The Matt Walsh Show - Ep. 1409 - Unhinged Leftist Hordes Tear Down And Burn American Flag

00:00:00.000 Today on the Matt Walsh Show, anti-American protesters in D.C. yesterday tore down an American flag, burned it, and hoisted a foreign flag in its place.

00:00:07.160 It was one of the most disgraceful and infuriating displays we've ever witnessed, and it shows where the real dividing line in America is.

00:00:12.820 Also, Joe Biden finally explains why he dropped out of the race, and he explained it by not explaining it at all.

00:00:18.740 The White House press secretary does an even worse job of trying to explain why Biden is still fit to be president if he isn't fit to run for president.

00:00:25.380 And in keeping with one of the themes of this week, the Wall Street Journal publishes a report attempting to explain why so many people are choosing not to have kids.

00:00:31.660 Talk about all that and more today on the Matt Walsh Show.

00:00:54.700 Going online without ExpressVPN, it's like checking your bag at the airport without a lock.

00:01:04.100 Who knows how many people are opening your bag and going through your private stuff.

00:01:07.240 First, because of all your online traffic flows through their servers, internet service providers, including mobile network providers, know every single website you visit.

00:01:15.280 And in the U.S., these providers are legally allowed to sell that information to advertisers who use it to target you with advertisements.

00:01:20.620 But ExpressVPN reroutes 100% of your traffic through secure encrypted servers so your ISP can't see your browsing history.

00:01:28.900 ExpressVPN hides your IP address, making it extremely difficult for third parties to track your online activity.

00:01:34.160 Sounds complicated, but ExpressVPN is actually really easy to use.

00:01:37.340 Just fire up the app and click one button to get protected.

00:01:40.120 I love ExpressVPN because it works on all my family's devices, phones, laptops, tablets, and more.

00:01:44.720 I use it whenever I'm browsing the internet because I really don't care to have all these third parties knowing what I'm searching for.

00:01:50.980 Websites I visit, videos I watch, it's none of their business, and I'm certainly not going to let them profit off of my vulnerability.

00:02:07.840 Yesterday, as Kamala Harris addressed a black sorority in Indianapolis and Joe Biden prepared for his farewell ice cream party at the White House,

00:02:15.720 left-wing rioters took down the American flags flying at one of Washington, D.C.'s most iconic landmarks, Union Station.

00:02:23.200 Less than a mile from the Capitol complex, they raised Palestinian flags in their place.

00:02:27.500 Various members of the mob also waved the flags of terrorist groups.

00:02:31.040 And then, for good measure, they set the American flags on fire while chanting Allah Akbar.

00:02:36.500 They also violently dragged a hapless police officer on the ground, and the mob spray-painted a threat on a Columbus monument.

00:02:43.940 Hamas is coming, they wrote.

00:02:45.920 In other words, this isn't the last of the terrorism that you'll see.

00:02:49.560 This is only the beginning, they're saying.

00:02:51.800 Now, anyone who claims to be America first should be filled with blind, visceral rage watching what happened yesterday in Washington.

00:03:00.260 And for that matter, anyone who cares even remotely about the future of this country should be enraged.

00:03:04.120 And that explains why neither Biden nor Harris, for at least a day after it happened, said a word about it.

00:03:12.140 It was as if none of it happened.

00:03:14.380 But the footage was all over social media.

00:03:17.120 Here's what it looked like.

00:03:17.820 So it's been incredibly diverse here, and this is pretty much the most intense we've seen.

00:03:23.480 And it's unclear.

00:03:24.900 Oh, and right now, now there's stun grenades being put out or some sort of sound bobs.

00:03:29.340 And they're putting up, they're raising the Palestinian flag at that flagpole.

00:03:33.380 And you are hearing what appear to be stun grenades or firecrackers going off just on the other side.

00:03:39.460 There are a number of Palestinian flags being raised over there.

00:03:44.000 And the cloud you can hear is cheering very loudly right now.

00:03:48.800 Looks like police are still trying to gain control.

00:03:51.060 They're still trying to gain control.

00:04:21.040 Now, a country run by competent leaders would use physical force, up to and including lethal force if necessary,

00:04:43.840 to protect its flag and its monuments from this sort of barbarism.

00:04:49.180 If we allow this to happen, and we just did, then we don't have a country anymore.

00:04:54.320 We have anarchy.

00:04:55.800 It's the end result of everything the left has been teaching in universities for the past several decades.

00:04:59.360 It's the result of years of unchecked foreign migration, much of it illegal.

00:05:03.660 And it's here now.

00:05:06.020 Already, we should know the names of every single one of these rioters as well as where they came from.

00:05:10.960 How many of them are citizens?

00:05:12.760 How many of them work for NGOs that we're funding with our tax dollars?

00:05:15.840 These are questions that we'd have the answers to if our leaders cared about national self-preservation in the slightest, which they don't.

00:05:23.200 And to be clear, this was not simply a political protest about Israel.

00:05:26.400 Several of the rioters also carried Hamas and ISIS flags.

00:05:29.120 This was a pro-terrorist rally and an explicitly anti-American rally, which is why they're burning the American flag, in the nation's capital.

00:05:36.280 For all the consternation we heard about Charlottesville and the many hoaxes that rally spawned, it's remarkable, yet completely expected.

00:05:43.740 We will not hear a word about any of this in the mainstream press.

00:05:47.800 None of the people who claim to care about political violence on the left actually really care about it.

00:05:52.520 They endorse it.

00:05:53.260 Needless to say, if a pride flag was torn down and burned and replaced by some other flag, you know, imagine a mob of conservative white people tearing down a pride flag, burning it, and then hoisting, let's say, a Confederate flag in its place.

00:06:08.780 It'd be the lead story on every news broadcast for the next six weeks.

00:06:12.620 It should all repulse every single person in this country.

00:06:17.100 And I say that regardless of your position on the issue that supposedly spawned this riot.

00:06:21.280 It doesn't matter if you don't think Israel's prime minister should be speaking in Congress or if you oppose America's funding of Israel or whatever.

00:06:28.220 A true patriot does not take sides with these kinds of people, no matter what.

00:06:32.740 You lose the right to be taken seriously or listened to when you behave this way.

00:06:37.960 I can say for myself, I automatically oppose you and everything you stand for when you burn my nation's flag and you try to replace my nation's flag with some foreign flag.

