The Megyn Kelly Show - New Jersey ICE Facility Showdown, Trump's Controversial DNI Pick, Dr. Oz Talks TDS： AM Update 6⧸3

00:00:00.000 Good morning, everyone. I'm Megan Kelly. It's Wednesday, June 3, 2026, and this is your AM

00:00:08.340 Update. I went into that facility. I went to the medical. I went to outdoor recreation,

00:00:13.520 indoor recreation. The food was good. It's all a false premise. The state of New Jersey

00:00:19.320 suing the private operator of Newark's illegal immigrant detention center as border czar

00:00:25.160 Tom Homan disputes claims of inhumane conditions. He knows nothing about intelligence, but what he

00:00:31.740 has is the number one qualification. He's totally devoted to Donald Trump and will do whatever it

00:00:38.220 is Trump wants. President Trump making a surprise pick to replace outgoing director of national

00:00:43.800 intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, drawing heavy criticism over his lack of national intelligence experience.

00:00:50.140 New reporting suggesting a massive Pentagon loan to a company linked to Donald Trump Jr.

00:00:56.340 may have originated inside the White House.

00:00:59.220 I am concerned about folks who have focused their entire life energy on dislike of the 1.00

00:01:04.720 president, but, you know, treating stupid is really hard. 0.99

00:01:08.540 And Dr. Mehmet Oz stepping behind the White House lectern to take questions from reporters, 1.00

00:01:14.040 including about the severe medical illness known as TDS.

00:01:18.460 All that and more coming up in just a moment on your AM update.

00:02:35.920 The illegal immigration showdown in New Jersey expanding after nearly two weeks of protests

00:02:43.700 outside an ICE facility. The state of New Jersey filing a lawsuit against the GEO Group, Inc.,

00:02:49.500 the private operator of the Delaney Hall Federal Immigration Detention Facility in Newark.

00:02:55.000 The suit filed yesterday in state court in Essex County, where Newark is located,

00:02:59.640 the complaint asking the court to order GEO to provide the New Jersey Department of Health

00:03:04.060 full access to the facility amid allegations of inhumane conditions, which state officials

00:03:10.400 claim are well-documented. The commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Health,

00:03:15.360 listed as the named plaintiff in the case, the complaint citing a state law that declares the

00:03:20.140 commissioner, quote, shall have full access to any premises for the purpose of examination if

00:03:26.240 he has reason to believe that on the premises there exists a violation of any health law of

00:03:31.320 the state or any provision of the state sanitary code. Democratic Governor of New Jersey Mikey

00:03:37.320 Sherrill writing in a statement, quote, if the GEO group with a $1 billion government contract

00:03:42.920 has nothing to hide, and if the conditions inside Delaney Hall are as safe and as sanitary as this

00:03:49.060 private corporation and the Trump administration claim, then there's no legitimate reason why my

00:03:54.100 health inspectors are being kept from full access throughout the building. The move coming after a

00:03:59.800 chaotic Memorial Day weekend where reports of detainee hunger and labor strikes led to clashes

00:04:05.220 outside and a reported 21 arrests with agitators outside the facility. One of the anti-ice

00:04:12.000 protesters arrested after allegedly biting and kicking ice officers during the demonstrations,

00:04:17.720 causing serious injury. Newark City leaders reporting they've also been blocked from

00:04:22.620 thorough inspections, with state health officials limited to food service areas during a recent

00:04:27.480 visit. Newark Mayor Raz Baraka saying the goal is clear. Our objective is to close the building,

00:04:35.100 right? And the people that have the greatest ability to close the building is the GEO Group.

00:04:40.320 That's a private organization. They have a contract with the government, with HSI, to

00:04:45.260 house detainees. This was a halfway house prior to what it is today. The Department of Homeland

00:04:52.160 Security and Geo Group denying the allegations, saying detainees receive certified meals,

00:04:57.720 medical care, and meet federal standards. DHS calling the facility well-run, saying specific

00:05:03.300 claims of mistreatment have not been substantiated. Border czar Tom Homan telling Sean Hannity Monday

00:05:09.180 night that he has personally inspected the facility. I went into that facility. I went

00:05:14.980 to the medical. I went to outdoor recreation, indoor recreation. I even made a surprise visit

00:05:20.000 this weekend and walked into the cafeteria and ate the same meal that the detainees around me

00:05:25.760 were eating, and I made sure my tray equaled their tray. I had spaghetti and meat sauce. I had beans.

