00:00:00.000 Well, a lot of people have asked me to give my opinion on this Gay Jesus Netflix Christmas special.
00:00:06.180 If you hadn't heard about it, here's the Daily Wire.
00:00:08.780 Netflix is catching major heat after the streaming service added a Christmas-themed dark comedy made by a Brazilian comedy group about, quote, gay Jesus.
00:00:18.240 Over 1.2 million Christians have signed a Change.org petition asking Netflix to remove the special titled The First Temptation of Christ.
00:00:27.620 According to LGBT website Pink News, the Brazilian comedy group Porta dos Fundos, which literally means backdoor, is comprised of five people from Rio de Janeiro who started making sketches and parodies on their YouTube channel.
00:00:40.220 Jesus is in the special.
00:00:42.180 Jesus is turning 30 and brings a surprise guest to meet the family.
00:00:46.960 A Christmas special so wrong that it must be from comedians Porta dos Fundos, the film was described on Netflix.
00:00:52.760 The First Temptation of Christ has been slammed as blasphemous and disrespectful by Brazilian Christians, many identifying as Catholics.
00:01:05.140 Various people have chimed in.
00:01:07.920 It is a serious offense against Jesus Christ and the Christians.
00:01:10.700 It has no historical evidence to support the insinuations presented, one petitioner, one petitioner, signer wrote, according to Pink News.
00:01:17.280 And so you get the idea.
00:01:22.000 I'll tell you why I've been hesitant to talk about this, because this is obviously nothing but cheap, stupid, witless provocation by this, quote, unquote, comedy group.
00:01:35.000 This is the equivalent of someone making a fart noise in your face, if it's even that sophisticated.
00:01:41.300 I mean, I think even that's probably overselling it a little bit.
00:01:43.720 They're begging for attention.
00:01:46.000 They want you to be outraged, but they haven't really earned it.
00:01:50.200 They haven't earned your outrage.
00:01:52.560 Part of me feels like getting mad about this is like getting mad at someone for making a your mama joke.
00:01:58.600 Now, it could be perfectly warranted for you to be upset or angry when someone insults your mother.
00:02:06.820 But if they do it in the form of a your mama joke, then it's not worth your energy, right?
00:02:11.100 And so part of me feels like that's the case here.
00:02:16.120 And and all of what I'm saying now would hold true.
00:02:21.480 If this comedy group.
00:02:24.040 And you just have to imagine the air quotes every time I say comedy group.
00:02:28.860 But if this group had had just made this dumb video, put it on YouTube or something like that.
00:02:35.100 And that was that then I would say, well, there's there's there's there's nothing for us to talk about.
00:02:41.320 We shouldn't react to it.
00:02:42.800 We shouldn't give these morons our attention.
00:02:45.260 But that's not what happened.
00:02:47.080 Netflix picked it up.
00:02:49.360 Netflix.
00:02:51.380 A billion dollar company.
00:02:53.860 One of the most one of the now one of the most powerful media companies in the world.
00:02:57.540 They lent it their tacit endorsement and are now distributing this video, putting it in front in front of millions of people's eyeballs.
00:03:05.100 And that's why if if we take our faith seriously and we have any self-respect, then we do have to speak out against it.
00:03:12.520 Even though, as I said, I understand the argument of don't even pay attention to it.
00:03:17.300 These people are total idiots.
00:03:20.060 But it's not about them.
00:03:21.280 It's really about Netflix.
00:03:22.260 And in fact, the stupidity of it, the the absolute idiocy, as at some point I'm going to remember to turn my phone on silent when I do a show.
00:03:33.480 You know, I'm I'm I'm a professional if you hadn't noticed.
00:03:37.620 But really, the stupidity, the idiocy of it, it just it just makes it all the more worthy of condemnation when you add in the Netflix factor,
00:03:46.080 because it's not like this is some brilliant and provocative cinematic work.
00:03:52.520 OK, the last temptation of Christ, that Scorsese movie, which is sacrilegious and blasphemous,
00:03:57.240 came out 30 years ago in the 80s or 90s or whenever it was.
00:04:00.640 And I don't know if Netflix has that on their on their platform.
00:04:03.960 They probably do.
00:04:05.340 But they could always use the excuse of, well, this is a this is a legitimate movie made by one of the great masters in Hollywood,
00:04:13.160 which is true. And so we're going to put it on the platform.
00:04:17.580 Now, I think it's a it's a really bad movie on top of being sacrilegious and blasphemous.
00:04:21.960 It's Scorsese's worst film by, I think, a long shot.
00:04:26.460 But at least they can use that excuse there.
00:04:29.740 Not with this.
00:04:30.760 This is, again, entirely witless, lacking in any kind of real humor or intelligence.
00:04:37.120 The whole joke is just, hey, Jesus is gay.
00:04:41.500 Ha ha. That's that's the whole thing.
00:04:43.480 So you might as well you might as well have a guy standing in front of the camera for 45 minutes saying that over and over again,
00:04:50.060 because that's the entire joke.
00:04:51.720 That's the punchline. That's all there is going on.
00:04:54.900 The point is, even from the perspective of the godless folks over at Netflix,
00:04:59.780 there was nothing here that warranted it being added to their platform.
00:05:03.760 No artistic quality, no comedic quality to it.
00:05:07.780 Nothing.
