The Matt Walsh Show - Ep. 756 - You Can't Defeat The Left By Surrendering Moral Truth

00:00:00.000 Today on The Matt Wall Show, a hardcore porn star gets booted from an event for conservative teens, 0.92

00:00:05.460 and many conservatives have a problem with this for a variety of ludicrous reasons. We'll discuss

00:00:10.080 also five headlines. Protests once again turn violent at Wii Spa in Los Angeles when Antifa

00:00:15.080 shows up to defend a man's right to disrobe in the women's locker room. Also, CNN gets called

00:00:20.340 out live on the air by a CNN guest, and it's pretty glorious. We'll play that for you.

00:00:24.180 And Kamala Harris says it is your biblical duty to get vaccinated. Plus, in our daily cancellation,

00:00:28.680 we'll talk about the ever-growing, inappropriately named child-free movement. Child-free movement,

00:00:34.620 they call it. All of that and more today on The Matt Wall Show.

00:00:46.620 Before we get started here today, I want to tell you very important information about our sponsor,

00:00:52.180 Relief Band. You know, I have struggled with motion sickness, car sickness my entire life. I can think

00:00:57.400 back to being a kid, you know, sitting in the back of the van on long car trips, vacations,

00:01:02.400 couple of occasions, vomiting all over the place. The whole van reeks of vomit. This is more

00:01:08.380 information than you need. And if it's making you nauseous hearing all this information, that's why

00:01:13.040 you need Relief Band. Relief Band is the number one FDA-cleared anti-nausea wristband that's been

00:01:17.520 clinically proven to quickly relieve and effectively prevent nausea and vomiting associated with motion

00:02:05.160 for 20% off. You know, if I wanted to demonstrate the dire state of conservatism today, I would probably

00:02:12.540 need to only point to this one fact. There is a woman who calls herself a conservative porn star, 1.00

00:02:19.160 and she has legions of quote-unquote conservative fans, including prominent conservatives in media.

00:02:25.280 Brandy Love is her name. She's 48 years old, somehow making the whole thing even more embarrassing and 0.72

00:02:29.680 pathetic. And along with posting hardcore porn online, including on Twitter, where users as young 0.98

00:02:35.380 as 13 can easily access it, she's also fashioned herself as a champion of the conservative cause,

00:02:41.380 in which role she has authored a few editorials that have been published by The Federalist.

00:02:47.380 I don't know. I'm not aware of any other conservative activism she's done, but there's that.

00:02:52.460 Now, I was unaware of this person's existence, blissfully so, I might add, until this past weekend

00:02:57.320 when controversy was ignited by Brandy Love's attendance at Turning Point USA's Student Action 0.80

00:03:03.760 Summit, TPUSA. That's Charlie Kirk's organization. And this is their conference that they do every year

00:03:10.260 for students. That's why they call it the Student Action Summit, right there in the name.

00:03:15.320 Now, Love, a real name Tracy Livermore, initially showed up at the conference for conservative high

00:03:23.080 school and college students with a VIP badge. The impression that this gave, of course,

00:03:28.360 and the way it was reported on social media and by some outlets like Newsweek,

00:03:32.260 is that she was specifically invited or welcomed by TPUSA, and that's why she had the VIP badge.

00:03:39.380 Now, that wasn't the case. She purchased the VIP ticket, showed up on her own accord,

00:03:43.980 and began posting to her Twitter page. In between photos of her genitals and so forth, 0.97

00:03:49.560 there were also pictures of her walking around the event, posing in front of Fox News banners, 0.81

00:03:53.980 and expressing her enjoyment at being around so many, quote, young conservatives.

00:03:58.240 TPUSA, however, did not enjoy having her as much as she enjoyed being there. Once the event

00:04:05.540 organizers realized who she was and what she did and why she was there, they kindly asked her to

00:04:11.160 leave. And this is how they explained that decision to Newsweek. This is what they said,

00:04:15.560 quote, Turning Point USA, this is according to the TPUSA spokesman, Turning Point USA did not block

00:04:22.660 Miss Love from its student event because of backlash. TPUSA did so in keeping with its standard operating

00:04:27.620 procedures to not involve porn brands, influencers, or personalities that post or publish sexually

00:04:33.440 explicit and pornographic content. A few concerned parents rightly alerted us to the extremely

00:04:38.240 pornographic nature of her social media posts, and event leadership immediately took the appropriate 0.89

00:04:42.960 steps in keeping with the best interests of the minors present at the event. Furthermore, Miss Love

00:04:48.040 purchased an adult VIP ticket. She was not invited, nor was her attendance somehow requested by the

00:04:52.760 organization. The bottom line is that it is simply not appropriate for a porn star to be actively

00:04:57.760 posting images at an event with 15 and 16 year olds present in conjunction with graphic pornography.

00:05:03.340 TPUSA makes no apology for this, a position which should not be controversial, especially when minors are

00:05:08.040 involved. Parents deserve this type of assurance, and TPUSA intends on giving them that confidence.

00:05:13.520 Any controversy is purely contrived. All right, that's the whole statement.

00:05:17.440 Everything that you just heard there could not possibly be more reasonable. They're holding an

00:05:26.220 event for conservative teenagers. They don't wish to welcome a VIP guest who is actively in the

00:05:31.820 hardcore porn business and who will post images of herself at the event alongside images of her vagina. 1.00

00:05:38.800 They also don't wish to become a forum for a cyber prostitute, which is what a porn star is, 0.99

00:05:44.320 to directly promote her business to minors or to anyone else at their event. 0.86

00:05:50.400 This is, again, a conservative conference for students. Tracy Livermore put them in an

00:05:56.280 uncomfortable position by choosing to show up without any warning, without asking, without

00:06:00.540 checking with them first. And the embarrassment of getting kicked out on her ass is therefore her 1.00

00:06:05.340 own fault. You don't even have to be anti-porn to understand the basic concept here and to recognize 1.00

00:06:11.640 who the bad guy in the situation is. But many on the right have struggled to understand this.

00:06:18.800 Although Livermore is clearly 100% to blame, and TPUSA did absolutely nothing wrong and conducted

00:06:25.260 itself well in this case, still so many conservatives felt otherwise. The organization is being attacked

00:06:31.420 today from the right for daring to make a 48-year-old hardcore porn star feel unwelcome at their event

00:06:38.060 for conservative teens. Prominent conservatives have jumped on the dogpile as well. Ben Dominish,

00:06:44.140 who's the co-founder of The Federalist, he's also the husband of Meghan McCain, he tweeted,

00:06:49.420 quote, I'm disappointed that TPUSA kicked out Brandi Love for no reason whatsoever. She's a Florida 1.00

00:06:55.280 conservative businesswoman who loves America. The right has an opportunity to be the big tent party. 1.00

00:07:02.540 Don't be a bunch of prudes. Businesswoman doing a lot of work in that sentence, I think. Nick Searcy,

00:07:10.480 who's a conservative actor with a large following, also defended Livermore, arguing that you aren't

00:07:14.960 being like Jesus if you agree with TPUSA on its decision. Apparently, Jesus thinks that 48-year-old

00:07:20.760 hardcore porn stars should totally be VIP guests at conferences for teenagers. At least we should say

00:07:27.200 Nick has made that assumption about Jesus Christ and is comfortable putting those words into his mouth.

00:07:32.540 These arguments were echoed on social media by many on the right, including Livermore herself,

00:07:38.480 where she spent the following day or two painting herself as the victim, complaining about how she

00:07:44.440 was treated, quoting the Bible in her own defense, and arguing that conservatives who oppose pornography 1.00

00:07:52.140 or the attendance of a pornographer at a conservative student conference are jackasses, fools, prudes, 1.00

00:07:57.760 etc. She also posted more pictures of her genitals. So in between quoting the Bible, she's posting 1.00

00:08:03.620 pictures of her genitals. No problem there. Now, let's try to sort through this and inject a little 0.99

00:08:10.720 bit of sanity into the proceedings if we can. And to that end, a few points I think need to be made.

