Says the magnitude
00:26:50.220 Of the declines this year
00:26:51.560 Is particularly alarming
00:26:53.220 As we see rapidly growing
00:26:55.920 Numbers of seniors
00:26:56.680 Leaving high school
00:26:57.500 Without meeting
00:26:58.140 The college readiness
00:26:59.060 Benchmark in any
00:27:00.220 Of the subjects we measure
00:27:01.280 The national average
00:27:03.580 Composite score
00:27:04.420 For graduating seniors
00:27:05.440 In 2022
00:27:06.000 Was 19.8 out of 36
00:27:08.540 Which is the lowest score
00:27:09.940 Since 1991
00:27:10.900 And down from 20.3
00:27:13.080 For graduating seniors
00:27:14.100 In 2021
00:27:15.500 In addition
00:27:16.460 42% of students
00:27:17.520 Failed to meet
00:27:18.080 Any of the ACT's
00:27:19.320 Subject benchmarks
00:27:20.860 In English, reading, science
00:27:22.360 And math
00:27:22.780 Which are the minimum
00:27:23.720 Test scores required
00:27:24.620 For students to have
00:27:25.200 A reasonable chance
00:27:25.880 Of success
00:27:26.360 In typical first year
00:27:27.380 College courses
00:27:28.180 Then there's this part
00:27:31.860 Which is important
00:27:32.740 ACT test scores
00:27:35.000 Have been on the decline
00:27:35.920 For at least five years
00:27:37.020 Godwin said
00:27:37.540 Adding that it is
00:27:38.260 A worrisome trend
00:27:39.140 That began long before
00:27:40.500 The disruption of the
00:27:41.260 COVID-19 pandemic
00:27:42.180 And has persisted
00:27:43.140 Okay
00:27:43.660 That's an important
00:27:44.940 Qualifier here
00:27:46.100 Because when you hear
00:27:46.820 This claim
00:27:47.920 That the pandemic
00:27:50.040 Has caused test scores
00:27:51.620 To go down
00:27:52.320 And kids are less ready
00:27:53.580 For college
00:27:54.180 Or whatever
00:27:54.560 First of all
00:27:56.600 The pandemic
00:27:57.180 Didn't do any of that
00:27:59.540 The pandemic itself
00:28:01.380 Had no effect
00:28:03.000 On test scores
00:28:03.720 That's not how
00:28:04.960 Pandemics work
00:28:05.840 The pandemics
00:28:07.480 Aren't going to make
00:28:08.000 Test scores
00:28:08.620 Take a nosedive
00:28:09.560 Pandemics don't have
00:28:10.960 Anything to do
00:28:11.400 With test scores
00:28:12.040 This is
00:28:13.620 If it's related
00:28:14.140 To the pandemic
00:28:14.740 At all
00:28:15.180 It's about how
00:28:16.000 We responded
00:28:17.100 To the pandemic
00:28:18.000 And when I say we
00:28:19.300 I don't mean we
00:28:19.840 I mean the government
00:28:20.740 It's what the government
00:28:22.120 Did and what the
00:28:23.340 School system did
00:28:24.180 It's part of the government
00:28:25.380 In response to the pandemic
00:28:27.580 Shutting down schools
00:28:29.860 For a year
00:28:30.420 And in some cases
00:28:31.260 Almost two years
00:28:32.140 You didn't have to do that
00:28:34.940 They decided to do that
00:28:36.180 And obviously
00:28:37.960 When you shut down
00:28:38.660 The schools
00:28:39.100 For extended periods
00:28:40.000 Of time
00:28:40.440 You are going to see
00:28:42.600 Kids performing
00:28:44.120 You're going to see
00:28:45.760 Academic performance
00:28:46.800 Decline
00:28:47.280 It's not a surprise
00:28:49.200 And it is
00:28:52.440 Incredibly frustrating
00:28:55.160 To read stories
00:28:56.840 Like this in the media
00:28:57.780 Especially because
00:28:59.820 There's always this
00:29:01.000 Tone of surprise
00:29:02.620 To it
