00:02:46.400 wheelchair, but they couldn't do so until after the election. The book outlines an effort by Biden
00:02:51.640 staffers to spin the president's stiff, shuffling walk as a complication from a November 2020 foot
00:02:57.920 fracture instead of revealing he was dealing with significant spinal degeneration. And by spin,
00:03:04.160 we mean lie. The authors report President Biden's doctor, Kevin O'Connor, had long expressed
00:03:10.140 concerns about the physical toll the office was taking on Mr. Biden, quote,
00:03:14.660 O'Connor sometimes quipped that Biden's staff members were trying to kill him while he, Dr.
00:03:19.820 O'Connor, was trying to keep him alive. The Guardian, also previewing an advanced copy of the book,
00:03:25.880 detailing Mr. Biden's mental decline, writing, the June 2024 debate in Atlanta was no anomaly.
00:03:31.880 Since at least 2022, Biden has been increasingly prone to losing his train of thought
00:03:37.800 and struggled to remember the names of top aides. When he proved incapable of delivering a two-minute
00:03:44.160 video address without stumbling, aides filmed him with two cameras so the edit would be less obvious.
00:03:51.440 Newsflash, it was obvious. Some of us knew. The authors, quote, one senior aide admitting,
00:03:58.140 quote, we attempted to shield him from his own staff. So many people didn't realize the extent of
00:04:03.160 the decline beginning in 2023. President Biden last week on The View denying he's suffered any
00:04:09.500 cognitive decline. Original Sin, this book, also describing the lead up to President Biden's
00:04:14.600 decision to drop his reelection bid and the fallout within the Democrat ranks. Democrat heavyweights,
00:04:20.180 including powerful fundraiser Ari Emanuel, the agent, and Senator Chuck Schumer behind the scenes,
00:04:25.580 urging the president to withdraw from the race. Some blaming the delay in his dropout for Kamala Harris's
00:04:31.320 loss. Former Obama advisor David Plouffe telling the authors Mr. Biden, quote, totally effed us,
00:04:37.500 describing the 107-day campaign window for Kamala Harris as a, quote, effing nightmare. The details of
00:04:43.980 the book, scandalous, but for many in this listening audience, they're not exactly shocking. For years,
00:04:50.300 questions about Mr. Biden's sharp decline, raised almost exclusively by right-leaning or independent
00:04:57.540 journalists were called outrageous and conspiratorial or ableist. It's now safe for establishment media
00:05:05.620 figures to report on the story without risking their precious careers or status. And it is now safe
00:05:11.100 for Democrat operatives to admit what many outsiders could see plainly without needing super secret
00:05:17.040 sources. Joe Biden was rapidly deteriorating physically and mentally while in office.
00:05:22.620 Mr. Tapper here on a Tuesday CNN appearance. Well, Alex Thompson and I were on the case, as were lots
00:05:29.920 of other reporters, trying to figure out what was going on behind the scenes. But the bottom line is the
00:05:36.420 White House was lying not only to the press, not only to the public, but they were lying to members of their
00:05:40.860 own cabinet. They were lying to White House staffers. They were lying to Democratic members of Congress, to
00:05:47.900 donors about how bad things had gotten. And then after the election, we found out all of these things
00:05:53.680 that when you looked at what was going on with President Biden at the time, it probably doesn't
00:05:59.380 surprise you the extent to which he was deteriorating. But now we have anecdotes and facts about what was
00:06:04.180 really going on behind the scenes with details that Democrats wouldn't share with us until after
00:06:09.180 Election Day. Mr. Tapper himself regularly defended President Biden's verbal mishaps as symptoms of a
00:06:14.840 childhood stutter. Radio host Buck Sexton, Tuesday on The Megyn Kelly Show, reacting to the media's
00:06:20.780 sudden curiosity about the inner workings of the Biden White House. Everybody, everybody knew that
00:06:27.300 Joe Biden was in a state of cognitive decline from just watching him on television for years. On my show
00:06:33.300 with Clay, the Clay and Buck show, we were making comments about how this was the weekend at Bernie's
00:06:39.420 presidency. We all knew, all these reporters knew they are lying now because they have to figure out
00:06:46.800 a way to regain some credibility and to regain some ground, even within their own side, because they
00:06:52.340 made a mockery of their own audience. They didn't miss it. They sold their souls to defeat Trump and
00:06:57.120 they failed. And now they're trying to buy them back off of, you know, layaway. Like this is not
00:07:02.440 something that's hard to understand when you look at it in the totality.

