00:00:30.620 Welcome to The Megyn Kelly Show.
00:00:32.560 Your home for open, honest, and provocative conversations.
00:00:41.980 Hey everyone, I'm Megyn Kelly.
00:00:43.700 Welcome to The Megyn Kelly Show.
00:00:45.240 Oh, we have the perfect show today.
00:00:47.180 A mix of breaking political news and an in-depth interview
00:00:50.540 with a fascinating individual
00:00:52.580 and somebody who I love following on Twitter.
00:00:54.860 Later I'm going to meet, and hopefully you will meet,
00:00:58.080 if not for the first time,
00:01:00.000 then for me the first time,
00:01:01.300 Ali London.
00:01:02.420 You hear me say his name often on this show
00:01:04.900 because this guy has been an absolute leader
00:01:07.560 in the fight against the trans-extremist ideology
00:01:10.400 in our culture.
00:01:11.240 And it comes to him honestly
00:01:14.360 because he is somebody who tried to transition
00:01:17.680 into being a trans woman
00:01:20.840 only to realize he'd been sold a bill of goods,
00:01:25.280 that this was nonsense.
00:01:27.020 He found faith.
00:01:28.260 He rejected the surgeries on that front
00:01:30.460 and now has made it his mission
00:01:32.680 to stop others from going down that lane
00:01:34.960 without eyes wide open.
00:01:36.960 It's an interview you don't want to miss.
00:01:38.760 But we begin today with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis,
00:01:41.300 who remains under crazy intense fire right now.
00:01:45.420 My God, can you open up the internet
00:01:47.660 without seeing this controversy?
00:01:49.620 Democrat politicians,
00:01:51.460 even some fellow Republicans,
00:01:53.380 the NAACP,
00:01:55.120 the Teachers Union,
00:01:56.420 Randy Weingarten,
00:01:57.640 Legacy Media,
00:01:58.780 all accusing him of whitewashing history
00:02:01.920 regarding Florida's new curriculum
00:02:04.600 on African-American history
00:02:06.600 and slavery in America.
00:02:08.740 But Dr. William B. Allen
00:02:10.520 calls these accusations categorically false.
00:02:13.920 And he should know
00:02:14.920 since he helped develop it
00:02:16.260 as a member of Florida's
00:02:17.880 African-American History Standards Work Group.
00:02:21.200 Dr. Allen is a former chairman
00:02:22.360 of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights,
00:02:24.220 a professor emeritus
00:02:25.100 at Michigan State University,
00:02:27.100 an editor of the book,
00:02:28.680 The State of Black America.
00:02:31.300 And he joins me now.
00:02:32.320 Dr. Allen, thank you so much for being here.
00:02:34.920 We appreciate it.
00:02:36.420 Let me just ask you first
00:02:37.680 your reaction to the intense backlash
00:02:40.140 you've seen
00:02:41.040 after your 13-person group.
00:02:43.800 I understand it's, I think,
00:02:45.180 six minorities,
00:02:46.540 six whites,
00:02:47.480 one unknown.
00:02:48.460 That's what we were told
00:02:49.220 on the racial makeup.
00:02:50.820 But a diverse group of professionals
00:02:52.820 gets together
00:02:53.640 to come up with this thoughtful curriculum.
00:02:56.500 And it's to the point
00:02:57.840 where you have the vice president
00:02:59.200 of the United States
00:03:00.200 making an emergency trip
00:03:01.600 down to Jacksonville, Florida
00:03:02.960 to condemn it.
00:03:05.140 My reaction was incredulousness.
00:03:08.540 The very idea
00:03:09.800 that the sentence
00:03:11.800 that was being quoted
00:03:13.080 refutes the charge
00:03:14.940 being made against it
00:03:16.180 should make it unnecessary
00:03:17.460 for anyone to have to speak out about it.
00:03:19.820 Grammar,
00:03:20.580 for people of basic literacy,
00:03:22.580 sufficiently refutes the charge.
00:03:24.580 So it was incredulous.
00:03:25.380 I was incredulous.
00:03:26.740 I couldn't believe.
00:03:27.760 But then I came to understand
00:03:29.080 this really had nothing to do
00:03:30.780 with the standards.
00:03:32.280 It has everything to do
00:03:33.720 with the larger agenda,
00:03:35.140 starting with the teachers' union
00:03:36.820 and their allies.
00:03:38.460 And, of course,
00:03:39.220 carrying it to the level
00:03:40.200 of the vice presidency
00:03:41.020 in order to give it heft.
00:03:43.280 So this agenda
00:03:44.640 is to prove,
00:03:46.380 not just to affect
00:03:47.760 the teaching
00:03:48.300 of African-American history,
00:03:50.040 but to continue
00:03:51.500 to impose
00:03:52.680 a mantle
00:03:53.920 on the entire country
00:03:55.940 that accounts
00:03:57.400 for slavery
00:03:58.280 as the soul
00:03:59.460 of America
00:04:00.240 and discounts
00:04:02.040 the accomplishments
00:04:03.240 of America.
00:04:04.340 That's what it's about.
00:04:05.760 So I was incredulous.
00:04:07.820 I spoke up,
00:04:08.880 of course,
00:04:09.200 immediately
00:04:09.720 because,
00:04:10.820 as you rightly cited,
00:04:12.520 it is categorically
00:04:13.900 false to say
00:04:14.940 that we adopted,
00:04:17.260 embraced
00:04:17.900 the positive,
00:04:18.720 good school
00:04:19.160 of slavery.
00:04:20.700 Nothing could be
00:04:21.460 further from the truth.
00:04:22.620 But that was the allegation,
00:04:24.780 as if we were
00:04:25.320 John C. Calhoun
00:04:26.320 and Roger B. Tani.
00:04:28.420 It was absolutely false.
00:04:30.540 And just so we get
00:04:31.820 the audience up to speed,
00:04:33.380 the agenda
00:04:34.720 for students
00:04:36.200 learning history
00:04:37.000 in Florida,
00:04:38.160 including about slavery,
00:04:39.860 mentioned slavery,
00:04:41.280 repeatedly talks,
00:04:42.480 you know,
00:04:43.020 it requires
00:04:43.740 that the horrors
00:04:44.540 of slavery
00:04:45.060 are fully explored
00:04:46.720 and taught.
00:04:47.600 The thing that has caught
00:04:48.960 the attention
00:04:49.520 of the political left
00:04:50.660 is one line
00:04:52.160 I'll read
00:04:53.280 the preceding part
00:04:54.620 and then I'll read
00:04:55.440 what's caused
00:04:56.940 the controversy.
00:04:58.320 It reads,
00:04:59.200 this is SS.68.AA2.3.
00:05:02.640 Examine the various
00:05:03.500 duties and trades
00:05:04.440 performed by slaves,
00:05:06.160 e.g. agricultural work,
00:05:07.600 painting,
00:05:08.020 carpentry,
00:05:08.520 tailoring,
00:05:09.020 domestic service,
00:05:09.800 blacksmithing,
00:05:10.420 transportation.
00:05:11.460 Not controversial.
00:05:13.020 Then what is added
00:05:13.800 as a clarification
00:05:14.460 is instruction includes
00:05:16.160 how slaves develop
00:05:17.600 skills,
00:05:18.580 which in some instances
00:05:19.500 could be applied
00:05:20.540 for their personal benefit.
00:05:21.760 Now that seems
00:05:22.980 a truism.
00:05:24.120 That doesn't seem
00:05:25.260 to me at all
00:05:25.820 controversial.
00:05:27.140 I remember taking
00:05:28.280 a very interesting,
00:05:31.640 it was a book class
00:05:32.740 on like an extracurricular
00:05:35.160 sort of book club
00:05:36.420 at my children's school
00:05:38.080 in New York City,
00:05:39.140 a very woke,
00:05:40.300 private,
00:05:40.880 left-wing school.
00:05:42.600 And we were talking
00:05:44.100 about African-American history
00:05:45.200 and they,
00:05:46.280 the African-American people
00:05:47.320 in the group
00:05:47.940 thought it was very important
00:05:48.920 to make sure
00:05:49.480 that we talked
00:05:50.700 about the accomplishments
00:05:51.560 of black people
00:05:53.240 in America's history,
00:05:54.580 including and especially
00:05:55.620 during the time of slavery
00:05:56.820 as a testament
00:05:57.820 to their spirits,
00:05:58.900 as a testament,
00:05:59.600 right,
00:06:00.000 to their resilience.
00:06:01.180 So when I saw this,
00:06:02.360 I said,
00:06:02.820 I get it.
00:06:03.400 I see exactly
00:06:03.880 what they're doing.
00:06:04.980 And that was the left
00:06:06.180 saying that.
00:06:07.300 But now it's a very
00:06:08.580 different message
00:06:09.200 and just to give people
00:06:10.540 a flavor,
00:06:11.560 here is the vice president
00:06:13.400 of the United States
00:06:14.700 criticizing this line.
00:06:16.740 extremists pass book bans
00:06:21.200 to prevent them
00:06:22.720 from learning
00:06:23.420 our true history.
00:06:24.800 They push forward
00:06:26.420 revisionist history.
00:06:27.960 They decided
00:06:29.100 middle school students
00:06:30.420 will be taught
00:06:31.360 that enslaved people
00:06:32.840 benefited from slavery.
00:06:37.060 They insult us
00:06:38.880 in an attempt
00:06:39.720 to gaslight us
00:06:40.860 and we will not
00:06:41.900 stand for it.
00:06:43.320 They want to replace
00:06:44.840 history with lies.
00:06:46.740 They dare to push
00:06:48.200 propaganda
00:06:49.280 to our children.
00:06:52.280 This is the United States
00:06:53.560 of America.
00:06:54.380 We're not supposed
00:06:55.160 to do that.
00:06:56.500 Let us not be
00:06:57.340 distracted
00:06:58.240 by what they're
00:07:00.440 trying to do,
00:07:01.880 which is to create
00:07:03.200 unnecessary debates
00:07:05.480 to divide
00:07:06.480 our country.
00:07:09.200 How do you respond
00:07:10.400 to the charge
00:07:10.900 you want to replace
00:07:11.680 history with lies?
00:07:14.120 Let me first make
00:07:14.960 an observation
00:07:15.520 that helps us
00:07:16.200 think through this.
00:07:17.520 We know the vice
00:07:18.320 president well
00:07:19.020 and we know
00:07:20.080 that when she speaks
00:07:20.880 spontaneously,
00:07:21.620 she has an
00:07:23.700 unavoidable cackle.
00:07:26.120 But when she's
00:07:27.060 speaking from a script,
00:07:28.540 she's very grave
00:07:29.760 and very serious.
00:07:31.440 So we know
00:07:32.180 she's following
00:07:32.640 a script here.
00:07:33.900 And the script
00:07:35.020 is that she
00:07:36.400 has to reject
00:07:38.060 what is common
00:07:39.280 sense
00:07:39.860 in the name
00:07:41.240 of an ideological
00:07:42.000 agenda.
00:07:42.580 It's as simple
00:07:43.820 as that.
00:07:44.900 So my reaction
00:07:45.860 is straightforward
00:07:47.020 and I think
00:07:47.500 this would be
00:07:47.820 true of anyone
00:07:48.300 who participated
00:07:48.960 in this process,
00:07:50.520 namely,
00:07:51.760 that Booker T.
00:07:52.760 Washington
00:07:53.180 titled his
00:07:54.440 autobiography
00:07:55.220 Up From Slavery.
00:07:57.620 That's his story,
00:07:58.640 not our story.
00:07:59.580 He told it.
00:08:01.180 Frederick Douglass
00:08:02.060 told the story
00:08:02.900 of the mistress
00:08:04.320 of his slave master
00:08:05.400 teaching him to read,
00:08:06.700 beginning that
00:08:07.380 until she was shut
00:08:08.180 down by the slave master.
00:08:09.420 She pulled back
00:08:11.100 the curtain
00:08:11.540 just a bit
00:08:12.500 so a beam
00:08:13.540 of light
00:08:14.080 shone through.
00:08:15.580 And that was enough
00:08:16.440 for him to take
00:08:17.120 that beam
00:08:17.800 and turn it
00:08:19.140 through his own
00:08:19.880 efforts into
00:08:20.620 a flame of illumination
00:08:22.040 that benefited him
00:08:23.040 and his country.
00:08:25.060 And these stories
00:08:26.600 are legends.
00:08:28.100 The people who
00:08:28.740 lived the histories
00:08:29.980 told the stories.
00:08:32.140 The curriculum
00:08:32.900 is about allowing
00:08:33.860 the people who
00:08:34.580 lived the histories
00:08:35.360 to speak
00:08:36.020 in their own names
00:08:37.440 for themselves
00:08:38.720 to tell their
00:08:39.560 own stories.
00:08:41.440 Lying?
00:08:42.080 No.
00:08:42.860 The lie is that
00:08:43.820 we should make up
00:08:44.940 a story about them
00:08:46.260 rather than listening
00:08:47.760 to the stories
00:08:48.480 they told
00:08:49.280 on their own authority.
00:08:52.480 Well said.
00:08:53.840 The reaction,
00:08:55.340 though,
00:08:55.500 is so over the top.
00:08:57.340 I've got to stay
00:08:57.940 on it for a minute.
00:08:59.800 Here is
00:09:00.860 the state's
00:09:02.460 largest teachers
00:09:03.460 union in Florida,
00:09:04.780 the Florida
00:09:05.140 Education Association,
00:09:06.260 calling this a disservice
00:09:07.900 and a big step
00:09:09.200 backward.
00:09:10.600 Evidently,
00:09:11.240 quote,
00:09:11.920 in an attempt
00:09:12.460 to protect students
00:09:13.520 from wokeness,
00:09:14.540 these new standards
00:09:15.380 will make sure
00:09:16.360 that through the
00:09:17.320 fourth grade,
00:09:18.400 elementary school
00:09:19.060 students' knowledge
00:09:19.760 of African-American
00:09:20.460 history does not
00:09:21.880 extend beyond
00:09:22.780 being able to know
00:09:24.040 who a famous
00:09:24.900 African-American
00:09:25.800 is when they
00:09:27.120 see them.
00:09:28.680 That's the
00:09:29.480 teachers union
00:09:30.700 saying you're
00:09:31.940 trying to reduce
00:09:32.940 knowledge
00:09:34.020 history
00:09:35.440 and African-Americans
00:09:36.340 to,
00:09:37.200 oh,
00:09:37.380 there's LeBron James.
00:09:38.280 Cool.
00:09:39.240 This is,
00:09:40.360 of all the dishonest
00:09:41.380 statements,
00:09:41.960 doctor,
00:09:42.280 this has got to be
00:09:43.100 at the top of the list.
00:09:44.800 You know it is
00:09:45.680 because,
00:09:46.300 look,
00:09:46.900 the African-American
00:09:47.980 history work group
00:09:49.100 deliberated in public.
00:09:52.020 The sessions
00:09:52.460 were open
00:09:53.060 to the public.
00:09:54.240 It was widely
00:09:54.960 disseminated.
00:09:56.360 The teachers union
00:09:57.220 was invited
00:09:58.400 to attend,
00:09:59.560 to listen,
00:10:00.260 and to contribute.
00:10:01.460 they remained
00:10:03.840 silent
00:10:04.480 through the
00:10:05.220 entire process,
00:10:06.460 contributed
00:10:06.900 zero,
00:10:08.460 zero,
00:10:10.340 until it was
00:10:10.960 all done
00:10:11.760 and then
00:10:13.040 surfaced
00:10:13.680 like snakes
00:10:14.540 in the grass
00:10:15.320 to take pot shots.
00:10:17.100 Now,
00:10:17.520 tell me that
00:10:18.020 that's not
00:10:18.400 a deliberate
00:10:18.840 design.
00:10:21.060 Oh,
00:10:21.300 my goodness.
00:10:22.160 I didn't know
00:10:22.780 that.
00:10:23.600 Did they bother
00:10:24.220 to show up
00:10:25.060 or did they
00:10:26.160 blow the whole
00:10:27.080 thing off?
00:10:28.040 They blew it
00:10:29.100 off to all
00:10:30.120 practical purposes,
00:10:31.100 one person
00:10:32.040 who had
00:10:32.920 some affiliation
00:10:33.840 attended
00:10:34.480 some of the
00:10:35.440 sessions,
00:10:36.020 but largely
00:10:36.900 the sessions
00:10:37.660 were empty,
00:10:39.040 devoid of
00:10:39.680 any presence
00:10:40.400 from the
00:10:40.720 teachers union,
00:10:41.440 whether online
00:10:42.140 or in person.
00:10:44.180 Oh,
00:10:44.280 that's stunning,
00:10:45.520 but I guess
00:10:45.920 nothing is.
