00:02:01.880 New questions swirling following President Joe Biden's cancer diagnosis and what it may reveal
00:02:07.120 about his health while in office. The 82-year-old former president diagnosed with advanced prostate
00:02:13.100 cancer that has metastasized to the bone. The severity and late-stage nature of the disease
00:02:19.080 has stunned many, with medical experts pointing out that this type of cancer typically takes
00:02:24.060 years to develop. On Sunday night, urologist Dr. David Schusterman on NewsNation casting doubt on
00:02:31.440 the idea that this diagnosis came out of nowhere. Well, most likely he had prostate cancer for a long
00:02:37.960 time. Aggressive prostate cancer such as this at age 80 grows over a long period of time. I mean,
00:02:45.460 usually it takes, from the first diagnosis of prostate cancer to spread, would take five to
00:02:53.580 10 years. Even in the most aggressive form, it's just, to me, it seems very surprising that
00:03:01.920 it would, the first diagnosis would be a metastatic diagnosis. There's definitely evidence that he
00:03:08.840 probably knew about this for a while. Dr. Zeke Emanuel, a respected oncologist and one of the authors
00:03:13.940 of Obamacare, going further on Morning Joe. Very few people get diagnosed this advanced. About 7% of
00:03:20.640 all prostate cancer in the country gets diagnosed when you have a lesion that's in the bone. He did not
00:03:28.060 develop it in the last 100, 200 days. He had it while he was president. He probably had it at the
00:03:34.320 start of his presidency in 2021. Mr. Biden's personal office claims the cancer was only discovered last
00:03:43.340 week after doctors found a prostate nodule. They also claim in a statement that the cancer, quote,
00:03:49.280 appears to be hormone sensitive, which allows for effective management, end quote. Dr. David Samadhi,
00:03:56.060 a leading prostate cancer surgeon, telling the Megyn Kelly show on Monday, that timeline does not add
00:04:01.420 up. So you're saying that jumped out at you, the fact that they're stating, in their statement, they
00:04:07.620 say, the cancer appears to be hormone sensitive, which allows for effective management. You're saying
00:04:14.660 how would they know that this soon? Right, exactly. So if he was just a week ago, they had the prostate
00:04:21.960 nodule. Within a week, they did the biopsy and they got the disease. So very quickly, within all
00:04:27.840 one week, based on the story that they're telling, they've been able to do the staging part and find
00:04:32.860 out if the cancer is spread to the bone or not. But you have to give the injections and see if the
00:04:37.700 patient responds. We don't know what his PSA is. If the PSA starts to go down, then that's when you
00:04:43.440 know that he's hormonal sensitive. I don't know how they will be able to give all of this information
00:04:48.600 from diagnosis to treatment to all of that within one week. The story doesn't make any sense.
00:04:55.820 All of this comes as a new book hits shelves today, Original Sin, co-authored by Axios reporter
00:05:01.220 Alex Thompson and CNN's Jake Tapper, who will be on the Megyn Kelly show later today. The book details
00:05:07.000 efforts inside the Biden White House to conceal the president's cognitive decline while in office.
00:05:12.360 Those efforts included threatening or retaliating against reporters who dared to question the
00:05:17.260 president's mental fitness. No sooner did the news of cancer break on Sunday than some began arguing
00:05:23.180 questions about Mr. Biden's mental acuity should again now be set aside. Democratic strategist David
00:05:30.420 Axelrod, for one. Republican Meghan McCain, too, calling for discussions around Biden's health cover-up
00:05:36.600 and related books to stop to give peace to the Biden family. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries
00:05:43.080 also using the diagnosis to discourage further discussion of Mr. Biden's decline and of its
00:05:49.180 cover-up. Seems to me entirely inappropriate that at this moment in time, when President Biden is
00:05:54.960 dealing with a serious and aggressive form of cancer, there are Republicans who are peddling conspiracy
00:06:01.520 theories and want us to look backward. And Republicans want to fan the flames of conspiracy theories at this
00:06:08.900 moment. No, thank you. The MK show takes a very, very different view. There is good reason to
00:06:14.580 distrust Mr. Biden when it comes to disclosures about his health and well-being. There is now a
00:06:19.740 clear possibility that he had terminal cancer while president and was seeking a second term. That story
00:06:26.040 must be investigated. And President Trump thinks so, too, from the White House on Monday.
00:06:31.620 I think it's very sad, actually. I'm surprised that it wasn't, you know, the public wasn't notified a
00:06:39.280 long time ago because to get to stage nine, that's a long time. This is no longer politically correct.
00:06:44.220 This is dangerous for our country. Why did it take so long? I mean, when you this this takes a long
00:06:50.100 time, can take years to get to this level of danger. So it's a look. It's a very, very sad situation.