00:07:12.920 David Hogg, progressive activist turned DNC vice chair, now facing a second attempt to remove him
00:07:19.380 from his position. Mr. Hogg running into conflict with party leadership following Hogg's PACs,
00:07:24.800 pledged to spend 20 million bucks primarying Democrats in safe blue districts. That effort,
00:07:30.600 Mr. Hogg says, is meant to freshen up his party. DNC chair Ken Martin, heading an effort to force
00:07:35.660 all DNC leadership members to sign a neutrality pledge or to vacate their party positions.
00:07:41.720 Mr. Hogg fighting that effort, the vote is set for the August DNC meeting. Meantime, in a second
00:07:47.880 challenge unrelated to the neutrality pledge, a DNC member who lost her bid to fill one of the vacant
00:07:53.780 vice chair positions, filing a different challenge within the DNC. Kaylin Free, alleging David Hogg and
00:08:00.760 another male vice chair, won their seats based on a flawed and sexist process. Ms. Free says the DNC
00:08:07.660 violated its own rules, amounting to a procedural issue she says gave male candidates more chances
00:08:14.260 at winning a seat, making it virtually impossible for female candidates to win. To achieve gender parity
00:08:20.840 across leadership, including male, female, and oh, of course, non-binary candidates, the DNC developed a
00:08:28.080 convoluted process. Listen here to one DNC official laying it out ahead of the elections earlier this
00:08:34.500 year. Rules specify that when we have a gender non-binary candidate or officer, the non-binary
00:08:42.700 individual is counted as neither male nor female, and the remaining six offices must be gender balanced.
00:08:48.980 With the results of the previous four elections, our elected officers are currently two male and two
00:08:56.460 female. In order to be gender balanced, we must elect one male, one female, and one person of any gender.
00:09:08.280 So again, this is what we have to do for this vice chair race. Even that guy sounds confused.
00:09:14.880 The DNC panel agreeing with Ms. Free in a 13 to 2 vote to void the elections of Mr. Hogg and Malcolm
00:09:22.260 Caneta. The resolution now must be voted on, though, by the full DNC. If it passes, Hogg is gone,
00:09:28.800 and so is Caneta. Mr. Hogg reacting to the decision in a statement, quote, while this vote was based on
00:09:34.060 how the DNC conducted its officers' elections, which I had nothing to do with, it is also impossible to
00:09:39.740 ignore the broader context of my work to reform the party, which loomed large over this vote. The DNC has
00:09:46.000 pledged to remove me, and this vote has provided an avenue to fast-track that effort. The full DNC vote,
00:09:52.000 not yet scheduled, it may be held in the August meeting, or it could be held virtually ahead of
00:09:56.880 that meeting. Hogg and Caneta will remain in their positions until that time. Good luck. Coming up,

00:11:40.480 The Diddy trial kicking off this week. Opening statements delivered in the federal criminal
00:11:47.460 trial of rapper Sean Diddy Combs in New York City. Mr. Combs pleading not guilty to charges of
00:11:53.180 racketeering, conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
00:11:58.660 Prosecutors aiming to prove Mr. Combs led a criminal enterprise using force, coercion,
00:12:03.780 and manipulation to traffic women for sex with help from his inner circle. If convicted,
00:12:08.880 Mr. Combs could face life in prison. The criminal investigation gaining momentum following a civil
00:12:14.320 sexual assault suit filed by Cassandra Ventura, known professionally as Cassie, the on-again,
00:12:20.720 off-again girlfriend and employee of Mr. Combs. Her lawsuit was settled right after it was filed in
00:12:26.860 2023. The New York Times reporting an eight-figure payout by Combs to Ventura. Dozens of civil suits
00:12:33.940 against Mr. Combs followed Ms. Ventura's case. Federal investigators also kicking off a
00:12:38.700 criminal investigation into Mr. Combs, raiding his L.A. and Miami homes in March 2024. Agents seizing
00:12:46.060 guns, ammo, drugs, and large amounts of baby oil. Prosecutors argue Mr. Combs coerced Ms. Ventura and
00:12:53.220 two unidentified women into sex with him and male prostitutes in events known as freak-offs.
