00:00:39.880 Voting for Zohran is not, we're going to vote for Zohran and just let him do whatever the hell he wants when he gets to City Hall.
00:00:45.840 It's Election Day, and New York City mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani gets a warning from a radical and influential backer.
00:00:53.660 A new report reveals all the ways in which Democrats are struggling post the 2024 presidential election. 0.98
00:01:00.920 They're killing the Christians and killing them in very large numbers. 1.00
00:01:04.400 We're not going to allow that to happen. 0.97
00:01:06.000 President Trump puts the Nigerian government on notice over reports of Christian persecution.
00:01:11.160 And Team Trump swoops in to help Dilbert cartoon creator and all-around brilliant guy Scott Adams in his fight against cancer.
00:01:20.220 All that and more coming up in just a moment on your AM Update.
00:01:23.800 We'll be right back.
00:01:53.780 Their story is just one example of how Walmart's U.S. manufacturing investment is supporting over 750,000 American jobs.
00:02:16.020 Businesses across the country are empowered to sell more, hire more, and help their communities grow.
00:02:20.660 From farms to factories to final shopping carts, learn how Walmart is fueling the future of U.S. manufacturing at walmart.com slash americaatwork.
00:02:33.120 It's Election Day, and no race in the country is being watched more closely than the New York City mayoral election.
00:02:39.500 Many across the country wondering whether the city is actually going to elect a Muslim socialist mayoral candidate, Zoran Mamdani, as mayor of New York.
00:02:49.920 The final Atlas Intel poll of the race showing Democrat candidate Mamdani leading with 43.9 percent of the vote,
00:02:57.580 followed by independent and former Democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo at 39.4 percent, with Republican Curtis Sliwa trailing at 15.5 percent.
00:03:09.700 Cuomo closing the gap to just four and a half points with days to go.
00:03:14.000 Still, Polymarket predicting with 91 percent certainty that Mamdani will win.
00:03:20.900 In a late twist, Elon Musk throwing a last-minute endorsement behind Cuomo on X, quote,
00:03:26.380 Remember to vote tomorrow in New York.
00:03:28.980 Bear in mind that a vote for Curtis is really a vote for Mumdummy, or whatever his name is.
00:03:34.680 Vote Cuomo.
00:03:36.020 Meanwhile, one of the themes of Mamdani's campaign surfaces again.
00:03:40.020 Difficulty locking down high-profile Democrat endorsements, including that of former President Barack Obama.
00:03:47.420 The New York Times reporting the former president spoke with Mamdani by phone,
00:03:51.600 praising his campaign, offering to act as a sounding board, but stopping short of offering his endorsement.
00:03:58.960 On Sunday, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, who waited until just before early voting began to endorse Mamdani,
00:04:05.420 clarifying to CNN that the candidate is not the future of the Democrat Party.
00:04:11.120 Mamdani responding on CNN.
00:04:13.700 Hakeem Jeffries was asked this morning if you're the future of the Democratic Party.
00:04:17.060 He said no.
00:04:18.340 Good to know.
00:04:19.720 Do you have a response?
00:04:21.180 No, I'm focused on the next two days.
00:04:22.900 Do you think you're the future of the Democratic Party?
00:04:24.900 I don't dare predict the future.
00:04:26.340 That's why I'm out here canvassing to do with my anxiety to get through the tape of the future of 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
00:04:30.820 The candidate kicking off the final day of campaigning with an early morning march across the Brooklyn Bridge,
00:04:36.500 then delivering brief remarks to his supporters.
00:04:39.480 As New Yorkers in every borough contend with an affordability crisis that he promised to fix but has only exacerbated,
00:04:48.060 let City Hall, with our compassion, our conviction, and our clarity,
00:04:53.180 be the light that our city and our nation so desperately need.
00:04:57.080 Late last night, Andrew Cuomo received Donald Trump's endorsement.
00:05:03.040 If elected as mayor, our city will only descend deeper into a darkness that has forced too many of our neighbors to flee
00:05:10.420 and made it impossible for working people to live lives of dignity.
00:05:14.820 Speaking of fleeing the Big Apple, a new poll from JL Partners for the Daily Mail finding
00:05:20.680 9% of New Yorkers say they would definitely leave the city if Mamdani wins.
00:05:26.220 Nearly 1 million people.
00:05:28.360 Another 25% say they would at least consider leaving.
00:05:31.780 Texas Governor Greg Abbott, a Republican, chiming in on X,
00:05:34.880 quote, after the polls close tomorrow night, I will impose a 100% tariff on anyone moving to Texas from New York.
