00:01:36.240 are being researched for their off-label potential to support cancer treatment.

00:02:24.960 A breakthrough on the government shutdown.
00:02:27.640 Late last night, the Senate agreeing to a deal to advance the House-passed continuing resolution,
00:02:33.380 keeping funding at current levels through January 30th,
00:02:36.580 the first step to reopening the government as the record 40-day shutdown continues.
00:02:42.220 Later this week, the Senate will vote on a package of bills that would fully fund certain departments
00:02:48.440 all the way through the end of the fiscal year, September 30th, 2026,
00:02:53.500 including the Agriculture Department, FDA, Veterans Affairs, Military Construction,
00:02:58.560 and Congressional Operations, according to Politico.
00:03:01.640 The House will then have to approve any Senate-passed deals.
00:03:04.840 Part of the deal includes a separate vote this December on a Democrat proposal to extend Obamacare
00:03:11.620 tax credits for one year.
00:03:13.720 That bill would require 60 votes to pass.
00:03:16.700 The agreement also funding SNAP benefits, food assistance for low-income families,
00:03:21.740 through September of 2026, and would assist federal employees who were laid off in the shutdown,
00:03:27.720 per Axios.
00:03:28.500 Meanwhile, thousands of weary air travelers over the weekend feeling the toll of the shutdown
00:03:33.820 at airports nationwide, a sampling from ABC7 at Reagan National Airport in D.C.
00:03:40.060 Kind of speechless with it because our world is just sort of really crazy right now.
00:03:43.840 We've got to get it together.
00:03:44.820 It's absurd.
00:03:46.120 I think it's a complete failure of government,
00:03:48.260 and the government is serving itself and not the people.
00:03:51.840 It's driving me nuts.
00:03:52.980 Total headache, disaster nightmare.
00:03:54.900 It's terrible.
00:03:55.580 It's just terrible.
00:03:56.900 I feel like the American people are being held hostage right now.
00:04:00.420 Starting last Friday, the FAA reducing flights at 40 of the nation's top airports amid air traffic
00:04:06.040 control staffing shortages, beginning with a 4% cut in air traffic, rising by 1% each day,
00:04:13.280 up to 10% by midweek this week if the shutdown continues.
00:04:17.760 FAA Administrator Brian Bedford saying last week,
00:04:20.400 a massive 20 to 40% of controllers are failing to report to work on any given day,
00:04:26.840 as they, like other federal employees, have not been paid for weeks,
00:04:31.060 missing two full paychecks since the government shutdown began on October 1st.
00:04:36.380 Just on Saturday, Fox reporting 5,450 flights delayed,
00:04:41.320 American Delta, Southwest, and United, each canceling about 700 flights.
00:04:46.240 As the shutdown continues, those numbers only set to rise.
00:04:50.400 Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy warning air traffic will fall to, quote,
00:04:54.380 a trickle as we head to Thanksgiving.
00:04:57.420 Secretary Duffy sounding the alarm on Sunday, appearing on both Fox and CNN
00:05:01.320 about the mounting strain on U.S. airports as air traffic controllers work without pay.
00:05:07.080 Yesterday, we had 81 staffing triggers with air traffic controllers across the airspace.
00:05:12.120 You reported there was a, you know, a whole slew of cancellations and delays across the airspace.
00:05:18.720 That trend line is getting worse, right?
00:05:21.240 More controllers aren't coming to work day by day the further they go without a paycheck
00:05:25.100 because Democrats refuse to pay them.
00:05:27.680 I have more complaints coming into the FAA from pilots who are saying that air traffic controllers
00:05:33.280 are not as responsive.
00:05:34.880 They seem stressed or they're not using the appropriate language because they're under pressure.
00:05:40.080 So I look at that data that came from the safety team, and the trend line is going in the wrong direction.
00:05:46.640 So I need to take action and make sure that we keep people safe.
00:05:50.540 Secretary Duffy warning last week in a press conference that even with the passage of a budget deal,
00:05:55.760 flight delays will take time to resolve.
00:05:58.480 If the government opens on day one, will I see an immediate response from controllers?
00:06:03.680 No, the union is telling me it's going to take time to get them all back in.
00:06:07.660 Okay, I don't wish this was the circumstance in which I was dealing with.
00:06:12.160 So I imagine as we see the data change and more controllers come to work,
00:06:15.860 we are as quickly as possible going to take these restrictions away.
00:06:20.460 That's the best approach.
00:06:22.200 But we have to look at how many controllers come to work
00:06:25.140 and how long that takes after the government opens back up.
