The Matt Walsh Show - Ep. 575 - Biden Is The One Who Needs To Condemn Violent Extremists

00:00:00.000 Today on the Matt Wall Show, the media is breathlessly reporting that Trump refused to

00:00:04.000 condemn white supremacists. In last night's debate, it's a lie. He did condemn them. He's

00:00:08.780 already condemned them. He's condemned them many times. Meanwhile, Joe Biden and the rest of the

00:00:13.200 Democrats have actually never condemned the violent extremists in their midst, like BLM 0.92

00:00:18.360 and Antifa. That's the real outrage, considering that these groups are currently burning down our

00:00:22.820 cities. We'll talk about that. Also, five headlines, including an unintentionally hilarious

00:00:26.540 fact check on a Babylon Bee article. You have to hear this one to really believe it.

00:00:31.280 And in our daily cancellation, we'll cancel the Atlantic for trying to make a scandal out of the

00:00:35.840 fact that Trump allegedly makes fun of televangelists in private. Who doesn't? All of that on the way.

00:00:42.680 First, a word from Duke Cannon. Like a lot of you, you know, I've tried different body washes from the

00:00:48.720 store and I'm always disappointed in them. You know, they're expensive. They often smell too fruity

00:00:52.480 for my taste. And they just, they don't get the job done. But that's why I use Duke Cannon's big

00:00:57.480 ass brick of soap. What else needs to be said about it? I mean, it's, it's a big ass brick of soap. 0.98

00:01:01.720 It's exactly what it claims to be. Very simple to the point. You know, that's what you want as a 0.97

00:01:05.860 man. Now this is part of their Frontier 40 collection. And all of these products have scents

00:01:10.020 that will take you straight into the rugged, untouched wilderness. Each of the four scents in the

00:01:14.580 Frontier 40 campfire, fresh cut pine, leaf, leather, and midnight swim come in a 10 ounce brick that

00:01:22.640 leave you smelling like the best elements mother nature has to offer. And of course, you know,

00:01:27.400 I'm also going to be using Duke Cannon's beard products. It's, it's true scientifically that

00:01:31.800 beards are bulletproof, indestructible. They grant you immortality. All of that's true, but that doesn't

00:01:37.180 mean you don't take care of them. That doesn't mean that you don't need to groom them. That's why I use

00:01:41.480 a Duke Cannon beard oil, beard balm, beard soap, beard wash. Yes. All of them every day. You got

00:01:47.780 a problem with that, but listen, even if you don't have a beard as disgraceful as that is,

00:01:52.580 you should still try the Frontier 40. Um, though it may be tempting to, you know, get off the grid.

00:01:56.760 Let's be honest. We may not have the time instead, satisfy your wanderlust right from the shower with

00:02:02.540 the nature inspired sense of, of the four big ass bricks of soap in the Frontier 40 visit dukecanon.com

00:02:08.840 use promo code WALSH10 for 10% off your next order. Free shipping with orders over $20. A

00:02:14.880 selection of Duke Cannon's products are also available at your local target. So go pick those

00:02:19.280 up now. All right. Now there are many negative, um, but honest headlines you could write about

00:02:24.460 Tuesday night's semi-coherent shouting match between Donald Trump and Joe Biden and Joe Biden's

00:02:30.240 de facto spokesman, Chris Wallace. But the media has settled on a headline ripped straight from their

00:02:36.720 own fever dreams. Um, uh, NPR says from the debate stage, Trump declines to denounce white supremacy.

00:02:44.820 Trump refuses to denounce white supremacy in chaotic debate. According to the New York times,

00:02:49.180 uh, Trump doesn't denounce white supremacists and militias during debate. ABC news insists

00:02:54.500 Politico puts it this way. Trump's jarring white supremacist moment launches an online furor.

