00:00:58.620welcome to the megan kelly show live on sirius xm channel 111 every weekday at new east
00:01:06.340hey everyone i'm megan kelly welcome to the megan kelly show and happy tuesday we have a
00:01:16.580great show for you today including a deep dive on the ohio governor race that has become the
00:01:22.360talk of the internet today. Do we have a serial fabulist about to become potentially governor of
00:01:29.380Ohio in her race against Vivek Ramaswamy? We've learned some facts about Amy Acton,
00:01:36.580and we will be bringing them to you shortly. But first, another bombshell update in the
00:01:40.960investigation into Ilhan Omar. The New York Post reporting yesterday that sources say
00:01:46.520federal investigators have DNA evidence that could prove Omar committed immigration fraud.
00:01:53.560One source telling the Post the DNA evidence is related to the allegation that she married her
00:01:58.100brother, the Bresbend, back in 2009 to help him obtain a green card. And now we are learning that
00:02:07.440apparently, according to Fox News, they did not obtain that DNA via dumpster diving or garbage
00:02:14.560diving, as News Nation reported on Friday, but they may have had it for some time. We're not
00:02:21.040sure exactly when they get the DNA or how they got the DNA, but they do have the DNA. And people,
00:02:28.520she married her brother. She has a brusband. She married the first guy, Hersey, a couple of years
00:02:35.860before she married her brother. It was only a ceremonial marriage. Two years later, she married
00:02:40.760her brother, Ermi. That's her last name too, Ermi. She's not even Ilan Omar. She's Ilan Ermi.
00:02:46.800She's been going by a different name, Omar, because that's the family that helped her get1.00
00:02:50.060over here and claim refugee status, which never should have been granted since she appears to be
00:02:54.720the daughter of a warlord, a man who served a warlord, a guy who's high up in his army.
00:03:01.880In any event, then she married her brusband in 2009. She said they separated two years later.
00:03:07.960What a shock. It didn't work out because he's her brother and also apparently gay.
00:03:12.720He looks very gay. Not confirmed, but it's very hard to be that fabulous and not be gay as a man.0.93
00:03:18.380Then she didn't divorce him until 2017.
00:03:20.980And in the interim, she found her next husband, the current guy.
00:03:27.860So there's there's a lot about Ilhan Omar, and they are going to be able to prove that she married the brusband.
00:03:34.980And by the way, Miranda Devine of The New York Post reminded us that in 2021, she was about to go to press with a report that some Republican operative had managed to get the DNA of Ilhan Omar and her brusband and that there was a 99.99999999% chance that they were blood relatives, that they were siblings.
00:04:03.600and she was about to go to press with this and her source, the guy who had managed to get all
00:04:09.240the tests, was arrested by the Biden administration. Now, it does appear that he
00:04:15.360was a bad guy. Apparently, this guy went on to be convicted of child sex trafficking and was
00:04:22.340allegedly recruiting 15 and 16-year-old girls and having sex with them. That's known as rape,0.85
00:04:27.880child rape in any event not a good guy doesn't undermine dna and she had published this back in
00:04:36.1402021 but it magically went away after the biden administration arrest arrested the source who
00:04:44.200apparently had used all these gop donors to pay for the detection of dna on at least in at least
00:04:52.600three countries we believe omar here in the united states she said smoking a cigarette or picking up
00:04:57.760a cigarette butt of hers. The Brisbane, who by this point we believe was back over in the UK
00:05:03.580where he was raised. And then possibly some other family member. I don't know exactly how they did
00:05:09.060it, but they know this. They have known about the Brisbane and there has been at least a third
00:05:13.200party trying to get DNA, actual DNA analysis on this for some time. And the government has the
00:05:18.100DNA. And this jig is almost up, my friends. It is almost up. Let's bring in the fellas from
00:05:24.140Ruthless. See what their thoughts are. Josh Holmes, Michael Duncan, John Ashbrook,0.84
00:05:28.320and the man known as Comfortably Smug. When it comes to supplements, we all know there are two
00:05:34.320things that matter, that it works and that you can trust it. Rather than just tell you about
00:05:38.740Relief Factor, we often bring you what their real customers have to say. One, Jim, said he ran out
00:05:44.420of Relief Factor twice and that both times his aches, stiffness, and pain came back. Once he
00:05:49.960restarted it, he says he felt better again. As Jim puts it, quote, you know something's working
00:05:54.320when you run out of it. I know many people who have used Relief Factor and had it work for them,
00:05:59.160including yours truly. I took it from my shoulder and then ordered it again and found real relief.
00:06:04.580They make it easy to find out if you will join me and Jim as a satisfied Relief Factor customer
00:06:10.460and talking about how much it helps you tackle your daily aches and pains.
00:07:12.060And she's got the sister, Sarah, who came over with her and her dad back in 1995 as refugees and then allegedly got citizen status in 2000.
00:07:21.520Big questions about whether that actually, in fact, happened.
00:07:24.360Then she's got another sister older named Layla.
00:07:27.180She's got the brother Ahmed and she's got another brother, I think, named Mohammed.
00:07:30.960Those three stayed in the UK and Layla appears to have raised Ahmed, a.k.a. Ilhan's brusband, as her son.
00:07:39.060There's all these social media posts where he's calling his sister mom and she's calling him my son.
00:07:44.760So those three, we believe, stayed in the UK except for his brief sojourn over here when he married his sister and tried to get a green card.
00:07:50.540And when they asked him for more information about his marriage, he said, never mind.
