00:00:00.000 Good morning, everyone. I'm Megyn Kelly. It's Friday, August 8th, 2025, and this is your
00:00:08.100 AM update.
00:00:09.140 Apple is announcing that it will invest $600 billion, that's with a B, in the United States
00:00:16.140 over the next four years.
00:00:17.580 President Trump welcomes Apple CEO Tim Cook to the White House to celebrate another massive
00:00:22.660 investment in the United States.
00:00:24.800 I want to give a measured nonpartisan response here.
00:00:28.200 F*** you, you roid-addled nepo crime.
00:00:31.620 RFKJ moved to withdraw government funding for mRNA vaccine research, and the left seethes.
00:00:38.500 Federal prosecutors announced hate crime charges against the suspect accused of gunning down
00:00:43.060 two young Israeli embassy staffers in cold blood.
00:00:46.960 And what's Texas Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett like behind the scenes?
00:00:51.440 Here's a hint.
00:00:52.560 I need 10 or 15 skirts from Calvin Klein.
00:00:55.940 Okay, what kind of skirts do you use?
00:00:57.300 Please bore someone else with your questions.
00:01:00.080 All that and more coming up in just a moment on your AM update.
00:01:06.220 You know the feeling someone in your family gets sick, and then you're stuck waiting for
00:01:09.940 a doctor's appointment, or the pharmacy's out of stock, or you're left wondering why something
00:01:14.200 so basic must be so hard.
00:01:16.560 Too many American families face this reality, and that's why many are turning to all-family
00:01:20.780 pharmacy.
00:01:21.220 They're doing what Big Pharma won't, which is putting families back in control and making
00:01:25.860 it possible to be proactive, not reactive, with your health.
00:01:29.000 This is not just some online pharmacy.
00:01:31.040 All-family pharmacy is based in Florida and family-owned.
00:01:34.120 You can order ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine, antibiotics, daily maintenance meds, emergency
00:01:40.020 kits, everything you'd want to have on hand before you need it.
00:01:44.100 Order online, and they will work with licensed doctors to provide the prescription for you.
00:01:48.440 Then your medications get shipped right to your door.
00:01:51.480 Visit allfamilypharmacy.com slash megan, okay?

00:02:07.000 Be prepared.
00:02:07.660 Be in control.
00:02:08.640 This is healthcare that works for you.
00:02:09.940 President Trump on Wednesday, flanked by Apple CEO Tim Cook, Vice President J.D. Vance, Treasury
00:02:18.580 Secretary Scott Besson, and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, announcing a massive new investment
00:02:24.060 into American manufacturing.
00:02:25.980 Today, Apple is announcing that it will invest $600 billion, that's with a B, in the United
00:02:33.120 States over the next four years.
00:02:34.760 That's $100 billion more than they were originally going to invest.
00:02:40.920 And this is the largest investment Apple has ever made in America and anywhere else.
00:02:46.380 This is a significant step toward the ultimate goal of ensuring that iPhones sold in the United
00:02:52.320 States of America also are made in America with the mass infusion of capital it's announcing
00:02:57.680 today, Apple will also build a 250,000-square-foot server manufacturing facility in Houston and
00:03:05.700 invest billions of dollars to construct data centers across the country from North Carolina
00:03:10.500 to Iowa to Oregon.
00:03:13.440 President Trump designing an economic agenda aimed at incentivizing companies to invest and
00:03:18.620 build in the United States.
00:03:20.260 The ultimate goal, shoring up national security and providing jobs for American workers.
00:03:25.860 Apple CEO Tim Cook expanding on the specifics of Apple's latest round of planned investments.
00:03:32.460 And I'm pleased to announce that very soon, this is for the first time ever, every single
00:03:38.660 new iPhone and every single new Apple Watch sold anywhere in the world will contain cover
00:03:46.040 glass made in Kentucky.
00:03:47.640 In addition to the American manufacturing program, we're also significantly growing our investments
00:03:53.300 in AI, including expanding data center capacity in North Carolina, in Nevada, in Iowa, in Arizona,
00:04:01.020 in Oregon.
00:04:01.900 So we're going to keep making investments right here in America, we're going to keep hiring
00:04:07.300 in America, and we're going to keep building technologies at the heart of our products right
00:04:13.100 here in America.
00:04:14.100 Cook also announcing an expansion of semiconductor production in the U.S.
00:04:19.160 In May, President Trump threatening Apple with a 25 percent tariff unless they start fully
00:04:24.320 manufacturing and assembling iPhones in the U.S.
00:04:28.380 This latest announcement falling short of that demand.