00:06:49.760 I will never be a friend of yours or an ally to your cause when you do that.

00:06:54.660 Any hope of that is gone.

00:06:58.480 I don't care who you are or what your gripe is.

00:07:01.280 And I say that as someone who does not like the idea of a foreign leader speaking to Congress and telling us why we should give his country more money.

00:07:08.520 I didn't like it when Zelensky did it.

00:07:09.900 I don't like it when I didn't like it with Netanyahu.

00:07:13.140 But that doesn't excuse the mob violence in Washington. 0.99

00:07:16.140 It doesn't make me any kind of compatriot with scumbags who desecrate my flag and hate my country. 0.73

00:07:22.660 It also doesn't excuse the total failure of the police to prevent any of this from happening. 0.79

00:07:26.840 If you spent any amount of time looking at footage from January 6th, one of the first things you notice is that the police actually responded to varying degrees.

00:07:36.880 And, of course, in the years especially that followed January 6th, the police response was overwhelming.

00:07:41.900 Elderly women with cancer were hunted down and hit with trespassing charges.

00:07:45.060 The FBI scrutinized every second of video from that day to find more suspects.

00:07:49.420 Kamala Harris and Joe Biden, for their part, issued dire statements about how democracy was hanging in the balance.

00:07:54.060 They're still issuing statements about it.

00:07:56.840 Now, contrast that with what happened yesterday in the nation's capital.

00:08:00.180 Nobody stopped a mob from damaging federal property or raising these flags.

00:08:03.860 Some officers did attempt to engage the crowd at various points.

00:08:07.000 And the rioters responded by dragging them around like ragdolls. 0.99

00:08:55.920 Now, remember all the breathless news reports after January 6th about how officers were

00:09:12.160 supposedly attacked in the Capitol? There's not going to be any coverage of what happened

00:09:15.620 to this officer. There will be no teary-eyed testimony from this police officer leading

00:09:19.580 MSNBC every night for the next month. Adam Kinzinger isn't going to go on TV and weep

00:09:24.420 over it. There won't be any dragnet, no 10-year prison sentences. They don't care about this

00:09:29.660 cop because he was assaulted by a mob that they support. Of course, precisely no one is

00:09:34.520 surprised by the media's hypocrisy anymore. By this point, we're used to the fact that the

00:09:37.860 left gets a free pass to commit political violence. They injured dozens of Secret Service agents

00:09:41.940 and torched a church right outside the White House when Trump was president. The left's

00:09:45.480 response was to mock Trump for having to take cover in the White House bunker when that was

00:09:48.840 happening. The whole summer of 2020 was like that. Businesses all over the country were

00:09:52.220 raised as Democrats like Kamala cheered on the mobsters. But what happened yesterday

00:09:56.360 marks a major escalation in what Democrats are willing to tolerate in this country.

00:10:01.780 They're willing to tolerate foreign invaders raising a foreign flag in our Capitol.

00:10:07.260 I mean, that is now beyond dispute. It's on tape. Kamala Harris didn't condemn the mobsters

00:10:13.380 at Union Station yesterday because she knows they're her voters. She doesn't mind it when they deface 0.92

00:10:17.740 monuments with terroristic threats. She doesn't mind it when they drag park police officers 1.00

00:10:21.140 on the ground. Now, she did finally put out a brief statement today condemning what happened

00:10:26.040 yesterday. It took her 24 hours and she was quite tepid about it. But she reluctantly put the statement

00:10:31.520 out because she has no choice. She knows that she has to. It's just not you cannot get elected

00:10:35.460 yet in this country when you support when you openly support people who burn the American flag and replace

00:10:43.020 it with a foreign flag. But still, even with the tepid statement, Kamala is the exact same woman 0.69

00:10:49.500 she was in 2020 when she was bailing out BLM rioters who went on to murder people. Only now more than

00:10:54.880 ever, it's clear that she doesn't care about the alleged justification for the riots, whether they're

00:10:58.580 pro-BLM or pro-Hamas, doesn't matter. All she cares about is that the rioters are destroying

00:11:03.320 this country in a literal sense. Again, I mean, if these rioters had left attire marks on a LGBT flag

00:11:10.440 painted on the street or put their feet on Nancy Pelosi's desk, there'd be a nationwide manhunt to

00:11:15.160 find out who they are and destroy their lives forever. But because they desecrated America's flag

00:11:18.760 and America's monuments, they're basically untouchable. I can't emphasize enough that

00:11:25.000 dozens of crimes were committed yesterday in broad daylight. And we know the FBI won't do anything

00:11:32.220 about it. Remember that federal law that got attention under the Trump administration, which makes

00:11:36.560 it illegal to deface certain monuments? That's not going to be enforced here. Neither will the

00:11:41.580 laws against trespassing and obstruction that were used to throw January 6th defendants into

00:11:46.260 solitary confinement for months on end. Burning things in the middle of the city is also illegal.

00:11:53.000 There are multiple laws that are supposed to prevent you from burning anything in the middle

00:11:56.360 of a city street, least of all a piece of property that you ripped down. So this is not a free speech.

00:12:00.720 People have the right to burn the flag. This is not their flag. Uh, this was government property

00:12:06.220 and you're burning something in the middle. I mean, if you went down on a street corner and burned a

00:12:10.840 cardboard box, you would at least get a citation because open burning is illegal in the city without

00:12:18.980 a permit. There's many laws that could be enforced here. Totally valid laws, but those laws were not

00:12:29.000 enforced because the powers that be endorse this kind of political violence. And the people who

00:12:33.340 committed the vandalism seem to understand that because they made no effort to hide their identities.

00:12:38.460 The FBI could find them in a day if they wanted to. This is what the Christopher Columbus Memorial

00:12:43.700 Fountain and the Freedom Bell looked like yesterday afternoon. Notice how completely unafraid

00:12:48.460 the rioters are. Watch.

00:13:07.880 No one's trying to stop them. No one will ever try to find them and arrest them, even though they're

00:13:12.460 not even covering their faces. There'll be no investigation into how this mob was transported

00:13:18.660 to Washington, D.C. Even though we have footage of buses dropping them off to do all of this. Watch.