00:29:03.080 Shock and surprise
00:29:05.060 And alarm
00:29:05.680 And they're raising
00:29:06.760 The alarm now
00:29:07.600 And say oh
00:29:08.040 Look what happened
00:29:09.020 Because of the pandemic
00:29:10.220 Response
00:29:10.720 Yeah we told all of you
00:29:14.180 That in the beginning
00:29:15.480 We told you that
00:29:17.300 From day one
00:29:18.300 That this would happen
00:29:19.540 And we were shouted down
00:29:22.420 For years
00:29:24.120 And now you come along
00:29:28.880 When it's too late
00:29:29.800 And say oh
00:29:31.660 Okay you were right
00:29:32.620 About that
00:29:33.000 Only you're not even
00:29:33.840 Saying you were right
00:29:34.420 You're not acknowledging
00:29:35.100 That we were right
00:29:35.780 But also it's important
00:29:40.480 To note as it does
00:29:41.060 At the end there
00:29:41.460 That we've been trending
00:29:42.160 In the wrong direction
00:29:42.940 For years
00:29:43.500 So the pandemic
00:29:44.820 Response
00:29:45.460 Not the pandemic
00:29:46.260 The pandemic response
00:29:47.460 Aggravated or exacerbated
00:29:50.220 A problem that already
00:29:51.200 Existed
00:29:51.720 So this is
00:29:55.280 You can't even put it all
00:29:56.640 On the pandemic response
00:29:57.640 The education system
00:30:00.420 Is failing
00:30:01.100 And has been failing
00:30:02.740 For years
00:30:03.560 And has for years
00:30:04.980 Been trending
00:30:05.560 In exactly the wrong direction
00:30:07.140 And I say all that
00:30:09.580 Even though I don't
00:30:10.960 I don't like
00:30:12.080 Standardized tests
00:30:13.140 I'm skeptical
00:30:14.180 About tests
00:30:15.000 In general
00:30:15.880 As a means of
00:30:16.940 Gauging a student's
00:30:17.880 Grasp on the subject
00:30:18.920 I certainly don't agree
00:30:22.080 With teaching to the test
00:30:23.440 As all of the schools do
00:30:25.240 That's the way
00:30:27.020 The system is set up
00:30:28.080 That the goal
00:30:31.360 Of any class
00:30:32.680 It's not really
00:30:33.580 To help kids
00:30:34.300 Have a grasp
00:30:34.860 On the subject matter
00:30:35.760 It's not to make them
00:30:37.440 More knowledgeable
00:30:38.080 And intelligent certainly
00:30:39.240 It's just to make sure
00:30:40.780 That they can score well
00:30:41.860 On the test
00:30:42.500 And then head off
00:30:45.020 To the four year institution
00:30:46.060 That's what the entire
00:30:47.360 System is set up for
00:30:48.280 Score well
00:30:49.360 On the test
00:30:49.800 Go spend six figures
00:30:52.260 On a four year institution
00:30:53.360 That's it
00:30:55.480 I don't agree
00:30:57.580 With any of that
00:30:58.220 I don't think
00:30:59.500 That should be the goal
00:31:00.300 Of the education system
00:31:01.260 And again
00:31:01.880 I am extremely skeptical
00:31:03.680 Of standardized tests
00:31:05.200 And the idea
00:31:06.080 That you can
00:31:06.840 Sufficiently gauge
00:31:08.920 A student's
00:31:09.680 Grasp and understanding
00:31:10.580 Of the subject
00:31:11.000 Through a test
00:31:11.880 I think what you're
00:31:13.000 Actually gauging
00:31:13.980 Is the ability
00:31:15.160 Of a student
00:31:15.880 To memorize
00:31:17.280 Certain bits
00:31:18.120 Of information
00:31:18.700 And regurgitate
00:31:19.920 Them onto
00:31:20.820 You know
00:31:22.240 A
00:31:22.860 Onto a sheet of paper
00:31:24.520 That's what you're gauging
