00:00:08.340 AM update. How's your relationship with Eric? Are you guys still friends? Eric who? Is that clear?
00:00:16.240 Don't bust the trust. The FBI raiding the Beverly Hills mansion of a former Eric Swalwell benefactor
00:00:22.940 as new reporting links the investigation to a sex worker. Voting data shows that registered
00:00:28.980 Democrats have an enthusiasm advantage, at least in terms of turnout so far.
00:00:34.060 New early voting numbers reinforcing Democrats' midterm advantage as election forecasters shift
00:00:39.860 dozens of congressional races in their favor just days before Election Day. Israeli Prime
00:00:45.540 Minister Benjamin Netanyahu facing one of the biggest political challenges of his nearly two
00:00:50.140 decades in power as voters decide whether to keep him in office or usher in new leadership.
00:00:55.780 and a new study revealing new details
00:00:58.260 about how microplastics may be damaging our bodies.
00:01:01.700 All that and more coming up in just a moment
00:01:03.560 on your AM Update.

00:01:23.200 that they file with the county
00:01:24.620 transferring your home into their name and then use your ownership to take out loans or sell it

00:02:20.460 to get peace of mind today. The FBI raiding a Beverly Hills mansion Tuesday as part of an
00:02:28.360 expanding criminal investigation into former Democrat Congressman Eric Swalwell. The raid
00:02:34.160 coming six months after sexual misconduct allegations forced Swalwell out of Congress
00:02:39.040 and ended his campaign for California governor. The feds executing a search warrant around 6 a.m.
00:02:45.360 at the home of billionaire businessman Stephen Klubeck,
00:02:48.560 a longtime political supporter of Swalwell,
00:02:51.000 who previously allowed the former congressman
00:02:52.960 to stay at his estate.
00:02:54.960 Klubeck, the founder of Diamond Resorts,
00:02:57.820 briefly running for California governor himself
00:02:59.900 before withdrawing from the race last November
00:03:02.120 and endorsing Swalwell.
00:03:04.380 The billionaire going on to provide
00:03:05.880 more than a million dollars in financial support
00:03:08.060 for Swalwell's gubernatorial campaign,
00:03:10.420 then abruptly severing ties with the former congressman
00:03:13.160 as the sexual misconduct allegations surfaced in April.
00:03:17.560 Klubeck also claiming he kicked Swalwell out of the Beverly Hills mansion,
00:03:21.700 accusing his former political ally of lying to him about his past behavior.
00:03:26.620 Klubeck in April telling Fox 11 Los Angeles his friendship with Swalwell was over
00:03:31.460 in a colorful exchange.
00:03:33.900 Your initial reaction to everything that's happened since Friday?
00:03:37.640 Look, I live in the world of telling the truth.
00:03:41.340 and i'm disappointed i'm shocked i'm beyond disappointed beyond disappointed you know
00:03:48.020 we expect people in in congress uh and in our political world to um tell the truth
00:03:56.180 and you know our people before we endorsed him asked him numerous times numerous times
00:04:03.880 is there anything we need to know he lied to us how's your relationship with eric are you guys
00:04:10.700 still friends? Eric who? Is that clear? Don't bust the trust. You bust the trust, okay? You don't
00:04:20.100 exist in my life. I'm so disappointed in the Democrats. I am now a Republican. Fox News
00:04:27.980 reporting that at least two dozen agents participated in yesterday's raid, searching
00:04:32.560 the property for several hours. Several people reportedly placed in handcuffs before being
00:04:37.220 released, though Klubeck was not home at the time. The FBI confirming the search is part of an
00:04:42.460 ongoing criminal investigation declining to disclose what agents were looking for.
00:04:47.180 The New York Post reporting that a senior law enforcement official linked the raid to a sex
00:04:51.960 worker, though the nature of that connection remains unclear. Reuters also reporting that
00:04:57.160 agents were searching for electronic devices and records related to prostitution. The search,
00:05:02.400 marking another significant development in the federal investigation of Swalwell.
00:05:07.040 In August, FBI agents seizing his cell phone and laptop at San Francisco International Airport
00:05:12.660 and searching his D.C. home.