00:13:42.460 So you see the buses there. It's a pretty obvious question to ask here. Who's paying for those

00:13:48.220 buses? Is it the same billionaires and NGOs who funded those takeovers of college campuses a few

00:13:52.700 weeks ago, the ones where leftists occupied buildings and destroyed property while camping

00:13:56.240 out in matching tents? If so, it wouldn't be difficult to put RICO charges together and dismantle

00:14:02.160 all the funding that allows these acts of domestic terrorism to take place. At the very least,

00:14:06.100 the DOJ could put together 10-year prison sentences for the instigators. If they did it for January 6th,

00:14:11.020 they can do it here. But again, they don't do that because they want it to happen.

00:14:16.220 Go and check the press pages and social media accounts of members of Congress and the White

00:14:19.400 House. If you do that, you won't see condemnations of terrorist flags flying in the Capitol. Instead,

00:14:24.180 you'll find juvenile screeds about Israel's prime minister. For example, this is what Nancy Pelosi,

00:14:28.800 still the de facto leader of the Democrats in the House, decided to tweet out yesterday as America's

00:14:33.940 flag was being torched a few blocks away. Quote, Benjamin Netanyahu's presentation in the House

00:14:38.480 chamber today was by far the worst presentation of any foreign dignitary invited and honored with

00:14:42.700 the privilege of addressing the Congress of the United States. A nothing in her statement about

00:14:48.500 her own voting base, tearing down an American flag, burning it, and hoisting a foreign flag in its place. 1.00

00:14:55.480 Contrast that tweet with what Donald Trump was saying via video on January 6th. He repeatedly called

00:15:00.140 for peace. He told his supporters to go home, that violence and destroying government property wasn't

00:15:04.900 the answer. And for that, Biden's DOJ charged Trump with a series of crimes. Twitter kicked him off the

00:15:10.620 platform, so did Facebook. Just three and a half years later, Democrats aren't simply failing to

00:15:16.200 condemn the violence of their foot soldiers, they're encouraging it. Now, to be fair, I did come across

00:15:20.980 one example of a Democrat who, after a few hours, appeared to be mildly concerned about the pro-terrorist

00:15:25.880 demonstration at Union Square. And it was about as comical a response as you'd expect. As the Israeli 1.00

00:15:31.040 Prime Minister spoke, Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut wrote on Twitter, quote,

00:15:34.680 the suggestion that any American who objects to the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza is a Hamas

00:15:39.040 sympathizer was way out of bounds. So he's criticizing Netanyahu for daring to suggest that his critics

00:15:45.080 actually sympathize with terrorists. But just a few hours later, as the footage of rioters flying

00:15:49.360 Hamas flags circulated on social media, Murphy tweeted this little update, quote, I've seen some

00:15:55.120 disturbing images coming out of today's protests at the Capitol. I'll always support Americans exercising their

00:16:00.220 First Amendment rights, but pro-Hamas cheers and messages of hate and anti-Semitism have no place

00:16:04.620 in our country, period. Life comes at you fast, as the kids say. Of course, Chris Murphy didn't retract

00:16:12.160 his original post or issue any kind of apology, not going to engage in any kind of introspection as to

00:16:17.080 why swarms of Hamas sympathizers just vandalized the nation's capital and attacked a police officer or

00:16:21.940 look into who funded them. He also doesn't say anything to actually condemn the anti-American nature of

00:16:27.860 this, quote unquote, protest. The best Democrats could do is some half-hearted finger wag at the 0.99

00:16:33.820 rioters who went a little bit too far, who made things a little too obvious. Now, to their credit,

00:16:39.040 House Republicans were vocal throughout the day about what was happening, and they made sure that

00:16:42.900 the flags at Union Station were put back up last night. Watch.

00:16:47.140 Now, more than any other series of videos you can find, the clips I played today very clearly

00:17:03.080 illustrate the contrast between the two political parties in this country. And it's not that one

00:17:08.260 party is perfect or anything even close to perfect. It's that one party, the other party,

00:17:15.340 openly wants to destroy the country we're living in, and the other party doesn't. Even if they have

00:17:20.720 often proven themselves ineffective at preventing it from being destroyed, there's one party that

00:17:26.540 actively wants to destroy it, and that is the distinction. We're not even arguing about policy

00:17:31.540 at this point. We're talking about supporting the destruction of the country or opposing it. This is

00:17:36.300 the litmus test. When you see images of these scumbags tearing down and burning an American flag, 0.99

00:17:41.340 does it fill you with righteous fury or not? Do you oppose them and everything they stand for 1.00

00:17:48.000 or not? Do you want to preserve this country or tear it down? You know, I wish that the political

00:17:54.500 lines were more nuanced and less severe than that. I wish there were finer distinctions. I wish we could

00:18:00.320 afford to pick our teams based on questions less fundamental than should America continue to exist.

00:18:06.940 But we can't. And this is where we are right now. One side of the political aisle truly wants to

00:18:13.400 destroy this country. It's what they desire. It's what they're openly working towards.

00:18:18.860 Now, of course, as always, the corporate press is on the side of the enemies of civilization. Last

00:18:22.620 night, Politico ran this headline, which really belongs in a museum or something, quote,

00:18:26.480 Republicans pounce after Netanyahu protesters burn U.S. flags and wave Hamas ones instead.

00:18:35.280 The old Republicans pounce routine. In other words, the real problem here is not that left-wing

00:18:39.840 terrorists attack police officers and put up a terrorist flag while burning our own. The real 0.81

00:18:43.040 problem and the real story is that Republicans noticed what was happening. Republicans pounced.

00:18:50.120 Now, if Kamala Harris takes control of the White House, we'll be seeing a lot more flag burning to 1.00

00:18:53.960 the tune of Allah Akbar. There will be more political violence by thugs who worship foreign 0.99

00:18:58.260 flags. And in response at every turn, you know, Republicans will be portrayed as the problem for

00:19:03.840 pouncing. More than ever, it's clear that the Democrat platform is to replace this country's

00:19:09.960 voters and indoctrinate foot soldiers who are willing to use violence to enforce the party's ideology.

00:19:17.020 That's why Union Square looked like Gaza yesterday. That's why a foreign flag flew in the capital. 0.97

00:19:23.960 And it's what the whole country will look like if the current party in power stays there.

00:19:30.040 Now let's get to our five headlines.

00:19:37.080 Men, have you heard of Rose Sparks? This dual action prescription merges the powerhouse 1.00

00:19:41.400 ingredients found in generic Viagra and Cialis, Sildenafil and Tadalafil into one formidable

00:19:47.680 treatment. But it's not merely about the ingredients and the medication. It's how you're taking it.