00:31:25.860 Memorization
00:31:27.980 And regurgitation
00:31:28.800 Which by the way
00:31:30.820 Is a
00:31:31.560 It's a helpful skill
00:31:32.360 To have
00:31:32.840 And it can
00:31:34.920 Come in handy
00:31:35.600 Even later in life
00:31:36.480 But it's
00:31:37.160 It doesn't necessarily
00:31:38.360 Have anything to do
00:31:39.200 With actually
00:31:39.900 Understanding the subject
00:31:40.980 Which is why
00:31:43.460 You can have kids
00:31:44.540 Who make it
00:31:45.400 Through school
00:31:45.960 And get really
00:31:46.540 And get
00:31:47.340 Admirable grades
00:31:49.420 And they perform
00:31:50.260 Well on the tests
00:31:50.960 And then they become
00:31:51.940 Adults
00:31:52.300 And you go
00:31:52.740 And you try to
00:31:53.080 Have a conversation
00:31:53.680 With them
00:31:54.140 About any subject
00:31:54.880 At all
00:31:55.280 And it becomes
00:31:56.620 Clear that they
00:31:57.100 Don't know anything
00:31:57.880 They did well
00:32:00.080 On the test
00:32:00.400 But they don't
00:32:00.680 Actually know anything
00:32:01.840 But that's how
00:32:05.060 I feel about it
00:32:05.760 The point is
00:32:06.380 That the school
00:32:07.060 By their own
00:32:08.400 Standards
00:32:09.120 Are failing
00:32:11.200 The schools
00:32:11.920 By their own
00:32:12.380 Standards are failing
00:32:13.120 By their own
00:32:14.440 Strategies they're
00:32:15.200 Failing
00:32:15.440 This is how
00:32:17.380 They've set it up
00:32:18.180 Is that everything
00:32:18.860 Is judged based
00:32:19.680 On the tests
00:32:20.220 And they've set up
00:32:22.420 The entire system
00:32:23.420 That way
00:32:23.740 The entire system
00:32:24.380 Exists for the tests
00:32:25.880 And they can't even
00:32:27.640 And the kids are
00:32:28.480 Still failing on the tests
00:32:29.460 So the schools
00:32:33.220 Are not
00:32:33.840 Not even
00:32:34.600 Just a failure
00:32:35.380 By my
00:32:36.560 Standards
00:32:37.360 Or by the
00:32:38.260 You know
00:32:38.720 By the standards
00:32:39.380 Of people who are
00:32:40.020 Critical
00:32:40.600 Fundamentally critical
00:32:41.420 Of the government
00:32:42.560 Education system
00:32:43.240 But they're even
00:32:44.100 A failure by
00:32:44.740 The school's
00:32:45.300 Own standards
00:32:45.960 All right
00:32:48.760 So you've seen
00:32:49.260 This Dylan
00:32:49.940 Mulvaney fellow
00:32:51.280 Quite a lot
00:32:52.040 He's been selected
00:32:53.360 By the powers
00:32:54.100 That be
00:32:54.640 To be a thing
00:32:56.400 And not just
00:32:57.060 Be a thing
00:32:57.540 But to be
00:32:57.960 The spokesman
00:32:58.980 For womanhood
00:32:59.940 And we've seen
00:33:00.820 A few videos
00:33:01.460 From him
00:33:01.900 I just want to
00:33:02.640 I want you to
00:33:03.060 I want to show you
00:33:03.560 This because
00:33:04.040 This is one of
00:33:04.900 His latest
00:33:05.260 TikTok videos
00:33:06.220 Sponsored by
00:33:07.940 Instacart
00:33:08.700 Okay this dude
00:33:10.340 Has all kinds
00:33:11.420 Of corporate
00:33:11.880 Sponsorships now
00:33:12.840 And this is
00:33:14.780 One of his latest
00:33:15.540 Just watch this
00:33:16.820 You know what I think
00:33:18.800 We need
00:33:19.300 A good old fashioned
00:33:20.900 Sleepover
00:33:21.860 So much of what
00:33:23.760 I'm doing online
00:33:24.600 Is reliving
00:33:25.420 The moments of
00:33:26.280 Girlhood that I
00:33:26.980 Missed out on