00:05:09.220 The only thing is that it was a smack in the face to Christians.
00:05:12.920 So Netflix added it to their platform solely and entirely because it spits in the face of Christians.
00:05:21.320 So Netflix obviously felt that, yeah, well, there's not much going on here,
00:05:25.240 but it spits in the face of Christians.
00:05:27.640 So we like it.
00:05:28.460 We're going to add it for that reason and for no other reason.
00:05:31.240 And if that's the message, if that's what Netflix is saying to us,
00:05:36.280 if they're saying we hate you, we don't respect you, we don't want your business,
00:05:42.300 then I think we should give them what they want, which is the loss of our business.
00:05:46.560 This isn't even a boycott.
00:05:48.100 This isn't about boycotting or anything like that.
00:05:51.220 This is a company saying, screw you people.
00:05:54.020 We hate you.
00:05:54.820 We don't want your money.
00:05:55.680 And so what are we supposed to say?
00:05:58.560 But okay, fine.
00:05:59.400 It's like if you go to a person's house party and they make it clear from the moment you walk in the door
00:06:05.180 that they don't want you there, they hate you, they don't respect you.
00:06:08.420 Are you going to stay at the party?
00:06:09.500 Why?
00:06:10.500 Are you going to stay at the party when you're not welcome?
00:06:12.460 It's uncomfortable.
00:06:13.260 You're being abused.
00:06:15.040 You're going to leave.
00:06:16.720 It's not even that you're storming out or making a scene.
00:06:19.280 You're obviously not wanted here.
00:06:21.220 So okay, I'm going to leave.
00:06:24.340 Netflix obviously doesn't want our business.
00:06:27.600 So all right.
00:06:29.940 They have every right to put that garbage on their platform if they want to.
00:06:34.640 They don't, but it's clear that it's put there simply to kick us in the shins basically as Christians.
00:06:42.760 So all right, message received.
00:06:44.440 Now, I also want to echo the point that many have made already, and it's a good point.
00:06:51.940 So I think it should be repeated because I know people, some people will try to defend
00:06:58.380 Netflix and this quote unquote comedy troupe by saying, well, there's value in taking down
00:07:06.040 sacred cows, in insulting the things that people hold dear just for the sake of it, just because.
00:07:15.220 As an expression of creative freedom and blah, blah, blah.
00:07:19.200 Now, I don't buy that argument.
00:07:21.260 I don't think there is value in tearing something down simply for the sake of it.
00:07:25.780 I think there's value in tearing something down if it's, if it's, if it deserves to be
00:07:30.080 torn down, if it needs to be torn down, then yeah, tear it down.
00:07:33.280 And if it's, if it needs to be torn down and it's something that people cherish, then so
00:07:37.440 what?
00:07:37.920 They shouldn't cherish it.
00:07:39.000 Okay.
00:07:39.740 But tearing something down for the sake of it, I don't think there's any value in that.
00:07:44.440 But at any rate, um, that's not even what these cowards are doing because notice they do this
00:07:55.780 to Christians, they do this with Jesus.
00:07:59.160 They would never do this with other groups like, for instance, Muslims.
00:08:04.340 Okay.
00:08:04.540 So you're, you're not going to see a hilarious comedy sketch where Muhammad is a gay man,
00:08:13.020 where the, where the whole punchline is Muhammad is gay.
00:08:16.140 You're not going to see that.
00:08:17.140 You're only going to see that with Christians.
00:08:22.100 So that last refuge of claiming this is about freedom of expression.
00:08:27.020 It's about free speech.
00:08:27.980 This is about being bold and brave.
00:08:29.880 It's not brave.
00:08:31.800 But to insult Christians that, that what's brave about that?
00:08:35.140 Everybody does that.
00:08:36.860 Everybody in Hollywood does it.
00:08:38.320 The media, so you insult Christians, then, you know, you're, you're putting yourself on
00:08:44.700 the same side as all of the most powerful institutions in the West.
00:08:51.220 And especially if you're a filmmaker or comedy troupe, Hollywood's going to love it.
00:08:56.920 They do it all the time.
00:08:59.260 Nothing brave about that.
00:09:00.540 And your own physical safety will not be threatened because Christians don't respond to these kinds
00:09:06.900 of provocations by, with suicide bombs.
00:09:11.660 That's just not how Christians respond to this stuff.
00:09:14.660 So nothing brave, nothing courageous.
00:09:18.760 Now to do that with Muslims, with Muhammad, now you're putting something on the line.
00:09:24.800 Now you're risking something socially because that's not going to be accepted in Hollywood.
00:09:32.880 And you're also probably risking your physical safety.
00:09:37.020 So you're not going to do that.
00:09:38.360 No, because it's not about that.
00:09:40.260 This is about, this is about a, just scoring a cheap point.
00:09:46.040 And as I said, fine, Netflix doesn't want our business.
00:09:48.980 That's all.
00:09:49.660 They don't want it.
00:09:50.300 Why would you, why, why would anyone continue to give their business to someone who doesn't want it?
00:09:58.680 If you walked in to the local grocery store and the owner came out and said, you're a piece of garbage.
00:10:07.280 I hate you.
00:10:08.240 I don't want you in here.
00:10:09.600 Your money is no good here.
00:10:11.260 Screw you.