00:06:56.580 And I feel very badly about it. I think people should try and find out what happened, because
00:07:00.860 I'll tell you, the Walt, I don't know if it had anything to do with the hospital. Walter Reed is
00:07:04.560 really good. They're some of the best doctors I've ever seen. I don't even know if they were involved.
00:07:10.160 But a doctor was involved in each case. Maybe it was the same doctor. And somebody is not telling
00:07:16.920 the facts. That's a big that's a big problem. Coming up, Trump's tax plan for babies. MAGA baby
00:07:24.360 savings accounts officially part of the GOP's sweeping new tax proposal. More witnesses
00:07:29.780 providing insight into the dark world of Sean Diddy Combs in week two of the rapper's criminal
00:07:34.860 trial. Plus, what do top FBI officials really think about Epstein's death? Kash Patel and Dan
00:07:41.620 Bongino speak out. As President Trump is settling into his new administration, one of the top Democrats
00:07:50.940 in Congress aiming to undermine the Trump agenda is Democrat Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois.
00:07:56.680 And according to our sponsor, the Electronic Payments Coalition, Senator Durbin has a new
00:08:01.760 plan, a government takeover of your credit card. Today, Americans have thousands of choices
00:08:07.160 in credit cards, but they say Senator Durbin's plan will result in less competition and less
00:08:11.880 security, which means more risk for your credit and your identity. You can learn more for yourself
00:08:17.680 at guardyourcard.org. And you could consider telling your senators to stop Dick Durbin's
00:08:24.360 government takeover of your credit card before it's too late.
00:08:30.760 On Monday, Press Secretary Caroline Levitt confirming MAGA baby savings accounts will be included as a
00:08:37.440 provision in the so-called Big Beautiful tax bill, which cleared the House Budget Committee late Sunday
00:08:43.080 night. The GOP's tax bill creating a new type of savings account for children and launching a pilot
00:08:49.480 program for newborns. According to a review of the bill released by the House Ways and Means Committee,
00:08:55.220 money accounts for growth and advancement, or MAGA accounts, will be available to parents of any U.S.
00:09:02.260 citizen child under the age of eight years old, as long as one parent holds a valid Social Security
00:09:07.580 number. Under a pilot program for newborns, the federal government will contribute up to $1,000
00:09:13.360 to MAGA accounts for any U.S. citizen born between January 2025 and 2028. Under this program,
00:09:21.340 both parents must have a valid Social Security number.
00:09:24.400 This is a very pro-family piece of legislation. Not only does it increase the child tax credit,
00:09:29.640 but it also includes MAGA baby savings accounts. Essentially, it's a 401k for a newborn baby.
00:09:35.580 In child's relatives, their parents can contribute up to $5,000 per year of after-tax dollars annually
00:09:44.260 to that account. And then later in the baby's life, at age 25, savings account holders can withdraw
00:09:51.180 up to the full balance of the account. Upon reaching 30, the account holders can access the
00:09:55.760 full balance of the account for any purpose desired. So it's a great initiative for new parents,
00:10:01.640 new mothers who want to set up the savings account for their children.
00:10:04.460 Variations of baby savings accounts proposed by lawmakers across the political spectrum.
00:10:09.760 Hillary Clinton once floated a version of the idea during her 2007 campaign for the Democratic
00:10:14.520 presidential nomination. New Jersey Senator Cory Booker proposed baby bonds as part of his 2020
00:10:20.020 presidential platform. Speaker Mike Johnson racing to pass the GOP's one big, beautiful bill before
00:10:25.880 Memorial Day. The bill cleared the Budget Committee Sunday night by a single vote, with four Republicans
00:10:31.120 voting present to keep negotiations alive. Fiscal hawks want deeper spending cuts to offset Trump-backed tax
00:10:38.140 breaks, like eliminating taxes on tips and overtime. A full House vote expected this week. If it passes,
00:10:45.600 the bill heads over to the Senate under the reconciliation process, meaning Republicans can bypass a filibuster,
00:10:52.140 passing it with a simple majority if they get one.
