00:04:45.660 And we'll start with the untimely death of 29-year-old Tazia Fortune, who's a black woman in Mississippi who was found hanging from a tree in the first week of August of this year.

00:04:56.540 Now, here's how the Associated Press, probably the biggest news organization on the planet, covered this woman's death. Watch.

00:05:04.560 In North Carolina, police are investigating the August 21st death of 38-year-old Demetrius Eugene Fleming.

00:05:09.940 In February, police in Cobb County, Georgia found the body of 21-year-old Kyle Basinga in a park.

00:05:14.840 While investigators said there was no indication of foul play, Cobb County Commission Chairwoman Lisa Cupid said Basinga's death caused many to think about the days of slavery and of Jim Crow.

00:05:24.480 The September 2025 death of 21-year-old Black student Trey Reed at Mississippi's Delta State University was ruled a suicide, as was that of 39-year-old DeNorris Richardson in September 2024 in Alabama's Colbert County.

00:05:39.700 More than 4,400 lynchings occurred in the U.S. between Reconstruction and World War II, according to the Alabama-based Equal Justice Initiative.

00:08:38.140 who is a Howard University graduate. His name is Sarah Jones Smith. This is not simply a bad

00:08:44.140 news report. It is malicious. It is deliberately dishonest in every conceivable way. Sarah Jones

00:08:50.440 Smith, by the way, is the engagement editor at the AP, which means that her job is to get as

00:08:55.020 many social media clicks as possible. And that's what she's doing here. And to do it, she omits

00:09:01.180 every relevant detail in the story and strongly implies that Tazia Fortune was lynched. Here's

00:09:09.020 what she said, quote, although Fortune's mother doesn't think her daughter's death was racially

00:09:12.520 motivated for many black people, the imagery of a rope and noose evokes the legacy of lynching

00:09:17.120 and vigilante violence against black people in the U.S.

00:09:22.400 So if you're a viewer who doesn't know anything about this case,

00:09:25.500 then you're led to believe that the mother may be misguided.

00:09:28.660 She merely thinks the death wasn't racially motivated.

00:09:32.220 That's how it's presented.

00:09:33.920 What the AP reporter doesn't show you is the picture of the man who was arrested

00:09:38.340 in the woman's murder.

00:10:08.320 service. So they provide news reports to thousands of news outlets all over the world, precisely

00:10:13.220 because they're supposedly an accurate and reliable source of information. And now they're

00:10:18.380 going on camera and deliberately trying to stoke racial warfare in the most obvious way they

00:10:24.240 possibly could. They've been doing this for years in various contexts, you know, with George Floyd,

00:10:28.800 Michael Brown, and so on. But this has to be one of the worst examples ever recorded.

00:10:34.160 I mean, we're accustomed to all of the, you know, relentless propaganda. So we may not appreciate

00:10:39.400 this for just how evil and despicable it is. So I will just emphasize the point again.

00:10:46.360 They're trying to conjure a lynching epidemic out of whole cloth. I mean, it's unthinkable.

00:10:54.080 The only thing more egregious and irresponsible than this would be if they,

00:10:59.000 you know, let's say invented a totally fake story about churches in Canada committing genocide

00:11:04.400 against native children and burying them in mass graves, which let's say led directly to dozens of

00:11:15.640 things haven't gotten that bad yet. In any case, what the AP report is getting at, of course,

00:11:20.400 is that the facts don't actually matter. It's sufficient for this woman's death to evoke

00:11:25.220 the history of lynching. If something happens that reminds anyone of lynching,

00:11:31.120 then we have to go through the whole racial reckoning again we have to apologize for our

00:11:35.900 whiteness we have to open up our wallets and give these people more money that's the idea

00:11:41.100 as overt as this propaganda is and even after a lot of people called it out this morning the AP

00:11:46.860 doubled down they announced the arrest of another suspect in the case and here's how they reported

00:11:51.980 it quote police in Mississippi have arrested a second man in the death of a black woman found

00:11:58.000 hanging from a tree and have issued an arrest warrant for a third suspect. Once again, they

00:12:04.480 don't mention anything about the identity of this second man. So we'll help the AP out. Here he is.

00:12:13.280 It's yet another black man, which they deliberately omit from their reporting

00:12:17.500 for the second time in a week. And by the way, they can't even hide behind the claim that, well, 0.89

00:13:12.540 still makes no sense. The Tuskegee Institute estimates that more than 1,200 whites were

00:13:18.220 lynched, mostly as a form of frontier justice, historically, you know, way back in the day

00:13:22.640 when the black lynchings were happening also, that's around 30% of all recorded lynching

00:13:28.320 victims in this country, which is obviously a significant amount. So this whole attempt to 0.95

00:13:33.780 make lynching an exclusively anti-black phenomenon is totally wrong historically. And by the way,

00:13:39.980 the Tuskegee Institute stopped tracking lynchings in the 1960s because no one was doing it anymore.