00:14:46.500And I think the main takeaway from all of this is not that this is a crime that Ilhan Omar committed.
00:14:54.000This is something that Ilhan – this is a symbol for the entire left of their belief system of, you know, chipping away at all the laws in this country, at the border, at everything, at the Constitution, at all the ties that have
00:15:09.520binded this country together bit by bit chipping away like you see in new york city and even in dc0.63
00:15:14.400they're like well we'll let illegal immigrants vote in municipal elections not in the federal0.85
00:15:20.080yet the same way that they're like oh well you know she'll have the paperwork sometime or like
00:15:24.720oh this is just a racist attack they've been hiding behind accusing anyone who wants to follow
00:15:30.240the laws in this country of being a racist and that's the same thing they're doing here she's
00:15:33.760She's gone into hiding. This is a member of Congress.
00:16:02.460this is a sitting member of Congress who has had serious questions raised by two administrations in
00:16:09.420a row, including the Democrat one, about whether she is here lawfully in this country. Forget
00:16:15.940deportation. There is zero chance. It is not ambiguous in Article one of the Constitution.
00:16:21.960If she's not a U.S. citizen, she may not serve. She must be kicked out of Congress.
00:16:26.560There is there's no defense. If she's not here lawfully, she's no longer a member of Congress.0.97
00:16:31.360So it's like this is a five alarm. My worry is she's in hiding because she wants to run out the clock.
00:16:37.320She knows. I mean, every two years she's up for election. But her district, like Homestead, is basically Mogadishu.0.97
00:16:42.620She's on her on the campaign trail said that I am running to represent Somalia.
00:16:48.180She said that straight up in native. She did say that Somalia. She said that.
00:16:52.940And so what she's doing is undermining this entire process.
00:16:56.340She's hoping I don't have to say anything. I'm just going to get reelected.
00:16:59.720People are going to put up with this. But this is also symbolic of what's happening across the country. We've been told illegal immigrants don't vote in our elections. OK, now we see that multiple of them have been arrested for voting multiple times. And now what? We've got an illegal alien in Congress. At what point is this going to be treated like the outrage it deserves? She should be in handcuffs and paraded through the streets as a cautionary tale.
00:17:22.400Smug, I think the reason why it's not taken seriously is there's probably a good 30 percent of the Democratic primary universe that wants illegal immigrants to vote.0.98
00:17:30.600That doesn't care if you're an American citizen to represent you, you know, in Congress, because, I mean, it's just the state of the Democratic Party right now.0.88
00:17:40.040I mean, Abdul El-Sayed's like family loves the Muslim Brotherhood.0.78
00:17:44.380You know, and so, like, when that's the state.
00:17:47.920The sister was on a terrorist watch list, Abdul El-Sayed's sister. Sister was on a terrorist watch list. She petitioned to be removed, and she was. But she was on one, which is kind of relevant to voters trying to make up their minds about what to do in Michigan.
00:18:07.280Yeah. Well, I think it's kind of like the 2.0 or 3.0 of this Democratic plan where you said like 30% of the Democratic Party is basically anti-Western values type thing. You find you import this third world community into a congressional district. Well, now you got Ilhan Omar. She maybe shouldn't have been here in the first place.
00:18:27.500the 2.0 or the 3.0 is Abdul El-Sayed, and the same thing in Michigan, but now you're going
00:18:32.960statewide in a swing state, and there isn't a dime's worth of difference in terms of their
00:18:37.880moral value and their embrace of what it means to be an American. They don't care,
00:18:44.220and they've told you that repeatedly. They're trying to hide it a little bit now, Sayed.
00:18:47.800Or look at that Chevalier woman in New York 13. I mean, it's like a D32 district. She's coming to0.99
00:18:55.400Congress, Megan, and she wants to end Western civilization. How can she swear an oath to0.67
00:19:01.960defend the Constitution? This is a woman who started an organization in college to eradicate1.00
00:19:07.720America. If that isn't a violation of the basic oath you take as a member of Congress, I don't0.99
00:19:14.480know what is. She, in particular, should be expelled from the House on day one. And if people1.00
00:19:20.160don't push for that, I don't know what's wrong with them. But she does not belong in the House
00:19:24.180representative yeah find somebody else and wait are we still somebody was in my ear are we still1.00
00:19:28.460talking about no chevalier yeah this woman yeah this woman in new york like yeah she's crazy no0.88
00:19:33.580she's absolutely crazy and it's like on the same token why isn't ilhan omar expelled from congress0.69
00:19:39.220today today she can't if she can't prove that she's not gonna show up if she's evading the0.72
00:19:46.020authorities well half of them don't show up you know and that's not particularly unusual uh they
00:20:46.260Yep. Right. When you find definitive proof, if they find definitive proof that she, in fact, should not have been here, that she married her brother, that it lo and behold, allegedly committed acts of fraud herself.
00:20:57.500You find all those things out. The process of removing her will not be a consensus opinion.
00:21:03.340You looked at like Governor Walz or these Minnesota state representatives who are their first statement out when they raided her home is like, look what the Trump administration is doing.