00:10:13.300 You turn around and leave, right?
00:10:14.740 How, how emasculated and henpecked would you have to be to say, okay, but I'm still going to give you my money.
00:10:24.720 Will you please take my money though?
00:10:26.020 Will you please still take it?
00:10:27.020 I know you hate me, but will you take it?
00:10:30.100 No, we're not going to do that.
00:10:32.220 We shouldn't do that.
00:10:33.020 Before we move on here, let's check in with our friends from Honey.

00:11:49.560 That's joinhoney.com slash Walsh.
00:11:54.220 Well, you know, Barack Obama, a man who single-handedly prevented a woman from becoming president in 2008, he recently said, maybe you heard about this, he was giving a speech, and he said that women are indisputably better leaders than men.
00:12:09.900 Indisputably.
00:12:10.460 He constructed this utopian vision of an estrogen-filled future and said that he's, quote, absolutely confident that there would be significant improvement in all aspects of life if every nation on Earth was run by a woman for even just two years.
00:12:27.840 So two years of women running everything, and the whole world would be improved drastically.
00:12:34.120 Now, he did allow in the speech that women are, quote, not perfect.
00:12:39.340 So he did say that, but he said that they're better than us, meaning men.
00:12:44.540 And despite having chosen himself an old man, not a woman, an old man, as his running mate for both of his presidential campaigns, he also laid the blame for the state of the world at the feet of old men who refused to get out of the way.
00:12:59.860 So this is the rhetoric that he's going with.
00:13:01.820 So I think maybe all you need to say in response to this simpering, ridiculous nonsense is just speak for yourself, Obama.
00:13:13.100 If you feel like you were an inadequate leader, then I'm inclined to agree.
00:13:18.160 And if you feel like pretty much any woman would have been better than you, sure, I'm with you on that.
00:13:23.720 But I don't think your problem was an excess of testosterone.
00:13:26.840 I don't think that was the issue.
00:13:27.840 Now, as to this idea that women are better leaders than men, and Obama's not the only person that you hear this from.
00:13:36.700 You hear from feminists, too.
00:13:38.320 It's a common talking point on the left, especially.
00:13:43.640 Well, there's no evidence whatsoever that women are inherently better leaders than men.
00:13:49.940 Women have led many countries throughout history.
00:13:52.880 There are several countries today that are run by women.
00:13:55.100 So you can go and look.
00:13:57.260 And if female leadership spawned drastic improvements across the board, we should have quantifiable evidence of that by now.
00:14:04.840 You should be able to look and see, well, when women take over, look at all these things.
00:14:08.680 Everything gets better.
00:14:09.340 Well, that's not actually what you see.
00:14:11.780 It kind of depends on the woman, just like it depends on the man, as far as leadership goes.
00:14:15.680 Besides, I think personal experience would maybe call into question Obama's claim that exclusive female leadership would bring peace and harmony throughout the globe.
00:14:26.920 Because, and I'll try to say this delicately, but women are good at many things, certainly.
00:14:33.020 But peaceful and drama-free cooperation with each other doesn't quite make the top ten of that list.
00:14:42.980 So when you hear this stuff about if women ran everything, there'd be no more wars.
00:14:47.320 Are you sure?
00:14:48.080 I think there would at least be the same number of wars, maybe even more, actually.
00:14:55.800 Because that's not, you know, that's, it's a stereotype that women often struggle to get along with each other.
00:15:02.800 It's a stereotype, but it's a stereotype for a reason.
00:15:06.380 There's definitely a lot of truth to it.
00:15:08.100 But the larger point, putting that aside, because, as I said, when it comes to leadership, really, it just, it depends on the person.
00:15:18.960 There are some women who would make great leaders.
00:15:20.660 There are some women who would be terrible leaders, just like with men.
00:15:23.740 But the larger point is this, and I always go back to this.
00:15:27.500 I feel like I have to go back to it.
00:15:30.420 Because I just, I think we need to demand consistency from people.
00:15:35.980 And the problem for Democrats is that they can't engage in this kind of you-go-girl stuff anymore.
00:15:46.100 It's like they somehow keep forgetting all the things they've been saying about gender for the last 10 or 15 years.
00:15:54.060 They can't talk about the gifts and abilities of women.
00:15:58.340 Nor can they contrast women with men in order to highlight the advantages of female leadership and so on.
00:16:04.940 But it's not just that they come off like pathetic suck-ups when they do that, but it's that their own ideology precludes this form of sucking up.
00:16:13.740 You can't do it anymore.
00:16:15.760 Because these are the very same people who tell us that women are equal to men in every respect.
00:16:20.560 And there is no such thing as a unique female personality trait or unique female characteristics.
00:16:26.940 And by the way, if there was, if you could say, now Obama wants to say that women are, he wants to ascribe certain positive personality traits to women.
00:16:42.480 And if you're going to go down that road, then you also have to allow that there are negative personality traits that are unique or specially manifested in women.
00:16:56.620 You can't just say that it's positive.
00:17:00.300 That's not how people work.
00:17:02.060 Nobody has only positive traits.
00:17:05.760 But regardless, this is a road you can't explore at all if you're on the left.
00:17:10.200 Because Democrats would actually reject the idea if you ask them that there are any personality traits exclusive to women, good or bad, actually.
