00:00:28.420 30 years ago, Krista Pike tortured a young girl to death using, at various points in the lengthy process, a knife, a meat cleaver, and a chunk of asphalt. 0.98
00:00:39.120 Last night, finally, after three decades on death row, she was supposed to face the consequences of her crime.
00:00:46.720 There's no reason why it should have taken even that long.
00:00:49.800 Krista Pike could have been, should have been killed long ago.
00:00:53.380 She should be fully decomposed in an unmarked grave outside of the prison by now.
00:00:57.880 Once she was convicted of her crime, a crime she definitely committed and admits to committing,
00:01:04.200 the execution ought to have been carried out within 30 days, if not sooner than that.
00:01:08.340 But our almost comically convoluted system is designed to drag things out as long as possible,
00:01:14.620 giving duly and justly condemned criminals every possible chance to desperately claw their way out of the hole they've dug for themselves.
00:01:24.880 Now, typically, the condemned criminal gets an automatic state-level appeal.
00:01:28.800 That happens right away.
00:01:30.440 If that appeal fails, they appeal to the state again.
00:01:34.360 If that fails, they appeal to the federal courts.
00:01:37.760 And this round of appeals goes through three tiers of courts, the U.S. District Court,
00:01:43.580 the U.S. Court of Appeals, and then the Supreme Court.
00:01:46.400 And if all of that fails, they start filing rapid-fire, machine-gun-style motions and
00:01:53.060 petitions for emergency stays of the executions and clemency. And this whole charade goes on
00:01:59.180 for years and years and years. The average death row inmate in this country gets 18 years
00:02:06.760 to badger every possible court at every possible level to bail them out. Krista Pike got 30 years
00:02:15.560 and she got 30 years even though there was never any doubt about her guilt. Nobody denies that
00:02:23.300 she did what she was convicted of doing. She doesn't deny it. So the appeals process is not
00:02:29.480 giving a potentially innocent person the chance to be saved from an unjust punishment. It's giving
00:02:35.600 a definitely guilty person the chance to be bailed out by some random judge who, for their
00:02:41.560 own ideological or personal reasons, decides to override the result of a valid and constitutional
00:02:47.640 criminal trial. And as we found out last night, sometimes even after all of those appeals are
00:02:54.660 exhausted and every escape hatch is closed off, the condemned murderer might still find a way out.
00:03:02.200 And that appears to be what has happened, at least for now, with Krista Pike. So last night,
00:03:07.540 Her execution, finally, after three decades of stalling, began, but it didn't finish.
00:03:14.260 Around 7.39 p.m. Central Time, some minutes into the execution process, Pike told her
00:03:21.140 spiritual advisor, who was in the execution chamber with her, that, quote, the vein in
00:03:26.360 my arm feels like it's about to burst.
00:03:28.540 She was strapped down on a gurney at the Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville,
00:03:32.680 having received what was supposed to be a lethal dose of pentobarbital, a nervous system depressant
00:03:39.880 that's used in lethal injections. There are more potent chemicals we could use, but they're mostly
00:03:45.020 manufactured in Europe, which won't export the drugs to the United States for use and executions.
00:03:49.700 They've spent 15 years on limiting our supply of execution drugs, including the ones Tennessee
00:03:54.200 is using. Within about two minutes, reporters in the observation room reported that Pike was
00:03:59.140 kicking her feet. At 7.45, she yawned very loudly and began snoring, lifted her head up briefly at
00:04:05.100 7.54. By 8.03, the snoring was loud. Her body flexed at 8.05, and she gasped for air. Shortly
00:04:11.200 afterward, the curtain was drawn, and the reporters were told to leave the observation room without
00:04:15.640 being told whether Pike had been pronounced dead or not. As reporters spoke at a press conference
00:04:21.120 outside the prison, ambulances arrived, apparently to see if they could save her life, even though
00:04:27.720 the whole point of an execution, last I checked, is to kill the person. This is one of the most
00:04:34.120 bizarre and inexplicable scenes you will ever see. And one of the things that makes it so bizarre is
00:04:40.720 that all of these people are supposedly nonpartisan, unbiased reporters. And all of them are clearly
00:04:48.280 activists who oppose the death penalty, and they don't even hide it. Watch.
00:04:52.740 it appeared that this did not go like they thought it was supposed to go but we don't know
00:04:59.040 that when we left the building so far as we knew she was probably still alive you just saw the
00:05:04.920 emergency vehicles pull up we don't know her status and i think it's fair to say and these
00:05:10.900 guys will tell you more we have a lot of questions and the department of correction has a lot of
00:05:15.640 answers that it needs to provide to the public about what happened here why was it that by the
00:05:22.040 time. The blinds went down for the second time at 8.05. She was still
00:05:26.280 breathing and her breathing at points was very rhythmic. Now at times it
00:05:30.280 appeared labored. She was snoring at times but she was still breathing. We
00:05:35.760 had to listen to all that from 8.05 until we left the building with the
00:05:40.520 blinds down. We could not see what was happening. We heard activity but we
00:05:45.020 don't know what happened. We're not sure that's appropriate and that's a
00:05:48.640 question that we'd like answer. I will say I've witnessed, I believe, five
00:05:52.300 executions in Tennessee. Nothing about today was normal, typical at all and the
00:05:58.840 court delay was just the tip of the iceberg. The mic was on and she was at
00:06:02.740 that point, so when the curtains were open, she was kind of inconsistently
00:06:06.280 going in and out of snores and silence. When the curtains closed the final time
00:06:10.480 at 8.05, we could consistently hear her snoring and then it kind of developed
00:06:14.720 into a snore squeak and then a snore. And even at 8 53 when the microphone was cut off,
00:06:20.120 we could still hear snoring. I saw a tear rolled down her right eye. And then she said one spot
00:06:26.760 is really throbbing. And then she and her spiritual advisor started to talk. This is
00:06:32.520 still within 734 to 737. They say tell I couldn't hear the name, but Pike says tell blank. I love
00:06:40.640 him. Her spiritual advisor agrees or shakes his head at least. At 737, I recognize that she
00:06:47.860 started to talk less, but she took four separate significant breaths, large enough to where you
00:06:54.980 could see. I do want to note that almost the entire time she was kicking her feet so often
00:07:04.900 that she was actually knocking the sheet that laid over her off. And one of the TDoc employees
00:07:10.400 had to come and put that back on her. Her lip quivered at one point. It sounded like she was
00:07:16.220 almost choking. At 7.51, her snoring started again. I want to note, while all of this is
00:07:24.360 happening, we were hearing an alarm go off. We later determined it to most likely be
00:07:30.240 the battery warning of TDOC employees' communication devices inside the prison.