00:13:46.320 The other problem with talking about lynching is that, as unpopular as it may be to say, a certain sizable portion of the people who got lynched, historically, were criminals who deserved it.

00:14:03.160 Yes, many of the victims were targeted for illegitimate reasons, but at the same time, if you committed some heinous crime, particularly in an area of the country where there were no courts, where there was no real system in place for dealing with you, then the options for justice were rather limited.

00:14:22.240 And that goes for white people as well as black people. That's how they handled train robbers and cop killers and horse thieves. They didn't get a trial. Everyone knew they did it, and so they hang them on the spot. 0.65

00:14:33.160 Now, in a historical context where you don't have, in many places, especially on the frontier, where you don't really have a prison system or a court system, is that a defensible practice?

00:14:45.860 Well, reasonable minds can disagree, but what you can't do, if you care at all about historical accuracy, is suggest that lynchings were only ever racist or only ever affected black people, which is what this AP report is doing.

00:14:58.100 But again, all of that doesn't even matter because the fact is that right now, today, lynching is not happening. Period.

00:17:38.780 And, you know, someone might say that the boat fire, in a really narrow sense, reminded them of Pearl Harbor.

00:17:47.200 But that doesn't constitute evidence that the Japanese were responsible for that boat fire at Lake Winnipesaukee.

00:17:54.500 The Japanese may have caused a lot of boat fires during that one particular incident in 1941,

00:17:59.920 but that doesn't make it rational or justified to demand apologies from Japan

00:18:04.520 anytime a boat catches on fire 80 years after the fact.

00:18:22.820 on the Delta State University campus in Cleveland, Mississippi.

00:18:26.220 Days later, the Mississippi State Medical Examiner's Office announced that his death of

00:18:29.920 cause of death was hanging, and the manner of death was suicide. At the time, his family did

00:18:34.540 not believe those results and wanted more answers. They hired civil rights attorney Ben Crump

00:18:38.420 for a private investigation. Crump's legal team arranged for the Colin Kaepernick Know Your Rights

00:18:44.300 Camp Autopsy Initiative to fund Reed's independent autopsy, and Dr. Mathias Okoy of Nebraska completed

00:18:52.240 it before Reed's funeral on September 27, 2025. It appears Crump and his team went silent on Reed's

00:18:57.100 family whom he vowed to provide clarity and closure regarding their loved one's death.

00:22:45.120 saying it. They're saying it. And at the same time, even as she thinks it's totally unremarkable

00:22:59.200 himself, there should be a mandatory waiting period before we can say that he killed himself.

00:28:51.080 writes about her decision to send her daughter to a terrible school in New York. Now, she had the

00:28:56.300 money to send her daughter to a good school, but the good schools rather inevitably don't have a 0.95

00:29:02.720 lot of black students. They were too white, too privileged, so she deliberately sentenced her 0.99

00:29:08.160 child to languish in a dysfunctional institution that was more likely to make her dumber instead 0.99

00:30:01.360 employee. Eight years ago, Jones made it very clear that in her view, being a New York Times

00:30:06.040 employee meant that she could fix anything, everything. Watch. A New York Times reporter

00:30:11.780 in a high poverty school changes the school, right? Like there's certain things that just

00:30:17.980 are not going to happen in that school. I can go to that school and say there's a problem and it

00:30:22.240 gets fixed immediately. Now, this was apparently the attitude that Jones had when she decided to

00:30:27.680 send her child to failing schools. And here's how she begins her op-ed. Quote, when nausea was

00:30:34.380 entering pre-K, my husband Faraji and I decided to send her to the type of school that wealthier 0.98

00:30:40.060 families with choices uniformly avoid, one that is low income and mostly black. Our decision had 1.00

00:30:45.640 been informed by values shaped by my years of reporting on the enduring and too often seemingly

00:30:50.380 hopeless battle for school integration. So for ideological reasons, she sabotages her kid's own 0.57

00:30:57.740 education by her own admission. And of course, when she talks about the seemingly hopeless battle

00:31:03.200 for school integration. She's not clarifying exactly what that battle entailed. We did two

00:31:08.200 episodes of our Real History series on the civil rights movement, and we focused extensively on

00:31:12.460 school integration. It was one of the most sinister periods in American history. White 0.88

00:31:18.240 students were forced to attend dangerous, dysfunctional black schools, where in some 0.99

00:31:22.380 cases they were violently attacked because of their skin color. Some of these white students 0.99

00:31:26.520 were bused across town for this purpose. Meanwhile, of course, black students were sent into mostly 0.71

00:31:32.280 white schools to disastrous results. There's a book, an actually banned book, a really banned

00:31:40.680 book, the kind that's not going to be at Barnes and Noble on the display that says banned books.