00:21:14.060the trump administration punishing his political enemies first of all she doesn't even come close0.81
00:21:19.580to qualifying as a political enemy she's basically a worthless backbench house of representatives
00:21:24.500member but the point is is that their initial reaction is not like oh my gosh we've been duped
00:21:30.860by this somalian who has been running and winning congressional races right and nobody's saying that
00:21:39.680you can't have a different democrat of course they're gonna vote for a demo there are thousands
00:21:43.520of democrats in that district who could be in congress they're all democrats they're all
00:21:47.400democrats of course how about one who's they're all gonna win right of course we know that seat
00:21:51.940is going blue but i mean the democrats they're really not putting forward their best you got
00:21:56.680the one who is married to her brother you got the one up in may main who's stooping his cousin
00:22:02.060and yeah it's it's really not their best year and yet they're you know ahead on the generic ballot
00:22:07.800by over eight points but wait i wanted to say something about um ilan so here's what's
00:22:12.360interesting. So the sister spoke voluntarily to the feds. And Ilhan Omar is going to have a tough0.98
00:22:17.640time not speaking voluntarily to the feds or involuntarily. But at some point, they're going
00:22:21.980to get an interview with Ilhan Omar. And let me give you an example of some of the tough questions
00:22:28.000that are going to be asked. In 2009, you married Ahmed Ermi. Is that your brother? No. Elmi,
00:24:22.580I think we'll get video of that deposition.
00:24:24.660I feel like that would be a good one to have out there, just, you know, for table talk.
00:24:30.340I mean, she can just plead the fifth through all this, can't she?
00:24:32.980I guarantee the Dems are going to turn this into a sympathetic thing.
00:24:36.020Like, I already saw Barack Obama who was tweeting, like, this is a scary day for America, where the President of the United States is attacking his political enemies.
00:24:44.960Like, we're talking about that's how far they've gone.
00:24:47.820Like, Barack Obama is coming out here and being like, no, this is totally okay.
00:25:37.260Well, the good people of Minnesota are experiencing the Somali immigrant story each and every day as their high schools are terrorized by gang gunfire.
00:25:44.840So I think I got the upshot on that book.
00:35:16.340And then we get to the alleged lunging incident that happened not long ago.
00:35:23.820Amy Acton claimed that some very dangerous man confronted her at a campaign event.
00:35:30.460And since she's got her no cameras rule and she doesn't let people hold up their iPhones filming her, we don't have video of the actual moment that the man appeared.
00:35:38.600We only have her reaction and the reaction of people around her.
00:35:41.460But she and her campaign painted this as though this was like the Salman Rushdie event where somebody like rushed the stage and she was in grave danger.
00:35:51.660And by the way, he was blinded by his attacker.
00:35:54.440And finally, video emerged of the incident showing it was like a brief, whoa, what happened there?
00:36:06.540OK, Amy wanted us to believe that some crazed maniac had lunged at her, that this was an attack in which she was quite in danger and that she wanted felony charges brought against this guy.
00:36:20.040And I'm going to show you the video in one second. But here's the here's what happened.
00:36:24.040She said that it made national news. You know, Vivek was asked, put out a statement.
00:36:29.320He put out a statement saying I condemn violence. You know, I don't I'm not in favor of something like this.
00:36:33.300And then the story started to unravel, guys, because the local police department came out and said, she's ghosted us like she's she and her campaign have ghosted us.
00:36:45.980We can't get the information that we need to find out what the hell happened here.
00:36:49.880And then the campaign said, oh, that's not true.
00:36:52.160Well, then the prosecutor came out and said, I hate to break it to you, but there's no felony here.
00:36:58.840At best, we're looking at misdemeanors for what this guy did.
00:37:02.640and here is the prosecutor on camera. The information we've received is that the Acton
00:37:08.540Camp requested individuals stop recording shortly before this incident occurred. So at this point,
00:37:14.620the only video we have is the defendants. And what's that showing certainly doesn't
00:37:20.040support filing felony charges. What does that video show? It shows him walking into the tent
00:37:25.680recording and moving forward, calling out her name and the state patrol, then her security,
00:37:32.180I shouldn't say the state patrols. Somebody in her security comes forward and then his phone is
00:37:37.580either dropped or tousled. And that's all we have. There's never any close contact with the governor
00:37:44.240never gets near her or sorry, candidate for governor. Okay, never gets near her. The woman
00:37:52.460was never in danger. The campaign statement had said while attending the Canfield fair,
00:37:56.840an armed individual lunged at Dr. Acton, injuring multiple people. Dr. Acton and Eric are grateful
00:38:03.960for the swift and decisive action of law enforcement and are praying for the recovery
00:38:08.940of those injured. This kind of violence has no place in Ohio. Dr. Acton will always stand up to
00:38:15.200the chaos, hate and vitriol that pits us against one another, said her comms director. All right,
00:38:21.020here's the incident in which her life was potentially in danger. Multiple people were
00:38:25.580allegedly injured. You hear the police later say she ghosted us on information. And the
00:38:30.500prosecutor's like, there's no felony here. I don't know what she's talking about. Here it is.
00:39:15.960I'm sorry. Everyone looks fine. This is the big incident that resulted in only misdemeanor charges,
00:39:37.040not a felony. And did that prosecutor seem overly concerned to you? She didn't to me.
00:39:43.860Last but not least, you guys, this does not seem like a stable person to me.
00:39:49.580OK, there are reports of her repeatedly crying while on the job, like the people who had worked with her in Ohio basically are painting her as an emotionally fragile person who would not be able to handle the pressures of the governor's house.
