00:01:00.840 Welcome to The Megyn Kelly Show, live on Sirius XM Channel 111 every weekday at New East.
00:01:12.540 Hey everyone, I'm Megyn Kelly. Welcome to The Megyn Kelly Show and happy Monday.
00:01:16.020 We have so much to get to today. So first of all, I went to see the Elizabeth Holmes documentary
00:01:20.980 on, I don't know what night it was, over the weekend with Doug. I'm going to say this,
00:01:26.240 go see it. I think it's worth your time. It's three hours long. I did not find the big shocking
00:01:34.060 twist as shocking as everybody else did there. You are kind of like, what's happening? What is
00:01:38.880 this? I'm not going to spoil it for you, but like, it's not as shocking as it was built up to be.
00:01:45.000 However, it's fun to be surprised. You know, like we don't often get that at the movies,
00:01:50.640 whether it's in a thriller or a drama or a documentary.
00:01:55.460 Like, it's tough to surprise you.
00:01:58.000 And to have filmmakers who take a risk and do something a way you definitely have never seen before and didn't anticipate is fun.
00:02:07.900 And here's the other thing I'll say about it.
00:02:10.540 Doug and I bought tickets.
00:02:12.400 And you know how, like now, at most movie theaters, you can reserve them online and you can reserve your seats.
00:02:18.560 And, you know, we did choose two seats, but I never think about it much because the movie
00:02:23.400 theaters are always empty and like whatever seats you get, you can move your seats.
00:02:27.880 Like nobody's ever there.
00:02:28.980 You know, at most you have like 12 people in the theater these days.
00:02:31.860 I don't know if you've been to the movies at all lately, but that's been my experience
00:02:36.100 over the past couple of years.
00:02:37.440 So we walked in a little late and thank God we had reserved decent seats because ours were
00:02:44.880 the only two in the theater that were empty.
00:02:47.440 It was packed.
00:02:49.840 It was like it used to be in the 90s.
00:02:53.420 Everybody had filled a seat.
00:02:55.780 I mean, every single seat in the theater was filled.
00:02:58.500 I think people were excited by the fact
00:03:01.060 that the movie just hit this weekend
00:03:02.480 and there'd been so much buzz about its big twist.
00:03:06.160 All the reviews I read said was expect a big twist
00:03:11.060 involving a well-known actress that did deliver,
00:03:14.500 again, I'm not gonna ruin it for you,
00:03:16.100 that did deliver, but I will tell you this, and we're going to take a deeper dive into this
00:03:20.940 later this week, okay? But I'll tell you this. As I watched it and I got two-thirds of the way
00:03:29.560 into it, there is an explosive scene involving said actress, which made very clear to me why
00:03:36.740 this is so beloved by the critics and many of the audience members. It did go political
00:03:43.580 in this scene. It went political over someone who I happened to love. His name is Charlie Kirk
00:03:50.980 and it was fucking ridiculous. It was ridiculous. And I was in the midst of a bunch of leftists 1.00
00:03:59.680 in the theater. I'm not going to ruin it for you again, but his name came up and
00:04:05.700 one person was shitting all over Charlie and one person was defending him. And the person who was 0.65
00:04:15.080 shitting all over Charlie is the person who's supposed to be heroic in this film. And the 0.93
00:04:21.980 person who was defending him emerges as the villain of the entire movie. So it's just,
00:04:30.200 you can't go anywhere. You cannot, as a right-leaning independent or a conservative in
00:04:36.300 America, you cannot go anywhere without having your core beliefs or people you admire or love 0.98
00:04:42.520 dumped on by a Hollywood machine that just doesn't give two shits about you. 0.94
00:04:51.280 Now, does this make me want to say, don't go see the movie too? No, it doesn't. I mean, 0.95
00:04:55.740 I would still have gone to see it, even if I'd been told this. I could understand why you might
00:05:02.140 not. It's not a political movie, except for in this one instance. But of course, that's how it
00:05:10.980 had to play out, right? Of course. And of course, they would build as a hero, the one, and as a
00:05:17.120 dirtbag, the other, and use this scene to really underscore the point. Like, what kind of an
00:05:22.760 asshole would defend Charlie Kirk and what kind of an asshole and what kind of a hero wouldn't 1.00
00:05:28.840 see what an asshole Charlie was. So it's just, it was just maddening, very annoying and offensive. 1.00
00:05:38.180 And there were people in our theater, you know, I live in Connecticut who were completely against
00:05:44.480 Charlie. I mean, they had obviously been so manipulated by the Nicole Hannah Joneses of the
00:05:50.260 world into thinking he was this terrible, racist, sexist, whatever. It's just really disturbing.