00:04:31.140 One reporter asking Cook if iPhone production will ever move completely to America.
00:04:35.760 He makes many of the components here, and we've been talking about it, and the whole thing
00:04:41.740 is set up at other places, and it's been there for a long time.
00:04:44.860 So in terms of cost and all, but I think we may incentivize him enough that one day he'll
00:04:51.140 be bringing that.
00:04:51.820 But he brings most of the stuff.
00:04:53.120 Look, he's not making this kind of an investment anywhere in the world, not even close.
00:04:58.120 CNBC reporting, quote, moving production of a high-volume complicated electronics product
00:05:03.360 like the iPhone to the U.S. would be economically infeasible and could take years.
00:05:08.860 President Trump indicating incremental steps to reshoring production are acceptable measures
00:05:13.720 to avoid tariffs for now.
00:05:15.780 The president wants a made-in-the-USA iPhone.
00:05:19.140 What are the chances that you can actually make that happen?
00:05:22.060 Well, if you look at the bulk of it, we're doing a lot of the semiconductors here.
00:05:26.920 We're doing the glass here.
00:05:28.780 We're doing the face ID module here.
00:05:30.760 So there's a ton of it, and we're doing these for products sold elsewhere in the world.
00:05:37.540 And so there's a lot of content in there from the United States.
00:05:40.500 But what about the whole thing?
00:05:41.460 We're very proud of it.
00:05:42.640 Can you make the whole thing here?
00:05:44.120 The whole thing is just the final assembly that you're focused on, and that will be elsewhere
00:05:50.300 for a while.
00:05:51.680 President Trump rounding out the event, offering more thanks to Cook and Apple in his unmistakably
00:05:56.960 unique way.
00:05:57.840 I want to thank Tim Cook.
00:05:59.700 He's a great, great man, a visionary, a businessman, just about every quality he can have other
00:06:05.260 than athleticism.
00:06:06.500 I don't know.
00:06:07.060 But I'm looking at him.
00:06:08.520 I'm not 100% sure about you.
00:06:10.920 Are you a good athlete?
00:06:11.660 I'll bet you're pretty good.
00:06:13.080 I think he's good at everything.
00:06:14.380 But I want to thank you very much, Tim.
00:06:16.460 Congratulations.
00:06:16.860 HHS Secretary RFKJ announcing this week the cancellation of 22 mRNA vaccine development
00:06:26.400 contracts with the feds, totaling about $500 million.
00:06:29.920 Most of these shots are for flu or COVID, but as the pandemic showed us, mRNA vaccines don't
00:06:35.840 perform well against viruses that infect the upper respiratory tract.
00:06:40.080 Here's the problem.
00:06:41.160 mRNA only codes for a small part of the viral proteins, usually a single antigen.
00:06:47.260 One mutation, and the vaccine becomes ineffective.
00:06:50.080 This dynamic drives a phenomenon called antigenic shift, meaning that the vaccine paradoxically
00:06:56.380 encourages new mutations and can actually prolong pandemics as the virus constantly mutates
00:07:03.080 to escape the protective effects of the vaccine.
00:07:06.180 After reviewing the science and consulting top experts at NIH and FDA, HHS has determined
00:07:12.720 that mRNA technology poses more risks and benefits for these respiratory viruses.
00:07:18.760 The reaction from some of those on the left, swift and seething.
00:07:23.140 Chief among them, official mouthpiece of the resistance, Stephen Colbert, whose late night
00:07:28.140 show is limping toward its death date in May of next year.
00:07:32.120 Health Secretary RFK Jr. just pulled $500 million in funding for vaccine development.
00:07:38.540 Now, we have 10 more months of this show, and I want to give a measured nonpartisan response
00:07:44.580 here.
00:07:45.220 F*** you, you roid-addled nepo-cone.
00:07:47.820 Counterpoint.
00:07:49.080 F*** you, you roadkill munching.
00:07:51.080 Rudd-eyed human swim, Jim.
00:07:53.300 You're going to kill people.
00:07:55.540 Those sentiments echoed across the airwaves and legacy media.
00:07:58.900 More examples here from PBS and MSNBC.
00:08:02.200 I can say unequivocally that this was the most dangerous public health decision I've ever
00:08:07.300 seen made by a government body.
00:08:09.200 It's a sad day for science in this country.
00:08:11.260 Eliminating all of this research and development at BARDA is a tragic mistake that is not based
00:08:17.120 on a science-based decision.
00:08:19.100 That last bit from Dr. Paul Offit, a former CDC Vaccine Advisory Committee member and chief
00:08:25.420 antagonist of RFKJ.