00:40:06.180And here's the other piece of this. Not once, but twice, police have responded to her home
00:40:15.080for 911 calls. This is via NBC News in 2019. In August of 2019, police in Bexley, Ohio responded
00:40:24.700to a report of a domestic dispute at her home. She was then the director of the state's Department
00:40:29.540of Health, and she pulled a mirror off of a wall, shattering the glass when she became upset,
00:40:36.360those are in quotes, because she felt her husband, quote, was antagonizing her,
00:40:40.800according to a police report. She told officers she had been drinking, she had taken an unknown
00:40:45.720amount of prescription drugs, and was about to drive away in her car before her husband,
00:40:50.440who also told police he'd been drinking, talked her out of it. A medic dispatched to check on
00:40:55.640her, recommended that she go to the hospital, but she refused. Police determined that there was no
00:40:59.780evidence of physical violence between the two of them, only a verbal argument over her extended
00:41:04.120work hours, etc. Her campaign later disputed and sought to clarify several elements of the police
00:41:10.560report that they'd returned home from dinner. She had one drink during a verbal disagreement,
00:41:16.560they said, regarding her long work hours. She bumped into a wall hanging, which fell,
00:41:22.540OK, unlike what the cops said, which was she pulled a mirror off the wall and shattered the glass because she was upset.
00:41:29.260She felt she was being antagonized. She bumped into a wall hanging, which fell.
00:41:35.220She then went to bed and was asleep when the police arrived.
00:41:38.580They claimed they disputed there was any reason for her to go to a hospital, asserting that any harm would have been noted in the police report.
00:41:46.780OK, the police did not respond to a request for comment. Not just that, but in 2013, there was yet another incident.
00:41:55.900Listen to this via Ohio News. Police responded to the Bexley home of Democrat gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton more than a decade ago after her teenage daughter called authorities worried that her parents, quote, were going to get into some type of altercation.
00:42:10.660According to a report obtained by Ohio News at 1220 a.m. on June 16th, 2013, Bexley police were dispatched to a home on Pleasant Ridge regarding a domestic disturbance.
00:42:21.000According to a police report, Acton's 16-year-old daughter returned home from a party intoxicated.
00:42:26.500Acton notified the girl's father, her ex-husband Douglas Beach, who later arrived.
00:42:30.780The daughter apparently did not like this.
00:42:32.840This is in quotes from the police report.
00:42:35.240Thought her parents were going to get into some type of altercation, end quote.
00:42:38.700Both parents said they were fine, that there was no altercation. They'd been married. He's a psychiatrist from 1989 until their divorce in 2008. And her campaign did not immediately respond.
00:42:51.720So here you have what looks to me like an unstable person who's repeatedly unable to practice emotional regulation to the point where the police are called.
00:43:03.200How many times has the police been called your house?
00:48:44.840Honestly, I would have been more scared of COVID if I had to watch Amy Acton on my television telling me she was in control of the situation.
00:52:41.600Again, we don't know what happened after that one reporter on Capitol Hill is alleging he couldn't find a record of charges against Amy Acton's stepdad.
00:53:29.200Let's talk politics, guys, because we are now a couple weeks out from these midterm elections.
00:53:35.100And as I mentioned last hour, the generic ballot has the Democrats up between eight and nine points.
00:53:42.080If that, you know, the last time that happened, I think was 20, what, 18?
00:53:48.380And it was a decisive victory like the the Republicans, when they just won the the barely won the control of the House in 2022.
00:53:59.580I think they had a three point congressional generic ballot advantage.
00:54:04.120So this would not bode particularly well if you believe in the generic ballot magic for Republicans.
00:54:10.820However, Republicans, unlike Democrats, tend to have hidden vote that doesn't register in the polls.
00:54:18.420Not always, but they do more so than Democrats because a lot of GOPers just don't talk to pollsters.
00:54:24.020And it's been frustrating for a lot of pollsters to try to truly gauge what Republican voters are getting ready to do.
00:54:30.100So the ad that was just unleashed, my pal Mark Halperin's two way show tells me that this is airing nationally, that it might have been airing during NFL Sunday football, speaks to sort of not one candidate, but like generic Republicans at home who are planning on sitting on the couch because they're just kind of grossed out by both parties.
00:54:55.160They don't want to vote for a Democrat, but they're pissed off at Trump and feckless Republicans in Congress.
00:58:06.780But the Dem side is candidate quality, too.
00:58:10.080And I have to say, like, I'm interested in the Al-Sayed thing because I think the reason this guy has risen to prominence in Michigan is people are fed up with they're mad about the Iran war.
00:58:21.000Michiganders, too. They are mad about how close we are to Israel and they want some separation there.
00:58:27.780And he's been making that a very big issue.
00:58:30.000And Mike Rogers is much more neo Connie and more of the same. If you want the close alliance with Israel and why are we going to get into fighting their battles and so on? And so they I know these people. I have dear friends in Michigan who are Democrats and then independents. And they are saying that they don't really care.0.58
00:58:50.780Like these things about the Muslim Brotherhood, they don't care because what they're worried about is getting in yet another Middle East war, thanks to our alliance with Israel, not thanks to anything El-Sayed might do.
00:59:04.220But I see the GOP trying to do the same stuff that they've always done and that is served up very successfully on cable news, you know, five nights of the week.0.84
00:59:14.460And that is to play up those Muslim Brotherhood ties.
00:59:17.140And in El-Sayed's case, they're real, like not him personally, but his, we just talked about the sister-in-law who was on a terror watch list, did successfully petition to get taken off of it.
01:06:39.400Yeah, I'll go back to just the breakdown of Michigan here for a second. It is worth noting that Republicans have not won that state since the mid-90s in Spence Abraham in a Senate race. They have not had a ton of luck.