00:33:27.800 Including sleepovers
00:33:29.280 Where I could be
00:33:30.500 Silly with my friends
00:33:31.580 All night long
00:33:32.460 Without a care
00:33:33.060 In the world
00:33:33.620 So I put together
00:33:35.120 A Dylan's
00:33:36.040 Sleepover
00:33:36.660 Essentials list
00:33:37.660 On Instacart
00:33:38.560 That y'all can shop
00:33:39.700 To get my
00:33:40.260 Dream sleepover
00:33:41.340 Experience
00:33:42.280 Speaking of
00:33:44.840 My order is here
00:33:45.960 I have the delivery
00:33:48.340 First things first
00:33:49.500 Skincare
00:33:50.340 And I'm warning you
00:33:51.440 Beforehand
00:33:52.060 I eat mostly
00:33:52.940 Junk food
00:33:53.780 But we're having
00:33:54.680 A sleepover
00:33:55.220 So it's allowed
00:33:56.000 The pizza's ready
00:33:57.300 Oh it's hot
00:34:00.520 It's hot
00:34:01.400 I still have room
00:34:02.420 In my dessert stomach
00:34:03.440 So we're having
00:34:04.180 Ice cream
00:34:05.080 I think we start
00:34:06.760 With prank calls
00:34:07.560 And then put a finger down
00:34:08.960 Then we'll go around
00:34:10.060 And manifest all of
00:34:11.120 Our dreams and goals
00:34:11.960 For the rest of the year
00:34:12.980 Then a rom-com
00:34:14.200 And then we can
00:34:14.900 Paint our nails
00:34:15.540 And we're gonna
00:34:16.080 Stay up all night long
00:34:17.820 Visit the link
00:34:18.540 In my bio
00:34:19.140 To shop Dylan's
00:34:20.040 Sleepover Essentials
00:34:21.100 Via Instacart
00:34:22.000 Now
00:34:22.440 Love ya
00:34:23.460 I have to remind you again
00:34:30.840 Not that you need a reminder
00:34:32.920 It's quite obvious
00:34:33.700 That is a grown man
00:34:36.280 That is a grown adult man
00:34:38.440 Not just identifying as a woman
00:34:41.120 Which he is not
00:34:42.080 But as a
00:34:43.960 As a child
00:34:45.120 As a girl
00:34:45.940 And what he says there
00:34:47.560 In the video
00:34:48.620 Sponsored by Instacart
00:34:50.260 That he's reliving
00:34:52.380 The girlhood
00:34:53.800 That he missed out on
00:34:54.780 He is playing the part
00:34:57.400 Of an adolescent girl
00:34:59.840 To call that
00:35:03.100 Creepy
00:35:04.320 And concerning
00:35:05.400 And to say that it
00:35:06.440 Raises red flags
00:35:07.280 Would be
00:35:07.700 An understatement
00:35:09.200 And yet
00:35:12.560 That's sponsored by
00:35:13.840 Instacart
00:35:14.400 So it's just
00:35:16.080 It's sort of amazing
00:35:17.160 The extent to which
00:35:17.940 All of these corporate brands
00:35:20.540 Have selected
00:35:22.540 This guy
00:35:23.540 So he's just
00:35:25.020 He's a guy
00:35:25.720 A creep
00:35:27.260 And then
00:35:28.460 One day
00:35:29.080 He decides
00:35:29.760 As a TikTok stunt
00:35:31.360 That he's gonna transition
00:35:33.040 Not into a woman
00:35:33.740 But into an adolescent girl
00:35:35.120 And almost
00:35:37.320 Immediately
00:35:38.380 Some of the biggest
00:35:40.500 Brands and corporations
00:35:41.500 In the country
00:35:42.240 Are lining up
00:35:43.460 To
00:35:44.280 Give this guy money
00:35:45.940 And make him into
00:35:46.860 A mascot for them
00:35:47.720 Just skipping over
00:35:50.940 All the
00:35:51.340 A bunch of actual women
00:35:52.940 If they wanted
00:35:53.360 A real woman
00:35:54.620 To represent
00:35:55.280 If Instacart wanted
00:35:56.300 An actual woman
00:35:57.620 On TikTok
00:35:58.600 To promote their products