00:08:16.440 Number one. To reiterate, just considering the business and PR concerns here alone, it is perfectly

00:08:27.120 understandable that a conservative activist group that works with minors would not want a woman with

00:08:32.620 her porn star stage name on her VIP pass walking around the place taking pictures and meeting, quote,

00:08:38.820 fans. If Livermore had any respect for anyone and cared about anything or anyone but herself, she would have

00:08:46.360 contacted TPUSA ahead of time, anticipating the uncomfortable position she might be putting them in, and

00:08:51.780 asked them if she could attend. She didn't take this step. And the fact that she didn't only proves that

00:08:59.120 she couldn't care less how her presence impacts the event or the organization that's holding it, which is just one

00:09:04.200 more reason why that organization has no obligation to let her stay. Here's a basic concept. If you choose

00:09:11.600 to make your living by having sex on camera and posting pictures of your genitals on social media, 0.96

00:09:18.540 if that's how you choose, that's what you choose to do, you can't be offended when people don't want to 0.97

00:09:23.520 be associated with you. It's not as though you were born a porn star. This isn't a genetic defect. 0.83

00:09:30.320 It's not a biological identity. It's not your race or your ethnicity. No, I'm being discriminated

00:09:36.440 against. No, people are reacting to your choices, sweetheart. You also aren't a desperate, poor,

00:09:44.620 sex-trafficked 18-year-old. You're a 48-year-old woman who has chosen to make a lot of money this way. 1.00

00:09:50.420 Doing very well for yourself. You may say you have the right to prostitute yourself online for money, 0.98

00:09:56.660 and you do legally, according to our laws at the moment. But people and organizations also have

00:10:03.500 the right to not want to associate with you. That doesn't make you a victim. Grow up.

00:10:11.100 Number two, this all bleeds, I think, into a broader conversation about conservatism and what it stands

00:10:16.760 for or doesn't stand for. And as this incident demonstrates, though we knew this already,

00:10:23.060 there are some conservatives, many, I think, who think that conservatism should embrace

00:10:29.180 and defend the normalization of hardcore pornography. To a lot of conservatives today,

00:10:36.480 if you, not only should you defend hardcore pornography, but it's like absurd if you don't. 0.77

00:10:42.160 It's ridiculous not to. You're just a prude. In fact, if you don't think that a hardcore porn star 1.00

00:10:48.220 should be at an event for conservative 16-year-olds, you're a prude, according to conservatives. 0.82

00:10:57.400 They don't think that being conservative should necessarily mean that, you know, we have to be 0.53

00:11:01.980 critics of the porn industry or even of a porn star showing up at an event like this. Of course,

00:11:06.460 40 years ago, this would not have been a discussion. You wouldn't have been able to find

00:11:13.140 any self-proclaimed conservative anywhere who would defend hardcore porn in principle as a thing fully

00:11:19.680 in keeping with conservative values. As just a legitimate form of business, that's all.

00:11:27.180 Now, many conservatives will do just that because the left has shifted the whole culture in its

00:11:32.100 direction so thoroughly and dramatically that conservatives will adopt radically leftist positions

00:11:37.420 while imagining that they're opposing the left in the process. You might compare it, I guess,

00:11:44.060 to the situation encountered by early Arctic explorers attempting to reach the North Pole. They

00:11:50.340 would walk for miles imagining that they're going north, but the ice beneath them was drifting south.

00:11:57.180 So they were going one way while the ground they stood on went the other. Well, in our culture,

00:12:03.140 the ground we stand on, stand on drifts ever left, which means that if your version of being right

00:12:09.100 wing is simply to be slightly to the right of what qualifies right now as left wing, then you will at

00:12:16.200 best be the right wing of the left wing, which is what a lot of the people on the right really are.

00:12:22.860 They are the right wing of America's left wing.

00:12:29.200 That's why you got to be philosophically and ideologically grounded in something deeper.

00:12:36.960 If your grounding doesn't go any deeper than the ice you're standing on,

00:12:44.820 then when that whole chunk is shifting, you're shifting along with it,

00:12:48.140 along with the cultural tide.

00:12:54.680 All of the conservatives who imagine that they're conserving something

00:12:58.920 while embracing what would have been considered radical by the left 20 years ago

00:13:05.540 are evidence of this problem.

00:13:09.340 Here's the point.

00:13:11.520 The normalization of sexual degeneracy

00:13:13.740 is a leftist position.

00:13:19.320 And in fact, I'll amend that a little bit.

00:13:22.340 It's not only a leftist position.

00:13:25.020 It is, in fact, the principal leftist position.

00:13:29.680 It's the main thing that they're trying to do.

00:13:34.160 It's the primary thing that animates them.

00:13:39.520 It's the normalization of sexual degeneracy. 0.93

00:13:41.740 But you cannot fight leftists while embracing their primary foundational doctrine.

00:13:51.840 You're agreeing with them on the thing that they consider to be the most important thing,

00:13:57.480 which is the normalization of sexual degeneracy.

00:14:01.080 And the idea that, you know, sexually you should be able to do whatever you want

00:14:06.500 and live however you want.

00:14:07.900 And not only should you be able to, but it should be celebrated and accepted by everyone.

00:14:15.180 You cannot fight the left.

00:14:17.780 You can't really stand for anything, least of all freedom,

00:14:20.500 or whatever you think you're standing for,

00:14:21.840 if you've abandoned moral truth.

00:14:27.560 If conservatism seeks to conserve anything,

00:14:30.460 that's what it has to conserve, right?

00:14:33.140 First and foremost.

00:14:34.700 Truth of all kinds.

00:14:36.700 Moral truth included.

00:14:39.360 And biological truth, we should know.

00:14:41.260 But when you look at what's happened in conservatism,

00:14:45.880 even just over the last couple of months,

00:14:47.420 we've had self-proclaimed conservatives embracing Caitlyn Jenner

00:14:52.300 and self-proclaimed conservatives, a lot of them the same ones, 0.90

00:14:57.780 now saying, oh yeah, have hardcore porn stars at the conservative events. 0.79

00:15:01.880 Let's prove how cool we are. 0.60

00:15:03.200 A total abandonment of moral truth and biological truth,

00:15:10.120 of truth of all kinds.

00:15:12.320 And then where are you left?

00:15:13.800 What do you think you're doing exactly?

00:15:17.440 What's the next step here?

00:15:20.680 Okay, the goal is to, let's defeat the left.

00:15:23.360 Step one, abandon moral truth.

00:15:25.260 Step two, abandon biological truth.

00:15:27.080 And then what, victory?

00:15:29.120 Okay, then we got step three, question marks.

00:15:31.940 Step four, victory.

00:15:33.200 What goes in step three there?

00:15:37.340 You've joined them.

00:15:39.040 You've given them everything. 1.00

00:15:41.740 You imbecile. 1.00

00:15:43.480 You've given them everything they want. 1.00

00:15:46.240 And you'll oppose them now because, well, yeah,

00:15:48.800 we've given them everything that matters.

00:15:50.100 We've given them truth.

00:15:50.880 We've given them morality.

00:15:52.760 We've adopted their fundamental outlook on life.

00:15:57.060 But we believe in lower taxes.

00:16:00.620 What I would like for someone to do is explain.

00:16:12.100 Break it down for me.

00:16:13.120 What exactly are you conserving?

00:16:16.960 What are you trying to conserve?

00:16:21.660 If not truth, first and foremost.

00:16:23.220 And if you can't come up with an answer to that,

00:16:29.360 then I would suggest that you and I are not even on the same side.

00:16:32.200 Now let's get to our five headlines.

00:16:41.980 And one last note on that.

00:16:43.640 I should also mention that Brandy Love, it has come to my attention.

00:16:48.040 Tracy Livermore, Brandy Love, sent out a tweet.

00:16:50.820 And she said that I have lost her.

00:16:54.380 She said, Matt Walsh has lost me.

00:16:57.200 Well, no, no, I didn't lose you because we were never on the same side at all.

00:17:01.840 So there's no loss here. 0.96

00:17:04.440 Oh, no, I've lost the hardcore porn star.

00:17:06.060 I've lost a 48-year-old woman selling her body on the Internet. 0.95

00:17:08.760 What a great tragedy.

00:17:11.960 All right.

00:17:12.240 Let's go here.

00:17:14.880 Number one, Michael Wolff, who's an author.

00:17:18.780 He was hawking his, I think his new anti-Trump book that he has out,

00:17:22.200 which I have no interest in.

00:17:23.860 But I do have interest in this.

00:17:25.140 He was on CNN and with the baked potato himself, Brian Stelter.

00:17:30.180 And it's kind of a long clip.

00:17:31.460 We're going to play the whole thing because this is just great.

00:17:34.240 He started attacking Brian Stelter and CNN right to his face on the air.

00:17:40.300 And it's simply wonderful.