01:06:54.780I think that you could nominate a piece of Wonder Bread with a D toasted into the middle of it and win by 15 points in this particular cycle.
01:07:05.200The fact that he is not tells me and the fact that that is really one of the last races off the board.
01:07:11.520I mean, if you're looking at these super hyper competitive races in states that Trump had won, that is going to be one of the tightest of them all.
01:07:20.640And I think that that is a perfect example of this rejection of folks like El-Sayed, this unease with this many pieces of, you know, look, if it quacks like a duck and it walks like a duck, it's a duck.
01:07:34.520This guy is a duck, and he's telling you out loud, I am DSA, I am a radical Islamist, my whole family's ties to it.
01:07:43.560Now, like 10 days or 20 days before an election, I'm going to try to pretend like you're just a racist for bringing all that stuff up.0.98
01:07:50.640And I think there's a large number of people, including a ton of black voters in Wayne County, out in Detroit, that are not buying it.
01:08:13.060But, you know, query whether they created for themselves in Michigan, the Democrats, the same kind of problem the Republicans created for themselves in Texas,
01:08:19.720Where they went with somebody who was more sort of exotic and like controversial and like more of a, quote, fighter on like the core issues emerging in the party, but with less mass appeal and with, you know, in Paxton's case, tons of scandal.
01:08:38.960In El Syed's case, just tons of sketchy things around him where you're like, what?
01:08:46.880So here's the other thing about Michigan.
01:08:49.160Mike Rogers, he lost already. So he lost to the horrible Elissa Slotkin, right? That's who she beat to get into office. And she's hideous. So why did the Republicans run him again? That's one of my questions.
01:09:09.120Here she is. Honestly, she's one of my least favorite people in the Senate, because, like, unlike Maisie Hirono, who knows she's dumb.1.00
01:09:17.880She's like, I can't believe I made it. I made it like great.0.94
01:09:22.660I'm just going to ask my dumb questions because I guess there's a role for all of us here.0.89
01:09:26.480Alyssa Slotkin thinks she's brilliant and she thinks she knows better than everyone.0.99
01:09:31.420Her questioning of Pete Hegseth at his confirmation hearing made me want to punch her fat face.0.96
01:09:37.120face i don't believe in physical violence i never punched anybody well there was a fight in the0.98
01:09:41.600middle school but in any event um so here's alissa slotkin popping back out just in time
01:09:49.520for michiganders to make their decisions and alissa slotkin wanted everyone to know this
01:09:56.080she spoke recently at the university of chicago and um well we can play 19 and 20 let's get into
01:10:02.020one after the other. We do have to have accountability for the unbelievable corruption
01:10:07.300that we are living under right now. But you can't just make that your whole personality, right? So
01:10:13.380you have to pick signature cases and you have to go after people and projects that are just super
01:10:20.000egregious. So everyone knows the East Wing of the White House, right? And people feel that in a way
01:10:27.340that's different from a nameless contract for sure at the pentagon or whatever so you need to pick
01:10:32.160those signature cases and go hard on accountability not just trump right because of course there will
01:10:38.040be moments of like let's go after trump himself as someone who voted to impeach him twice like
01:10:43.180he's still there right but the people around donald trump who are doing his bidding and
01:10:49.200enabling this have no such immunity they have no immunity the way the president does and to me he
01:10:55.300couldn't do any of this stuff without all those people saluting and supporting it.
01:10:59.840So you go after the people who did his bidding.
01:11:02.320I want to look at these signature cases and not just focus on the president,
01:11:56.380It's because they try to intimidate conservatives from being a part of the process whatsoever.
01:12:01.860What she's saying is essentially so many young people saw President Trump get elected, and especially the work that Scott Cooper is doing at OPM with TechForce and recruiting young people to come into government and to make a difference and to bring that energy and to start your career off by giving back to your country.
01:12:20.920in a way that you can serve and make this country better for everyone she
01:12:25.020wants to put a cloud of intimidation over them and make them scared for their1.00
01:12:29.980livelihood and simply for taking a part in this process and so brazen enough1.00
01:12:34.300that she did it on Union University of Chicago's campus she's doing it to a
01:12:38.780room full of these kids ostensibly some of them are conservatives who'd like to
01:12:44.080get involved in politics so that to have the audacity to now be like oh well I
01:12:49.000I wasn't talking about intimidating young people.
01:13:09.500by threatening them all with criminal prosecution.
01:13:12.280And by the way, Alyssa Slotkin has a background with the CIA.
01:13:15.580So F her, because that threat may feel very real coming from a former CIA agent and now U.S. senator to like some 20-year-old just about to get out of college.0.99
01:13:42.120you know i mean everything she said there was punctuated with like a little line of the hand
01:13:46.640or some i mean it's unbelievable very hard to watch yeah yeah i mean she really wanted attention
01:13:53.620she would just spend more time on like her hair and makeup routine frankly she doesn't need to do0.97
01:13:58.580all that shit with the hands she's taking lessons from gavin newson we're gonna get the guilt by0.98
01:14:02.980association of just sitting next to her while she says that oh you know i'm right you know i am right1.00
01:14:08.960Please. Melissa Slotkin. I'm sorry to be nasty, but she's ugly on the inside. And that's the problem with her. Like everything she does is truly hateful. And what I really can't stand about her is when she beat Mike Rogers. Again, if you lose, the party should really give a serious thought about running somebody for a second time.
