The Matt Walsh Show - Ep. 1057 - Desperate Democrats Limp To The Finish Line

00:00:00.000 Today on the Matt Walsh Show, heading into election day, Democrats have grown desperate in their attempts to deflect on the crime issue.

00:00:05.700 Also a big update on our efforts to ban gender transitions of minors in the state of Tennessee. 0.99

00:00:22.160 All of that and more today on the Matt Walsh Show.

00:00:30.000 You know, I'm not a gym person. I'm a dad of four, soon to be six.

00:00:36.660 I don't spend hours at the gym after work. I go home to my wife and my kids.

00:01:18.140 And for a limited time, my audience can get a free bike or rowing machine with a 24-month membership.

00:01:23.180 To get your free bike or rower, text MATT to 818181.

00:01:26.820 That's MATT to 818181.

00:01:29.360 To claim your free bike or rowing machine, text MATT to 818181.

00:01:33.920 Message and data rates may apply.

00:01:35.440 See terms for details.

00:01:36.560 Well, I'm not sure if you can really call it election day, considering that the votes will be neither cast nor counted in their entirety tomorrow.

00:01:44.660 But whatever we call it, the point is that theoretically, the voters will make their choice.

00:01:49.120 And theoretically, we will find out what that choice is.

00:01:52.380 And if the red wave materializes, as many have forecasted, it will no doubt have a lot to do with the flagging economy and sky-high inflation.

00:01:59.820 At least we think there is sky-high inflation. 0.98

00:02:02.420 As Joy Reid points out, we're all just a bunch of dumb hicks, though. 0.97

00:02:05.460 And inflation is the first multi-syllabic word we've ever learned. 0.98

00:02:09.920 So who knows?

00:02:12.320 The only people I ever hear use the word inflation are journalists and economists, right?

00:02:19.020 So that is not part of the normal lexicon of the way people talk.

00:02:23.700 So it's interesting that Republicans are doing something they don't normally do, right?

00:02:27.000 Which is not use the common tongue, right?

00:02:29.680 Not use just common English to sort of do on their campaigns like they're doing with crime.

00:02:33.400 But what they've done is they've taught people the word inflation, right?

00:02:37.120 Most people who would have never used that word ever in their lives are using it now because they've been taught it, including on TV, including in newspapers.

00:02:44.840 They've been taught this word, and they sort of wrap this word around whatever it is that they really want to vote, the reasons they really want to vote.

00:02:54.440 Yes, who but an economist has ever used the word inflation when discussing the economy?

00:02:59.400 For that matter, who's ever used the word economy or money or financial?

00:03:04.720 I don't know what any of these words mean personally.

00:03:06.420 Prior to all this Republican propagandizing, I communicated my opinion on financial matters through a series of grunts and frantic hand gestures.

00:03:15.280 But if that argument from Joy Reid seems utterly desperate and absurd, it is still downright credible compared to the last-ditch Democrat efforts to change the narrative on crime.

00:03:26.420 Now, perhaps even before the economy, or at least very closely behind it, the crime problem will be a leading factor driving voter turnout on Tuesday.

00:03:34.100 Say, it's too late for Democrats to do anything about crime itself.

00:03:38.040 They have no interest in doing anything about it anyway, nor would they know what to do, even if they wanted to do something about it.

00:03:43.960 Instead, at the 11th hour, they're looking for a way to reframe the conversation.

00:03:49.940 Briefly last week, it seemed that they would go into the election with the counterintuitive narrative that, in fact, it is Republicans who are weak on crime, not Democrats.

00:03:59.960 This claim was made by many people on the left, but typified by Gavin Newsom on NBC last week.

00:04:06.800 Let's listen to that.

00:04:08.400 But we have a messaging problem.

00:04:09.940 I really believe it.

00:04:10.940 And you can argue, what are we doing on Conference of Immigration Reform?

00:04:14.040 What are we doing on a number of other issues?

00:04:15.540 I'm not going to deny the substantive challenges our party has as well, addressing those tough and vexing issues.

00:04:21.980 It's not just a messaging problem, but a messaging problem that has persisted with our party for years and years, constantly on the defense.

00:04:28.760 We allow these cultural wars to take shape, and we consistently are on the back end of them.

00:04:33.160 Eight of the top ten states with the highest murder rates, all are Republican states.

00:04:37.920 How do Democrats not know that?

00:04:40.020 In fact, it's really nine out of ten Georgia went for Biden, but it's really a Republican state, or at least a red state.

00:04:45.960 Eight out of ten.

00:04:47.220 And we're losing that message?

00:04:48.580 Crime is higher, as well as taxes here for the average citizen in Texas.

00:04:54.440 It's higher crime, higher, violent crime and poverty crimes, than in the state of California.

00:04:58.720 67% higher gun death rate in Texas.

00:05:02.880 Why don't we push back?

00:05:04.780 Why don't we do that?

00:05:06.740 I don't know.

00:05:08.440 You know, speaking of terms nobody ever used before, I've heard people say inflation.

00:05:13.280 But there's a reason why, until just now, nobody ever talked about a state's murder rate.

00:05:20.300 You know, no one ever said, don't go to Indiana.

00:05:22.480 That state has a high murder rate.

00:05:24.640 That's because the murder or violent crime rate of an entire state is a useless statistic.

00:05:31.820 What matters are the crime statistics in individual cities and localities.

00:05:35.920 So a person who lives on five acres of land in the wealthy rural town of Bel Air, Maryland, does not in any meaningful sense share a murder rate with somebody living an hour away in West Baltimore.

00:05:49.040 Maryland is not an unsafe state, but Baltimore is an unsafe city.

00:05:54.180 City, neither is Texas.

00:05:55.520 You know, there are no states that are, in their entirety, unsafe.

00:06:00.580 But cities can be unsafe.

00:06:02.660 Cities can be crime-ridden, murder-plagued, drug-infested wastelands.

00:06:06.960 And it just so happens that nearly all of those cities are run by Democrats.

00:06:11.360 In fact, out of the 30 cities with the highest murder rates, all but three are run by the Democrat Party.

00:06:18.240 So if a red state has a crime problem, it's only because of the blue cities within those states.

00:06:25.520 Missouri is a perfect example.

00:06:26.840 There are plenty of nice areas in Missouri.

00:06:29.660 Well, some anyway.

00:06:30.600 I mean, I've been hiking in some parts of the, some of the state parks there.

00:06:34.240 As a state, though, it also has one of the highest murder rates in the country.

00:06:37.720 But that is driven almost entirely by St. Louis and Kansas City, which are both run by Democrats.

00:06:44.060 You'll find the same pattern in every red state.

00:06:46.240 My state of Tennessee has a spike in crime rate, thanks largely to the efforts of Memphis, which is run by a Democrat.

00:06:51.600 Birmingham is having a similar effect on the state of Alabama.

00:06:54.120 And the list goes on.

00:06:56.040 There is no red state crime problem.

00:06:57.880 There is a blue city crime problem, as even the most cursory glance at the data shows.

00:07:03.360 And that might be why the left has shifted gears in the closing days of the campaign season,

00:07:06.920 from acknowledging the crime wave but blaming it on Republicans, to once again denying that it's happening at all.

00:07:14.040 This is all the fault of Republicans.

00:07:15.460 Also, it's not happening, they argue.

00:07:16.760 Which is a radical departure from their usual argument, which is, this isn't happening and also it's the fault of Republicans.

00:07:22.360 So over on NBC, Lester Halt blamed the fear, the fear over crime on videos and startling headlines,

00:07:29.300 but warns that, quote, crime isn't always what it appears to be.

00:07:33.480 As candidates fine-tune their closing messages ahead of Tuesday's vote,

00:07:39.400 an issue finding traction for many campaigns is voter worries about crime.