00:17:41.920 Let's watch.

00:17:42.940 I think the media has done a terrible job on this.

00:17:46.000 I think you yourself, you know, while you're a nice guy, you know,

00:17:50.380 you're full of sanctimony.

00:17:52.360 You know, you become part of one of the parts of the problem of the media.

00:17:56.700 You know, you come on here and you and you have a, you know, a monopoly on truth.

00:18:03.240 You know, you know exactly how things are supposed to be done.

00:18:07.320 You know, you are why one of the reasons people can't stand the media.

00:18:11.920 I'm sorry.

00:18:12.480 You're cracking me up.

00:18:16.220 It's your fault.

00:18:17.380 You know, people have genuine problems with the media.

00:18:21.400 The media doesn't get the story right.

00:18:23.820 The media exists in its own bubble.

00:18:26.560 That's true.

00:18:27.680 You know, you got to stop.

00:18:32.480 I mean, that last segment that that that I just had to listen to of all of the people saying the same old stuff.

00:18:38.480 Also, you're incredibly repetitive.

00:18:40.140 It's week after week.

00:18:42.480 I mean, you're the flip side of of of Donald Trump, you know, fake news.

00:18:48.460 And you say virtuous news.

00:18:50.600 You know, there there is just figure out what is real.

00:18:53.740 I mean, we.

00:18:54.660 I'm listening.

00:18:56.480 Well, well, figuring out.

00:18:57.760 Yeah.

00:18:57.920 Figuring out what is real is not so is not so is not so easy.

00:19:02.200 And and, you know, most people don't want to talk turn to Brian Stelter to tell us what's real.

00:19:08.500 I'm sorry.

00:19:11.320 What what is with.

00:19:14.260 First of all, they all do this.

00:19:16.600 Kamala Harris does it.

00:19:17.580 The laugh they all do when they're being called out or they're in an uncomfortable situation.

00:19:24.780 The nerve, the nervous laughter.

00:19:26.640 There goes a piece of paper.

00:19:27.500 The nervous laughter that they do.

00:19:30.140 It's really awkward and it comes off.

00:19:32.880 You know, it's one thing if you have nervous laughter is is an instinct that people have.

00:19:37.060 It's kind of a reflex.

00:19:38.840 But the laughter here from from Stelter there, just like with with Harris, it's not a reflex.

00:19:44.360 It comes off is as a something intentional they're doing.

00:19:51.580 A deflection.

00:19:54.280 And I don't think it works in their favor.

00:19:57.600 But, of course, everything that he said that I don't think there's any further commentary needed to be added there.

00:20:02.320 I think everything you said there was obviously correct.

00:20:04.580 All right.

00:20:04.740 Next we have there were more protests that we spa in Los Angeles over the weekend. 0.99

00:20:08.360 People upset that the spa is allowing men to show their penises to young girls. 0.89

00:20:12.760 Something that, by the way, just give it a couple more years and a lot of conservatives are going to be defending this as well if they're not already.

00:20:23.180 Just just a few more years, probably by 2025 or so, if not sooner.

00:20:26.640 I might be a little bit.

00:20:28.400 I'm being optimistic thinking it'll take that long.

00:20:32.820 You'll have conservatives saying, well, I mean, of course, men can disrobe in front of young girls in locker rooms, but not outside of the locker room.

00:20:39.760 I, I, I'll put my foot down there.

00:20:42.240 Go in the locker room and do that.

00:20:44.480 And expose yourself.

00:20:47.000 Well, only, only the left, only the degenerate leftists think that men can disrobe anywhere they want.

00:20:54.140 No, no, no.

00:20:54.820 You have to follow the women and the girls into the locker room and then disrobe. 1.00

00:20:58.020 That's the conservative position.

00:21:04.480 But as it stands right now, most people on the right seem to be on the same page that men should not be exposing themselves to young girls or women of any, of any age.

00:21:14.880 Um, and so that's the, the, that's why the protests were happening.

00:21:19.720 Antifa showed up and, uh, got violent as always.

00:21:22.560 And to say that Antifa showed up and things became violent is sort of redundant now, unnecessary.

00:21:28.100 But this is how the media is covering this story.

00:21:32.820 Uh, this is from the Guardian now.

00:21:34.480 It says, dozens of people have been arrested in Los Angeles following a chaotic and at times violent demonstration by anti-transgender protesters who targeted a Koreatown spa that has a trans-inclusive policy allowing trans women to use the women's facilities.

00:21:48.780 Saturday marked the second weekend of violent protests this month in the streets around Wee Spa, a neighborhood business that has found itself at the heart of a right-wing media storm over an alleged incident in which a customer filmed herself complaining about a trans woman in the women's area of the spa.

00:22:03.300 The far-right protesters called for a boycott of, uh, Wee Spa and chanted baseless claims about pedophilia as women carrying signs reading protect female spaces and it's worse in women's shelters marched alongside men wearing helmets and masks that covered their faces.

00:22:19.680 Baseless claims of pedophilia.

00:22:23.400 Well, you're, you're admitting in the article itself that men, you call them trans women, but they're men, um, are disrobing in the locker room and there are young girls in there.

00:22:35.760 So I wouldn't call this baseless at all. 0.87

00:22:39.560 A man disrobing and, uh, showing his genitals to a young girl, that's the sexual harassment of a young child. 0.95

00:22:46.800 And yes, I would, I would, I would put that in the category of pedophilia. 0.93

00:22:51.660 Not sure how else to, how else to describe it.

00:22:54.700 And it's not just this one woman we should remember.

00:22:57.300 There's the woman who filmed herself complaining and she's the one who sparked all of this because she took a stand courageously.

00:23:04.480 So, and I don't use that word lightly to be in Los Angeles of all places, uh, and to be a woman taking a stand against this.

00:23:13.700 Well, we see how Antifa reacts to that.

00:23:17.900 You're putting yourself in line for public shame.

00:23:20.560 You're going to be accused of being a bigot and a transphobe and all this kind of stuff and potentially even physical violence.

00:23:27.320 So the woman who sparked all of this, I think is a, is a true, she acted heroic.

00:23:34.380 She's a true hero.

00:23:35.080 She acted heroically, but she's not the only one.

00:23:37.480 We also played, uh, last week, there was another woman sharing her experience in the exact same spa.

00:23:44.600 She said she was sitting in the hot tub with her six-year-old daughter and none of the girls or women in the locker room are wearing clothing. 0.99

00:23:52.880 This is a Korean spa, Korean spa, this is apparently what they do there, uh, and then a man walks in, takes his clothes off, you know, sitting on the edge of the hot tub, spreading his legs, showing his genitals to a six-year-old girl. 0.89

00:24:08.400 I don't, I don't know, I don't know how else to categorize that, if not pedophilia. 0.97

00:24:14.460 And she's not the only one.

00:24:16.440 I also shared with you, going back to 2018, there was a Yelp review posted in 2018.

00:24:20.520 It sounded like this was posted yesterday, claiming that they had, posted in 2018, of someone sharing the same kind of experience and complaining about it.

00:24:28.600 Went into the locker room, there was a guy disrobing, talking about his sexual exploits with women.

00:24:37.120 Um, and so that's what's happening.

00:24:39.360 But according to The Guardian and really almost everyone else in the media that's covered this, um, all of these women complaining. 1.00

00:24:46.040 Even though, the second woman we mentioned with the second video, she was of a Democrat, she goes to gay pride parades, she said.

00:24:57.020 But now they're all far right. 0.99

00:24:59.820 If you don't want your six-year-old daughter to be exposed to a man's penis, then you're a far right protester. 1.00

00:25:08.100 And, uh, a white supremacist, even. 1.00

00:25:12.960 Read a little bit more here.

00:25:13.960 It says, the chants and signs in Los Angeles on Saturday highlighted the convergence of anti-trans activism with other strains of far-right activism.

00:25:21.780 Many demonstrators chanted, save our children, a slogan taken up by QAnon conspiracy theorists.

00:25:26.640 This is one of the latest, uh, innovations of media propaganda here that save our children.

00:25:35.320 People who speak out saying, save our children, protect our children.

00:25:38.540 Now that's, it's not just far right.

00:25:40.380 That's a conspiracy.

00:25:41.600 You're a QAnon conspiracy theorist if you want to protect our children. 0.99

00:25:47.100 Which means that a lot of us, I mean, I guess I've been a QAnon conspiracy theorist way before QAnon existed.