00:17:21.300 And, in fact, they won't even admit that female reproductive organs are exclusive to women.
00:17:25.520 They won't even admit that a woman's body is exclusive to a woman.
00:17:29.020 By their version of reality, there is no objective difference between men and women.
00:17:36.380 And as I've discussed plenty of times in the past, they aren't willing or even able to offer so much as a definition for woman.
00:17:46.300 So when Obama says, women this, women that, women we've got, if you were to raise your hand in the audience and say, you keep talking about women, what is that?
00:17:55.700 What do you mean by that?
00:17:56.880 He wouldn't be able to answer the question.
00:18:00.940 He could not answer it.
00:18:03.080 When I say could not, for someone like Obama, it's not that he doesn't know the answer, but his ideology prevents him from saying it.
00:18:10.960 He knows the answer.
00:18:11.680 He knows what a woman is.
00:18:13.380 Most of these people on the left do.
00:18:16.340 Especially the older people on the left.
00:18:18.520 Who lived, say, 40 or 50 years of their lives, never once entertaining or mentioning this idea that men,
00:18:26.880 can get pregnant and all this kind of stuff.
00:18:29.460 And then in the last five or 10 years, they switched courses and abandoned the scientific reality that they had known for all that time.
00:18:41.420 So Obama knows the truth, but he can't say it.
00:18:44.460 He won't say it, if you ask him.
00:18:47.260 And so that's it.
00:18:50.520 According to them, anyone with any body and any brain and any character trait can be a woman.
00:18:56.820 Also, any person with the body and brain of a woman can be a man or something else entirely.
00:19:01.300 And this state of affairs makes nonsense of all feminist rhetoric.
00:19:07.360 It all goes out the window.
00:19:09.280 A statement like, women are better at such and such, requires that women are a discernible group with identifying features in common.
00:19:19.440 When you say women, you have to be referring to something.
00:19:25.680 If they aren't, then nothing can be said about them, good or bad.
00:19:30.540 Women are everything at once and nothing in particular.
00:19:33.600 In effect, they don't exist.
00:19:35.760 There is no such thing as women anymore.
00:19:38.500 There are no women.
00:19:39.300 There are no men.
00:19:40.580 We are all part of some ambiguous mass of indistinguishable humanity.
00:19:46.560 That's all there is anymore.
00:19:47.800 And that's supposed to be Obama's message.
00:19:52.340 Doesn't make for a very inspiring speech.
00:19:55.620 But that's supposed to be his message.
00:19:58.680 And I think we have to hold them to it.
00:20:01.200 That's what I say to conservatives.
00:20:04.220 Even if you sound like a broken record, which I do sometimes or often, we got to hold them to this.
00:20:11.460 That's their claim.
00:20:12.780 They have their gender ideology.
00:20:15.260 We have to hold them to it all the time.
00:20:18.040 So anytime they start talking about women, they start acting like the word woman means something to them, we have to step in and remind them, oh, no, no, you can't use that word anymore.
00:20:28.820 That doesn't mean anything to you.
00:20:29.760 And if they protest that it does, then just ask them, okay, what does it mean?
00:20:35.420 They can't answer it.
00:20:37.320 I really, I mean, I think that we should just never move on from this fact.
00:20:41.000 We should never move on and talk about anything else.
00:20:44.680 Because the fact is, you've got one half of the political divide that these days cannot define the word woman.
00:20:51.100 And we should never move on.
00:20:52.140 We should force them.
00:20:53.600 It's like, how can we move on and talk about anything else when you don't even know what this word means?
00:20:58.220 This is basic words that you don't even know what they mean anymore.
00:21:01.240 You need to figure out what these words mean or we really can't talk about anything.
00:21:06.600 It's amazing to me that conservatives let liberals get away with this.
00:21:17.260 Political debates, cable news debates, conservatives will sit there and let liberals use a word like woman,
00:21:27.200 and they never stop and say, what does that mean to you?
00:21:32.620 I've never seen anyone do it.
00:21:34.940 How have I never seen anyone do that?
00:21:36.300 How has no one ever done this?
00:21:40.160 I want to see a leftist put on the spot, on TV, with this question.
00:21:47.080 That's what I want to see.
00:21:49.340 So if you're a conservative watching this and you're going to do a cable news head,
00:21:52.080 if you're in the media or you're a politician, you're going to be doing a debate sometime.
00:21:57.380 I want, put them on the spot.
00:21:59.020 The first time they say the word woman, stop them and say, what does that mean?
00:22:03.160 Give me a definition.
00:22:06.300 It's like we're letting them get away with it.
00:22:08.820 We're letting them get away with holding their gender ideology.
00:22:14.700 It's total nonsense.
00:22:16.100 It's completely insane.
00:22:16.940 It has erased everything they've said about gender for the last 50 years, and we're letting them get away with it.
00:22:25.680 Like, we're helping them by pretending we don't notice how insane it is.
00:22:32.840 I mean, imagine, imagine if there was a politician who, of either party, who was a flat earther, who believed the earth was flat.
00:22:48.900 And unfortunately, there are more people than you would like to believe these days who do believe the earth is flat.
00:22:55.960 But what if a politician, what if a senator or someone came out and said the earth is flat?
00:23:00.220 Would you ever be able to take anything they say seriously again?