00:05:57.460 It's very disturbing to me on how a man's legacy can be so manipulated by a leftist media designed
00:06:04.760 to ruin him, even when he was murdered in such a horrible fashion that any normal human would have
00:06:12.840 ongoing empathy for him and his memory. You don't have to love him, but to treat him like
00:06:20.240 he's like someone said the words, Hitler is great. The audience was recoiling at the defense 0.98
00:06:28.420 of Charlie in this one scene. So anyway, more on this later, because we're basically now in a fight
00:06:35.240 for the narrative around Elizabeth Holmes, what she did, whether she's a villain, whether she
00:06:43.300 belongs in prison and so on. And we will be taking up that battle as the week goes on.
00:06:48.800 First, though, we want to get to the latest on the investigation into Ilhan Omar because some bombshells dropped over the weekend.
00:06:56.200 As we've been reporting, the Democratic congresswoman is under federal investigation for possible immigration fraud as well as possible fraud around her financial disclosures.
00:07:06.900 Federal agents raided her D.C. residence this day last week.
00:07:10.820 It's been seven days now. And The Wall Street Journal reports that the Trump administration is aiming to build a case that strips her of her citizenship.
00:07:18.800 Again, that's not a surprise. We've figured that out.
00:07:21.500 If, as we discussed on Friday, she even is a citizen right now, that's the most interesting wrinkle to me.
00:07:29.220 I mean, if you didn't see our shows last week, go back and watch Friday, because there is a possibility, like better than average possibility,
00:07:38.460 that Ilhan Omar is not an improperly naturalized U.S. citizen, 0.63
00:07:44.540 but that she may be an illegal alien, not here lawfully at all.
00:07:51.060 We apparently have not been able to find the paperwork,
00:07:55.060 or at least the person who ran against her in a primary in Minnesota in 2019,
00:07:59.700 A.J. Kempt, made two official requests of the Citizens and Immigration Services
00:08:05.240 and of DHS saying, please provide Ilhan Omar's father's naturalization papers.
00:08:12.200 And they were not retrievable.
00:08:14.980 They sent her back certificate of missing documents.
00:08:19.200 And her alleged citizenship is only derivative of her father's.
00:08:22.760 She was allegedly a minor.
00:08:24.600 That's another thing the DHS does not appear to believe of her when her father was naturalized.
00:08:29.960 So there are real questions about whether he really was naturalized,
00:08:32.280 whether she could have gotten derivative naturalization because she may have been an adult
00:08:40.580 and whether any of that paperwork ever happened at all or whether they just continued living here
00:08:46.340 illegally and pretended to be naturalized citizens. I have no idea. I'm sure it's all
00:08:51.760 on the list of what's being investigated. But here was the bombshell our pal Leland Vittert
00:08:56.300 of News Nation dropped on Friday night with taking this thing next level and showing us
00:09:03.100 just how seriously the feds are taking this and how expansive the investigation into her
00:09:10.700 and potentially her family's alleged wrongdoing really is. Watch.
00:09:16.060 Multiple sources have confirmed to me that federal agents went dumpster diving to get DNA from
00:09:23.120 Minnesota congressman Ilhan Omar and her family before that blockbuster raid on her DC home
00:09:29.180 earlier this week. Sources tell me that the likely coming indictments will be stunning in nature and
00:09:35.300 far beyond anything the public has understood the case to be about. Stunning, but the indictments
00:09:43.420 will be stunning and far beyond what anyone is expecting and that there was a DNA dumpster dive.
00:09:50.860 I mean, now that, that is shocking.
00:09:54.280 A DNA dumpster dive definitely means that they were,
00:09:57.600 that they're looking into the familial relations
00:09:59.820 and trying to figure out once and for all, what's what?
00:10:04.240 Like, what really is what?
00:10:06.680 Who's, who is related to whom?
00:10:10.520 Who married whom?
00:10:12.840 And just how widespread is the fraud inside of this family?
00:10:17.960 I want to just tell you a little bit more about that Leland Vittert.