00:05:15.400 Separate investigations also underway in New York and California
00:05:18.860 over multiple allegations of sexual assault and misconduct against Swalwell.
00:05:24.720 Swalwell denying the allegations and no criminal charges have been filed against him.
00:05:29.340 Election Day now just six days away as new early voting figures reveal a significant
00:05:36.840 Democrat enthusiasm advantage as election forecasters shift dozens of congressional
00:05:41.660 races toward the Dems. The Cook Political Report shifting 19 House races toward Democrats in its
00:05:48.100 latest forecast Friday, including six contests moving from toss-up to lean Democrat. Under its
00:05:54.780 updated ratings, Democrats now holding an advantage in 220 House districts, two more than
00:06:00.640 the 218 needed for a majority. Cook projecting Democrats could gain between 12 and 22 seats this
00:06:07.880 November. In the Senate, Cook rating seven races as toss-ups, including Republican-held seats in
00:06:14.260 Texas, Iowa, Kansas, Ohio, Maine, and Alaska. The forecaster estimating Democrats could pick up
00:06:20.660 between two to six Senate seats,
00:06:23.700 potentially enough to flip control of the chamber.
00:06:26.440 Cook also shifting two governor races
00:06:28.340 in the Democrats' direction,
00:06:30.120 in Kansas to a toss-up,
00:06:32.020 and Nebraska to lean Republican
00:06:34.520 away from likely Republican.
00:06:37.300 On prediction market Kalshi,
00:06:39.000 traders driving Democrats up to a roughly 65% chance
00:06:42.080 of winning control of the Senate
00:06:43.340 compared to 35% for Republicans.
00:06:46.340 Just last month, Republicans had a 52% chance
00:06:49.080 of keeping the Senate on Kalshi.
00:06:50.660 In the House, Dems have a 91% chance to take power from the GOP.
00:06:56.520 Our sponsor, Kalshi, reflects what traders actually believe.
00:06:59.840 It's real-time odds on the midterm elections.

00:07:11.200 Across the country, more than 33 million Americans have already cast their ballots nationwide.
00:07:16.440 According to data compiled by the University of Florida,
00:07:19.460 registered Dems accounting for roughly 45% of early ballots in states reporting party affiliation,
00:07:25.800 compared to about 30% for Republicans. The figures also reveal Democrats and independent voters
00:07:31.560 generally turning out at a faster pace than during the 2022 midterms, while Republicans
00:07:37.020 are lagging behind their previous numbers in some states. In North Carolina, where former
00:07:41.940 Democrat Governor Roy Cooper is facing former Republican National Committee Chairman Michael
00:07:46.340 Whatley for an open Senate seat, the early voting gap particularly pronounced.
00:07:52.100 Democrat participation increasing sharply compared to the same point in 2022
00:07:56.060 as CNN correspondent Diane Gallagher breaks down the numbers.
00:08:00.700 Robust early voter turnout so far here in North Carolina. More than 1.2 million ballots
00:08:06.660 cast in just eight days of early in-person voting. Early voting data shows that registered Democrats
00:08:13.040 have an enthusiasm advantage, at least in terms of turnout so far.
00:08:17.540 Unaffiliated voters, the largest group in North Carolina,
00:08:20.660 also have increased turnout at this point,
00:08:22.680 but registered Republicans are down from where they were at this point in 2022 and 2024.
00:08:28.900 Democrats have passed nearly twice the number of ballots as Republicans right now.
00:08:33.680 GOP sources, though, tell me they believe they can close that gap by Election Day.
00:08:37.940 Republicans maintain that the early voting figures do not tell the whole story,
00:08:41.780 arguing that their voters traditionally prefer to cast ballots on Election Day.
00:08:46.640 House Speaker Mike Johnson Monday on Fox News pushing back on the narrative of a Democrat enthusiasm advantage.
00:08:52.520 The polls are grossly underestimating Republican enthusiasm around the country.
00:08:57.580 We've been from coast to coast, and I'm telling you, the polling is inaccurate.
00:09:01.640 The American people understand this is a contrast election.
00:09:04.000 We do not want to go back to crazy.
00:09:06.420 CNN ran a story about a week ago, and they said that at 14 out of the last 16 elections,
00:09:12.360 the October generic ballot underestimated Republicans by an average of four points.