00:05:42.960 The New York Post reporting earlier this week, there's been a mad dash to Connecticut.
00:05:47.760 Homes in Greenwich, nearly impossible to buy, no inventory,
00:05:51.620 as wealthy New Yorkers get out of Dodge with Mamdani eyeballing their money. 0.64
00:05:57.120 Multimillionaire Shark Tank investor Kevin O'Leary predicting last week on Fox Business,
00:06:01.760 Mamdani will be forced to moderate his views once in office.
00:06:06.360 You may not like the message, but free chicks, free money is a great message. 0.87
00:06:11.000 And it always works, and he will be mayor.
00:06:13.620 Then he's going to have to come to people like me and say,
00:06:16.260 hey, lend me $30 million for low-end housing.
00:06:20.040 I want you to give me the debt portion, the equity portion of that building.
00:06:22.720 And I'm going to say-
00:06:23.000 What are you going to say?
00:06:23.720 I say I can't because nobody will fund that because you have rent control on a pre-construction building.
00:06:28.860 Have you thought that through on policy yet?
00:06:31.760 Time will tell, but Mamdani's own base is already warning him not to drift to the center.
00:06:37.580 Mamdani ally and Islamic activist Linda Sarsour saying on a Sunday Instagram live session,
00:06:44.260 she will hold Mamdani accountable if he fails to deliver.
00:06:48.120 Sarsour already raising objections to Mamdani's decision to keep career cop Jessica Tish
00:06:53.620 in her post as NYPD commissioner if he is elected, fearing there will be resistance to
00:06:59.380 shuttering the Strategic Response Group, or SRG.
00:07:02.940 That's a specialized group within the NYPD dedicated to responding to citywide mobilizations,
00:07:08.360 including anti-Israel protests.
00:07:11.000 Here is Sarsour on Sunday on Instagram.
00:07:13.440 I don't have a problem with holding people accountable.
00:07:17.040 So voting for Zahran is not, we're going to vote for Zahran and just let him do whatever
00:07:21.380 the hell he wants when he gets to City Hall.
00:07:23.360 Our job as a movement is we have to hold whoever goes to City Hall accountable.
00:07:27.360 You know, I'm not going to lie.
00:07:28.500 I wasn't really happy about the news that he was going to keep Tish on for the NYPD.
00:07:32.700 So I'll just say that.
00:07:34.020 So I'm basically saying to myself, if Zahran is going to be the mayor of New York City,
00:07:38.420 and he's going to shut down the Strategic Response Group, the SRG, which is what Zahran
00:07:43.560 has committed to.
00:07:45.020 So if Zahran tells Tish, we're shutting down the, you know, SRG, we're going to do certain
00:07:50.920 things in a certain way.
00:07:52.580 That means that Tish has to execute the vision of the mayor.
00:07:56.060 Now, if she doesn't do that and goes against the mayor, then that's when we're going to
00:08:00.080 have to go to Zahran and be like, you definitely made the wrong decision here.
00:08:04.520 What are you going to do to hold your police commissioner accountable to the plan?
00:08:08.060 Polls close at 9 p.m. tonight.
00:08:09.860 We will have full coverage of this on Wednesday morning.
00:08:14.280 In the wake of the Democrats' 2024 election wipeout, losing every swing state and the popular
00:08:20.300 vote, a new postmortem funded by a left-leaning nonprofit, Democracy Matters, paints an even bleaker
00:08:26.680 picture for the party heading into 2026.
00:08:29.160 The results of the nine-month, 21-state research project finding the party seriously struggling
00:08:35.460 with working-class voters as 6 in 10 have a negative view of the party, believing it
00:08:41.120 to be, quote, woke, weak, and out of touch.
00:08:44.000 According to the report reviewed by Politico, the 3,000 working-class voters surveyed, quote,
00:08:49.460 can't name what Democrats stand for other than being against Trump.
00:08:53.600 The report also finding Senator Bernie Sanders and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,
00:08:59.560 despite drawing large crowds at their fight oligarchy tour, may not be utilizing the most
00:09:04.580 effective messaging.
00:09:05.960 According to Politico, in the report, their surveys found, quote, a candidate focused on
00:09:10.860 taking on big corporations and the wealthy received 43 percent support, while a candidate,
00:09:17.160 quote, focused on fixing the economy so those who work hard can get ahead, earned 52 percent.
00:09:24.900 Co-chair of Democracy Matters, Mitch Landrieu, telling Politico, quote,
00:09:28.840 not one person in all of our focus groups mentioned the word oligarchy.