00:10:20.860 news. We cut it short, but there was more. So he said, the indictments will be stunning,
00:10:29.920 far beyond anything we've understood this case to be about, that federal agents collected garbage
00:10:34.780 in the hopes of obtaining DNA of Omar and her family before last Monday's raids,
00:10:41.060 pointed out that multiple sources familiar with the probe told News Nation that potential DNA
00:10:46.120 evidence is, quote, critical to the investigation into Ilhan Omar. They say the case is broader than
00:10:52.120 the public may assume based on longstanding accusations surrounding her immigration history
00:10:56.440 or marital status, broader than her immigration history or her marital status, and that the DNA
00:11:04.720 evidence is critical to the investigation. Went on to say the investigation encompasses family
00:11:11.480 members of Ilhan Omar, quote, with evidence expected to go before a grand jury. Federal
00:11:17.640 agents, as we reported earlier, seized Omar's phone and that there were more than a dozen raids
00:11:24.060 actually occurring simultaneously last Monday. We also reported that to you, that there had been
00:11:30.820 multiple raids. It wasn't just to Ilhan Omar's residents, more than a dozen. Now that means it
00:11:37.220 goes beyond family. She doesn't even have that many family members that we know of.
00:11:42.960 Leland also reported that the case is being coordinated within the Minneapolis Office of
00:11:47.200 Homeland Security Investigations, suggesting it may be related to public benefits fraud
00:11:52.840 committed by some members of the Somali immigrant community in the region, because there is a
00:11:58.080 question about why is it being run out of Minnesota instead of D.C.? They're also assisting.
00:12:02.960 Janine Pirro was on Fox saying that last week. But why? Why is the center of the investigation
00:12:08.260 in Minnesota? There could be all sorts of reasons. The warrant remains sealed. So we just don't know.
00:12:14.320 We do know it was a Democrat magistrate judge who is apparently Hillary Clinton donor who signed off
00:12:20.720 on the search warrant. And while Ilhan Omar's team is trying to make some noise about, oh, the search,
00:12:26.580 the raid exceeded the bounds of the warrant, multiple officials have come out in the papers
00:12:31.780 over the weekend saying that's absolutely not true. And they're not dumb. They've operated 0.68
00:12:36.960 within the terms of the warrant and that these are just the complaints of someone who is trying
00:12:42.660 to make hay of the investigators as she tries to distract from the investigation. Now, the New York
00:12:50.500 Times also reported Friday night that investigators have been examining family text messages taken
00:12:56.960 from the phone of Omar's sister, Sarah Noor. Now, Sarah, I think that's how you pronounce it,
00:13:02.840 S-A-H-R-A, was the other sister to be brought to America with Ilan back in 1995. And this is when
00:13:15.080 she was allegedly 12 years old, Ilan Omar. And Sarah was the other sibling who came with her
00:13:22.500 and their dad. And they all pretended to be Omar's, which they're not. They're not. They're
00:13:27.880 Elmys. But they came here under the Omar name because the family of Omar was reportedly getting
00:13:33.200 asylum and they kind of just glommed on. Now she has at least two brothers and we believe one
00:13:41.080 additional sister named Layla who went to the UK when she and her sister Sarah came here with the
00:13:48.600 dad. And this will become relevant because, you know, the one brother, the Bresbend, would
00:13:55.120 reappear in America and back in Ilan's life. And it appears that Ilan's been trying for years to
00:14:02.180 scrub the online records of her relationship with Sister Layla, because Sister Layla would tie her
00:14:11.440 to Brother Ahmed, who's her Bresbend. So Sister Layla, we believe, has been over in the UK
00:14:18.040 And she raised Ahmed. Ahmed. We believe she raised him. When he got over there, he was raised. There was no listed caretaker, even though he was a kid. And Layla, Ilhan's other sister, we believe, was older. And there's social media between the two of them calling each other mom and son.
00:14:42.480 This is, the brother is Ahmed, the one she married.
00:14:46.360 And in 2000, hold on, I wrote it down.
00:14:50.020 I think it was 2002 and they divorced in 2009.
00:14:56.320 Or maybe it was, hold on, wait, wait.
00:14:58.260 I think my dates are off.
00:14:59.620 Strike those.
00:15:00.520 I don't have it in front of me,
00:15:01.500 but we'll ask our next guest because she's got it.
00:15:04.320 But yeah, so they were married legally,
00:15:07.860 technically I should say on paper for a number of years.
00:15:11.520 Yeah, February 2009, she married the brusband, and they divorced in December 2017.
00:15:21.260 And that's the one, Ahmed, who was raised by her sister, Layla, who would later go on to scrub her social media when this came out.
00:15:35.080 I'm going to get into these details in a second with our guest.
00:15:38.340 But here's the story.