00:23:05.940 Would you ever, if you were ever, if you were a candidate opposing them in an election, would you allow there to be ever any debate that doesn't come back to that point?
00:23:18.040 Like, would you allow them to ever move on?
00:23:20.120 Would you allow them to say, oh, yeah, I think the earth is flat.
00:23:22.260 But anyway, let's talk about this over here.
00:23:25.860 You know, every chance you got, you would say, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, stop.
00:23:29.480 Wait a second.
00:23:30.660 Let's go back to the earth being flat thing.
00:23:32.360 We're not going to skip over that.
00:23:33.540 We need to explore that.
00:23:37.520 Yet we let the left do this.
00:23:39.420 We let Democrat politicians do this.
00:23:42.700 They have all made a claim about science that is as insane.
00:23:47.300 In fact, I would say more insane than the claim that the earth is flat.
00:23:52.260 Their claim that a biological male with male reproductive organs can be a woman, their claim that men can give birth, every Democrat on the national stage, every single one of them would claim or has claimed that men can give birth.
00:24:13.800 They all believe that, or at least they will pretend to believe it.
00:24:17.120 That is, again, as crazy, in fact, no, more crazy, much crazier than saying the earth is flat.
00:24:27.520 And yet we let these people move on and talk about other things without demanding that they justify that claim.
00:24:40.460 Every time they say anything, we should stop them and say, yeah, but you think men can give birth, so you're crazy.
00:24:46.020 You're just insane.
00:24:47.060 I mean, until you drop that, why should I listen to anything you say about any topic?
00:24:52.920 All right.

00:25:50.100 Reading now again from the Daily Wire.
00:25:51.700 On Monday, video emerged of the performance of transgender stripper Beyonce Black St. James.
00:25:58.520 I think that's the whole name.
00:26:00.160 Beyonce Black St. James.
00:26:03.400 I'm thinking probably not the Christian name.
00:26:06.660 At the annual conference of Seattle and King County officials on solving homelessness on December 9th.
00:26:11.540 Christopher Rufo, a contributing editor for the City Journal, posted the video on Twitter commenting,
00:26:16.980 Here's how they're using taxpayer money.
00:26:19.600 The incident in question prompted the King County Department of Community and Human Services to place Kira Zylstra,
00:26:26.840 organizer of the conference at South Seattle College, on leave last Thursday.
00:26:30.940 Journalist Erica C. Barnett reported Denise Rothlutner, deputy director of King County's Department of Community and Human Services,
00:26:40.320 said in an email,
00:26:41.880 The department is aware of an event that occurred during the All Home annual conference on December 9th, 2019.
00:26:48.260 We have placed a director of All Home on administrative leave pending the results of an investigation into the event and the leadership of All Home.
00:26:55.880 The Seattle Times reported that Zylstra was paid roughly $123,000 annually.
00:27:03.160 According to a county spokesperson, the Times added that the only note on the agenda for the annual conference
00:27:08.780 was lunch with cultural presentation without a warning or announcement about the performance itself.
00:27:17.180 Now, there is a video of this performance of the transgender stripper.
00:27:21.220 I will not play it, especially after everything I said last week about pornography.
00:27:27.460 But it is out there.
00:27:29.620 Cultural presentation.
00:27:32.400 Have you ever heard a better euphemism for something?
00:27:37.200 That's the euphemism they're using for a transgender striptease.
00:27:40.960 A cultural presentation.
00:27:42.540 Can you imagine going...
00:27:44.400 That's all they put on the agenda, apparently.
00:27:45.980 You would have no idea.
00:27:47.760 They said, come down for lunch.
00:27:48.980 We're going to do a cultural presentation.
00:27:52.320 And the next thing you know, you see a man with fake breasts taking his clothes off on the stage.
00:27:59.220 Where is the culture in that?
00:28:00.840 What's cultural about that?
00:28:03.880 Where is the culture in a male with fake breasts taking his clothes off?
00:28:10.100 But see, I think this story is important to take note of.
00:28:13.200 One, because it once again highlights the complete descent into insanity that's happening on the left.
00:28:22.300 But also because Democrats say, oh, you got to give us more money.
00:28:27.120 We need more money, more money, more tax money.
00:28:29.360 And if you give us more money, we're going to do things like solve homelessness.
00:28:33.000 Bernie Sanders makes this claim all the time.
00:28:34.820 Give him more money, more money, more money.
00:28:36.400 And we'll solve homelessness.
00:28:38.020 We'll have a utopia.
00:28:39.320 No homelessness, no drug addiction, no starving people.
00:28:42.980 Everyone's got no more student debt.
00:28:46.220 Well, the Democrats in Seattle, they got tax money to solve homelessness.
00:28:52.280 And this is what they did.
00:28:53.460 This is what they meant by we're going to solve homelessness.
00:28:56.940 What they meant is transgender stripper.
00:29:00.600 So keep that in mind.
00:29:04.420 Let's go to emails.
00:29:05.500 MattWalshow at gmail.com.
00:29:07.060 MattWalshow at gmail.com.
00:29:08.660 This is from Chris.
00:29:10.160 Says, Matt, your disastrous and frankly dangerously heretical guidance on cooking the sweet ambrosia that is salty, delicious pork belly,
00:29:17.600 simply called bacon by the untutored, is nothing short of inciting vandalism.