00:09:16.820 Laura, I think it's even further off this time because more and more Republicans are unwilling to participate in these surveys.
00:09:25.960 Coming up, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fighting to hold on to power in Israel
00:09:30.380 as a closely contested election threatens to end his nearly two decades of leadership.
00:09:35.660 and a new study raising fresh concerns about the dangers of microplastics,
00:09:40.600 revealing how the tiny particles may trigger harmful chemical reactions inside the human body.
00:09:45.860 Great.
00:09:53.380 You might already own a firearm, but what if you could start with less lethal methods
00:09:58.060 to avoid the financial and mental repercussions of pulling the trigger?
00:10:02.400 This is where Burna comes in.
00:10:04.000 That's B-Y-R-N-A. 0.64

00:10:14.560 And Burna is excited to introduce the all-new compact launcher.
00:10:18.120 It's sleek, it's slim, and it hits like a sledgehammer.

00:11:00.680 israelis voting yesterday in the country's first national election since the october 7th
00:11:08.320 2023 hamas attacks as prime minister benjamin netanyahu faces an uncertain political future
00:11:14.260 following one of the biggest political challenges of his career exit polls showing no clear winner
00:11:20.300 as neither netanyahu nor his leading challenger former military chief gadi eisenkot appears to
00:11:27.040 have enough support to form a governing coalition. Israel's Channel 12 projecting Netanyahu's Likud
00:11:33.400 party to win 24 seats in parliament, compared to 22 for Eisenkot's Yashar party as of last night.
00:11:41.100 Both parties would team up with others to try to reach the 61 seats needed for a majority. However,
00:11:46.720 each party projected to fall short as of last night. Arab parties also projected to win a record
00:11:52.480 18 seats, potentially giving them significant influence over negotiations to form the next
00:11:57.700 government. Voter turnout reaching its highest level since 1999, according to CNN. Netanyahu
00:12:04.200 is Israel's longest-serving prime minister, leading the country for nearly 19 of the past 30 years,
00:12:10.440 his leadership coming under intense scrutiny following the 10-7 attacks, as political
00:12:15.380 opponents accuse his government of ignoring intelligence warnings and mishandling the
00:12:20.300 military response. Netanyahu's office denying that he received advance warnings of the attacks,
00:12:26.120 rejecting allegations that he failed to act on intelligence. The prime minister also facing an
00:12:31.640 ongoing corruption trial involving charges of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust. Netanyahu
00:12:37.060 denying the allegations, describing the prosecution as politically motivated. His leading challenger,
00:12:42.420 Eisencott, bringing decades of military experience to the race. The former Israeli military chief of
00:12:47.960 Staff rising through the ranks of the Israel Defense Forces, eventually leading the country's
00:12:52.540 military from 2015 to 2019.
00:12:55.660 Eisenkot experiencing personal tragedy during the war in Gaza.
00:12:59.440 His 25-year-old son, Gal, killed while serving in the Israeli military in December 2023.
00:13:05.640 Now leading the Yashar Party, Eisenkot campaigning on a promise of new leadership and greater
00:13:11.340 accountability, calling for an independent investigation into the government's handling
00:13:15.740 of the 10-7 attacks.
00:13:17.960 Despite their political rivalry, the two men sharing several major positions on national
00:13:22.280 security both opposed the establishment of a Palestinian state. Israel's complicated
00:13:28.100 electoral system means the next prime minister may not be determined for weeks. Voters choosing
00:13:33.740 political parties rather than individual candidates as seats in the country's 120-member
00:13:39.180 parliament are divided according to each party's share of the national vote. No single party has
00:13:45.300 ever won an outright majority in Israel's history, making coalitions necessary to secure the 61 seats
00:13:51.520 needed to govern. Once the final results are announced, Israeli President Isaac Herzog
00:13:57.080 will select a lawmaker he believes has the best chance of forming a government,
00:14:01.740 not necessarily the leader of the largest party. That process potentially requiring
00:14:06.480 weeks of negotiations. If those efforts fail, Israel could face another election.
00:14:11.940 The country holding five national elections between 2019 and 2022, a period of political
00:14:18.380 gridlock that ultimately ended with Netanyahu returning to power.
