The Megyn Kelly Show - Obama Hits Trail For Dems in Tight Races, Halloween Terror Plot, Another UK Stabbing： AM Update 11⧸3

00:00:00.000 Good morning, everyone. I'm Megyn Kelly. It's Monday, November 3rd, 2025, and this is your

00:00:08.320 AM update. It's like every day is Halloween, except it's all tricks and no treats.

00:00:14.400 It's Election Day Eve, and Barack Obama is on the campaign trail attacking the Trump

00:00:19.280 administration while he stumps for Democrats in New Jersey and Virginia, including the

00:00:24.620 guy who said he wants to kill Republicans.

00:00:26.920 Are there notes of caution here for Democrats? Yes, there are. This is the big one right 0.62

00:00:31.680 here. The party's image. Democrats only 28 percent positive. Look at that, 53 negative.

00:00:37.220 Polling continues to show the Democrats have a major branding problem. The FBI says it thwarted

00:00:43.180 a terror attack in Michigan and another shocking stabbing incident in the United Kingdom.

00:00:48.780 All that and more coming up in just a moment on your AM update.

00:00:52.040 I've been talking a lot about Riverbend Ranch because I love their steaks. Riverbend Ranch

00:01:01.400 has taken black Angus beef to a whole new level. For the last 35 years, Riverbend Ranch has been

00:01:07.580 creating a very elite Angus herd by using ultrasound to select genetically superior cattle with a focus

00:01:14.680 on flavor and tenderness. When you purchase from Riverbend Ranch, you are not only supporting the

00:01:19.800 64 cowboys and cowgirls and their families who work on that ranch, but you're also supporting over

00:01:24.540 260 other U.S. ranches and the hundreds of American families who work on those. It is born in the USA,

00:01:31.700 raised in the USA, and this beef is processed in the USA as well. It's aged to perfection for 21 days

00:01:37.960 and shipped directly from the ranch to your home. This is not your average black Angus beef.

00:01:43.400 So order from RiverbendRanch.com. Use the promo code Megan for 20 bucks off your first order.

00:01:50.080 And let me know what you think. RiverbendRanch.com, promo code M-E-G-Y-N.

00:01:57.740 Tomorrow is election day when the next governor of the state of New Jersey and the next governor of

00:02:03.300 the Commonwealth of Virginia will be decided. In Virginia, Democrat and former Congresswoman

00:02:08.500 Abigail Spanberger taking on Republican Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earl Sears. In New Jersey,

00:02:14.700 it's Republican Jack Chattarelli, a former businessman and state assemblyman against

00:02:19.460 Democratic Congresswoman Mikey Sherrill. Axios reporting over the weekend that Trump's political

00:02:24.980 operation is spending over $1 million in each state to target Trump voters who usually sit out

00:02:31.900 off your elections. Pro-Trump entities, including the Republican National Committee,

00:02:36.660 pouring over lists of voters the Trump campaign identified as being less dependable ahead of the

00:02:42.760 2024 elections, operatives reportedly attempting to persuade them to vote through phone banking

00:02:48.720 and digital ads. Mr. Trump himself has not campaigned on the ground in either New Jersey

00:02:54.220 or Virginia. Sometimes that can be unhelpful if the state is dominated by the other party. 0.90

00:02:59.820 But last week, he participated in a tele-rally with current Virginia governor,

00:03:04.340 Republican Glenn Youngkin, aimed at turning out voters in the state. Mr. Youngkin's seen as a

00:03:10.280 formidable Republican on the national stage, but the Virginia Constitution prohibits consecutive

00:03:15.660 terms for the governor position. Mr. Trump on October 24th holding a similar tele-rally for

00:03:21.860 Jack Chattarelli, whom he officially endorsed. The Democrats turning to who else? Former President

00:03:28.580 Barack Obama, who hit the campaign trail Saturday in both Virginia and New Jersey.

00:03:33.560 Here's Mr. Obama in Norfolk, Virginia, where he used the bulk of his remarks to

00:03:38.320 attack Donald Trump.

00:03:39.960 Because let's face it, our country and our politics are in a pretty dark place right

00:03:45.680 now. It's hard to know where to start. Because every day, this White House offers up a French 1.00

00:03:52.320 batch of lawlessness and recklessness and mean-spiritedness and just plain craziness.

00:04:00.840 We got a president who thinks it's okay to use the Justice Department to go after his political

00:04:05.000 opponents. Hey, wait, wait, don't boo. Vote. They don't hear boos, they hear votes. He's deploying

00:04:12.400 the National Guard in American cities, claiming to stop crime waves that don't actually exist.