00:09:33.280 The takeaway, says Democratic pollster Molly Murphy, who contributed to the project, is, quote,
00:09:39.460 working-class voters need to know Democrats respect people who build wealth, and we are
00:09:44.860 not looking to punish them.
00:09:46.860 The report finding two key areas of weakness for Dems, immigration and transgender rights.
00:09:52.840 From the report, quote, don't say Republicans need to stop attacking LGBT people.
00:09:58.240 Instead, say everyone, Republicans and Democrats, need to stop obsessing over this issue.
00:10:05.220 One-third of independents, according to the findings, would be, quote,
00:10:08.420 much more likely to support Dems if they said, quote,
00:10:11.600 transgender women, meaning men, should not play in women's sports. 1.00
00:10:18.360 Coming up, President Trump warning Nigeria, protect persecuted Christians in your country 0.98
00:10:23.900 or else.
00:10:24.800 And an update on Dilbert creator Scott Adams' cancer battle.
00:10:29.900 Lots of love from Team Trump.
00:10:36.080 More people today are looking beyond the standard approach when it comes to their health,
00:10:40.160 especially in the fight against cancer.
00:10:43.040 Two medications you've probably heard about, ivermectin and mabendazole,
00:10:47.260 are being researched for their off-label potential to support cancer treatment.
00:10:51.780 Studies suggest they may help inhibit cancer cell growth and make certain therapies more
00:10:57.380 effective.

00:11:35.880 President Trump over the weekend putting the Nigerian government on notice,
00:11:39.800 writing Friday afternoon on Truth Social, quote,
00:11:41.960 According to an August report by the International Society for Civil Liberties and the Rule of Law,
00:12:09.140 in the first seven months of this year in Nigeria, more than 7,000 Christians were killed.
00:12:14.720 Between 2009 and 2023, that group estimating at least 52,000 Christians were killed,
00:12:21.420 with more than 20,000 schools and churches attacked.
00:12:25.460 The groups responsible include Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram, its offshoots,
00:12:30.980 and Fulani militants, a large Muslim group in the region.
00:12:34.460 Mr. Trump directing U.S. Congressman from West Virginia, Riley Moore,
00:12:38.680 a leading voice against the persecution of Christians in Nigeria,
00:12:42.180 along with House Appropriations Chair Tom Cole, to look into the matter and report back.
00:12:47.040 The label, country of a particular concern, is a legal designation the president may apply
00:12:51.960 to governments found to be, quote, engaged in or tolerating particularly severe violations of religious freedom.
00:12:58.660 Under the designation, the State Department may impose a range of penalties,
00:13:03.320 including cutting or reducing U.S. aid assistance and blocking U.S. loans to violating countries.
00:13:09.300 The first Trump administration designating Nigeria a country of particular concern in December 2020.
00:13:16.300 The Biden administration reversing the designation in 2023,
00:13:20.740 in an apparent gesture of goodwill ahead of a visit from then-Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
00:13:26.340 The Nigerian president responding to President Trump on X, quote,
00:13:30.540 The characterization of Nigeria as religiously intolerant does not reflect our national reality,
00:13:36.840 nor does it take into consideration the consistent and sincere efforts of the government
00:13:40.780 to safeguard freedom of religion and beliefs for all Nigerians.
00:13:46.040 Hours later, President Trump posting to Truth Social, quote,
00:13:48.800 If the Nigerian government continues to allow the killing of Christians,
00:13:53.200 the USA will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria
00:13:56.780 and may very well go into that now disgraced country, guns a-blazing, 0.99
00:14:01.580 to completely wipe out the Islamic terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities. 0.99
00:14:07.080 I am hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action. 0.99
00:14:11.340 If we attack, it will be fast, vicious, and sweet, 0.86
00:14:15.880 just like the terrorist thugs attack our cherished Christians. 0.98
00:14:20.020 Warning, the Nigerian government better move fast.
00:14:24.160 On Air Force One Sunday, the president not ruling out U.S. boots on the ground.
00:14:29.120 On Nigeria, just wanted to ask you, do you envisage U.S. boots on the ground or airstrikes?
00:14:35.160 Could be. I mean, a lot of things I envisage.
00:14:37.420 A lot of things. They're killing record numbers of Christians in Nigeria. 0.87
00:14:43.660 And they have other countries, very bad also.
00:14:46.660 You know that, that part of the world, very bad. 0.99
00:14:49.280 They're killing the Christians and killing them in very large numbers. 1.00
00:14:53.040 We're not going to allow that to happen. 0.99
00:14:54.780 Some dispute the characterization of the violence as religious persecution.