00:29:21.980 You might as well champion drawing crayon mustaches on the Mona Lisa.
00:29:26.180 Every man with an orderly mind and properly educated in the preparation of the gift God literally blessed mankind with on a tablecloth from the heavens knows it must be grilled.
00:29:35.580 Only a searing, well-seasoned grill provides the proper balance of heat and carbon required to allow the internal fat to reach just that crispy and tender homeostasis,
00:29:44.000 which yields a perfect sweetness that can set off any dish from omelets to oysters to only bacon.
00:29:49.020 Indeed, indeed, the only acceptable justification for cooking bacon in a skillet is a need to save and use the drippings to later infuse into a bottle of Kentucky bourbon.
00:29:57.320 Your distorted views on this topic make me question your suitability for any future tyrannical aspirations.
00:30:02.640 Well, Chris, I spent 10 minutes on my show talking about bacon, while other shows are talking about breaking news, important news like impeachment.
00:30:13.200 I'm sitting here talking about bacon, okay?
00:30:17.600 That's the kind of commitment you get from me when it comes to this topic.
00:30:22.760 Is there any other show hosts?
00:30:24.980 Anyone else in conservative media anywhere who's going to spend 10 minutes of a show talking about how to cook bacon?
00:30:31.100 Maybe there's a reason for that possible.
00:30:36.820 But that's what I did.
00:30:38.180 And your response is to criticize me?
00:30:42.000 Your response, rather than writing me an email saying,
00:30:44.760 thank you so much, Matt, for that beautiful presentation.
00:30:48.540 Thank you for calling attention to this.
00:30:51.340 Thank you for raising awareness about the proper way to cook bacon.
00:30:54.880 Thank you for that.
00:30:56.340 You are a hero.
00:30:57.360 You deserve the Nobel Prize.
00:30:58.780 You are a genius.
00:31:01.340 Instead of that, which is what I expect, I get criticism.
00:31:07.340 Unbelievable.
00:31:09.200 And you expect me to believe that you know how to cook bacon?
00:31:13.740 Because, you know, cooking bacon comes down to character.
00:31:16.420 It comes down to what kind of a person are you?
00:31:20.180 And I firmly believe if you cannot properly cook bacon, that's a reflection of your character.
00:31:26.520 It's obvious that you have character flaws.
00:31:29.220 One of them, ingratitude.
00:31:32.220 So, no, I don't want your ungrateful bacon.
00:31:35.740 You don't need...
00:31:36.620 I showed you the photographic evidence.
00:31:39.740 You saw it for yourself.
00:31:41.200 So maybe you need to expand your mind a little bit.
00:31:42.980 I don't need a fancy grill.
00:31:44.400 I'll put it on a skillet.
00:31:45.580 I could cook the bacon on a hot furnace.
00:31:49.120 Okay?
00:31:49.420 I could cook it on the street on a 90-degree day, and it's going to look that good.
00:31:55.360 It's not about the tools you use, Chris.
00:31:59.060 It's about the spirit, the love that you put into it.
00:32:04.040 That's what I believe.
00:32:04.720 How dare you.
00:32:09.680 From Jeff.
00:32:10.580 Greetings, Matt.
00:32:11.280 I really appreciate your show and all you do.
00:32:12.800 I agree with your recent stances on pornography, Christmas decorations, and bacon.
00:32:17.920 But I can't let your...
00:32:19.900 Those are the things I've been talking about.
00:32:21.520 It's true.
00:32:22.340 But I can't let your error regarding the worst Christmas song ever go unchecked.
00:32:25.920 The worst Christmas song ever is by the other solo Beatle artist, John Lennon.
00:32:29.780 Happy X-mas, war is over.
00:32:31.280 The song is so bad, I can only attribute your error to your subconscious mind, forgetting that it does, in fact, exist.
00:32:37.100 I've attached a link to this putrid garbage, and I apologize in advance if you click on it.
00:32:42.400 Yeah, well, it is a terrible song.
00:32:44.820 Obviously, Jeff from John Lennon, he had a few terrible songs, that being one of them.
00:32:50.300 But everyone knows it's a terrible song.
00:32:52.860 So this is like Christmas Shoes or that Benefit song from the 80s.
00:32:57.480 What was it called?
00:32:58.060 Do They Know It's Christmas?
00:32:59.040 Everybody knows those are terrible songs, and you don't really hear them that much anyway.
00:33:05.320 The fact that Wonderful Christmas Time is played so much and it's embraced by so many people
00:33:09.880 is what puts it over the top as the worst Christmas song of all time, in my view.
00:33:13.000 It's like if we were talking about the worst movie of all time.
00:33:15.820 You could go the easy route and say Battlefield Earth, or what was that Ben Affleck J-Lo movie from the early 2000s?
00:33:22.040 Jiggly or Geely or whatever it's called.
00:33:25.420 You could say, well, those are the, yeah, I mean, obviously those are in the running for the worst movies of all time.
00:33:31.080 But everyone knows they're terrible.
00:33:33.020 Nobody likes them.
00:33:33.900 So that's why I would say the worst movie of all time, in my opinion, the worst movie of all time is Avatar.
00:33:40.160 Because it was really, really, really, really, really bad and boring and derivative, bordering on plagiarizing.
00:33:48.860 But also it made a billion dollars, which accentuates the badness and makes it all the more important that we denounce it.