00:07:44.500 But as we found, the state of crime in America is not always what it appears to be.

00:07:49.160 Tonight, fear is on the ballot.

00:07:54.860 Crime, now the centerpiece of campaigns across the country.

00:07:58.700 Vote like your life depends on it.

00:08:01.000 Because it does.

00:08:02.800 Fueled, some argue, not by reality, but by videos of rampant lawlessness.

00:08:08.200 They smashed glass display cases, filled their bags of jewelry, then took off.

00:08:12.000 And some unsettling headlines.

00:08:15.100 Unsettling headlines.

00:08:16.040 Perhaps this is what Kathy Hochul in New York meant last week when she said that violent crime epidemic, it's a conspiracy theory.

00:08:23.560 And just in time, Pew Research Center put out a report claiming that, in fact, violent crime rates are falling.

00:08:29.800 The report's been championed by many journalists, including faux journalist hack Judd Legume,

00:08:36.040 who tweeted a screenshot of one chart from the report with the caption,

00:08:39.960 America's violent crime wave is a hoax.

00:08:42.600 Over the last 30 years, violent crime is down dramatically.

00:08:46.040 And there's no recent increase.

00:08:48.840 Don't believe your lying eyes, Judd says.

00:08:50.640 There is no crime wave. 0.99

00:08:52.300 Indeed, if you are currently being beaten over the head by a meth-crazed homeless man on the subway, 0.76

00:08:57.040 take solace in the knowledge that what is happening to you is a hoax.

00:09:01.600 A conspiracy theory.

00:09:03.800 There's a reason why Judd didn't actually provide a link to the report itself.

00:09:07.440 Because if he had, he would find that the single paragraph that seemingly supports the hoax claim,

00:09:15.540 and this is what it says.

00:09:16.200 There's one paragraph, and it says,

00:09:17.260 For each of the four violent crime types tracked in the survey,

00:09:21.860 simple assault, aggravated assault, robbery, and rape-slash-sexual assault,

00:09:25.900 there was no statistically significant increase either in 2020 or 2021.

00:09:31.900 That's it right there.

00:09:32.900 But, you know, there are a lot more paragraphs in the report.

00:09:36.200 So you read a few more paragraphs down, and you find this.

00:09:39.540 The most recent version of the FBI study shows no rise in the national violent crime rate between 2020 and 2021.

00:09:46.260 That said, there is considerable uncertainty around the FBI's figures for 2021 because of a transition to a new data collection system.

00:09:55.440 The FBI reported an increase in violent crime rate between 2019 and 2020 when the previous data collection system was still in place.

00:10:04.340 Ah, so there you have it.

00:10:06.760 Violent crime was increasing until the FBI changed its data collection system, at which point it magically fell.

00:10:14.520 How did that happen?

00:10:16.260 Well, because nearly 40% of the nation's law enforcement agencies didn't submit their crime data in 2021 at all.

00:10:25.220 That includes the NYPD, the LAPD.

00:10:29.060 So New York City and Los Angeles were erased from the national violent crime statistics along with hundreds of other cities.

00:10:36.660 And what do you know, just like that, the national violent crime rate goes down.

00:10:39.920 So if you pretend that Los Angeles and New York and a lot of other cities with a lot of crime don't exist, then the crime rate goes down.

00:10:48.640 You may have noticed another problem, though, because the FBI's violent crime statistics, the ones that the media uses to debunk the crime wave hoax, quote unquote, those stats don't include homicides.

00:11:01.100 Homicides. 0.94

00:11:02.380 The worst form of violent crime, the thing that everyone principally has in mind when they talk about violent crime, isn't factored in.

00:11:10.260 That's what led to this unintentionally hilarious tweet from journalist Mona Charon over at The Bulwark.

00:11:16.200 She wrote,

00:11:16.600 Other than murder, violent crime is not up.

00:11:21.120 Did you know that?

00:11:22.440 Violent crime is a key midterm voting issue.

00:11:24.880 But what does the data say?

00:11:27.260 Other than murder.

00:11:29.500 That's like your doctor telling you, well, other than the malignant tumor on your brain, you're in quite good health.

00:11:35.920 God help any beachgoers if Mona is ever the lifeguard on duty. 1.00

00:11:39.600 Yeah, that guy over there seems to be drowning.

00:11:41.120 But other than that, I think he's okay.

00:11:42.240 Or imagine Mona as the investigator interviewing the lone survivor of an airplane crash.

00:11:49.260 So other than the whole crash thing, how was the flight?

00:11:52.820 I mean, the absurdity is obvious.

00:11:55.300 You can't make an exception for murder when talking about violent crime any more than you can make an exception for smoke inhalation when talking about the dangers of a house fire.

00:12:04.740 And as for murder, those rates are dramatically up.

00:12:09.280 Nationwide, murders have increased 30%.

00:12:11.540 And are the highest they've been in over three decades.

00:12:15.920 Homicide rates have indeed risen exponentially.

00:12:19.560 At a rate rarely seen in American history.

00:12:23.500 So the crime wave is not a hoax.

00:12:26.120 It's not a figment of your imagination.

00:12:29.060 It is real.

00:12:31.360 It is, in fact, all too real.

00:12:32.440 So believe your own eyes and also your common sense.

00:12:38.520 And vote accordingly tomorrow.

00:12:41.820 Now let's get to our five headlines.

00:12:43.080 You know, I love spending the holidays with my family.

00:12:52.080 And one of the ways that I like to do that is with delicious meat from Good Ranchers.

00:13:44.240 Use code Walsh to check out for this special offer.

00:13:46.140 That's GoodRanchers.com slash Walsh for two Black Angus New York strip steaks free with your order.

00:13:53.160 All right, one thing I want to mention just off the top here, and there'll be a lot more details about this in the coming days,

00:14:00.820 but I was just yesterday shown a draft of the legislation in this state that's going to ban, quote, gender transition procedures for minors in Tennessee.

00:14:11.660 So drugging and mutilating children will be banned.

00:14:14.260 And also, I can tell you, and again, I can't get into all the specifics, but victims of these procedures will be given the chance to seek compensation, which is a really, really important part of this.

00:14:25.160 And that's all going to happen.

00:14:26.520 That legislation will be introduced on November 9th.

00:14:29.700 So the day right after the election, the legislation will be officially submitted, rather.

00:14:36.900 And we're going to, we'll talk a lot more about it when it's officially submitted and we have the text of it, but we are going to make this illegal in the state.

00:14:45.560 So this is not just, you know, we've had the rally.

00:14:48.240 We've raised awareness.

00:14:49.680 We've talked a lot about it.

00:14:51.220 We've, you know, we've done all that.

00:14:53.720 We've done the activism, the awareness raising, all that's an important part.

00:14:59.020 But you've got to follow that up with the law.

00:15:01.580 You know, you've got to pass the laws, too.

00:15:03.140 And we're going to do that in this state.

00:15:05.140 And it's not going to stop here.

00:15:07.880 As I've been saying all along, this is a national movement.

00:15:10.820 You know, you might recall a few months ago, it was right when we got back to Tennessee after spending, you know, a week in our undisclosed location on, or rather a month on vacation.

00:15:23.840 I got back here.

00:15:24.560 We had a new studio.

00:15:25.960 And I said that we are going to start a nationwide movement to put an end to this.

00:15:33.160 The abuse of children, the indoctrination of children into gender ideology.

00:15:36.940 We're going to put a stop to it.

00:15:38.100 And it has begun.

00:15:42.100 So, more to come on that.

00:15:44.900 As discussed, Democrats are likely headed for trouncing.

00:15:49.180 Stacey Abrams, in particular, is in really bad shape.