00:15:39.580 back to the sister who came over here with Ilan and the dad in 95, Sarah, her phone was seized
00:15:47.660 earlier this year by federal investigators. And the Times is reporting that investigators
00:15:53.620 found something on that phone that they used as the basis for the warrant to conduct that raid
00:16:01.640 on Ilan Omar's house. So that would be pretty compelling evidence. Clearly, it was compelling
00:16:07.460 enough that a Democrat judge did not feel he could say no. They found something on the sister's phone,
00:16:14.740 which they seized, that allegedly incriminated Ilhan Omar, and it was used by the feds to get
00:16:20.560 a search warrant into Ilhan Omar's home. I mean, this is bad. It's bad. And the Times is reporting
00:16:28.380 that investigators are now attempting to show that there was a conspiracy to commit immigration
00:16:33.280 fraud. Conspiracy, obviously, you need at least two people and you need overt acts, at least one.
00:16:39.660 Former President Barack Obama came out this weekend with a lengthy defense of Ilhan Omar.
00:16:47.320 This is nothing new for him. He loves to weigh in on legal cases about which he knows absolutely
00:16:53.720 nothing, nothing just to torque up the sentiment around them on obviously what, you know, the side
00:17:04.280 that Barack Obama in his infinite with infinite wisdom has deemed is correct. He doesn't know
00:17:09.900 anything. This is he claims that it's politically motivated writing in part. I mean, we'd be here
00:17:16.220 all day if we read the full thing. But he wrote, quote, the full weight of the federal government
00:17:20.320 is being brought down on a law abiding facts, not in evidence, sir, elected official because
00:17:25.300 she has dared to criticize the president. He went on to say, quote, the fact that any president or
00:17:31.540 any administration is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should
00:17:37.300 outrage all Americans. Weird. I don't remember him weighing in during Joe Biden's reign of terror
00:17:43.040 against J six people who are just wandering around the Capitol, not those who beat cops,
00:17:48.960 but the ones who were literally just wandering around the Capitol, not to mention what was done
00:17:54.740 to President Trump, to Peter Navarro, to Steve Bannon. It's weird. It's only political retribution
00:18:01.280 when it's done with Donald Trump at the head of the government, regardless of how they feel about
00:18:06.380 Congresswoman Omar's political views, he continues. But because he writes, if this becomes the new
00:18:10.720 normal, there's no reason to believe it will stop with her or that future presidents in either party
00:18:16.340 won't do the same. It's unbelievable how obtuse that statement is, but that's giving him too
00:18:23.840 much, too little credit. He's not obtuse. He knows exactly what he's saying. He just refuses to
00:18:30.180 categorize what was done to Trump and Republicans under Joe Biden's reign, not to mention what
00:18:36.000 Barack Obama did to journalists like James Rosen spying on them as an outrage. He's not outraged
00:18:44.720 by it. He can justify everything he did or his former vice president did once he got into the
00:18:50.500 Oval as president. But the evil Trump, it's a different story. Obviously, this one's political 0.89
00:18:56.420 targeting, even though the investigation into Ilhan Omar began under Joe Biden. I didn't see
00:19:03.240 that in your tweet, Barack. Wrestle with that one. Let's stay right over the bullseye and engage one
00:19:10.500 another substantively. I'm ready. Let's do it. You and I, former lawyers, former practicing
00:19:16.740 lawyers, still current lawyers. Let's go. He won't stay over the bullseye, which because he's
00:19:24.460 not a truth teller. You know, as our pal Phil Houston, this by the lie, former CIA guy of over
00:19:30.240 quarter century says a truth teller runs toward the truth. They don't try to avoid the fact that
00:19:37.980 it began during the Biden administration. They don't try to avoid any of the pesky facts that
00:19:42.520 have emerged about Ilhan Omar that have even CNN scratching its head saying, hmm, this seems
00:19:50.080 troubling. In fact, why don't I just show you that in part as Jake Tapper and Ellie Honig
00:19:54.280 discussed this investigation a week minus two days ago, last Wednesday, SOT4.
00:20:01.080 Would it not have been wiser for the congresswoman to have gone to the Biden Justice Department
00:20:08.740 and said this has happened and there was a mistake and I'd like to come clean and pay 0.99
00:20:14.280 whatever fine and then that way this, you know, not left up to the Trump Justice Department?
00:20:18.700 Is that, I mean, has that occurred to you or?
00:20:22.800 It's a really tricky dilemma that any subject of this type of investigation might have.
00:20:28.420 And indeed, she might have fared better under the Biden administration.
00:20:31.200 But look, it's an important point of all this.
00:20:33.300 There was some investigation, as I think Evan just said, that was started under the Biden administration, reopened under the Trump administration.
00:20:40.040 So I think that's going to undermine any argument she may have down the line that this is politically selective and vindictive.