00:33:55.720 And so that's what I would say about Wonderful Christmas Time.
00:34:00.400 Clearly there are other songs that are just as bad, objectively speaking.
00:34:06.720 But it's the fact that this song is played incessantly.
00:34:10.200 And I really don't know why, because I haven't met one person in my life ever who likes this song.
00:34:16.320 And I've asked all of them.
00:34:17.600 Every person I meet, I ask them this question.
00:34:19.340 It's kind of weird.
00:34:20.460 It's an obsession of mine, if you couldn't tell, because I spent 15 minutes on that.
00:34:23.760 I spent 15 minutes on Wonderful Christmas Time, dissecting it line by line.
00:34:29.240 The next show, I spend 10 minutes on bacon.
00:34:32.360 Anyway, this is from Sarah.
00:34:33.580 It says, Hi, Matt.
00:34:34.280 You gave us your thoughts on the worst Christmas song ever.
00:34:36.540 But what is the worst version of a classic Christmas song ever?
00:34:42.200 I'm going with the Johnny Cash, Hark the Herald abomination.
00:34:46.500 Now, I had no idea that Johnny Cash did a Hark the Herald rendition.
00:34:52.080 But he did, apparently.
00:34:54.080 So let's take a quick listen to that.
00:34:56.680 Hark the Herald angels sing.
00:35:01.200 Glory to the newborn king.
00:35:05.740 Peace on earth and mercy mild.
00:35:10.300 God and sinners reconciled.
00:35:14.180 I think that wasn't so bad.
00:35:16.600 I mean, I love Johnny Cash song by us.
00:35:18.740 It's not great.
00:35:19.960 It's a little weird.
00:35:20.900 Not really Johnny Cash's style.
00:35:23.140 Not the version of Hark the Herald that I would listen to, but it's not even close to
00:35:27.340 the worst.
00:35:27.960 No, the worst rendition of a classic Christmas song.
00:35:32.240 I think this is easy.
00:35:33.180 This is Christina Aguilera did an Oh, Holy Night rendition.
00:35:37.980 And the fact that she butchers such a beautiful song is what makes it all the worst.
00:35:42.660 But let's listen to part of that.
00:35:45.340 Oh, Holy Night, the stars are brightly shining.
00:35:58.780 It is the night of a dear Savior's blood.
00:36:05.080 Oh, yeah.
00:36:11.320 Now, long lay the world in sin and never pining till he appeared.
00:36:22.960 And the soul felt its worth.
00:36:28.860 Yeah, okay.
00:36:30.300 Just sing the song, Christina.
00:36:32.160 Sing the damn song.
00:36:34.080 Christmas hymns are not a time for showing off your vocal range.
00:36:38.240 The Christmas songs, and this is what I, all hymns, any song that sang in a church or that
00:36:45.300 could, that is a song that would be appropriate to sing in a church, any of these songs, hymns,
00:36:51.660 gospel songs, any of it, it's not about you, the singer. You sing a song, you sing it
00:36:57.900 traditionally. I don't want to hear you mixing it up a little bit and trying to do
00:37:03.000 your own cute thing with it. Just sing the song. All right, this is from Nathan says,
00:37:08.640 Matt, I've heard your opinion about the worst Christmas song, but what about the best?
00:37:12.880 Enough with the negativity. I don't know why you accuse me of negativity. I'm nothing but
00:37:17.020 a ray of sunshine. All I ever do is look on the bright side. I'm honestly shocked that you would
00:37:21.640 say that about me. This show could be titled The Bright Side with Matt Walsh. Maybe that should be
00:37:27.460 the title actually, because that's all I do is I say, listen, let's not focus on the bad things in
00:37:32.880 life. Let's all just be happy. Isn't that my message? Anyway, best Christmas song. Well,
00:37:39.180 there are two categories here. There's the secular commercial Christmas song, the traditional hymn.
00:37:44.260 Obviously, the hymns are better, but I'll give you the best of both categories. So for commercial songs,
00:37:49.940 the best is obviously White Christmas, specifically the Bing Crosby version. Really,
00:37:56.480 every Bing Crosby Christmas song. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. That's another great one.
00:38:01.320 As for hymns, I'm partial to O Come, O Come, Emmanuel, which is, every time I say this,
00:38:07.780 this is why, anytime I say this, every Catholic jumps in and says, that's not a Christmas song.
00:38:11.180 It's an Advent song. That's Advent, not Christmas. I know it's an Advent song. I'm aware of that.
00:38:17.820 But it's still my, I consider it a Christmas song also because I really like it. It's my favorite.
00:38:22.340 Also, though, I would say, O Come, All Ye Faithful, beautiful song. Joy to the World is also great.
00:38:30.780 Hark the Herald, Holy Night, The First Noel. I mean, they're all superb. When it comes to
00:38:38.500 traditional Christmas hymns, there isn't a bad one. They're all good. But probably,
00:38:44.520 if I can't count, O Come, O Come, Emmanuel, then I would probably say, O Come, All Ye Faithful.
