00:02:35.240 ...emphasizing on this show was that a major disaster involving a commercial airliner was extremely likely to occur in the near future.

00:02:43.760 There were simply too many close calls in the skies happening far too often, especially close to the ground, to come to any other conclusion.

00:03:00.420 So, when 2025 began with a low-altitude mid-air collision at Washington's Reagan Airport,

00:03:12.980 Everyone who was paying attention knew that a disaster like this would happen, and then it did.

00:03:18.760 Now, one of the many lessons that we should draw from that mid-air collision is that when a pending catastrophe seems obvious to you,

00:03:52.860 So today we're going to talk at length about a new threat that poses a significant danger to every American

00:03:59.340 who travels on a plane in this country, up to and including the President of the United States.

00:04:04.460 This is a threat that, as far as I can tell, no mainstream news outlet or commentator has mentioned.

00:04:11.080 But it is urgent, and federal action should be taken immediately.

00:04:15.060 I'm talking about the very uncomfortable but also very apparent fact

00:04:19.280 that there are quite a few unhinged leftist air traffic controllers in this country,

00:04:25.220 many of whom have spent the last year or so posting on social media

00:04:29.320 about their plans to sabotage the aviation industry and the United States at large.

00:04:34.440 Several of these individuals are deranged, entitled, and, by their own admission, dangerous.

00:04:40.740 And they need to be dealt with.

00:04:43.180 Before we get into specific examples,

00:04:45.240 I want to briefly go back to the mid-air collision over the Potomac in January.

00:04:50.880 There are many factors that contributed to this disaster,

00:04:53.120 including poor flying by the Black Hawk pilot.

00:04:55.920 We know that.

00:04:57.040 But if you ask the White House,

00:04:58.360 and if you listen to the audio transcripts between air traffic control

00:05:01.800 and the two aircraft involved in the incident,

00:05:04.060 it's clear that air traffic control was not entirely blameless.

00:05:08.020 This is the first significant interaction between the controller and the military helicopter

00:05:12.980 that would later crash into the passenger plane.

00:05:16.120 If you haven't heard this, or even if you have, listen again.

00:05:19.820 Here it is.

00:05:20.200 This is a useful instruction.

00:05:42.800 The controller is telling the pilot of the Black Hawk

00:05:44.960 that a CRJ aircraft, the passenger plane,

00:05:47.820 is just south of the Woodrow Bridge.

00:05:50.200 And he gives its current altitude and some information about its approach.

00:05:53.900 And the Black Hawk pilot acknowledges the information,

00:05:56.420 saying they'll steer clear of the CRJ.

00:05:59.460 But the controller doesn't seem to notice that the Black Hawk,

00:06:02.340 over the next 30 seconds, does not, in fact,

00:06:04.840 steer clear of the airliner.

00:06:06.280 Instead, the two aircraft are on a collision course.

00:06:08.900 It's not until an automated alarm sounds in the control tower,

00:06:12.820 warning of an imminent collision,

00:06:14.360 that the controller notices the issue.

00:06:16.020 So listen to what he says at that very moment.

00:06:21.240 Listen.

00:06:21.400 Alright, this is Rhett.

00:06:51.400 Now, this time around, at a critical moment,

00:06:58.620 the controller does not tell the Black Hawk helicopter

00:07:01.520 where the CRJ is or what its altitude is.

00:07:04.940 He doesn't say, avoid the CRJ at 10 o'clock at your same altitude,

00:07:08.300 or anything like that, something specific like that.

00:07:09.940 Instead, he simply tells the Black Hawk pilot to avoid the CRJ.

00:07:14.020 And it appears that, in response to that vague instruction,

00:07:17.700 the Black Hawk pilots scanned the sky for a CRJ

00:07:21.180 and identified the wrong CRJ in this very crowded airspace.

00:07:26.460 So, you know, they were avoiding the wrong plane.

00:07:30.060 This was obviously a critical mistake,

00:07:32.020 one that the controller shares responsibility for.

00:07:35.160 Although, to be clear, a small portion of the ATC's command

00:07:37.920 wasn't audible in the Black Hawk

00:07:39.280 because the Black Hawk keyed their radio at the same time.

00:07:41.900 So, as we said, a whole combination of factors went into this.

00:07:46.740 Now, after the crash, it emerged that Washington's Reagan Airport

00:07:50.240 normally has a dedicated controller

00:07:51.900 who focuses solely on helicopters,

00:07:53.700 but at this particular moment,

00:07:55.220 one controller was doing double duty,

00:07:57.120 handling fixed-wing planes in addition to helicopters.

00:08:01.000 In an interview with federal investigators,

00:08:02.780 the controller stated, quote,

00:08:03.720 There was one point that I thought about asking for backup,

00:08:06.840 but it was, as soon as I was thinking about it,

00:08:09.960 you know, I got rid of a few helicopters,

00:08:11.500 so it was a little complex,

00:08:13.180 but it was manageable for me.

00:08:15.900 Now, I'm beginning with the crash above the Potomac

00:08:17.940 because it illustrates a couple of facts

00:08:19.460 that are very important to keep in mind.

00:08:21.480 First of all, air traffic controllers are

00:08:23.280 apparently capable of an extraordinary degree of self-deception.

00:08:27.160 After all, when you allow two aircraft to fly into one another,

00:08:29.780 by definition, the situation was not manageable.

00:08:34.000 But more importantly, the crash illustrates

00:08:35.900 that air traffic controllers,

00:08:38.080 I mean, if you needed this illustrated for you,

00:08:40.940 air traffic controllers have a very important job.

00:08:43.980 Even with all the automation that we have,

00:08:46.580 they are a critical line of defense

00:08:48.280 against aviation disasters.

00:08:51.000 Our lives, when you're in a plane,

00:08:53.100 your life is in the hands of these people.

00:08:57.420 And therefore, they should behave professionally

00:09:01.080 at all times, even when they're off the clock.

00:09:05.340 You shouldn't have to worry that these people are,

00:09:07.720 you know, insane or sociopathic.

00:09:11.660 You're paying their salary.

00:09:13.500 You put your life in their hands.

00:09:16.400 And in return, at a minimum,

00:09:18.060 they should demonstrate that they're not crazy.

00:09:21.500 But many air traffic controllers are instead demonstrating,

00:09:24.900 one of the, of course, largest social media platforms

00:09:35.900 On Reddit, which is especially popular with leftists,

00:09:40.880 where employees of various organizations,

00:09:44.160 from Panera Bread to Walmart to, you know,

00:09:47.000 McDonald's, anything,

00:09:48.400 they talk, sort of shop,

00:09:50.460 about their experiences on the job.

00:09:52.140 And very often, as you might imagine,

00:09:54.540 the posts are extremely negative.

00:09:56.940 And that's why they're there.

00:09:58.600 People are airing out their grievances

00:10:00.500 and making all kinds of highly inflammatory statements.

00:10:03.880 Sometimes the posts are threatening

00:10:05.440 or reveal signs of obvious mental illness.

00:10:07.900 This is very common on Reddit in general.

00:10:11.380 And all things considered,

00:10:12.180 that's, you know, probably fine

00:10:13.860 when you're talking about the guy

00:10:15.320 who's making your sandwich

00:10:16.480 or boxing up your flat screen TV

00:10:18.680 or whatever.

00:10:19.520 But it's not so fine

00:10:22.240 when you're talking about somebody

00:10:23.600 who has the capacity to kill

00:10:25.260 hundreds if not thousands of passengers

00:10:27.280 in a matter of seconds.

00:10:36.560 or if they aren't competent enough