00:36:00.160 I'm sure they could
00:36:01.600 Find plenty
00:36:02.220 But they go right
00:36:05.460 To the guy
00:36:06.300 Playing the part
00:36:07.940 Of
00:36:08.360 A teenage girl
00:36:10.420 All right
00:36:13.520 Another big air travel
00:36:15.460 Controversy
00:36:16.360 Yahoo reports this
00:36:17.340 We've had a lot
00:36:17.760 Of heavy stuff
00:36:18.300 So something
00:36:18.680 Slightly less serious
00:36:20.100 Though still
00:36:20.600 Pretty serious
00:36:21.340 Yahoo says
00:36:23.580 Where do you stand
00:36:24.900 Or sit
00:36:25.500 As the case may be
00:36:26.440 On a controversial
00:36:27.400 Air travel issue
00:36:28.740 For years
00:36:29.480 People have weighed in
00:36:30.960 On whether they
00:36:31.600 Or other passengers
00:36:32.320 Should fully recline
00:36:33.400 Their seats
00:36:33.900 During a flight
00:36:34.600 Especially amid
00:36:35.380 A long flight
00:36:36.060 Because the act
00:36:37.180 Of reclining that seat
00:36:38.200 Means the person
00:36:38.840 Seated behind
00:36:39.480 The airplane chair
00:36:40.340 Will have far less
00:36:41.460 Space than otherwise
00:36:42.360 People are vehement
00:36:43.520 On both sides
00:36:44.400 Of the issue
00:36:44.920 Now comes further
00:36:46.640 Discussion and
00:36:47.220 Controversy
00:36:47.760 A user on
00:36:48.680 Reddit named
00:36:49.440 Cherryham123
00:36:53.020 It's a Reddit user
00:36:54.960 Named Cherryham
00:36:56.040 Who posted something
00:36:57.200 On Reddit
00:36:57.500 And it makes it
00:36:59.100 Into the news
00:36:59.620 I guess I can't
00:37:02.180 Judge all these
00:37:03.220 News outlets
00:37:04.080 For constantly
00:37:04.660 Mining Reddit
00:37:05.540 For content
00:37:06.800 Because I do that
00:37:08.020 All the time also
00:37:08.860 But then again
00:37:09.400 I'm not
00:37:10.140 This is not
00:37:10.620 A news program
00:37:11.380 Anyway
00:37:12.940 Cherryham recently
00:37:14.200 Shared that
00:37:14.720 She was on a flight
00:37:16.060 To the US
00:37:16.860 From Australia
00:37:17.620 14 hours
00:37:18.460 She added
00:37:18.780 And sometime
00:37:19.780 Into the flight
00:37:20.360 I reclined my seat
00:37:21.440 To sleep
00:37:21.960 But then the person
00:37:23.140 Posted
00:37:23.500 The girl behind me
00:37:24.440 Poked me
00:37:25.080 And told me
00:37:25.640 To not recline
00:37:26.460 My seat
00:37:26.980 Because she was
00:37:27.540 Uncomfortable

00:37:43.720 About someone
00:37:44.800 Because they had
00:37:45.400 An issue
00:37:45.900 Reclining their
00:37:46.540 Seat on a plane
00:37:47.140 She says
00:37:48.160 I was flying
00:37:48.620 To America
00:37:49.000 To see my partner
00:37:49.860 It was a flight
00:37:50.740 To LAX
00:37:51.780 After the woman
00:37:52.500 Behind me
00:37:52.840 Poked my seat
00:37:53.380 Repeatedly
00:37:53.920 I turned to
00:37:54.720 Look at her
00:37:55.180 And she then
00:37:55.940 Told me
00:37:56.300 That she was
00:37:56.760 Trying to watch
00:37:57.240 A movie
00:37:57.660 And I shouldn't
00:37:58.300 Recline my seat
00:37:59.060 Winter told
00:38:00.620 Fox News Digital
00:38:01.300 Further about
00:38:01.800 The incident
00:38:02.200 It's a 14 hour
00:38:03.380 Flight so you
00:38:04.000 Really want to
00:38:04.320 Be able to sleep
00:38:04.880 Through some of it
00:38:05.700 When it was
00:38:06.500 Obvious that this
00:38:07.020 Woman thought she
00:38:07.700 Was in the right