00:03:01.040 Even Fox and friends has gotten in on the action. Uh, listen to this. If you're going to say that

00:03:08.080 president Trump was rude, uh, there was only one person who, uh, called the other one, a clown, 0.99

00:03:13.300 a racist, uh, the worst president ever and told to shut up. And that was Joe Biden on Donald Trump. 0.99

00:03:20.840 But Donald Trump drew the biggest layup in the history of debates by saying, not condemning white

00:03:25.900 supremacists. I don't know if he didn't hear it, but he's got to clarify that right away. That's like,

00:03:30.300 are you against evil? Um, why the president didn't just, uh, knocked out of the park,

00:03:34.760 I'm not sure. But none of this is actually true. One need only watch the relevant clip from the

00:03:41.000 debate to see that president Trump did indeed denounce white supremacists. Here it is. Listen

00:03:46.480 for yourself. You have repeatedly criticized the vice president for not specifically calling out

00:03:53.320 Antifa and other left-wing extremist groups. But are you willing tonight to condemn white

00:03:59.680 supremacists and militia groups and to say that they need to stand down and not add to the violence

00:04:07.480 in a number of these cities as we saw in Kenosha and as we've seen in Portland? Are you prepared

00:04:12.580 to specifically do it? I would say, I would say almost everything I see is from the left wing,

00:04:18.140 not from the right wing. So what are you, what are you saying? I'm willing to do anything. I want

00:04:22.660 to see peace. Then do it, sir. Say it. Do it. Say it. Do you want to call them? What do you want

00:04:27.660 to call them? Give me a name. Give me a name. White supremacists and right supremacists and right

00:04:32.240 proud boys. Stand back and stand by. Okay. Let's go through the transcript. Wallace, 0.97

00:04:38.480 you have repeatedly criticized the vice president for not specifically calling out Antifa and other

00:04:42.120 left-wing extremist groups. But are you willing tonight to condemn white supremacists and militia

00:04:46.520 groups and to say that they need to stand down and not add to the violence in a number of these

00:04:50.720 cities as we've seen in Kenosha and we've seen in Portland? Trump, sure, I'm willing to do that.

00:04:56.380 Biden, then do it. Wallace, go ahead, sir. Trump, I would say, I would say almost everything I see

00:05:02.180 is from the left wing, not from the right. Wallace, so what are you saying? Trump, I'm willing to do

00:05:06.980 anything. I want, I want to see peace. Wallace, then do it, sir. Biden, say it. Do it. Say it.

00:05:13.260 Trump, do you want, do you want to call them? What do you want to call them? Give me a name.

00:05:17.640 Give me a name. Go ahead. Who would you like me to condemn? Wallace, white supremacists and right-wing

00:05:22.700 militias. Biden, Proud Boys, Trump. Proud Boys, stand back and stand by. Okay. Now, so you've heard 0.94

00:05:31.220 it. I read the transcript to you. There it is. I may not be the smartest man, okay, but it seems to me

00:05:36.580 that when somebody asks, are you willing to condemn white supremacists and you respond, sure, as in,

00:05:43.340 yes, I condemn them, you have condemned them. Right there. The stand back and stand by comment

00:05:50.780 was weirdly phrased, but this is Trump we're talking about, first of all. And also, it should

00:05:54.600 be obvious to any honest person attempting to parse Trump's words that he meant stand down,

00:06:00.380 which is the phrase that Wallace used. Unfortunately, there aren't very many honest people in the media,

00:06:05.540 so instead, they're pretending to believe that Trump was rallying his white supremacist

00:06:09.400 militia horde and telling them to stand by for the coming invasion. But this is all beside the 0.80

00:06:16.380 point. The problem is the question itself, not the answer. Being asked to condemn white supremacists

00:06:23.940 is like being asked to condemn that you're a pedophile. The point of the question is to create 0.98

00:06:28.880 the association in the audience's mind. By condemning or denying in that context, you are implicitly

00:06:35.460 legitimizing the premise that there is some sort of potential connection between you and the evil

00:06:41.560 thing. Now, it's claimed that Trump must condemn white supremacy because, as Biden has charged in

00:06:47.460 the past, Trump has never once done so. That's flat out untrue. Going back to the infamous Charlottesville

00:06:55.780 rally in 2017, Trump said that he, quote, condemns in the strongest possible terms this egregious display

00:07:02.040 of hatred, bigotry, and violence on many sides. Two days later, he said in a statement,

00:07:07.080 we condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry, and violence.