00:06:29.200 The White House pushing hard on Senate Republicans to kill the filibuster.
00:06:35.460 The Senate rule that requires 60 votes to get a vote on most legislation,
00:06:40.720 which then would need 51 votes in order to pass.
00:06:44.580 President Trump in recent weeks arguing that ending the filibuster is essential
00:06:48.800 for the Republicans' electoral prospects.
00:06:51.400 Posting on Truth Social last week, quote,
00:06:53.360 Democrats nearly abolishing the filibuster in January 2022
00:07:20.240 in an effort to pass so-called voting rights legislation.
00:07:24.180 That effort failing 52 to 48,
00:07:26.780 with Democrat Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema joining Republicans
00:07:30.500 to keep the filibuster in place.
00:07:33.300 They're both now gone.
00:07:35.240 Vice President J.D. Vance, posting to X Friday Morning, quote,
00:07:38.380 Many of my friends and former colleagues in the Senate are against eliminating the filibuster
00:07:43.000 because they don't think the Democrats will do it.
00:07:45.720 This is just obviously wrong.
00:07:47.640 The reason the filibuster exists is because of Democratic Senators Manchin and Sinema.
00:07:52.400 Both of them had their careers destroyed by the far left for protecting the filibuster.
00:07:57.200 And you better believe every Senate Democrat internalized that lesson.
00:08:01.800 Key Republican Senators still resisting the call.
00:08:04.680 Senate Majority Leader John Thune telling local South Dakota outlet KELO on Thursday,
00:08:10.200 quote,
00:08:10.800 Getting rid of the filibuster is not the answer here.
00:08:13.520 And frankly, there aren't the votes to do it, even if we tried.
00:08:17.280 U.S. Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma, a Republican,
00:08:21.220 Sunday on Meet the Press arguing to preserve the Senate's structure.
00:08:24.620 Yeah, we should not get rid of the filibuster.
00:08:26.540 The filibuster has been a core in the United States Senate since the early 1800s.
00:08:30.400 But what's unique about the filibuster and about the United States Senate,
00:08:34.160 it's the only place in our government where both sides have to talk to each other.
00:08:37.840 That's a good thing for America. 0.60
00:08:39.600 This is the place where the grownups need to sit down and to be able to have hard conversations
00:08:43.580 and say we have differences of opinion.
00:08:45.840 Let's work our differences out.
00:08:47.360 In the House of Representatives, it's majority only.
00:08:50.220 In the Supreme Court, majority only.
00:08:51.780 In the executive branch, majority only.
00:08:53.480 The Senate forces both sides to talk to each other.
00:08:56.000 I think that's good for the country.
00:08:57.100 U.S. Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, also a Republican, Sunday on Fox,
00:09:02.480 calling on his fellow GOP colleagues to ditch the filibuster.
00:09:06.380 I've got to believe every Republican believes they'll do that.
00:09:09.560 But again, they are clinging.
00:09:11.320 Listen, I wish the Democrats respect the filibuster.
00:09:14.540 It's a good thing for the institution, but they don't.
00:09:17.740 So you have to recognize that reality.
00:09:19.740 I come from the private sector.
00:09:21.080 A lot of realities sometimes you don't like to recognize.
00:09:23.100 But if you don't, you're going to be in big trouble.
00:09:25.800 And that's basically what President Trump is saying.
00:09:28.180 We have to recognize that reality.
00:09:30.120 If we want to do good things to the American public,
00:09:32.720 we better end the filibuster on our watch.
00:09:35.920 GOP Senators Jim Banks and Tommy Tuberville have also signaled
00:09:39.660 they would support eliminating the filibuster.
00:09:42.620 U.S. Senator Adam Schiff of California, a Democrat,
00:09:45.940 Sunday on ABC saying he supports abolishing the filibuster
00:09:49.460 to pass Democrat Party priorities.
00:09:51.720 When you were running for Senate, you came out against the filibuster.
00:09:54.900 If that comes to the Senate floor, will you vote for it?
00:09:57.520 I have continued to oppose the filibuster
00:10:00.480 and would be happy to do away with the filibuster.
00:10:03.040 But the question is, do away with it for what reason?
00:10:05.640 I would do away with it so that we can expand
00:10:07.720 and protect people's freedoms and their rights.
00:10:10.620 The Republicans and the president right now
00:10:12.300 are talking about doing away with the filibuster
00:10:14.040 so they can raise people's health care costs.
00:10:16.540 That is the wrong reason to do away with the filibuster.