00:08:28.060 mRNA vaccines have become a point of contention since President Trump's Operation Warp Speed
00:08:32.640 helped bring COVID vaccines to the market in record time.
00:08:36.280 Proponents point to their effectiveness.
00:08:37.840 Studies show them to have 80-90% efficacy in preventing serious illness, though they were
00:08:44.260 oversold to the public by supposed health experts as having the ability to prevent infection
00:08:49.660 entirely.
00:08:51.040 mRNA, or messenger RNA technology, was discovered in the 1960s but was only approved for use in
00:08:57.440 humans in 2020.
00:08:58.700 Critics of mRNA vaccines point to serious but rare side effects like myocarditis, as well
00:09:05.400 as questions about whether the vaccines weaken immune response.
00:09:09.080 There is not a scientific consensus on the topic.
00:09:12.140 However, your humble reporter suffered an autoimmune response after taking the COVID booster,
00:09:17.380 as did many other Americans.
00:09:19.800 But the funding cut of approximately $500 million across the nearly two dozen projects will surely
00:09:25.660 not end mRNA vaccine research and development either.
00:09:29.640 According to National Review's John Puri, the average total cost to bring a new vaccine
00:09:34.440 to market is more than $880 million.
00:09:37.840 And vaccine makers will not abandon their projects if they simply have to cover a small amount more
00:09:43.020 of the cost, around $23 million, that HHS would have provided.
00:09:48.740 Pfizer, for example, raked in more than $80 billion in sales of the COVID vaccine in America alone.
00:09:55.080 They're fine.
00:09:57.000 Additionally, while HHS is moving away from mRNA-based vaccines, the press release noting,
00:10:02.740 other uses of mRNA technology within the department are not impacted by this announcement.
00:10:09.180 Coming up, federal prosecutors adding hate crime charges against the alleged gunman accused
00:10:14.140 of killing two Israeli embassy staffers, laying the groundwork for a possible death sentence.
00:10:19.500 And a new report indicating Texas Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett is just as sweet to her staff
00:10:26.140 behind the scenes as she is to her political rivals, meaning she's a nightmare.
00:10:31.420 And you have no style or sense of fashion.
00:10:34.840 Well, um, I think that depends on what you're...
00:10:38.400 No, no.
00:10:39.320 That wasn't a question.
00:10:40.180 I've been talking a lot about Riverbend Ranch steaks lately, and for good reason.
00:10:46.300 The ranch is just a few miles from West Yellowstone, Montana, where we go in the wintertime, and
00:10:51.960 their steaks are so flavorful and surprisingly tender.
00:10:57.040 Even someone like me, who does not know how to cook, can make it taste delicious.
00:11:02.000 It's thanks to the quality of the beef.
00:11:04.540 A lot of our listeners have been writing in, sharing similar feedback.
00:11:07.240 Abigail Finan will not stop talking about Riverbend Ranch, and I feel the same.
00:11:11.620 So these guys raise Angus cattle, but they've taken it even further.
00:11:14.940 For 35 years now, more than three decades, the owner has selectively bred Angus cattle
00:11:20.200 with superior genetics for marbling and tenderness.
00:11:23.620 It's all about the marbling and the tenderness, creating a herd that truly stands out.
00:11:28.200 Their beef is born, raised, and processed, too, entirely inside America, without artificial
00:11:33.620 growth hormones or antibiotics, and it is shipped directly from the ranch to your door.
00:11:39.980 Riverbend Ranch is not just another beef company.
00:11:42.360 It's a legacy of quality care and craftsmanship that you can taste in every bite.
00:11:48.020 Order from riverbendranch.com.
00:11:50.520 Use the promo code MEGAN for $20 off your first order, and you'll be eating the same steak
00:11:55.800 that my family and I eat at night.
00:11:58.660 And let me know what you think.
00:12:00.400 Riverbendranch.com, promo code MEGAN.
00:12:03.620 On Thursday, U.S. Attorney for D.C., Janine Pirro, announcing a sweeping federal indictment
00:12:10.840 against the man accused of gunning down two Israeli embassy employees earlier this year
00:12:15.980 in Washington, adding federal hate crime charges, laying the groundwork for a possible death
00:12:21.060 sentence.
00:12:22.260 On May 21st, the 31-year-old male suspect from Chicago shooting 30-year-old Yaron Lashinsky
00:12:28.040 and 26-year-old Sarah Milgram as they exited an event at the Capitol Jewish Museum.
00:12:33.620 Two other unnamed individuals were injured in the attack.
00:12:37.560 According to the indictment, after victims fell to the ground, the suspect continued firing
00:12:42.080 at close range, including at Ms. Milgram as she attempted to crawl away.