00:25:52.580 Go to the March for Life.

00:25:57.180 Tons of signs with words to that effect of protect our children, save our children.

00:26:05.320 Guess we were all pioneers.

00:26:07.120 We invented the QAnon conspiracy theory years before it even existed. 0.93

00:26:14.580 Other demonstrators wore shirts pledging to murder left-wing activists with reference to right-wing death squads in Chile in the 1970s.

00:26:21.360 This is the media's claim, by the way.

00:26:23.060 I'd like to see proof that that shirt was worn.

00:26:26.140 According to multiple protesters, Arthur Schaefer, the leader of the California chapter of an anti-LGBT hate group,

00:26:32.260 arrived early to protest outside We Spa and took refuge behind a line of police officers as trans rights protesters heckled him.

00:26:38.320 It's also interesting.

00:26:43.020 Now, Lois Beckett is a Guardian reporter.

00:26:47.000 I'm not sure if she's the same one who wrote this report.

00:26:49.320 But she was there and talking about her experiences.

00:26:53.520 And she tweeted this.

00:26:54.280 She says,

00:26:54.640 Now, what's interesting there is she also is using this phrase.

00:27:19.100 Well, they're anti-pedophile protesters.

00:27:24.080 And you're not?

00:27:26.460 See, you're using anti-pedophile in a pejorative way.

00:27:31.860 That's the tone here.

00:27:33.980 These far-right anti-pedophile protesters.

00:27:36.740 Well, let me just say right now, as absurd as it is to brand this a right-wing position, I'll take it.

00:27:46.580 As a member of the far-right myself, professedly so, I'll take that.

00:27:53.280 If you want to give that to us, I'll take it.

00:27:55.320 Sure.

00:27:56.920 Yeah.

00:27:57.140 Okay, we're the anti-pedophile side.

00:28:00.080 Fine.

00:28:03.240 And you're not.

00:28:04.520 I mean, we already know that.

00:28:05.720 But if you want to just come out and admit that, then that's perfectly fine with me.

00:28:10.280 At least we're finally getting our cards on the table, I suppose, which is nice.

00:28:15.160 All right, moving on here.

00:28:15.960 Kamala Harris, she had some thoughts over the weekend about vaccines and the Bible.

00:28:21.880 Let's take a listen to that.

00:28:22.580 I do believe that the act of getting vaccinated is the very essence, the very essence of what the Bible tells us when it says, love thy neighbor.

00:28:37.280 Right?

00:28:38.300 Because what we know is, one can ask, well, who is one's neighbor?

00:28:44.400 Is it the person who lives to my left, lives to my right?

00:28:47.100 I know them.

00:28:48.080 May borrow a cup of sugar.

00:28:50.480 Right?

00:28:50.680 But what we know it means when we talk about love thy neighbor is that, yes, it may be the person next door, and it may be the man on the side of the road, and it may be a perfect stranger.

00:29:06.440 And in the face of that stranger, you see a friend.

00:29:11.320 That's what this is about.

00:29:13.260 And so by getting vaccinated, you are loving your neighbor.

00:29:16.480 You know, if she's being honest, though, if she's being totally honest, the Bible quote that really gets her message about vaccines across, the Bible quote that really conveys her point about vaccines, I would say it's more maybe in Exodus, I am the Lord thy God, thou shall have no other gods before me.

00:29:38.740 That's the Bible quote, and that's because that's what the government is saying to us.

00:29:44.980 The government is God saying, we are telling you to do this, and that's why you should do it.

00:29:50.600 You know, if they were serious about convincing people to get vaccinated, it's going to take, for one thing, humility.

00:30:03.480 Okay, it's going to take two things.

00:30:09.120 You're going to have to actually take these objections seriously and treat them with respect, treat the people with respect, and also demonstrate some humility. 0.82

00:30:19.840 And both of these things, sincerity and humility, this is outside the grasp of someone like Kamala Harris, or anyone in the Biden administration, or any of these smarmy bastards in the media, mocking those who haven't gotten vaccinated, or accusing them of, you know, being mass murderers and basically terrorists.

00:30:40.300 That's not going to do it.

00:30:41.500 If you really cared, you would drop that whole act completely.

00:30:49.360 Spitting Bible quotes, especially coming from Kamala Harris, of all people.

00:30:55.620 Avidly pro-abortion. 0.57

00:30:57.080 Huge fan of babies being slaughtered by the millions in the womb.

00:31:01.860 This is not someone who cares what the Bible has to say.

00:31:05.560 So if you really wanted to, that's what you would do.

00:31:09.300 And you would start by saying, hey, listen.

00:31:11.500 A lot of public officials from the very beginning have not been honest about this.

00:31:19.900 There's been contradictory, conflicting pronouncements that have been made about coronavirus from the very beginning.

00:31:29.500 We made a lot of mistakes from the very beginning.

00:31:33.880 We shut down whole businesses and industries that didn't need to be shut down.

00:31:38.360 We foisted all this on our kids, which was unnecessary.

00:31:41.500 We took them out of school, which we didn't need to do.

00:31:44.060 It caused a lot of damage.

00:31:46.460 And that's why people don't trust us.

00:31:48.300 And I don't blame them for not trusting us.

00:31:52.020 They're not stupid for not trusting us. 0.98

00:31:55.060 However, they should still get vaccinated because blah, blah, blah. 0.99

00:31:57.660 And then you make your pitch.

00:31:58.360 And you apologize for the way that this has been handled.

00:32:06.860 Acknowledging that you have given people a reason not to trust you.

00:32:09.860 That is the primary reason.

00:32:11.360 The people who are not getting vaccinated.

00:32:12.820 Either they have looked at the facts and just decided that this is not something they feel like they need.

00:32:27.220 Oftentimes because they're not in a high-risk category for coronavirus.

00:32:30.880 And so they figure, well, I just don't need this.

00:32:36.220 Or, and maybe it's both of these things, they just don't trust any of the people on TV telling them to do it. 0.97

00:32:44.540 And bringing in pop stars and juveniles saying, vax that ass up, that doesn't help much either. 0.84

00:32:50.280 But, again, that's outside their capacity. 0.97

00:32:56.680 They can't demonstrate humility.

00:32:57.980 So they're going to keep hectoring and scolding.

00:33:00.280 And it won't make a difference.

00:33:02.580 You're not going to convince one single person that way.

00:33:05.220 Not one.

00:33:09.440 And this isn't going to help either.

00:33:10.640 From the Daily Mail, it says,

00:33:11.440 L.A. County's reinstated indoor mask-wearing mandate went into effect today as the Indian Delta variant threatens to halt progress across the coronavirus across the country, against the coronavirus across the country.

00:33:23.140 The spread of the highly contagious strain which originated in India has already pushed new infections up to 26,000 nationwide, an increase of 69% on a seven-day moving average compared to one a week earlier.

00:33:33.180 Nearly every state witnessed a rise in infections in the last week, and CDC data shows the Delta variant is responsible for about 60% of these cases.

00:33:42.800 The reinstatement of indoor mask-wearing in L.A. came after the county saw a 700% increase in its positivity rate over the past month, according to health officials, with the unvaccinated accounting for all hospitalizations.

00:33:54.300 Well, if you're trying to push vaccines, this isn't helping either.

00:33:58.100 Telling people they have to go put their masks on again, that's not going to help.

00:34:04.040 And yeah, we're hearing how cases are up, and even people who are vaccinated are getting the dreaded Delta strain.

00:34:10.720 Let me ask you this.

00:34:11.620 How many of the vaccinated people, or the people who have immunity, one way or another, even if it's from prior infection, of the immune people,

00:34:19.800 how many of them are getting seriously sick from the Delta variant, or dying from it?

00:34:27.500 None?

00:34:28.340 Is the answer like zero, or very close to zero?

00:34:31.140 Yeah, exactly.

00:34:34.340 So what you're going to hear with this new attempt at pushing the COVID panic porn, they're going to drop—we know for the last year and a half, it was nothing but they were telling us about deaths,

00:34:48.540 they were telling us about hospitalization rates, people in the ICU, and so on.

00:34:52.120 So you're going to notice something.

00:34:54.180 They're not going to be talking about that anymore.

00:34:55.820 You're not going to hear much about deaths, because there aren't a lot of deaths happening, thank God, right now.

00:35:01.940 Instead, they're going to talk only about cases.

00:35:03.680 And they're not going to mention that a great number of these cases are just really mild infections and not a big deal.