00:20:46.700 But again, then again, Donald Trump has given her plenty of ammo to argue that she's being singled out for personal reasons.
00:20:51.580 So that's a battle yet to come.
00:20:54.600 And by the way, I don't think anyone cares.
00:20:56.920 I don't think there's an American president in our borders whose goal is to put Ilhan Omar behind bars so much as to get her out.
00:21:07.520 If she is not a citizen, if she's not a valid, verified U.S. citizen, she needs to go. 1.00
00:21:14.980 Now, if she did commit immigration fraud that hurt people, she should go into prison. 0.96
00:21:21.740 I mean, whatever. 1.00
00:21:22.900 If she married her brother, if she lied about being here legally, the remedy for that is get out.
00:21:30.000 I don't think anybody wants to take up one of our prison seats with Ilhan Omar. 0.61
00:21:34.000 But if she lied, if she committed financial crimes, if she benefited unfairly by, you know, other than her immigration status,
00:21:44.560 then she's going to have to go to jail just like anybody else would, just like anybody else would.
00:21:49.100 All right, so Preya Samson-Dar is a former journalist for Alpha News, the great Alpha News in Minnesota, which we love.
00:21:57.900 And Preya was tasked over a decade ago to look into Representative Omar for the outlet.
00:22:06.140 You might already own a firearm, but what if you could start with less lethal methods to avoid the financial and mental repercussions of pulling the trigger?
00:22:14.840 This is where Burna comes in.
00:22:16.380 That's B-Y-R-N-A.
00:22:18.540 Burna's less lethal launchers are equipped with tear gas
00:22:21.900 and kinetic ammunition,
00:22:23.860 and they are designed to incapacitate an attacker
00:22:26.420 for up to 40 minutes.
00:22:28.720 And keep in mind with Burna,
00:22:29.740 you don't have to actually hit the perpetrator.
00:22:31.840 If you hit the wall or the door right behind or next to them,
00:22:35.000 it can also still have its incapacitating effect.
00:22:38.120 So if you're not the greatest shot in the world
00:22:39.580 and you're worried about stress, consider Burna.
00:22:42.140 They're also excited to launch their all new compact launcher.
00:22:44.620 It is a sleek, slim design, and it hits like a sledgehammer, the same size as a smartphone,
00:22:51.460 allowing women to conceal carry everywhere comfortably and with confidence.
00:22:55.000 It fires at 400 feet per second. 1.00
00:22:57.460 That's a lot of power to stop aggressors in their tracks.
00:23:00.020 Their pistols are American-made and hand-assembled in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with over 80% of the
00:23:04.400 components in the compact launcher being sourced in the USA.
00:23:08.120 Burna is legal in all 50 states.
00:23:09.980 it requires no background checks. So you can get it fast, unlike a firearm, and it can be shipped

00:23:31.600 Preya, thank you so much for being here. So just tell us, like, when you first started to look 1.00
00:23:36.580 into her, what was Ilhan Omar doing at the time over a decade ago? And what were your thoughts
00:23:42.660 on this assignment? So obviously, like you mentioned, it's been a decade that we have
00:23:47.240 been looking into now Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. Back in 2016, when we started diving into this
00:23:54.360 investigation, to be quite honest, I was a little shocked. I myself am the daughter of immigrants,
00:24:01.540 so I understand the immigration process very well because I've lived it my entire life. And so
00:24:06.300 So, you know, seeing Scott Johnson, you know, come out with this story about, you know, then-candidate Ilhan Omar, who was just beginning her political career, running for office for the first time to run for the state house in Minnesota, is kind of shocking.
00:24:22.180 The first kind of thought is, no way, there's no way someone would do this.
00:24:27.760 But we decided to dive in, follow, you know, Scott's path a little bit, confirm that what he was reporting was actually correct.
00:24:35.800 So we went down, pulled those records, and what we ended up finding were that there were two marriage license requests, one for her now ex-husband, and then one for her brother, who has been identified very well throughout the various reporting.
00:24:56.760 The one with her brother had been filed.
00:25:00.560 The one with her husband, her ex-husband, excuse me, was not filed.
00:25:06.000 What we ended up.
00:25:06.800 She's got just just to interject, she's got three husbands here.
00:25:09.680 There was the first guy who is the father of her children to whom she had a Muslim wedding ceremony, meaning religious.
00:25:16.820 But it was not legal as far as we know. 0.84
00:25:19.700 Yes, that's correct.
00:25:20.520 And then came her brother, Ahmed, Ahmed Nur Saeed Elmi.
00:25:27.120 Her real last name is Nur Saeed Elmi, too.