00:10:47.120 Randy Weingarten
00:10:47.820 weighs in
00:10:48.440 calling this
00:10:49.340 disgusting
00:10:50.220 and calling
00:10:51.700 this a
00:10:52.920 grievously
00:10:53.740 racist
00:10:54.660 notion
00:10:55.380 that you've
00:10:56.420 gotten behind.
00:10:57.340 So that's
00:10:57.780 for those
00:10:59.060 keeping track
00:10:59.620 at home,
00:11:00.100 a white
00:11:00.440 woman
00:11:00.820 calling you
00:11:01.640 a black
00:11:01.980 man,
00:11:02.320 a grievous
00:11:02.740 racist,
00:11:03.740 pushing
00:11:05.040 grievously
00:11:05.560 racist
00:11:06.000 notions
00:11:06.500 about
00:11:06.820 slavery.
00:11:08.500 You know,
00:11:08.900 they're sort
00:11:09.660 of losing
00:11:10.000 touch with
00:11:10.660 reality.
00:11:11.960 Here's a
00:11:12.260 couple of
00:11:12.620 more examples.
00:11:13.740 Politician
00:11:14.280 Representative
00:11:15.040 Eric Swalwell
00:11:15.880 says this
00:11:16.940 proves that
00:11:17.560 Ron DeSantis
00:11:18.320 is pro-slavery.
00:11:20.780 Pro-slavery.
00:11:21.640 And CNN
00:11:25.540 commentator
00:11:26.360 Ashley Allison
00:11:27.320 says,
00:11:28.420 in Florida
00:11:28.900 you have
00:11:29.340 a governor
00:11:29.800 who wants
00:11:30.660 to ban
00:11:31.340 Rosa Parks.
00:11:33.120 I mean,
00:11:33.640 can you
00:11:34.080 believe this?
00:11:36.460 And of
00:11:37.020 course,
00:11:37.260 Rosa Parks
00:11:37.700 is written
00:11:38.100 into the
00:11:38.540 curriculum
00:11:38.840 standards
00:11:39.360 as so
00:11:39.720 many other
00:11:40.080 things are.
00:11:41.060 But here's
00:11:41.460 another way
00:11:41.840 to think
00:11:42.160 about this.
00:11:43.500 This is
00:11:43.940 my story.
00:11:45.440 Not just
00:11:46.200 the story
00:11:46.560 of Booker
00:11:46.940 T.
00:11:47.180 Washington,
00:11:48.120 Ida B.
00:11:49.220 Wells,
00:11:49.940 Frederick
00:11:50.320 Douglas,
00:11:50.840 William Wells
00:11:51.640 Brown,
00:11:52.300 and so
00:11:52.660 many figures
00:11:53.320 whose
00:11:53.680 documented
00:11:54.520 histories
00:11:55.040 we have
00:11:55.720 and we're
00:11:56.120 sharing
00:11:56.440 with students.
00:11:57.420 But it's
00:11:57.760 my story
00:11:58.460 and many
00:11:58.760 other people's
00:11:59.420 story.
00:11:59.660 My great
00:12:00.020 grandfather
00:12:00.640 was lured
00:12:01.720 to this
00:12:02.120 country
00:12:02.380 under
00:12:02.600 fraudulent
00:12:03.200 pretext
00:12:03.920 only to
00:12:04.840 discover
00:12:05.280 towards the
00:12:05.760 end of
00:12:05.940 the 1850s
00:12:06.660 when he
00:12:06.900 arrived
00:12:07.300 that he
00:12:07.800 was another
00:12:08.220 slave.
00:12:09.180 But he
00:12:09.480 had the
00:12:09.800 pluck
00:12:10.140 to seek
00:12:10.900 out
00:12:11.080 opportunity
00:12:11.640 and while
00:12:12.480 being
00:12:12.740 seduced
00:12:13.240 by falsehoods
00:12:14.300 he nevertheless
00:12:14.980 made the
00:12:15.600 commitment
00:12:16.000 to build
00:12:16.800 his family's
00:12:17.540 life in
00:12:17.920 this country.
00:12:19.360 That
00:12:19.840 characteristic
00:12:20.560 that pluck
00:12:21.940 that initiative
00:12:22.780 the resourcefulness
00:12:24.140 was not
00:12:25.480 suffocated
00:12:26.220 by slavery.
00:12:28.220 That's my
00:12:28.880 story.
00:12:29.760 The family
00:12:30.500 that he
00:12:31.000 engendered
00:12:31.760 was a family
00:12:32.460 that indeed
00:12:33.540 became accomplished
00:12:34.740 in many ways
00:12:35.880 and he
00:12:37.160 himself.
00:12:38.480 So that
00:12:38.800 no matter how
00:12:39.960 you look at it
00:12:40.500 whether you're
00:12:40.940 looking at stories
00:12:41.580 large or stories
00:12:43.100 small
00:12:43.740 the reality
00:12:45.080 is the truth
00:12:46.160 is in the stories
00:12:47.480 that the people
00:12:48.040 who live the stories
00:12:49.480 will tell
00:12:50.180 and we
00:12:51.220 have asked
00:12:51.740 that children
00:12:52.440 be taught
00:12:53.900 those stories
00:12:55.380 and not
00:12:56.040 somebody's
00:12:56.600 interpretation
00:12:57.080 of them.
00:12:58.880 And so
00:12:59.120 just to
00:12:59.520 bottom line
00:13:00.020 it for
00:13:00.320 people at
00:13:00.760 home
00:13:01.000 what are
00:13:01.400 you hoping
00:13:01.840 the children
00:13:02.260 take away
00:13:02.940 after having
00:13:03.940 learned of
00:13:04.480 the atrocities
00:13:05.180 of slavery
00:13:05.740 and then
00:13:06.780 this other
00:13:07.260 piece of it
00:13:07.920 the resilience
00:13:08.600 of some
00:13:09.920 of those
00:13:10.340 who were
00:13:10.600 put through
00:13:10.980 it?
00:13:12.640 That's
00:13:13.100 exactly what
00:13:13.700 we want
00:13:14.060 them to
00:13:14.300 take away
00:13:14.760 that they
00:13:15.300 can be
00:13:16.100 proud
00:13:16.720 that they
00:13:18.260 are either
00:13:19.440 themselves
00:13:20.060 as descendants
00:13:21.000 or as
00:13:21.660 fellow citizens
00:13:22.700 heirs to
00:13:24.040 a tradition
00:13:24.620 which was
00:13:25.380 described by
00:13:26.140 Frederick Douglass
00:13:26.860 and Ida B.
00:13:27.460 Wells in
00:13:27.800 1893
00:13:28.620 as representing
00:13:29.960 not only the
00:13:30.880 accomplishments of
00:13:31.720 American blacks
00:13:33.000 post-slavery
00:13:33.860 but the
00:13:34.800 accomplishments of
00:13:35.600 American principles.
00:13:37.380 That's what we
00:13:38.160 want the students
00:13:38.840 to learn.
00:13:39.380 The
00:13:42.220 criticism I
00:13:44.640 must point
00:13:45.040 out did
00:13:45.640 not only
00:13:46.160 come from
00:13:46.720 the left
00:13:47.160 and I
00:13:47.620 agree that's
00:13:48.320 agenda driven
00:13:48.920 some from
00:13:49.920 the right
00:13:50.360 including in
00:13:51.080 particular
00:13:51.500 a Republican
00:13:54.140 candidate for
00:13:55.020 president who
00:13:55.700 is not very
00:13:56.200 well known
00:13:56.720 former congressman
00:13:57.460 named Will
00:13:57.840 Hurd who
00:13:58.680 happens to
00:13:59.060 be black.
00:14:00.020 Now this
00:14:00.280 person too
00:14:00.800 has political
00:14:01.360 reasons to
00:14:01.900 be taking
00:14:02.260 shots at
00:14:03.320 Ron DeSantis
00:14:04.080 but I'll
00:14:04.620 play you a
00:14:05.040 little bit
00:14:05.380 of what he
00:14:06.240 said on
00:14:06.960 CNN
00:14:07.440 another
00:14:08.040 critic of
00:14:08.600 it
00:14:08.760 yesterday.
00:14:10.460 There was
00:14:11.320 no upside
00:14:12.300 to slavery.
00:14:13.720 Slavery
00:14:14.160 was not a
00:14:15.040 jobs program.
00:14:16.180 Ron DeSantis
00:14:17.180 just showed
00:14:17.780 his lack
00:14:18.340 of leadership
00:14:18.920 by acting
00:14:19.960 like it was
00:14:20.480 somebody else's
00:14:21.320 fault.
00:14:21.700 If you're
00:14:22.060 going to
00:14:22.240 talk about
00:14:22.680 how African
00:14:23.920 Americans
00:14:24.460 despite being
00:14:25.580 treated like
00:14:26.540 like property
00:14:27.300 despite having
00:14:28.600 zero freedoms
00:14:29.720 or zero
00:14:30.880 rights that
00:14:31.760 they still
00:14:32.220 had a
00:14:32.700 tremendous
00:14:33.160 impact on
00:14:34.280 our country
00:14:34.760 if you want
00:14:35.120 to talk about
00:14:35.640 that that's
00:14:36.600 great but
00:14:37.280 to imply
00:14:38.100 that there
00:14:38.940 was an
00:14:39.220 upside
00:14:39.720 it is
00:14:40.380 unacceptable
00:14:41.040 and what
00:14:41.860 he should
00:14:42.300 have done
00:14:42.700 is say
00:14:43.720 listen that
00:14:44.580 was worded
00:14:45.620 wrong we're
00:14:46.400 going to
00:14:46.620 fix that
00:14:47.140 there is no
00:14:47.880 upside to
00:14:48.520 slavery a
00:14:49.300 real leader
00:14:49.820 would have
00:14:50.160 solved this
00:14:50.640 problem not
00:14:51.680 letting this
00:14:52.240 continue to
00:14:52.900 fester.
00:14:53.240 what's your
00:14:55.880 reaction to
00:14:56.360 listening to
00:14:56.780 him?
00:14:57.500 it's so
00:14:57.880 easy to
00:14:58.620 react to
00:14:59.420 that I've
00:15:00.660 done it
00:15:00.960 before I
00:15:01.500 mentioned it
00:15:01.960 in my
00:15:02.200 response to
00:15:02.780 the vice
00:15:03.140 president
00:15:03.580 someone who
00:15:04.900 survives an
00:15:05.600 avalanche
00:15:06.320 through resourcefulness
00:15:07.780 and intelligence
00:15:08.860 benefits from
00:15:10.620 resourcefulness and
00:15:11.660 intelligence
00:15:12.320 that person
00:15:13.820 doesn't turn
00:15:14.400 around and say
00:15:14.940 thanks to the
00:15:15.580 avalanche
00:15:16.240 just as
00:15:17.580 someone who
00:15:18.080 gains strength
00:15:19.140 after a long
00:15:20.040 period of
00:15:20.580 grief
00:15:20.980 doesn't turn
00:15:22.540 around and
00:15:23.300 say thanks for
00:15:24.140 the loss
00:15:24.800 but nevertheless
00:15:26.400 recognizes the
00:15:28.740 strength gained
00:15:29.720 recognizes
00:15:31.060 survival in an
00:15:32.860 avalanche
00:15:33.500 recognizes
00:15:34.620 overcoming
00:15:35.900 the people who
00:15:37.520 learn to say
00:15:38.360 we shall
00:15:39.600 overcome
00:15:40.320 may also learn
00:15:41.800 to say
00:15:42.320 we did
00:15:43.500 overcome
00:15:44.160 right it
00:15:46.820 could be a
00:15:47.320 source of
00:15:47.660 inspiration
00:15:48.220 I mean
00:15:49.920 there are
00:15:50.700 books out
00:15:51.180 there from
00:15:51.580 holocaust
00:15:52.140 survivors
00:15:52.580 talking about
00:15:53.380 the love
00:15:54.120 they found
00:15:54.640 in concentration
00:15:55.400 camps
00:15:55.940 I mean
00:15:56.380 you could
00:15:56.740 go down
00:15:57.020 the list
00:15:57.420 or the
00:15:57.900 what they
00:15:58.620 learned about
00:15:59.140 their own
00:15:59.840 courage
00:16:00.320 and strength
00:16:01.460 going through
00:16:01.880 that hideous
00:16:02.420 it's in no
00:16:03.440 way an
00:16:03.800 excuse
00:16:04.260 for the
00:16:05.160 horrific
00:16:05.460 conditions
00:16:06.100 that were
00:16:06.800 imposed upon
00:16:07.400 them
00:16:07.720 precisely
00:16:09.140 that is
00:16:09.900 my sense
00:16:10.500 and I
00:16:10.800 would wish
00:16:11.580 Mr.