00:05:31.760 I had green beans. I had bread and rolls. I had drinks. I had dessert. The food was good.

00:05:39.580 It's all a false premise. There was never a hunger strike. The congressman said,

00:05:44.020 oh, people are on hunger strike. No, they weren't. They may not be eating in the cafeteria,

00:05:47.480 But what I found out, they're ordering food from the commissary, eating in their cells.

00:05:52.300 Holman saying there will be no change there, despite the backlash.

00:05:56.140 That facility isn't going anywhere.

00:05:58.680 We're going to enforce the law.

00:06:00.340 We're going to detain people and remove people.

00:06:02.220 Matter of fact, a lot of people in that facility, we couldn't release because they're

00:06:05.640 mandatorily detained by federal statute.

00:06:09.000 So we couldn't release them if we even wanted to.

00:06:11.220 But we're not going to release any of them.

00:06:12.640 Everybody in that facility I have ascertained is legally being detained.

00:06:16.980 legally being detained. Many of them, again, mandatory detention, many of them criminals.

00:06:23.260 President Trump announcing he has tapped Federal Housing Finance Agency director Bill Pulte as

00:06:29.260 acting director of national intelligence, replacing the outgoing current DNI, Tulsi Gabbard.

00:06:35.980 In a Truth Social post yesterday, the president praising Pulte's non-traditional experience,

00:06:40.920 writing, quote,

00:06:41.480 William has deep experience managing the most sensitive matters in America,

00:06:45.880 the safety and soundness of the markets, and over $10 trillion at Fannie Mae Freddie Mac,

00:06:51.720 a substantial increase from where it was just 12 months ago.

00:06:55.700 Pulte making headlines in the past for going after the president's political foes,

00:06:59.940 including criminal referrals relating to mortgage fraud against New York State Attorney General

00:07:05.480 Letitia James, Democratic Senator Adam Schiff, disgraced former U.S. Congressman Eric Swalwell

00:07:11.740 and Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook.

00:07:14.740 Pulte also reportedly nearly coming to blows

00:07:17.040 with Treasury Secretary Scott Besant this past September.

00:07:20.400 Politico reporting Besant threatened to punch Pulte

00:07:23.220 in his effing face after getting word 0.85

00:07:25.940 that Pulte spoke poorly about him to the president.

00:07:29.760 The White House declining to comment on that report.

00:07:32.820 Pulte is a businessman with lengthy experience

00:07:35.300 in private equity and the grandson

00:07:37.320 of a prominent real estate developer.

00:07:39.940 Critics were quick to point out

00:07:41.160 he has no national security experience and is now entering perhaps the most important national

00:07:47.320 security post there is. Here, Democratic U.S. Senators Mark Warner of Virginia, Peter Welsh

00:07:52.980 of Vermont, and Adam Schiff of California. What do we know about Bill Pulte? One, he knows

00:07:57.940 absolutely nothing about intelligence. Second, this guy currently serves as the director of

00:08:04.880 federal housing programs. And what we've seen there is Pulte's complete willingness to manipulate

00:08:10.520 facts, put out disinformation, and basically do whatever Donald Trump wants. He knows nothing

00:08:17.280 about intelligence, but what he has is the number one qualification. He's totally devoted to Donald

00:08:24.300 Trump and will do whatever it is Trump wants. We need a DNI who is experienced and knowledgeable,

00:08:31.540 respected, but Pulte is none of these things. Republican leaders not exactly jumping to

00:08:36.820 Pulte's defense yesterday. Here, Senate Majority Leader John Thune and Republican Senator Tom

00:08:42.020 Cotton. Do you think that Bill Pulte has the experience to be the active DNI and same with

00:08:48.280 Senator Cotton as the chairman of the Intelligence Committee? Is he the kind of person you want

00:08:52.520 leading the Intelligence Committee? I'll defer to the chairman on that. We was made aware of

00:08:57.680 that appointment this morning. Obviously, it's something that if the administration decides to

00:09:03.880 pursue a permanent appointment to that position, have to come through the Congress and have

00:09:08.280 confirmation hearings and ultimately a vote here in the Senate.