00:25:31.860 And so she was with him, as I pointed out, from 2009 to 2017.
00:25:37.600 Yeah.
00:25:38.200 I think that's what I said.
00:25:39.360 And then they divorced, she and the brother, because that one had been papered.
00:25:45.140 And then she married this guy, Minette, who's got, you know, the $30 million winery that within a year went down to zero. So just to keep it straight, keep going. We're not on Minette. We're talking right now about that first husband and the brusband, as they've been calling him.
00:25:58.660 Yes. And what struck us as very odd, to your point, she married the father of her children
00:26:06.520 using traditional Islamic culture. So, she went through the process to make sure that it was 0.76
00:26:15.820 legal amongst their community. But when it came to her husband, her brother-husband,
00:26:21.240 she actually got married by a christian pastor uh in eden prairie and that is who married them
00:26:29.980 that is who the state records um had identified as being the individual who had had married them
00:26:38.360 and that stark is odd because if you are a practicing you know muslim this is your faith
00:26:43.180 you're taking the necessary steps to identify the father of your children as your husband
00:26:49.700 in Islamic culture, but you don't have the same tradition for somebody that you did marry to the
00:26:57.740 point where you're getting married by a Christian pastor, that started raising red flags. So, we
00:27:02.180 started reporting on this, and what we ended up finding was a lot of folks within the community
00:27:07.560 who were terrified to come forward because, you know, they're law-abiding citizens. These are
00:27:13.180 people that are trying to just make it in this country, get, you know, get their version of the
00:27:19.020 american dream they're opening businesses they want a better life for their children and so they
00:27:24.000 don't want it to make they don't want it to seem like their their community is full of bad eggs
00:27:29.600 um but also there's fear because bilhan omar is running for office there are a lot of folks that
00:27:36.720 are supporting her um there's fear of retribution coming from within the community and so a lot of
00:27:41.900 these folks were terrified about stepping forward um but they would come to us anonymously and give
00:27:48.220 us reporting, give us information that we were able to verify. And this is how we started
00:27:54.460 piecing together this web of who Ilhan Omar's family was. This is who her father was. This is
00:28:04.280 who her brother is. And really just began feeding us information so we would be able to know and
00:28:10.000 confirm that what they were telling us was the truth. I mean, it got to the point where we would,
00:28:14.320 I would go down to Cedar Riverside, meet with sources in Somali coffee shops, and we would sit
00:28:21.240 down and have Somali tea, and they would kind of explain to me the naming culture, and this is how
00:28:25.740 they name their children, and this is how they carry on last names and carry on legacy. This is
00:28:30.100 how they have moved through the immigration process over the years. And so, they were a 0.88
00:28:35.440 wealth of knowledge, but these were also people that were just terrified at the end of the day
00:28:40.100 about coming forward publicly
00:28:42.140 because they were afraid of the retribution
00:28:43.940 that they would face
00:28:44.900 should they put a face to
00:28:46.680 the information that was coming out
00:28:50.040 against somebody within their community
00:28:52.580 who was rising up to be powerful.
00:28:55.600 Prey, do we know what,
00:28:58.940 I mean, the thing I can't get past
00:29:00.840 is this A.J. Kemp who ran against her
00:29:02.920 asking Immigration Services and DHS
00:29:06.140 for any proof of the naturalization
00:29:08.180 and being told those documents don't exist.
00:29:10.860 So do we know whether the father and Ilhan Omar were ever, in fact, naturalized?
00:29:18.180 You know, for all intents and purposes, you know, I don't think that ever came into question
00:29:23.280 between my reporting, Scott's reporting, or Dave Steinberg's reporting.
00:29:26.400 You carried it on long after I left Alpha News.
00:29:31.240 The naturalization was never the issue.
00:29:34.820 Some explanations that I've heard is just that immigration records are incredibly secure.
00:29:41.460 They're incredibly safe.
00:29:42.300 It's not something they just hand out to anybody.
00:29:44.800 And so when it comes to public records requests, they might just say that there are no publicly
00:29:50.420 available documents that are available for that kind of request.
00:29:55.660 And so maybe that's why that it hasn't come forward.