00:16:12.060 Hurd would
00:16:12.560 pay due
00:16:13.440 attention to
00:16:14.080 his own
00:16:14.480 remarks
00:16:15.060 and recognize
00:16:16.100 that nobody's
00:16:17.460 attributing to
00:16:18.140 slavery
00:16:18.760 the positive
00:16:20.080 influences
00:16:20.800 they're attributing
00:16:21.500 to the
00:16:21.800 humanity
00:16:22.360 of people
00:16:22.900 enslaved
00:16:23.620 the strength
00:16:24.440 to survive
00:16:25.380 I don't know
00:16:27.100 if you've seen
00:16:27.500 the Tampa Bay
00:16:28.120 Times went
00:16:28.920 a layer
00:16:29.380 deeper
00:16:29.800 and said
00:16:30.880 oh well
00:16:31.440 nearly half
00:16:32.040 of the 16
00:16:32.720 historic figures
00:16:33.520 highlighted by
00:16:34.080 the state
00:16:34.440 were never
00:16:34.800 even enslaved
00:16:35.540 and they
00:16:36.960 cited
00:16:37.380 Georgetown
00:16:38.460 University
00:16:39.120 postdoctoral
00:16:40.340 fellow
00:16:41.180 Joshua
00:16:42.260 Stein
00:16:42.860 to say
00:16:44.600 that James
00:16:45.400 Fortin
00:16:45.940 and Lewis
00:16:46.520 Latimer
00:16:46.980 two of the
00:16:47.480 examples
00:16:47.920 in the
00:16:48.480 curriculum
00:16:48.880 that they
00:16:50.120 were born
00:16:50.880 into slavery
00:16:51.480 one
00:16:51.880 Latimer
00:16:52.420 was born
00:16:52.820 into slavery
00:16:53.400 in 1848
00:16:54.600 and freed
00:16:55.400 four years
00:16:56.040 later
00:16:56.380 so he was
00:16:57.000 four
00:16:57.660 when he
00:16:58.100 was freed
00:16:58.560 and said
00:16:59.580 Fortin
00:16:59.920 was a
00:17:00.220 shoemaker
00:17:00.560 born into
00:17:01.140 slavery
00:17:01.460 in 1766
00:17:02.500 who escaped
00:17:03.980 in 1784
00:17:05.160 and went on
00:17:05.700 to take issue
00:17:06.260 with whether
00:17:06.680 these folks
00:17:07.120 really did
00:17:07.580 learn their
00:17:08.000 skills
00:17:08.340 in slavery
00:17:09.180 or prior
00:17:09.840 to be
00:17:10.220 enslaved
00:17:10.720 or after
00:17:11.640 this
00:17:11.880 slavery
00:17:12.280 I mean
00:17:12.620 what do
00:17:12.900 you make
00:17:13.180 of sort
00:17:13.480 of the
00:17:13.660 piece-by-piece
00:17:14.260 dissection
00:17:14.780 now
00:17:15.160 by the
00:17:15.880 Tampa Bay
00:17:16.300 Times
00:17:16.620 and postdoctoral
00:17:18.100 fellows
00:17:18.620 on the men
00:17:19.580 that you've
00:17:20.120 chosen to
00:17:20.580 highlight
00:17:20.960 how many
00:17:22.040 angels do
00:17:22.760 dance on the
00:17:23.400 head of a
00:17:23.800 pin
00:17:24.060 that's the
00:17:25.380 kind of
00:17:25.740 argument
00:17:26.080 that's being
00:17:26.580 made
00:17:26.920 and anyone
00:17:27.560 should laugh
00:17:28.080 it out
00:17:28.340 of court
00:17:28.820 obviously
00:17:29.860 people who
00:17:30.840 were enslaved
00:17:31.300 brought skills
00:17:32.000 with them
00:17:32.520 developed skills
00:17:34.180 while enslaved
00:17:35.220 developed skills
00:17:36.560 subsequently
00:17:37.200 I like to
00:17:38.100 use the
00:17:38.440 example of
00:17:38.900 Isaac Burns
00:17:39.540 Murphy
00:17:39.940 he was only
00:17:40.900 born in
00:17:41.360 1861
00:17:42.160 and therefore
00:17:42.640 only a slave
00:17:43.380 for four or
00:17:43.880 five years
00:17:44.540 but he
00:17:45.440 became
00:17:46.100 in the years
00:17:47.540 after Liberty
00:17:48.500 a jockey
00:17:49.980 who rode
00:17:51.180 three Kentucky
00:17:51.920 Derby winners
00:17:52.760 and was the
00:17:53.820 first jockey
00:17:54.560 of all
00:17:55.040 jockeys
00:17:55.440 inducted
00:17:56.040 into the
00:17:56.360 National
00:17:56.780 Jockey
00:17:57.420 Hall of
00:17:57.900 Fame
00:17:58.260 one may
00:18:00.060 cite
00:18:00.580 Burns
00:18:01.260 Murphy
00:18:01.740 as an
00:18:02.280 example
00:18:02.720 of
00:18:02.940 accomplishment
00:18:03.540 without
00:18:04.340 regard to
00:18:05.100 the question
00:18:05.660 of whether
00:18:06.480 he were
00:18:06.860 tutored
00:18:07.500 in horse
00:18:08.720 riding
00:18:09.080 by a
00:18:09.740 slave
00:18:10.020 master
00:18:10.500 that is
00:18:11.340 not the
00:18:11.780 point
00:18:12.040 it never
00:18:12.520 was the
00:18:13.140 point
00:18:13.420 the point
00:18:14.520 is
00:18:14.780 people
00:18:15.560 demonstrated
00:18:16.420 their
00:18:16.700 capacities
00:18:17.260 and their
00:18:17.840 accomplishments
00:18:18.420 and that's
00:18:19.520 a story
00:18:19.940 that must
00:18:20.500 be told
00:18:21.200 and we
00:18:21.980 mustn't
00:18:22.300 allow
00:18:22.800 I want
00:18:23.620 to emphasize
00:18:24.060 this
00:18:24.580 we mustn't
00:18:25.620 allow
00:18:26.080 people's
00:18:27.140 stories
00:18:27.520 to be
00:18:27.980 erased
00:18:28.640 by
00:18:29.380 ideological
00:18:30.240 mantras
00:18:31.160 that's
00:18:33.900 what
00:18:34.040 Ron DeSantis
00:18:34.620 has been
00:18:35.080 saying
00:18:35.520 and been
00:18:36.260 fighting
00:18:36.860 in this
00:18:37.920 you know
00:18:38.800 in his
00:18:39.160 position
00:18:39.520 as governor
00:18:39.980 down there
00:18:40.520 and been
00:18:40.940 demonized
00:18:41.480 at every
00:18:41.760 turn
00:18:42.040 for it
00:18:42.520 can I
00:18:43.300 ask you
00:18:43.540 two things
00:18:44.040 one do
00:18:44.720 you believe
00:18:45.060 you have
00:18:45.720 his support
00:18:46.240 in this
00:18:46.720 and two
00:18:47.740 is there
00:18:48.780 any chance
00:18:49.200 you're going
00:18:49.460 to change
00:18:50.240 their curriculum
00:18:50.860 or back
00:18:51.460 down on
00:18:51.940 the wording
00:18:52.340 two things
00:18:54.080 one the
00:18:55.140 african-american
00:18:55.960 history
00:18:56.220 work group
00:18:56.600 was a
00:18:56.900 volunteer
00:18:57.260 group
00:18:57.760 whose task
00:18:58.620 was to
00:18:58.960 deliberate
00:18:59.420 and draft
00:19:00.240 we concluded
00:19:01.660 that at
00:19:02.040 the end
00:19:02.320 of April
00:19:02.760 and turned
00:19:03.900 our product
00:19:04.640 over to
00:19:05.280 the Florida
00:19:05.740 Department
00:19:06.120 of Education
00:19:06.780 we no
00:19:07.820 longer
00:19:08.120 exist
00:19:08.680 we have
00:19:09.460 nothing
00:19:09.720 more to
00:19:10.000 do
00:19:10.140 with it
00:19:10.500 I
00:19:11.240 haven't
00:19:11.500 met
00:19:11.780 governor
00:19:12.140 DeSantis
00:19:12.660 I
00:19:13.460 have had
00:19:13.760 no
00:19:13.900 direct
00:19:14.180 contact
00:19:14.640 with
00:19:15.000 him
00:19:15.180 I'm
00:19:15.840 happy
00:19:16.260 that
00:19:16.720 he
00:19:16.860 leads
00:19:17.140 a
00:19:17.320 stake
00:19:17.540 that
00:19:17.720 will
00:19:17.860 undertake
00:19:18.340 this
00:19:18.660 initiative
00:19:19.080 for
00:19:19.320 the
00:19:19.500 first
00:19:19.780 time
00:19:20.140 to
00:19:20.300 have
00:19:20.480 a
00:19:20.640 standalone
00:19:21.120 strand
00:19:21.740 in
00:19:21.940 African
00:19:22.240 American
00:19:22.700 history
00:19:23.220 but
00:19:24.260 the
00:19:24.620 question
00:19:25.020 of
00:19:25.260 what
00:19:25.440 its
00:19:25.620 fate
00:19:25.840 will
00:19:26.040 be
00:19:26.300 or
00:19:26.540 how
00:19:26.680 he
00:19:26.820 will
00:19:30.240 Florida
00:19:30.520 I
00:19:31.600 grew
00:19:32.000 up
00:19:32.160 a
00:19:32.280 Floridian
00:19:32.680 I'm
00:19:33.000 proud
00:19:33.420 of
00:19:33.820 my
00:19:34.020 past
00:19:34.480 in
00:19:34.700 Florida
00:19:35.040 but
00:19:36.100 I
00:19:36.220 don't
00:19:36.380 live
00:19:36.560 in
00:19:36.720 Florida
00:19:36.940 I
00:19:37.100 live
00:19:37.240 in
00:19:37.380 Maryland
00:19:37.740 and
00:19:38.940 I
00:19:39.220 therefore
00:19:39.520 don't
00:19:39.820 take
00:19:40.040 a
00:19:40.160 direct
00:19:40.460 hand
00:19:40.940 in
00:19:41.440 Florida
00:19:41.720 politics
00:19:42.400 and
00:19:42.800 certainly
00:19:43.120 I'm
00:19:43.340 involved
00:19:43.620 in
00:19:43.780 no
00:19:43.960 one's
00:19:44.280 campaign
00:19:44.800 and
00:19:46.880 you
00:19:47.160 would
00:19:47.760 you
00:19:47.980 want
00:19:48.440 them
00:19:48.700 to
00:19:49.000 change
00:19:49.300 anything
00:19:49.640 would
00:19:49.900 you
00:19:50.040 want
00:19:50.300 them
00:19:50.500 to
00:19:50.660 back
00:19:50.820 down
00:19:51.120 on
00:19:51.360 this
00:19:51.940 I
00:19:53.200 don't
00:19:53.420 think
00:19:53.700 anybody
00:19:54.160 could
00:19:54.660 intellectually
00:19:55.520 or
00:19:56.000 morally
00:19:56.440 justify
00:19:57.100 changing
00:19:57.860 what
00:19:58.340 has
00:19:58.560 been
00:19:58.860 established
00:19:59.540 in
00:19:59.860 this
00:20:00.100 case
00:20:00.500 for
00:20:01.040 the
00:20:01.220 clarity
00:20:01.800 is
00:20:02.700 irresistible
00:20:03.960 as
00:20:04.960 I
00:20:05.100 said
00:20:05.280 before
00:20:05.700 the
00:20:06.460 grammar
00:20:06.980 refutes
00:20:07.960 the
00:20:08.200 argument
00:20:08.700 against
00:20:09.260 it
00:20:09.540 so
00:20:10.080 one
00:20:10.280 doesn't
00:20:10.580 need
00:20:10.820 rhetoric
00:20:11.300 to
00:20:11.700 accomplish
00:20:12.080 that
00:20:12.360 purpose
00:20:12.860 wow
00:20:14.260 Dr.
00:20:15.080 William B.
00:20:15.560 Allen
00:20:15.720 thank you
00:20:16.280 so much
00:20:16.920 for
00:20:17.460 your
00:20:17.900 clarity
00:20:18.340 and for
00:20:19.020 coming on
00:20:19.500 to set
00:20:19.820 the record
00:20:20.260 straight
00:20:21.120 we
00:20:21.580 appreciate
00:20:21.960 it
00:20:22.220 you're
00:20:22.240 very
00:20:22.480 welcome
00:20:22.860 I
00:20:23.120 enjoyed
00:20:23.460 to be
00:20:23.780 with
00:20:24.000 you
00:20:24.240 likewise
00:20:25.460 wow
00:20:26.360 incredible
00:20:28.280 right
00:20:28.640 what a
00:20:29.140 great
00:20:29.380 guest
00:20:29.780 and
00:20:30.440 what
00:20:30.860 a
00:20:31.060 smart
00:20:31.660 thoughtful
00:20:32.480 person
00:20:33.000 I
00:20:33.380 want
00:20:33.920 someone
00:20:34.220 like
00:20:34.460 that
00:20:34.700 thinking
00:20:35.000 about
00:20:35.340 my
00:20:36.060 own
00:20:36.280 children's
00:20:36.760 curriculum
00:20:37.140 and
00:20:37.640 what
00:20:37.940 they
00:20:38.120 should
00:20:38.300 be
00:20:38.440 learning
00:20:38.780 after
00:20:39.840 keeping
00:20:40.460 the
00:20:40.640 doors
00:20:40.860 open
00:20:41.120 to
00:20:41.260 everybody
00:20:41.580 to
00:20:41.780 weigh
00:20:41.960 in
00:20:42.100 on
00:20:42.240 this
00:20:42.440 and
00:20:42.560 as
00:20:42.720 he
00:20:42.840 said
00:20:43.040 snakes
00:20:43.400 in
00:20:43.560 the
00:20:43.660 grass
00:20:44.060 lying
00:20:44.740 there
00:20:44.980 waiting
00:20:45.300 to
00:20:45.520 strike
00:20:45.800 so
00:20:46.180 well
00:20:46.440 said
00:20:46.760 we
00:20:47.420 have
00:20:47.580 much
00:20:47.880 much
00:20:48.300 more
00:20:48.760 as
00:20:49.000 Charles
00:20:49.340 C.W.
00:20:49.860 Cook
00:20:50.040 of

00:20:50.900 been
00:20:51.040 writing
00:20:51.340 all
00:20:56.360 I
00:20:56.560 do
00:20:57.040 not
00:20:57.240 believe
00:20:57.540 it
00:20:57.780 who
00:20:58.120 took
00:20:58.280 a

00:20:59.060 of
00:20:59.200 it
00:20:59.380 he's
00:21:00.100 here
00:21:00.200 to
00:21:00.300 weigh
00:21:00.440 in
00:21:01.400 on
00:21:01.780 that
00:21:02.300 piece
00:21:02.680 of
00:21:02.820 it
00:21:03.020 and
00:21:03.540 the
00:21:03.680 politics
00:21:04.060 of
00:21:04.280 it
00:21:04.360 all
00:21:04.580 next
00:21:26.360 men
00:21:26.680 in

00:21:27.720 who
00:21:28.540 did
00:21:28.840 the
00:21:29.200 bold
00:21:30.280 thing
00:21:30.800 and
00:21:31.340 actually
00:21:31.580 took
00:21:31.860 a
00:21:32.000 look
00:21:32.240 at
00:21:33.040 the
00:21:33.480 standards
00:21:34.320 the
00:21:34.840 DOE
00:21:35.240 standards
00:21:35.660 that
00:21:35.900 had
00:21:36.040 been
00:21:36.380 getting
00:21:36.940 bandied
00:21:37.360 about
00:21:37.640 as
00:21:37.880 this
00:21:38.060 racist
00:21:38.500 trope
00:21:38.940 that
00:21:39.080 eliminates
00:21:39.540 the
00:21:39.840 teaching
00:21:40.140 of
00:21:40.360 Rosa
00:21:40.700 Parks
00:21:41.100 that
00:21:41.300 bans
00:21:41.820 Rosa
00:21:42.200 Parks
00:21:42.560 as
00:21:42.860 CNN
00:21:43.220 actually
00:21:43.920 claimed
00:21:44.460 because
00:21:46.360 of this
00:21:46.820 one line
00:21:47.500 and said
00:21:48.120 this is
00:21:48.420 a lie
00:21:48.800 don't
00:21:49.120 believe
00:21:49.380 it
00:21:49.520 don't
00:21:49.720 believe
00:21:49.920 the
00:21:50.020 vice
00:21:50.180 president
00:21:50.520 don't
00:21:51.060 believe
00:21:51.240 any
00:21:51.420 of
00:21:51.540 this
00:21:51.640 nonsense
00:21:52.180 now
00:21:52.840 you
00:21:52.980 hear
00:21:53.240 Dr.