00:15:52.220 She's down by, I think the last poll I saw was like eight points, which is terrible, especially for an incumbent, given that she is currently the governor of Georgia. 0.98

00:16:00.760 At least she thinks that she is.

00:16:02.540 And she still will be after she loses, obviously. 0.71

00:16:04.940 But the Democrats are setting up the excuses now for when she – and she's their star, right, their main attraction, and she's going to lose.

00:16:12.460 So, Keisha Lance Bottoms is the failed former mayor of Atlanta, now Biden lackey.

00:16:17.840 And she says that misinformation is to blame for this.

00:16:22.400 Listen.

00:16:22.520 Mayor Bottoms, I picked up on that because I'm just wondering her – Stacey Abrams' focus on the misinformation that's being targeted at black men. 0.98

00:16:32.400 And it makes me wonder, is she not getting the black support she needs in her race against Brian Kemp?

00:16:39.320 Listen, Jonathan, I think that Stacey is spot on with that.

00:16:44.920 I listen as my kids watch NBA highlights and whatever else they watch on YouTube.

00:16:51.460 I hear the misinformation being piped in.

00:16:54.180 My 12-year-old, my 14-year-old son, my 20-year-old is getting it.

00:16:58.460 So there is definitely a target toward African-American men.

00:17:02.660 Oh, yes.

00:17:04.580 Well, we all know all of that right-wing propaganda during an NBA broadcast.

00:17:10.800 Oh, yeah.

00:17:12.220 Infamously, NBA broadcasts are a place where they engage in all kind of Republican – you know, all these Republican talking points coming out of NBA broadcasts, she says.

00:17:23.060 So that's the narrative now. 0.68

00:17:25.900 And the narratives are just getting more and more ridiculous as we go on. 0.95

00:17:29.240 And so the narrative now is that black men will not vote for Stacey Abrams because the right-wing propagandists during NBA broadcasts have told them not to. 0.95

00:17:40.060 That's the universe that the Democrats want us all to pretend we're living in.

00:17:45.560 And Stacey Abrams has, of course, as referenced there, has echoed this herself.

00:17:50.880 And you know that – you know your campaign's not doing well when in, you know, three days – three or four days before the election, you're publicly making excuses ahead of time for why you're going to lose.

00:18:04.260 And that was our excuse.

00:18:05.480 Let's listen.

00:18:06.740 We have seen record turnout.

00:18:08.880 Black men have increased their participation rates by 52 percent over 2018.

00:18:13.780 And I do not believe it's because of a deep well of enthusiasm from my opponent.

00:18:18.680 We know that black voters are often discounted.

00:18:21.420 And unfortunately, this year, black men have been a very targeted population for misinformation.

00:18:28.360 Not misinformation about what they want, but about why they want what they deserve.

00:18:32.840 And my campaign has been the only one that has very intentionally, thoughtfully, and consistently reached out.

00:18:38.400 That has been misconstrued as concern when it, indeed, is just respect.

00:18:45.180 Misinformation about why they want what they deserve.

00:18:50.160 What?

00:18:51.220 I don't even know how to interpret that.

00:18:53.720 That's just nonsense.

00:18:56.120 But if I were to attempt to interpret it, she's talking about misinformation. 0.97

00:19:01.340 So, like, black men are misinterpreting their own desires, their own electoral wishes about why they want what they want. 1.00

00:19:13.140 They're misinterpreting that because of misinformation.

00:19:18.180 They think they don't want Stacey Abrams, but that's only because they're the victims of misinformation.

00:19:23.220 She's saying, if you don't like me, it's because of misinformation could be the only reason.

00:19:27.840 Meanwhile, why is she really losing?

00:19:31.840 Well, because, first of all, there's nothing appealing about her whatsoever.

00:19:36.820 She is a creation of the left-wing media.

00:19:41.820 They selected her.

00:19:44.020 And they selected her entirely on victim points.

00:19:47.800 This is an affirmative action case all the way.

00:19:51.460 She is not.

00:19:52.500 And I know that, obviously, I'm biased because I'm not on the left.

00:19:57.200 But even so, she has no... 0.97

00:19:59.640 So, I'm not factoring in politics or ideology.

00:20:01.740 Obviously, I disagree with her on that.

00:20:04.200 Just looking from a purely marketing standpoint, okay?

00:20:09.400 She's not compelling.

00:20:10.980 She doesn't have any charisma. 1.00

00:20:14.420 I mean, there are some politicians on the left who I can't stand them or anything they stand for.

00:20:20.120 But they do have some political talent.

00:20:22.720 She doesn't have any at all.

00:20:24.000 But based entirely on the victim points, she's a female, she's black, she's also overweight, that helps. 0.98

00:20:33.080 I think there's an argument to be made that if she was in better shape, she wouldn't be in the spot that she's in. 0.93

00:20:37.000 They wouldn't have selected her.

00:20:38.300 But that gives her another victim point. 0.99

00:20:40.420 And so, they've taken her and they've just said to the public, she's a star.

00:20:45.660 You all really like her.

00:20:47.200 And the public keeps saying, no, we don't.

00:20:49.560 It's not that we hate her.

00:20:50.500 It's just like, we don't, there's nothing. 0.51

00:20:52.060 No, she's just, she's a nothing. 0.99

00:20:54.380 She's a nobody. 0.98

00:20:57.360 She's totally unimpressive.

00:20:58.960 We're not interested.

00:21:00.000 We're bored by her.

00:21:01.620 Who is this person?

00:21:02.640 That's misinformation.

00:21:07.440 When their propaganda and their brainwashing efforts don't work, that's misinformation, they say.

00:21:13.400 And on top of that, when it comes to what she's actually saying, well, she has nothing to say of any substance whatsoever.

00:21:18.680 And she has nothing to say to the voters about how she's going to help them, how she's going to make their lives better. 0.99

00:21:24.380 How she's going to make them safer, more prosperous. 0.99

00:21:26.840 She has nothing to say about that.

00:21:30.400 And that's why she's going to lose.

00:21:32.980 Speaking of insulting the voters, I want to, there's a quick clip from, that I think I have from Joe Biden, giving a speech a couple days ago.

00:21:42.600 And here's how he started things off.

00:21:44.260 Listen to this.

00:21:45.700 I love those signs when I came in.

00:21:47.780 Socialism.

00:21:49.880 Give me a break. 1.00

00:21:51.460 What idiots. 1.00

00:21:54.320 Socialism. 1.00

00:21:54.720 Great angle.

00:21:57.240 That angle is almost as flattering as the, you know, ominous, blood-red background that they infamously did at the White House for his speech, yelling at the American people.

00:22:08.100 And there we have him again.

00:22:09.620 Just, you couldn't have thought, you couldn't have come up with a better, angry old man angle. 1.00

00:22:15.520 And then he's calling just American citizens idiots. 1.00

00:22:19.720 We've gotten used to that. 1.00

00:22:20.820 And this is, remember Joe Biden was sold as like the decent, grandfatherly, nice guy?

00:22:27.100 Couldn't have been further from the truth.

00:22:30.480 And we've gotten used to this from him, but he's just insult, this is the President of the United States, insulting American citizens who are exercising their free speech rights.

00:22:39.520 And I guess we're supposed to just sort of grow accustomed to that.

00:22:46.260 Donald Trump.

00:22:47.280 Okay, let's get to this.

00:22:49.840 Donald Trump was supposed to be campaigning for Republicans in Pennsylvania.

00:22:53.660 But he took the time during his campaign speech, during his rally, rather, this is a rally, you know, we're supposed to be rallying Republican voters going into the midterms, right?

00:23:06.060 And, but he took time during this speech to take a public shot for the first time at Ron DeSantis.