00:29:58.200 As far as anything that I have looked into, I know Scott's looked into and Dave's looked
00:30:03.160 into as well. There's nothing to suggest that they haven't been naturalized. That has never
00:30:08.580 been the question at hand. The question has always been. Well, other than the other than
00:30:14.940 the response that A.J. Kemp got. Yeah. I mean, that that definitely raises. And our pal Andy
00:30:19.540 McCarthy, who is no slouch when it comes to his legal analysis, he also pointed out five years is
00:30:26.460 an awfully fast time to go from refugee to naturalized citizen. Awfully fast. They got here
00:30:31.340 95. And by 2000, we were handing out naturalization to this dad who was very controversial and his
00:30:37.300 daughters. So I think part of the process, you know, looking into that immigration process just
00:30:43.480 a little bit, obviously, you know, we know that the administrations, both Clinton and Bush, were
00:30:49.220 kind of fast tracking some of this refugee incoming. They were asking states to voluntarily
00:30:54.640 take votes. The small community wasn't the only one at the time. We knew that now that
00:30:58.800 current immigrants were also coming in from Asia as well at that time. So whether or not
00:31:05.560 they were fast-tracking naturalizations at that point, we're not entirely sure. I don't think
00:31:12.320 we'll ever really get a full comprehensive answer. What we do know is that at least at some point,
00:31:20.840 Ilhan Omar's grandfather was serving as a general in Somalia in their military. That is something
00:31:26.420 that we'd gotten from sources. Obviously, now we're seeing with more reports about who Ilhan
00:31:31.120 Omar's father actually was. We knew at that time, 10 years ago, that he was not the mild-mannered
00:31:36.680 teacher that they were painting him out to be. We knew that he came from a very important family,
00:31:41.480 and so he would probably carry an important title as well. But also in Somalia at that time,
00:31:46.840 even to now, we also know that they just don't have the level of record keeping that the United
00:31:53.180 States and other more developed nations carry. So when you're thinking of the United Kingdom,
00:31:58.660 you're thinking of Europe and Australia. They're not carrying the same kind of record keeping. So
00:32:04.080 it's very easy for, you know, folks to come in and have siblings with very different names,
00:32:10.600 just because that's how they keep records. It's very chaotic. And so it's also very easy to
00:32:18.280 Because now what's emerging is that the granddad may have been a general in this army, but the dad appears to have been a colonel in said army and not some, as you point out, mild-mannered teacher, but a guy who was working for, I mean, a very controversial leader who's accused of killing tens of thousands of civilians.
00:32:36.780 Not somebody that we would, had we known, ever given refugee status, never mind citizenship to.
00:32:43.260 So what do you think when you when you now see that that there's not just renewed interest?
00:32:48.940 OK, so let's say President Trump doesn't like Ilhan Omar and decided, as he did with Tish James and James Comey, possibly to push the DOJ to take a closer look at this person's behavior to see if there's a crime there.
00:33:03.240 It seems to me in the case of Ilhan Omar, they struck the jackpot, whereas like they may have had to push it in some other instances with Ilhan Omar.
00:33:12.000 There's just no way a federal judge would have signed off on a search warrant, which is serious business, unless he was convinced there was probable cause, sufficiently alleged, of a crime.
00:33:23.960 So do you have any idea or belief on what specifically they may be investigating?
00:33:32.620 I think that they're definitely looking into all different aspects of this.
00:33:38.000 I think the reality is, is that they started pulling on this thread back during the Biden administration, as you so rightly pointed out. This is not by any means a political witch hunt. This is about looking at where the evidence is leading them. And so I think 10 years ago, we asked a question of whether or not Ilhan Omar married her brother.
00:33:57.300 She has had 10 years to answer that question and to offer an explanation for why there is multiple documentation, why it is that she had a legal Christian marriage with somebody who, by Somali naming culture, carries the naming patterns that are associated with her family, and not the husband that she lived with had multiple children with.