00:07:11.200 It has no place in America. And as I have said many times before, no matter the color of our skin,

00:07:15.220 we all live under the same laws. We all salute the same great flag. We are all made by the same

00:07:19.860 almighty God. We must love each other, show affection for each other, and unite together in

00:07:24.180 condemnation of hatred, bigotry, and violence. We must rediscover the bonds of love and loyalty that bring

00:07:29.600 us together as Americans. Racism is evil, and those who cause violence in its name are criminals and

00:07:37.280 thugs, including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups that are repugnant to 1.00

00:07:42.420 everything we hold dear as Americans. The next day, in a press conference, we're not done yet, Trump again 0.99

00:07:49.020 emphasized that neo-Nazis and white nationalists, quote, should be condemned totally. Condemned totally. 0.85

00:07:56.300 That's three condemnations in the span of four days. How many times does Trump need to explain

00:08:02.640 that Nazis are bad? Does he have to deliver an address from the Rose Garden every morning to

00:08:08.500 remind us that he still doesn't like racists and Nazis? Hey, by the way, guys, I'm still opposed

00:08:14.340 to Nazis, just letting you know. Okay, have a great Thursday. Meanwhile, Nazis and white supremacists

00:08:20.720 are not the ones who have been rampaging in our streets for months on end. They are not the ones 0.77

00:08:27.920 who've looted and burned and killed and caused billions of dollars of property damage this summer

00:08:33.140 alone. As Trump correctly pointed out, left-wing extremist groups are the real threat we face.

00:08:40.320 And Democrats, including Joe Biden, have not only refused to condemn these dangerous forces,

00:08:45.100 but have explicitly promoted them and supported them. Biden last night came valiantly to Antifa's

00:08:52.020 defense, saying they are an idea, not an organization. Listen.

00:08:56.120 I'll tell you what, somebody's got to do something about Antifa and the left,

00:09:00.300 because this is not a right-wing problem. This is a left-wing.

00:09:03.660 His own FBI director said-

00:09:04.300 This is a left-wing problem.

00:09:05.920 I'm a white supremacist. Antifa's an idea, not an organization.

00:09:09.740 Oh, you got to be kidding me.

00:09:10.760 Not militia. That's what his FBI, his FBI director said.

00:09:15.460 Well, then you know what? No, no, no. We're done, sir.

00:09:17.540 And if Democrats are reluctant to condemn Antifa, as Biden clearly was there, we can be sure that

00:09:24.820 they will never and have never whispered a single word of criticism, however mild, towards Black Lives

00:09:30.860 Matter, a radical, racist, Marxist extremist group, which seeks to destroy the nuclear family,

00:09:36.800 to get rid of the police, among other stated goals, and whose leaders openly encourage looting 0.96

00:09:41.000 and violence. No group in recent history has damaged this country, physically and in every

00:09:45.920 other sense, to the same degree as BLM. Three years after the fact, you know, the media still

00:09:51.420 hasn't gotten over Trump's very fine people phrasing, which they are willfully misinterpreting.

00:09:57.160 For months, though, Democrats have been telling us that there are very fine people among the

00:10:01.260 rioters, looters, and murderers in the BLM Antifa mob. Indeed, listening to them tell it,

00:10:06.800 they're all fine people fighting for truth and justice by burning down their local convenience

00:10:11.560 store and beating random pedestrians half to death. They are the ones who should be issuing 1.00

00:10:17.140 condemnations, but they will never be forced to condemn, nor asked why they are not condemning.

00:10:24.100 That's the advantage of having nearly all of the mainstream media on your side, which we saw,

00:10:29.920 again, starkly illustrated last night. Let's get to our five headlines.

00:10:36.800 You know, I've been telling you about rockauto.com for a long time. That's because I'm trying to

00:10:47.340 save you money, save you money on time. Well, I'm not. I mean, they are. I guess I can't really

00:10:51.780 take credit for it, but there's just no reason to go to the auto body store and spend hours on that,

00:10:59.260 you know, task, that errand when you consider you got to get in the car, drive there, walk around

00:11:05.160 the store, do all that. No reason to do it when you've got rockauto.com. It's so much easier than

00:11:10.440 walking into a store, so much easier than going to a mechanic. Also going to be a lot cheaper.

00:11:14.900 You just go to rockauto.com. They always have the lowest prices possible. They're not going to change

00:11:19.440 the prices. They're not going to, you know, figure out how much they think they can

00:11:23.080 milk you for and then go for that. No, they're going to give you the lowest prices they possibly

00:11:28.800 can. Rockauto.com, look, they're a friendly business, honest business. They've been serving

00:11:32.260 auto parts customers online for 20 years. Go to rockauto.com right now to shop for auto and body

00:11:37.820 parts from hundreds of manufacturers. Best of all, prices at rockauto.com are reliably low.