00:10:19.060 At the Megyn Kelly live tour Thursday night,
00:10:22.060 Ben Shapiro floating a possible compromise.
00:10:25.120 I have sort of a happy medium counterproposal,
00:10:27.380 and it was actually put forward by our friend Jeremy Boring.
00:10:29.420 I thought it was quite brilliant.
00:10:30.520 What he suggested is that what Republicans should do,
00:10:32.600 he said this a year ago,
00:10:34.120 what Republicans should do is they should say to Democrats,
00:10:37.020 let's do a constitutional amendment
00:10:38.440 to enshrine the filibuster permanently,
00:10:40.600 and if you won't do it, then we'll nuke it.
00:10:42.700 I like that.
00:10:43.760 Because that's like, okay, either we're all on board
00:10:45.360 or nobody's on board.
00:10:46.140 We're not going to play this kind of take-em-on-faith game,
00:10:48.060 which I think is quite smart.
00:10:51.340 Coming up, former CIA Director John Brennan
00:10:53.760 and many more subpoenaed by a federal grand jury
00:10:56.900 as part of the investigation
00:10:58.440 into the origins of the Russia collusion hoax.
00:11:02.360 And Congresswoman Elise Stefanik
00:11:04.200 is officially running for governor of New York.
00:11:06.740 As President Trump is settling into his new administration,
00:11:14.420 one of the top Democrats in Congress
00:11:15.780 aiming to undermine the Trump agenda
00:11:17.700 is Democrat Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois.
00:11:20.800 And according to our sponsor,
00:11:22.600 the Electronic Payments Coalition,
00:11:24.740 Senator Durbin has a new plan,
00:11:26.900 a government takeover of your credit card.
00:11:29.340 Today, Americans have thousands of choices in credit cards,
00:11:32.240 but they say Senator Durbin's plan
00:11:34.240 will result in less competition and less security,
00:11:36.720 which means more risk for your credit and your identity.
00:11:40.740 You can learn more for yourself at guardyourcard.com.
00:11:44.460 And you could consider telling your senators
00:11:46.680 to stop Dick Durbin's government takeover
00:11:48.880 of your credit card before it's too late.
00:11:51.620 A federal grand jury on Friday subpoenaing
00:11:56.440 former CIA Director John Brennan,
00:11:58.720 former FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page,
00:12:02.160 with many more expected to come
00:12:03.760 as part of the ongoing investigation
00:12:05.560 into the origins of the Russia collusion hoax,
00:12:08.980 according to Fox News.
00:12:10.780 The trio served on Friday,
00:12:12.260 the scope of these subpoenas unclear for now.
00:12:15.280 Fox reporting up to 30 more individuals
00:12:17.500 are expected to be served in the coming days
00:12:19.740 in connection with the investigation.
00:12:22.500 The probe, based out of the Southern District of Florida,
00:12:25.460 overseen by U.S. Attorney Jason Redding Quinonez.
00:12:28.780 The New York Post reporting, quote,
00:12:30.220 the people targeted are seen as part of the conspiracy
00:12:33.380 that peddled claims President Trump's campaign
00:12:36.160 colluded with the Russian government
00:12:38.040 ahead of the 2016 election.
00:12:40.580 Article III Project founder and President Mike Davis
00:12:43.180 has long argued that the Russia probe
00:12:45.360 violated 18 U.S.C. Section 241,
00:12:49.540 conspiracy against rights.
00:12:51.780 Davis writing on X back in July, quote,
00:12:54.100 when you politicize and weaponize
00:12:55.780 intelligence agencies and law enforcement
00:12:57.880 to go after your political opponents,
00:13:00.320 that is textbook conspiracy against rights.
00:13:03.080 So is this latest round of subpoenas
00:13:05.780 a prelude to criminal charges?
00:13:08.460 Possibly.
00:13:09.640 Strzok, the former FBI counterintelligence agent
00:13:12.220 opening the Trump-Russia investigation
00:13:14.300 known as Crossfire Hurricane back in 2016.
00:13:18.540 Strzok eventually moving to Special Counsel
00:13:20.320 Robert Mueller's team investigating possible collusion.
00:13:23.880 FBI attorney Lisa Page serving briefly
00:13:26.160 on the Mueller investigation as well.
00:13:28.580 You may recall the two lovers' text messages
00:13:30.740 uncovered during the Inspector General
00:13:32.800 Michael Horowitz's probe
00:13:34.580 into the investigation's origins.
00:13:37.580 August 8th, 2016, Lisa Page writing to Strzok, quote,
00:13:41.120 quote, Trump's not ever going to become president, right?