00:38:08.180 And was going to
00:38:08.620 Continue to annoy me
00:38:09.420 I called a flight
00:38:10.160 Attendant
00:38:10.440 Explained the situation
00:38:11.240 And asked if I
00:38:11.860 Could move seats
00:38:12.440 Winter said
00:38:13.420 The attendant
00:38:13.760 Was happy to oblige
00:38:14.680 Since there were
00:38:15.240 A couple of seats
00:38:15.760 Vacant
00:38:16.200 And then
00:38:18.360 Anyway
00:38:18.760 So the other
00:38:19.900 Reddit users
00:38:20.860 Chimed in
00:38:21.640 And gave their
00:38:22.100 Own opinions
00:38:22.580 About it
00:38:23.160 Should you
00:38:23.880 Recline the seat
00:38:24.520 Should you not
00:38:25.260 This to me
00:38:26.720 This to me
00:38:26.740 I'm just going to
00:38:27.400 Make the definitive
00:38:28.360 Declaration on
00:38:29.460 This one
00:38:29.920 Because they
00:38:31.000 Say that it's
00:38:31.420 A controversy
00:38:31.940 It's really
00:38:32.320 Not a controversy
00:38:33.020 At all
00:38:33.400 It's really
00:38:34.000 Quite simple
00:38:34.580 If you want
00:38:36.520 To be treated
00:38:37.400 Vaguely like a
00:38:39.960 Human being
00:38:40.580 On a plane
00:38:41.500 You need to
00:38:42.500 Sit in first
00:38:42.960 Class
00:38:43.320 Okay
00:38:43.800 You have to
00:38:44.520 Pay the extra
00:38:45.320 Depending on
00:38:47.140 How long the
00:38:47.740 Flight is
00:38:48.060 Maybe the
00:38:48.380 Extra thousand
00:38:48.980 Dollars
00:38:49.520 For first
00:38:50.740 Class
00:38:51.040 Because that
00:38:51.560 Is
00:38:51.680 It's not even
00:38:52.260 That you get
00:38:53.100 Necessarily luxury
00:38:54.360 In first
00:38:54.760 Class
00:38:55.040 It's just
00:38:55.500 You'll have
00:38:56.500 Human like
00:38:57.400 Conditions
00:38:58.080 And you can
00:38:58.940 Do things
00:38:59.400 Like recline
00:38:59.940 Your seat
00:39:00.280 That's what
00:39:01.360 First class
00:39:01.720 Is for
00:39:02.080 If you're
00:39:03.000 Sitting in
00:39:03.340 Coach
00:39:03.700 Because you
00:39:04.800 Don't want
00:39:05.000 To pay
00:39:05.120 The extra
00:39:05.480 Money
00:39:05.800 Then you're
00:39:06.940 Basically not
00:39:07.900 Human for
00:39:08.540 The duration
00:39:10.100 Of the flight
00:39:10.600 I don't like
00:39:11.620 It
00:39:11.740 I'm not saying
00:39:12.140 It should be
00:39:12.760 That way
00:39:13.100 But that's
00:39:13.440 How it is
00:39:14.120 You're packed
00:39:14.840 In there
00:39:15.340 You're treated
00:39:16.300 Like livestock
00:39:17.020 And that's
00:39:18.800 Just it
00:39:19.200 You have to
00:39:19.940 That's part
00:39:21.020 Of the bargain
00:39:21.480 Now
00:39:21.840 Which means
00:39:24.160 That yeah
00:39:24.460 You might think
00:39:25.140 Yeah I paid
00:39:25.660 For the seat
00:39:25.960 I should be
00:39:26.240 Able to recline
00:39:26.620 It
00:39:26.700 No you can't
00:39:27.380 You cannot
00:39:27.780 Recline the seat
00:39:28.400 That's the
00:39:29.760 Verdict here
00:39:30.300 Reclining seats
00:39:32.520 That's
00:39:33.240 You gotta pay
00:39:33.800 A thousand dollars
00:39:34.360 And sit in
00:39:34.640 First class
00:39:35.000 You don't
00:39:35.340 Recline your
00:39:35.880 Seat and coach
00:39:36.380 It's one of
00:39:38.300 The most selfish
00:39:38.920 Things you can
00:39:39.540 Do
00:39:39.760 Because you are
00:39:41.260 Yeah you're
00:39:41.800 Restful but
00:39:42.400 You are
00:39:43.100 Directly
00:39:43.960 The person
