00:05:13.360 there were three required requested indictments. The grand jury returned two of those three

00:05:19.040 indictments. So I think they showed they were judicious. I think that it showed clearly that

00:05:23.680 there were a couple of things that James Comey did wrong. Comey's arraignment is set for October

00:05:28.580 9th. He faces one count of making false statements to Congress and one count of obstruction of an

00:05:34.380 investigative proceeding. Each carries a maximum of five years in prison. Mr. Comey maintains his

00:05:40.640 innocence. Ten people shot, at least four killed Sunday morning when a gunman rammed a vehicle

00:05:48.580 through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blank, Michigan, before opening

00:05:53.680 fire on the congregation. The suspect identified as a 40-year-old man from nearby Burton, Michigan,

00:06:00.480 a military veteran, according to reports based on his social media accounts, killed by police in a

00:06:06.700 shootout. The FBI is now leading the investigation, calling it an act of targeted violence, though

00:06:12.760 special agent in charge Reuben Coleman did not offer more specifics at a press briefing last night.

00:07:55.760 shooting. The suspect is dead, but there is still a lot to learn. This appears to be yet another targeted

00:11:23.860 emergency press conference on Saturday, Mayor Wilson saying his city is peaceful.

00:11:28.540 The number of necessary troops is zero in Portland and any other American city. And let me repeat that.

00:11:35.760 This is an American city. We do not need any intervention. This is not a military target.

00:12:15.360 want to happen here today. In a Sunday morning phone interview with NBC, Mr. Trump saying, quote,

00:12:21.360 I spoke to the governor. She was very nice. But I said, well, wait a minute. Am I watching things on

00:12:27.020 television that are different from what's happening? My people tell me different. They are literally

00:12:31.440 attacking and there are fires all over the place. It looks terrible. Multiple news organizations

00:12:37.000 reporting on daily protesting activity outside of an ICE detention facility since June. At times,

00:12:43.580 those protests, indeed, turning violent. The Oregonian reporting in June, several people used

00:12:49.220 a stop sign as a makeshift battering ram, shattering the front door of the building. CBS 13 News reporting

00:12:56.220 some federal agents have been injured in recent protests, resulting in several protesters being charged

00:13:01.760 with assault. According to KTVB7, more than two dozen people have been arrested protesting Portland's

00:13:09.060 ICE facility. The exterior of that facility has been boarded up since June. Protesters spray painting

00:13:15.660 epithets and threats like Nazis and shoot ice pigs all over the building. On Sunday, video emerging

00:13:23.100 appearing to show some seven or so Portland cops retreating in the face of hundreds of protesters who

00:13:30.280 outnumbered them. The cops walking backward and then biking away. The protesters holding signs that read

00:13:36.600 F ICE, ICE equals terror, and obeying Trump makes you a war criminal. Police with riot gear backed up by

00:13:45.060 federal agents are seen in other video pushing back the protesters. As the state attorney general's

00:13:51.260 motion for a temporary restraining order was just filed, a court date for the hearing has not yet been set.

00:14:00.280 New York City Mayor Eric Adams dropping his re-election bid on Sunday. The decision announced

00:14:05.240 in a nearly nine-minute-long video posted to social media, largely focusing on his achievements in life

00:14:11.580 and as mayor and blaming the media. Despite all we've achieved, I cannot continue my re-election

00:14:19.560 campaign. The constant media speculation about my future and the campaign finance board's decision

00:14:27.340 to withhold millions of dollars have undermined my ability to raise the funds needed for a serious

00:14:35.340 campaign. In August, New York City's campaign finance board denying Mayor Adams' request for

00:14:42.100 millions in matching funds for the 10th time, citing paperwork errors as well as allegations linked to

00:14:48.340 the federal bribery case against Adams that was ultimately dismissed by the Trump DOJ.

00:14:53.340 Mayor Adams' name will remain on the ballot because the deadline to remove it passed in May.

00:14:59.820 Recent polls showing Adams hovering around 8 percent, trailing behind Democratic Socialist

00:15:17.580 Cuomo in the Real Clear Politics polling average. Polling indicates a much tighter race and a hypothetical

00:15:23.140 head-to-head matchup between Cuomo and Mamdani. However, the Curtis Sliwa campaign indicating the

00:15:29.140 candidate has no plans to drop out. Adams did not endorse Cuomo, though in his social media post,

00:15:35.660 he did take a swipe at Mamdani.

00:15:37.620 Too often, insidious forces use local government to advance divisive agendas. With little regard for how it

00:15:46.740 hurts everyday New Yorkers, major change is welcome and necessary. But beware of those who claim the

00:16:24.760 Mamdani telling News 12 he expected Adams to drop out, saying New Yorkers are ready to, quote,

00:16:29.520 move on from big money and small ideas. According to Polymarket, Mamdani had an 87 percent chance to win

00:16:36.780 the race before Adams dropped out. He now sits at 84 percent. The election is just five weeks away.