00:09:11.500 But Senator Cotton, you want to speak to that?

00:09:13.440 We have four more weeks with Director Gabbard as the DNI, and I look forward to implementing

00:09:18.700 last year's Intelligence Authorization Act with her to implement wide-ranging reforms

00:09:23.080 that will shrink the DNI and take it back to its original intent to provide a mere coordinator

00:09:28.940 or process role for the intelligence community.

00:09:31.640 I have no observations on the matter.

00:09:35.360 The White House has not yet indicated when it will nominate a permanent successor.

00:09:39.860 Pulte will need Senate confirmation if officially nominated for the post.

00:09:44.280 Gabbard's last day as DNI is June 30th, the outgoing DNI citing her husband's recent

00:09:49.800 bone cancer diagnosis as her reason for stepping down.

00:09:55.200 Coming up, new reporting shining a spotlight on a massive Pentagon loan

00:09:59.800 that went to a company tied to the president's son. And Dr. Mehmet Oz filling in for Press

00:10:05.980 Secretary Caroline Levitt behind the White House briefing room lectern addressing Trump Rx and TDS.

00:10:19.880 Think about this. In 2006, 20,000 bucks equaled roughly 33 ounces of gold at spot price.

00:10:27.300 At today's prices, those 33 ounces would be worth about $165,000.

00:10:34.420 Smart Americans should consider diversifying a portion of their savings into precious metals.

00:10:39.460 So let me tell you about Birch Gold Group.

00:10:41.300 For thousands of years, gold has been a store of wealth.

00:11:18.320 A new investigation by ProPublica bringing to light news that the White House asked the Pentagon

00:11:24.140 to give a massive loan to a small North Carolina-based startup that has ties to

00:11:29.320 President Donald Trump's oldest son. In August 2025, Donald Trump Jr.'s venture capital firm,

00:11:35.260 1789 Capital, taking an undisclosed stake in Vulcan Elements, a then two-year-old rare-earth

00:11:42.600 magnet company with less than 50 employees. Three months later, the Pentagon's Office of

00:11:48.660 Strategic Capital, or OSC, announcing a $620 million loan to Vulcan, raising the company's

00:11:55.880 valuation tenfold, from roughly $200 million to nearly $2 billion, according to Bloomberg.

00:12:01.920 At the time, representatives for the Pentagon, Vulcan, and Trump Jr., denying any impropriety,

00:12:07.340 and until last week, there was zero evidence suggesting political interference. But Pro

00:12:12.880 Publica's interviews with Pentagon officials and reviews of Department of War documents

00:12:17.180 tell a different story. According to the outlet, sources and records showing the request to loan

00:12:22.800 hundreds of millions of dollars to the firm, linked to Trump Jr., was made by Peter Navarro,

00:12:28.580 a White House advisor to President Trump and a friend of Trump Jr. ProPublica reporter Robert

00:12:34.720 Fadarecci explaining what he uncovered about Navarro's involvement in the Vulcan deal on NPR.

00:12:40.820 I know that you reached out to both the White House and Peter Navarro, the White House advisor,

00:12:45.800 about all of this, what did they tell you? So they denied that Don Jr. played any role in this

00:12:53.780 deal, that there was any political favoritism. They say that this was an entirely merit-based

00:12:59.900 process. But what our reporting found is that when the call came in from the White House,

00:13:08.160 Pentagon staff were asked to move at an unusually rapid speed. The staff were working late nights

00:13:14.680 with little sleep to get this loan done in a matter of weeks, which for the Office of Strategic

00:13:20.780 Capital is quite fast. Usually these deals are deliberated for months. The quote from one of the

00:13:28.220 people involved that I spoke to was, the call came from the White House, we have to get this done.

00:13:35.160 That White House call reportedly coming from Navarro. According to a Pentagon official,

00:13:39.720 of the dozens of companies being considered for funding at the time,

00:13:43.840 Vulcan was the only deal initiated by a top aide to the president.

00:13:48.320 Navarro did not respond to questions from ProPublica on the reporting,

00:13:51.820 but Trump Jr.'s spokesperson telling the outlet the president's son does not discuss

00:13:56.200 companies he has invested in with federal government officials and did not speak to

00:14:00.780 Navarro about Vulcan. However, a month before the loan was announced, Trump Jr. hosting Navarro

00:14:07.180 on his Triggered podcast, where the two spoke about rare earths without mentioning Vulcan.

