00:12:14.700 An Ithaca, New York district attorney reopening a 2024 investigation

00:12:19.120 into an alleged gang rape at a Cornell University fraternity house.

00:12:23.540 The decision follows a civil lawsuit filed this month by a former student

00:12:27.700 identified as Jane Doe, who was 20 years old at the time of the alleged incident.

00:12:33.360 Doe filing the civil suit in New York County Supreme in Manhattan, suing Cornell, seven

00:12:38.680 members of its Chi-Fi fraternity, the overarching fraternity and her own sorority organizations,

00:12:44.980 and other parties over what she alleges happened in October 2024. She is seeking unspecified

00:12:50.920 compensatory and punitive damages. Doe alleging she went to the Chi-Fi house to see a friend

00:12:56.120 after drinking at two bars. She alleges she was already visibly intoxicated when she arrived

00:15:37.400 me to understand how a thorough criminal investigation could have been conducted.