00:07:40.400 the batteries were dying because they had been running for so long.
00:07:43.400 And as we were waiting, their batteries and their microphones were dying.
00:07:49.840 Well, where's a Canadian doctor when you need one?
00:07:52.520 I mean, they take care of this problem very quickly.
00:07:54.900 They're extremely efficient killers.
00:07:56.620 All we have to do is tell them that Krista Pike is depressed or, you know, 0.94
00:07:59.500 maybe has diabetes and, you know, they'd have her in a body bag in about five minutes.
00:08:03.740 Actually, maybe they'd have some difficulty too. 1.00
00:08:05.640 Canadian maid doctors use a drug called propofol when they're killing old people 1.00
00:08:09.920 to harvest their organs. And, you know, we can't use propofol because Europe won't ship the drug 1.00
00:08:14.100 to us. Think of how bizarre that is. Because Europeans are so allegedly civilized, they're
00:08:19.820 leaving us with no choice if we insist on doing lethal injections and carrying out executions 1.00
00:08:26.600 that way as opposed to other ways. There's no choice except to use a drug that maximizes the
00:08:32.320 likelihood of a prolonged, agonizing death. I mean, you can argue that there's a poetic justice
00:08:38.100 in a certain way since Pike tortured her victim and now something similar happened to her. But
00:08:44.100 this whole situation is certainly preventable. There's no arguing that. Part of the problem here
00:08:49.960 is that when we use the weak drugs that we do have, there's apparently no protocol for what to do
00:08:55.700 when the criminal remains alive after two doses. This is a medical reporter here who witnessed the
00:09:01.220 botched execution. And we'll listen to what she has to say, but the obvious caveat is that as with
00:09:06.020 all of those other reporters, you know, she's probably ideologically opposed to the death
00:09:10.940 penalty. So keep that in mind. Watch. Hi, Catherine Sweeney, WPLN. I came up here earlier
00:09:18.240 and I wasn't super sure about the dose of pentobarbital. So I pulled up the protocol.
00:09:23.200 So what they do is they have a set of four syringes. One is saline. And then there's two
00:09:28.900 syringes of 50 milliliters of pentobarbital. So what happens is the IV team determines the IV
00:09:35.460 sites. IV team members insert the catheter. They establish access. Then the special operations
00:09:43.200 team leader ensures that the catheters are properly secured. Yeah, they establish access.
00:09:49.740 The physician can insert a central line if they need to. And then they just, they push it and they
00:09:57.800 can do a whole second batch if they need to. Again, that's extremely rare. This is an enormous
00:10:03.820 dose of a sedative. That should not ever need to happen twice, but it did. And then she
00:10:10.760 stayed alive. I think one of the issues we have here is the protocol doesn't talk about what
00:10:17.940 happens if you do this twice and they're still alive. I don't think that that is something that
00:10:21.940 was planned for. So there was no rules about when to open the curtain after a second time.
00:10:27.900 This is pretty unprecedented. None of it should have happened and it wasn't planned for. It made
00:10:33.340 it really hard for the prison system to navigate and it made it hard for us to understand what was
00:10:37.420 going on of course we got out here and then you all saw the ambulance going away with sirens so
00:10:44.000 we can presume that there was somebody alive in that but we don't know we're not being told so
00:10:48.560 that's all I wanted to add
00:10:50.320 you know there's kind of a morbid irony since when Pike was explaining why it took so long
00:10:57.720 for her to murder the innocent girl she killed she stated and I quote the wouldn't die
00:11:03.020 now it's pike who refuses to die as things currently stand pike is apparently still 0.99
00:11:09.800 not dead she's in the hospital receiving medical treatment the whole thing has become a kind of 1.00
00:11:14.300 morbid farce you know the state tried to kill her now they're nursing her back to life we have no
00:11:22.420 idea if she's in a vegetative state or not of course her defense team is already arguing that
00:11:26.660 this whole situation is cruel and unusual as a way of suspending her death sentence the governor
00:11:32.740 Bill Lee has just suspended executions in the whole state for the rest of the year,
00:11:36.420 saying there needs to be a, quote, comprehensive third-party review to determine exactly what
00:11:40.860 occurred. But of course, you don't need a comprehensive investigation to execute this
00:11:45.620 woman. Other than a shovel, all you need is a gun and a few bullets. There's no reason why 0.97
00:11:52.820 any execution ever needs to be botched. There shouldn't be and doesn't need to be any such
00:11:58.460 thing as an execution that doesn't work. You're not solving a math equation. It's not a riddle.
00:12:05.120 There are several quick, easy, simple, 100% effective methods, methods that cannot fail
00:12:11.180 unless the condemned criminal is Superman. But as of right now, only five states have
00:12:16.400 the firing squad, Idaho, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Utah. Idaho actually
00:12:20.460 made the firing squad their primary execution method earlier this summer
00:12:24.020 after a botched lethal injection back in 2024,
00:12:27.540 that would solve the problem overnight.
00:12:30.340 Firing squads are, again, 100% effective.
00:12:33.820 Or in the alternative, a short rope and a slightly longer trip off of a raised platform
00:12:38.640 could do the trick.
00:12:40.360 A reliable, tried-and-true method that doesn't rely on complicated cocktails
00:12:44.640 and chemistry experiments.
00:12:47.380 Now, in this case, remarkably enough, Pike actually requested death by hanging. 1.00
00:12:51.760 In fact, she wanted an all-female execution squad to hang her.
00:12:55.460 This is from the New York Post, quote,
00:12:58.440 In the event that she is not spared from execution, Pike has made a special request. 1.00
00:13:02.220 She wants an all-female execution squad to carry out the procedure in front of witnesses, including the family of her victim.
00:13:08.720 The reason, her lawyer says, is that she has post-traumatic stress disorder from the widely documented abuse she suffered at the hands of men as a young girl, including when she was just two years old.
00:13:17.960 They also say her death by lethal injection will be prolonged and agonizing because she has a rare blood disorder that could make finding a vein difficult and affect the way she reacts to the drug.