00:23:12.340 If you haven't heard this, let's listen.

00:23:13.380 Let's see, there it is, Trump at 71, Ron DeSantis at 10%, Mike Pence at 70, oh, Mike's doing better than I thought.

00:23:25.960 Okay, so he's going down the polling data to show that, you know, he's in the lead.

00:23:30.820 And then he calls Ron DeSantis, Ron DeSantis.

00:23:34.440 A few things here.

00:23:36.120 First of all, obviously, just an incredibly weak nickname.

00:23:40.800 He's going to have to do a lot better than that.

00:23:43.380 You know, if he wants to take down Ron DeSantis, going in, grabbing into the bag for just throwing an insulting nickname at him.

00:23:51.660 That might have been enough in 2016 to take down almost all of the Republican candidates.

00:23:56.920 There were 19 candidates, and almost all of them could be taken down with just a silly nickname.

00:24:02.420 But this ain't 2016 anymore.

00:24:04.600 And also, Ron DeSantis is a different kind of candidate, if he becomes a presidential candidate at all.

00:24:10.320 And none of them officially are yet, of course.

00:24:11.740 But he's a different kind of Republican, and you're not going to be able to take him down with a weak nickname, especially not one as weak as that.

00:24:22.020 Ron DeSantis is an effective conservative governor.

00:24:26.960 The most popular Republican governor in the country.

00:24:30.660 One of the most effective Republicans we've seen in my lifetime, easily.

00:24:38.380 I say one of.

00:24:39.740 I would say probably the number one most effective.

00:24:42.260 When it comes to actual policy changes.

00:24:45.720 Okay, getting policy wins and cultural wins.

00:24:48.640 There has certainly never been a Republican governor in my lifetime as adept in those areas as Ron DeSantis.

00:24:57.240 And so, you're going to have to try a lot harder than that.

00:25:03.860 Now, Trump fans on Twitter, they took the cue, and they started trying to build their case against Ron DeSantis.

00:25:11.760 And one thing that's floating around on Twitter a lot now is that they're saying that, well, Ron DeSantis is an establishment guy.

00:25:18.280 He's an establishment candidate.

00:25:20.260 Because of some unsourced anonymous report about how the establishment is supposedly lining up behind Ron DeSantis.

00:25:27.400 And there's these anonymous sources saying Paul Ryan and Kevin McCarthy are, you know, like scheming to get Ron DeSantis the nomination.

00:25:35.860 Because apparently anonymous reports are trustworthy now.

00:25:39.960 I mean, you've got Trump supporters who rightly have spent six, seven years saying you can't trust anonymous sources.

00:25:47.380 And they're right about that.

00:25:48.940 Especially mainstream media anonymous sources.

00:25:50.920 And now they're passing them around as gospel truth.

00:25:54.880 From the media, which is interested in starting a fight between Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump.

00:26:00.980 And they especially want to do it before the midterms.

00:26:05.860 And we're just taking that as the truth, I guess.

00:26:10.460 But also, by the way, when it comes to these establishment guys, Donald Trump endorsed all of those guys.

00:26:18.340 He endorsed Kevin McCarthy this year.

00:26:22.280 He took the establishment and put them in his White House.

00:26:25.200 He gave them jobs.

00:26:27.820 He gave them more power.

00:26:30.860 It's just a simple fact of the matter.

00:26:32.900 He did not drain the swamp.

00:26:34.700 Didn't even start to.

00:26:35.860 Didn't even come close.

00:26:37.260 Didn't even try.

00:26:39.180 Took these people and put them in the White House.

00:26:45.660 Handed power over to Jared Kushner.

00:26:51.140 COVID comes along, surrenders the whole country to Fauci.

00:26:54.220 So, that's what you're going to have to contend with.

00:26:57.600 Just a word of warning.

00:26:59.200 If we do get into the primaries and we do have the DeSantis and Trump showdown.

00:27:04.560 If your narrative is going to be, well, DeSantis is an establishment guy.

00:27:08.900 We've got four years of Trump that you're going to have to contend with.

00:27:12.240 And we all remember that. 0.99

00:27:13.560 Like, we're not stupid. 0.70

00:27:14.660 We weren't in a coma. 0.86

00:27:15.500 But why are we having this conversation right now is the question.

00:27:24.440 We're a couple of days before the midterms.

00:27:27.260 We're supposed to be showing a united front.

00:27:29.720 Ron DeSantis is on the ballot.

00:27:32.100 He's going to win.

00:27:32.980 But he is a candidate.

00:27:36.520 And Donald Trump is at a rally attacking him a couple days before the election.

00:27:45.160 What's the strategy there exactly?

00:27:49.520 And, you know, the next day, there were people on Twitter and on the right who were making a big deal about the next day.

00:27:56.860 Donald Trump, he's down in Florida giving a rally speech.

00:28:00.540 And he came out in support of DeSantis.

00:28:02.580 And he said, yeah, you've got to vote for DeSantis.

00:28:04.980 And so we're supposed to take that as, well, everything's fine.

00:28:07.260 You know, it was okay.

00:28:10.420 That just makes it worse.

00:28:13.400 That just shows that Trump throwing that dig at DeSantis, that wasn't part of some 4-D chess overarching kind of brilliant strategy.

00:28:23.020 He's just babbling.

00:28:24.480 And so two days before the election, he throws a jab at Ron DeSantis.

00:28:28.920 And then the next day is supporting him.

00:28:33.560 This just typifies two of the biggest problems with Trump.

00:28:38.260 One is that he just has, he has no discipline at all.

00:28:43.440 He just says whatever comes to mind.

00:28:45.880 There's no strategy to it.

00:28:47.540 He doesn't think about timing at all.

00:28:48.760 And also he's not interested in pursuing a goal beyond himself.

00:28:53.920 Like the fact that fighting, you know, as the most prominent Republican in the country, which is Donald Trump, starting a fight with the second most prominent two days before the election, that's going to hurt conservatives, it's going to hurt Republicans.

00:29:08.180 It's going to help the Democrats who are the opponent here.

00:29:11.380 And Trump's a smart guy.

00:29:14.140 He knows that.

00:29:14.660 He just doesn't care.

00:29:16.420 Just does not care.

00:29:18.920 And I don't consider that a positive at all.

00:29:24.840 And I know you might say, well, he's a fighter.

00:29:26.740 He wants to get in the ring and fight.

00:29:28.720 Being an effective fighter.

00:29:30.020 It's like, you get into the, and I'm no boxer myself, so my ability to make boxing analogies is, you know, my boxing comparisons are going to dry up pretty quickly.

00:29:38.840 But what I do know is that when you get into the ring, you're not just going to start flailing your arms around at random.

00:29:45.820 He's a fighter.

00:29:46.400 Look at him.

00:29:46.740 He's just punching everything.

00:29:48.420 No, you're not just flailing your arms around.

00:29:51.360 It's got to be targeted.

00:29:52.560 It's all about timing and being targeted and smart.

00:29:58.220 That's part of being an effective fighter.

00:30:00.020 It's understanding timing.

00:30:03.720 It's not enough to just go after someone.

00:30:06.720 You'll think about who you're going after.

00:30:09.280 And when.

00:30:11.200 And why.

00:30:14.620 Now, if DeSantis and Trump both want to be president, then we're going to get the DeSantis-Trump showdown.

00:30:20.780 It's going to happen.

00:30:21.720 And they're both going to get bruised in the process.

00:30:24.280 No question about it.

00:30:26.500 That doesn't have to happen right now.

00:30:28.500 It doesn't help anyone for it to happen right now.

00:30:33.600 In fact, you could save that.

00:30:35.600 That inevitable period, which is going to be unfortunate in a lot of ways because, again, both guys are going to get bruised in the process.