01:14:28.480But anyway, well, she beat him. It was a close race by saying, I, I get the Trump voters. I understand you. I have the same voters that he does the same year he won. I won. And, you know, like I like I get you. I feel it. And this is such a lie. Listen to the way she's talking. These these people believed it.
01:14:52.480they voted Democrat and now she's threatening to put their children in jail if they decide to go
01:14:57.940work for Trump that's the whole thing it's the same thing as Abigail Spanberger is you when
01:15:01.640you're in the general you run like you're a moderate like oh you know I'm just a normal
01:15:05.660person you can trust me and then once you're there once you're in power you become a left-wing0.97
01:15:11.060lunatic and straight up threatening young people to ruin their lives is the most egregious thing0.97
01:15:16.080it's it's shocking for anyone in this country to say but to come from a sitting senator is shameful
01:15:26.180I mean, everybody wants to know what's going to happen in the Senate, what's going to happen in the House.
01:15:31.580What is the conventional wisdom on the program?
01:15:34.760Johnny, you want to kick this one off and we'll go from there.
01:15:37.140So starting with the House, Megan, it's going to be very, very difficult for Republicans to hold on to their majority.
01:15:42.900If you're looking for conventional wisdom, there's an expectation that Republicans are down maybe five to 10, 12 seats heading into next January.
01:15:54.440But one thing I'll point out is that Democrats are so divided internally that a small majority for their party in the House of Representatives does not equal their ability to have control over absolutely everything.
01:16:07.300because their number of DSA types who are going to be telling Hakeem Jeffries what to do
01:16:12.360is so great that they will be very dysfunctional. When you think about the Senate, I mean, it is a
01:16:19.560difficult situation for Republicans. There are not really very many states where Republicans
01:16:24.680are on offense this cycle. And so you could see a Senate coming back in January that's maybe 50-50.
01:16:32.760I mean, you look at some of these races.
01:16:34.360I do think that in Ohio, John Husted seems to be on the rise over Sherrod Brown.
01:16:41.160What he's expecting voters in Ohio to do is change their mind about him in just two years.
01:16:46.320I think that John Husted can win in Ohio.
01:16:48.440It looks like Ashley Henson in Iowa seems to be on the rise there.
01:16:52.720She's got a polling lead and has for about a week now.
01:16:56.060You look at a state like Texas, a very, very difficult state for Republicans.
01:17:00.480You've talked about it a lot on your show, and it is, you know, the demographics in that state have changed with all these people from California and elsewhere moving in and making it a little bluer.
01:17:13.720But the thing is, there are $200 million that have been spent defining James Tallarico to people who aren't as plugged in as we are, or you are, Megan.
01:17:24.320So that seems to be changing Calarico's image and something that we always talk about on the show when you're watching polling, what you need to look at is how information flow informs image and how image informs ballots.
01:17:40.580So it's a three-step process. And when people say, oh, $200 million on TV, it seems like it's just money going down the tubes. No, there's a reason why that those investments are made, because they actually can have an impact on a candidate's image. And the candidate's image has an impact on the ballot.
01:17:57.100So what have we seen over the last month on James Tallarico? His image has slowly degraded. Is it going to be enough to impact the ballot to the point where Ken Paxton can actually beat him on Election Day? We're all going to find out together. But it seems to be trending in the right direction. Of course, very popular governor at the top of the ticket in Texas, Greg Abbott, has been very strong in that state. He's very well liked. So he's going to be pulling Paxton up a little bit himself.
01:18:21.920Yeah, I think there's also just just to compare and contrast with 2018, that that first midterm of the Trump era, when you're sort of new Trump coalition midterm was at its lowest point of turnout.
01:18:38.180Right. And, you know, Democrats obviously won a ton of House races.
01:18:43.740Well, OK, well, now we've done redistricting and the map has really shrunk versus where it was in 2018.
01:18:49.800And it's like, okay, well, in 2018, they still won a lot of seats.
01:19:45.380And I think that's where the disappointment begins for Republicans as you look at what to anticipate in the first Tuesday of November, is that you had a couple of opportunities, one pick up and one hold, that they're not legitimately competing in.
01:20:00.240And so then you start looking at these other red states where Democrats have been playing offense in.
01:21:07.200I think that she continuously defies the odds, and I like her chances right now.
01:21:12.740I think it still means a Senate majority.
01:21:15.140It may be 50-50, and obviously this is not what you would want as a Republican looking into November, but it may preserve majorities in the Senate.
01:21:28.760It does, and I'll come back to something Josh was saying a little bit earlier about these low-propensity Trump voters that need to turn out.
01:21:35.660This is the thing that we always say on the show that you can't black pill in this situation.
01:21:40.520You can't just read The New York Times and it says, oh, Republicans are going to lose and then it's over.
01:21:45.260I guess we just just pack it in and we'll wait for two more years.
01:21:52.020And what MAGA Inc. and some of these guys who are close to the president have developed is they think the secret sauce to turn these low propensity Trump voters out in a midterm in a way that they haven't before.
01:22:04.440And you're seeing some of that with the president going around, traveling to these states, doing the rallies, doing his bit where he's making jokes and, you know, reminding people why they originally fell in love with him and reminding them that they have to that they can determine the outcome of this race simply by showing up and voting.
01:22:22.060It is it is one of the most important things for Republicans that they turn out these low propensity Trump MAGA voters.
01:22:30.980And we'll, you know, I will say, OK, but let me let me ask you about that, because our our pal Brahim, who I know we all love, he had some analysis on special report last night that was less enthusiastic about the president's tour and messaging.