00:19:52.040 That's why Rose Sparks are designed to dissolve under your tongue. That's huge because dissolvable

00:19:56.520 treatment hits your bloodstream faster than old school pills. Rose Sparks keeps you present

00:20:00.360 with your partner instead of waiting for a pill to work. Rose Sparks leverages the benefits of

00:20:05.940 sublingual administration, meaning the tablet dissolves under your tongue. This method allows

00:20:52.140 There's one other piece of footage from what I think was the protest yesterday. This is circulating

00:20:57.220 online. It's either this protest or another recent one, but this appears to be some of the protesters

00:21:08.300 doing a little cosplay theater routine where they're acting out a scenario where, I guess,

00:21:16.200 an IDF soldier executes some Palestinian POWs. And of course, they've stripped down to their underwear to

00:21:25.400 do this because they'll take any opportunity to do that. But let's watch this little fun theatrical

00:21:31.720 performance.

00:21:32.320 You don't have any friends left, you towering. You like that? You like watching your

00:21:59.860 husband, husband, and brother's side. That's why you're fine, you just lost your

00:22:07.820 women's food. How dare you document this? You. Yeah. Yeah. I'm gonna come out to your 0.98

00:22:26.860 family.

00:22:37.460 Last one. Israel is on the last one. 0.81

00:22:44.600 You know, I'm disappointed, first of all, that not a very committed performance by, well, the person

00:22:50.840 playing the Israeli soldier there carrying out the executions, that person, not a great performance,

00:22:59.580 certainly not what we would call a nuanced portrayal, but committed, committed, enthusiastic

00:23:07.600 performance. But the other ones I was quite disappointed in, I mean, they're killed and they

00:23:14.460 just lightly fall to the ground. That's not, you know, I, I, like, I've never been tied up and

00:23:19.560 executed before, but I'm pretty sure that if that were to happen, it's just like a quick drop to the

00:23:24.300 ground. You gotta be committed to it. It might hurt a little bit. You gotta be willing to, you know,

00:23:27.880 get a little bruise on your, on your, uh, on your elbows or whatever. But so not a very committed

00:23:33.960 performance from them. Um, and it's pretty obvious that those guys just, because look, this is a

00:23:40.120 left-wing protest and they're all a bunch of perverse fetishists as always. So this is some, 0.72

00:23:47.560 really, this is some sort of fetish thing. They're in their underwear. It's a humiliation fetish.

00:23:52.600 And that's what it's really about for them. Um, but when you watch that, you see that, you know,

00:23:58.920 these, these leftist radicals, they, they prove themselves again and again to be really the worst

00:24:06.800 of all worlds, right? Because they're these barbaric people who, who, you know, burn flags and 0.93

00:24:16.260 they, and they, and they're, they're rioting and they're doing all this kind of stuff. 0.99

00:24:21.900 And at the same time, so they, they've got that, but at the same time, they're also huge dorks.

00:24:29.860 And that's a, I mean, it's a, it's a combination we're used to these days, but it's really kind of a,

00:24:34.220 it's a unique combination because usually it's kind of one or the other, but they've got both

00:24:40.300 going. So you end up with this, with this weird combination of cringy loser thugs. And normally, 0.98

00:24:51.480 like if you're a cringy loser, at least you're not a thug. And if you're a thug, at least you're 1.00

00:24:55.040 not a cringy loser. But these people are all of those things combined. They just take a, you know, 0.99

00:25:03.400 it's like a vast array of bad people and they take the worst qualities of all the worst people

00:25:08.540 and they exemplify and they exemplify it. And it should be really easy to, when you see stuff like

00:25:17.400 that, when you see that, and then you see the flag burning and you can look at that and you can

00:25:23.420 immediately, even if you don't know what they're upset about, you don't know anything about the

00:25:27.340 issue that they're ostensibly protesting over. You should be able to look at that and say,

00:25:32.640 well, I don't know exactly, maybe I don't even, if I don't know what the issue is, I don't know

00:25:36.880 whose side I'm on, but I'm definitely not on their side. Like whatever they're upset, I'm not on their

00:25:41.000 side. I know that. That should be a pretty easy call to make. Joe Biden last night finally addressed

00:25:47.400 the nation to explain why he was dropping out of the race, except that he didn't explain it.

00:25:50.980 Um, there was one reason supposedly for this address, which was to let the nation know why

00:25:59.020 the sitting president who was running for reelection is suddenly not anymore, except that

00:26:05.420 didn't happen. That reason was never fulfilled. He never explained it. Here's a little bit of what

00:26:10.180 he did say. Let's watch. I revere this office, but I love my country more. It's been the honor of my

00:26:17.680 life to serve as your president. But in the defense of democracy, which is at stake, I think it's more

00:26:24.940 important than any title. I draw strength and I find joy in working for the American people.

00:26:31.780 But this sacred task of perfecting our union, it's not about me. It's about you. In this moment,

00:26:40.660 we can see those we disagree with, not as enemies, but as fellow Americans. Can we do that?

00:26:47.680 Does character in public life still matter? And the truth, the sacred cause of this country is

00:26:54.040 larger than any one of us. And those of us who cherish that cause, cherish it so much,

00:27:01.380 a cause of American democracy itself, must unite to protect it. You know, in recent weeks,

00:27:08.260 it's become clear to me that I need to unite my party in this critical endeavor. I believe

00:27:15.400 my record as president, my leadership in the world, my vision for America's future,

00:27:22.760 all merited a second term. But nothing, nothing can come in the way of saving our democracy.

00:27:31.280 That includes personal ambition. So I've decided the best way forward

00:27:36.060 is to pass the torch to a new generation.

00:27:38.820 He says he wants to save democracy and he's passing the torch. He mumbles and stumbles through

00:27:44.400 the address, which is only 11 minutes. I didn't even play the worst parts of it. He can barely

00:27:49.060 get through this thing. It really is. I mean, what else can we say about the fact that the guy is

00:27:55.940 mentally not with it? He's fully, at this point, succumbed to senility. And I think well-established.

00:28:02.840 I mean, it's, it's why he's not running for president anymore. He's not even looking into

00:28:06.920 the camera. You know, he's staring off into the distance somewhere else. It's a mess.