00:30:42.900 It's what it is.

00:30:44.200 It's politics, though.

00:30:44.960 It's going to happen.

00:30:46.020 No one's complaining about that.

00:30:47.660 But you could save that.

00:30:50.100 You know, you can.

00:30:51.040 The window of time when that's really happening and these guys actually are throwing punches at each other.

00:30:56.180 You can condense that window considerably.

00:31:03.640 Starting now, before anyone has even announced the campaign, is just not a good sign.

00:31:07.780 And I don't know.

00:31:11.460 You know, it's too early to make primary predictions.

00:31:17.540 The smart money in a primary, assuming that Trump and DeSantis are both in it, the smart money is, of course, on Trump.

00:31:23.420 And if I were a betting man, that's probably where I'd put my money at this point, in the primary.

00:31:31.660 And Trump obviously assumes that it'll be him, too.

00:31:33.940 But, you know, we all might be surprised.

00:31:37.540 Ron DeSantis is very popular.

00:31:39.020 And I think his track record as governor is, again, it's a political problem for Trump because it was easy enough in 2016, even going up against 19 of these guys, it was easy enough to paint many of, not all of them, but a lot of them he could just paint as, like, you know, ineffective establishment types who haven't done anything and they're just all talk and they haven't done anything.

00:32:04.440 They have no accomplishments and all that.

00:32:05.820 And it was true of a lot of them.

00:32:06.740 But with DeSantis, it's not going to be that easy.

00:32:11.500 Because he has real wins.

00:32:13.480 You know, he's put points on the scoreboard.

00:32:15.280 And we've all seen that.

00:32:18.120 Which also means that we're going to have more respect for him than we do for maybe some of these other guys.

00:32:23.940 So you're not going to have as much leeway with the voters anyway.

00:32:29.260 But we'll see.

00:32:30.620 All right.

00:32:31.980 Moving over to Elon Musk and Twitter.

00:32:36.740 So Elon Musk has put this.

00:32:39.920 A lot of people talking about today on Twitter that Elon Musk has started banning left wing accounts, left and right.

00:32:45.620 And that's because a lot of the blue check marks on Twitter, they wanted to make a point because they're very upset about the idea that they're going to have to pay $8 a month for their blue check mark.

00:32:55.640 And they're not upset about paying the $8.

00:32:57.500 That's not it.

00:32:58.240 They don't care about that.

00:33:00.040 A lot of them have more than enough money to pay $8.

00:33:02.180 What they're upset about is the idea that anyone can now pay $8 and get the check mark too.

00:33:08.680 So they're losing their elite status on Twitter.

00:33:11.700 They're very upset about that.

00:33:13.120 And so they were trying to make some point about the problem with, you know, just verifying anyone.

00:33:17.140 So a bunch of left wing accounts, including Kathy Griffin, they changed their, they had their blue check mark and they changed their name to Elon Musk and then posted a bunch of stuff trying to embarrass him.

00:33:28.200 And he responded by banning all of them.

00:33:30.380 So Kathy Griffin got banned and a bunch of others too. 0.97

00:33:33.280 Temporarily suspended anyway.

00:33:34.420 Which, which is pretty funny.

00:33:37.400 But then he also tweeted this, Elon Musk did.

00:33:40.340 And I wasn't sure about this.

00:33:41.320 He says, Twitter needs to become by far the most accurate source of information about the world.

00:33:48.480 That's our mission.

00:33:51.320 Yeah, yeah, I don't, I don't know about that.

00:33:54.800 See, the jury's still out, as I've been saying with, um, I think we can assume that Twitter will be in better hands with Elon Musk than it was before.

00:34:02.360 That's, that's, that's easy enough to do.

00:34:04.420 Um, you've got, it's a, it's an easy bar to get over.

00:34:08.380 I'm quite sure that Elon Musk will get, he's already gotten over it.

00:34:10.820 So that is, that's clear.

00:34:13.860 But whether or not Twitter actually becomes this, uh, public square where free speech reigns supreme in a, in a, in a, in a real way, well, that remains to be seen.

00:34:24.160 We don't know yet.

00:34:26.020 And then I read tweets like this from Elon Musk and I'm a, I, I'm a little apprehensive.

00:34:29.760 Because it seems to me that there are, you can either try to turn Twitter into the public square where free speech reigns supreme.

00:34:39.600 Um, or you can try to turn it into the most accurate source of information about the world.

00:34:45.060 Seems like you can do either of those things, but you can't do both at the same time.

00:34:48.820 Um, it's either a place where you can go and share your ideas and your opinions and your perspective with everybody.

00:34:56.440 Um, essentially without limit.

00:35:00.380 You know, unless you're committing actual crimes or defaming someone, death threats, that sort of thing, doxing someone.

00:35:07.580 So it's pretty easy to see where the limits ought to be.

00:35:10.980 So it could be that, which I think is what a lot of people are hoping for.

00:35:15.080 Or it can be, as Elon Musk is saying now, a place where you go for the most accurate information about the world.

00:35:22.040 And I've never gone to Twitter for that.

00:35:24.120 That's, that's not why I'm on Twitter.

00:35:25.620 I, I, I've never gone to social media for that.

00:35:32.960 Um, but if that becomes the goal, then it seems like, well, you're going to have to crack down on speech considerably.

00:35:40.160 In fact, you're going to have to keep doing what they've already been doing at Twitter.

00:35:43.920 Which ostensibly is the whole reason Elon Musk took over.

00:35:48.180 Which is to say, well, you can say everything, anything you want, as long as it's accurate.

00:35:53.300 And accurate, as judged by our content moderators.

00:35:58.580 So, the content moderators will tell us what is true about the world.

00:36:02.680 And, you know, they'll, they'll set up the parameters.

00:36:05.440 Here are the things that are true.

00:36:07.080 And you're allowed to say any of those things.

00:36:08.980 Pick from the list.

00:36:11.120 We'll give you a checklist of all the things that are true about the world.

00:36:14.440 And you can say those all you want, to your heart's content.

00:36:16.860 You can post one of those true things 60 times an hour if you want.

00:36:25.040 Hey, but that's not actually free speech, is it?

00:36:30.100 No, I don't need, and I also don't need this in the reverse.

00:36:33.080 I wouldn't trust, now, I would never trust Twitter's content moderators, and I don't care who's in charge of Twitter.

00:36:41.860 But I would never trust the content moderators to actually police real misinformation.

00:36:48.160 Okay, I would never trust them to do that.

00:36:50.980 But even if I could trust them to do it, I still wouldn't want them to.

00:36:54.600 Someone, you know, I posted about this, and someone said, well, no, this would be good.

00:36:59.960 I mean, what if they, you know, trans propaganda is misinformation.

00:37:03.660 And so what if they start cracking down on that as misinformation?

00:37:05.860 Because it is.

00:37:08.200 Well, that's not actually what I want.

00:37:10.600 I don't need that.

00:37:12.820 As long as there's no thumb on the scale, let the trans propagandists go to Twitter and say everything they want. 0.77

00:37:20.540 We can easily handle that.

00:37:22.120 We can easily expose it for the misinformation that it is.

00:37:27.000 If you take the thumb off the scale, and if you let us confront this ideology directly and in plain language,

00:37:34.620 and say all the things that we need to be able to say.

00:37:37.420 If you let us do that, then I'm not, no, I don't need a content moderator to police that.

00:37:43.420 We can do that, easily.

00:37:44.760 In fact, on a level playing field, in a fair fight, I want the trans propagandists there.

00:37:53.220 I want the left-wing propaganda.

00:37:54.660 I want them all there.

00:37:57.040 If it's a fair fight.

00:37:59.320 Right?

00:37:59.940 Because then that gives us a chance to expose them to what they are.