01:22:46.540Here it is. Sometimes in the course of a campaign, Brad, you'll see a candidate or a party that's trailing in the polls begin to catch some momentum.
01:25:39.480As the kids would say, John Husted has a dump truck and he's going to use that dump truck to deliver for Ohio.
01:25:47.540But I think it goes to the larger point that I think Ashbrook was making is like Trump is a showman and the people are there for the Trump show.
01:25:55.960And if that gets them to vote early, if it gets them to vote on Election Day, then that's a win.
01:26:00.800But ultimately, at the end of the day, when you're the party in power, you can't let this be just a referendum on the last two years of the Trump administration.
01:26:10.080You have to set the stakes of the choice in this election.
01:26:13.420They're going to raise your taxes for those elderly people who are getting no tax on Social Security.
01:26:20.800Or no tax on tips or no tax on overtime or the fact you secured the border and all those sorts of things that can be done in concert with with what Trump is doing himself personally.
01:26:30.800if that makes sense. Well, wait, here's another possibility. SOT 6.
01:26:35.620So here in Kentucky's 4th District, we're going to send Ed Galrine to the U.S. House of
01:26:43.840Representatives. And he's going to be a perfect man. Now, I needed somebody good. And this guy
01:26:53.240walks through the door. I said, look at this beautiful guy. He shook my hands. He is.
01:26:57.260he's getting interrupted by a protester
01:27:10.540take him back home to mom baby back home to mom
01:27:16.100the president knows beauty he was you know he did pageants forever that's true he understands uh
01:27:26.320television and the art form is a visual medium. And what I also notice is a lot of these protesters
01:27:31.420that are always standing up, they always tend to be really ugly or fat or both. Yeah. Plenty of0.96
01:27:38.160observations. Why are you giving me a hard time about Alyssa Slotkin? I don't feel so comfortable.
01:27:43.340Disgusting. Fair. Fair. The president, in my estimation, the president is trying to charm0.97
01:27:54.580his audience and you know he's trying to make it worth their while they come out they slog they
01:27:59.440have to wait in line they get there they want some laughs they don't want like policy let me
01:28:04.220rehabilitate my decisions on this that or the other thing if they want to laugh they want to
01:28:07.860have a good time they want to be reminded of why they fell in love with him to begin with
01:28:11.140and humor is a huge part of it so he's doing what he can to make them laugh and say things that
01:28:18.160he believes i mean i'm sure he is very looks focused very looks focused and um he does i
01:28:27.000believe think these guys are genuinely good looking and he respects that ken paxton gets
01:28:32.260a different kind of treatment gosh he does sure he does i'm not sure if that's helpful but it
01:28:37.220probably is because he's kind of calling a spade a spade there and they're kind of putting it out
01:28:40.660out there like look he's not the best looking guy that's john houston yeah it's the resonance right
01:28:47.860I mean, what has resonated with the typical MAGA base is not some policy presentation,
01:28:54.100and it's going to look a lot different than previous presidents of both parties when you're
01:28:58.500trying to animate people for a midterm election. So yeah, I mean, people are going to look at me
01:29:02.500like, well, all that's going to do is make the left furious. Well, I got news for them. The
01:29:06.340left's already furious. Yeah, like they're coming. Question is whether our folks do too. And I think
01:29:11.620what this whole effort is about. Okay. Stand by. More to come. Quick break. Back with the fellas

01:31:45.880The fellas from the Ruthless Variety program are back with me now.
01:31:50.380More information on the woman Amy Acton and this dispute that's going on over her past.
01:31:58.780The Columbus Dispatch newspaper reported that her mother's partner, the one she accused of molesting her, left the state before a conviction could be had.
01:32:10.100A warrant was issued for his arrest in October of 87 and December of 81, according to court records.
01:32:16.280But he died in 2004 in southern Pennsylvania. And it does not look like they retrieved him from the state to which he fled, which was Pennsylvania, which is very strange. This happened in Ohio. He fled to Pennsylvania. I don't know why they wouldn't have retrieved him if they thought he had committed child molestation.
01:32:36.140But that's odd. They also report over on the Huffington Post that separately court and newspaper records show that this man was indicted for incest in 1974 before Acton's mother married him due to allegations he had raped his eldest daughter.
01:32:55.260So this does not sound like a great person, and it is very possible she had a very difficult childhood in that family, which may explain some of her emotional difficulties as an adult.
01:33:06.900As for whether you want that in your governor's mansion, that is up to the people of Ohio.
01:33:11.460but I would suggest she's had enough emotional meltdowns involving the police and her ex-husband
01:33:18.660and her colleagues and had enough questions raised about her behavior by independent
01:33:24.240co-workers, forget anybody in her family, that there is serious reason to pause before elevating
01:33:31.580her to a position with the stress and responsibilities of the governorship. Okay,
01:33:38.080Okay, continuing on. This is not political, but it is interesting. So when you think about the
01:33:45.240disease of multiple sclerosis, you think about a couple of people like this, the Hollywood stars
01:33:52.480who have owned having this problem. Like, I mean, I think of Janice Dean, but others think of Selma
01:33:59.220Blair, who's had, you know, some problems recently. And Christina Applegate is really the person I
01:34:04.680think most people at least famous people um associate with this disease because she was
01:34:10.820one of the first to come out and say she had it it's been so debilitating to her and you know
01:34:15.640we've seen her look in a wheelchair and with a cane and she holds a whole podcast called messy
01:34:21.600which is based on m and s you know like with another gal who has it well she had a bit of0.92
01:34:28.120announcement this week. And here it was, SOP 30. All of a sudden, a few years ago, my doctor,
01:34:36.800a couple, no, just a couple years ago, said, I want to see something. I want to take you
01:34:42.020off of the infusion. And I want to watch your B cells. And my B cells didn't change.
