00:53:40.820who was then running for president of the United States and was about to accept the Republican nomination in Butler, Pennsylvania in July of 2024.
00:53:52.580The FBI, for some reason, is just now releasing this information, and it is rather stunning.
00:54:01.040I've got to tell you, here's what we know about why it's coming out now.
00:54:05.400Okay, some of this is from New York Post exclusive.
00:54:10.820But what happened was documents were provided to the Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley.
00:54:17.320He's been conducting an ongoing inquiry into the Butler assassination attempt.
00:54:22.360And the New York Post reports that it has obtained exclusive access to these documents.
00:54:29.220And they have a stunning report today that you should read for yourself, but I'll give you the highlights.
00:54:32.840uh they interviewed the fbi did thomas crooks's father matthew and this is mostly based on their
00:54:42.520discussions with matthew who i've got to tell you like he paints a story of this man's childhood
00:54:50.260his son which is just so sad and pathetic and foreboding that it really does make you wonder
00:54:58.600I'm not blaming the father for what the son did, but it really does make you wonder why,
00:55:04.040why didn't they intervene earlier in this young man's life? It's not like he had
00:55:11.180future presidential assassin written all over him, but I would say he's got all the stuff that
00:55:16.940you'd see in a school shooter. He had all the stuff, I mean, other than being a pothead and
00:55:23.260addicted to SSRIs. But for all I know, he was on SSRIs. I actually don't know the answer to that.
00:55:32.340Okay, so here's the story. The father, Matthew, tells the FBI, when Thomas was born, he did not
00:55:39.640scream, and he was always quiet from that point on. That's just eerie. The child didn't cry when
00:55:47.620when you, when he was born at all. And he was always quiet, always. Uh, they, let's see.
00:55:56.260He reveals, he quote, never really had a father son bond with his son, Thomas, and that his stoic
00:56:04.600son rarely expressed strong emotions, hardly ever laughed and was very difficult to read.
00:56:10.500you never really had a father-son bond, okay, if that's the case, it's your fault.
00:56:17.860It's the father's fault. It's not the child's fault. It's the parent's obligation to make sure
00:56:23.820that bond is formed. And if it's not forming naturally with the hours you spend together,
00:56:30.020most of which are full of love and affection and kindness, if you're doing things right,
00:56:35.080then you're going to need to change something. You're going to need to make different choices
00:56:40.560to make sure the child does feel loved and bonded. And if he still cannot, then you're
00:56:46.200going to have to have the child tested to see if there is something wrong with him.
00:56:50.680You know, from being someplace on the autism scale where they struggle, some versions of
00:56:56.620those who are on the scale, the spectrum struggle with emotions and expressing them
00:57:01.540to, you know, something else entirely, which is a full sociopath. They have no emotions.
00:57:08.040And that's why they are so good at committing crimes. They feel no empathy whatsoever for
00:57:12.680their victims. But you got to figure out what you have in your house, sir. And you can't just
00:57:16.360chalk it up to the way we had no bond. What? Again, I don't know the full story here. I'm
00:57:21.440just gleaning what I'm gleaning from the New York Post report, but I'm disturbed by
00:57:24.860his characterization. That's in quotes, never really had a father-son bond. That's his
00:57:31.780characterization. Thomas occasionally acted out in elementary school because he was bored,
00:57:38.080says his father, recalling one instance in which he damaged a desk and other school property
00:57:42.960in a bid for attention. By the time he got to middle school, Matthew said both, again,
00:57:48.240Matthew's the dad, both he and his wife Mary, quote, thought Thomas had ADHD and were concerned
00:57:54.120he had fallen in with a bad group of kids for a brief period. I mean, my first thought when I
00:57:59.320read that was, thank God he's fallen into some group of anything. I think I'd rather my kid
00:58:04.900fall in with like a naughty group testing limits than have no one. Just no one? Not a friend?
00:58:17.620In the post reporting here, Matthew's frustration with his son's dispassionate nature once boiled
00:58:23.880over at home after Thomas, that's the shooter, dumped an entire container of fish food into his
00:58:29.320sister's tank after an argument. All right, so that is actually quite concerning. Now I'm thinking
00:58:35.780sociopath because, look, I realize that's kind of, you could make the argument a childhood prank
00:58:41.740dumping the fish food in, but you're intentionally killing somebody's pet. And I'm just guessing if
00:58:47.800you've got that instance of intentionally killing your sister's pet, you probably have
00:58:54.520other instances of torturing animals or killing pets, et cetera. I'm going to mark money right
00:59:02.780now. That wasn't his only instance of harming animals or pets. So again, disturbing. He said
00:59:12.540he pushed Thomas to the point that Thomas started crying one time just trying to elicit some kind of
00:59:18.960an emotional reaction from the boy. Nowhere in here that I read is there news of him taking him
00:59:25.900to a child therapist, psychologist, school guidance counselor, anything to get some help
00:59:33.260in figuring out what is wrong with Thomas Crooks. What's going on with this kid? Believe me, I know
00:59:39.920it's all like, be careful. And I agree, be careful what psychiatrist you take your kid to
00:59:44.660or therapist, because we all know, thanks to Abigail Schreier and many others, that
00:59:49.160most of them want to either trans your kid or make him ruminate about all the bad things that
00:59:53.120have happened to him and also get them hooked on SSRIs. All this is bad. So you're going to have
00:59:57.860to do some research, but there should be some intervention when you're at the point where
01:00:01.700from birth, he's shown no emotion. Now he's killing the family pets and he can't even cry
01:00:10.340unless you really abuse him emotionally as the dad. Between his freshman and sophomore year of
01:00:17.680high school, Matthew, the dad noticed a shift in his son's behavior. He had grown a little more
01:00:23.180quiet and reserved. Amazing. Sounded like he was that way from day one and started having issues
01:00:57.660obviously i mean all parents have an obligation to do this if they can any anything like oh okay
01:01:05.680we have to work and i get it a lot a lot of parents have to work who have kids in school
01:01:10.780and they can't leave in the middle of the day i get that that that that's true for a lot of people
01:01:14.800especially working class people but this guy knew he had a problematic son and you have an obligation
01:01:21.560to society to figure out what's going on there and to make time around your work schedule if you
01:01:27.400have to, or get somebody to sub for you one day so that you can pick him up and drop him off
01:01:32.620at his extracurricular activities, and then stand there and watch him and see how he's doing.