00:14:58.820 CNN reporting, quote,
00:14:59.900 The reality on the ground, experts and analysts say,
00:15:03.300 is a more complex and nuanced one.
00:15:05.220 Both Christians and Muslims, the two main religious groups in the country of more than 230 million people,
00:15:11.380 have been victims of attacks by radical Islamists.
00:15:15.080 However, a report from the Observatory for Religious Freedom in Africa
00:15:18.800 finds the violence in Nigeria disproportionately victimizes Christians.
00:15:23.800 Quote,
00:15:24.000 More from the report, quote,
00:15:48.920 In the four-year reporting period, the actual ratio of Christians to Muslims killed was 2.7 to 1.
00:15:56.520 When taking into account the size of the Christian and Muslim populations in the individual states where attacks occurred,
00:16:02.740 the proportional ratio of Christians to Muslims killed rises to 6.5 to 1.
00:16:08.860 President Trump's initiative receiving an unexpected endorsement from rapper Nicki Minaj,
00:16:13.620 who posted on X, quote,
00:16:15.560 Reading this made me feel a deep sense of gratitude.
00:16:19.100 We live in a country where we can freely worship God.
00:16:21.960 No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion.
00:16:25.760 We don't have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other.
00:16:29.940 Numerous countries all around the world are being affected by this horror,
00:16:33.540 and it's dangerous to pretend we don't notice.
00:16:36.180 Thank you to the president and his team for taking this seriously.
00:16:39.940 Beloved cartoonist and Dilbert creator Scott Adams facing a critical moment in his fight against metastatic prostate cancer,
00:16:49.740 posting a dire call for help to X early Sunday morning, quote,
00:16:53.860 On Monday, I will ask President Trump via X to help save my life.
00:16:58.180 My health care provider, Kaiser of Northern California,
00:17:01.320 has approved my application to receive a newly FDA-approved drug called Pluvicto,
00:17:06.680 But they have dropped the ball in scheduling the brief IV to administer it,
00:17:11.000 and I can't seem to fix that.
00:17:13.040 I am declining fast.
00:17:15.000 The Post continuing, quote,
00:17:16.580 I will ask President Trump if he can get Kaiser of Northern California to respond and schedule it for Monday.
00:17:22.620 That will give me a fighting chance to stick around on this planet a little bit longer.
00:17:27.220 It is not a cure, but it does give good results to many people.
00:17:31.060 Adams first announcing his diagnosis in May,
00:17:33.420 shortly after former President Joe Biden announced his diagnosis with the same type of cancer.
00:17:39.140 Within hours of Adams' Sunday announcement, the response building rapidly.
00:17:44.360 MAGA World rallying online, amplifying his plea, and working every channel to assist.
00:17:49.700 By Sunday afternoon, the appeal making it all the way to the president's desk.
00:17:53.920 Mr. Trump responding simply on Truth Social, quote,
00:17:56.880 On it.
00:17:57.960 Monday morning on Rumble, Adams describing the behind-the-scenes events.
00:18:01.980 I was contacted by Don Jr., who is literally in Africa.
00:18:07.020 He's in Africa on a Sunday.
00:18:09.840 And Don Jr. is calling me and saying,
00:18:11.440 Leah, I'm on this.
00:18:13.200 You know, my father wants me to get this done.
00:18:15.920 Then Bobby Kennedy calls me.
00:18:17.920 Bobby Kennedy calls me.
00:18:19.360 Like, what can I do?
00:18:20.520 What's the situation?
00:18:22.100 Dr. Oz calls me.
00:18:23.720 Dr. Oz, what's the situation?
00:18:26.140 How can I help?
00:18:27.740 Oh, my God.
00:18:28.620 And then you may have seen that President Trump, best president ever.
00:18:33.600 He posted my message to him that was on X yesterday.
00:18:36.800 It was a public message.
00:18:38.160 And he just said, on it.
00:18:40.100 On it.
00:18:41.320 Meanwhile, Kaiser Permanente releasing a statement, quote,
00:18:44.220 Mr. Adams' oncology team is working closely with him on the next steps in his cancer care,
00:18:49.480 which are already underway.
00:18:51.560 Adams sharing the latest Monday afternoon on X, quote,
00:18:54.480 update, getting Pluvicto, the cancer drug, tomorrow via Kaiser, Northern California.
00:19:00.440 The Trump administration works fast.
00:19:02.660 Amazing.