00:13:27.300 So afraid, as Pike, of the execution being carried out by lethal injection that she took the state to court in August to ask that she be hanged instead.
00:13:35.560 The judge rejected her motion to be hanged since the state of Tennessee claimed they lacked the equipment to hang her.
00:13:40.360 again this is a farce um not a very funny one but it is a farce the state intentionally makes
00:13:51.280 it more complicated than it needs to be i mean how can you lack the equipment to hang someone
00:13:55.560 i'm sorry to be crude about it but you know i could run to home depot and be back with all
00:14:00.840 the necessary equipment in 45 minutes i won't even make you reimburse me for the cost think of it as
00:14:07.960 a donation. But again, the process is made deliberately convoluted. And it's made convoluted
00:14:16.400 for a reason. The reason we do the lethal injection in the first place, the only reason
00:14:20.960 we do it that way is to sanitize. It's for the benefit of outside observers that we sanitize it
00:14:28.760 to try to make it seem like something other than what it is. There's no reason to do that. An
00:14:34.960 execution is you're killing someone. And that is justice in this person's case and the case of
00:14:42.660 anybody on death row. There's no reason to hide from it. It is simply a method of hiding from
00:14:48.800 what you're doing because a lethal injection is not a more efficient way of doing it. It's
00:14:54.320 certainly not a cheaper way of doing it. And it's not even necessarily a more painless way of doing
00:14:59.020 it. As we've seen, it's a way that has all kinds of ways. There's all kinds of ways that that
00:15:05.320 method can fail, whereas these other methods don't. Death by hanging over in seconds, very
00:15:13.760 quick, very easy. But again, when you do that, there's no hiding from it. It's very clear that
00:15:20.980 we are killing someone here. You can't dress it up and try to medicalize it. See, this is what we
00:15:27.320 want to do in modern society. We try to medicalize everything. You sanitize and medicalize
00:15:32.020 everything, especially death, especially when someone is being killed. And in this case,
00:15:40.840 you'd be forgiven for being a bit conspiratorial about all this. The Krista Pike case attracted
00:15:46.800 national attention. She had become the latest cause celebra on the left and among feminists. 0.84
00:15:52.200 a great deal was made of the fact that she's a female prisoner facing execution, as though 0.52
00:15:57.820 it's somehow inherently problematic to execute a female murderer as opposed to a male murderer.
00:16:04.000 And in the midst of all this hysteria, Krista Pike winds up somehow surviving multiple doses
00:16:09.440 of lethal injection and is now apparently recovering in a hospital. You might wonder
00:16:13.660 whether it was botched on purpose. That's not an unreasonable possibility to consider.
00:16:19.300 botched executions do happen. In fact, in fairness, the planning for this execution
00:16:23.300 involved the same doctor, a guy named Mark Fowler, who participated in a failed injection
00:16:27.920 earlier this year. Under Fowler's guidance, the execution team couldn't establish IV access to
00:16:34.120 the veins of a murderer named Tony Carruthers taking over an hour. And now it's happened again,
00:16:39.860 potentially with Fowler overseeing this team, maybe an all-female team. She requested that,
00:16:46.320 as we said, the state said they'd consider it. I don't think we'd been told whether they actually
00:16:51.440 did use an all-female teen. Now, lethal injection fails about 7% of the time, 1.00
00:16:57.640 but the odds of it going wrong twice are less than one half of 1%. Now, it's possible they
00:17:04.600 missed a vein or something once again, but to my knowledge, Krista Pike is now the first person
00:17:10.260 in recorded history to survive an execution after both doses of the lethal injection were
00:17:16.740 fully administered. She survived plan A and plan B. And as you heard, they didn't even
00:17:23.280 have a protocol in place for what to do after that because nobody has ever made it past
00:17:27.340 plan B. So what are the chances that something this unprecedented just happened to occur
00:17:33.520 during one of the most high profile executions of the century and the first female to be
00:17:39.120 executed in Tennessee in 200 years just so happens to be the one to survive the execution in a manner
00:17:44.220 that so far can't even be explained. I mean, you're not crazy if you're suspicious. That's
00:17:49.700 all I'm saying. In fact, consider me suspicious. Female jurors just sabotaged a jury to keep
00:17:56.740 Lindsay Clancy out of jail. Did somebody sabotage a lethal injection to keep a female murderer out 1.00
00:18:00.860 of a coffin? It's a viable possibility. I'm not saying that did happen, but it's a possibility. 1.00
00:18:09.120 until evidence conclusively proves otherwise.
00:18:12.520 Apparently, everything wasn't quite expensive enough yet.
00:18:17.140 Marketplace health insurance costs are expected to go up by as much as 15% next year,
00:18:22.440 which is excellent news if you were concerned that you might accidentally have some money left over in 2026.
00:18:27.180 Well, don't worry about that.
00:18:29.060 For everyone else, there's an alternative worth knowing about.
00:18:31.620 Christian Healthcare Ministries, or CHM, is a faith-based health cost-sharing ministry
00:18:36.840 where Christians come together to share the burden of eligible medical bills.
00:18:40.740 Programs start as low as $115 per person per month
00:18:44.380 with added security available for catastrophic medical events.
00:18:48.280 And here's the especially relevant part right now.
00:18:50.500 CHM isn't raising its prices in 2027 like the other guys.
00:18:54.680 So while seemingly everything else becomes more expensive
00:18:57.660 simply because another year has passed,
00:18:59.760 CHM is offering Christians affordable assurance
00:19:02.400 that stays affordable in the new year.
00:19:05.880 If you're looking at what health care is going to cost your family next year, this is worth considering.
00:19:11.720 Get started today at chministries.org slash Walsh.
00:19:14.600 That's chministries.org slash Walsh.
00:19:18.000 Well, listen up.
00:19:18.960 There are enough people listening to this show right now that if they don't vote, it could swing key states in the 2026 election to the Democrats.
00:19:26.460 And everyone listening knows every single ultra far left Democratic Socialist will be showing up to vote this fall.
00:19:33.080 Democrats are fired up and we can't let them win because if we lose, they'll undo everything our movement has fought for.
00:19:39.980 I need you to vote early so that you can bank your vote, fight back against the left's turnout machine.
00:19:45.440 Go to gopvotes.org right now and find out when you can vote.
00:19:49.840 Making your voice heard is easier than ever.
00:19:51.660 You can get election reminders, look up your polling locations and pick a date to vote early.