01:01:40.720It's just, this is a fail up and down the schedule. Crooks, he said, then very much
01:01:48.260feared, Thomas did, that he wouldn't get into college. He reports that he threw himself into
01:01:53.400college prep courses because he feared he may not get in, putting a lot of pressure on himself.
01:01:58.340Despite his lack of social graces and street smarts, as Matthew described, Thomas could have
01:02:02.240been a promising student. He scored a 1,400 on his first attempt at the SAT without studying,
01:02:07.480later improved to a near-perfect 1,500. Matthew said Thomas expressed vague interest in certain
01:02:13.220professions over the years, but with little, if any, real commitment. That's no shock, you know,
01:02:17.700with somebody in high school. At one point, he wanted to join the military to work in nuclear
01:02:22.520submarines, but it was just an idea. He never seemed to have a love interest. He never showed
01:02:27.560interest at all in girls. He repeatedly denied being gay. He began developing an obsession with
01:02:34.520guns. He had little interest in the outdoorsman life, but the dad, Matthew, said he briefly took
01:02:40.400interest in hunting, but then said he couldn't envision his son actually killing an animal.
01:02:46.060He also hated fishing. I mean, tell that to the fish, but okay, whatever. He also asked if he
01:02:52.300could have his grandfather's guns. His conversations with his son Thomas during this period, I think
01:03:00.620this is high school and immediately thereafter, were usually brief and gun-related, such as the
01:03:05.880then teen wondering if he would have to do a background check to buy his dad's Glock,
01:03:10.420a question he told investigators he the dad considered odd. Thomas started going to the
01:03:15.100gun club around the time of the pandemic and was a terrible shot. He could not hit the paper target,
01:03:20.080said his dad, estimating it took four to five years of practice before he could do that.
01:03:24.740Eventually, with practice, he became a better marksman, coming home with range targets,
01:03:28.700showing off to his dad how well he did with a target placed over 100 yards away.
01:03:32.560After he questioned his son about why he was going out so far, Thomas explained he wanted
01:03:36.800to see how far he could shoot with rudimentary sights.
01:03:40.900I think it was 100 yards from which he took the shot in Butler.
01:03:45.640He found he was able to shoot even further distances after he bought a prism sight.
01:03:50.080Indeed, he had a site on on site with him at Butler, eventually becoming very knowledgeable about how to measure and zero in on a target and knew exactly how many clicks it would take to change the specific angle on the site.

01:29:34.180filed by his 13-year-old nephew, who is now 19, I believe doing the math because the first
01:29:39.140incident was six years ago, because they had an altercation in which he allegedly hit the now
01:29:44.58019-year-old. He was angry about the confrontation years earlier, which he blamed on the young man
01:29:49.460for ruining his marriage. Anyway, they outed all that at NBC Boston, and they did not, however,
01:29:56.140name him, name the juror. Thank you. But they gave enough breadcrumbs that the entire internet
01:30:02.500had it within an hour. Well, now swoops in the Boston Globe that uses the name of the holdout
01:30:09.760juror. And they want you to know the Globe has confirmed his identity through photos published
01:30:14.440online, court records, and an interview with one of his fellow jurors. Yeah, that's kind of a
01:30:23.100problem. That's what you shouldn't have done. Repeated efforts by the Globe to reach him were
01:30:27.720unsuccessful. Right, what does that tell you? He doesn't want to be famous. He doesn't want to talk
01:30:32.380about his damn jury duty, which he was basically conscripted into, which is how it happens for all
01:30:38.520of us. Like, this is so, it's so nuts. One of the jurors, Paula Devlin, told the Globe that she did
01:30:46.820not believe this guy should have been allowed to sit on the Clancy jury, given the active
01:30:53.100restraining order. However, there is no prohibition against that. Kevin Reddington declined to comment
01:31:01.680on Monday about this guy's so-called criminal background. The criminal charges against him
01:31:09.120were dropped. He had a restraining order against him, reportedly, at the time he served. That's
01:31:14.940very interesting that Kevin Reddington is saying nothing. Why? What's he doing? Is he trying to
01:31:19.500strike a deal behind the scenes? Tim Cruz, the DA, has also said nothing. So I can only imagine
01:31:26.300that they are furiously going through juror questionnaires trying to find this guy's.
01:31:31.760You know, the thing about the jury questionnaire, and this article does actually point this out in
01:31:35.320part, they speak to a retired superior court judge named Jack Liu, who said, look, standard
01:31:42.880jury questionnaires are extremely short and can be confusing to non-lawyers, making it
01:31:48.360understandable for prospective jurors to inadvertently omit details.
01:31:52.300He stressed that a past civil order or dismissed criminal charge does not strip a citizen of
01:31:59.340their right to be a juror, their right.