00:14:12.520 China has revealed itself with this rare earth issue as a country which is using the weaponization 0.71

00:14:23.800 of their manufacturing floor, their supply chains to exert pressure, not just on the United States, 0.81

00:14:32.660 but to every other country that might do something that gets in the way of the Chinese dream

00:14:40.460 of world domination. That's what we're fighting now. 0.79

00:14:45.260 A defense official involved in the deal telling ProPublica that the October 2025 interview

00:14:50.680 happened shortly after word came down from Navarro to Pentagon staff to make the massive loan to

00:14:56.720 Vulcan. Vulcan, which specializes in producing the rare-earth magnets needed for critical

00:15:02.260 military technologies, including drones and satellites, saying it would use the funds to

00:15:07.360 build a large new facility that would make thousands of tons of magnets a year. ProPublica

00:15:13.180 noting the Pentagon was also accused of cronyism last year when it awarded a Florida drone parts

00:15:18.660 maker, on which Trump Jr. is an advisory board member, with a contract to make drone engines

00:15:24.440 for the Army. Still, reporter Faderecci telling NPR Navarro's reported involvement in the Vulcan

00:15:30.900 loan is unique. So there have been other benefits and other contracts that have gone to firms that

00:15:40.460 Trump family members either own a stake in or have a role in. This was actually the first

00:15:46.460 instance of a contract given out by a federal agency that was traced back to the White House

00:15:53.040 itself. The Pentagon, meanwhile, denying the allegations with a spokesperson telling

00:15:57.740 ProPublica, quote, no company receives preferential treatment. Outside affiliations,

00:16:03.400 investors or political connections play absolutely no role in the department's funding decisions.

00:16:10.440 Dr. Mehmet Oz, U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator,

00:16:16.040 leading the White House press briefing yesterday, becoming the latest member of the Trump

00:16:19.900 administration to step behind the lectern while Press Secretary Caroline Levitt is out on maternity

00:16:25.620 leave. The CMS administrator announcing a crackdown on federal spending for health care for illegal

00:16:31.260 immigrants while imposing new work requirements for able-bodied Medicaid recipients. Dr. Oz also

00:16:37.700 making a major announcement regarding Trump-Rx and the growing availability of cheaper prescription

00:16:43.740 drugs for Americans. We are adding 160 more drugs to this site. Now, the site already has

00:16:50.840 700 or so or 600 or so drugs, so it's going to take it over 750 total. But that is an important

00:16:57.960 number for other reasons. It means that four out of five medications that are picked up by Americans

00:17:02.960 going into that same drugstore that I mentioned earlier now have the opportunity to double check

00:17:07.500 that the price they're getting in that drugstore, wherever they're buying it from, is the best price

00:17:11.820 out there. So it's a transparency site. The president's health also coming up during the

00:17:16.480 briefing following the fourth known checkup of Mr. Trump's second term last week. Dr. Oz hoping to

00:17:23.380 put that criticism to bed. I had the president on my show 10 years ago. He also presented records.

00:17:28.880 And at the time, I was stunned at how well he was doing because so many of these numbers naturally

00:17:34.460 over time will start going in the wrong direction. But if you look at these records, they're

00:17:38.300 spectacular. You know, his cholesterol, his blood pressure, all the numbers in excellent

00:17:42.220 parameters. His ability, and listen, I work with him frequently. Many of you get to see him almost

00:17:49.060 every day. That amount of energy and that amount of mental acuity does not exist in a vacuum. You

00:17:54.480 have to have a vessel to carry it. And the president has a unique ability to just keep going

00:17:59.340 at all hours of the day with remarkable strength. And in a light briefing moment, Dr. Oz answering

00:18:04.900 a reporter's question about a very specific medical ailment afflicting so many in that

00:18:11.280 very briefing room.

00:18:12.700 Do you have any medical advice for the Americans out there that are suffering from a very serious

00:18:16.940 ailment called Trump derangement syndrome?

00:18:19.400 I am concerned about folks who have focused their entire life energy on dislike of the