00:11:42.980 They're the same for professionals, same for do-it-yourselfers, and there's just no reason to spend twice

00:11:47.880 as much for the same parts. Twice as much for the same parts or twice as much for not even the

00:11:52.960 part you're really looking for. The rockauto.com catalog is unique and remarkably easy to navigate.

00:11:57.920 You can quickly see all the parts available for your vehicle and choose the brand, specifications,

00:12:02.780 prices that are right for you. And, you know, what I like about the website is it's very,

00:12:07.400 very easily organized, so you don't need to be an expert to find your way around it and find what

00:12:12.240 you're looking for. Go to rockauto.com right now, see all the parts available for your car or truck,

00:12:16.640 write Walsh in their how-did-you-hear-about-us box so that they know that we sent you.

00:12:20.540 All right. Now, Kamala Harris this week went to pay her respects to Ruth Bader Ginsburg and

00:12:26.940 afterwards decided to solemnly and very respectfully use Ginsburg's death for political gain,

00:12:32.980 as is the tradition in Washington, very sacred tradition. Listen to this.

00:12:37.740 We are about to undertake the task of finding her replacement on the United States Supreme Court.

00:12:45.340 Of course, it's hard to say those words. In truth, Ruth Bader Ginsburg cannot be replaced.

00:12:54.620 She was an original, a one-of-a-kind. She combined a steel spine with an ability to extend an open hand, 1.00

00:13:05.220 never a closed fist. She demonstrated you could both hold firm to your principles

00:13:13.460 and still hear those with whom you disagree. That is a lesson that should be ringing in our ears.

00:13:23.460 But it looks like this president and his party are not interested in hearing any of the lessons

00:13:29.940 from Justice Ginsburg. Already, the president and his party have chosen to ignore Justice Ginsburg's final wish

00:13:37.780 to hold off the nomination to replace her until after the next president is chosen.

00:13:46.660 A wish, by the way, shared by the American people. 1.00

00:13:50.800 This talking point, I mean, my God, it is so stupid. It's beyond the bounds of normal stupid. 1.00

00:13:56.260 And they're still going with it. They're going to run this thing. They're going to run with it, 1.00

00:13:59.680 this final wish gambit all the way through. There is no final wish clause of the Constitution.

00:14:05.160 I don't know how many times we have to explain this. The Supreme Court is not the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

00:14:08.820 Final wishes are constitutionally irrelevant.

00:14:11.380 relevant. So it could not be less relevant than it is. The Supreme Court seats are not bequeathed

00:14:19.640 to an heir. You can't leave them in your will, right? So it's not going to be,

00:14:23.540 yeah, grandma left you the jewelry box and, oh, look at that, a Supreme Court seat. 0.90

00:14:29.240 Congratulations. No, that's not how this works. So just what a monumentally stupid thing. Good Lord.

00:14:35.080 Okay. Speaking of monumentally stupid things, number two, this is real, amazingly. USA Today ran a fact 0.99

00:14:40.440 check on a Babylon Bee article, the Babylon Bee article, which said that the Ninth Circuit Court

00:14:45.720 of Appeals overturned the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Now they overturned

00:14:51.480 her death. USA Today did some research on this, ran down some leads, hit the pavement, you know,

00:14:57.040 and they concluded it's probably not true. So this is the USA Today article. It says the claim,

00:15:02.980 the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals overturned the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

00:15:06.420 The headline of an article published by satire website, the Babylon Bee, is a nod to the contentious

00:15:11.200 history between the Trump administration and the U.S. Court of Appeals. The Babylon Bee is the

00:15:15.140 world's best satire site, according to its website. Supreme Court Justice Ginsburg, who died of pancreatic

00:15:20.060 cancer September 18th, is actually alive, the article suggests, because the Ninth Circuit overturned her 0.90

00:15:24.620 death. In a close decision, the judges on the court have ruled RBG's death unconstitutional and

00:15:31.220 will block Trump from nominating a replacement, the article says. Ninth Circuit Judge Kim McClain

00:15:36.800 Wardlaw was credited with issuing the ruling on the basis that Ginsburg's death was an affront to

00:15:41.360 the Constitution. And then it goes on from there, and it finally gets to the verdict. There is no

00:15:49.260 record of any Wardlaw opinion on Ginsburg's death on the website of the Ninth Circuit, but they actually

00:15:54.620 looked it up on the website. They looked this up on the website to see if this really happened.