00:31:48.480 This book is called Race, War in High School that describes what happened in many of these schools.

00:31:54.280 The book focuses in particular on a firsthand account of the violence that broke out in a high

00:31:59.020 school in Brooklyn after integration, whites, including white teachers, were beaten, set on fire,

00:32:03.600 sexually assaulted, stripped, extorted, and the police didn't do anything about it, calling it a

00:32:09.280 matter of school discipline. Schools nationwide suffered similar problems post-integration. It

00:32:14.580 was a travesty, and virtually everyone, including the government, looked the other way. I mean,

00:32:20.500 the black students literally got away with murder in some cases, and as a result, to this day, 0.99

00:32:24.520 very few people want to send their children to mostly black schools.

00:32:33.980 Let's start with the reality of what white students went through.

00:32:36.800 In her book, Whitewashing the South, Kristen Lavelle spoke with elderly residents of North

00:32:41.680 Carolina about their recollection of what busing was like in their community.

00:32:48.400 Our children had a little bit of a problem in school with the blacks stealing their lunch money.

00:32:52.120 Our son told us he would not go to the bathroom by himself 1.00

00:32:59.860 relayed similar experiences, quote,

00:33:06.400 and sort of block her and intimidate her if they could.

00:33:09.600 Ellie, 70, said her son was the victim of bullying

00:33:12.140 by a dominating African-American boy who targeted whites.

00:33:16.120 I just will never forget this. 0.77

00:33:17.480 There was a big black boy that sat in front of our son,

00:33:19.880 and when he got to school, this black boy 0.89

00:33:21.680 sort of ran supreme in the classroom. 0.98

00:33:24.360 And he would have our son get down and lick his shoes,

00:33:26.800 and he would say, your people have slaved my people, 0.99

00:33:29.100 and now I'm going to slave you.

00:33:31.180 These kinds of incidents actually were common,

00:33:32.740 which is why busing was extremely unpopular at the time.

00:33:35.380 For students who couldn't avoid busing

00:33:36.940 by going to a private school,

00:33:38.460 life became far more dangerous and unpleasant.

00:33:40.560 In 1974, a federal judge forced the working class

00:33:43.640 Irish neighborhood of South Boston

00:33:45.720 to merge with Roxbury, which was mostly black.

00:33:48.560 Chaos ensued in the streets. 0.74

00:33:51.680 All over the country, where forced busing went into effect, there was resistance from both whites and blacks.

00:34:01.980 At Roslindale High School, a white girl was hit in the face by a black kid.

00:34:06.340 The next day at South Boston High School, a 17-year-old was stabbed before his second period class.

00:34:11.220 Those stories came soon after many others.

00:34:13.800 According to the New York Times, quote,

00:34:15.300 a group of about 20 black students attacked a white girl in a bathroom of the Hyde Park School.

00:34:20.480 Another white student attempted to intervene and was thrown into a corridor. 0.72

00:34:23.820 The student who was stabbed, 15-year-old Joseph Crowley, 0.96

00:34:26.540 reportedly either went to that student's aid or was nearby when he was attacked and stabbed by black males.

00:34:32.720 Policemen responded to the situation arrived about 10 a.m. to find some 50 blacks roaming the halls. 0.77

00:34:38.140 They ran, dropping two baseball bats, a wooden club, and a chain.

00:34:41.860 Besides the stabbing victim, another 15-year-old boy was seriously injured when he was struck on the head with a chair,

00:34:47.640 suffering severe head lacerations, cuts, and a mild concussion.

00:34:52.060 In virtually every documentary on busing,

00:34:53.860 the documentaries that children are forced to watch in public schools today,

00:34:56.860 none of this black-on-white racial violence is discussed.

00:35:00.060 Instead, white parents are cast as racists

00:35:02.260 for not wanting the government to take their children,

00:35:04.420 put them on a bus, and drive them an hour away

00:35:06.640 to a school that's much more dangerous and much more dysfunctional

00:35:09.640 than the one they're paying property taxes to attend.