00:13:44.300 Right?
00:13:45.220 Strzok responding, quote,
00:13:46.680 no, no, he won't.
00:13:48.180 We'll stop it.
00:13:49.620 Those texts, and many more, equally cringey,
00:13:53.080 leading to Strzok's removal from the Mueller team.
00:13:56.020 Strzok and Page already investigated
00:13:57.720 by Inspector General Michael Horowitz
00:13:59.500 for their roles, both in Crossfire Hurricane
00:14:02.280 and in the Clinton email probe.
00:14:05.240 IG Horowitz ultimately referring them
00:14:07.480 for internal discipline rather than criminal charges.
00:14:10.460 Page, resigning from the FBI in 2018,
00:14:13.780 Strzok fired that same year.
00:14:16.120 In July 2024, the Biden DOJ agreeing to pay them
00:14:19.520 a $2 million settlement over the public release
00:14:23.700 of their texts.
00:14:25.280 Horowitz's probes did not extend to the CIA,
00:14:28.600 though former Director Brennan
00:14:30.080 has since come under scrutiny of his own.
00:14:33.340 Fox News first reporting in July
00:14:35.220 on the criminal investigation
00:14:36.780 into former CIA Director Brennan
00:14:38.640 launched after a referral
00:14:40.500 from current CIA Director John Ratcliffe to the DOJ.
00:14:44.820 Over the summer,
00:14:45.620 Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard
00:14:47.880 declassifying the 2020 House Intelligence Committee report,
00:14:52.480 finding top intel officials, including Mr. Brennan,
00:14:55.220 used flawed and selectively filtered intel
00:14:57.960 to craft the Obama-ordered 2017
00:15:00.540 Intelligence Community Assessment, or ICA,
00:15:04.000 which claimed Russian President Vladimir Putin,
00:15:06.740 quote,
00:15:07.060 aspired to help then-candidate Trump win in 2016.
00:15:11.600 Since then, Brennan has been referred to the DOJ
00:15:14.200 for possible wrongdoing,
00:15:15.760 at least once more,
00:15:17.400 by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan,
00:15:20.280 in connection with allegedly false statements
00:15:22.180 made by Brennan over the CIA's reliance
00:15:24.520 on the discredited, Clinton-funded opposition research,
00:15:28.200 known as the Steele dossier,
00:15:29.720 in the ICA.
00:15:31.860 Chairman Jordan pointing to one example
00:15:33.560 of an allegedly false statement
00:15:35.180 stemming from a May 2023 transcribed interview
00:15:38.500 Brennan gave to the Judiciary Committee.
00:15:41.400 Congressman Matt Gaetz,
00:15:42.820 pressing Brennan on his Russian disinformation expertise,
00:15:46.020 quote,
00:15:46.700 you were involved with analyzing the Steele dossier.
00:15:50.460 Brennan responding,
00:15:51.280 quote,
00:15:51.420 no, I was not involved in analyzing the dossier at all.
00:15:54.960 I said the first time I actually saw it,
00:15:56.880 that it was after the election,
00:15:58.680 and the CIA was not involved at all with the dossier.
00:16:02.840 It was in the FBI's purview,
00:16:04.680 their area,
00:16:05.520 not ours at all.
00:16:07.160 However,
00:16:07.720 according to the now-released 2020 Intel report,
00:16:11.600 not only was the CIA involved with that dossier,
00:16:15.040 but it was Director Brennan himself
00:16:16.920 who insisted on including it in the ICA,
00:16:21.040 despite objections from senior CIA Intel officials.
00:16:24.380 Those agents citing its serious credibility problems,
00:16:28.300 arguing that it should be excluded,
00:16:30.480 only to be overruled by Director Brennan,
00:16:32.960 who allegedly said,
00:16:34.040 quote,
00:16:34.600 yes,
00:16:35.180 but doesn't it ring true?
00:16:37.420 Mr. Brennan has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.
00:16:40.420 Strzok and Page have yet to weigh in.
00:16:43.820 Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik on Friday
00:16:46.840 officially launching her campaign for governor of New York,
00:16:50.400 posting a video to social media
00:16:51.900 attacking Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul,
00:16:54.020 over New York's affordability crisis,
00:16:56.600 and highlighting the governor's support
00:16:58.140 for New York City Mayor-elect,
00:17:00.980 Democratic Socialist Zoran Mamdani.