00:35:12.140 Because they're happening in people who have already had prior immunity.

00:35:15.400 All right, next.

00:35:18.760 This is also from The Guardian.

00:35:21.860 A lot of British media today.

00:35:23.320 Probably way too much.

00:35:24.360 I didn't plan it this way, but that's the way it happened.

00:35:26.860 It says,

00:35:27.220 Britney Spears has refused to perform again while her father retains control over her career and said the conservatorship she has been under for 13 years has killed my dreams, in quotes.

00:35:37.220 Her remarks in a lengthy Instagram post were the latest in a series of emotional public comments about conservatorship that controls her personal and financial affairs and which she has begged to be brought to an end.

00:35:48.260 She wrote,

00:35:48.920 I'm not going to be performing on any stages anytime soon with my dad handling what I wear, say, do, or think.

00:35:56.560 And also she appointed a new lawyer to represent her in a bid to bring the conservatorship to an end, and she was allowed by a judge to appoint her own lawyer.

00:36:05.880 You know, I haven't said anything about the Britney Spears story, even though people seem to care very deeply about it.

00:36:11.700 My wife cares deeply about it.

00:36:13.240 I was talking to her about this on the way home from church yesterday, because she gives me the Britney Spears update, like, every night, even though I don't ask.

00:36:23.260 But she's very invested in this story as well.

00:36:26.020 And so I was talking to my wife about it, and she was bringing up Britney Spears.

00:36:28.280 And then I, as I often do, I pivoted the conversation back to aliens.

00:36:32.500 Don't ask how I made that connection, but that's what I normally, that's usually my move.

00:36:36.420 If I'm not interested in a conversation, I'm just going to pivot it and say, yeah, but what about aliens, though?

00:36:40.840 So I understand people care about this, but here's my general take on it.

00:36:46.040 Two things.

00:36:47.640 The one is, I'm not exactly sure why this case matters as much as it seems to matter to a lot of people.

00:36:55.960 Even if she is suffering an injustice, which it sounds like there are many unjust things that happen to Britney Spears, having an IUD forced on her. 1.00

00:37:04.320 Certainly, I oppose that, absolutely, on moral grounds.

00:37:06.960 But there are many injustices happening in the world, and such intense focus has been placed on this.

00:37:17.200 But I think more to the point, and I don't know how else to put this except this way, what if Britney Spears is actually insane, though?

00:37:28.740 Like, we seem to have ruled out that possibility.

00:37:35.600 If she's actually insane, I don't know.

00:37:38.740 I don't know what her mental health situation is.

00:37:43.720 But if she's actually psychotic or insane or something, then that's probably why the conservatorship was put in place to begin with.

00:37:52.060 It doesn't justify everything that's been done under the guise of conservatorship, necessarily, but that's why it's there.

00:37:58.440 So, all the protesters who, for months or years now, some of them showing up at the courtroom demanding, take the conservatorship off.

00:38:07.840 Do you know something about Britney Spears' mental health situation?

00:38:13.460 That the people involved in this case, the judges and everyone, don't know?

00:38:18.640 What information do you have?

00:38:21.240 Because what you're saying is, no, just take it off.

00:38:24.820 But what if she really is not competent, is not able to handle her own affairs? 0.99

00:38:31.640 Are you sure that's not the case?

00:38:34.520 Is this a protest against the very concept of a conservatorship?

00:38:39.660 I mean, that's one thing.

00:38:43.200 I wouldn't agree with that.

00:38:44.340 I think they do have their place.

00:38:45.740 If someone is truly incompetent, truly insane, then that's the place.

00:38:53.740 Again, it doesn't justify everything that is done under that guise.

00:38:57.060 But in principle, that's why conservatorships exist.

00:39:01.620 So that's my issue.

00:39:04.560 I mean, I could think back.

00:39:05.400 I haven't followed Britney Spears that closely, but I could think back over the years,

00:39:08.960 especially going back, I guess, when the conservatorship was placed on her,

00:39:12.620 it was pretty clear from the way she was acting in public that this is not a mentally healthy woman. 0.96

00:39:18.540 And the sad thing is, it's not her fault.

00:39:20.360 I mean, it's not anyone's fault if they have mental health problems.

00:39:22.840 And in her case, when you take someone at the age of 15 or 16,

00:39:26.680 and you turn them into a child star,

00:39:31.360 and you overtly sexualize them,

00:39:35.300 as was done to her, 0.89

00:39:37.960 then you're destroying them mentally, 0.66

00:39:40.520 causing immense psychological damage.

00:39:46.840 And we've seen this with almost every child star that's ever existed.

00:39:50.440 Almost none of them turn out okay.

00:39:53.600 So it's a tragic story, a tragic case.

00:39:55.820 Of course, not her fault.

00:39:56.660 But even so,

00:39:57.300 I think that's a question that seems to be sidestepped here.

00:40:02.440 Oh, no, take the conservatorship off.

00:40:04.200 Well, okay, but what do you know about her mental health?

00:40:10.420 All right, finally,

00:40:11.720 going back to Britain yet again, 0.93

00:40:14.200 but this is from the New York Post, at least.

00:40:16.020 It says,

00:40:16.580 American kids are binge-watching so much of the British cartoon Peppa Pig

00:40:20.960 that they're developing English accents,

00:40:22.640 and even using words like tele and ready-steady-go.

00:40:27.060 The so-called Peppa effect had already led kids in the U.S.

00:40:29.940 to mimic the star swine with U.K.-produced Peppa Pig,

00:40:33.820 and all that extra tele time during COVID-19 restrictions

00:40:36.660 appears to be making the phenomenon more widespread.

00:40:41.460 That's the claim, anyway,

00:40:42.620 that kids are going around speaking with British accents

00:40:45.160 and using British words

00:40:47.880 because they're watching so much Peppa Pig.

00:40:50.080 Now, I have been,

00:40:50.980 this might be a little bit off-brand,

00:40:52.040 and you might not expect this,

00:40:53.580 but I've been a Peppa Pig apologist for years.

00:40:55.940 I think it's a wholesome show.

00:40:58.660 There's no woke stuff,

00:40:59.900 as far as I know.

00:41:02.620 And I kind of dread saying that

00:41:04.060 because I just know someone in the comments now

00:41:05.920 is going to say,

00:41:06.400 I don't know,

00:41:06.840 they just had an episode 0.99

00:41:08.140 with a transgender donkey 1.00

00:41:10.160 last Sunday. 0.99

00:41:12.840 As far as I know,

00:41:13.820 there's no woke stuff.

00:41:14.980 Wholesome show for kids.

00:41:16.900 But my main thing is,

00:41:18.120 it's not aggressively obnoxious and loud

00:41:22.580 in almost every children's show.

00:41:25.940 It's impossible to be in the same room with it

00:41:28.400 because it's just loud noises,

00:41:31.540 bright colors,

00:41:32.980 in your face,

00:41:33.980 all the time. 1.00

00:41:38.780 Really, really stupid and obnoxious. 1.00

00:41:42.300 Most of the time, 1.00

00:41:43.320 when we talk about children's television

00:41:45.180 or children's entertainment,

00:41:48.140 that's a short way,

00:41:49.520 that's shorthand for 1.00

00:41:50.780 stupid, aggressive, 1.00

00:41:53.000 obnoxious, and loud. 1.00

00:41:54.600 And Peppa Pig is not that.

00:41:55.780 So of all the shows

00:41:59.140 that my kids could put on,

00:42:00.380 I'd say,

00:42:00.700 okay, well,

00:42:00.980 just put on Peppa.

00:42:02.060 I can be in the same room as it.

00:42:04.460 Better than Paw Patrol

00:42:05.680 or one of these other shows.

00:42:07.620 But now,

00:42:08.520 I see that it's a plot 1.00

00:42:09.480 by the damn Brits, 1.00

00:42:11.480 a Trojan horse. 1.00

00:42:12.540 It's revenge for 1776.

00:42:14.480 They're taking our children from us.

00:42:16.420 It's like a form of kidnapping.

00:42:19.360 So yet another thing

00:42:21.240 that I thought was okay and safe

00:42:22.540 proves not to be.

00:42:24.800 Real tragedy.

00:42:25.460 All right,

00:42:25.920 moving on to reading

00:42:26.700 the YouTube comments.

00:42:28.900 DNA Studio says,

00:42:30.260 having Matt read my comment

00:42:31.340 is like winning the lottery

00:42:32.440 but without the money.