00:04:19.400 We've got masked ICE agents pulling up in unmarked vans and grabbing people, including U.S. citizens.

00:04:26.260 It's like every day is Halloween, except it's all tricks and no treats.

00:04:31.060 But it was another man at the rally whose presence seemed to eclipse even that of Mr. Obama,

00:04:37.140 Jay Jones, the Democrat Party's nominee for attorney general in Virginia,

00:04:41.360 in a surprise appearance opening the event, making no mention of his shocking text message

00:04:46.720 scandal that has upended his campaign. As first reported by National Review last month,

00:04:52.080 Jones sent texts where he fantasized about the murder of a Republican colleague

00:04:56.960 and the death of that colleague's children. Jones Saturday attacking, all together now,

00:05:03.240 President Donald Trump, as well as his opponent, Republican Attorney General Jason Meares.

00:05:08.760 Over 50 times, Jason Meares has had the chance to sue the president this year to protect Virginia,

00:05:15.200 and he's not stepped up. And that comes at our expense. And I got something to say to that.

00:05:20.520 Virginia deserves better. And there is a reason that Donald Trump has endorsed Jason Meares in

00:05:26.480 this campaign. He said Jason will never let us down. And what that means is that he'll never let

00:05:32.240 Donald Trump down. But I'm running for attorney general to put Virginia first, to make sure that

00:05:37.960 we protect our pocketbooks, that we protect our health care access, that we protect a woman's right 0.52

00:05:45.020 to an abortion. The texting scandal becoming a big issue in the gubernatorial race, with Lieutenant

00:05:52.340 Governor Earl Sears on Saturday in Loudoun County attacking Abigail Spamburger for failing to call

00:05:58.140 for Jones to exit the race. When my opponent says that when it comes to her candidate for attorney general 1.00

00:06:08.040 saying that two bullets to the head for his political opponent, and that the wife of his 0.99

00:06:15.420 political opponent was breeding, quote unquote, fascists, and that they needed to die to the two 1.00

00:06:23.440 children. And all she says is, well, she is disgusted. And then she is unhappy. Unhappy Abigail? 0.98

00:06:33.620 Wait a minute. Unhappy Abigail? About murder? How about you get a backbone and tell him he needed to

00:06:42.500 get out of the race? How about you do that? The Real Clear Politics average of polls showing

00:06:48.340 Spamburger with a nine-point lead, but many pointing out Democrats would not have deployed former

00:06:54.100 President Barack Obama to the Commonwealth if they were not concerned about the race. Polls in the

00:06:59.840 attorney general race showing a much tighter contest, Republican Mieras holding a 1.6-point lead over

00:07:06.040 Jones in the Real Clear polling average. Mark Halperin, host of Next Up with Mark Halperin on the

00:07:11.780 MK Media Network, telling the Megyn Kelly show last month that Republicans need to keep the governor's

00:07:17.020 race within about six points in order for Mieras to win in the AG spot.

00:07:21.840 I think if Spamburger wins by more than six, I think she'll save the bottom of the ticket.

00:07:29.060 But if it's closer than that, yeah, by six or more, I think probably the Democrats sweep. But if it's

00:07:36.100 less than that, then I think Jones will lose. Mr. Obama also making an appearance in New Jersey

00:07:42.260 Saturday, where he reverted back to one of his favorite attacks, accusing Republicans of discriminating

00:07:48.200 against minorities. The point is, there is absolutely no evidence that Republican policies

00:07:55.400 have made life better for the people in New Jersey. They've devoted enormous energy to

00:08:00.380 entrenching themselves in power, punishing their enemies, enriching their friends, silencing their

00:08:06.200 critics. They put on a big show of deporting people and targeting transgender folks. They never

00:08:13.460 miss a chance to scapegoat minorities and blame DEI for every problem under the sun.

00:08:20.560 You got a flat tire? Must be DEI. Your wife kicked you out? DEI. Who knew? But what they haven't done

00:08:28.620 is help you. Meanwhile, his wife Michelle is making the rounds to promote her fashion book and

00:08:34.140 complaining, we didn't give her family the same grace we give other first families, presumably because

00:08:40.900 of skin color. So who is it that's making DEI a nonstop thing? Barack? While in New Jersey, 1.00

00:08:47.580 the 44th president seeming to flirt with a member of the audience before remembering to shout out his

00:08:53.000 missus. I love you, but hold on. I heard you, girl. Just just settle down. I'm here to talk to

00:09:00.620 everybody, not just you. I mean, you look cute, but I ain't married. Michelle's fine too.