00:38:02.620 Now, you try to do this in the reverse and, you know, moderate them out of existence, then even if you were to succeed,

00:38:13.300 well, you've turned Twitter into like a right-wing echo chamber, essentially.

00:38:16.700 And we're not able to do with it what we should be able to do, which is to use it as a platform to engage with these other ideas

00:38:29.040 and expose them for the nonsense that they are.

00:38:34.680 So that makes me a little uncomfortable, but we will see. 0.60

00:38:38.980 All right.

00:38:39.360 This is from the Post Millennial.

00:38:41.380 It says, on Sunday's episode of Meet the Press, host Chuck Todd told his audience to expect delays in the results from Tuesday's midterms,

00:38:49.840 as many of the battleground states will not have their votes tallied until well past November 8th.

00:38:54.820 Todd said, even though we're all counting down to Tuesday, let's be realistic.

00:38:58.760 It's highly unlikely we will not know, or highly likely we will not know the full results of the midterms on election night.

00:39:04.620 Todd then referenced the election of 2020 when many states did not have the results tallied over 80% during the night of the election,

00:39:11.860 mostly because those states were still counting ballots from early voting.

00:39:18.540 Well, that's going to make people very comfortable, isn't it?

00:39:20.840 That's going to allay any concerns by comparing it to the 2020 election.

00:39:25.320 I know it'll be totally fine, you know, just like the 2020 election.

00:39:29.640 It's going to make people feel a lot better.

00:39:30.920 This is why, this is supposedly why, anyway, counting the ballots takes so long,

00:39:37.380 because you have all these early ballots that come in.

00:39:42.420 Which is, yet again, the reason why, if you care about election integrity,

00:39:47.540 we wouldn't be doing any of this.

00:39:49.780 You go to the polls on election day, and you cast your ballot, and that's it.

00:39:57.920 And you know what?

00:40:01.040 If you want to extend the time that the ballots are open, you want to extend that time for people to go vote,

00:40:10.260 but I'm fine with that, as long as it's on the day.

00:40:15.820 Now, as you know, personally for me, I think there are far too many people voting,

00:40:19.320 so if it were up to me, I would make, I'd make, the polls would be open maybe for like an hour.

00:40:25.520 And if you really want to be there, you got to get there within that hour, get there early in line,

00:40:29.740 so the people that most want to be, the most motivated voters would be there.

00:40:34.840 I think that's a better strategy, but that's not going to happen.

00:40:37.840 And if you want to go the other way, and you want to open it for longer, that's fine.

00:40:39.960 As long as they're voting physically on the day, and you count them on the day.

00:40:48.260 That's the only way to ensure election integrity.

00:40:51.060 All right, one other thing, so this is why it went viral yesterday.

00:40:55.620 SNL had a skit about COVID, and we'll play a little bit of this, but I don't know.

00:41:01.360 Maybe a little bit late, but let's watch.

00:41:05.660 Are you feeling tired and worn down?

00:41:08.640 Sick of the endless grind at work?

00:41:11.720 Exhausted by your family, desperate for some peace and quiet?

00:41:14.960 Daniel! Your kid's quiet!

00:41:17.980 Then ask your doctor about COVID.

00:41:20.960 By simply getting COVID, you're guaranteed a five and sometimes even ten day vacation

00:41:25.920 from all of life's problems.

00:41:27.640 I needed a break, just some time away from everyone.

00:41:30.420 So my doctor suggested I get COVID, and it was the greatest week of my life.

00:41:34.880 All I wanted was to sit on the good part of the couch and watch the Netflix I want to watch.

00:41:39.420 And I was finally able to, thanks to COVID.

00:41:41.980 At first, I was worried about getting COVID, but my doctor assured me it's fine now.

00:41:45.860 I'm triple vaxxed, quadruple if you count HPV.

00:41:48.600 So it's my time to shine.

00:41:50.060 Side effects of COVID include having COVID, which is still kind of bad, but doesn't it seem different now?

00:41:55.140 I definitely got sick.

00:41:56.780 But I also got paid for 10 days to never leave a blanket.

00:42:01.200 Plus, I got a great story I could tell people at work.

00:42:03.880 It was like I had a bad cold for three days.

00:42:07.700 And of course I had to isolate from my three kids because I didn't want to get them sick.

00:42:12.820 But what do they eat?

00:42:15.940 I gave them 14 days to be extra safe.

00:42:20.760 So there's that.

00:42:22.900 You know, every time I see something like this, it just frustrates me because that would have been,

00:42:29.420 that skit right there, two years ago, that would have been edgy and offensive to a lot of people

00:42:38.660 and hilarious, largely for that reason.

00:42:43.620 But now?

00:42:45.720 Like they're coming around to these jokes and these observations and everything

00:42:49.820 that most of us noticed two years ago.

00:42:52.040 And we're supposed to give them credit.

00:42:54.340 And there are far too many people who are willing to give them that credit.

00:42:58.100 Being way too generous, I think.

00:42:59.500 No, it's too late.

00:43:04.280 I mean, what was SNL doing two years ago?

00:43:07.660 Like they didn't have a live audience.

00:43:09.540 I think they, in fact, they shut down completely.

00:43:13.440 I wasn't paying much attention, I admit.

00:43:16.140 But they weren't making jokes like that, I can tell you that.

00:43:20.620 Wait until it's completely safe.

00:43:22.360 I mean, that's comedy these days, right?

00:43:24.360 That's what comedy has become.

00:43:25.520 Wait until the coast is clear, it's completely safe.

00:43:30.780 You won't offend a single soul, and then make the joke.

00:43:34.780 It doesn't work quite the same.

00:43:36.780 Let's get to the comments section.

00:43:38.400 Daily cancellations are the law and order of the day.

00:43:43.820 We're the Sweet Baby Gang.

00:43:48.500 You know, if you're like me, you've probably got a ton of old boxes sitting around

00:43:52.560 filled with photos, film reels, and VHS tapes.

00:43:55.520 You may not have looked at them in years because you no longer have the projector

00:43:58.880 or the VCR to do so.

00:44:00.120 Worse, they're wasting away in your dusty attic or moldy shed.

00:44:04.460 You need to preserve those recorded moments so they can be safe forever,

00:44:08.300 and you have them forever.

00:44:27.760 Once complete, these irreplaceable moments can be easily viewed, shared, and passed on

00:44:31.740 for future generations, for generations to come.

00:44:34.380 Last year, I refused to fix my mother's VCR over Thanksgiving holiday,

00:44:38.140 and to make up for this, slight against my dear sweet mother,

00:44:40.900 sweet Grandma Walsh, if you will.

00:44:42.400 I got her a Legacy Box so that she doesn't have to keep her old VCR around,

00:44:46.220 and more importantly, I don't have to fix it because I don't know how to.

00:44:49.260 Anyway, relive your most important memories this holiday for a limited time only.

00:44:52.900 Take advantage of early access to Legacy Box best sale of the year.

00:45:06.800 Emery says, I practically dropped my phone and looked at my children with tears in my eyes

00:45:12.880 when Roe was overturned, too.

00:45:14.900 Then I dropped to my knees and thanked God that I was able to live to see the day when it happened.

00:45:20.080 Yeah, we were making fun of that NBC show with their opening montage of all these lefties

00:45:25.300 learning that Roe was overturned, and they were all distraught, and it was very funny.

00:45:29.140 But at the same time, it is true.

00:45:31.640 There's nothing wrong if Roe being overturned made you emotional.

00:45:36.800 Even if it made you tearful.

00:45:39.020 There's nothing wrong with that.

00:45:40.720 We talked about the appropriate times for a man to cry. 0.99

00:45:43.300 I think their latest list were up to seven.