00:10:55.020 Week two of the Sean Diddy Combs criminal trial underway in New York. Dawn Richard, former member of music
00:11:03.140 group Danity Kane, formed by Mr. Combs, continuing her testimony on Monday, describing frequent violence
00:11:09.940 against star witness Cassie Ventura, saying, quote, he would punch her, choke her, drag her, slap her in
00:11:15.960 the mouth. I saw him kick her, punch her in the stomach. Ms. Richard, telling prosecutors some members of Mr. Combs'
00:11:22.280 security staff also witnessed violence against Ms. Ventura, but did nothing about it. The witness telling
00:11:28.360 prosecutors she attempted to persuade Ms. Ventura to leave Mr. Combs, but eventually, quote, I made a decision that it would be
00:11:35.460 best for the safety of myself to not interfere, because I don't think she was really ready to do anything. Ms. Richard
00:11:42.020 currently has a separate civil complaint pending against Mr. Combs. Former friend to Ms. Ventura,
00:11:48.060 Carrie Morgan, also called on Monday to testify. Ms. Morgan testifying that she and Ms. Ventura were
00:11:53.740 best friends from 2001 to 2018, but the friendship ended when Mr. Combs assaulted Ms. Morgan, quote,
00:12:01.140 he came up behind me and choked me and then boomeranged a wooden hanger at my head. Ms. Morgan telling
00:12:07.380 prosecutors she packed up her belongings and left Ms. Ventura's apartment. The witness saying she met
00:12:13.080 with Ms. Ventura about a month later. Ms. Ventura told her that Mr. Combs would pay Ms. Morgan $30,000
00:12:19.380 in exchange for signing a non-disclosure agreement. Ms. Morgan says she agreed to the deal, accepted the
00:12:25.860 money, and never spoke to Ms. Ventura again. The former best friend also describing multiple instances
00:12:31.560 of violence, including the fallout after that 2016 incident at the Intercontinental Hotel, where
00:12:37.440 Mr. Combs was captured on security cameras, throwing Ms. Ventura to the ground, kicking her,
00:12:42.780 and dragging her. Ms. Morgan saying she was staying at Ms. Ventura's apartment at the time. Ms. Ventura
00:12:48.980 returned with a black eye. The witness testifying that Mr. Combs arrived at the apartment about 30 minutes
00:12:54.380 later, banging on the door with a hammer. On cross-examination, prosecutors asking Ms. Morgan about the
00:13:00.200 nature of the relationship between Combs and Ventura, including infidelity and jealousy. Ms. Morgan
00:13:06.080 saying to the defense she did believe Mr. Combs and Ms. Ventura were in love, also saying she at times
00:13:12.080 believed that they could work things out. The witness saying at the time Mr. Combs assaulted Ms. Morgan,
00:13:17.800 he was questioning her about an affair he thought Ms. Ventura was having. Mr. Combs is facing charges of
00:13:24.380 sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Mr. Combs has
00:13:30.140 pleaded not guilty. FBI Director Cash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino in a joint interview
00:13:37.860 Sunday on Fox, weighing in on Jeffrey Epstein's cause of death. You said Jeffrey Epstein committed
00:13:45.560 suicide. People don't believe it. Well, I mean, listen, they have a right to their opinion, but as
00:13:52.600 someone who has worked as a public defender, as a prosecutor, who's been in that prison system,
00:13:57.020 who's been in the Metropolitan Detention Center, who's been in segregated housing, you know a
00:14:02.020 suicide when you see one, and that's what that was. He killed himself. Again, you want me to, I've seen
00:14:08.720 the whole file. He killed himself. Deputy Director Dan Bongino adding on X, quote, I'm not asking you to
00:14:14.400 believe me or not. I'm telling you what exists and what doesn't. If new evidence surfaces, I'm happy to
00:14:20.860 reevaluate. Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in his jail cell in August of 2019, an apparent suicide by
00:14:27.800 hanging. At the time, he was awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. The disgraced
00:14:33.000 financier had many ties to powerful people, including former President Bill Clinton, Prince
00:14:37.940 Andrew, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, and various Hollywood elites, connections many expected to be
00:14:43.800 scrutinized in court. The suspicious circumstances surrounding Epstein's death sparking widespread
00:14:49.360 speculation. Two guards assigned to monitor Epstein reportedly fell asleep and failed to perform
00:14:55.600 mandatory 30-minute checks. Security cameras outside his cell malfunctioned, fueling ongoing
00:15:01.980 suspicions of foul play. Critics have pointed to the Epstein case and lack of transparency as a major
00:15:07.600 catalyst in declining public trust in the FBI. Attorney General Pam Bondi initially promised a full
00:15:14.260 release of the Epstein files, but in a very high-profile misstep, the documents unveiled in,
00:15:20.500 quote, phase one turned out to already be public. A number of influencers called to the White House for
00:15:27.140 the big reveal were publicly embarrassed through no fault of their own. A.G. Pam Bondi now saying her
00:15:33.480 team is carefully reviewing newly discovered files to ensure no Epstein victims are inadvertently
00:15:39.380 identified. The Trump administration says it remains committed to full transparency in the Epstein case.
00:15:46.020 And that'll do it for your AM update. I'm Megyn Kelly. Join me back here for The Megyn Kelly Show,