00:19:56.360 Go to gopvotes.org today, paid for by SLF PAC, not authorized by any candidate or candidates committee.
00:20:05.800 Take a look at the crowds of women who have been gathering outside the prison in recent days to show support for Pike.
00:20:12.600 Pike, who is a Satan worshiper, who, as I mentioned, and we'll discuss in more detail in a moment, brutally tortured and carved up an innocent woman, innocent girl.
00:20:22.980 So it's very similar to what we saw during the Lindsay Clancy trial. Watch. 0.95
00:20:26.360 This is much more highly attended. I have to think maybe what's different is that it's a female and that we haven't executed a female in Tennessee in 200 years. So perhaps that's what has drawn more attention to this one. 0.92
00:20:42.380 You know, remember when the excuse for this kind of behavior was postpartum depression? Feminists said they were defending Lindsay Clancy because she suffered from a mental illness that only affects women and which causes a random voice to appear in their heads, issuing orders that for some unknown reason they cannot possibly. 1.00
00:20:56.360 possibly refuse. Postpartum oppression doesn't affect a woman's ability to carefully plan a 1.00
00:21:02.020 brutal homicide, but it does mean that they can't be held responsible for their actions. That was 0.99
00:21:06.180 a claim. And now, less than a month later, we have the same kinds of crowds gathering to defend a
00:21:11.740 female murderer again. But this time, there's no postpartum psychosis to fall back on. So what's
00:21:17.480 the excuse? Why should we have any sympathy for this person at all? Well, the leftist rallying
00:21:26.000 her defense can't think of any reason other than the fact that she's a woman. That's it. That's 1.00
00:21:30.200 all they've got. Countless headlines have been published highlighting this fact that she's a 0.98
00:21:35.420 woman. Every article mentions it as though it's significant on its own. Krista Pike isn't just a
00:21:43.060 murderer set to be executed. She's a woman set to be executed. And this in and of itself, as you 1.00
00:21:48.840 just heard from that activist, is supposed to make the execution somehow more brutal or more tragic
00:21:54.900 or fundamentally worse in some way.
00:21:58.600 This is the argument, though it can't be explained or defended by the people making it. 1.00
00:22:03.260 I guarantee that woman can't. 1.00
00:22:05.280 If you were to ask her, okay, what makes it worse because it's a woman? 1.00
00:22:07.720 What exactly?
00:22:09.720 Because if men and women are exactly equal, as any of these activists would claim,
00:22:16.000 then there's nothing notable at all about executing a woman as opposed to a man.
00:22:20.280 and that should especially be the case here given the details of the case and the more you dig into
00:22:26.400 it the more disturbing it is so let's start with the factual background i gave you the one sentence 0.99
00:22:31.380 summary of this woman's crimes but you need the full story to truly appreciate what a depraved 1.00
00:22:36.820 wicked monster this woman is so when she was 18 years old krista pike was a student at the job 0.97
00:22:43.640 core center in knoxville which was basically a government-funded vocational school that was 0.96
00:22:47.200 supposed to help troubled kids get a job, although, as you can imagine, like all government programs,
00:22:51.600 the job center was poorly managed and quickly became a blight on the community with constant
00:22:55.860 criminal activity. Out of the blue, on January 11th of 1995, Pike told a friend that she intended
00:23:01.360 to murder another student named Colleen Slemmer, simply because, and I quote, she had just felt
00:23:07.460 mean that day. The next day on January 12th, around 8 p.m., Pike, along with her boyfriend,
00:23:12.700 was spotted walking away from the job center, along with Slemmer and another student,
00:23:16.600 And a little over two hours later, a witness saw the group return to the job center without Slemmer.
00:23:23.020 Now, it didn't take long for Pike to implicate herself in Slemmer's disappearance.
00:23:26.380 That night, Pike went to a friend's room and confessed to killing Slemmer,
00:23:30.440 adding that she had brought back a piece of the victim's skull as a souvenir.
00:23:35.260 That's a quote from the Supreme Court of Tennessee from their review of the case.
00:23:39.580 Pike then showed her friend a piece of skull and explained that she had cut the victim's throat six times,
00:23:44.300 beaten her and thrown asphalt at the victim's head. Pike went on to state that the victim had
00:23:49.140 begged her attackers to stop, but they kept throwing asphalt at her. And at one point,
00:23:54.600 Pike confessed that a meat cleaver had been used to cut the victim's back and a box cutter had been
00:23:59.260 used to cut her throat. Finally, Pike said a pentagram had been carved onto the victim's
00:24:03.820 forehead and chest. Quote, Pike was dancing in a circle, smiling and singing la la la while she
00:24:10.940 related these details about the murder. When her friend saw Pike at breakfast the next morning,
00:24:16.180 she asked Pike what she had done with the piece of the victim's skull. Pike replied that it was
00:24:20.420 in her pocket and then said, and yes, I'm eating breakfast with it. During a class later that
00:24:26.180 morning, Pike made a similar statement to another job course student. Pike pointed to brown spots
00:24:30.780 on her shoes and said, that ain't mud on my shoes, that's blood. Pike then pulled a napkin from her 0.99
00:24:36.040 pocket and showed another student a piece of bone, which Pike said was a piece of slumber's skull.
00:24:40.340 Pike also told the student that she had slashed Slemmer's throat six times and had beaten her in the head with a rock.
00:24:48.680 Pike told the student the victim's blood and brains had been pouring out, that she had picked up the piece of skull when she left the scene.
00:24:57.780 Now, you might think, hearing this, that someone would have alerted the authorities.
00:25:01.540 Two students independently heard Pike confessing to the brutal murder of another student, who's now missing, and none of these people called 911, apparently.
00:25:07.740 Instead, Slemmer's body remained undiscovered until a member of the University of Tennessee
00:25:11.620 grounds department stumbled on the corpse the next morning.
00:25:14.600 The body was so badly mangled that at first the custodian thought he was looking at a
00:25:18.780 dead animal.
00:25:20.080 And then he saw the clothing and he realized what had happened.
00:25:23.940 When investigators questioned Pike, she confessed to the murder at length.
00:25:28.480 She claimed that Slemmer had been, quote, trying to get her boyfriend and had been running
00:25:33.980 her mouth everywhere.
00:25:34.920 She told the investigator that she had invited Slemmer to walk together to a blockbuster store, then told her about a hidden stash of marijuana.