00:42:34.660 So it's like winning the lotto

00:42:36.000 except nothing like winning the lotto

00:42:37.600 is what you're saying.

00:42:39.740 You might as well say

00:42:40.580 it's a buffet

00:42:41.800 but without the food.

00:42:44.100 Isn't the money

00:42:44.720 the whole point

00:42:45.640 of winning the lottery?

00:42:48.120 Winning a lottery

00:42:48.820 and then finding out

00:42:49.420 that there's no money

00:42:50.220 would be a great disappointment.

00:42:53.200 And so what you're actually saying

00:42:54.000 is that me reading your comment

00:42:55.020 was a huge disappointment.

00:42:57.820 You're banned from the show.

00:42:59.640 Austin says,

00:43:00.620 the only language that's violence

00:43:02.660 is Matt trying to pronounce crayon.

00:43:05.800 There are lots of comments

00:43:06.720 about my pronunciation of crayon.

00:43:08.420 Once again,

00:43:09.020 I am discriminated against

00:43:10.160 for my Baltimore accent.

00:43:11.940 Okay,

00:43:12.140 this is the way

00:43:12.880 we say the word.

00:43:15.200 Once again,

00:43:15.780 I am meant to feel unsafe

00:43:17.000 and unwanted

00:43:17.500 on my own show.

00:43:18.540 How do you want me

00:43:19.800 to pronounce it?

00:43:22.280 Crayon.

00:43:24.420 Hey kids,

00:43:25.060 get your crayons

00:43:25.920 off the couch.

00:43:27.060 Is that what you want?

00:43:27.960 Crayon!

00:43:29.000 Is that what you want?

00:43:32.220 Sorry,

00:43:32.720 getting a little,

00:43:33.920 speaking of aggressive,

00:43:35.720 crayons probably aren't

00:43:36.440 worth

00:43:36.920 this much energy.

00:43:39.000 Florida

00:43:39.240 Politics Central says,

00:43:41.240 Matt Walsh a day

00:43:42.060 keeps the lefties away.

00:43:44.060 Got to fact check you

00:43:45.660 on that also

00:43:46.320 because listening

00:43:47.300 to or certainly sharing

00:43:48.940 anything I say

00:43:49.880 will not keep

00:43:50.960 the lefties away.

00:43:51.960 I still want you to share it,

00:43:53.100 but fair warning,

00:43:54.520 that's not going to do it.

00:43:57.040 The Good Texan says,

00:43:58.320 I don't use the word

00:43:59.080 cis male

00:43:59.840 or cis female 0.56

00:44:00.840 because I don't like

00:44:01.960 to marginalize

00:44:02.900 normal people.

00:44:04.660 Well,

00:44:05.280 I think you say

00:44:06.980 that slightly

00:44:07.620 tongue-in-cheek,

00:44:08.460 but

00:44:08.560 that is exactly

00:44:10.600 the point

00:44:11.240 of those terms,

00:44:12.200 in fact.

00:44:12.900 That is actually

00:44:14.060 what those terms do

00:44:14.960 and that's why

00:44:15.400 I don't use the terms

00:44:16.260 either unless

00:44:16.720 I'm quoting somebody.

00:44:18.380 But that's the point.

00:44:20.240 We call someone

00:44:20.800 a biological,

00:44:22.460 a man

00:44:23.320 who acts

00:44:24.360 like a man

00:44:24.980 and identifies

00:44:26.320 as a man.

00:44:27.080 We say he's

00:44:27.640 a cis male

00:44:28.620 and the idea

00:44:30.300 is to make

00:44:31.020 being a normal man

00:44:32.840 just one variety.

00:44:37.060 One variety

00:44:38.780 among a whole

00:44:41.080 cornucopia

00:44:41.660 of legitimate varieties.

00:44:43.360 That's the idea.

00:44:46.780 Now,

00:44:47.020 being a cis male,

00:44:47.860 that's not a variety

00:44:48.760 or a type

00:44:50.080 or an option.

00:44:52.880 Everyone is a cis male 0.96

00:44:54.120 in the fact that

00:44:54.780 every man

00:44:55.540 is a cis male

00:44:56.280 in the fact that

00:44:56.780 that's just what you are.

00:44:58.060 There's no other option.

00:44:58.800 Dylan says,

00:45:03.180 Sweet Baby Gang

00:45:04.000 is now trending

00:45:04.740 up on Google.

00:45:05.620 Good job not talking

00:45:06.620 about it, Matt.

00:45:08.920 It's trending

00:45:09.540 on Google.

00:45:09.980 That's good news.

00:45:10.620 And also,

00:45:11.240 the petition,

00:45:12.340 I haven't,

00:45:12.660 last I checked

00:45:13.200 was a few days ago,

00:45:13.860 but I think we're up

00:45:14.320 to a thousand,

00:45:15.060 over a thousand now.

00:45:15.960 I'll have to look again.

00:45:16.780 Certainly over a thousand

00:45:17.700 signatures on the

00:45:18.620 Sweet Baby Gang

00:45:19.260 petition.

00:45:20.700 This is one of the

00:45:21.980 most inspiring

00:45:22.780 grassroots movements

00:45:24.040 that I've ever

00:45:25.140 been a part of.

00:45:26.780 The Sweet Baby Gang.

00:45:27.680 You know,

00:45:30.000 together,

00:45:30.480 we can work wonders.

00:45:32.140 At least we can get

00:45:32.940 a t-shirt on sale.

00:45:34.160 Hopefully.

00:45:34.740 We'll see.

00:45:35.700 It's no secret

00:45:36.700 that trust in the media

00:45:38.040 has reached

00:45:38.760 an all-time low.

00:45:40.080 You keep thinking

00:45:40.700 it couldn't get any lower

00:45:41.840 and somehow it does.

00:45:43.360 And that's because

00:45:43.780 of all the lies,

00:45:44.900 the misinformation,

00:45:46.820 propaganda,

00:45:47.920 fake news that you get.

00:45:49.220 Yet somehow,

00:45:50.080 the media continues

00:45:50.920 to dominate the conversation.

00:45:52.300 That's why we're bringing you

00:46:47.260 Now let's get to

00:46:47.720 our daily cancellation.

00:46:48.360 If there's one thing

00:46:52.660 that really turns

00:46:53.800 our media on,

00:46:55.200 it's the extinction

00:46:56.060 of the human race.

00:46:57.400 Our media is,

00:46:58.380 perhaps more than anything,

00:46:59.460 anti-human,

00:47:00.160 at least anti-most humans.

00:47:01.560 As far as humans go,

00:47:02.960 they like themselves

00:47:03.860 and believe that they themselves

00:47:05.080 should continue existing.

00:47:06.040 It's all the other humans, 1.00

00:47:06.980 especially future generations

00:47:08.080 of humans,

00:47:09.040 that they aren't so sure about.

00:47:10.020 And that's why the media

00:47:10.740 is always eager

00:47:11.580 for any excuse

00:47:12.360 to celebrate

00:47:12.920 the so-called

00:47:13.520 child-free movement.

00:47:16.060 On that end,

00:47:16.900 here's an article,

00:47:17.440 a recent article

00:47:18.200 from Today.com.

00:47:19.560 It says,

00:47:20.480 Laura Lavoie

00:47:21.280 knew all her life.

00:47:22.340 She didn't want 1.00

00:47:22.800 to have children.

00:47:23.380 Now 46.

00:47:24.100 She never felt that draw.

00:47:25.220 She said,

00:47:25.620 part of a growing

00:47:26.900 U.S. population

00:47:28.180 opting out of parenthood.

00:47:30.120 A new study finds

00:47:30.920 child-free people

00:47:31.740 are as happy as parents

00:47:32.980 with the authors surprised

00:47:34.700 by just how many men

00:47:36.300 and women indicated 0.91

00:47:37.060 they didn't want

00:47:37.700 to have kids.

00:47:38.260 It's part of a larger

00:47:38.960 trend of Americans

00:47:39.740 having fewer children

00:47:40.720 in general.

00:47:41.740 The U.S. birth rate

00:47:42.440 fell to a record low

00:47:43.520 last year,

00:47:44.180 and there could be

00:47:44.920 300,000 to 500,000

00:47:47.620 fewer births in 2021,

00:47:49.340 according to some estimates.

00:47:50.820 For Lavoie,

00:47:51.380 there were many reasons

00:47:52.160 to choose to be child-free.