00:14:23.840 A new study revealing how tiny pieces of plastic, or microplastics, may be damaging the human
00:14:30.500 body. Researchers from Columbia University and the University of California, Berkeley,
00:14:36.280 discovering that microplastics can trigger chemical reactions simply by coming into
00:14:40.780 contact with water, potentially explaining their links to serious health problems.
00:14:46.080 The findings published earlier this month in the scientific journal Nature,
00:14:49.880 raising new concerns about the microscopic plastic particles already detected in
00:14:53.880 human blood, organs, and other tissues. For decades, scientists largely considered plastic
00:15:00.140 chemically inactive, meaning it could remain in contact with food, water, and the human body
00:15:05.260 without producing significant chemical reactions. The new research challenges that assumption,
00:15:10.780 revealing that when microplastics interact with water, they can generate highly reactive
00:15:15.800 molecules known as free radicals. Fox News medical contributor Dr. Mark Siegel
00:15:21.080 explaining why the findings are so concerning. It's called reactive oxygen species. When the
00:15:27.460 microplastics come in contact with water, simple water inside the body, they change and they start
00:15:34.860 to affect your DNA. They increase your risk of mutations. They disrupt cellular function. That's
00:15:40.260 what the study is showing. So we already knew they were bad, but we thought, well, maybe they're just
00:15:45.120 sitting there. We know you have a teaspoon full and everyone has in their brain. What's it doing
00:15:49.220 there? Contact with water is changing it to where it becomes oxidative stress and impacts both the
00:15:58.420 cells and the DNA in the cells. That is really scary stuff. I love to be reassuring. In this
00:16:04.940 case, I have to tell you, I'm concerned about microplastics. Researchers previously identifying
00:16:10.880 associations between microplastic exposure and conditions, including cardiovascular disease,
00:16:17.020 with animal studies also raising concerns about neurological damage. Until now, however,
00:16:22.260 scientists have struggled to explain exactly how those particles might contribute to disease,
00:16:27.540 the new findings offering a possible answer. To investigate, researchers examined several
00:16:32.840 common plastics, including materials used in styrofoam containers and plastic water bottles.
00:16:39.040 They discovered that as plastic breaks down into increasingly smaller particles,
00:16:43.660 more of its surface becomes exposed to the surrounding water, creating additional
00:16:48.660 opportunities for chemical reactions. In one experiment, scientists combined microplastics
00:16:54.260 with water in a colored dye designed to break down when exposed to reactive chemicals.
00:16:59.820 Over 10 days, the dye gradually disappeared, demonstrating the chemical activity taking
00:17:05.000 place.
00:17:06.200 Because the human body is largely made up of water, researchers are concerned that microplastics
00:17:11.600 accumulating in tissues could contribute to prolonged inflammation and cellular damage.
00:17:17.840 Are you stressed out yet?
00:17:19.220 Same.
00:17:19.900 However, the study does not establish that these reactions cause specific diseases in
00:17:24.920 humans.
00:17:25.800 Researchers cautioning that further studies are needed to determine whether the same effects occur outside the lab.
00:17:31.920 In the meantime, Dr. Siegel offering some simple ways to reduce exposure.
00:17:36.580 Well, I think whole foods is part of the solution.
00:17:39.200 I think farm-to-table is better than processed foods and ultra-processed foods.
00:17:44.240 I just dissed bottled water, but if you use the glass bottles, I think it's better.
00:17:49.380 There's some near the cap, but not as much with the plastics.
00:17:52.680 If you're using the plastic water bottles, if they're not heated up, there's less of them.
00:17:57.280 So if you keep it cold, it's better for you.
00:17:59.760 These seem like small matters, but they matter over time as they build up.
00:18:04.680 Natural foods, whole foods, organic foods, glass bottles, glass water bottles, and don't heat up what you're about to drink.
00:18:14.000 Microwaving, you know, look, I'm not going to diss that, but it does increase microplastics.
00:18:18.420 Many also believe sauna can help cleanse some microplastics from your system.
00:18:26.520 And that'll do it for your AM update. I'm Megan Kelly. Join me back here for The MK Show,