00:25:43.140 And then Pike and her boyfriend, Taterall, ship ambushed Slemmer when they arrived at a steam plant on the UT campus, hitting her repeatedly as she screamed, why are you doing this to me?
00:25:56.380 The attack lasted between 30 minutes to an hour, during which the two attackers 0.50
00:25:59.840 forced Slemmer to remove her clothing, including her underwear, and also tied a
00:26:03.700 rag around her mouth to prevent her from talking. They slit her throat several times
00:26:08.040 and stabbed her so many times that the medical examiner couldn't even identify
00:26:11.780 all of the wounds to her body. They could only identify Slemmer through dental records.
00:26:16.900 So this was a protracted, gruesome, savage murder. And there was evidence,
00:26:25.060 according to a medical examiner, that Slummer was alive when most of this was done to her.
00:26:31.660 Two days later at the police station, both Pike and her boyfriend were photographed wearing
00:26:35.080 pentagram necklaces. They both claimed to be devil worshipers, and I think we should take
00:26:41.700 them at their word on that. At trial of defense witness, a clinical psychologist testified that
00:26:46.200 Pike was extremely bright with an IQ around 77th percentile, which not to be pedantic,
00:26:51.260 like a slightly above average intelligence,
00:26:53.360 hardly qualifying is extremely bright. 0.99
00:26:55.200 But the point is that she was not mentally retarded 0.94
00:26:57.380 or brain damaged or insane. 0.94
00:27:00.140 The psychologist added that Pike 0.70
00:27:01.800 had severe borderline personality disorder
00:27:04.060 and signs of marijuana dependence,
00:27:06.900 along with impulse control issues,
00:27:08.560 but that's about it.
00:27:10.500 And after the jury returned a guilty verdict,
00:27:12.500 the defense called Pike's aunt, 0.92
00:27:13.960 who described her as a pathological liar.
00:27:17.160 There was a sob story too.
00:27:18.480 The jury was told that, quote,
00:27:19.920 Pike's mother's home was very dirty and, quote, Pike's mother set no rules for her.
00:27:26.420 Oh, I guess Pike's mother never set the rule saying, hey, don't brutally torture and kill
00:27:31.980 anybody. And since she was never told about that rule, she didn't know she was not supposed to do
00:27:36.880 that. Oh, and Pike's father said he kicked her out of the house twice following an allegation
00:27:42.560 that she had sexually assaulted his young daughter, which is obviously pretty good reason
00:27:47.200 to kick her out of the house. All this to say, Krista Pike clearly deserved the death sentence 1.00
00:27:54.300 that she received. It would be hard to point to any criminal in modern history that deserved it
00:28:03.140 more than her, although there are plenty who have deserved it as much as her. Specifically,
00:28:09.240 in 1996, the jury sentenced Pike to death by electrocution due to the aggravating circumstances,
00:28:16.440 including the fact that she tortured her victim.
00:28:18.980 And Krista Pike herself, in her own words, accepted this punishment at the time.
00:28:24.280 Watch.
00:28:25.320 I killed someone.
00:28:27.940 I sat in this very courtroom with a jury that found me guilty and sentenced me to death.
00:28:36.600 So if that many people decided that that is what I deserve
00:28:43.040 and that that's what my punishment should be,
00:28:45.520 then i'm ready for that
00:28:48.180 this is perhaps the most straightforward death penalty case imaginable 0.97
00:28:55.000 you know if this satanist doesn't deserve the death penalty then nobody does
00:29:00.060 and that's why although pike appealed her conviction and sentence multiple times 0.53
00:29:04.420 the courts rejected every single one of her appeals and rejecting the appeals would have
00:29:09.240 been even easier, considering that even being sent to prison did not stop Krista Pike's murderous 0.94
00:29:16.180 reign of terror. Years after she was consigned to death row, she was charged with attempting 1.00
00:29:20.800 to strangle a fellow inmate to death. And years after that, she was convicted of trying to
00:29:26.180 orchestrate an escape from prison. So suffice it to say, this woman is not repentant. She is a
00:29:33.400 cold-blooded, unrepentant killer. But on Wednesday morning, with less than an hour to go until her 0.80
00:29:41.120 execution, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in a two-to-one ruling issued a stay of execution.
00:29:46.880 And this stay was quickly overturned by the Supreme Court with, of course, all the DEI
00:29:51.000 liberal judges dissenting. But we still need to address the question, how could the judges have
00:29:55.380 issued this stay in the first place? Why? What she did was brutal and heinous. She's unrepentant.
00:30:03.400 Even if she was repentant, I mean, still, she should be executed. 0.99
00:30:05.860 But by the way, she's unrepentant. 0.99
00:30:08.900 And she'd already been through a million appeals.
00:30:12.760 Why would you come in at the last minute and say, hang on?
00:30:16.900 Well, let's start by taking a look at the two judges who ruled in favor of a stay of execution.
00:30:20.740 Here's Judge Karen Nelson Moore. 1.00
00:30:23.680 She's a Clinton-appointed leftist who went to Harvard. 1.00
00:30:27.260 Exactly what you'd expect.
00:30:28.260 And here's Judge Jane Stranch.
00:30:30.580 she's a vanderbilt grad who was appointed by obama again exactly what you'd expect
00:30:36.240 and here's the lone dissenting judge who ruled in favor of execution
00:30:40.260 uh this is judge richard griffin he's a bush appointee and perhaps more notably he's a man 0.73
00:30:46.560 meanwhile the female judges apparently have sympathy for the female murderer this is what
00:30:52.460 our justice system has become it's more of a you know it's it's more of the demographic tribalism 0.94
00:30:57.900 that has infected our courts for years,
00:30:59.820 which we've documented on the show at great length. 1.00
00:31:03.080 If you're a woman, then chances are high 1.00
00:31:05.280 that female judges and female jurors, 1.00
00:31:08.020 Sir Saltz and Sir Clancy, 0.99
00:31:09.540 are going to be predisposed to be on your side.
00:31:13.300 They're going to try to invent some absurd pretext
00:31:15.940 to bail you out. 0.70
00:31:17.280 The same principle applies when it comes to ethnicity
00:31:19.420 and race and political affiliation.
00:31:22.120 As we know, Democrat judges help Democrat defendants. 0.83
00:31:25.200 Black judges help Black defendants. 0.91
00:31:26.800 Indian judges help Indian defendants. 0.92
00:31:28.620 Mexican judges help Mexican defendants.