00:21:54.420 I mean
00:21:54.980 he was
00:21:55.280 unbelievable
00:21:55.720 right
00:21:56.080 and
00:21:57.520 yet
00:21:57.960 it
00:21:58.220 won't
00:21:58.480 dissuade
00:21:58.840 anyone
00:21:59.120 on the
00:21:59.400 left
00:21:59.540 Charles
00:21:59.860 from
00:22:00.120 continuing
00:22:00.560 these
00:22:00.820 lies
00:22:01.180 least
00:22:01.740 of all
00:22:02.200 the
00:22:02.460 sitting
00:22:02.740 vice
00:22:03.040 president
00:22:03.500 I think
00:22:05.820 the main
00:22:06.120 reason
00:22:06.380 for that
00:22:06.820 is
00:22:07.440 that
00:22:08.080 the
00:22:08.840 people
00:22:09.120 who
00:22:09.280 are
00:22:09.420 spreading
00:22:09.740 this
00:22:10.220 seem
00:22:11.320 genuinely
00:22:11.960 to
00:22:12.280 believe
00:22:12.760 that
00:22:13.320 Florida
00:22:13.760 and
00:22:14.240 its
00:22:14.480 government
00:22:14.900 and
00:22:15.980 those
00:22:17.400 who
00:22:17.560 voted
00:22:17.900 for
00:22:18.300 it
00:22:18.600 want
00:22:19.660 to
00:22:19.860 down
00:22:20.320 play
00:22:20.860 the
00:22:21.080 history
00:22:21.380 of
00:22:21.600 slavery
00:22:21.920 or
00:22:22.180 even
00:22:22.500 worse
00:22:23.520 I think
00:22:24.380 in your
00:22:24.700 last
00:22:25.040 segment
00:22:25.340 you
00:22:25.780 cited
00:22:26.320 someone
00:22:26.680 who
00:22:26.920 had
00:22:27.100 said
00:22:27.320 that
00:22:27.600 the
00:22:28.240 governor
00:22:28.500 of
00:22:28.660 Florida
00:22:28.880 is
00:22:29.080 pro
00:22:29.820 slavery
00:22:30.700 this
00:22:31.540 is
00:22:33.760 absurd
00:22:34.580 look
00:22:35.200 I
00:22:35.560 live
00:22:36.260 here
00:22:36.720 and
00:22:37.300 I
00:22:37.460 care
00:22:37.660 about
00:22:37.900 this
00:22:38.200 not
00:22:38.540 because
00:22:38.900 of
00:22:39.120 Governor
00:22:39.540 DeSantis
00:22:40.000 but
00:22:40.300 because
00:22:40.780 this
00:22:41.120 is
00:22:41.280 the
00:22:41.580 curriculum
00:22:42.020 for
00:22:42.400 the
00:22:42.560 state
00:22:42.860 in which
00:22:43.200 my
00:22:43.380 children
00:22:43.740 go to
00:22:44.340 school
00:22:44.640 you
00:22:45.700 can
00:22:46.000 look
00:22:46.300 up
00:22:46.560 and
00:22:47.220 I
00:22:47.340 would
00:22:47.460 encourage
00:22:47.760 anyone
00:22:48.020 listening
00:22:48.380 to
00:22:48.520 this
00:22:48.640 to
00:22:48.780 do
00:22:49.000 so
00:22:49.260 what
00:22:49.960 I
00:22:50.100 have
00:22:50.260 written
00:22:50.480 about
00:22:50.860 the
00:22:51.280 racial
00:22:51.580 history
00:22:51.960 of the
00:22:54.380 12
00:22:54.640 years
00:22:55.000 since
00:22:55.420 I
00:22:55.700 moved
00:22:56.180 here
00:22:56.440 I
00:22:57.220 have
00:22:57.320 been
00:22:57.440 unequivocal
00:22:57.920 about
00:22:58.300 it
00:22:58.540 in
00:22:59.040 print
00:22:59.520 on
00:23:00.020 the
00:23:00.120 radio
00:23:00.440 and
00:23:00.820 in
00:23:00.940 my
00:23:01.100 book
00:23:01.400 it
00:23:01.680 was
00:23:01.800 a
00:23:01.940 monstrous
00:23:02.360 tyranny
00:23:02.800 I
00:23:03.480 think
00:23:03.620 that
00:23:03.780 word
00:23:04.020 is
00:23:04.200 the
00:23:04.420 right
00:23:04.840 one
00:23:05.180 George
00:23:06.120 III
00:23:06.440 did
00:23:06.660 not
00:23:06.840 really
00:23:07.120 present
00:23:07.440 a
00:23:07.600 tyranny
00:23:07.900 I'm
00:23:08.240 glad
00:23:08.380 the
00:23:08.540 revolution
00:23:08.900 happened
00:23:09.280 the
00:23:09.520 tyranny
00:23:09.900 in
00:23:10.060 the
00:23:10.160 United
00:23:10.400 States
00:23:10.780 was
00:23:10.980 slavery
00:23:11.360 and
00:23:11.900 segregation
00:23:12.340 I
00:23:12.700 have
00:23:12.880 a
00:23:13.060 great
00:23:13.360 interest
00:23:13.800 in
00:23:13.960 this
00:23:14.100 being
00:23:14.320 taught
00:23:14.700 accurately
00:23:15.440 the
00:23:16.180 reason
00:23:16.380 I'm
00:23:16.580 so
00:23:24.380 even
00:23:24.540 making
00:23:25.220 slavery
00:23:25.600 look
00:23:25.860 as if
00:23:26.160 it
00:23:26.240 was
00:23:26.400 a
00:23:26.500 net
00:23:26.640 positive
00:23:26.980 when
00:23:27.780 the
00:23:27.980 course
00:23:28.240 does
00:23:28.480 nothing
00:23:28.860 of
00:23:29.220 the
00:23:29.460 sort
00:23:29.860 this
00:23:30.740 is
00:23:30.860 what
00:23:30.960 I
00:23:31.080 call
00:23:31.220 control
00:23:31.700 F
00:23:32.100 politics
00:23:33.020 they
00:23:34.000 search
00:23:34.460 for
00:23:34.680 a
00:23:34.860 word
00:23:35.180 that
00:23:35.400 word
00:23:35.560 being
00:23:35.760 benefit
00:23:36.260 in
00:23:36.900 one
00:23:37.220 line
00:23:37.560 out
00:23:37.980 of
00:23:38.080 the
00:23:38.220 191
00:23:39.680 references
00:23:40.140 to
00:23:40.500 slaves
00:23:41.000 slavery
00:23:41.760 abolition
00:23:42.760 and so
00:23:43.620 on
00:23:43.840 in
00:23:44.560 the
00:23:44.880 curriculum
00:23:45.340 they
00:23:45.900 took
00:23:46.140 it
00:23:46.260 out
00:23:46.420 of
00:23:46.540 context
00:23:47.040 and
00:23:47.540 they
00:23:47.660 are
00:23:47.780 using
00:23:48.160 that
00:23:48.560 to
00:23:48.860 pretend
00:23:49.460 that
00:23:49.720 Florida
00:23:50.040 is
00:23:50.280 doing
00:23:50.540 something
00:23:50.920 that
00:23:51.360 it
00:23:51.480 is
00:23:54.380 alleges
00:23:54.960 that
00:23:55.480 would
00:23:55.660 be
00:23:55.840 truly
00:23:56.220 evil
00:23:56.940 it
00:23:57.500 would
00:23:57.600 be
00:23:57.740 evil
00:23:58.140 to
00:23:58.560 insist
00:23:59.260 that
00:23:59.960 slavery
00:24:00.340 was
00:24:00.600 a
00:24:00.700 net
00:24:00.860 good
00:24:01.060 or
00:24:01.240 that
00:24:01.360 it
00:24:01.480 didn't
00:24:01.720 matter
00:24:01.980 a
00:24:02.140 great
00:24:02.260 deal
00:24:02.460 to
00:24:02.620 the
00:24:02.760 slaves
00:24:03.080 or
00:24:03.220 that
00:24:03.340 slaves
00:24:03.580 benefited
00:24:04.040 from
00:24:04.280 it
00:24:04.440 but
00:24:04.940 it's
00:24:05.380 not
00:24:05.680 this
00:24:05.940 is
00:24:06.020 a
00:24:06.160 comprehensive
00:24:06.720 course
00:24:07.620 that
00:24:08.180 makes
00:24:08.420 it
00:24:08.560 abundantly
00:24:09.040 clear
00:24:09.440 that
00:24:10.080 slavery
00:24:10.460 was
00:24:10.940 a
00:24:11.540 moral
00:24:12.080 wrong
00:24:12.520 that
00:24:12.960 it
00:24:13.080 led
00:24:13.260 to
00:24:13.400 death
00:24:13.720 and
00:24:13.880 destruction
00:24:14.360 and
00:24:14.980 oppression
00:24:15.520 that
00:24:16.120 slaves
00:24:16.440 tried
00:24:16.680 to
00:24:16.840 escape
00:24:17.220 from
00:24:17.480 it
00:24:17.660 that
00:24:18.140 southern
00:24:18.540 states
00:24:19.000 including
00:24:19.500 Florida
00:24:19.880 tried
00:24:20.260 to
00:24:20.480 stop
00:24:20.880 them
00:24:21.100 and
00:24:21.720 that
00:24:21.960 the
00:24:22.400 racial
00:24:23.520 discrimination
00:24:24.100 that
00:24:24.820 had
00:24:25.000 caused
00:24:25.340 it
00:24:25.520 and
00:24:25.740 that
00:24:25.920 flowed
00:24:26.340 from
00:24:26.600 it
00:24:26.860 carried
00:24:27.780 on
00:24:28.140 for
00:24:28.380 a
00:24:28.580 long
00:24:28.900 time
00:24:29.500 throughout
00:24:30.320 Jim Crow
00:24:30.980 ending
00:24:31.400 up
00:24:31.660 as the
00:24:31.980 course
00:24:32.240 does
00:24:32.560 with
00:24:32.780 the
00:24:32.940 integration
00:24:33.560 of
00:24:34.480 the
00:24:34.640 University
00:24:35.240 of
00:24:35.560 Florida
00:24:35.820 this
00:24:36.100 is
00:24:36.280 just
00:24:36.700 flatly
00:24:37.500 false
00:24:38.200 and
00:24:39.820 yet
00:24:40.020 you
00:24:40.280 will
00:24:40.720 not
00:24:41.300 hear
00:24:41.800 that
00:24:42.200 on
00:24:42.880 the
00:24:43.020 mainstream
00:24:43.420 news
00:24:44.100 today
00:24:44.700 or
00:24:45.120 this
00:24:45.380 week
00:24:45.680 the
00:24:46.200 reason
00:24:46.540 I
00:24:46.820 agree
00:24:47.140 with
00:24:47.360 Dr.
00:24:47.680 Allen
00:24:47.920 is
00:24:48.220 politics
00:24:48.920 but
00:24:49.600 this
00:24:49.980 is
00:24:50.360 the
00:24:50.560 messaging
00:24:50.980 here's
00:24:51.520 a
00:24:51.700 it's
00:24:52.360 a
00:24:52.460 budded
00:24:52.660 soundbite
00:24:53.040 of
00:24:53.160 a
00:24:53.280 bunch
00:24:53.440 of
00:24:53.580 lefties
00:24:53.940 and
00:24:54.500 those
00:24:54.760 in
00:24:54.860 the
00:24:54.940 media
00:24:55.160 trying
00:24:55.600 to
00:24:56.020 put
00:24:56.620 their
00:24:56.840 spin
00:24:57.300 on
00:24:58.180 what
00:24:58.480 actually
00:24:58.900 is
00:24:59.100 happening
00:24:59.420 according
00:24:59.700 to
00:24:59.860 them
00:25:00.080 in
00:25:00.220 Florida
00:25:00.460 because
00:25:00.740 of
00:25:01.140 this
00:25:01.400 one
00:25:01.720 line
00:25:02.040 take
00:25:02.420 a
00:25:02.520 listen
00:25:02.700 how
00:25:04.220 dare
00:25:04.820 you
00:25:05.060 shame
00:25:05.600 on
00:25:05.880 you
00:25:06.080 people
00:25:06.460 in
00:25:06.700 Florida
00:25:06.980 how
00:25:07.260 dare
00:25:07.720 you
00:25:08.000 try
00:25:08.440 to
00:25:08.640 whitewash
00:25:09.340 slavery
00:25:10.180 this
00:25:10.580 is
00:25:10.720 happening
00:25:11.040 in
00:25:11.280 Florida
00:25:11.560 this
00:25:12.440 is
00:25:12.580 happening
00:25:12.880 in
00:25:13.080 a
00:25:13.200 Florida
00:25:13.480 where
00:25:14.260 you
00:25:14.380 have
00:25:14.540 a
00:25:14.680 governor
00:25:14.960 who
00:25:15.560 has
00:25:16.100 an
00:25:16.420 anti-woke
00:25:17.160 bill
00:25:17.480 who
00:25:18.020 has
00:25:18.400 a
00:25:18.560 don't
00:25:18.820 say
00:25:19.000 gay
00:25:19.260 bill
00:25:19.580 who
00:25:20.140 wants
00:25:20.520 to
00:25:20.900 ban
00:25:21.400 DEI
00:25:22.000 programs
00:25:22.660 who
00:25:23.280 wants
00:25:23.620 to
00:25:23.800 ban
00:25:25.020 Rosa
00:25:25.340 Parks
00:25:25.780 this
00:25:26.180 would
00:25:26.340 be
00:25:26.460 like
00:25:26.660 teaching
00:25:26.940 the
00:25:27.160 Holocaust
00:25:27.480 saying
00:25:28.240 that
00:25:28.420 there
00:25:28.540 were
00:25:28.680 some
00:25:28.860 good
00:25:29.100 things
00:25:29.780 that
00:25:30.080 Jewish
00:25:30.580 brothers
00:25:30.900 and
00:25:31.120 sisters
00:25:35.060 survive
00:25:35.660 would
00:25:36.140 be
00:25:36.480 helpful
00:25:37.460 for
00:25:37.720 them
00:25:38.000 to
00:25:38.620 make
00:25:38.780 their
00:25:38.940 way
00:25:39.120 in
00:25:39.260 life
00:25:39.440 my
00:25:39.720 rule
00:25:40.160 in
00:25:41.140 writing
00:25:41.500 columns
00:25:42.000 has
00:25:42.180 always
00:25:42.480 been
00:25:42.680 never
00:25:43.320 compare
00:25:43.860 anything
00:25:44.360 to
00:25:45.060 the
00:25:45.200 Holocaust
00:25:45.560 and
00:25:46.140 never
00:25:46.460 compare
00:25:46.860 anything
00:25:47.320 to
00:25:47.920 American
00:25:48.240 slavery
00:25:48.660 because
00:25:49.060 they
00:25:49.400 were
00:25:49.600 both
00:25:49.960 unique
00:25:50.500 horrors
00:25:51.640 and
00:25:52.060 these
00:25:52.780 standards
00:25:53.400 break
00:25:53.760 that
00:25:53.960 rule
00:25:54.240 and
00:25:54.580 for
00:25:54.740 this
00:25:55.000 man
00:25:55.500 Rhonda
00:25:55.900 Sanders
00:25:56.320 was
00:25:56.520 apparently
00:25:56.940 his
00:25:57.220 only
00:25:57.700 skill
00:25:58.360 that
00:25:58.560 he
00:25:58.760 has
00:25:58.980 acquired
00:25:59.440 is
00:26:00.000 lying
00:26:00.640 and
00:26:00.880 creating
00:26:01.300 culture
00:26:01.760 wars
00:26:02.080 that
00:26:02.220 he
00:26:02.380 thinks
00:26:02.700 are
00:26:03.100 going
00:26:03.300 to
00:26:03.460 make
00:26:03.720 him
00:26:03.880 president
00:26:04.280 the
00:26:06.660 dishonesty
00:26:07.220 is
00:26:07.420 stomach
00:26:07.700 turning
00:26:08.040 it's
00:26:10.540 astonishing
00:26:11.100 I mean
00:26:11.600 there's
00:26:11.900 two
00:26:12.160 problems
00:26:12.720 here
00:26:13.000 the
00:26:13.240 first
00:26:13.540 one
00:26:13.960 is
00:26:14.580 that
00:26:15.040 this
00:26:15.280 line
00:26:15.560 has
00:26:15.740 been
00:26:15.960 extracted
00:26:16.580 and
00:26:17.300 miscast
00:26:18.440 from
00:26:19.540 a
00:26:19.840 sea
00:26:20.400 of
00:26:21.920 appropriate
00:26:22.720 instruction
00:26:23.620 the
00:26:24.420 second
00:26:24.780 problem
00:26:25.260 is
00:26:26.280 that
00:26:26.800 progressives
00:26:27.700 have
00:26:28.120 inverted
00:26:28.920 their
00:26:29.300 usual
00:26:29.780 attitude
00:26:30.280 toward
00:26:30.880 the
00:26:31.440 teaching
00:26:31.880 of
00:26:32.560 this
00:26:32.780 sort
00:26:33.020 of
00:26:33.180 history
00:26:33.480 and
00:26:33.780 Dr.