00:09:08.980 Polls show a razor-tight race between the Democrat, Cheryl, and the Republican, Chattarelli.

00:09:14.040 Atlas Intel, the number one-ranked poll by Nate Silver after the 2024 election cycle,

00:09:19.300 has Cheryl up less than one point among likely voters. Unlike Virginia, New Jersey releases party

00:09:25.920 registration stats for early voting. Through Saturday, the early in-person vote is competitive.

00:09:31.860 The Democrats at 41 percent, Republicans at 37. And unaffiliated and other parties getting 22 percent

00:09:38.120 of the vote. However, the Democrats have an advantage of over 266,000 votes when mail-in plus the early

00:09:46.060 in-person votes are combined. At least seven Democrat mayors in the state have endorsed the Republican,

00:09:52.140 Chattarelli. And Chattarelli reminded us on the Megyn Kelly show last week that he had a dominant

00:09:57.440 performance on Election Day back in 2021 when he almost upset incumbent Democrat and current Governor

00:10:04.340 Phil Murphy. Historically speaking, Republicans under poll in this state because we're outnumbered by so

00:10:10.460 many Democrats. But the other thing to keep in mind is back in 2021, I beat Phil Murphy, the current

00:10:16.240 governor on Election Day, in-person voting on the machines by 250,000. So if we're going into Election

00:10:23.580 Day somewhat tied based on the vote-by-mail ballots that have been returned and early voting, nine days

00:10:29.040 of early voting, we're in really good shape. NBC News releasing a national poll Sunday showing a

00:10:34.540 mixed bag for both parties. Republicans hold a 31-point lead over Democrats when it comes to border

00:10:40.680 security, a 22-point lead over Dems in dealing with crime. Democrats hold an eight-point lead over

00:10:47.040 the GOP when it comes to preference for control of Congress in next year's midterms. But even with

00:10:53.480 that, there are warning signs about the Democrats' brand. Here's NBC News Chief Data Analyst Steve

00:11:00.160 Kornacki. As we asked folks, midterm election, which party would you want to control Congress? And the

00:11:05.960 Democrats have now in our poll, this is significant, opened up an eight-point advantage over Republicans.

00:11:11.760 We checked this back in the spring. It was dead even. That eight-point level is typically what you

00:11:17.980 would find for a party that's poised for a big midterm election. That's the kind of lead Democrats

00:11:23.200 had when they swept to power in Congress in Trump's first term. So we'll see if that holds now going

00:11:28.760 forward. But that's a potentially big shift. Are there notes of caution here for Democrats? Yes,

00:11:33.520 there are. This is the big one right here. The party's image. Democrats only 28 percent positive.

00:11:39.540 Look at that, 53 negative. Republicans, it's only 37 and 46. Democrats are 25 points underwater.

00:11:48.260 Coming up, a Halloween terror attack thwarted in Michigan,

00:11:52.060 and a stabbing incident in the U.K. leaves the country rattled.

00:11:55.840 You know all those fad diets? Half of Americans do it. And if you do it enough, 0.98

00:12:04.740 you could be at risk of diabetes, liver damage, heart attack, and stroke. Weight cycling is when

00:12:09.520 you lose 10 or more pounds, but then you put the pounds back plus a couple more. That all puts

00:12:13.960 tremendous strain on your organs and leads to serious health issues. Bottom line, most people

00:12:19.540 need help to stop weight cycling. And that's why I want to tell you about non-prescription lean

00:12:24.500 created by doctors. Lean is an oral supplement, not a GLP-1 injectable. It uses studied ingredients,

00:12:31.600 which lean says target weight loss in three powerful ways, maintaining healthy blood sugar,

00:12:36.500 helping control appetite and cravings, and burning fat by converting it to energy.

00:12:41.260 Burning fat helps keep the weight off. If you want to lose meaningful weight at a healthy pace and keep

00:12:45.960 it off, consider adding lean to your diet and exercise lifestyle. Get 20% off when you enter

00:12:51.900 mk at takelean.com. That's code mk at takelean.com.

00:12:59.120 A scary story from Halloween. FBI Director Cash Patel announcing on X Friday his agency stopped a

00:13:05.860 terror attack in Michigan. Director Patel writing, quote, this morning, the FBI thwarted a potential

00:13:11.540 terrorist attack and arrested multiple subjects in Michigan who were allegedly plotting a violent attack

00:13:17.160 over Halloween weekend. More details to come. Thanks to the men and women of FBI and law

00:13:22.860 enforcement everywhere standing guard 24-7 and crushing our mission to defend the homeland.