00:45:46.520 I'll make that number eight.

00:45:47.480 That's acceptable.

00:45:49.980 But it should be tears of joy because this darkness has finally ended, at least partially.

00:46:00.760 Tears of joy over the fact that millions of babies, though not every baby, will now be saved.

00:46:05.600 That's a perfectly fine reason you get emotional.

00:46:10.220 But getting emotional over the thought that your daughter one day will not be able to get pregnant

00:46:17.480 and have an abortion is just demented. 0.79

00:46:23.080 All right.

00:46:23.400 Gerard says, hilarious how the AP article says, it is somewhat startling that two cities that

00:46:30.540 have high African-American populations, there's not a single black player.

00:46:34.900 Do they think the teams acquire their players by hosting citywide tryouts each year or something?

00:46:39.180 Yeah, I missed that.

00:46:40.180 I did.

00:46:40.720 And I felt bad that I, you know, all the reasons to make fun of that AP article saying the World

00:46:44.720 Series was racist because there are no U.S.-born black people.

00:46:47.900 There are, quote unquote, people of color, as the term is now used, who were in the World Series,

00:46:54.220 but they were born in other countries, so they don't count, is what the AP was saying.

00:47:00.160 But a lot of reasons to make fun of that, and I missed that one.

00:47:03.460 I don't know how I missed it.

00:47:04.540 But yeah, they said it's even more startling in this case because the cities that are being 0.94

00:47:09.860 represented have a lot of black people.

00:47:11.600 And so why aren't there black people on the teams?

00:47:13.300 Well, because they don't hire exclusively from the local pool of talent.

00:47:20.380 In fact, you know, it's kind of rare on a professional sports team that you have someone

00:47:24.720 on the team who actually grew up and lived in that city.

00:47:27.920 Max says, what annoys me about saying a fetus is only a clump of cells?

00:47:35.480 Don't they realize that we're all made up of a clump of cells?

00:47:38.060 The difference is how many.

00:47:39.820 My heart breaks for these little treasures.

00:47:41.540 God help us.

00:47:43.180 Yeah, exactly.

00:47:43.980 You could, you know, if you want to be a reductionist in that way, you could describe

00:47:50.660 any human being that way.

00:47:52.380 Like, we're all clumps of, we're all, you know, we're all comprised of cells that are,

00:47:56.800 if you like, clumped together.

00:48:00.160 What does that have to do with anything?

00:48:02.220 And as I have often pointed out, you know, we're talking about clumpiness.

00:48:07.180 You could go out in public pretty much anywhere, go to the store, and you'll see lots of people

00:48:11.920 that are a whole lot clumpier than your average infant, by the way.

00:48:15.980 So, John says, when does life begin debate is a straw man.

00:48:21.780 In their heart, they truly don't care.

00:48:23.600 Human sacrifice in their head has been rationalized, and the debate is only a pretense.

00:48:28.920 That's true for many of the pro-abortion people.

00:48:31.440 That's correct.

00:48:32.020 It doesn't actually matter when life begins.

00:48:34.400 This is the premise behind the kind of shout your abortion movement. 0.53

00:48:38.360 It's that you're shouting it.

00:48:41.000 You're announcing your abortion.

00:48:41.840 You're not explaining it.

00:48:42.840 You're not defending it.

00:48:43.780 You're not rationalizing.

00:48:44.760 You're not making an argument for it, okay?

00:48:47.180 That's why it's not hashtag make an argument in favor of your abortion.

00:48:50.840 It's hashtag shout your abortion because you don't have to explain it.

00:48:55.060 And it doesn't matter if the baby that was killed, if it was a baby or a fetus or a lifeless

00:49:01.240 clump of cells or whatever it was, it doesn't matter because you have power over your body.

00:49:05.080 You can do whatever you want.

00:49:05.860 That is, I think, a morally horrific argument, but it is at least an honest argument.

00:49:14.760 That I think more and more pro-abortion people are starting to make.

00:49:17.360 Let's see.

00:49:22.280 And finally, Cool Runnings says, man, today's show by Matt has me all over the place.

00:49:28.220 The opening story was heart-wrenching.

00:49:29.900 Disagree with the vote on election day only stuff.

00:49:32.460 Found his take on Kamala and Fetterman hilarious.

00:49:35.280 And back to disagreeing with his take on Luke Bryan non-apology, which he thought was an apology.

00:49:39.900 Today was wild.

00:49:40.940 Kind of why I like this show.

00:49:42.460 Never know what turn we'll take next from story to story.

00:49:46.160 Keep it up, Daddy Matt.

00:49:48.540 Well, I appreciate all of that.

00:49:49.960 And that is, you know, it's like you don't have to agree with every single thing.

00:49:52.480 And I do appreciate that.

00:49:55.340 And I would like to just end it there.

00:49:57.320 But unfortunately, by my count, Cool Runnings, you used four laughing, crying face emojis in this comment.

00:50:06.880 And you should know better than that at this point.

00:50:08.720 So you are, sad to say, banned from the show.

00:50:11.900 You know, Tuesday is going to be a bloodbath.

00:50:14.060 And I, for one, could not be more excited.

00:50:15.800 And I'm inviting you to tune in and watch our special Daily Wire election night 2022.

00:50:21.060 Election coverage starts at 3 p.m. Central.

00:50:23.120 And then starting at 6 p.m., Ben Shapiro, Michael Knowles, Andrew Klavan,

00:50:26.700 Our God King with a lowercase g, Jeremy Boren, Candace Owens, and myself

00:50:30.060 will be giving you live updates as the results come in with help from our Morning Wire crew.

00:50:34.420 We'll also be mocking social media meltdowns that will shortly be happening

00:50:37.460 from the likes of AOC and so many others.

00:50:39.140 And there will also be some very special guests joining us for commentary, too.

00:50:43.100 Daily Wire election night 2022 will be the gift that keeps on giving as we get into the holiday season.

00:50:48.680 And you don't want to miss a second of it.

00:50:51.040 If you're not yet a member, go to dailywire.com slash Walsh and join us today.

00:50:55.480 Now let's get to our daily cancellation.

00:51:01.840 Today, our daily cancellation may be accused of being a bit unfocused.

00:51:05.660 I would blame it on ADHD, but I've already canceled ADHD multiple times during this same segment.

00:51:10.480 The problem is that I wanted to dedicate the cancellation to the worst examples of Democrat

00:51:15.900 cringe heading into Election Day.

00:51:17.780 But the cringe just kept piling up, one on top of another, creating a sort of leaning tower of cringe.

00:51:24.380 A mountain, you might even say.

00:51:25.940 A cringe volcano spewing hot liquid cringe all over the ground, sending particles of cringe into the air,

00:51:32.460 threatening to blot out the sun and send us all into an eternal winter.

00:51:36.480 So all I can do is go through this bit by bit now.

00:51:39.800 I have no overarching eloquent point to make.

00:51:42.800 But then again, if you wanted eloquent points, you wouldn't be watching the show to begin with.

00:51:47.200 And so we just have to dive right in with this

00:51:49.100 Get Out the Vote music video produced by a leftist pack called Midas Touch.

00:51:54.260 You may recall from Greek mythology that King Midas turned everything he touched into gold.

00:52:00.140 It's up to you whether this qualifies, but here it is.

00:52:03.000 Skodis took away the ride to control our bodies, then hid behind their fences. 0.83

00:52:15.980 Uh-huh, uh-huh.

00:52:17.980 MAGA came here for a fight, started a riot, and it's getting stranger. 0.59

00:52:25.260 Uh-huh, uh-huh.

00:52:27.000 Yeah, they tried to stop the peaceful transfer for the first time. 0.68

00:52:33.820 Despicable and cynical, oh yeah.