00:15:57.980 But she participated in a panel discussion Friday about Ginsburg's life produced by the UCLA Law

00:16:02.460 School. There was no mention of reviving Ginsburg during the discussion. Okay, now, if I wanted to

00:16:10.120 try really hard to defend USA Today here, I'm not sure why I would want to do that. But if I did,

00:16:15.660 I might say that, well, you know what? Some people in this country are really, really stupid. And so 1.00

00:16:21.600 there may be people who are dumb enough to read that Bee article and not understand that it's satire. 1.00

00:16:27.980 So maybe this is a reflection of America's stupidity, not USA Today's. But I can't let 1.00

00:16:32.680 them off the hook that easily. I think it's a combination of both factors. Because, first of

00:16:36.840 all, anyone who's dumb enough to believe that a court overturned a woman's death isn't going to 0.97

00:16:43.100 have the wherewithal to then go and research the claim, right? Like a person that dumb isn't going to 1.00

00:16:48.360 go, hmm, let me cross-check this claim and see if it's reported in any reputable sources. No, 0.97

00:16:54.540 that's just, they're just going to read it, go, uh, okay. And then stuff another Cheeto into their

00:17:02.320 mouth and keeps scrolling. That's what's going to happen. So unfortunately, USA Today still must be

00:17:08.240 blamed for this stupidity. Number three, the New York Post headline, nearly 70% of Americans say 1.00

00:17:13.640 they're done with coffee shops after becoming at-home baristas. It says half of Americans have become

00:17:19.740 quaristas during 2020. Quaristas, like quarantine baristas. Um, okay, first of all, just,

00:17:28.460 we got to stop right there. If you have ever called yourself a quarista, 0.67

00:17:34.060 that is an automatic eviction from the human race. I'm not saying you should be executed. 0.97

00:17:41.240 I'm not not saying that. Mainly, I'm just saying you can't be a human anymore. We don't want you in 0.99

00:17:46.060 the human race. You can pick another species. You know, maybe see if the llamas will take you. I 0.98

00:17:50.940 don't know. Uh, anyway, a survey of 2000 coffee drinkers revealed 49% of respondents have become

00:17:57.560 at-home baristas during quarantine, using their time and side to develop their coffee-making skills.

00:18:01.720 Two-thirds of those have so much faith in their newfound talent, they plan to continue using their

00:18:05.780 barista knowledge to make coffee in their own kitchen, even once the pandemic is over. Okay,

00:18:10.580 listen, making coffee at home. We used to just call that making coffee at home. You're not an at-home

00:18:18.240 barista now that you turn the coffee pot on. That's not, am I an at-home mechanical engineer

00:18:24.800 because I changed the batteries in my remote? Um, no, come on. Number four, the Daily Wire, uh,

00:18:31.660 let's see. Daily Wire says actor Jason Isaacs, the man who previously called Ivanka Trump a brainless 0.96

00:18:38.280 Barbie, um, said that, uh, non-mask wearer should be hanging in the streets or in prison.

00:18:47.100 Speaking of the British daytime chats, speaking on the British daytime chat show, Lorraine, uh,

00:18:52.480 Isaac said that he is actually less annoyed by non-mask wearers than he is by people who don't 0.99

00:18:57.220 wear them properly, adding that non-mask wearers should be in prison or executed. Wow. You know, 0.99

00:19:05.020 maybe I can't judge him for threatening to have people executed for superfluous reasons. Um,

00:19:09.600 I do that like 14 times a show. I just did it a second ago actually, but it's different when I do

00:19:15.980 it. You know, that, that's my thing, right? That's my being in, being an enraged lunatic is my whole

00:19:23.120 deal. And everyone knows that if something is your whole deal, then it's okay. That's, that's the rule.

00:19:28.200 Everyone knows that that's, that's the old excuse. And it's a good one. I think, you know,

00:19:31.460 if you're, if you're just like a jerk to everybody all the time, then whenever anyone accuses you of 1.00

00:19:36.640 being a jerk, someone else can go, Oh, that's, he's just being himself. As if the fact that you're 1.00

00:19:42.400 horrible a lot makes it okay. If you're only horrible, sometimes it's not, but if you're, 0.95

00:19:47.200 if you're that way all the time, you know, you're consistent about it, then it's okay.