00:28:11.420 But always remember, this is the guy that the Democrats would have and wanted to prop up and

00:28:17.300 push into a second term if they could possibly get away with it, but they couldn't. It's just

00:28:22.720 really, really bad. And meanwhile, there are, of course, some conspiracy theories on the right

00:28:28.440 that I've seen on Twitter saying that this is a, that that address was AI or a body double.

00:28:35.860 You know, Biden is really already dead is the conspiracy theory. And this is not even him.

00:28:41.600 But I think I addressed this already. It just doesn't, you have to understand how little sense

00:28:48.640 that makes, right? Because if, if Biden was actually physically incapacitated or no longer with us

00:28:58.020 on planet earth, that would be an enormous benefit to the Democrats because then all suggestion that

00:29:06.740 they committed some sort of coup would be out the window because then you couldn't call it a coup.

00:29:10.380 I mean, if the guy actually is physically incapacitated or dead, then you, he can't run for

00:29:16.540 president obviously. So that would legitimize the coup, allows them to install Kamala Harris as president 1.00

00:29:24.000 without her being elected, which would be a huge political benefit to her. So there's no reason

00:29:29.760 why they would hide that. It doesn't benefit them to hide it. And also, I think it's funny the

00:29:35.040 suggestion that they, but so they went out and they did AI or they did a body double, but the fake

00:29:41.760 version of Biden is even more mumbly and incoherent than the real Biden. I mean, what's the point of

00:29:48.060 that? So I think we could be sure that it really is Biden, but the, the, the real problem is that he

00:29:55.800 doesn't explain why he wants to pass the torch or what made him decide to pass it. When just a week

00:30:02.980 ago, he was insisting that he's the only one who can save democracy a week ago. And every point up

00:30:10.040 into that moment, he was the only one who could do it. And now he's passing the torch. He doesn't

00:30:14.540 tell us why he's, he's decided a new generation must save us. So he doesn't level with us or tell

00:30:23.820 us what's really going on. Even while he claims that he always levels with us, we know that he

00:30:27.300 doesn't. He also claims that he's putting aside personal ambition in defense of democracy, even

00:30:31.900 though his personal ambition was keeping him in the race until he literally had no choice but to

00:30:36.840 leave. He's been abandoned by everyone. Everyone's come out against them. He lost all of his campaign

00:30:43.880 funding. So he has no friends, no allies, no one taking his side, no money. He had to leave.

00:30:53.620 And only then did he drop out. So that's, what's funny about this. Biden, he he's presenting himself

00:30:59.600 now in the media, of course, is, is amplifying this narrative that Biden is an example of someone

00:31:08.180 putting aside their personal ambition and putting the country first. But it's the opposite. He's an,

00:31:14.960 he's an example of what happens when personal ambition is your only guiding principle, the only

00:31:20.300 thing that matters to you. That's the story here. That's the great tragedy that is Joe Biden.

00:31:26.540 And the end of his career is tragic. I don't feel sorry for him. It's all self-induced. He did this

00:31:34.300 to himself. I don't feel sorry for him. I have no pity on him. I don't. But it is, it is a, it is a tragic story

00:31:39.720 that he was driven by this solely by a desire for personal advancement. He did, he did whatever he had

00:31:47.720 to do his whole career with this, this, this one thing always in mind, that power for himself.

00:31:56.300 And, uh, and he finally gets there, you know, he drags himself or he is rather dragged to that place

00:32:05.060 that he has pursued for 50 years. And he gets there and it ends in total disgrace and humiliation.

00:32:13.520 Speaking of disgrace and humiliation, Karen Jean-Pierre finally reemerged yesterday. 0.96

00:32:20.020 And, uh, I want you to watch this exchange between her and a reporter. Listen.

00:32:24.860 The president believes that it's best for the country that he not be in the Oval Office for

00:32:29.060 another four years. How can you assure the American people that he's up to be in the office for the

00:32:32.600 next six months? Well, first I would say is that, um, and I've heard these suggestions out there.

00:32:38.060 This is not an answer to, to you. This is a answer to the suggestions that I've had. I've,

00:32:42.920 I've heard, uh, about him resigning from office. We believe and any suggestion of that note is

00:32:50.100 ridiculous. It is not what we believe the president. I just laid out what the president has been able 0.50

00:32:55.360 to do in almost four years and it's been successful. He's been able to do more again than any president

00:33:01.200 has been able to do in two terms. He's been able to do that more in one term and he wants to finish

00:33:07.040 a job that he started and delivering more historic results for the American people.

00:33:12.020 And look, he didn't step down from, uh, from campaigning or from running because he didn't

00:33:20.800 believe he can serve in a second term. That is not why. And what I would say as I just finished my

00:33:26.100 opening, I would say, tune in, tune into what he has to say tonight. And he will lay that out

00:33:30.960 for free. You all in the American people onto, as to why he made that decision.

00:33:35.160 Yeah. Tune in tonight. He'll lay it out. And then he did, he did not lay it out at all.

00:33:40.180 All he had was a cliche. Oh, I'm passing the torch. Okay. Why? We know you're passing the torch.

00:33:46.180 Why are you doing that though? What exactly made you decide to do that when you weren't going to do

00:33:52.840 that a week ago? It would be easier to swallow the total lack of explanation. If for a period of time,

00:34:02.960 he had been up to this moment, he had been publicly acknowledging at least the possibility

00:34:07.960 that he might drop out of the race, but there was no possibility. It was, it was, remember it's only

00:34:14.260 a couple of weeks ago that he said only, only God, God himself would have to come down from heaven

00:34:18.840 and tell him to drop out. So did that happen? Did God speak to you and tell you, is that what happened?

00:34:24.620 So we start with a good question. If he can't run for president, then how can he be president?

00:34:31.960 The answer was complete garbled gibberish, which, you know, well, let me just quote,

00:34:37.340 here's Karen Jean-Pierre. Can I just quote? Here's what she said.

00:34:41.300 Well, first I would say is that, um, and I've heard these suggestions out there. This is not an answer

00:34:46.400 to, to you. This is an answer to the suggestions that I've, I've heard about him resigning from office.