00:13:28.800 End quote. Details are still scarce, but a top federal law enforcement official telling Fox News

00:13:34.300 that the potential attack had a connection to ISIS. The Detroit News reporting the FBI Joint Terrorism

00:13:40.740 Task Force raided two homes in Dearborn and a storage facility in nearby Inkster, Michigan.

00:13:47.500 Attorney Amir Makhlid telling the Detroit News five men were questioned by investigators,

00:13:53.140 two taken into custody, including his client. Makhlid claiming to Live Now from Fox, a national news

00:13:59.720 service from Fox television stations, that the group was not planning a mass casualty event or act of

00:14:06.200 terrorism in Michigan and denying that the group had any ties to international terrorist organizations.

00:14:12.960 Well, I can't say that at this point, no one's been charged with any crime. So at this point,

00:14:16.680 the U.S. Attorney's Office has arrested at least two individuals. My client is one of the individuals

00:14:21.700 detained. We can't release the details as to who that person is just yet until and if the U.S.

00:14:27.520 Attorney's Office brings charges in this case. So things are kind of rapidly developing still as the

00:14:32.580 investigation continues. I do know for certainty that there was no mass casualty event or plot or

00:14:40.940 terrorism act that was planned within the city of Dearborn or state of Michigan by anybody involved in

00:14:46.880 this investigation. Now, whether or not there's some perhaps online rhetoric or curiosity by these kids,

00:14:52.500 we're talking about guys that are, you know, 18 to 20 years old. So young adults and teenagers

00:14:58.400 that may have gone a little too far on the Internet in terms of their curiosity. But nobody is involved

00:15:05.480 in ISIS or Al Qaeda or terrorist organizations from this group of young men who were questioned

00:15:10.860 yesterday by the FBI. The comment about online rhetoric tracking with a report from the Associated

00:15:16.620 Press that the investigation involved discussions in an online chat room with some of the suspects.

00:15:22.720 An unnamed source briefed on the investigation telling the AP the group allegedly discussed

00:15:27.180 carrying out an attack on, quote, Pumpkin Day, an apparent reference to Halloween. Deputy FBI

00:15:33.840 Director Dan Bongino posting on X, writing, quote, Protecting the homeland is our top priority. We will not rest.

00:15:43.440 And a terrifying situation in the U.K. Saturday night. Eleven people stabbed on a London-bound train in

00:15:50.120 Huntington, which is about an hour away from the British capital. Yes, another horrifying stabbing in the U.K.

00:15:57.180 Mad men determined to kill will do so with or without a gun quite clearly. British transport 0.52

00:16:04.220 police at first initiating, quote, Plato, the national code word for a terror attack, but later

00:16:09.760 announcing, quote, at this stage, there is nothing to suggest this is a terrorist incident. Police saying

00:16:15.300 the suspect is black. He is 32 years old, a British national who was born in the U.K. He remains in

00:16:22.180 police custody on suspicion of attempted murder. Initially, a 35-year-old man was also arrested,

00:16:28.220 but police released him after determining he was not involved. Deputy Chief Constable Stuart Cundy

00:16:33.960 saying, quote, Our investigation is moving at pace and we are confident we are not looking for anyone

00:16:38.960 else in connection to the incident. Authorities have yet to release a motive. Footage obtained by the Daily

00:16:45.060 Mail showing passengers screaming on a train platform. A man by himself dressed in all black

00:16:50.680 with a knife is seen calmly walking. The Daily Mail reporting the attacker saying, quote,

00:16:56.620 The devil's not going to win as he approached his victims. Of the 11 wounded, six remained

00:17:02.840 hospitalized on Sunday, including a London Northeastern railway employee in life-threatening

00:17:08.840 condition. The British Transport Police lauding the employee's courage, saying he stopped the incident

00:17:14.420 from being far worse, quote, Detectives have reviewed the CCTV from the train and it is clear his

00:17:20.420 actions were nothing short of heroic and undoubtedly saved many people's lives. British Prime Minister

00:17:26.940 Keir Starmer calling the stabbing, quote, appalling, writing on social media, quote, My thoughts are with

00:17:32.440 all those affected and my thanks go to the emergency services for their response. We will have more on

00:17:38.480 this today on The Megyn Kelly Show. And that'll do it for your AM update. I'm Megyn Kelly. Join me back