00:31:30.480 Chinese judges help Chinese defendants.
00:31:32.780 As we saw in San Francisco recently, 0.98
00:31:34.560 when a judge let the old woman get away 1.00
00:31:36.880 with killing an entire family. 0.97
00:31:38.520 But things get even worse in this case. 1.00
00:31:41.220 I mean, look at the reasoning these female judges used, 1.00
00:31:43.760 if you can even call it that. 1.00
00:31:45.440 After 30 years of appeals,
00:31:46.900 they're claiming that the following statement,
00:31:49.360 which was made by prosecutors in court
00:31:51.080 during a recent hearing,
00:31:52.900 is grounds for a stay of execution.
00:31:54.700 Here's the statement from the prosecutor.
00:31:57.320 It says, quote,
00:31:58.340 Now as for issue two, which deals with Ms. Pike's cited history of sexual assault and PTSD,
00:32:03.500 the state does not dispute the terrible things that Ms. Pike suffered.
00:32:06.380 I think everybody in this courtroom wishes that those things had never happened to Ms. Pike.
00:32:10.120 I think we all wish that we were not here today and that she was not on death row.
00:32:14.000 Certainly none of us take any pleasure in this,
00:32:15.860 and so it's certainly not the state's intention to try to minimize the suffering that Ms. Pike has experienced.
00:32:20.140 But that's not the issue before the court.
00:32:24.500 That's it.
00:32:26.800 That's all there is. Because prosecutors stated that they take Pike at her word when she talks
00:32:31.420 about these horrible things that supposedly happened to her. The female judges decided 1.00
00:32:36.540 that the execution needs to be called off. This is something they'd almost certainly not do if 1.00
00:32:42.820 Pike were a man. You don't see this kind of logic often applied to male defendants, at least not
00:32:47.400 white males. But because she's a woman, they're deeply concerned about her PTSD. And a lot of
00:32:53.700 the activists and leftists
00:32:56.420 who have rallied to her cause
00:32:57.820 have brought this up.
00:33:00.680 That she was horribly victimized
00:33:02.440 when she was younger.
00:33:03.480 Which again, first of all,
00:33:05.400 how do we know that even happened?
00:33:06.640 We're just taking her word for it.
00:33:08.900 She's by her own family's description 1.00
00:33:10.900 a pathological liar, 1.00
00:33:12.280 also a satanic murderer. 1.00
00:33:15.180 So literally nothing she says 0.96
00:33:16.880 means anything.
00:33:19.220 But if it did happen,
00:33:20.700 it doesn't excuse what she did.
00:33:23.700 As I've said many times, you can have a sob story, you can talk about the terrible things that were done to you, and if you're a law-abiding person, then that will engender you some sympathy, as it should.
00:33:39.860 But the moment that you go out and brutally victimize someone else, your sob story does not matter.
00:33:45.660 okay you can't sit there and complain about people who victimize you because now you are
00:33:52.040 a victimizer now you are a predator yourself you're just as bad as the bad person who did
00:33:57.960 whatever they did to you you've joined them so now we condemn them for what they did to you
00:34:04.720 but we also condemn you because you're just like them in particular they're upset about the fact 0.98
00:34:11.380 that previously you know the prosecutors had suggested that pike was probably fabricating
00:34:15.080 the details of her sob story, but many years later in a hearing, a prosecutor apparently gave
00:34:19.200 her the benefit of the doubt because as he correctly pointed out, again, it doesn't matter
00:34:22.880 whether it's true or not. It shouldn't affect her sentence in any way. Once you start carving
00:34:27.240 pentagrams into people's chests and giggling with delight at the thought of butchering an innocent
00:34:31.920 woman and showing off pieces of their skull as a personal souvenir, your personal problems are
00:34:40.080 irrelevant. I'm not going to sit here and defend all of higher education. A lot of it deserves 1.00
00:34:45.000 criticism, and that's why it gets a lot of criticism from me all the time. But Grand Canyon
00:34:49.780 University is not the version people are talking about when they say that, when they offer those
00:34:55.820 criticisms. GCU offers more than 100 online undergraduate degrees, giving students a flexible
00:35:01.100 way to begin college or return and finish what they started. And these aren't empty promises
00:35:07.040 about accessibility. In addition to federal grants and aid, GCU's online students received nearly
00:35:13.500 $200 million in institutional scholarships in just 2025 alone. What I respect about GCU is that
00:35:20.280 it combines career preparation with a welcoming Christian worldview and the free market system
00:35:25.980 and free and open discourse altogether. It's a school that is not embarrassed to prepare students
00:35:30.520 with practical skills while teaching them to think for themselves. They say higher education is
00:35:35.960 outdated, irrelevant, but at Grand Canyon University, they don't settle for that. They
00:35:40.280 don't settle for the status quo. They shatter it. GCU's accredited MBA program is 100% online
00:35:46.000 and is designed to shape leaders through servant leadership. College is not dead. It simply has
00:35:52.800 to provide something worth pursuing. GCU can help you take your passion and scale your business to
00:35:58.560 serve your community. This is purpose-driven education. Take action. Find your purpose.

00:36:07.360 you. You know what's wild? Most people are still overpaying for car insurance just because it's a
00:36:13.640 pain to switch. That's why there's Jerry. Jerry is the only app that compares rates for over 50
00:36:19.580 insurers in minutes, and it helps you switch fast with no spam calls or hidden fees. Drivers who
00:36:25.520 save with Jerry could save over $1,300 a year. Before you renew your car insurance policy,
00:36:31.040 do yourself a favor. Download the Jerry app or head to jerry.ai slash wire.
00:36:37.360 The only reason these judges issued this ruling is that they're leftists.
00:36:40.820 And for many years now, leftist judges have been on a campaign to eliminate the death penalty.
00:36:44.760 Stephen Breyer, the former Supreme Court justice, was one of the pioneers of this strategy.
00:36:50.100 This is from his opinion in the case of Knight v. Florida from 1999.