00:35:13.480 So this is the side of integration that you're not really told about. 0.79

00:35:18.640 You never hear about the whites who were terrorized by black criminals while no one in the government would help them. 0.98

00:35:24.720 Anti-white race hustlers like Jones would prefer you never talk about any of this. 0.99

00:35:29.300 They'd prefer to call you racist for sending your child to a mostly white school, 0.99

00:35:33.020 and apparently they'd prefer to send their own children to mostly black schools to really prove you wrong.

00:35:39.400 Except in this case, Jones inadvertently proved the other side right.

00:35:44.480 But not before she unloads a bunch of false statistics to muddy the waters, so let's read on.

00:35:50.240 Quote, in New York, a combination of housing segregation and academic sorting called school choice that begins as early as pre-K means most black students, even middle class ones, are forced to attend racially segregated schools with high rates of poverty.

00:36:02.880 And nationally, schools and predominantly non-white districts receive $23 billion less in annual funding than their heavily white counterparts, according to a 2019 analysis by EdBuild.

00:36:13.060 In everything that we measure, these schools have less, even though the economically struggling student bodies they serve need more. 0.58

00:36:25.220 It's unfortunate when a Nicole Hannah-Jones article is in the news because the writing is just so bland.

00:36:31.840 On top of everything else, I mean, everything she's saying is false and wrong and it's propaganda,

00:36:35.120 But she's also just a really bad, bland, untalented, uninteresting writer who somehow has made an enormously lucrative living doing that.

00:36:48.960 But anyway, this is just simply wrong, again, from a factual perspective.

00:36:52.360 As Mark McGee pointed out, Jones is only counting the state and local revenue that these schools received.

00:36:58.140 when you count federal funds, which you should because they get those funds, the poor schools

00:37:06.800 and the non-white schools receive much more money per pupil than the white schools. This is something 0.97

00:37:13.300 leftists don't want to believe because it's fatal to many of their racial narratives, but it happens 0.99

00:37:17.680 to be true. Along the same lines, as we previously discussed, black people tend to commit many, 1.00

00:37:22.320 many more crimes, even when you control for income. So black people born into wealthy families 1.00

00:37:28.200 at the top 10% of incomes are more likely to go to prison than white people born into poor families 0.88

00:37:35.100 at the bottom 10%. Now, these are statistics that disprove the idea that systemic oppression is

00:37:42.180 the cause of dysfunction in black communities, which means the left simply ignores the statistics.

00:37:48.580 They lie about them, as Jones is doing in this op-ed, so we're told falsely that black students are doing poorly because their schools aren't getting any money and because their teachers are somehow underpaid.

00:37:59.120 But actually, the teachers, including the teachers of this specific school, are making six figures for only nine months of work a year.

00:38:25.500 Daniel Hill Williams Elementary is over 80% Black and Hispanic, 0.97

00:38:29.440 and less than a quarter of the children are proficient in math

00:38:33.380 or reading by the end of their time there.

00:38:36.440 It sits right next to one of the main public housing projects in New York City.

00:38:41.960 Is this school underfunded, you might say?

00:38:45.060 Well, is $52,000 per student per year underfunded to you?

00:38:49.980 Is a teacher's salary average of over $100,000 a year for nine months of work underfunded?

00:38:55.800 And is a teacher-to-student ratio of 9 to 1 too high?

00:38:59.960 Just half a mile away in Dumbo from public school 307 is Community Roots Charter,

00:39:05.560 Another charter school that is in front of a public housing project as well, but instead of only one quarter of the students being proficient in math and reading, over 80% of them are proficient.

00:39:17.740 And the school spends less than half of what PS 307 does, $26,000 rather than $52,000, which is evidence that the problem of American public education is not a funding problem, it's not a staffing problem.

00:39:30.680 It's an incentives problem, something that school choice through competition solves.

00:39:36.940 Okay, so the entire premise of the op-ed is debunked, but now that we've done that, let's continue.

00:39:43.280 Quote, toward the end of first grade, Najia started sometimes saying she didn't like her school and complaining how chaotic it was at lunch.

00:39:51.020 I decided to visit during the lunch period. I was shocked by what I saw.

00:39:54.340 Najia's class and another class were sitting at their tables in the cafeteria with no lunch and no adult supervision.

00:39:59.720 Children were running wild, chasing, hitting, and pushing each other, while the teacher's aides and cafeteria workers stood by looking bored.

00:40:06.560 Several times, I had to instruct children to stop striking each other and to sit down, at one point physically pulling two boys apart.

00:40:13.220 When I asked one of the aides why the children weren't being supervised, she told me the lunch period was short-staffed.

00:40:18.940 After I sat back down with nausea, she told me, it's always like this, and that's why I don't want to go to this school.