00:34:51.120 We believe in any suggestion of that note is ridiculous. It is not what we believe the

00:34:56.220 president. I just laid out what the president has been able to do in almost four years and it's

00:34:59.380 been successful. Okay. Well, uh, uh, well, thanks then. You know, that would have been a great answer

00:35:05.880 to the question. If the question was, Hey Jean-Pierre, can you say a whole bunch of words that don't mean

00:35:11.900 anything? If that was the question, the answer was fantastic. It was a great answer to that question,

00:35:17.080 but that was not unfortunately the question. And, um, you know, you, I do almost feel

00:35:25.020 pity on the white house press secretaries in situations like this. I mean, I don't,

00:35:30.620 I don't get quite to the level of pity, but almost when you realize they're in a spot where,

00:35:36.500 yeah, the answer is, it's just gibberish. It doesn't mean anything, but there's not,

00:35:40.200 she can't, she cannot give a good answer because like the real answer is, yeah, look guys,

00:35:47.160 the president's senile. Uh, I mean, it's a bad situation. Uh, you know, yeah, he should not be

00:35:53.320 president anymore. He shouldn't have been president this whole time, but he is. And so we're just going

00:35:56.900 to finish this thing out. Uh, look, we, we could, we could strong arm him into dropping out of the

00:36:03.380 race, but we can't, we can't strong arm him into, into not being president. That's why he's still

00:36:08.860 president. Cause the freaking old guy just won't. Cause he insists like that's the actual answer, 0.99

00:36:15.100 but she's not going to say that. I wish she would, but, uh, she's not going to say that.

00:36:22.260 So we're left with, with this. Trump had a rally in North Carolina yesterday. And there's one,

00:36:29.080 one thing that came up in this rally that I want to talk about. Um, let's play the clip first.

00:36:35.600 So now we have a new victim to defeat Lyon, Kamala Harris, Lyon, L-Y-I-N apostrophe.

00:36:46.460 The most incompetent and far left vice president in American history. By the way, they did a poll.

00:36:53.700 She was rated the worst vice president in history. I've never seen that poll before,

00:36:58.500 but that's the poll. So this is big news. Uh, Trump debuted his new nickname for Kamala. And, uh,

00:37:06.180 I got to say, man, not feeling it kind of mid as the kids would say. It's a, it's a bit,

00:37:13.120 it's a bit mid, it's a mid nickname, not Trump's best work. I think you could do better. Lyon Kamala

00:37:18.640 doesn't really flow. It doesn't roll off the tongue. And you could argue there's a double meaning there,

00:37:23.920 which is kind of funny that Kamala has done a lot of, uh, lying to get ahead. You know, 0.99

00:37:29.760 she's been in all kinds of positions. One could assume some of them lying, but, uh, I, yeah, I

00:37:35.960 don't, I don't even think that he intends it that way. So I think it's just Lyon. Like she's telling

00:37:39.760 I also Lyon, isn't the most defining thing about her. I mean, yeah, she lies, but saying that a

00:37:46.020 politician lies is redundant. It's generic. It's not even that compelling to the voter because,

00:37:51.480 you know, when you tell someone who doesn't know much about a politician and you try to explain

00:37:56.560 why this politician is bad and why, why, why are they bad? And you say, oh, well, she lies. And 1.00

00:38:02.400 most voters say, oh yeah, well, they all do. Every politician lies. So that really, so who cares?

00:38:08.640 Um, and also Trump has used Lyon for like 10 other people. And I'll say this too, that if this has not

00:38:16.440 already happened on Tik TOK, it will, someone's going to take that and say, yeah, she's Lyon Kamala. 0.99

00:38:23.700 You're, you're darn right. And then it's going to be, you know, like L I O N she's a, she's a lion,

00:38:28.940 a lioness. There's gonna be some kind of thing like that. I guarantee they're going to try to 0.97

00:38:33.820 should be super corny, but that's what they're going to do. So I've been trying to workshop some

00:38:39.200 other options. Um, I put out a poll on Twitter. I'm taking this very seriously. This will be my one

00:38:44.300 great contribution to the Trump campaign. Come up with a better nickname. I'll, I'll make sure they

00:38:48.700 see it. Probably won't matter, but I'll make sure they see it at least. Um, I know Trump doesn't

00:38:54.140 often use alliteration with his nicknames, but I think a name like Kamala really lends itself to it.

00:38:59.560 I think he should be using alliteration more than he does. Uh, especially when there are so many

00:39:04.860 sounds that fit with her. So many possibilities, corrupt Kamala, commie Kamala, cackling Kamala. 0.91

00:39:12.700 Someone suggested Kumala, like C-O-U-P-M-A-L-A, uh, Scamala is something that we've made use of here

00:39:22.080 at the daily wire. So right now in my poll with nearly 50,000 votes counted, cackling Kamala and

00:39:26.780 Scamala are in the lead. Um, and there are possibilities with, with the name Harris too.

00:39:31.700 One suggestion I had was harebrained Harris. It's a little old school, you know, it's like a,

00:39:37.340 it's like a nickname that a school bully in 1937 might use, but Trump hasn't shied away from that

00:39:43.020 with Nikki Haley. Uh, he called her bird brain. Wasn't that Nikki Haley was bird brain. So this is

00:39:48.480 very much in that vein. Um, but I think, you know, I, I think corrupt and corrupt Kamala and, uh,

00:39:56.380 commie Kamala are both really good. Cackling Kamala. I think I kind of lean towards that. 0.94

00:40:01.800 And it's not because the fact that she cackles is the most important thing about her. That's not

00:40:05.580 the best argument against her that you can make, but it's kind of visceral. It has a visceral feel

00:40:09.760 to it. It flows, it works. And, um, and cackling just, it brings to mind other things besides just

00:40:17.060 having an annoying laugh. It just kind of, there's a, there's an image that comes with it that I think

00:40:21.900 sort of works. And so that would be my suggestion, but we'll, I'll wait for the poll to a few more hours

00:40:26.980 on the poll. I'll wait for those results. And, um, and we'll see it kind of, yeah, there's some

00:40:33.420 people have said, well, forget about the nickname thing. This is too serious for that. Let's get down

00:40:38.940 to business. We don't need to do nicknames this time. I can see an argument for that, but Trump is

00:40:43.200 doing the nickname thing. So if you're going to do it, I think you need to make it stick.

00:40:47.380 And of course, this election won't be decided by a nickname. I realize, and I've been saying for days

00:40:51.420 now, warning that the threat posed by a Harris candidacy is serious and should be taken seriously.

00:40:58.920 Um, what will happen? How is this going to shake out? I don't know. I can't predict.