00:26:34.180 Allen
00:26:34.460 touched
00:26:34.860 on
00:26:35.100 this
00:26:35.360 in
00:26:35.740 the
00:26:36.200 previous
00:26:36.500 segment
00:26:36.880 when
00:26:37.180 I
00:26:37.340 was
00:26:37.480 at
00:26:37.620 Oxford
00:26:37.920 studying
00:26:38.520 history
00:26:39.020 I
00:26:39.720 had
00:26:40.040 a
00:26:40.520 professor
00:26:40.940 who
00:26:41.500 was
00:26:41.760 a
00:26:42.280 progressive
00:26:42.660 probably
00:26:43.180 more
00:26:43.660 Marxist
00:26:44.400 you might
00:26:44.720 even
00:26:44.940 say
00:26:45.160 he
00:26:45.380 was
00:26:45.500 an
00:26:45.620 open
00:26:45.840 minded
00:26:46.080 guy
00:26:46.380 I
00:26:46.560 liked
00:26:46.800 him
00:26:46.900 a
00:26:47.020 great
00:26:47.180 deal
00:26:47.400 and
00:26:47.540 one
00:26:47.680 of
00:26:47.760 the
00:26:47.860 things
00:26:48.080 he
00:26:48.300 used
00:26:48.480 to
00:26:48.600 say
00:26:48.780 to
00:26:48.940 me
00:26:49.140 was
00:26:49.820 Abraham
00:26:50.300 Lincoln
00:26:50.740 was
00:26:50.980 not
00:26:51.180 the
00:26:51.360 only
00:26:51.600 man
00:26:51.880 with
00:26:52.040 agency
00:26:52.600 you
00:26:53.040 know
00:26:53.280 I
00:26:53.460 can
00:26:53.640 hear
00:26:54.380 him
00:26:54.560 saying
00:26:54.800 it
00:26:54.920 now
00:27:03.480 and
00:27:03.740 under
00:27:04.100 the
00:27:04.720 Holocaust
00:27:05.220 for
00:27:05.640 that
00:27:05.820 matter
00:27:06.160 were
00:27:06.620 of
00:27:06.800 course
00:27:07.020 victims
00:27:07.560 they
00:27:08.020 were
00:27:08.160 not
00:27:08.440 only
00:27:08.980 victims
00:27:09.520 that
00:27:10.520 they
00:27:10.660 were
00:27:10.800 also
00:27:11.180 people
00:27:11.700 and
00:27:12.460 that
00:27:12.600 it
00:27:12.700 does
00:27:12.880 a
00:27:13.020 great
00:27:13.260 disservice
00:27:13.800 to
00:27:14.060 treat
00:27:14.340 them
00:27:14.620 as
00:27:14.940 some
00:27:15.340 inhuman
00:27:16.380 undifferentiated
00:27:17.860 mass
00:27:18.440 of
00:27:18.880 widgets
00:27:19.400 that
00:27:20.480 of
00:27:20.820 course
00:27:21.340 this
00:27:22.260 was
00:27:22.480 a
00:27:22.700 massive
00:27:23.280 historical
00:27:23.920 disgrace
00:27:24.740 but
00:27:25.500 that
00:27:25.660 doesn't
00:27:26.240 mean
00:27:26.620 that
00:27:27.120 you
00:27:27.260 don't
00:27:27.580 tell
00:27:27.840 the
00:27:28.060 stories
00:27:28.460 of
00:27:28.640 the
00:27:28.780 people
00:27:29.140 who
00:27:29.980 lived
00:27:30.560 within
00:27:30.960 it
00:27:31.220 it
00:27:31.840 is
00:27:32.080 not
00:27:32.600 in
00:27:33.220 any
00:27:33.660 way
00:27:34.060 to
00:27:34.960 endorse
00:27:35.360 slavery
00:27:35.860 to
00:27:36.240 point
00:27:36.620 out
00:27:37.080 that
00:27:37.860 some
00:27:38.220 slaves
00:27:38.840 developed
00:27:39.360 skills
00:27:39.880 that
00:27:40.260 they
00:27:40.440 subsequently
00:27:40.940 used
00:27:41.460 for
00:27:41.820 their
00:27:42.040 own
00:27:42.220 benefit
00:27:42.540 either
00:27:42.820 to
00:27:43.080 purchase
00:27:43.640 or
00:27:44.500 achieve
00:27:44.820 their
00:27:45.040 manumission
00:27:45.600 or
00:27:46.300 after
00:27:46.700 the
00:27:46.920 civil
00:27:47.160 war
00:27:47.560 when
00:27:48.820 slavery
00:27:49.320 was
00:27:49.880 mercifully
00:27:50.800 ended
00:27:51.820 that
00:27:52.540 is a
00:27:52.860 logical
00:27:53.220 fallacy
00:27:53.800 and
00:27:54.380 in
00:27:54.560 most

00:29:36.720 it's
00:29:37.600 an

00:30:22.640 are

00:30:42.080 that I

00:31:00.420 of course
00:31:01.060 it is
00:31:01.420 actually
00:31:01.660 predominantly
00:31:02.220 true
00:31:02.620 that

00:31:16.120 quite
00:31:17.180 obviously

00:31:23.020 curriculum
00:31:23.480 does
00:31:24.100 there's
00:31:24.400 a whole
00:31:24.720 section
00:31:25.100 on that
00:31:26.300 now
00:31:26.720 are we
00:31:27.360 to assume
00:31:28.060 that anyone
00:31:29.240 in the
00:31:29.560 United
00:31:29.820 States
00:31:30.340 who has
00:31:30.800 said
00:31:31.040 at any
00:31:31.380 point
00:31:31.660 what I
00:31:31.960 just
00:31:32.180 did
00:31:32.500 which
00:31:33.160 was
00:31:33.540 that
00:31:33.680 we
00:31:33.800 should
00:31:33.980 celebrate
00:31:34.580 those
00:31:35.780 slaves
00:31:36.640 who
00:31:36.860 fought
00:31:37.360 alongside
00:31:37.980 and within
00:31:38.760 the
00:31:39.000 Union
00:31:39.240 Army
00:31:39.540 for their
00:31:40.020 own
00:31:40.220 manumission
00:31:40.820 that
00:31:41.800 celebrating
00:31:42.660 them
00:31:43.200 is an
00:31:44.440 endorsement
00:31:44.940 of slavery
00:31:45.440 that you're
00:31:46.000 pleased that
00:31:46.720 slavery
00:31:47.040 happened
00:31:47.520 of course
00:31:48.060 you're
00:31:48.260 not
00:31:48.460 as I
00:31:48.980 say
00:31:49.100 this is
00:31:49.480 a silly
00:31:50.120 logical
00:31:51.180 fallacy
00:31:52.020 that in
00:31:52.420 almost any
00:31:53.120 other
00:31:53.360 circumstance
00:31:53.920 would be
00:31:54.700 immediately
00:31:55.240 recognized
00:31:56.060 as such
00:31:56.760 the
00:31:58.580 politics of
00:32:00.380 it are
00:32:00.560 obvious
00:32:00.940 I played
00:32:01.980 the soundbite
00:32:02.480 from
00:32:02.920 Will Hurd
00:32:03.780 who was
00:32:04.600 attacking
00:32:04.920 Ron DeSantis
00:32:05.560 because he's
00:32:06.520 running for
00:32:06.800 president
00:32:07.160 right so he
00:32:07.780 sees an
00:32:08.100 opportunity
00:32:08.500 and has
00:32:10.140 repeated
00:32:10.560 something I've
00:32:11.080 heard in
00:32:11.300 other corners
00:32:11.700 about DeSantis
00:32:12.340 allegedly failing
00:32:13.400 here saying
00:32:14.620 oh DeSantis
00:32:15.500 showed his
00:32:16.020 lack of
00:32:16.480 leadership
00:32:17.040 by acting
00:32:18.140 like it
00:32:18.540 was somebody
00:32:19.120 else's
00:32:19.680 fault
00:32:20.180 right I
00:32:20.840 played that
00:32:21.640 in part
00:32:22.100 in the
00:32:22.360 soundbite
00:32:22.820 and what
00:32:23.500 he's
00:32:23.720 talking about
00:32:24.360 is yesterday
00:32:24.960 Ron DeSantis
00:32:25.600 was asked
00:32:26.280 about this
00:32:26.920 and in one
00:32:27.820 of his
00:32:28.080 answers he
00:32:28.840 said I
00:32:30.080 didn't do
00:32:30.540 it it
00:32:30.860 wasn't me
00:32:31.500 and now
00:32:32.140 that's getting
00:32:32.480 plucked out
00:32:33.100 by his
00:32:33.440 detractors
00:32:34.020 to say oh
00:32:34.460 he's
00:32:34.740 shirking
00:32:35.060 responsibility
00:32:35.780 oh who
00:32:36.260 me
00:32:36.500 well we
00:32:37.360 pulled the
00:32:38.080 longer
00:32:39.000 exchange
00:32:39.600 including
00:32:39.960 the question
00:32:40.780 that was
00:32:41.100 asked of
00:32:41.680 Ron DeSantis
00:32:42.280 in response
00:32:43.600 to which
00:32:44.060 he said
00:32:44.760 that
00:32:45.200 here it
00:32:45.980 is
00:32:46.320 your
00:32:47.880 clarification
00:32:48.460 on one
00:32:48.960 thing
00:32:49.180 within the
00:32:49.700 policy
00:32:50.060 it says
00:32:50.480 instruction
00:32:51.000 includes
00:32:51.540 how slaves
00:32:52.080 develop
00:32:52.420 skills
00:32:52.860 which in
00:32:53.320 some
00:32:53.540 instances
00:32:53.960 could be
00:32:55.580 applied
00:32:55.920 for their
00:32:56.260 personal
00:32:56.640 benefit
00:32:57.060 could you
00:32:57.400 just explain
00:32:57.960 well you
00:32:58.400 should talk
00:32:58.820 to them
00:32:59.160 about it
00:32:59.480 I mean
00:32:59.560 I didn't
00:32:59.960 do it
00:33:00.360 I wasn't
00:33:00.920 involved
00:33:01.240 in it
00:33:01.660 but I
00:33:02.380 think
00:33:02.680 what they're
00:33:03.780 doing
00:33:04.120 is I
00:33:04.440 think
00:33:04.660 that they're
00:33:05.060 probably
00:33:05.500 going to
00:33:05.860 show
00:33:06.260 some of
00:33:07.800 the folks
00:33:08.380 that
00:33:08.800 eventually
00:33:09.380 parlayed
00:33:10.720 you know
00:33:11.580 being a
00:33:12.180 blacksmith
00:33:12.740 into
00:33:13.460 doing
00:33:14.080 things
00:33:14.440 later
00:33:14.700 in life
00:33:15.540 but the
00:33:16.480 reality
00:33:16.860 is
00:33:17.180 all of
00:33:17.600 that
00:33:17.760 is
00:33:17.920 rooted
00:33:18.240 in
00:33:18.480 whatever
00:33:18.820 is
00:33:19.120 factual
00:33:19.580 these
00:33:20.060 were
00:33:20.260 scholars
00:33:20.800 who put
00:33:21.380 that
00:33:21.560 together
00:33:22.020 was not
00:33:22.780 anything
00:33:23.100 that was
00:33:23.760 done
00:33:24.520 politically
00:33:25.060 so she
00:33:27.240 says to
00:33:27.780 him
00:33:28.040 could you
00:33:28.860 just
00:33:29.160 explain
00:33:29.660 it
00:33:29.920 explain
00:33:30.760 that
00:33:31.080 well he
00:33:31.740 wasn't
00:33:32.100 on the
00:33:32.460 13 person
00:33:33.100 commission
00:33:33.520 he's
00:33:34.320 saying
00:33:34.660 I wasn't
00:33:35.260 there
00:33:35.620 but
00:33:36.460 this is
00:33:36.880 my
00:33:37.040 understanding
00:33:37.560 of it
00:33:38.000 and now
00:33:38.560 you've
00:33:38.740 got his
00:33:39.020 political
00:33:39.380 detractors
00:33:39.940 even on
00:33:40.260 the right
00:33:40.660 trying to
00:33:41.400 say oh
00:33:41.920 lack of
00:33:42.320 leadership
00:33:42.720 oh look
00:33:43.500 at him
00:33:43.700 trying to
00:33:44.040 distance
00:33:44.320 himself
00:33:44.620 he's
00:33:44.820 not
00:33:44.940 trying to
00:33:45.180 distance
00:33:45.440 himself
00:33:45.760 at all
00:33:46.340 so I
00:33:48.360 certainly
00:33:48.600 don't think
00:33:48.920 he's
00:33:49.020 trying to
00:33:49.280 distance
00:33:49.580 himself
00:33:49.920 and
00:33:50.080 everything
00:33:50.300 he said
00:33:50.660 was
00:33:50.820 correct
00:33:51.060 I
00:33:51.320 actually
00:33:51.560 don't
00:33:51.780 think
00:33:51.880 that's
00:33:55.060 just as a
00:34:07.980 political matter I would have liked to have seen the sort of Ron DeSantis answer that we saw during COVID where he set the context and was a master of the detail it is of course true that he didn't contrive this curriculum the curriculum was built by people such as your last guest but Ronald Reagan would have answered that question a lot better
00:34:22.960 I suspect I suspect I suspect I suspect I suspect I suspect I suspect I suspect I suspect he hadn't expected the question or looked into it too deeply but I understand those who say this was not DeSantis' finest moment I'm among them certainly I think Will Hurd's objection is silly and opportunistic and driven by his wanting to be the Republican nominee
00:34:47.880 the fact that the fact that the fact that the fact that the fact that the fact that the fact that the fact that the question was asked at all though shows you the sheer power that the left still has within the press and within academia I have to say and I'm sure this sounds naive I have been somewhat astonished that they have managed to put this into the ether and communicate it as widely as they have overnight I mean this this was contrived out of whole cloth
00:35:16.100 and now it is a major topic of conversation and now it is a major topic of conversation that you and I are discussing and I've written about three times and that all sorts of people who don't follow the news closely are going to believe
00:35:29.940 I mean I have absolutely no time for any of the people that you played in those clips reiterating this they are being indignant for applause and clicks they should have taken the time to look at the curriculum as I did when I first learned about this before they commented on it
00:35:45.720 but there are tens of millions of people out there who follow the news passively maybe they're sitting in a bar and they see a chyron at the bottom maybe they just see a headline maybe someone tells them a third party or a friend and they don't look into this because they trust the media to tell them the truth and in this case the media simply has not told them the truth
00:36:04.280 you see the vice president making the emergency trip to Florida you say oh my god what is it why is she doing that and the the outrage of Anna Navarro you think oh she's really angry what's what did he do and it's on the heels of them saying they're banning books in Florida without telling you it shows you know a young boy getting fellated like we don't need that in our children's you don't want your children going into grade school and seeing that they they and it's not banned you can get it on Amazon if you want that in front of your child
00:36:31.280 you're a sicko if you do but you certainly shouldn't want it in K through 12 education so this is a narrative they're building about him if I were Ron DeSantis I have to tell you Charles I would I would be thrilled this is happening to me it's earned media it's exactly how Trump became president yet another controversy that keeps you in the news no one in the GOP field can get any oxygen past the Trump indictments enter Ron DeSantis with a controversy he didn't even create he should be like he did when he was a little league slugger hitting it out of the park he should be batting the balls
00:37:01.260 at an alarming rate welcoming this fight at every a fight with Kamala Harris the least popular politician in America I mean if his team is not telling him to get out in front of every single microphone and sing from the rafters about how wrong she is and dishonest then they're failing him
00:37:18.780 yes and hopefully next time he talks about this he does so comprehensively and pugnaciously and I think probably with some context I do think it's really important to say when you're discussing this issue look slavery was a great evil in this country and it stained this country's history and that's why we're teaching it properly in Florida
00:37:41.780 as I say I would be really upset if this were true it's one of the reasons that I immediately looked up the whole course and read the entire thing and actually printed out the entire thing at National Review so that people could see it
00:37:54.360 is because this would be a big problem if it were true and I think DeSantis should say that I think his next answer ought to be better
00:38:01.080 that said it's not his fault that Kamala Harris has done this it's not his fault that having been told that she was wrong she flew down to Florida and repeated the lie
00:38:09.900 it's not his fault that the press has picked up on this and broadcast it around the world it's not his fault that Ana Navarro behaves like that that is on the media and it's a disgrace I mean how does this help the country how does this help the country if this were true it would be something to point to but it's not so what are they doing they are once again asked with the lies about book banning and so forth
00:38:36.600 they are once again diminishing the conception of 20 million of their fellow citizens Floridians in the imaginations of the rest of the country
00:38:49.420 they are dividing people by race on the basis of a falsehood and they are subordinating their role which is to convey information to the public to their political preferences in an attempt to get at a presidential candidate
00:39:03.860 and I'm just so sick of it I'm so tired of it I didn't start writing about this because I want to defend Ron DeSantis
00:39:10.600 I started writing about this as I often do because I'm a Floridian and this really annoys me
00:39:15.720 it annoys me when Florida was lied about during COVID and high profile people within the media started saying Floridiots
00:39:23.160 it annoys me when they lied about the so-called don't say gay bill
00:39:26.960 it annoyed me when they've lied about these so-called book bans that are in almost every case nothing of the sort
00:39:33.180 and this annoys me as well because I don't spend my days doing this about people in New York or Michigan
00:39:39.280 or Wyoming right it just seems because you don't need a lie direction you don't need to lie to point out their insanity
00:39:45.500 you don't need to the left will give you plenty of actual examples from which you can work
00:39:49.500 so I agree it's not Ron DeSantis's fault but it is his chance to show us the fighter that many of us fell in love with
00:39:56.620 when he was fighting those battles back during COVID and to set the record straight against again one of the least
00:40:01.900 likable politicians in America Kamala Harris who has made him and Florida school children her target
00:40:08.180 so fair game let's go at it by the way I'm interviewing him this week it airs on Friday you can bet this is going to come up
00:40:15.600 let's shift gears because speaking of dishonesty in in the press there's been a near total blackout of the allegations
00:40:24.400 against Hunter Biden and Joe Biden it's not just Hunter Biden it's also whether Joe Biden was involved
00:40:31.100 possibly took a bribe as the sitting vice president as this FBI forum suggests may have happened we do not
00:40:37.900 do not know whether that's true um but an investigative press would want to get to the bottom of it we don't
00:40:43.700 have an a curious investigative press anymore and yesterday there was a big development in the White House
00:40:50.460 messaging on just how involved Joe may have been in Hunter's business affairs Miranda Devine has been
00:40:56.120 saying it wasn't Joe involved in Hunter's business business affairs it was Joe's business affairs that
00:41:01.760 he used Hunter to execute on an important distinction and a possibility people need to keep in mind
00:41:06.800 um all along from when he was running for president he said I have never talked to my son or anyone in my
00:41:12.720 family about their business dealings and then yesterday a shift a shift in how the White House
00:41:19.580 discussed this issue and it was an important one we've put together a montage of the previous
00:41:25.040 statements the last statement in here will be Karine Jean-Pierre yesterday changing the wording in a way
00:41:30.960 that's going to prove important watch I have never discussed with my son or my brother or anyone else
00:41:38.680 anything having to do with their businesses period I've never spoken with my son about his overseas
00:41:43.620 business do you stand by your statement that you did not discuss any of your son's overseas business
00:41:48.600 yes I stand by that statement I don't discuss business with my son I never discussed a single
00:41:54.260 thing with my son about anything having to do with Ukraine the president had was never in business
00:41:58.920 with his son in business with in business with and that wasn't the question um and she prefaced it
00:42:07.820 Charles with I've answered this a million times the answer is not going to change and then she changed
00:42:13.860 it materially from he's never discussed business with his son to he's never been in business with
00:42:21.500 his son which is an important distinction I believe it's also a lie but the White House won't allow us
00:42:27.360 to actually inquire they won't appoint a special counsel on this and uh the press is only to to overstate it
00:42:34.300 mildly interested in the story I don't think the press is interested in the story at all I have been
00:42:41.920 astonished by the total radio silence that we have seen on this issue and I have grown tired of having
00:42:51.560 to say so I will say once again that I don't know whether this is true or not but there's an awful lot
00:42:57.200 of smoke why is it that I have been given the same answer on this as the smoke has piled up into the sky
00:43:05.060 for months because the press doesn't care it's a slightly different topic but there was an astonishing
00:43:11.280 incident last week when two IRS whistleblowers spoke in congress about Hunter Biden and the press
00:43:22.640 didn't cover it the Washington Post did not report on it at all it wasn't that it was buried at the back
00:43:28.640 it wasn't that they spun the issue they simply refused to report on it meanwhile you see endless
00:43:37.380 stories about a supreme court christmas party with three or four bylines on them the time has come
00:43:45.120 for the institutions in this country that have resources and expertise in investigative reporting
00:43:54.640 to look into this properly to assign four five ten fifteen people to determine whether or not the
00:44:04.960 allegations that we have heard and the evidence that we have seen amount to something serious if I
00:44:11.140 were President Biden I would want that I would want my name to be cleared if this weren't true