00:52:38.340 But we are coming up on an important deadline.

00:52:42.520 It's time.

00:52:44.820 Uh-oh.

00:52:46.260 You all know what to do.

00:52:48.060 Got a vote in 22.

00:52:50.540 Publicans will take your rights and might try another coup. 1.00

00:52:54.620 We don't like what we see.

00:52:57.260 That's why we're voting blue.

00:52:59.820 Everything will really suck if we don't show up and vote in 22.

00:53:08.660 Could save the climate too.

00:53:13.360 You know, it's actually kind of catchy.

00:53:16.220 I mean, it's not good.

00:53:17.580 By the standards of this sort of thing, I don't know.

00:53:23.780 It's like an early 2000s era Vanessa Carlton without the vocal range or the songwriting ability,

00:53:29.780 morphed with Rebecca Black, which still is slightly better than what you would expect,

00:53:36.220 but still not great.

00:53:37.720 In summary, democracy was a mistake.

00:53:40.820 There's a reason I identify as a theocratic fascist.

00:53:42.940 And when I finally rise to power and take my rightful throne,

00:53:47.220 my very first decree will be that all the get-out-the-vote songs are banned,

00:53:51.740 which I suppose will be somewhat redundant because voting will also be banned for the good of the country.

00:53:56.020 But that's not the only form of musical cringe taking us into Election Day.

00:53:59.500 In fact, somehow it gets worse.

00:54:02.540 In the last week, signaling the ultimate form of desperation,

00:54:07.420 various Democrat candidates have started recording dancing TikTok videos.

00:54:13.140 Now, this shouldn't be as all that bad, you might think,

00:54:17.920 because for all their faults, Democrats tend to be better dancers than Republicans.

00:54:21.900 I have no data or research to back that up.

00:54:23.980 It just seems intuitively true.

00:54:26.100 And yet it's the worst dancers in the Democrat Party

00:54:29.280 who are dancing their way into the midterms.

00:54:32.480 Here's a very brief compilation.

00:54:34.900 I'm looking for a yellow bone, long hair star.

00:54:40.660 Thick in the hips, come get in my car. 1.00

00:54:44.080 So you back, I'm a savage. 0.94

00:54:47.300 Classy, bougie, ratchet. 1.00

00:54:50.080 Sassy, moody, nasty. 1.00

00:54:52.880 Acting stupid, what was happening? 1.00

00:54:55.660 What was happening? 1.00

00:54:56.900 I'm a savage.

00:54:58.520 For a yellow bone, long hair star. 0.85

00:55:01.480 Thick in the hips, come get in my car. 1.00

00:55:07.240 Gretchen Whitmer probably fared the best of that group, I would say, 1.00

00:55:10.060 though she still looks like your drunk aunt at the wedding reception. 1.00

00:55:13.400 Unsurprisingly, when Beto O'Rourke dances, 0.84

00:55:15.660 he has the look of a man holding in a fart. 0.80

00:55:17.480 Perhaps we should call that dance move the Swalwell.

00:55:19.580 I don't know.

00:55:20.300 Then there was Tim Ryan of Ohio,

00:55:22.140 who dances like a little bit like a toddler at a Wiggles concert.

00:55:26.160 And I know I promised that I wouldn't make any overarching points here,

00:55:30.300 but if I were to make one,

00:55:31.920 I would point out that the TikTok dances are a symptom

00:55:35.780 of the total lack of seriousness and dignity among our political elite.

00:55:40.660 The country's always had political elite, right?

00:55:42.800 For better or worse, usually for worse.

00:55:44.660 But at least there used to be a certain sense of decorum in that class,

00:55:48.960 at least in front of the public.

00:55:50.060 Now they all share the same vices of the political elite of any other age,

00:55:54.480 except we have to add that they're desperate, undignified.

00:55:58.460 You know, the desperate, undignified cringe factor

00:56:00.540 has to be added to the list now.

00:56:02.520 Speaking of which,

00:56:03.500 Tim Ryan makes a second appearance in the cringe roundup

00:56:05.880 with a video posted on Friday

00:56:07.660 purporting to show off his skills at the shooting range or lack thereof.

00:56:13.440 Here it is.

00:56:20.060 Not bad for a Democrat, he says.

00:56:32.560 Amazingly, however, it actually is bad, even for a Democrat.

00:56:35.560 The bar is extremely low when it comes to Democrats and firearms.

00:56:38.840 After all, these are the people known to confuse earplugs with rubber bullets.

00:56:43.000 Yet, Tim Ryan has managed to get under a bar

00:56:46.000 that would be buried in the earth if it was set any lower.

00:56:48.980 So let's just take a look at a freeze frame to assess his form on this.

00:56:52.860 So he's got his knees locked, head down,

00:56:56.000 leaning back like he's anticipating recoil from like a .50 caliber machine gun.

00:57:00.040 I taught my nine-year-old daughter how to shoot a BB gun,

00:57:03.000 and her form was immediately better than this.

00:57:06.860 In fact, if she had formed this bad,

00:57:08.160 she'd be grounded for a week for bringing shame to our family. 0.99

00:57:10.940 And this is to say nothing of the fact that

00:57:12.520 he's standing 10 feet from the target,

00:57:14.900 and his grouping still looked like he was shooting blind and drunk

00:57:17.500 from like 500 yards away.

00:57:20.520 Keep in mind, too, that these are the best angles and shots they could find for him.

00:57:25.080 They probably had him out there at the range for like several hours

00:57:28.060 trying to get 15 seconds worth of usable footage,

00:57:30.640 and this is what they had to run with.

00:57:33.580 I mean, I would have run the footage right to the trash bin and moved on,

00:57:36.540 but that's just me.

00:57:38.120 It's somewhat confusing as to why they'd even put this video out,

00:57:40.820 given how incredibly embarrassing it is for Tim Ryan.

00:57:43.140 But then you realize that they have no respect for the voters they're pandering to.

00:57:48.200 The assumption is that blue-collar voters in Ohio

00:57:50.960 will be just impressed that he's shooting a gun,

00:57:54.760 and they'll vote for him on that basis alone.

00:57:56.760 Look, he makes the gun go bang-bang.

00:57:58.560 He's just like us.

00:57:59.960 We should vote for him.

00:58:01.960 That's the calculation they're expecting,

00:58:03.920 which isn't surprising,

00:58:05.240 given that these are the same people who think

00:58:06.480 that you just learned the word inflation three months ago.

00:58:08.540 What they don't understand is that gun rights voters

00:58:11.660 don't need to see you shooting guns.

00:58:14.100 In fact, they'd rather not see you shoot guns if you shoot like that.

00:58:18.120 What they want to know is that you respect their constitutional rights.

00:58:23.340 That's what matters to them.

00:58:25.560 But the common thread here is that Democrats do not understand

00:58:28.640 the voters they're trying to pander to,

00:58:30.280 much less do they like them or respect them.

00:58:34.620 And that's just another reason why they're going to lose tomorrow.

00:58:38.540 And why they are today, canceled, a day ahead of time.

00:58:42.080 That'll do it for this portion of the show

00:58:43.300 as we move over to the members block.

00:58:44.700 Hope to see you there.

00:58:45.420 If not, talk to you tomorrow.

00:58:47.560 Godspeed.

00:58:47.800 We'll see you too.

00:58:48.900 Bye-bye.

00:58:57.380 Let's get to it.

00:58:58.860 Bye-bye.

00:59:03.400 Bye-bye.

00:59:09.360 Bye-bye.

00:59:12.140 Bye-bye.

00:59:13.040 Bye-bye.

00:59:14.500 Bye-bye.

00:59:15.720 Bye-bye.

00:59:16.420 Bye-bye.