00:41:04.200 I'm incredibly bad at making political predictions. I've proven that time and time again,

00:41:08.640 which is kind of strange because I, I think I'm pretty good at making cultural predictions. So I

00:41:14.280 can predict with pretty good accuracy where the culture is headed. I think I've also proven that

00:41:19.460 over the years, I can tell you what's next on the great metaphorical slippery slope and I'm usually

00:41:25.360 vindicated, but with politics, my crystal ball is very defective. And, um, like, for example,

00:41:34.880 I was confidently predicting last week that efforts to replace Biden would go away after the Trump

00:41:41.800 assassination attempt. And boy, was I wrong about that, but I thought the Democrats would just chalk

00:41:48.400 this election up to a hopeless cause and let bite, you know, strategically let Biden take the fall

00:41:54.200 because if somebody is going to lose to Trump, they'd rather it be some old guy who's not going

00:41:59.280 to be with us much longer, let him absorb all of that. And, uh, and then regroup for 2028.

00:42:06.300 I thought that's the strategy they would take. I was wrong. Um, maybe they're still chalking it up to

00:42:12.020 a hopeless clause. Anyway, they're letting Harris take the fall in order to clear her out as an option

00:42:16.420 for 2028. So they can move on. I don't know. Um, maybe she goes on to win. Maybe they think she

00:42:23.560 really can win. You know, there's an argument when you look at the electoral map that the Democrats are

00:42:30.600 headed for a wipeout, at least at the top of the ballot. Um, and I could see that I could see Kamala 0.97

00:42:37.560 falling flat on her face. There's also an argument that she mobilizes Democrat base. She drives the 1.00

00:42:43.880 female vote, energizes voters who are sick of, you know, prior to Biden dropping out, 1.00

00:42:50.280 there was a majority of voters who said that they want different options. And so there are some voters

00:42:56.500 out there who are just like sick of the same old and want something new. You can't underestimate the

00:43:03.560 American desire to move on from things that have lost their novelty and find something new.

00:43:09.560 Not even necessarily because it's better, but just because it's different.

00:43:15.380 Now, Kamala actually is not different. She's been a politician her whole career. She's also 1.00

00:43:21.420 almost 60. You know, this is kind of how sad it is that, uh, we're so used to the gerontocracy that

00:43:28.860 someone who's 60 years old is now the youth. This is, this is a youth movement with someone who's 60.

00:43:39.140 Okay. Um, but even so in, in comparison, she's, uh, younger and they can try to make her into more 0.99

00:43:48.420 of a novelty act. Uh, is that enough to get her over, over the hump? If you'll pardon the, the expression 0.99

00:43:54.580 where she's concerned, um, I don't know that. So that from now on, that is going to be my political

00:44:01.600 prediction going forward. I don't know. I just don't know. What I do know is that, uh,

00:44:07.960 we should at least take it seriously and you have to vote.

00:46:02.060 Today for our daily cancellation, we have something of a sequel to yesterday's cancellation. Yesterday,

00:46:05.900 we talked about how Kamala Harris, if elected, God forbid, would be the first president in over a

00:46:09.540 century to be childless. I explain why that would be a bad thing for the country. There are a lot of

00:46:13.520 reasons to oppose her presidency. The fact that she prioritized personal ambition over having a

00:46:17.700 family is not the only reason or even the main reason, but it is a reason. Now, I want to expand

00:46:21.940 the conversation beyond Kamala Harris. It just so happens that, and this is unrelated to Kamala Harris,

00:46:27.120 but the Wall Street Journal this week published a lengthy article about our societal shift away from

00:46:33.140 parenting and family life titled, Why Americans Aren't Having Babies. And here's some of the article.

00:46:37.660 Quote, Americans aren't just waiting longer to have kids and having fewer once they start.

00:46:41.660 They're less likely to have any at all. Women without children, rather than those having fewer, 0.89

00:46:45.060 are responsible for most of the decline in average births among 35 to 44-year-olds during their

00:46:49.080 lifetime so far, according to an analysis of the Census Bureau's current population survey data

00:46:52.900 by University of Texas demographer Dean Spears for the Wall Street Journal. Childlessness

00:46:57.400 accounted for over two-thirds of the 6.5% drop in average births between 2012 and 2022,

00:47:02.080 while more people are becoming parents later in life. 80% of the babies born in 2022 are to women

00:47:06.940 under 35, according to CDC National Vital Statistics data. Quote, some may still have

00:47:12.940 children, but whether it would be enough to compensate for the delays that are driving down

00:47:16.200 fertility overall seems unlikely, says Karen Benjamin Guzzo, director of the Carolina Population

00:47:20.480 Center at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. The change is far-reaching. More women in 0.98

00:47:26.040 35 to 44 age range across all races, income levels, employment statuses, regions, and broad education

00:47:30.920 groups aren't having children. So here we've established much of what we already knew. This

00:47:35.640 is a real trend, a rising trend of people not just having fewer kids, but choosing not to have any kids

00:47:41.000 at all. What's interesting is the why. And this article takes a stab at that question, as so many in

00:47:45.860 the past have. And I think it gets kind of surprisingly close to the answer. Quote, as more women gain access to 1.00

00:47:51.840 birth control and entered the workforce in the 1970s, reshaping family life and expectations around

00:47:55.820 gender, Americans began having fewer kids. By 1980, the average number of children per family was 1.8,

00:48:02.200 down from a high of 3.6 during the post-depression baby boom, according to Gallup. Now researchers say

00:48:07.960 having children at all has begun to feel optional. Quote, to be a human being for most people meant to

00:48:12.320 have children, says Anastasia Berg, co-author with Rachel Wiseman of the new book, What Are Children For?

00:48:17.800 on ambivalence and choice. You didn't think about how much it would cost. It was taken for granted,

00:48:23.360 she says. But unlike their parents and grandparents, the author says, younger Americans view kids as one

00:48:28.800 of the many elements that can create a meaningful life, weighed against other personal and professional

00:48:32.420 ambitions. The investments of child rearing don't always land in children's favor. And we also get

00:48:37.900 several examples of childless couples offering their own sort of testimonials and explanations of why

00:48:43.600 they've chosen to live this way. So here's just one. Quote, Beth Davis loves her niece and nephew,

00:48:49.540 but she isn't envious of how much time and money her siblings spend bouncing between volleyball 0.97

00:48:53.980 tournaments, baseball games, and trips to the mall to replace outgrown clothes. Davis, who works in

00:48:58.760 marketing, and her husband, Jacob Edenfield, 41, both say they always expected to hit a moment when

00:49:03.280 they too wanted to become parents. That still hadn't happened by the time they started dating in their

00:49:07.100 mid-30s. They decided to start reorienting their lives. With a combined income of $280,000,

00:49:11.660 the couple's able to put about $4,500 a month toward what they hope will be a mid-50s retirement.