00:36:54.500 Quote, a growing number of courts outside the United States, courts that accept or assume the lawfulness of the death penalty,
00:37:00.880 have held that lengthy delay in administering a lawful death penalty renders ultimate execution
00:37:05.280 inhuman, degrading, or unusually cruel. In Pratt v. Attorney General of Jamaica, for example,
00:37:11.500 the Privy Council considered whether Jamaica lawfully could execute two prisoners
00:37:15.200 held for 14 years after sentencing. Which, by the way, even if we accept that reasoning,
00:37:25.540 okay, that's just an argument for, like I said, execute them in 30 days, get rid of all the 0.90
00:37:31.520 ridiculous appeals and let's get it done in 30 days. I'm on board for that. It sounds like we 0.97
00:37:38.700 all kind of agree that dragging this out for 30 years is ridiculous. It sounds like people on both
00:37:47.720 sides can agree on that. All right, so let's make it a lot quicker. And to translate what Breyer
00:37:56.020 said, he's citing courts in Jamaica for their rulings on the death penalty. He's giving
00:38:01.180 Jamaican courts, as well as courts in Zimbabwe and the European Court of Human Rights and the
00:38:06.720 United Nations, influence over the death penalty in the United States. And specifically, he's saying
00:38:11.140 that if the death penalty takes a long time to administer, then it's unconstitutional based on
00:38:15.140 what Jamaican courts are doing. So if you're following this, liberals want to string out
00:38:20.400 death penalty cases as long as possible by guaranteeing as many appeals as they can.
00:38:25.680 And then when those appeals inevitably take a long time, they say you can't execute the criminal
00:38:29.780 because he's had to wait too long and it's cruel to leave someone on death row for so long.
00:38:35.420 So they intentionally make the process long and then use the fact that the process was long
00:38:41.140 as a reason to abolish the death penalty.
00:38:44.720 It's circular reasoning, and he's citing Jamaican law,
00:38:47.260 not the Constitution of the United States, to justify it.
00:38:49.620 As Clarence Thomas put it in response to Breyer's opinion,
00:38:52.780 quote, I am unaware of any support in the American constitutional tradition
00:38:56.080 or in this court's precedent for the proposition that a defendant
00:38:58.600 can avail himself of appellate procedures
00:39:00.540 and then complain when his execution is delayed.
00:39:03.460 Indeed, were there any such support in our jurisprudence,
00:39:06.800 it would be unnecessary for proponents of the claim
00:39:09.080 to rely on the European Court of Human Rights,
00:39:11.560 the Supreme Court of Zimbabwe,
00:39:13.420 the Supreme Court of India,
00:39:15.000 or the Privy Council.
00:39:17.220 As Thomas and Scalia later wrote,
00:39:19.440 the liberals on the Supreme Court
00:39:20.620 were on a, quote,
00:39:21.760 ceaseless quest to end the death penalty
00:39:23.380 through undemocratic means.
00:39:25.500 They were, quote,
00:39:26.160 replacing judgments of the people
00:39:27.680 with court's own standards of decency.
00:39:31.440 To this day, you have to admit
00:39:32.680 it's an effective strategy.
00:39:33.820 It's how the left is waging
00:39:34.740 their propaganda campaign
00:39:36.020 against the death penalty.
00:39:37.740 And in the case of Pike's appeal,
00:39:39.080 as the male judge pointed out, it's obscene for this woman's lawyers, who are taxpayer funded,
00:39:45.140 by the way, to wait until the last possible moment to file. They've already filed so many
00:39:49.460 other appeals, all of which have been rejected. And under our law, you don't get to file an
00:39:55.460 infinite number of appeals, unless there are some important new facts, like new DNA evidence or
00:40:01.080 something, then you're out of luck. A prosecutor's statement where he says he feels bad about some
00:40:06.540 alleged aspect of the killer's life is not new evidence. But these female judges simply ignored 1.00
00:40:13.600 the law and postponed the execution because they felt bad for a fellow member of the Yaya 1.00
00:40:18.500 sisterhood. The fact that she's a satanic murderer, evidently, doesn't matter. Nor does it matter to 0.96
00:40:24.940 the mob of women who gathered outside the prison to show their support for Pike. You know, we're
00:40:30.140 at the point where every other day, a woman receives an outpouring of public support for 0.98
00:40:34.980 engaging in unspeakably depraved acts, one which at any other point in human history would have
00:40:40.880 led to swift justice, in some cases in the form of a witch trial. And for that reason, it's well 0.99
00:40:47.580 past time that we talk about the scourge of female privilege in this country, which is now completely 0.99
00:40:51.800 out of control. And very few people are talking about it, even though it's thrust in our faces
00:40:56.720 every day, especially over the last month or two. It's like they're not even trying to hide it
00:41:02.840 anymore. Feminists who once pretended to believe in the impossible ideal of equality among the 1.00
00:41:08.680 sexes are now declaring that in reality, women are incapable of being held responsible for any 0.98
00:41:12.540 of their actions in any context, no matter how heinous their behavior is. They sound exactly 0.70
00:41:19.280 like the quote-unquote misogynist that they're constantly complaining about. And while in an
00:41:24.700 ideal world, no one would have to take these people seriously, the fact remains that feminists 1.00
00:41:29.360 are very well represented in the government and on juries and in the media. And as a result, 1.00
00:41:34.660 it's become extremely difficult to punish these women for the crimes they commit. First, we saw 0.83
00:41:40.340 nine female jurors refuse to convict Lindsay Clancy, even though it was very clear that she
00:41:44.820 brutally killed her own children. You know, to protect the right of women to slaughter their 0.90
00:41:49.620 kids at will, the mob went after the lone holdout on the jury, a black guy who actually cared about 0.96
00:41:54.080 the evidence and the law. Then we saw the Democrat Party and every national media outlet come out in
00:41:59.000 defense of a female Cornell student who told the DA in a written statement that she had
00:42:02.640 voluntarily engaged in an orgy at a frat house, only to change her story two years later.
00:42:07.560 Instead of assigning any blame to this woman because of her own conduct, the mob turned its
00:42:11.500 attention toward seven male Cornell students, accusing them of drugging and assaulting the
00:42:15.880 woman, even though she said that never happened. And now feminists are defending a satanic murderer 1.00
00:42:22.200 who killed an innocent girl because she felt like it. 0.74
00:42:27.880 And there is irony in that, by the way,
00:42:29.960 that the people rallying around Krista Pike
00:42:32.540 because she's a woman, well, she killed a girl.