00:47:53.880 Quote,

00:47:54.160 the most important

00:47:54.800 is that I just don't

00:47:55.820 want to raise children.

00:47:56.760 It's just not something

00:47:58.240 that has ever appealed to me.

00:48:00.080 I don't want to be responsible

00:48:01.140 for another human being

00:48:02.360 in that way.

00:48:03.900 Lavoie,

00:48:04.300 a writer who lives

00:48:04.900 in Asheville,

00:48:05.380 North Carolina,

00:48:05.960 told Today,

00:48:06.860 but I also really like traveling.

00:48:08.580 I like adventure.

00:48:10.020 Ever sitting in the same spot

00:48:11.220 for very long

00:48:11.860 and just kind of lifestyle things

00:48:13.640 that don't really fit

00:48:14.360 with having a child.

00:48:16.260 Well, yeah,

00:48:16.560 there's a word for that.

00:48:17.620 It's called being superficial

00:48:18.740 and materialistic

00:48:20.260 and selfish.

00:48:21.580 So that's three words,

00:48:22.560 I suppose.

00:48:23.680 It'd be a lot easier

00:48:24.520 and get to the point

00:48:25.120 much quicker

00:48:25.560 if these people

00:48:26.160 would just say that.

00:48:29.020 Say,

00:48:29.560 I'm materialistic

00:48:30.580 and selfish

00:48:31.000 and that's how

00:48:31.680 I want to live my life.

00:48:33.540 Also,

00:48:33.960 I must note here,

00:48:35.260 you're not an adventurer

00:48:36.640 because you spend

00:48:37.640 thousands of dollars

00:48:38.440 to go to different

00:48:39.380 tourist spots

00:48:40.120 around the globe.

00:48:41.640 You want an adventure?

00:48:42.320 Take four kids

00:48:43.100 to the grocery store,

00:48:44.020 okay?

00:48:44.400 Adventure awaits

00:48:45.180 right down the street

00:48:46.480 if you do that.

00:48:48.260 That qualifies as an adventure

00:48:49.400 at least as much

00:48:50.280 as flying down to Cancun

00:48:51.760 and drinking $27 cocktails

00:48:54.220 in a tourist resort.

00:48:56.260 Now,

00:48:56.780 the Cancun trip

00:48:57.500 may be more relaxing,

00:48:58.660 I admit,

00:48:59.640 but I'm just tired

00:49:00.400 of these childless couples

00:49:01.620 acting like

00:49:02.360 they're exploring the Amazon,

00:49:05.140 bragging about their adventures

00:49:06.580 when they're being herded

00:49:08.640 like cattle

00:49:09.220 from one tourist spot

00:49:10.240 to the next.

00:49:10.720 Anyway,

00:49:11.940 back to the article,

00:49:12.560 it says,

00:49:13.280 her husband feels

00:49:13.940 the same way,

00:49:14.680 she said.

00:49:15.860 They've been together

00:49:16.580 26 years

00:49:17.240 and both agreed

00:49:18.220 they didn't want

00:49:18.700 to have children.

00:49:19.700 They've discussed it

00:49:20.340 over the years

00:49:20.820 but knew the answer

00:49:21.680 would always be the same,

00:49:22.780 she noted.

00:49:23.480 Over a quarter of adults,

00:49:24.580 27%,

00:49:25.240 identified as child-free

00:49:26.840 in the new study,

00:49:28.220 27%.

00:49:29.140 The number dramatically

00:49:31.500 exceeds previous estimates

00:49:32.940 of 2 to 9%

00:49:34.400 reported by earlier studies,

00:49:36.080 the authors said.

00:49:37.220 More than a third

00:49:37.900 of child-free people,

00:49:38.880 35% were in a partnered relationship

00:49:40.920 suggesting couples

00:49:41.720 who don't want children

00:49:42.960 quote,

00:49:43.780 represent an important

00:49:44.760 type of family,

00:49:45.740 they added.

00:49:47.500 Do they though?

00:49:49.360 I mean,

00:49:49.600 if you get married

00:49:50.340 and choose not to have kids,

00:49:52.720 your family really

00:49:54.120 isn't important

00:49:55.120 in a broader sense.

00:49:56.200 I mean,

00:49:56.320 it's important to you

00:49:57.120 but not to anyone else.

00:49:58.660 Your family of two

00:49:59.660 could break apart

00:50:00.660 any time

00:50:01.260 and it would have

00:50:01.720 literally no effect

00:50:02.780 on society

00:50:03.520 in the slightest. 0.91

00:50:04.200 When you both die

00:50:06.120 after long,

00:50:07.440 there will be no trace

00:50:08.220 that you ever existed

00:50:09.580 except for your headstone

00:50:10.580 or that your relationship

00:50:12.260 existed.

00:50:13.820 Families with children

00:50:14.820 on the other hand

00:50:15.560 are bearing the weight

00:50:16.620 of the future

00:50:17.340 on our shoulders.

00:50:18.260 If our families

00:50:18.760 break apart,

00:50:19.900 the consequences

00:50:20.580 to society

00:50:21.240 are immense

00:50:22.000 and catastrophic

00:50:23.340 as we've seen.

00:50:24.940 If we stay together though

00:50:26.400 and raise our kids well,

00:50:27.960 we've bestowed

00:50:28.600 an immeasurable blessing

00:50:29.740 onto civilization.

00:50:30.600 I can see how

00:50:32.660 that qualifies

00:50:33.460 as important.

00:50:34.200 I don't see how

00:50:34.640 Mr. and Mrs. Lavoie

00:50:35.980 down in Cancun

00:50:36.820 opting for nicer vacations

00:50:38.600 and nicer cars

00:50:39.480 rather than propagating

00:50:41.040 the human species

00:50:41.760 are doing anything

00:50:42.540 important for civilization

00:50:43.960 except by contributing

00:50:45.740 to our civilization's decline

00:50:47.100 which I guess

00:50:47.800 is certainly consequential

00:50:49.000 if in a negative way.

00:50:52.320 Now,

00:50:52.520 important to mention here also

00:50:53.340 the article in the study

00:50:55.920 draw a distinction

00:50:56.660 between so-called

00:50:57.560 child-free couples

00:50:58.660 and child-less couples.

00:51:01.780 Child-less people

00:51:02.540 are those

00:51:03.200 who want children

00:51:04.080 but haven't had them yet

00:51:05.180 or can't have them

00:51:06.020 for whatever reason.

00:51:07.040 Child-free people

00:51:07.760 are those who've chosen

00:51:08.520 not to have them

00:51:09.360 and not to adopt.

00:51:11.040 So everything I'm saying here

00:51:11.940 applies only to the latter,

00:51:13.120 to child-free.

00:51:14.300 People who want children 0.97

00:51:15.420 but can't have them

00:51:16.240 have been given

00:51:17.320 a great burden

00:51:18.220 and I feel sorry for them.

00:51:20.260 The good news is

00:51:20.860 that their desire

00:51:21.860 for children

00:51:22.480 shows that they're

00:51:23.140 not self-centered

00:51:23.940 and they have

00:51:26.540 a giving heart.

00:51:28.660 And that's the pain

00:51:29.520 when you're childless

00:51:31.560 and don't want to be

00:51:32.400 that you have

00:51:34.420 a giving heart

00:51:35.260 and you're not self-centered

00:51:36.640 and you want to pour

00:51:37.960 this love into

00:51:39.000 a family

00:51:40.220 but you can't

00:51:42.600 have one

00:51:43.100 for whatever reason.

00:51:46.320 But as I said,

00:51:47.240 the good news

00:51:47.700 is that

00:51:48.380 they'll find

00:51:49.780 other ways

00:51:50.580 to contribute

00:51:51.060 to society

00:51:51.620 and to make

00:51:52.660 a positive impact

00:51:53.460 because that's what

00:51:55.140 selfless giving people do.

00:51:56.560 the people like

00:51:58.160 the Lavoys

00:51:58.800 are a different story

00:51:59.740 completely

00:52:00.180 and that's who

00:52:00.840 we're talking about here

00:52:01.660 and as far as they go,

00:52:02.940 I think two points

00:52:03.560 should be made.

00:52:04.280 First of all,

00:52:06.180 it doesn't make sense

00:52:07.340 or at least

00:52:08.780 doesn't convey very much

00:52:09.860 to say that

00:52:11.260 child-free people

00:52:12.200 are just as happy

00:52:13.140 as parents.