00:19:50.680 Um, anyway, this is obviously overblown. And if we're going to be doling out harsh mask related

00:19:55.800 penalties, um, I'd rather dole them out on the other direction. Like I took my kids to the beach

00:20:00.280 a couple of days over the weekend. I took my kids to the beach, uh, all four kids by myself to the

00:20:05.180 beach, by the way, um, kids seven and younger. Uh, I took, I don't, I don't know why I decided to do

00:20:10.080 this, but we had to get them out of the house. Cause my wife was getting the, getting the house 1.00

00:20:13.120 ready to sell staging and everything. And, um, anyway, I took the kids to the beach, but I couldn't

00:20:19.720 help but notice, even though I'm, I'm distracted by trying to keep track of all the, all the kids,

00:20:23.460 I can still take the time to be annoyed and angry by things. Uh, that's my special skill and the people

00:20:29.380 on the beach or near the beach, like walking on the boardwalk wearing masks. Okay. Um, that if,

00:20:35.100 if there's going to be penalties, if I was in charge, the penalty would be for that because 0.94

00:20:38.540 you look ridiculous and there's absolutely no reason to do that. You're at the beach. Okay. 0.99

00:20:43.700 You really, rather than breathing in that nice, fresh ocean air, you're going to breathe in your

00:20:49.300 own fumes. You really think that's healthier for you? Really? Number five, finally, here's an article

00:20:55.120 that escaped my attention a year ago. Um, but I just saw it now cause making the rounds again online,

00:20:59.860 telling us of a certain group that I'm guessing probably with COVID has been on hiatus. So if

00:21:05.000 you're looking to join the group, you'll probably have to wait, but these people exist and they're

00:21:08.980 out there. Um, it is, uh, here's, here's what it says from the inquirer.com. It says twice a month,

00:21:14.480 half a dozen men gather in Plymouth meeting, uh, in a, in a Plymouth meeting to help each other

00:21:19.980 work through past traumas. Their chosen method of healing cuddles. It may seem odd, but members of

00:21:26.240 the men's therapeutic cuddle group say the practice has helped them cope with everything

00:21:31.260 from childhood sexual abuse to the loss of family members. When they were young, the two-year-old

00:21:35.420 group, uh, draws men from various backgrounds, a 37 year old Mormon, 57 year old married father of

00:21:41.520 three, a 60, 62 year old retiree. There's a range of sexual orientations at a time when traditional

00:21:48.160 ideas of manhood are facing scrutiny and such terms as toxic masculinity are becoming widely

00:21:53.360 known. Uh, the group aims to provide new ways for men to express themselves. Unlike professional

00:21:59.720 cuddling services, which is a thing, professional cuddling services, the group charges no fees.

00:22:07.380 That's good. And members are not required to undergo training. Can you get a degree in cuddling?

00:22:14.780 I bet you can. I bet you can. Although the meetups are not open to the public, uh, the group held a

00:22:21.460 demonstration for the inquirer at the beginning of the session, everyone agreed not to engage in

00:22:26.800 sexual touch and to ask for consent before each action. They gathered in a huddle and, and breathed

00:22:33.100 meditatively. The cuddling started with men pairing up to do the motorcycle hold.

00:22:38.580 This sounds horrifying already, uh, in what, in which one man sits with his back against another

00:22:46.180 man's chest as if they were riding together on a motorcycle. Some massage their parent, their, 0.53

00:22:53.520 their partner's, uh, uh, shoulders or, or hands while others stroked the other person's beard.

00:22:59.480 Many closed, stroke the other person's beard. Many closed their eyes as the room fell into silence.

00:23:08.840 After 15 minutes, they switched to a new partner. For the second half of the session, the men cuddled

00:23:13.640 as one large group in what they call a puppy pile. Men lay with their heads in each other's laps,

00:23:20.520 chatted and joked. Oh my God in heaven. God help us. God help us all. And you know, you know,

00:23:30.580 you know, all these dudes use emojis. Okay. So I, you know, I'm right about this.