00:12:59.620 In opening statements, Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson telling the jury, quote,
00:13:03.500 during this trial, you are going to hear about 20 years of the defendant's crimes. But he didn't do
00:13:08.600 it alone. He had an inner circle of bodyguards and high-ranking employees who helped him commit
00:13:13.420 crimes and cover them up. They've already put on witness testimony from a male sex worker talking
00:13:19.860 about how Sean Combs paid him to have sex with Cassie. The Fed's outlining instances of alleged
00:13:26.540 violence against the women in graphic detail. Prosecutors will show security footage of Mr. Combs
00:13:31.980 throwing Ms. Ventura onto the floor of the Hotel Intercontinental in a public hallway,
00:13:37.660 kicking her and violently dragging her. Defense lawyers arguing Mr. Combs' sexual habits were
00:13:43.200 consensual and part of a swinger lifestyle. Defense attorney Tenny Garagos, daughter of famed attorney
00:13:49.420 Mark Garagos, telling the jury, quote, you will hear about swinger parties. They will testify about
00:13:54.580 things that should never be heard in a federal courtroom that he liked to watch. You may not like that,
00:13:59.700 but you are not here to judge him for his sexual preferences. The defense saying it's not a crime
00:14:04.380 to use baby oil, imploring the jury to keep an open mind. Ms. Ventura, now the star witness of the
00:14:10.680 criminal case against Mr. Combs, taking the stand on Tuesday, describing various graphic sexual
00:14:16.180 encounters, at times in tears. Ms. Ventura describing physical abuse, quote, he would knock me over, drag me,
00:14:23.400 kick me, stomp me in the head, telling prosecutors there were no conversations about her preferences
00:14:28.900 during these freak-offs. Trials expected to last eight to ten weeks.
00:14:35.380 President Trump delivering keynote remarks at the Saudi U.S. Investment Forum following a day of

00:15:56.640 fundamental interest of stability, prosperity, and peace. Mr. Trump also extending an invite to this new
00:16:02.800 vision to Iran. Yet I'm here today not merely to condemn the past chaos of Iran's leaders, but to offer
00:16:10.120 them a new path and a much better path toward a far better and more hopeful future. As I've shown
00:16:17.760 repeatedly, I am willing to end past conflicts and forge new partnerships for a better and more stable
00:16:23.640 world, even if our differences may be very profound, which obviously they are in the case of Iran. I have
00:16:31.400 never believed in having permanent enemies. I am different than a lot of people think. I don't like
00:16:38.080 permanent enemies. Some of the closest friends of the United States of America are nations we fought
00:16:44.180 wars against in generations past, and now they're our friends and our allies. The Trump administration
00:16:51.140 is in ongoing talks with Iran to secure a new nuclear deal, one that may allow the regime to retain its
00:16:57.160 civilian nuclear program. While the president expresses openness to a working relationship with the
00:17:02.380 Iranians, the positive talk also coming with a warning. Iran can have a much brighter
00:17:07.920 future, but we'll never allow America and its allies to be threatened with terrorism or nuclear attack.
00:17:15.360 The choice is theirs to make. We really want them to be a successful country. We want them to be a