00:49:17.860 Another $2,600 pays rent on a sprawling Creole townhouse. The remaining $8,000 or so, much of

00:49:23.520 which they assume would have been eaten up by child rearing, grows primarily toward enjoying their

00:49:27.740 lives. The couple often dines at the city's upscale restaurants, regularly works out at a high-end

00:49:31.640 wellness center, recently paid cash for a BMW. Edenfield meditates for an hour every morning and works on

00:49:37.340 the novel. He's writing at the local corner bar many nights. For companionship, the couple fosters

00:49:42.320 a rotating cast of Bengal cats. Of course, the cats. Always with the cats. The rest of the personal

00:49:49.500 examples given in this article are like this. Childless people decide to remain childless,

00:49:52.920 primarily so that they could spend more money on themselves, treat themselves to more luxuries,

00:49:57.900 generally focus more on themselves. It's the same story we've always heard. What I appreciate by the

00:50:02.580 article is that it illustrates a point I've tried to make many times, which is that all this stuff

00:50:07.460 about how people aren't having kids because they can't afford it is when it comes down to it, mostly

00:50:13.120 nonsense. Now, sure, inflation is bad. The economy isn't in great shape, but you're still in a much

00:50:18.900 better place financially than the vast majority of humans who've ever become parents. People have had

00:50:24.860 kids with a lot less money and significantly fewer resources. There's just no question about that.

00:50:29.860 So if you're one of these childless by choice types, there's no getting around the fact that

00:50:34.380 literally billions of people poorer and worse off than you have had kids. And in light of that fact,

00:50:40.440 it's hard to blame it on the economy or the expenses involved. I had kids when our total

00:50:45.360 household income was $44,000 a year. We had twins, so it was a family of four on $44,000 a year. Now,

00:50:51.340 we weren't impoverished by any means. This isn't a story of abject poverty, but we certainly weren't

00:50:56.920 close to well off, and we had precisely zero dollars and zero cents in savings. So when I hear

00:51:02.460 someone who makes significantly more money than I made at the time and is older and has savings and

00:51:07.360 is married to someone who also works and has savings, and this person says they can't afford

00:51:11.520 to have kids, it makes no sense. I mean, if you can't afford it, how did I afford it with fewer

00:51:16.880 resources and less money? Again, how did and how do the billions of people in much worse shape than

00:51:24.320 either of us afford it if you allegedly can't? The answer, as this article notes, is that it's not

00:51:31.860 really about the money. It's about what you prioritize, what you think life is for. I mean,

00:51:37.700 that is the thing. What is life for? In the past, people had kids not because they were living in so

00:51:43.560 much luxury and comfort that they thought they could afford it, but because they believed that

00:51:48.380 having kids is what adults are supposed to do. The question of whether they could afford it,

00:51:55.220 it never even came up. It wasn't even a thing they talked about. It would have been nonsensical

00:51:59.600 to even ask them that. If you had gone up to someone like this and said, well, can you afford to have

00:52:05.240 kids? They would have looked at you like the question doesn't mean anything. Asking if they could

00:52:09.600 afford to have children would have been like asking if they could afford to breathe air or

00:52:13.340 bask in the warmth of the sun. Afford has nothing to do with it. You have children because this is

00:52:20.100 what human existence is about. This is what you're supposed to do. If you're unable to have kids,

00:52:25.460 despite your best efforts, then that's a sign perhaps that God has called you to something else

00:52:28.860 and you should figure out what that thing is. But the idea of choosing to have no children,

00:52:33.540 choosing to live a life focused only on your own comfort and enjoyment, would have not even

00:52:37.900 even occurred to people in the past and many people still living in the world today.

00:52:42.800 Now, if you discard this way of living and thinking, as our culture has done, you're left

00:52:50.400 with a question. It's a now very familiar question that we ask in so many other areas of life.

00:52:56.620 You've discarded that thing that people have believed and have centered their life around forever.

00:53:01.620 what do you replace it with? If not that, then what? If you reject the idea that you should have kids

00:53:10.480 because that's what you're supposed to do, because it's one of the reasons you exist,

00:53:15.240 it's what life is for. If you reject that conception of human existence, then

00:53:19.360 what is your alternative conception? Now, we always get the same answer from these articles and stories

00:53:25.940 about childless couples. For them, life is for eating nice dinners and going on vacations and buying 0.87

00:53:30.640 expensive cars and other consumer goods. But what is that for? I mean, why does any of that matter?

00:53:37.720 So you got a BMW, who cares? Like, why is that better than getting a car, you know, a used car for

00:53:43.560 $25,000? I mean, who cares? Why does one matter more than the other? Why do you find meaning in that?

00:53:50.180 Why does it matter? Why should you find happiness in any of that? Where is the purpose in it? Where is

00:53:54.320 the meaning? Like when you're lying in bed at night, you're thinking like, what is all this for? Or do you

00:54:00.120 never think that? Do you live a life like a half-sentient person who doesn't even contemplate 1.00

00:54:05.960 any of this stuff? Is that the case? Well, who knows? But they have no answer to any of those

00:54:10.980 questions. This is why the rise of childlessness really matters. We aren't judging people's

00:54:16.960 lifestyle choices, quote-unquote, because we want to be mean or whatever. It matters because,

00:54:22.320 first of all, first of all, if too many people decide not to propagate the species, extinction

00:54:28.280 follows, and avoiding extinction matters. If that doesn't matter, then nothing does. And second,

00:54:35.780 even before the physical extinction of the human race, which is a rather important detail,

00:54:41.620 we face a kind of philosophical extinction, the loss of meaning, the loss of any objective sense of

00:54:47.480 purpose for human life, any idea of why we are here and what all of this is for. That's what hangs

00:54:55.060 in the balance. That's why it matters. And the people who don't understand that or pretend not to

00:55:02.020 are today. Canceled. That'll do it for the show today. Thanks for watching. Thanks for listening.

00:55:06.320 Talk to you tomorrow. Have a great day. Godspeed.