00:23:36.720 I don't know. Do I need to spell out the issues here? Do I need to, what you find here actually

00:23:42.260 illustrated in, in very disturbing and graphic detail, um, is, is this fundamental misunderstanding

00:23:47.020 on the left about masculinity and femininity? And they think, oh, well, you know, we just have to

00:23:52.520 tear down the artifice of masculinity. We have to, the artificial construct of masculinity. We have to

00:23:56.900 tear down, um, because that's the only reason that dudes don't cuddle. They really want to deep down,

00:24:03.700 but they don't because they're worried that society will frown on, you know, frown upon it. No, no. See,

00:24:09.020 that's not it. Yes. Society will frown upon it and should, but that's not the point. Society could give

00:24:16.800 the puppy pile filled with dudes a big thumbs up and I still would decline because the whole reason

00:24:23.080 we don't associate men with cuddling isn't that men don't cuddle because we don't associate them

00:24:29.240 with it. It's that we, it's, it's that we, we don't associate them with it because they don't do it.

00:24:34.540 Okay. For the most part, there is something deeply ingrained, naturally ingrained in our,

00:24:39.280 in our masculine nature that makes us far less touchy feely than women. There are exceptions. 1.00

00:24:44.540 Sometimes those exceptions take horrific form like this, but you're never going to build a society

00:24:50.020 of cuddling men because most men don't have that in them. Thank God. So we will continue to confine

00:24:57.100 ourselves to handshakes, fist bumps, um, the off awkward sort of half handshake, half hug thing,

00:25:06.540 or my specialty is the series of aborted greetings that you, that you get when, you know, there's two

00:25:13.680 guys that don't know how the other likes to greet. And so you get the kind of going in for the

00:25:18.420 handshake, the kind of handshake. And then it looks like they're going for a hug and then you

00:25:22.120 back up and then it's just kind of, and you're, you know, it's like you're a video game sort of like

00:25:26.300 freezing. Um, that's my move. My move, in other words, is to make everyone feel a lot less

00:25:33.340 comfortable than they did before I entered the room, but they're still a lot more comfortable than

00:25:39.720 they would be if I walked into the room and asked who's up for a good cuddle. Uh, I think that would

00:25:46.820 make it far less comfortable, I think. All right, we're going to get to our daily cancellation in

00:25:52.740 just a second. Um, but first, you know, we've been telling you about Helix sleep. When you don't get

00:26:09.100 night's sleep. And there's a lot of people in America don't get good night's sleep. And the

00:27:52.660 cancellation. Today for our daily cancellation, we're canceling the Atlantic for the latest and

00:27:57.140 perhaps most pitiful media generated Trump scandal. One that will likely have the same impact on the

00:28:02.500 president's president, you know, political fortunes as the stunning revelation that he doesn't pay

00:28:07.140 more income tax than he owes this time. It's the Atlantic's McKay coppins claiming that Trump mocks

00:28:13.760 his Christian supporters behind their backs and speaks with quote, cynicism and contempt about

00:28:18.340 religion. And this would be mostly irrelevant, even if it was true, as I'll explain in a minute,

00:28:23.420 but the specific examples provided in the article don't live up to the headlines hype. As usual,

00:28:29.160 we are first regaled with a tale of Trump mocking millionaire prosperity preacher Creflo Dollar

00:28:35.040 after the pastor tried to raise $60 million for a private jet. Trump allegedly called it a scam,

00:28:41.260 said that Dollar is full of crap, and then added, they're all hustlers. Now we aren't told who the 1.00

00:28:48.720 all is in that context, but it seems safe to conclude that he was referring to the sorts of

00:28:52.340 preachers who fly around on private jets. Assuming that, you know, disgraced and currently imprisoned

00:28:57.940 Michael Cohen, the source of this anecdote, can be trusted here, which is a dubious assumption to

00:29:02.360 say the least, there's nothing objectionable about any of this. Creflo Dollar is indeed a hustler who

00:29:09.420 is indeed full of crap. I think I can speak for a great many Christians in America, except those 1.00

00:29:15.060 credulous saps who actually donated to the private jet fundraiser, and say that we agree with Trump's

00:29:21.080 assessment. Though some of us would maybe phrase it in not exactly the same way. I mean, I would put

00:29:27.560 it the same way, but a lot of Christians wouldn't. Another bombshell follows, quoting from The Atlantic 1.00

00:29:32.180 here, the former campaign advisor recalled showing his boss a YouTube video of the Israeli televangelist

00:29:38.340 Benny Hinn performing faith healings while Trump laughed at the spectacle and muttered,