00:40:24.600 It was not the children that horrified me, she continues, kids of all incomes are

00:40:31.020 rebunctious at lunchtime. It was the callous disregard of the adults. Students respond to

00:40:35.520 the high or low expectations of institutions and the grown-ups who operate them, and it was clear

00:40:40.400 that these children were getting the message. Well, actually, the behavior of these children

00:40:45.720 should horrify you. If you have kids running around acting like animals, physically attacking

00:40:52.340 each other that should horrify you. It's true that students respond to authority figures and

00:40:58.040 these children probably don't have any of those at school or at home. But it's also true that just

00:41:03.700 like adults, some children are problem children. They're not the kind of people you want your

00:41:10.060 students to be around. You want your kids to be around. No amount of federal funding or one-on-one

00:41:15.740 instruction is going to make them behave normally. That's why if you can avoid it, you should never

00:41:21.160 send your child to a school where the students act like this. It's not going to get magically

00:41:27.360 better. Many of these kids are going to grow up to be carjackers and murderers, and there's no

00:44:54.160 Among other things, this op-ed perfectly demonstrates the perverse, almost almost exactly inverted priorities of leftists like Nicole Hannah-Jones.

00:45:17.380 So your immediate priority is the well-being of your family, your spouse, your children, and then from next from there would be like your parents, your siblings, and then your extended family, and then your neighborhood, and then your broader community, and out from there.

00:46:38.800 after her daughter challenged her about the school, after she realized her daughter's

00:46:42.200 teachers were not actually grading any of her work. And despite all that, she knows

00:46:48.020 she made the right choice, sending her kid there. Now she's supposedly more conflicted

00:46:53.280 about it, and yet the journey has provided a valuable lesson, supposedly. And here's

00:46:57.600 the grand finale. Quote, Nausea then said she was glad she had not spent her early years 0.98

00:47:02.680 in a white environment, as many of the black students at her high school had, because she

00:47:06.840 developed a strong sense of her identity and had the confidence to speak up against the casual

00:47:11.400 racism they sometimes experienced. Najia said that spending the last two years in classrooms

00:47:16.060 full of privileged kids had taught her that these students weren't smarter or even necessarily

00:47:20.460 better behaved than the kids that had gone to school with her before. They just had more.

00:47:26.520 The segregation we were battling in 2026 was supposed to have been banished by the sacrifices

00:47:30.920 of black children nearly seven decades ago when their parents sent them to integrate their local

00:47:35.380 schools to enforce the Supreme Court's 1954 prohibition on school segregation after the

00:47:40.040 government did not. As long as we continue to rescue our own children from the failing schools

00:47:44.680 where we allow other people's children to languish simply because those children have been born black

00:47:49.620 and poor in a nation of racism and riches, there is no absolution here. Not for me, not for you,

00:47:56.000 not for any of us. So again, just hectoring, scolding, lecturing,

00:48:03.540 boring, uninteresting, bland, cliched writing. So the worst of all worlds come together with

00:48:15.080 Nicole Hannah-Jones. So this is an op-ed where she demonstrates pretty clearly that

00:48:19.900 white people are smart to avoid sending their kids to public schools in New York,

00:48:24.580 which are only about 14% white. They're not racist or whatever. They just want to avoid

00:48:30.000 the same dysfunction that Jones saw. But in the end, Jones doesn't appear to realize the upshot

00:48:35.460 of her own op-ed. You know, the thing is, no one is, quote, allowing other people's children to

00:48:41.640 languish simply because those children have been born black and poor in a nation of races and

00:48:45.360 riches. That's not happening. You know, it's true that many black schools and cities are languishing, 0.95

00:48:50.500 but they're languishing in spite of decades of affirmative action, in spite of trillions of 0.59

00:48:58.400 in federal funding in spite of the total transformation of the U.S. economy, such that

00:49:04.700 as Bloomberg reported recently, 94% of jobs added by major U.S. corporations in 2021 went to so-called

00:49:11.040 people of color. Meanwhile, all of Hollywood and all of our media began relentlessly peddling 0.93

00:49:16.480 racial propaganda designed to promote pro-Black narratives at every opportunity. Major companies

00:49:21.440 like Apple and Uber began promoting Black-owned businesses. The government hired millions of Black

00:49:26.320 people to do useless jobs solely to keep them occupied and help them enter the middle class. 1.00

00:49:32.380 We made up rules so that pretty much every major contract job has to enrich a black business in 0.96

00:49:38.340 some way. All of these steps and many, many others were supposed to eventually yield better 0.97