00:12:47.260 Mr. Lashinsky had been planning to propose to Ms. Milgram just days later during a trip
00:12:52.080 to meet Lashinsky's family in Jerusalem.
00:12:54.160 Pirro listing out the full set of charges.
00:12:56.920 Count one, murder of a foreign official under 18 U.S.C. 1116 for the murder of 30-year-old
00:13:05.180 Yaron Lashinsky, a foreign official employed by the government of Israel.
00:13:10.940 Counts two and three are hate crimes resulting in death.
00:13:16.100 Counts four and five, the discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence.
00:13:21.040 Counts six and seven, first-degree murder.
00:13:25.620 Counts eight and nine, assault with intent to kill while armed.
00:13:29.960 While armed with a firearm, he assaulted.
00:13:33.320 C.S. and A.T., those are initials, with intent to kill a person.
00:13:40.760 With the addition of hate crime charges, the government now must prove that anti-Semitism
00:13:45.460 motivated this attack, Pirro outlining the evidence behind those charges.
00:13:50.060 While on the plane, he traveled across multiple state lines and drafted a manifesto called
00:13:57.240 an explication on his iPhone.
00:14:01.460 His explication made clear his purpose in committing these crimes that I'm about to read to you
00:14:09.160 was to demonstrate his hatred for the people of Israel.
00:14:13.180 When firing these fatal shots, he yelled,
00:14:17.180 Free Palestine!
00:14:18.700 After he killed Yaron and Sarah, he entered the Capitol Jewish Museum,
00:14:25.620 pulled out a red keffiyeh, and yelled,
00:14:28.700 I did it for Palestine!
00:14:30.640 After which, he was arrested.
00:14:32.680 He demonstrated this hatred through his words' death to Israel and his violent actions against
00:14:40.680 Yaron and Sarah and their co-workers from the Israeli embassy.
00:14:45.940 He also posted one of his postings on social media,
00:14:50.240 Please, please, please, God, please, vaporize every Israeli.
00:14:56.840 The suspect has not yet entered a plea he is due in court later today.
00:15:02.680 Congressional aides spilling the tea, as the kids say, on Democrat Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett,
00:15:08.800 telling the New York Post,
00:15:10.280 She's the Anna Wintour of Washington, the Ellen DeGeneres of D.C.,
00:15:14.560 the Meghan Markle of members, a narcissistic bully.
00:15:18.540 Crockett frequently generating buzz with her brash, aggressive style,
00:15:22.560 from calling the sitting president of the United States an orange orangutan,
00:15:27.020 to this reference to wheelchair-bound Texas Governor Greg Abbott.
00:15:30.540 Y'all know we got Governor High Wheels.
00:15:32.680 Down there? Come on now.
00:15:34.380 And the only thing hot about him is that he is a hot-ass mess, honey.
00:15:39.480 Crockett later saying she was referring not to the governor's wheelchair,
00:15:43.380 but to his migrant busing program.
00:15:46.040 Then it emerged that she'd been liking posts calling Abbott hot wheels for years,
00:15:51.100 long before his busing initiative.
00:15:53.700 Three sources who have worked with or for Crockett telling the Post,
00:15:57.160 Crockett is often a no-show to the office unless cameras are rolling.
00:16:01.920 She prefers to work from her luxury apartment building,
00:16:05.660 where staff say she lies around refusing to come into the office.
00:16:09.580 When she does bother showing up to her taxpayer-funded job,
00:16:13.200 staff say she terrorizes them.
00:16:15.600 A former aide saying, quote,
00:16:17.000 she is never in the office and is very disengaged.
00:16:20.200 She does her bullshit that goes viral and then freaks out over the most random things.
00:16:25.220 Crockett reportedly rents an Escalade or similar upscale vehicle each week,
00:16:29.740 rather than deigning to sit in a staffer's car.
00:16:32.840 One source saying she expects her staff to drive her around while she's in the back seat,
00:16:37.180 treating the staffer like an Uber driver.
00:16:39.080 That staffer is expected to stand outside of the vehicle and open the door for Madam Queen.
00:16:45.000 Staffers telling the Post she is mean, she's rude, she screams at them,
00:16:49.180 that she is, quote,
00:16:49.960 not a dedicated member focused on her constituents.
00:16:53.480 One staffer saying, quote,
00:16:54.900 she is focused almost exclusively on being an influencer,
00:16:58.480 not a member of Congress,
00:17:00.260 calling her, quote,
00:17:01.320 all diva, no wow.
00:17:05.240 And that'll do it for your AM Update.