00:44:18.960 certainly as a citizen who admittedly does not like President Biden at all I want to know whether there is
00:44:26.440 something to this because it's really odd how many of these little threads when tugged at seem to be
00:44:36.560 connected to something larger it's not looking good is it no it's not and just to expand on that last
00:44:46.220 comment by Corrine Jean-Pierre the question from Fox's Jillian Turner was curious if the White House
00:44:50.880 and President still stand behind his comment that he's never been involved and has never even spoken
00:44:55.760 to his son about his business and she goes on to say I've been asked a million times the answer is not
00:45:01.180 going to change the president was never in business with his son amazingly so many in the media
00:45:07.700 bite they they're too lazy too dumb to actually understand that's a whole new deflection by the White House
00:45:17.300 that it is different from all the ones we've heard before uh mediaite is a website that covers the media
00:45:22.760 this is their headline KJP Corrine Jean-Pierre definitively states that President Biden quote was never in
00:45:28.700 business with his son hello that's not the headline that's not the significance of what just happened there
00:45:34.380 as any honest reporter would tell you even Peter Baker I must say of the New York Times
00:45:39.200 pointed it out he noticed it and actually tweeted about it so good for him but you have other
00:45:44.880 reporters who will just phone it in and go wherever the little doggy treat leads them you know it's just
00:45:49.320 like my Strudwick you know wherever the doggy treat is that's where he will go he will not pause to
00:45:53.640 think about the fact that he might be going off a cliff um sweet Strudwick I'll make sure that doesn't
00:45:58.300 happen to him uh so you've got now as the smoke starts to get thicker and thicker Kevin McCarthy
00:46:04.920 who is speaker of the house Republican controlled going on Hannity last night and saying I think we
00:46:10.100 have time for it the following sought eight if you're sitting in our position today we would know
00:46:16.660 none of this if Republicans have not taken the majority we've only followed where the information
00:46:21.620 has taken us but Hannity this is rising to the level of impeachment inquiry which provides Congress
00:46:29.460 the strongest power to get the rest of the knowledge and information needed I believe we will follow
00:46:36.620 this all the way to the end and this is going to rise to an impeachment inquiry the way the Constitution
00:46:41.660 tells us to do this and we have to get the answers to these questions you use the i-word what do you make
00:46:49.040 that well you said impeachment inquiry I would caution Republicans from getting ahead of themselves but
00:46:57.000 if the worst version of the allegations here is true then of course the president would have to resign or
00:47:04.160 be impeached it's possible that we've seen nefarious activity or immoral activity that doesn't rise to
00:47:10.760 that level but if indeed this was a pay-for-play scheme and government policy was changed or a position
00:47:17.160 was abused in exchange for money and that that money was funneled through a manner of shell accounts
00:47:21.740 and family members yeah this would be an impeachment level offense so I hope they focus as much on the
00:47:27.020 inquiry as the impeachment bit and make sure that it's in that order yeah because if he actually did
00:47:33.760 take a bribe to change U.S. policy toward Ukraine while the sitting vice president impeachment is the
00:47:39.320 least of his problems he's going to jail he might be in prison
00:47:42.340 China will be worse than Watergate
00:47:44.700 yeah by far right now this is what you got you got the White House doing this for the listening audience
00:47:50.000 my arm is stiff and in front of me um you got the White House doing that you got the press doing that
00:47:54.520 and there's so much smoke that I do have to believe that even the dishonest press the press that wants
00:48:01.920 to run cover for him is going to have to do more about this they're going to have to because they even
00:48:07.780 they must worry what if we don't do it and something comes out closer to the election
00:48:12.380 and we're stuck with her we're stuck with her she will lose to anybody my sweet Strudwick could beat
00:48:19.480 Kamala Harris Charles C.W. Cook thank you for your honesty and your hard work and your commentary great
00:48:25.540 to see you
00:48:26.180 my next guest's twitter account is one of my favorite follows at least used to be called twitter
00:48:35.500 now it's called x uh he chronicles some of the gender madness that has taken over our culture and
00:48:41.240 boy he finds just the best clips that really bring it home I did not know anything about his backstory
00:48:46.320 but it's fascinating from a shy British teenager who was badly bullied to k-pop and Korean culture
00:48:53.760 super fan a singer turned influencer who has had his own battles with identity now he's out with a
00:49:01.360 new book about his life detailing why he's turned into such a vocal critic of transgender ideology and
00:49:06.880 what an effective one he is having lived it firsthand the book is called gender madness one man's
00:49:14.380 devastating struggle with woke ideology and his battle to protect children it is set for release next
00:49:20.300 month it is available now for pre-order get it to support ollie london who is fighting the good fight
00:49:27.440 against as it's called gender madness ollie welcome to the show great to be here thank you so much for
00:49:33.900 that introduction megan of course so i did i mean like ollie i i tick off a couple of these things from
00:49:41.460 your bio just so people understand the amount that you've been through including recently this is not
00:49:47.600 ancient history and how you got to this place before you found faith which has been a lifesaver
00:49:54.020 for so many um that you were badly bullied you were more feminine as a child eventually realized you
00:50:00.860 were gay but then decided maybe it's non-binary switched to they them then came out as a trans woman
00:50:06.560 started to go through procedures became addicted to plastic surgery 32 plastic surgery procedures
00:50:14.000 um ben declared yourself korean because you developed a fixation with korean culture
00:50:20.420 they called you a cultural appropriator they did not call you a female appropriator that was fine you
00:50:25.860 could cross over into the female lane but you couldn't cross over into the korean lane and right before
00:50:30.720 they were about to do these dramatic irreversible procedures on you surgeries on you to make you
00:50:38.660 quote appear more female you stopped i mean you did the thing nobody does you stopped you went into a
00:50:46.240 church and everything changed so that's just the broad brush overview of what brought you here today
00:50:52.540 um thank you for being so honest about all this because this that's got to be very traumatic just
00:50:57.140 to hear me listing it all like that it is but you know i think it's important to speak about it because
00:51:02.260 you know i i have been through a crazy time and i recognize that you know i acknowledge what
00:51:06.040 i've been through but uh no i think it's more of a microcosm to what we got what's going on in the
00:51:11.840 world right now with so many people questioning their identity and struggling and never feeling
00:51:15.920 good enough and i always had that feeling of never feeling good enough never feeling that i looked good
00:51:20.400 you know always struggling with my sexuality my identity the way i looked and you know i projected
00:51:25.260 that onto the world because we live in a world where people can change their identities all the time and
00:51:30.040 you know at the time i wasn't in a good headspace so i thought this was a totally normal thing to do and i
00:51:34.940 didn't realize i was you know perhaps a bad role model you know projecting these insecurities onto
00:51:39.760 the world because you were having mental health issues and eventually like is happening so often
00:51:47.020 in today's day and age you got sucked into the gender onto the gender train and it was very easy
00:51:53.420 to just blame it all on that and then of course that was about to create more problems for you not less
00:51:58.340 yeah i mean i don't like to blame things on other people you know i take responsibility
00:52:03.040 for myself my own actions but i do think society does push and indoctrinate people into believing
00:52:10.420 that they can just suddenly wake up and change their identity and you know i was heavily using tiktok i
00:52:15.560 was heavily using social media um you know i was surrounded by people you know doctors that would
00:52:20.340 just say yes to me and even the craziest things you know i've had three eye surgeries i've had my jaw
00:52:25.120 bone shaved i've got screws in my face you know i've done some really crazy things and you know
00:52:29.540 all these people around you they affirm your identity they think you know it's great you're
00:52:33.380 unique you're different you're changing yourself but really you know i wish at the time i would have
00:52:37.520 realized you know that this was very unhealthy and damaging to me and you know other people around me
00:52:42.180 you had some issues growing up that were real uh your dad abandoned you and prior to that
00:52:49.040 was very emotionally abusive toward you um made you feel completely less than was not at all
00:52:55.960 accepting of the fact that you were more effeminate and were probably just on your way to becoming
00:53:01.760 a gay man which he didn't want any part of so like we've seen that pattern happen quite a few times in
00:53:08.220 the trans community where if you would just let a little boy be more effeminate and play with barbies
00:53:12.900 and if he wants to put on a dress every once in a while it doesn't mean he's trans it could just
00:53:16.620 mean he's a normal a little bit more effeminate non-gender conforming boy but he tried he didn't
00:53:21.740 want it and that plus the bullying you went through in school really left you in a dark place
00:53:26.500 yeah i mean that was one of the triggers because basically you know he always wants me to be
00:53:31.140 masculine and a boy and you know go out camping hiking mountain climbing and going to forests and
00:53:36.640 stuff and i really rejected that and you know if i didn't go he would shout at me and be mean to me he
00:53:41.840 would scream at me in the car and stuff because i was always feminine i didn't want to do things
00:53:45.980 he wanted to do so but i had a really time uh struggling with that and i think you know to
00:53:50.700 have a functioning family unit is so important and if we look at the cases of many people that
00:53:56.020 you know become non-binary or trans they do have um difficulties within their family unit you know
00:54:01.420 whether that's with the father or the mother and um you know other issues and i think that's a real
00:54:05.760 driving force so you know i think protecting the family unit is a very important thing in this fight
00:54:10.940 to protect kids from gender ideology but also you know when i had a parent like that was just
00:54:16.700 constantly putting me down making me feel worthless you know it made me want to change it made me want
00:54:22.060 to become more like my mother more feminine more like a girl because i didn't want to be reminded of
00:54:26.300 this person no look how sweet you were look at this beautiful these pictures of you as a little boy
00:54:32.780 and you know i understand that when you got into the middle school and high school years
00:54:38.460 you had a condition is it called gynecomastia is that what it is yeah gynecomastia basically male
00:54:45.440 breast tissue okay and this is not all that uncommon um i mean on certain men where you you look like
00:54:52.140 you have sort of breast buds as a man which you know you can get corrected surgically and eventually
00:54:57.520 you did but you know a kid going through that in the middle school high school swim sessions during
00:55:04.080 pe has got to be its own kind of torture kids are mean you write about how you had bad acne i could
00:55:10.640 relate to that 100 people always say oh your skin's so nice you know what it was not always this way
00:55:16.640 and the years where it was really bad were traumatic and i didn't have any of those other issues that you
00:55:21.680 just mentioned so i really my heart goes out to you on that bullying how bad was that
00:55:27.520 i mean it was really horrific and i go into you know very detail big detail in the book because it
00:55:33.600 was something that scarred me for life and i think you know that is really the reason why i was
00:55:39.420 traumatized and underwent all of these procedures and tried to completely erase my identity because i
00:55:44.460 wanted to prove these bullies wrong you know when i'd go to swim class like you said i had gynecomastia
00:55:49.220 which a lot of boys do have its fatty tissue around the chest so it appears like breasts so i would
00:55:54.860 always be called a girl i'd be told i was pregnant because i had you know a chubby stomach and you
00:55:59.940 know people would say i had breasts or i would try to forget my swim kit so i wouldn't have to go to
00:56:03.820 class and then the teachers would find a spare one so i'd still have to do it and be humiliated you
00:56:08.200 know all of those kids laughing at me and calling me a woman or saying that i had man boobs it scarred me
00:56:13.260 for life so you know when i became an adult i completely cut off my chest and i'm left with some very bad scars
00:56:18.920 and cut off all that fat cut off my nipples and you know nearly died during that procedure in
00:56:23.580 armenia um so it was a tough time and you know those things stay with you for life but it's about
00:56:28.200 you know dealing with those issues head on and you know i'm not running from those uh traumas anymore
00:56:33.020 i'm addressing them head on and trying to deal with them to try and become a better person well i i list
00:56:38.800 it and i think you listed it in your book to try to give people a foundation to understand
00:56:42.460 you know these were some of your issues going into the point at which you you were told by the internet
00:56:49.240 and ultimately told yourself that you were actually the real problem was you were a woman trapped in a man's
00:56:55.060 body and it's it's in so many cases we've seen if the person had just gotten an honest therapist who
00:57:01.140 helped them explore their childhood trauma they may have made a different choice than to add on more trauma
00:57:06.180 right with all these devastating procedures i mean that's the real issue i mean if we look at studies
00:57:11.980 about kids with gender dysphoria you know the vast majority of them have uh pre-existing conditions
00:57:16.960 like autism some have bipolar some have severe depression so the doctors aren't treating the
00:57:22.080 real issue they're instead going down this fast track that oh you've got issues it must be because
00:57:26.720 you're trans and you know giving them hormones and it's very profitable for these clinics so you know
00:57:31.060 all of these uh corners are cut and kids aren't really supported and diagnosed you know imagine
00:57:35.980 struggling you know on the spectrum with autism as a teen and it's a very confusing time then you're going
00:57:40.760 through puberty and you might be getting bullied at school and you know if you think there's a way
00:57:44.940 out of that pain and suffering the doctor tells you you can escape this by just taking a few hormones
00:57:50.040 you're going to do it you're going to listen to that personal authority so i think that's the real
00:57:54.260 issue here and you know if i would have just addressed it head on and spoke to a therapist and
00:57:58.540 spoke about my issues you know perhaps i wouldn't have gone down such an extreme route perhaps i would
00:58:02.940 have you know got that mental health support and not mutilated my body and face
00:58:06.920 the the surgeries the plastic surgeries were not all designed toward becoming a woman as i mentioned
00:58:14.100 in the intro there were many many procedures designed to you write in the book erase all
00:58:19.780 resemblance to your father and you know you were trying to scrub his imprint on you out of you in any
00:58:26.260 way you could and then came the fixation just that you had body dysmorphia and so you wanted to change
00:58:31.860 so many things about the way you look to your face and your body uh and then came the korean thing so
00:58:37.000 can we talk about the korean thing because that's a that's an interesting twist that you don't see in
00:58:40.440 you know all these cases yes and i was definitely canceled for that by all these trans activists
00:58:45.960 because you know apparently you can't identify as that um so really what it was i was really trying
00:58:51.260 to erase the person i was i was trying to escape and run away from me you know i didn't want to be
00:58:56.720 reminded myself so when i'd look in the mirror i hated it so i wanted to change myself so irreversibly
00:59:02.620 that i wouldn't recognize myself and other people wouldn't recognize me so that's where the career
00:59:06.900 thing came in because i actually moved to korea in 2013 i did english teaching for a year which is an
00:59:12.220 amazing experience and there's also an experience where i was in this culture which is you know it
00:59:17.620 promotes plastic surgery absolutely everywhere you have on the subway system billboards you have tv
00:59:22.440 adverts all the k-pop stars promoting surgery so you can't escape it so when i saw that i was
00:59:27.220 surrounded by this culture of you know beautiful people that seem so happy and successful i thought
00:59:31.780 no this is the solution just have some surgery and all of my problems will go away and you know as many
00:59:37.220 people do with surgery once you start you don't really stop and it became a snowball effect um which i
00:59:43.120 talk about in the book that it was unstoppable and it became an addiction so i was trying to have this
00:59:47.520 korean k-pop look because i thought that would make me feel beautiful like a korean pop
00:59:52.360 start and then it wasn't enough so then the gender dysphoria came back into my life and i thought
00:59:58.100 that was the solution and it was just you know running from my problems instead of addressing them
01:00:01.720 hmm and was it were you rejected by surgeons you know if you said like i don't know what
01:00:07.920 specifically you were asking them to do maybe you could tell us but did anybody say
01:00:11.980 ollie no this is not we're not i'm not doing that
01:00:15.020 yeah so that's actually why i didn't have any surgery in the uk because they're pretty strict i mean
01:00:20.180 they won't even do revision rhinoplasty which is a second nose job a lot of surgeons won't do that
01:00:24.840 in the uk because they don't want to risk it so they don't take risks so i was willing to take a
01:00:28.940 risk and sacrifice my life you know in this pursuit of vanity um so you know i went to some countries i
01:00:34.500 went to poland which you know really messed up my nose and i still have cartilage coming out of my
01:00:39.020 nose to this day um when i went to armenia for the gynecomastia the male chest reduction
01:00:44.040 i almost died um i was in hospital for days i couldn't even move an inch in the bed the nurses
01:00:50.040 weren't coming in they couldn't speak english i couldn't call them it was a real struggle and
01:00:53.840 then the day when i had my bandages and stitches removed the doctor actually pulled metal drains
01:00:59.220 filled with blood out of my nipples without warning and i wasn't on any medication and i was it was
01:01:04.700 agony it was i literally thought i was going to die and you know it was horrific but you know i did it
01:01:09.820 all in the pursuit of vanity and i was risking you know my life with that