00:38:51.140 Now, this is from, we'll do one more. This is from, well, there's no name given. Says,
00:38:55.120 hey, Matt, my husband and I are new listeners to your show. We really appreciate your humor and
00:38:58.440 the topics that you cover. My husband and I recently had a son, and on our journey to becoming parents,
00:39:02.820 we went through fertility treatment. Thank God that we didn't need to do IVF, as IVF would not have
00:39:08.020 been an option for us as pro-lifers. IVF, as you probably know, harvests and fertilizes a dozen
00:39:12.720 eggs at once, but the woman is only given two of those eggs during implantation. The woman is
00:39:17.300 then given the option for the renaming, or for the remaining, I should say, now embryos to either
00:39:23.660 be donated to science, thrown away, or adopted out. Or frozen, right? Indefinitely, I think,
00:39:29.820 isn't that also an option? The adopted out part caught my interest. Embryo adoption is definitely
00:39:34.520 a thing. It also apparently is way cheaper than IVF. I think $500 instead of $10,000 per cycle as
00:39:40.120 average prices. This seems like a great alternative to IVF instead of just adding to the number of
00:39:45.660 frozen or discarded babies. They even allow for a fee, of course, to know the gender and test for
00:39:50.700 abnormalities or diseases prior to adoption. What are your thoughts on adopting an embryo,
00:39:55.520 and do you think that it's strange that more people haven't heard of this as an option,
00:39:59.120 maybe because it lends itself to the argument that life starts at conception? I mean, if you can tell the
00:40:04.560 baby's gender or genetic makeup before they start growing in the womb, how can they still debate that
00:40:09.840 it's human life? And how do you adopt someone if it's not human life? Thanks for your time.
00:40:15.420 Look forward to hearing your thoughts. So this is a fascinating topic. And as you correctly point
00:40:20.880 out, this is the problem, one of the problems with IVF. You end up with these extra fertilized eggs,
00:40:25.400 which are then frozen, indefinitely, discarded, handed over to a science lab, as you mentioned,
00:40:30.400 or adopted. But this is the most blatant example of the commodification of human life that I can think
00:40:37.240 of, where you have surplus embryos that you now treat like packages of ground beef that you store
00:40:43.260 in the freezer, throw them out when they've been there too long. Yet the fact remains that people
00:40:49.400 do this. And so the embryos are there. And now I think there's something like a million frozen embryos
00:40:57.680 in the country right now, as we speak. And so something has to be done with them. And it would seem to me
00:41:03.820 that adopting them would be a very valid and moral path to explore. The other options are some form
00:41:09.780 of destruction. So it seems obvious to me that adopting them and letting them develop and grow
00:41:16.160 and have a life is the best option. I don't see how someone could argue that destroying them is better
00:41:23.840 than that. Now, so that's what I would say about embryo adoption. I think it's considering, you could
00:41:32.080 argue that, well, this commodification of human life that's happening is a bad thing, a moral atrocity.
00:41:42.180 And so even by adopting the embryos, are you somehow participating in that process, helping to
00:41:47.920 perpetuate it? I guess you could make that argument. I wouldn't find that argument convincing because I
00:41:51.960 don't think you are participating in it. I think you're coming in to rescue these human life from
00:42:00.060 the clutches of destruction. I do think there's another aspect to this question, though.
00:42:07.760 It seems clear to me that the just thing to do to, or rather for an embryo, is to adopt it.
00:42:15.300 But we also have to ask the question, what about the born children, the many born children who are in
00:42:25.860 the adoption system waiting for homes? If you're a couple looking to adopt, if that's an option for
00:42:31.700 you, you have the wherewithal, the will, the money, the resources, everything, and you want to adopt,
00:42:40.540 couldn't an argument be made that you should perhaps focus on the born children who need to
00:42:45.600 be adopted over the embryos? Now, I'm obviously not pulling the old, pro-lifers only care about
00:42:51.080 born children, or don't care about born children. I'm obviously not pulling that card. But I think
00:42:59.060 that it's clear that born children have a capacity for suffering, for longing, for desiring a bond with
00:43:06.040 a family that frozen embryos do not. This doesn't mean that the frozen embryos are unhuman. That's
00:43:13.080 not the argument I'm making, don't get me wrong. But does this factor mean that when deciding which
00:43:19.620 to adopt, our focus ought to be on the child who is actively waiting for a family, and who is really
00:43:26.360 suffering from the want of one? I think a good argument can be made in that direction.
00:43:31.960 Now, there's a lot we don't know about embryos, human embryos. There's a lot that still remains
00:43:40.340 mysterious. But I think we can say with a fair amount of certainty that they don't have the
00:43:48.900 conscious experience that, say, a two-year-old child or three-year-old child or child of any age
00:43:55.780 has in the adoption system. And so when you think about it that way, I think that adds an extra
00:44:04.660 element there. But that isn't to say that couples who adopt embryos are doing something wrong, or
00:44:10.540 that they've committed a moral crime against children who are in the adoption system. I don't
00:44:15.600 think that at all. At the end of the day, you've got to do what's right for your family. I just think
00:44:18.540 that's another factor to weigh. And for me, I know that that is what would stop me from adopting an
00:44:27.280 embryo, because if I was exploring adoption, I probably would be focused on the children who
00:44:34.740 are waiting in the system really suffering and wanting and waiting for a family. All right. But
00:44:41.960 really interesting topic, and I appreciate the email. I guess we'll leave it there. Thanks,
00:44:46.300 everybody, for watching and listening. Godspeed.