00:52:14.180 Only parents

00:52:14.920 can really say

00:52:15.980 whether happiness

00:52:16.800 increases upon

00:52:17.880 becoming a parent.

00:52:19.520 So if you want to know that,

00:52:20.580 you've got to talk to parents.

00:52:21.580 They're the only ones

00:52:22.200 who can attest to it

00:52:23.020 because they've experienced life

00:52:25.440 as non-parents

00:52:26.520 and as parents.

00:52:28.140 They can testify

00:52:29.220 to that experience.

00:52:30.880 But a child-free person

00:52:32.320 by definition

00:52:32.960 has not experienced

00:52:34.180 parenthood,

00:52:35.080 doesn't know its joys

00:52:36.160 and cannot know

00:52:36.980 what they're missing.

00:52:38.480 As someone who myself

00:52:39.620 has experienced adult life

00:52:41.000 both with kids

00:52:41.700 and without them,

00:52:42.820 I would say that

00:52:43.380 my happiness,

00:52:44.400 you can look at it this way,

00:52:46.460 my happiness cup

00:52:48.040 may have been,

00:52:50.420 you know,

00:52:50.740 nearly full

00:52:51.560 before I had kids,

00:52:52.560 but when I had them,

00:52:54.900 the cup itself

00:52:55.840 grew larger.

00:52:56.980 So there was

00:52:57.440 a greater capacity

00:52:58.740 now for happiness.

00:53:00.960 What I mean is

00:53:01.760 I may have been

00:53:02.940 mostly satisfied

00:53:03.800 with my life

00:53:04.460 before kids,

00:53:05.820 but that's because

00:53:06.220 I didn't know

00:53:07.140 about the deeper

00:53:07.960 and greater joys

00:53:08.820 that were available

00:53:09.640 through parenthood

00:53:10.440 until I had experienced them.

00:53:12.540 The other thing

00:53:12.920 about the happiness

00:53:13.460 of family life

00:53:14.240 is that

00:53:14.720 you can access

00:53:16.600 more and more of it

00:53:17.980 as you grow

00:53:19.280 in virtue yourself,

00:53:20.560 which means that

00:53:21.060 as far as my case goes,

00:53:22.160 there's a whole lot

00:53:22.700 of happiness

00:53:23.080 that I myself

00:53:23.800 have not yet accessed

00:53:24.680 because I'm still

00:53:26.520 working on the virtue

00:53:27.220 part of it.

00:53:29.380 But any selfish person

00:53:30.860 can enjoy a vacation

00:53:32.200 and that's fine.

00:53:34.040 There's nothing selfish

00:53:35.040 about vacations.

00:53:35.880 Vacations are good.

00:53:37.500 But the happiness

00:53:38.400 you derive

00:53:39.020 is easy.

00:53:40.300 It's surface level.

00:53:41.140 It's fleeting.

00:53:42.440 That's what vacation

00:53:43.000 is all about.

00:53:43.720 You don't go on vacation

00:53:44.480 to put in an effort.

00:53:45.360 That's why vacation

00:53:46.160 is there.

00:53:47.560 The happiness

00:53:48.280 of parenthood

00:53:49.000 and of marriage

00:53:49.720 for that matter

00:53:50.480 is found

00:53:51.280 though through service

00:53:52.420 and sacrifice.

00:53:53.580 This means you have

00:53:54.400 to put in the effort

00:53:55.520 to become a better person

00:53:58.180 and the reward

00:53:59.920 is that you'll find

00:54:00.700 deeper and deeper joy

00:54:01.860 in loving someone else

00:54:03.180 because the joy,

00:54:05.880 there is a lot of joy

00:54:06.780 in loving someone else

00:54:07.660 but it doesn't come

00:54:10.960 automatically

00:54:11.620 to most people.

00:54:13.280 you have to learn

00:54:15.540 how to find joy

00:54:17.160 in that.

00:54:19.320 On the other hand,

00:54:20.160 if you get married

00:54:20.800 and you have kids

00:54:21.960 and yet you remain 0.97

00:54:23.680 a selfish, 1.00

00:54:24.600 spoiled, 1.00

00:54:25.100 self-entitled brat 0.98

00:54:26.100 like so many people do, 0.98

00:54:27.620 then you'll be 0.99

00:54:28.080 just as miserable 0.97

00:54:28.900 in family life 0.79

00:54:29.740 as you were before

00:54:30.480 and over time

00:54:31.060 you'll be quite a bit 0.95

00:54:31.760 more miserable. 0.70

00:54:35.300 And there are people, 0.68

00:54:36.860 I'm not going to deny

00:54:37.840 that these people exist

00:54:38.760 who will say that

00:54:39.500 sometimes quite openly

00:54:41.220 say that they regret

00:54:42.560 having kids.

00:54:43.560 It's not common

00:54:44.360 but people talk about this.

00:54:46.200 They regret having kids,

00:54:47.340 they regret starting a family

00:54:48.440 and what you're going to find

00:54:50.700 every single time

00:54:51.760 with these kinds of people 0.75

00:54:52.680 is that they are very selfish 0.98

00:54:54.460 and immature 0.98

00:54:54.900 and they never grew.

00:54:56.360 They refused to grow.

00:54:59.700 They thought that

00:55:00.640 the joys of parenthood

00:55:01.820 would just come raining

00:55:02.880 down from the sky.

00:55:04.400 They thought it would be

00:55:05.240 presented to them

00:55:06.340 as easy as

00:55:07.560 that $27 cocktail

00:55:09.400 at the price.

00:55:11.220 resort.

00:55:11.660 Someone's just going to

00:55:12.240 hand it to them

00:55:12.920 and they can sip from it

00:55:13.940 and it's a nice,

00:55:14.660 easy, relaxing thing.

00:55:16.960 It's not.

00:55:17.620 You've got to work for it.

00:55:19.720 You have to go get it.

00:55:22.560 That's the best joys in life.

00:55:24.060 You have to make your way

00:55:26.600 through pain and suffering

00:55:27.580 to get to them

00:55:28.540 and then once you're there

00:55:29.560 you know.

00:55:32.840 Second point though,

00:55:33.780 finally,

00:55:34.160 about this label

00:55:34.760 child-free.

00:55:37.720 If you want to understand

00:55:38.960 how grotesque

00:55:39.740 this label is

00:55:40.540 that the media uses

00:55:41.800 casually,

00:55:43.420 child-free.

00:55:44.920 Well, just imagine

00:55:45.660 how people would react

00:55:46.580 if a father said

00:55:47.600 that his children

00:55:48.160 are all straight

00:55:48.960 and described that

00:55:49.960 as gay-free parenting.

00:55:52.520 I've got a gay-free family. 1.00

00:55:54.860 It's great.

00:55:55.360 This is awesome.

00:55:56.520 What if someone said that?

00:55:58.300 He would certainly

00:55:58.820 be admonished

00:55:59.520 for describing gayness 0.98

00:56:00.720 as a disease 0.93

00:56:01.640 that you can be

00:56:02.560 free of

00:56:03.440 like cancer.

00:56:04.060 And yet,

00:56:05.920 that's exactly

00:56:06.640 how we treat

00:56:07.240 children themselves.

00:56:09.580 Like they are 0.95

00:56:10.300 a disease

00:56:11.000 that we can be

00:56:14.060 free of

00:56:14.800 when of course

00:56:16.920 they're not.

00:56:19.300 And family life,

00:56:21.180 life with raising children,

00:56:25.000 immense happiness,

00:56:25.860 immense joy

00:56:26.380 if you put in the work.

00:56:27.980 And so,

00:56:30.920 the child-free movement

00:56:32.360 and the media

00:56:34.340 that promotes it

00:56:35.760 because they're looking

00:56:36.680 ultimately for the

00:56:37.500 extinction of the human race,

00:56:38.900 they are all today

00:56:39.760 canceled.

00:56:42.580 And that's going to do it

00:56:43.460 for us today.

00:56:44.540 And, you know,

00:56:45.080 for me,

00:56:45.520 I'm not only a parent

00:56:46.480 of my children

00:56:47.140 but also

00:56:48.120 of all of you

00:56:48.920 sweet babies.

00:56:50.060 So,

00:56:50.320 the joy for me

00:56:51.020 is infinite.

00:56:54.100 Thanks for watching.

00:56:54.920 Have a great day.

00:56:56.240 Godspeed.