00:39:44.860 Behind you
00:39:45.340 Has about
00:39:46.280 Four inches
00:39:47.040 Of leg room
00:39:47.680 You're gonna
00:39:48.160 Recline that seat
00:39:48.940 So you can
00:39:49.280 Catch some Z's
00:39:50.440 And get a nap
00:39:50.900 Or whatever
00:39:51.200 And you are
00:39:52.180 Taking all
00:39:52.880 Of that space
00:39:53.540 Away
00:39:53.800 How can you
00:39:56.000 Even sleep
00:39:56.900 Knowing that
00:39:57.540 You're doing
00:39:57.940 That
00:39:58.220 I don't know
00:39:59.040 How you sleep
00:39:59.460 On a plane
00:39:59.840 In general
00:40:00.320 But how do
00:40:01.300 You sleep
00:40:01.780 Knowing that
00:40:03.080 You're sleeping
00:40:03.660 In the lap
00:40:04.480 Of a stranger
00:40:05.260 Behind you
00:40:05.840 And not only
00:40:07.180 That but
00:40:07.360 The entire time
00:40:08.640 While you're
00:40:09.060 Resting
00:40:09.480 You know
00:40:10.660 That they're
00:40:11.100 Sitting there
00:40:11.640 Stewing in
00:40:12.780 Anger
00:40:13.340 And just
00:40:13.900 Glaring at you
00:40:15.000 Because they
00:40:15.460 Can't do
00:40:15.780 Anything else
00:40:16.280 They can't
00:40:17.040 Watch a movie
00:40:17.460 On
00:40:17.740 They can't
00:40:18.600 Watch the
00:40:18.920 Screen that's
00:40:19.300 On the back
00:40:19.540 Because you
00:40:19.740 Reclined it
00:40:20.240 So they
00:40:20.420 Can't watch
00:40:20.720 A movie
00:40:21.020 They can't
00:40:22.680 Read a book
00:40:23.200 They can't
00:40:23.520 Do work
00:40:23.980 Because you
00:40:24.440 Reclined your
00:40:25.080 Seat
00:40:25.240 They can't
00:40:25.540 Use the
00:40:25.780 Trade table
00:40:26.260 They can't
00:40:26.760 Eat
00:40:27.020 The planes
00:40:29.480 Shouldn't be
00:40:29.840 Set up
00:40:30.060 This way
00:40:30.300 But they
00:40:30.560 Are
00:40:30.780 So I
00:40:32.360 Don't even
00:40:32.560 Know how
00:40:32.820 You sleep
00:40:33.260 What kind
00:40:33.660 Of sociopath
00:40:34.400 Do you
00:40:34.600 Need to
00:40:34.820 Be
00:40:35.060 To be
00:40:37.080 Able to
00:40:37.320 Sleep
00:40:37.520 In those
00:40:37.780 Conditions
00:40:38.160 So that's
00:40:39.840 It
00:40:39.960 That's the
00:40:40.520 That's the
00:40:41.420 Verdict
00:40:41.720 Now we
00:40:42.220 Can all
00:40:42.420 Move on
00:40:42.760 Now let's

00:45:17.280 You
00:45:17.420 Define
00:45:17.680 It
00:45:17.840 Very
00:45:18.840 Simple
00:45:19.120 Science
00:45:20.140 Is
00:45:20.580 A
00:45:20.760 Process
00:45:21.260 Of
00:45:21.720 Understanding
00:45:22.560 The
00:45:23.380 Physical
00:45:23.740 World
00:45:24.180 And
00:45:25.200 Every
00:45:25.500 Part
00:45:25.820 Of
00:45:25.920 That
00:45:26.040 Definition
00:45:26.500 Is
00:45:26.700 Important
00:45:27.060 Because
00:45:27.400 It
00:45:27.580 Is
00:45:27.760 Focused
00:45:28.120 On
00:45:28.420 The
00:45:28.880 Physical
00:45:29.200 World
00:45:29.640 Science
00:45:31.400 Can
00:45:31.560 Only
00:45:31.780 Tell
00:45:32.040 You
00:45:32.180 About
00:45:32.420 The
00:45:32.660 Physical
00:45:32.940 World
00:45:33.300 Now
00:45:34.120 If
00:45:34.240 You're
00:45:34.320 A
00:45:34.380 Materialist
00:45:34.880 You
00:45:35.000 Would
00:45:35.120 Say
00:45:35.300 All
00:45:35.680 There
00:45:35.880 Is
00:45:36.240 Is
00:45:36.440 The
00:45:36.560 Physical
00:45:36.800 World
00:45:37.020 There's
00:45:37.240 Nothing
00:45:37.400 Outside
00:45:37.680 Of
00:45:37.880 It
00:45:37.980 I
00:45:38.460 Would
