00:15:07.420 I've hurt someone I care deeply about, Alex Turk and his friends and family.
00:15:13.320 And that is something that I have to live with and something that I am deeply sorry for.
00:15:22.400 I am also sorry that I've let the people of San Francisco down.

00:15:53.060 Here, a social media promo.
00:15:55.800 This, this is not the book you'd expect me to write.
00:15:58.940 It's a story about the people that for, well, better or worse, make us who we are, made me who I am.
00:16:04.780 The hopes that drive us forward, the failures that send us reeling, and the immense burden of grief and regret.
00:16:12.380 Nobody's family is easy.
00:16:14.380 Nobody's story is tidy, and I'm no different.
00:16:17.300 A lot of people look at me, the stark white shirt, the blue suit, and yeah, the gelled hair.
00:16:22.760 And they think, oh, I know this guy.
00:16:24.360 I know this guy better than I'd ever want to know him.
00:16:27.100 I get it.
00:16:28.180 This is a story of a kid who always felt like he wasn't quite enough.
00:16:32.080 This is a truly vulnerable book.
00:16:33.920 It was incredibly hard, even painful, to write.
00:16:37.540 It's a story about living between two worlds, one of wealth and privilege, and the other of more modest upbringing.
00:16:43.400 The outsider on the inside, the interloper who learned to feel comfortable in many rooms.
00:16:49.440 It's a story of the personas we create to face the world around us.
00:16:52.960 The story of self-doubt, and yes, ambition.
00:16:56.600 Presidential ambition, that is.
00:16:58.860 The governor telling reporters last week that the memoir may be interpreted as a campaign strategy. 0.98
00:17:04.640 Quote, look, I'm not an idiot. 0.99
00:17:07.040 Everyone's going to see it through a cynical set of eyes. 0.99
00:17:09.820 I mean, it's a politician writing a book.
00:17:12.540 Let the 2028 games begin.
00:17:15.060 That'll do it for your AM update.