01:34:51.200They didn't go higher. They didn't go lower. They didn't change. And she had never seen that.
01:34:55.880So I guess that began kind of a study into my diagnosis.
01:35:02.220And just recently, you're not going to freaking believe this, just recently, guys, now listen to me.
01:35:09.380This may come as great news, but to me it comes as like I'm back at square one.
01:35:15.220But it's hard to say that she came into my room and she said, congratulations, you don't have MS.
01:35:25.880congratulations I was like not happy at all because you don't get misdiagnosed and then
01:35:33.480all of a sudden I'm better right I haven't gotten better Jamie yeah if anything I've gotten worse
01:35:39.960in some ways I became like this you know you and I the poster children for MS and yeah all that I
01:35:48.620did for the you know everything that I was doing I mean I had it's like I had a reason I had a0.87
01:35:54.700fucking reason as to why my day sucked every day and now i don't have a reason0.70
01:36:00.240okay i cannot keep up you guys i'm sorry but like the woman who's made like every public0.97
01:36:11.300statement about health for the past several years all about her ms she's hosting an ms podcast has
01:36:17.500now come out to tell us all she doesn't actually have it this has all been a wild goose chase
01:36:23.720she has no idea what she actually has and i just think this is like the problem with celebrities
01:36:30.540like wanting to lean into their health problems and like now i will be the face of ms and i'm0.97
01:36:36.640sure there are a lot of ms sufferers out there who are like what and she's crying because she
01:36:42.660doesn't have ms she's crying now because i guess she no longer gets to be the face of this disease
01:36:48.660And as she said, she's back to square one.
01:36:50.800She's made like a cottage industry of talking about her MS.1.00
01:36:54.720And by the way, so is Selma Blair, who has like given tons of interviews about her MS.0.85
01:37:13.180She has a light limp, but she seems like all the physical, like, I don't know what's going0.86
01:37:18.020on here, but to me, it is directly related to the currency that some women in particular find
01:37:24.120in having an affliction, a disease, or anything that will garner sympathy for them in the public
01:37:31.300eye. Like, very few men do this, but this is definitely a thing for women, and it's cultural,
01:37:37.540it's societal. Your thoughts? Well, there's a reason why, and I think this is particularly for
01:37:43.060men is that if you're seen as sympathetic, like that there's something wrong with you, then
01:37:49.360women see that as incredibly unattractive. Like a man is not someone who garners much sympathy
01:37:56.220from anyone in the world. Like just look at statistics. Men commit suicide at a much higher
01:38:01.340rate. Men suffer from homelessness at a much higher rate. Men go off and they die in war.
01:38:07.560uh men suffer from so many different conditions but uh the message that we always see in the
01:38:13.100media is that like you know it's time to uplift the women like this time it's it's a woman's turn
01:38:18.460or like we it's it's it's the future is female um and specifically i think what you may also be1.00
01:38:26.380alluding to is that for many liberal white women uh if they want to be a a good ally because1.00
01:38:34.060Because there's like this kind of like hierarchy of where are you on the ladder of are you BIPOC, LGBT?1.00
01:38:43.400They have to join the Oppression Olympics, and this is their only vehicle to do.0.99
01:38:48.100If you're on social media, you scroll on Instagram or go on TikTok, you'll see that there is a whole cottage industry of content farming around mental illness, physical ailments done by women to each other, which is really, really crazy.0.67
01:39:02.560I'm curious, Megan, because it wasn't in the clip, I mean, my first thought, if I had a diagnosis of MS, right, and I'm in a wheelchair and all of this, and they tell me now I don't have MS, what is putting her in the wheelchair?
01:39:20.160What do these doctors think is the reason?
01:39:22.840Have they said any of that, or has she said any of that?
01:39:25.200she doesn't know that's one of her frustrations is now she feels like she's back to square one
01:39:31.280because she like doesn't know what's wrong with her and she told um actually do we have this
01:39:38.220here's Christina Applegate talking to GMA's Robin Roberts in 2024 and listen to this
01:39:43.520she credits her former co-star and good friend Selma Blair for urging her to get tested for MS0.90
01:39:50.560whatever happened to my cool confident roommate it's a big facade blair was also diagnosed with
01:39:56.840a degenerative disease of the central nervous system in 2018 she goes you need to be checked
01:40:03.060for ms i said no it's really the odds the two of us from the same movie come on that's not gonna be
01:40:11.220that doesn't happen she knew i i just i feel like this whole thing is fraught like putting
01:40:20.540any stock into the Hollywood crowd and their alleged ailments? Because we went back and looked
01:40:25.940at it. And a few years ago, Christina Applegate had given a statement saying, oh, a few years ago,
01:40:32.340my doctor said, I just want to see something. I want to take you off of these infusions. I want
01:40:37.780to watch your B cells. And guess what? They didn't change. Yeah. So this was in this exchange we just
01:40:43.520showed. I don't know, guys, but I think there's too much emphasis placed on people's disorders.
01:40:50.160You know what I mean? Like in the same way that every college essay to get in has to be about how terrible your life was and all the terrible things that happened to you and how you overcame them.
01:40:59.020As opposed to I was raised a happy child with an intact family and I was taught to love my country, God, and my parents.