00:45:38.600 Say
00:45:38.740 There's
00:45:39.020 More
00:45:39.340 To
00:45:39.800 Reality
00:45:40.280 Than
00:45:40.440 The
00:45:40.540 Physical
00:45:40.760 World
00:45:40.920 But
00:45:41.040 Either
00:45:41.260 Way
00:45:41.600 All
00:45:42.440 Science
00:45:42.820 Can
00:45:42.940 Do
00:45:43.080 Is
00:45:43.180 Deal
00:45:43.380 With
00:45:43.500 The
00:45:43.580 Physical
00:45:43.780 World
00:45:44.040 And
00:45:45.100 When
00:45:45.200 It
00:45:54.180 Is
00:45:54.360 A
00:45:54.500 Process
00:45:55.140 Of
00:45:55.680 Understanding
00:45:56.220 So
00:45:57.400 When
00:45:57.600 You
00:45:57.720 Say
00:45:58.000 The
00:45:58.260 Science
00:45:58.620 Says
00:45:59.260 XYZ
00:46:00.680 It
00:46:01.700 Actually
00:46:01.920 Doesn't
00:46:02.100 Make
00:46:02.220 Any
00:46:02.360 Sense
00:46:02.540 Because
00:46:02.780 Science
00:46:03.360 Doesn't
00:46:03.760 Say
00:46:04.320 Anything
00:46:04.840 People
00:46:05.320 Say
00:46:05.720 Things
00:46:06.140 So
00:46:06.800 People
00:46:06.980 Can
00:46:07.200 Use
00:46:07.580 Science
00:46:08.040 That
00:46:08.240 Is
00:46:08.400 They
00:46:08.540 Can
00:46:08.720 Engage
00:46:09.900 In
00:46:10.000 A
00:46:10.120 Process
00:46:10.400 Of
00:46:10.520 Understanding
00:46:10.780 The
00:46:10.900 Physical
00:46:11.060 World
00:46:11.340 And
00:46:11.860 They
00:46:11.960 Can
00:46:12.080 Arrive
00:46:12.480 At
00:46:12.680 Conclusions
00:46:13.420 And
00:46:14.140 They
00:46:14.240 Can
00:46:14.360 Tell
00:46:14.560 You
00:46:14.660 What
00:46:14.780 Those
00:46:14.960 Conclusions
00:46:15.500 Are
00:46:15.860 That's
00:46:16.380 Not
00:46:16.480 The
00:46:16.640 Science
00:46:17.160 Speaking
00:46:17.680 That's
00:46:17.960 The
00:46:18.120 Person
00:46:18.540 And
00:46:19.820 Maybe
00:46:20.020 They're
00:46:20.220 Right
00:46:20.380 About
00:46:20.520 The
00:46:20.640 Conclusions
00:46:21.040 Or
00:46:21.160 Maybe
00:46:21.280 They're
00:46:21.440 Wrong
00:46:21.680 So
00:46:23.740 It's
00:46:24.120 Kind
00:46:24.320 Of
00:46:24.400 Like
00:46:24.580 It's
00:46:24.800 Like
00:46:25.020 Looking
00:46:26.160 Through
00:46:26.400 A
00:46:26.560 Telescope
00:46:27.260 And
00:46:28.000 Then
00:46:28.140 Saying
00:46:28.460 The
00:46:29.360 Telescope
00:46:29.900 Says
00:46:30.300 That
00:46:30.560 The
00:46:30.720 Moon
00:46:30.920 Is
00:46:31.100 Right
00:46:31.260 There
00:46:31.540 Well
00:46:33.220 The
00:46:33.360 Telescope
00:46:33.640 Doesn't
00:46:33.860 Say
00:46:34.040 Anything
00:46:34.340 The
00:46:34.760 Telescope
00:46:35.200 Is
00:46:35.380 Just
00:46:35.560 A
00:46:35.740 Tool
00:46:35.980 It's
00:46:36.300 It's
00:46:36.700 A
00:46:36.820 Tool
00:46:37.040 That
00:46:37.240 You
00:46:37.360 Use
00:46:37.700 To
00:46:37.880 See
00:46:38.180 What
00:46:38.380 Is
00:46:38.520 There
00:46:38.820 And
00:46:40.420 You're
00:46:40.860 Probably
00:46:41.080 Right
00:46:41.360 That
00:46:41.480 The
00:46:41.600 Moon
00:46:41.740 Is
00:46:41.880 There
00:46:42.120 But
00:46:43.240 It's
00:46:43.420 You
00:46:43.640 Saying
00:46:50.020 Physical
00:46:50.240 Realities
00:46:50.720 That
00:46:50.880 You
00:46:51.020 So
00:46:51.500 You
00:46:51.680 Could
00:46:51.800 See
00:46:51.980 Them
00:46:52.140 Better
00:46:52.360 And
00:46:53.200 Same
00:46:53.520 Thing
00:46:53.700 With
00:46:53.880 With
00:46:54.200 Science
00:46:54.500 All

00:46:58.020 Says
00:46:58.440 I

00:46:59.560 But
00:46:59.760 Now
00:46:59.940 I'm