00:29:42.680 man, that's some racket. On another occasion, the advisor told me, Trump expressed awe at Joel Osteen's

00:29:48.840 media empire, particularly the viewership of his televised sermons. Now, our source in this case

00:29:53.660 is an ex-White House official who is speaking on the condition of anonymity. The track record of this

00:29:59.640 ex-White House official group has, of course, been less than admirable. But even again, taking the

00:30:05.740 supposed recollections at face value, there is little here that the average conservative Christian

00:30:11.060 would disagree with. Televised faith healing is a racket, and also a ridiculous spectacle to behold. 0.94

00:30:18.820 Now, personally, I find myself more recoiling in revulsion than laughing when I see frauds like 0.91

00:30:23.620 Benny Hinn in action. But, you know, laughter is probably a better, well, certainly emotionally

00:30:28.360 healthier reaction. Now, things do get a little bit edgier with the next alleged revelation. Again,

00:30:34.860 this is from The Atlantic. It says, in Cohen's recent memoir, Disloyal, he recounts Trump returning

00:30:40.420 from his 2011 meeting with pastors who laid hands on him and sneering, can you believe that bullcrap? 0.82

00:30:48.860 But if Trump found their rituals ridiculous, he followed their money-making ventures closely.

00:30:53.220 He was completely familiar with the business dealings of the leadership in many prosperity

00:30:58.580 gospel churches, the advisor told me. Now, okay, that is probably not how most Christians would 0.68

00:31:04.040 respond in a similar situation. And it may not be how Trump responded, given that we're getting this

00:31:08.900 again from an incarcerated felon, but not all Christians are comfortable with having hands

00:31:14.200 ritualistically laid on them in prayer. Count me among that group, in fact. I generally prefer not to

00:31:20.440 have strangers touch me at all for any reason. Your prayers are just as powerful without physical

00:31:25.900 contact, thank you. You don't need to put your hands on me. Now, later on in the article, it's claimed that

00:31:30.380 Trump also made some relatively tame jokes about Mormons, Jewish people, other faith groups.

00:31:36.340 You know, we're never given any examples of him specifically mocking his Christian supporters,

00:31:40.880 as the headline declared. But none of this stuff matters anyway. The media has never been able to

00:31:46.520 understand Trump's support among faithful Christians, and their lack of understanding has

00:31:51.000 rendered useless their attempts at chipping away at it. Now, there may be a small minority of Christians 0.99

00:31:56.960 who, you know, for some reason actually believe that Trump is a deeply spiritual man. But most would

00:32:04.100 not be surprised to hear A.J. Delgado in The Atlantic describing him as, quote, not a religious guy.

00:32:11.220 That's not a problem, because Christians are not turning to Trump for spiritual leadership

00:32:15.700 or exegetical enlightenment. They probably would not want him to lead their Bible studies or take over

00:32:22.140 the pastoral duties at their church. The point has always been policy. Trump has not advanced any

00:32:29.220 policies that assault religious liberty or undermine the sanctity of life. On the contrary, his administration

00:32:34.680 has fought for policies that protect both religious liberty and the sanctity of life. It's that simple.

00:32:41.240 His personal religious views are irrelevant. Now, contrast that with a man like Joe Biden, who describes himself as

00:32:47.240 devout and yet supports the butchery of unborn children, and believes that nuns should be legally 0.98

00:32:53.060 forced to purchase contraception. Why don't conservative Christians line up behind Biden? Well, he's an old

00:32:58.480 white guy too, so writing us off as racist or bigoted won't be sufficient in this case. We don't like Biden

00:33:05.160 because we find his policies to be morally appalling and in direct contradiction to Christian teaching.

00:33:11.600 Whatever he personally believes, however often he prays, however much he goes to church, none of that

00:33:19.280 mitigates the many terrible things he wishes to do with the power of the presidency, should it be granted

00:33:26.180 to him. That's what all this comes down to. It's not so hard to understand. And for that, the Atlantic is

00:33:34.820 canceled. And everyone in media who doesn't understand this basic concept is canceled.

00:33:40.380 And I am canceled too, just for the rest of the week, actually, until Tuesday, because I'm taking

00:33:44.700 off a few days. So that's going to do it for me, for the week. I'll see you guys back here on Tuesday.

00:33:50.140 Have a great week. Godspeed.