01:01:14.040 did you on the korean transformation i mean did you have like an eye surgery like i i read about
01:01:21.420 the you considered having something done to your genitals because apparently the koreans are known
01:01:28.460 for not having like enormous genitals and you you wanted to actually change yours to be more in line
01:01:34.820 with this ideal um well that was actually because at the time i was so struggling with this gender
01:01:40.940 dysphoria i was you know wasn't sure what gender i was so i was actually considering you know having
01:01:46.000 the surgery to have the vaginoplasty and you know then i was also thinking about having a breast surgery
01:01:51.140 in the future so you know it was really that gender dysphoria and you know i said some crazy things back
01:01:55.400 then and i take accountability for that and you know in regards to eye surgery i did actually have
01:01:59.960 three eye surgeries and you know after those surgeries i couldn't even open my eyes for three days
01:02:04.160 you know and it was really tough imagine having your eyes stitched closed um and it was tough but
01:02:09.040 again at the time i didn't care i didn't care if i died i didn't care about my well-being
01:02:12.580 or my health i simply thought in this kind of narrow tunnel vision that this is my only option if i don't
01:02:18.260 do this i'm never going to be happy well the reason i mentioned the the one about you know
01:02:23.160 the manhood surgery is to me that's self-harm i mean that's obvious self-harm you know the other
01:02:29.980 procedures are too but that one's just obvious any any man who wants to take inches out of his
01:02:33.940 penis is you know struggling struggling with something and and you know it didn't happen but
01:02:39.740 thank god i heard you say something recently that really caught my attention which was
01:02:44.820 that it was about self-harm and and that is it's it's almost like a tell like you said you likened
01:02:52.680 the surgeries to like one long exercise in self-harm to like cutting you know and if you were just
01:02:58.420 cutting anybody from the outside would look at you and say oh ali you need help right but instead
01:03:03.340 what you have now is person after person who applauds it or you find doctors maybe not in the
01:03:08.240 uk but elsewhere and met plenty of other countries who will actually do the cutting to you yeah i mean
01:03:14.680 it was self-harm i mean i speak about that in the book as well you know imagine cutting your nose off
01:03:18.620 six times and cutting your eyes up three times and your jaw and your cheeks there's there's no other
01:03:23.240 word for it other than self-harm you know it was was not just about you know i need to fix my nose
01:03:27.520 because it's too big it was a constant addiction and harming myself and i enjoyed that process i
01:03:32.820 enjoyed not being able to open my eyes for three days i enjoyed not being able to eat lying in bed
01:03:36.920 covering with bandages because it made me feel you know i felt worthless and it made me feel better
01:03:41.260 about myself that i'm finally going to be beautiful and i think that's the problem a lot of young people
01:03:45.840 feel they're struggling with other conditions like a severe depression they might be being bullied so
01:03:50.420 they think that you know by changing their body or having body parts cut off that is
01:03:54.500 you know self-harming them to make themselves somehow feel better and it's really not the
01:03:58.360 solution if only you know the young people out there would just focus on their mental health and
01:04:02.660 get help with a therapist rather than going down this self-harm route which i've been through and
01:04:07.520 you know that's why i'm very raw and honest with the book because i want people to know that you know
01:04:12.340 this shouldn't be the solution for young people it shouldn't be the solution to help self-harm and
01:04:16.300 cut yourself and have surgeries the solution should be to try and find support elsewhere and learn to love
01:04:21.520 yourself right and the body dysmorphia that you were undergoing should have been a clue it should
01:04:27.200 have been a clue not something that people just kept addressing the way we wouldn't starve an
01:04:31.120 anorexic they they were feeding right into your mental issues by doing and i by the way i should
01:04:36.500 add a respect for korean men i have no idea what the actual size of korean men is i'm just going they
01:04:41.320 sell me your book on what you said the reasons you said you were contemplating this move um but yeah so
01:04:46.880 no one was helping you no one was helping you so it's a miracle that somehow you helped yourself
01:04:54.020 you despite all that damage and all of these problematic choices that were adding to your
01:05:00.320 troubles how ollie how because i think there are a lot of parents out there struggling with a young
01:05:05.580 child who's in their 18 to 22 year old range thinking i missed the window i have no idea how to
01:05:11.600 help my child now but you are at least one example of the fact that actually maybe there's a window
01:05:18.220 you know there's hope for everyone and i encourage all parents out there you know never give up on
01:05:23.340 your child no matter what struggles they might be going through no matter how difficult your
01:05:26.760 relationship never give up because they are all worth loving they are all worth protecting and you
01:05:31.280 know i got to this stage where i was doing such extremes that i lost the sense of reality and you
01:05:36.040 know i was projecting this online on my tiktoks and youtubes and my music videos and
01:05:39.700 you know i realized at one point that this is unhealthy you know everybody for years you know
01:05:44.760 my family have been telling me this is bad this is unhealthy my mom my sister and you know they
01:05:49.080 were really upset with me and there were times when i wouldn't even speak to my family for weeks on end
01:05:52.920 because they were traumatized by what i was putting them through with the surgery and you know it was
01:05:57.520 selfishness at the time and you know i didn't see it because i was so obsessed with this
01:06:01.400 perfecting my image and my identity and um it was tough but you know never give up on someone and there's
01:06:06.960 always hope and i think you know when you get to such an extreme in life there's always a chance
01:06:11.380 to go back no matter how lost you might be no matter how far you may have gone down the line
01:06:16.140 whether it's being trans or something else you know never give up on yourself because you can turn back
01:06:21.360 and you can get back to the real you and what really helped with me was rediscovering my childhood
01:06:25.920 so you know retracing going back to my old town and you know going to the old church um where i used to go
01:06:31.720 at school and you know retracing your childhood steps remembering things from your past you know
01:06:36.280 because i blocked the old me out of my my life you know 10 plus years i didn't even remember things
01:06:41.520 so it's about rekindling that connection to your childhood you know and and trying to focus on that
01:06:47.200 wow um i guess i should spend before we go right to the robert frost poem in the in the moment for you
01:06:55.020 i should spend a little time talking about your music career because
01:06:58.220 that it seems like actually that was pretty successful um that you got into sort of this k-pop
01:07:04.000 you were into that and made some videos that look pretty good uh there was one um there's one
01:07:10.280 perfection and then there's another one plastic is fantastic we'll play a little bit of both let's
01:07:14.220 play soundbite 12 i mean it's a catchy tune and then here's another offering of you uh in in your
01:07:31.940 singing plastic is fantastic
01:07:33.220 you can do anything you want you can do everything you need
01:07:57.940 oh that's not bad so what happened with the music career and you know is that something was that
01:08:05.500 related to any of what we're discussing yeah it was definitely related i mean you know sorry to
01:08:10.240 um deafen your ears with all that auto tune because i'm not the best singer in the world but
01:08:13.840 you know i i used to make my music videos fun you know i tried to make them fun and you know
01:08:17.860 music is meant to be enjoyable so you know i had comedy in there i'd make some of the videos a
01:08:22.180 little bit crazy and you know i knew i wasn't the best singer but i was taking you know
01:08:26.080 the mick out of myself and just enjoying myself you know making these songs but
01:08:29.760 you know the lyrics if you listen you know perfection plastic is fantastic it's all about
01:08:33.720 looking perfect so you know looking back on that it's pretty meaningless you know it's not a song
01:08:38.160 with substance so no i i don't listen to my old music anymore but you know it's kind of the time when
01:08:43.340 i was struggling with that image and i was obsessed with looking a certain way you know plastic is
01:08:47.860 fantastic perfection and uh i was projecting that onto the world but um yeah i don't think i'd ever go
01:08:53.040 back you know to my music i'm not not the best singer but you're i mean entertaining performer
01:08:58.480 which is i mean half the people out there are not great singers they're just performers who
01:09:01.760 find the auto tune um you did develop this obsession with the korean band bts and in particular with
01:09:08.460 the lead singer and i know i should know his name but please tell me what's his name how could you not
01:09:13.840 know his name megan it's jimin i know i'm so clueless i mean i once thought that the very hit band
01:09:19.480 known as florida was florida i'm like oh i love florida i'm so at it i'm so not hip um so you
01:09:26.640 developed an obsession with him and in particular you wanted to look like him to the point where
01:09:32.020 you know you had surgeries and so on but you actually went on dr phil and talked about this
01:09:37.040 in an extraordinary exchange where dr phil who i love tried to bring home a dose of reality to you on
01:09:43.260 how this isn't really what he looks like either you know you're you're chasing sort of a dream
01:09:48.040 here is sound yes you're wanting to be a um clone or a replica of someone else which is an insult to
01:09:59.140 you no i think it's a tribute to jimin actually you know it's my appreciation for jimin because i'm
01:10:04.880 so in love with him i'm so obsessed so it's my appreciation for jimin so it's i don't think it
01:10:09.960 reflects badly i'm not losing my who i am i'm still the same person underneath well you no you're not
01:10:15.300 you're you're dressed like him right you're wearing silver you're wearing silver this is the new look
01:10:20.600 right this is my new look the blonde hair the plastic surgery and i'm i'm happy like if you look
01:10:25.080 at the pictures of me and jimin it's we're identical now that was just 2021 so that that was not ancient
01:10:33.180 history so where are you on your feelings about jimin and the korean thing well you know at the time
01:10:40.460 on dr phil i wasn't ready to listen to him you know i didn't take any of his advice and i should
01:10:44.300 have at the time because you know after that show i did a lot more surgery a lot more invasive surgery
01:10:49.220 in my face and um you know changed my face multiple times so i wasn't in a position at that time to
01:10:54.820 listen and you know the obsession with jimin was just because you know i lived in korea and i thought
01:10:59.360 you know i want to be like someone that i idolize you know a bit like someone that might idolize
01:11:03.560 someone like angelina jolie um you know i thought i want to idolize this person i want to look like this
01:11:08.100 person i thought you know it was generally possible that's how deluded i was at the time
01:11:12.040 it was generally possible to have surgery to look like another person and you know now i realize it
01:11:16.020 was very creepy and and weird and you know dr phil actually asked jimin to come on the show and they
01:11:20.580 turned it down so i can see why um but you know i just think it was again me projecting my insecurities
01:11:27.540 and i was really trying to raise myself to the point where i wanted to become another person
01:11:31.740 that's very toxic he got into that a little bit here's another soundbite from your appearance
01:11:37.420 in sat 11 i think beneath it all you're a pretty nice guy thank you a pretty decent guy and
01:11:45.860 secondly i think you're really selling yourself short you're not being your own best friend
01:11:54.060 i don't know this it just makes me happy it's like a facade deep down i'm i'm i feel sad about
01:11:59.240 myself like i'm always trying to change myself and i never feel good enough you know when i look in
01:12:03.140 the mirror i never feel beautiful i never feel good and i get so much hate online as well and it
01:12:07.060 just kind of adds to that feeling so i just it just makes me feel better about myself do you realize
01:12:13.960 that you've basically taken over for the bullies what do they quit and you took over for them the
01:12:21.060 bullies bullied you then they went away but you said okay bye i got this i'll bully oliver
01:12:27.160 oh so good is that true well you know he he hit the nail on the head because i was bullying myself
01:12:35.260 because again you know self-harming myself mutilating myself trying to change my identity
01:12:39.680 and going through all these crazy identities it was a form of bullying myself and you know i really had
01:12:44.780 taken over from the bullies and i wasn't ready to listen to his advice at the time but you know i took
01:12:49.420 over from the bullies because i became them you know i started hurting myself i started putting myself
01:12:53.560 down telling myself i'm never good enough i'm not beautiful you know i'm ugly you know all these
01:12:58.660 bullies were right so i really did take over from those bullies so in in august of last year so almost
01:13:05.080 you know it was 11 months ago uh there was an nbc headline that said you apologized for undergoing
01:13:10.960 operations to appear like bts star jimin um saying it was wrong of me to try to do that but then you
01:13:18.160 added that you still do identify as korean adding that's never going to change
01:13:22.920 is that still the case and are you still getting blowback for that right because they won't let
01:13:28.400 you're gonna you can call yourself a woman all day long but if you want to call yourself black or
01:13:32.380 korean when you're actually a white guy from england it's a hard no it's a hard no from those trans
01:13:38.620 lgbt activists you know so inclusive apart from that but um no i'm actually back you know i found
01:13:43.320 myself i'm actually back to just being me and just trying to live my authentic self and rediscover the
01:13:48.080 old me so you know just back to being um me but you know at the time of that nbc article i was
01:13:54.000 starting to realize that my behaviors were harmful um so you know that's the reason i issued that
01:13:59.320 apology because i was reflecting you know over a period of time and thinking you know this is wrong
01:14:03.580 this is bad so that was a first step but i wasn't ready to you know quit my identity at the time you
01:14:08.660 know the korean identity because i still felt you know what if i abandon this identity no who am i i have
01:14:14.320 no identity i'm just you know just ugly old me you know so i thought if i can hold on to that
01:14:19.500 identity for as long as i can it's gonna keep me feeling good about myself keep me feeling beautiful
01:14:23.920 but no several months later i was willing to accept that you know that was uh harmful and you can't
01:14:30.440 change your identity like that and you know it just wasn't good the real you is brilliant the real you
01:14:37.120 is an important public servant i mean honestly i fell in love with you via twitter and your thoughts and
01:14:42.960 what you paid attention to and the quick arguments you would make in response to a clip i'm like who
01:14:46.840 is this person he is brilliant and to learn this backstory was shocking to me like i had no idea that
01:14:54.140 you'd been through any of this so please let me validate that instinct of sticking with the real you
01:15:00.880 you've become such an important voice in these culture wars i don't know what we'd do without you i
01:15:05.960 don't want jim in i don't even know who that was ollie who cares about him now you do
01:15:10.500 yeah go ahead sorry i was just gonna say you know it's all about um you know i was trapped in that woke
01:15:18.620 ideology that woke culture you know it wasn't until i left that you know identity behind the trans
01:15:23.840 identity the korean identity i woke up and realized what is actually going on in the world and the fact
01:15:28.360 that these identities are being used to take away women's rights parental rights and to harm children so
01:15:33.140 it was only after i had that awakening that i saw these things and that's why i've become kind of an
01:15:37.660 activist for that you post these videos and you offer insights on them that you know one could only
01:15:45.700 have from you know having almost crossed over to the other side and had a had a foot in the other camp
01:15:51.380 you know you were on your way toward becoming quote a woman a trans woman and um had this moment and
01:15:57.240 we'll we'll get to actually that that sort of awakening and some of the stuff that you post
01:16:02.240 and your thoughts on it right after this very quick break ollie london stays with us author of
01:16:07.180 the new book gender madness an incredible exposition of this gender ideology and of ollie's own backstory
01:16:15.480 he knows of which he speaks
01:16:17.940 so ollie you're on the path the doctors nobody has any questions at all they're like oh sure you want
01:16:26.560 us to you know chop off your genitals and completely you know quote make you a woman we'll do it um now
01:16:32.660 you point out i was an adult it wasn't like i was a child but still like the it wasn't exactly like
01:16:37.420 they said let's make sure that this is real for you they just were fast tracking you into it
01:16:42.100 and what happened with the church and the robert frost poem well so i've been going through all this
01:16:47.960 surgery i had facial feminization surgery last year which involved 11 procedures in one day so that
01:16:53.520 was an eye surgery jaw neck uh literally every single part of my face even had my forehead bones
01:16:59.100 shaved down to make it look more feminine so that had happened and then about six months down the line
01:17:04.240 after all that surgery i was considering more surgery megan so i was actually considering going
01:17:08.540 to thailand i consulted with doctors about having a breast augmentation so that would be putting
01:17:13.600 silicone implants i wasn't quite ready for the um vaginoplasty but i was ready for the um breast
01:17:19.520 surgery and you know thankfully i got to a point where i was like this is you know this is a really
01:17:23.920 big step do i want to do this and i started to question it then that's when the robert frost poem
01:17:29.140 which i remember reading at university when i studied english and i remember the two you have two roads in
01:17:34.720 the woods and you can choose different paths you can choose the path that you're already going on
01:17:39.180 that's easy you know what's at the end of the path or you can take a risk go down a different path
01:17:44.340 and you know i was at that point where i was so unhappy with myself and i thought you know it's now or
01:17:48.760 never either change now or it's never going to happen so you know i took the path and the road
01:17:53.440 less traveled by and that has made all the difference and that helped me go to church one
01:17:58.300 day and just you know sit there and reflect on my actions and you know consult with the priest and