00:17:03.860 Kathy Hochul made New York
00:17:05.480 the most unaffordable state in the nation,
00:17:08.440 crushing families with sky-high taxes,
00:17:11.420 unaffordable rent,
00:17:12.840 soaring energy costs,
00:17:14.740 and record-high grocery bills,
00:17:17.400 and cozied up to a defund-the-police,
00:17:20.160 tax-hiking, anti-Semitic communist.
00:17:23.200 But from the ashes of Kathy Hochul's failed policies,
00:17:28.080 New York will rise,
00:17:30.440 like we always do.
00:17:32.300 The spirit of the empire state cannot be broken.
00:17:35.900 Elise Stefanik will make New York affordable and safe.
00:17:40.620 People in New York,
00:17:41.580 no matter if you're a Republican,
00:17:43.120 independent,
00:17:43.620 or Democrat,
00:17:44.400 enough is enough.
00:17:45.700 We are the most unaffordable state in the nation
00:17:48.000 because of single-party Democrat rule,
00:17:50.080 led by Kathy Hochul.
00:17:52.160 In an accompanying post,
00:17:53.680 Congresswoman Stefanik unveiling a strategy
00:17:56.080 of tying the governor
00:17:57.300 to Mayor-elect Mamdani,
00:17:59.560 writing,
00:17:59.780 When New Yorkers were looking for leadership
00:18:02.320 from our governor,
00:18:03.600 she bent the knee to the raging, 0.98
00:18:05.520 defund-the-police,
00:18:06.620 tax-hiking communist
00:18:07.820 causing catastrophe
00:18:09.080 for New York families.
00:18:11.180 Political reporting,
00:18:12.160 Republicans hold a vast voter enrollment
00:18:14.260 disadvantage in New York,
00:18:16.060 and no GOP candidate
00:18:17.220 has won statewide office since 2002.
00:18:21.180 Axios reporting,
00:18:22.060 Stefanik's team aims to win over
00:18:23.760 independents and moderate Democrats,
00:18:26.200 alienated by Mamdani
00:18:27.540 and his socialist policies.
00:18:29.920 Complicating Governor Hochul's
00:18:31.060 re-election effort,
00:18:32.160 a primary challenge
00:18:33.240 from her own
00:18:34.000 Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado,
00:18:36.780 who launched his campaign in June.
00:18:39.160 The Lieutenant Governor says
00:18:40.260 he's open to increasing taxes
00:18:42.340 on the wealthiest New Yorkers.
00:18:44.500 Axios summing up
00:18:45.540 Team Stefanik's characterization
00:18:46.880 of Governor Hochul's predicament
00:18:48.600 as such,
00:18:49.220 quote,
00:18:49.420 If Hochul greenlights
00:18:50.940 Mamdani's request
00:18:51.860 for tax increases
00:18:52.960 to pay for his affordability push,
00:18:55.520 the governor would turn off
00:18:56.460 moderates and independents.
00:18:58.460 But if she turns Mamdani down,
00:19:00.520 she risks alienating
00:19:01.760 his coalition of voters
00:19:03.140 she wants to turn out 0.99
00:19:04.460 for her in 2026.
00:19:06.820 Politico also reporting
00:19:08.160 Mamdani's anti-Israel views
00:19:10.060 poll poorly in New York suburbs.
00:19:13.340 Congresswoman Stefanik
00:19:14.360 is a notable House voice
00:19:15.880 against anti-Semitism,
00:19:17.220 best demonstrated in this moment
00:19:19.440 from a December 2023 hearing
00:19:21.260 with Ivy League presidents
00:19:22.900 over their handling
00:19:24.260 of on-campus anti-Semitism.
00:19:26.960 Do you understand
00:19:27.520 your testimony
00:19:28.240 is dehumanizing them?
00:19:30.200 Do you understand
00:19:31.080 that dehumanization
00:19:32.480 is part of anti-Semitism?
00:19:34.480 I will ask you one more time.
00:19:37.220 Does calling for the genocide of Jews
00:19:39.620 violate Harvard's rules
00:19:41.380 of bullying and harassment?
00:19:43.260 Yes or no?
00:19:44.520 It depends on the context.
00:19:46.180 It does not depend on the context.
00:19:48.360 The answer is yes.
00:19:49.700 And this is why you should resign.
00:19:51.580 These are unacceptable answers
00:19:53.000 across the board.
00:19:54.780 An October poll
00:19:55.460 by conservative think tank
00:19:56.720 the Manhattan Institute

00:20:09.840 conducted by Siena College
00:20:11.840 showing Governor Hochul
00:20:13.160 leading Stefanik

00:20:18.880 Election day
00:20:19.540 is November 3rd, 2026.