00:42:36.360 And the person that she tried to kill 0.98
00:42:37.900 a few years later in prison was also a woman. 0.66
00:42:43.040 As mentioned, part of the reason
00:42:44.400 they're defending Krista Pike is that
00:42:45.840 she was supposed to be the first female death row inmate
00:42:48.700 executed in the state of Tennessee in more than 200 years, 0.91
00:42:51.120 which gives you a sense of how difficult it is to actually punish women in our judicial system. 0.99
00:42:59.200 So Tennessee hasn't executed a woman in 200 years. Is that because no woman in Tennessee 1.00
00:43:03.220 has committed a barbaric crime in that time frame? I'm pretty confident that's not the case.
00:43:10.860 I mean, you can go fact check me on it. I'm pretty confident that if you were to go check,
00:43:14.180 you would find plenty of cases in Tennessee of women committing murder.
00:43:17.760 it's also a window into again the demographic tribalism that has taken hold in this country 1.00
00:43:26.120 feminists recognize the possibility that a woman might finally be held accountable for actions and 1.00
00:43:31.220 they immediately rally to her defense it's like watching the blm thugs mobilize whenever a black 1.00
00:43:35.280 criminal stabs a cop or tries to pass a fake check or burns down a building in this case pike herself 0.97
00:43:42.600 has alluded to this kind of mob mentality a few days ago pike told a newspaper in the uk that
00:43:47.620 quote, I feel a kinship with Lindsay Clancy. We're both females who got into trouble because
00:43:53.400 of our uniquely female issues. This is another way, again, that you know that she's unrepentant 0.99
00:44:00.520 is that she's saying this kind of, I mean, she's at this point was days away from what
00:44:05.400 was supposed to be her execution. And she's going to the media with this, woe is me,
00:44:12.640 claiming claiming that that she's in trouble for female issues 0.96
00:44:18.680 this is someone who will not accept any accountability for her actions even now up to the
00:44:26.080 point of death still would not in fact by the way that when they carried out the execution
00:44:34.340 which apparently didn't take but based on what we're hearing from her statements
00:44:40.400 And this is at the moment where she thinks she's about to die.
00:44:43.180 Like, all the escape hatches have been closed now for good.
00:44:47.540 And as far as she knows, she's about to die.
00:44:50.860 And still, apparently, there was no real statement of, like, real heartfelt contrition even then.
00:44:58.660 All of her statements even then were still, woe is me.
00:45:01.340 It's all about me. 1.00
00:45:05.900 So, yes, they both got in trouble due to uniquely female issues.
00:45:09.720 And what are those uniquely female issues? 0.99
00:45:11.760 Well, they're both murderers 1.00
00:45:12.740 and they're both female. 1.00
00:45:13.580 I mean, that's about it. 0.68
00:45:15.760 The idea that only women get depressed 0.98
00:45:17.460 after having children
00:45:18.300 or that only women can be abused 1.00
00:45:19.620 when they're young
00:45:20.180 is obviously completely absurd. 1.00
00:45:24.400 But millions of feminists 1.00
00:45:25.640 have brainwashed themselves 1.00
00:45:26.700 into believing that nonsense
00:45:27.740 is a way of avoiding accountability
00:45:29.140 for their actions. 0.96
00:45:31.640 The case of Krista Pike
00:45:32.840 is not complicated.
00:45:33.840 She butchered a girl, 0.75
00:45:34.820 tortured her in a remote location, 0.82
00:45:37.160 kept a piece of her skull as a trophy, 0.99
00:45:39.720 That wasn't even the last person she would try to kill. Her female sex is the only thing that ever made her execution controversial. Executions are rare in this country, much rarer than they should be or used to be, but there are still around 20 or 30 per year. 1.00
00:45:57.680 Last year, there were, I think, 50, over 50 executions carried out.
00:46:01.820 You don't hear about most of them.
00:46:04.420 Why is that?
00:46:05.740 Well, because activists are extremely selective about the criminals they rally around.
00:46:09.480 Prior to this, the most recent high-profile execution that attracted mass protests and
00:46:14.020 petitions was a guy named Marcellus Williams in 2024.
00:46:17.340 And as you might have guessed from the name or might remember if you follow the news,
00:46:20.900 Williams was black.
00:46:22.260 And that was very explicitly one of the primary factors that, for the activists,
00:46:26.680 made the execution somehow problematic. Same thing applies now to Krista Pike because of her sex. 1.00
00:46:34.480 But the correct view on all this is that evil people should face the just consequences of
00:46:39.600 their actions. Doesn't matter what demographic cohort they belong to. Doesn't matter if they're
00:46:46.020 a man or a woman, if they're white or black. Doesn't matter if they have a sob story or
00:46:51.040 were abused as a child or had postpartum depression or suffer from anxiety or ADHD or restless leg
00:46:57.060 syndrome, justice means giving everyone what they are due. And if you brutalize and kill the 0.98
00:47:04.720 innocent, you are due the ultimate punishment. You have forfeited your right to continue existing. 0.96
00:47:14.220 Justice itself is not a negotiable aspect of civilized society. At a civilizational level,
00:47:20.260 and even at a personal level, it is a need, like food and water and shelter.
00:47:27.340 Our ancestors understood this basic reality just as they understood many other basic realities
00:47:31.620 better than we do. That's why they punished evil swiftly and violently and with finality.
00:47:40.280 We've become squeamish about it. That's why Lindsay Clancy is not serving life in prison
00:47:45.840 right now. It's why Krista Pike apparently isn't dead even after being executed.
00:47:50.260 if we want to restore justice to our society, which we must,
00:47:55.720 we're going to have to get over that squeamishness.
00:47:59.440 We're going to have to punish evil people.
00:48:02.960 It's what they deserve.
00:48:05.360 And more importantly, it's what their victims deserve too.
00:48:10.720 That'll do it for the show today.
00:48:11.660 Thanks for watching. Thanks for listening.
00:48:12.720 Talk to you on Monday. Have a great weekend.
00:48:14.840 Godspeed.
00:48:20.260 Every significant movement in history has started with protesting. 1.00
00:48:24.260 You're a traitor! Uncle Tom! 1.00
00:48:25.260 This is our generation's civil rights.
00:48:27.260 I have no idea what the protest is about.
00:48:29.260 Bingo!
00:48:30.260 Given the current climate,
00:48:31.260 we should have figured as polarizing as Clay Saunders
00:48:34.260 even be allowed on campus.
00:48:35.260 Ah, can you hear me okay?
00:48:36.260 Saunders is a close personal friend of Chancellor Friedman.
00:48:39.260 This is a decision I cannot find. 1.00