01:18:03.080 then start going to some of the um congregations you know and just participating in the singing and the
01:18:08.620 choirs and um the hymns and you know it was just an escape from my reality and you know over a period
01:18:14.120 of time going to this church you know it was a lovely community very inclusive very welcoming
01:18:19.000 nobody judged me and you know i just felt like you know maybe i should um reverse course now before
01:18:25.100 it's too late before i do any more harm to myself and you know then i started to really think about
01:18:30.200 my actions and then started to try and think you know i'm actually being a really bad role model for
01:18:34.840 all these kids that follow me on tiktok and youtube and i need to actually be a positive influence for
01:18:40.280 these people were you raised in any particular faith or as a religious person um so when i went
01:18:48.800 to elementary school i actually went to a church of england school so we did have to go to church
01:18:53.720 every week with the school but i always had very fond memories it was always very pleasant and you know
01:18:58.280 a lovely time and um as a teenager i actually became an atheist you know i just wasn't interested
01:19:03.260 and a lot of teens sadly become like that these days because you know too busy on the phone they're not
01:19:08.720 interested in going to church and connecting with god so you know i kind of lost faith completely
01:19:13.580 until the moment when i really needed some guidance and some light and it was you know
01:19:18.000 at that pivotal moment when these two roads and paths were in front of me that i just decided i need to
01:19:24.040 find another solution to my problems and i need to try and find god again and rediscover that
01:19:28.880 you've talked a lot about tiktok and what a negative influence it is uh when it comes to this gender
01:19:35.300 radicalism can you spend a minute on that because i think there'll be a lot of parents out there
01:19:40.020 wondering what do i need to know ollie what do i need to know to protect my kids
01:19:44.420 so i've got two very in-depth chapters about tiktok and how harmful this is and
01:19:49.780 tiktok came about around the same time as the pandemic you know it's owned by china and if you look
01:19:55.280 at the differences between chinese tiktok which is called do yin all of the videos are patriotic
01:20:00.140 it's promoting skills education teaching languages and other things and when you look at the american
01:20:06.120 westernized tiktok you know it's people sharing their pronouns their identities injecting themselves
01:20:10.840 with testosterone and estrogen and no that's really harmful so it seems very obvious that china has an
01:20:16.440 agenda to corrupt and demoralize western society and break down the family units and you know there's
01:20:21.960 no better way of them achieving that goal than using tiktok and you know targeting these kids and you
01:20:27.360 know kids on on tiktok you know you have 13 year olds on there you have younger kids that are going
01:20:31.780 on there and they're seeing people transitioning and sharing their stories of how easy it is how easy
01:20:37.000 it is to get you know a chest binder how easy it is to get hormones and you know they're falling
01:20:41.720 victim to this because they see these influences that are becoming popular they get likes they get
01:20:46.460 praise you're so stunning you're so brave and those kids that are struggling with themselves
01:20:51.260 they're struggling with their identity they see that as an escape as an opportunity to feel
01:20:55.380 validated and that's what's really harmful this is so problematic the way it gets applauded and held
01:21:02.380 up as like an example the way we used to hold up the marines that's how they're now holding up people
01:21:06.960 who are part of the trans community and i'm sorry it's not to say that they're all you know pedophiles
01:21:11.380 or all the sexual assaulters or criminals but there's an unhealthy proportion in that community that is
01:21:19.320 one of those things i mean just today there's a story in the news absolutely dark and disturbing
01:21:23.380 uh hold on a second it's um i don't know if you saw this oh you yeah you tweeted it you tweeted it
01:21:28.300 um transgender democrats child porn charges draw conservative outrage oh sure that's the highlight
01:21:34.000 that the conservatives are mad that this trans person turned out to be a pedophile
01:21:37.380 this is a democratic lawmaker no longer in office transgender quote woman so it's a man
01:21:43.800 masquerading as a woman facing charges now over allegedly colluding with a daycare center
01:21:48.540 center employee who was his partner to obtain child pornography of the children in the daycare
01:21:54.620 this is as sick as it gets this man goes by the name stacy marie lawton 39 of nashwell new hampshire
01:22:02.620 arrested and charged with the sexual exploitation of children and aiding and abetting um this is a
01:22:08.440 person who was setting policy for those who live in new hampshire when it comes to these and other issues
01:22:13.140 and now we find out that he was secretly colluding with his partner who worked in a daycare
01:22:17.380 to to allegedly take pictures explicit pictures of those poor children between the ages of two and
01:22:23.400 five in the daycare center so the two of them could get off on them i mean it's stomach turning it's so
01:22:28.940 disgusting and this is the kind of story that you've been calling attention to this is the kind of
01:22:35.500 thing that you know we see at every turn let me pause that there because i want to stay on social
01:22:39.620 media tick tock you mentioned youtube's another one and there's no bigger more popular show in all
01:22:46.580 of youtube than that of mr beast my kids watch it i mean millions hundreds of millions watch it around
01:22:53.320 the world his goal is to get a billion subscribers i heard him say that myself and his right-hand man
01:22:59.700 has just declared he's not a man he's a woman the guy's married to a woman they have a baby he's been
01:23:07.200 flirting with it he's obviously been on some sort of hormones because he's starting to look more and
01:23:11.000 more sort of female quote unquote and now he comes out with it explicitly chris tyson who was chris tyson
01:23:19.020 is now chrissy uh tyson with a k and in an interview with podcast host anthony padilla says the following
01:23:27.580 you've had a lot of people speculating on your gender yeah you know just you growing out your hair
01:23:34.840 you i mean today you you showed up fully i did presenting i did as a woman i did because i am a
01:23:41.480 woman oh she heard you've never said that before i've never said that publicly no but i i've been
01:23:49.340 fully like confident in that decision for over a year now okay you are not a woman you're a man
01:23:56.880 who's going through something heart goes out to you but you're not a woman and don't confuse the young
01:24:01.060 children watching mr beast that you're a woman because he's presenting now as a woman on mr beast
01:24:06.640 and these young kids who are just trying to tune in to see mr beast you know like clean up the oceans
01:24:12.100 or have somebody try to he did a funny thing where they're trying to like assassinate me not for real
01:24:18.060 but you know hire a real assassin they want to see the fun antics now have to watch this guy who
01:24:23.320 yesterday was a man masquerade around as a woman and everybody's just pretending nothing weird has
01:24:27.400 happened dolly yeah and it's incredibly harmful because the majority of the audience for mr beast
01:24:32.920 are young kids you know young kids idolize this youtube channel they want to become like mr beast
01:24:37.660 they want to become like chris tyson so when you have millions of kids looking at this person that
01:24:41.740 is openly declaring i am a woman she her and they're also tweeting about taking hormones and how it saved
01:24:47.960 their life and they're encouraging their young audience to try hrt hormone replacement therapy
01:24:53.260 that is incredibly harmful you know it's one thing to be struggling with your identity and to try and
01:24:57.840 deal with that and find happiness but it's another thing to project that onto kids i think that's
01:25:01.960 really harmful and you know i feel for his wife and the baby because i mean if you look at him just a
01:25:06.240 year ago completely different person what has changed in a year that has made him uh feel the need
01:25:11.940 to do this and declare himself as a woman you know i think it's it's going to be harmful if he continues
01:25:16.380 to be in the videos talking about these things that he's a woman and about hormones and things you know
01:25:21.180 it should just be about these fun videos you know that kids love kids enjoy shouldn't be anything to
01:25:26.000 do with trans ideology but sadly i think a lot of kids are going to be you know indoctrinated by this
01:25:30.860 and want to become just like chris or chrissy or whatever he's called now right right and on tiktok
01:25:37.340 it's even worse uh i know you called attention to this video of this surgeon just talking about this
01:25:42.940 sort of cross-gender surgery like you know it's nothing it's super fun here's uh according this is you found
01:25:48.620 it doctor is it sidib gallagher talking about silicone testicles look at this so typically when
01:25:57.960 we're creating the testicles for transmasculine bottom surgery we use implants to do it there's
01:26:04.540 two main types available on the market there's the saline implants which i tend not to use because
01:26:09.720 i find patients don't tolerate them as well and then there's these guys these are squishy
01:26:15.360 silicone implants they feel really natural they're available in different sizes you decide what
01:26:21.480 your doc what the right size is for you and there it is
01:26:24.780 i i that is it's literally nauseating to me that she's just out there like it's so easy look at it
01:26:33.820 so soft and squishy so fun you two could cut up your vagina and have me insert these and as you pretend
01:26:39.720 to have testicles that you will never actually have yeah and she has hundreds of thousands of
01:26:44.680 followers on tiktok and all of her videos are targeting kids and you know a lot of her customers
01:26:49.060 they find her from tiktok and you know she has claimed before that she operates on several
01:26:53.700 under 18s every single month so she's operating on minors cutting off healthy girls breasts every
01:26:59.540 single month she performs around 500 gender surgeries every single year and i just think you know the fact
01:27:06.000 that she's using these dirty marketing tactics to go on tiktok where 30 plus of the audience are under
01:27:12.460 the age of 18 you have you know kids eight-year-old kids on there as well you know nine-year-old kids
01:27:17.380 they're looking at this they think oh this woman she's an expert i've seen her on tiktok let me book
01:27:21.860 this surgery i'm starting to question myself this is what i need to do and it's so wrong i mean people
01:27:26.500 like that should not have a medical license they're abusing kids and you know doing this to a child
01:27:31.660 targeting a child like this is abuse this is why you're so important you're like libs of tiktok
01:27:36.840 you know you're immersed in this place and you find these videos and you can see how controversial
01:27:40.940 they are and you call our attention to them whereas you know most of us we're not on tiktok i'm not and
01:27:45.580 i wouldn't know where to go to find this stuff even if i were but you're using your prior pain and
01:27:50.600 experiences for good um another one was these democrats who walked out of the hearing last week
01:27:58.520 the house republicans are trying to have hearings on the amount of federal funds that are going to
01:28:03.520 help these so-called cross-gender uh medical procedures and when they try to offer real testimony
01:28:10.540 about what's being done to children and by whom and exactly how it is being done the democrats got up
01:28:17.940 and walked out uh let's start with sought 19. for the sake of clarity really i'd like to show
01:28:25.140 um a video a brief interview it was conducted by an expert in uh gender reassignment surgeries
01:28:33.900 uh from oregon's health care system madam chair madam chair i object i move that the committee adjourn
01:28:40.620 this has turned into a circus uh ms kamik madam chair the time she gets her five minutes and then
01:28:46.780 we'll move madam chair on the motion madam chair we don't want to be held hostage by whatever it is
01:28:54.880 that you guys are claiming my committee will come to order so uh ms kamik controls the time ms kamik
01:29:00.720 controls the time as you claim if if we do not understand how this surgeries work i would like
01:29:06.980 to show a video that articulates how these surgeries are conducted committee stands at recess while the
01:29:14.220 minority gets to look at the video we will watch the video okay
01:29:21.120 but no what happened was many democrats got up walked out refused to listen to the testimonial
01:29:29.340 about what they're doing to our children for those of you who didn't see it uh play out on c-span
01:29:34.380 here's a little bit of what the doctor said in the video that representative kat mackick uh kat kamik
01:29:41.100 played she serves florida's third congressional district listen talk 20 as a specialty um those
01:29:47.460 of us that do a fairly high volume of genital gender affirming surgery you know we've maybe done a
01:29:52.020 couple a handful of pubertally suppressed adolescence as a field and no one's published on it yet um
01:29:58.540 ohsu is we're just putting our first series together as we're kind of learning and figuring out what
01:30:04.060 works um but it's really changing things um because you don't have enough tissue to line
01:30:11.860 the vaginal canal so you either have to take a skin graft or take skin from elsewhere or use
01:30:17.960 artificial products how do you spend your days immersed in this ollie and not emerge and like
01:30:26.080 emerge bitter you know sick to your stomach i keep saying that works that's how i feel i how do you
01:30:33.020 how do you do that well it really it really is stomach churning i mean the fact that that guy
01:30:38.380 is talking about performing vaginoplasties on little kids is just absolutely sickening and the
01:30:43.540 fact that the democrats wouldn't even watch this video to see the horrors and this is a typical
01:30:48.260 tactic of particularly democrat politicians and trans activists lgbt activists they do not like to
01:30:53.940 have a discussion about this they'd rather shut you down call you a transphobe and move on so they
01:30:58.220 can continue doing this to kids but it's horrific you know i i research these videos these stories
01:31:02.980 on tiktok on social media and you know it's horrific but if i don't expose it you know
01:31:07.880 people aren't going to know this is happening so that's why i think it's so important that
01:31:11.600 we use our voices and our platforms no matter if you have one follower or a million followers
01:31:16.020 if we can share what's going on and stop turning a blind eye we can help make a difference because
01:31:20.380 just like these democrats they're trying to hide what's going on we need to expose it and keep
01:31:24.800 exposing the truth because we owe it to every single child and every single parent
01:31:29.040 oh they they're not just trying to indoctrinate our children it starts i mean in the cradle
01:31:35.440 in the cradle you called attention to this video of a mother trying to do trying to let her infant
01:31:42.320 signal which gender the infant was it's sat 17. what is riley
01:31:49.820 what are you yeah yeah yeah yeah are you a boy
01:31:58.300 are you a girl yeah are you both both okay that's fine you can be both if you want to oh my god
01:32:12.000 this is a trans parent trying to indoctrinate i don't know if it looks like a i guess it's a
01:32:19.140 mother uh her child for i mean the child can't even form words and where she's trying to pretend
01:32:25.000 that this is some sort of a gender selection ollie this is sick it's sick megan and they do this in
01:32:31.460 schools as well so you now see kindergartens teaching about pronouns about gender and being
01:32:35.860 trans and you know you even have sex books there was a book in australia that went viral recently and
01:32:40.820 this was a book age 11 plus and they were talking about anal sex and fingering and you know this is
01:32:46.540 a celebrated lgbt author and anyone that criticizes her it's called a transphobe so you know it really
01:32:52.420 is sick when they're pushing this on kids and the fact that that parent is pushing this on the kid that
01:32:56.580 kid has no chance by the time they get to 11 they're going to be on puberty blockers and hormones
01:33:01.000 they're going to have no chance to discover who they are on their own and i think that's really
01:33:04.840 really harmful that's this is one of the things that's upsetting to me because you have people even
01:33:09.020 republican ace the hutchinson saying things like this is a matter of parental rights and you know
01:33:13.160 we trust the parents to make good decisions well i don't trust that mother and in fact if you listen
01:33:16.840 to how that mother responded to the criticism that came her way i doubly don't trust her here's thought 18
01:33:22.140 do you hold every single person who posts anything about their child on social media
01:33:31.620 to the same standard or are you holding me to a higher standard because you do not agree with my
01:33:38.980 parenting style or my queerness at the end of the day i make all legal decisions for riley
01:33:45.620 right i'm the parent i'm the one who shit the fucker out i'm the one who takes care of them by
01:33:52.620 myself right and i know that you've done absolutely no research into my parenting style um but with
01:33:59.320 gender creative parenting um people who practice it effectively have chosen as a parenting style as
01:34:06.560 many people choose different parenting styles to not take the extra time to teach their child a false
01:34:13.640 reality to then have to reteach it later the correct way i i mean i want division of child
01:34:20.720 and family services to go in there and rescue that child i this this is why you do need state
01:34:25.780 intervention on certain things like you will not touch that child genitals or anything to sterilize
01:34:31.100 that child before he hits age 18 but the state will stop you how is that push going ollie in the laws
01:34:37.040 well thankfully this year there's been a real push back there's now over 20 states that have
01:34:42.560 banned gender affirming care although you do have some states which are being challenged by
01:34:46.620 judges and federal and state courts uh trying to block these laws so you know tennessee had an
01:34:51.680 issue with that but now it's gone through so you know there is progress but we need every single
01:34:56.380 state and every single country in the world to ban gender affirming care for minors because
01:35:00.980 whatever the argument these people like to use a child cannot consent if a child can't get a tattoo
01:35:06.280 or smoke or drive a car a child certainly can't make the decision to cut off their breasts
01:35:11.260 ollie london you're a gift all my best to you thank you thank you so much for being here
01:35:18.160 thank you the book is gender madness well well worth your time as is the follow on any social
01:35:24.340 media if you're gonna get on there at all follow ollie and you'll learn some horrors that you need
01:35:28.020 to know about before we go i want to tell you quickly tomorrow we have my friend gad sat here
01:35:32.160 later this week as i mentioned i'll be traveling down to florida to interview
01:35:35.820 governor ron de santis we were worried he was a report that he got in a car accident today
01:35:41.240 thank goodness he's okay so the interview's on and more importantly he's well and if you have