00:34:24.600 and up until recently was married to via Islamic customs. She has had 10 years to do that. She
00:34:33.020 didn't have to answer me. I worked for Alpha News, a conservative outlet. I understand why she
00:34:36.860 wouldn't maybe necessarily answer our questions of explain to us what this looks like. But the
00:34:44.180 Star Tribune, the Associated Press, mainstream media after mainstream media asked her the same
00:34:49.140 question and they gave her no answers. And while they may not have been able to report on it,
00:34:53.540 definitely heard through the grapevine that they were all just as concerned and puzzled by the
00:35:00.320 lack of response from her either. My guess is that the Biden administration decided to pull
00:35:05.520 the string a little bit, maybe to close the books on this once and for all, give the American people
00:35:10.600 the answer they deserve. And what they ended up finding was a web far more complicated than Scott,
00:35:16.620 myself, or David could have ever imagined. Right, right. Get at it. Get out, get out,
00:35:21.560 get out. This whole sweater's unraveling. We're done with his project. You actually did reach out
00:35:26.200 to the, the Brisbane and, um, this guy off med, right. And he, he did respond to you, um, in
00:35:35.420 August of 2016. Uh, let's see, hold on a second. I have it here. He responded to you that he is
00:35:42.720 quote, not entirely sure. I'm aware of what's going on, but there seems to have been a mistake
00:35:49.720 maid. No way am I affiliated with anyone in your articles, nor do I recall being married to anyone,
00:35:58.120 at least from what I remember. This is August of 16, in which her brother, Ahmed, is definitely
00:36:06.540 still married to her. She denies he's her brother, but he's totally her brother. And you're in touch
00:36:11.960 with this guy who's been in the UK all this time. And he says, nor do I recall being married to
00:36:21.060 anyone, at least from what I remember, then requested that you at Alpha News take down
00:36:26.780 his image from your site and wished you luck in finding what you were looking for. I mean,
00:36:32.440 that must have jumped out at you, Preya, as a little odd. 0.99
00:36:36.440 No, 100 percent. And through our reporting, through the investigation and through my
00:36:41.300 conversations with sources within the community, it was very clear that the brother was the black
00:36:48.040 sheep of the family. He was living a very non-conservative lifestyle by all measures
00:36:55.040 that a well-standing family practicing the Islamic faith would expect. You know, he was living a 1.00
00:37:03.580 very gay lifestyle, like, let's just call spade a spade. He was living a very gay lifestyle, 0.98
00:37:08.580 going to clubs and just enjoying his life the way that you would expect a regular American would do. 1.00
00:37:18.320 But in Islamic culture, that's not acceptable. And so I think some of what we saw transpire 1.00
00:37:26.720 between 2009 and 2016 was the father trying to bring his son back and try to right the ship a
00:37:32.900 little bit and get some control over his son. Did he come back to America? He was in the UK
00:37:38.160 When the family split and she and the dad came here with their sister, it looks like
00:37:41.980 the two brothers and the other sister, Layla, moved to the UK.
00:37:45.640 But when she married him, did he come stateside?
00:37:48.520 Yes, he was here for quite a few years.
00:37:51.080 I believe that he ended up leaving right around 2013, 2014, if I remember correctly.
00:38:00.580 He was here for quite a few years because some of the Instagram shots that we were able
00:38:06.320 to recover via social media. It was very clear that he was well in connection with Ilhan at the
00:38:13.300 time, and he was posting photos from around the city that were very identifiable. He was living-
00:38:20.600 That makes sense, because we did hear last week that he had applied for a permanent green card,
00:38:26.360 and they wanted more information about his marriage, and he withdrew the request.
00:38:32.040 That wouldn't be surprising considering the information that we know. I think anybody who had done some, you know, digging into Ilhan at the time, I think that they would have discovered that this would have been something akin to green card fraud, you know, a scam green card marriage.
00:38:51.940 This is something that the United States Immigrations and Customs has done very well over the decades.
00:39:00.800 They know what to look for when it comes to signs for immigration fraud, when it comes to marriages and green card marriages, to the point where they're investigating these families years after the marriage has occurred. 0.98
00:39:14.780 mm-hmm and so what do you make of this news about the dna dumpster diving on the family
00:39:23.400 i mean that's always been in question right because ilhan's never answered the question and so
00:39:30.060 i think for any federal authority to concretely make the case outside of you know the social
00:39:37.740 media conversations that we've been able to identify or even some of the records um being
00:39:42.600 able to concretely say without, you know, a question of doubt, we've tested the DNA and we
00:39:48.260 can link these individuals as members of the same family having the same bloodline. That's going to
00:39:54.440 surpass any of these questions about, you know, political witch hunts. You know, this is Donald
00:40:00.420 Trump coming after immigrants or Ilhan Omar. You know, she's got a target on her back. This is, 1.00
00:40:07.460 The DOJ and the individuals in D.C. and in Minnesota who are conducting this investigation, they're making sure without a shadow of doubt that when they come to a jury, the grand jury, when they come to these federal judges and say, this is our case against a congresswoman, they want it to be known without a shadow of a doubt to any jury members, to a judge, to the American people that this is not done out of political malice.
00:40:35.640 But this is done because someone has broken the laws of this country and they tried to get over and over and over again.
00:40:42.560 Yeah. Here the this guy, Ali Mistel, writes for The Nation, and this was his take on what's happening with Ilhan Omar.
00:40:53.400 He writes, the attack on Omar should be viewed as an attack on every immigrant, every person of color and every outspoken activist in this country.
00:41:01.960 The Trump administration is saying that no matter who you are, they, the white people in charge, can make you disappear.
00:41:10.200 He writes, people doing this to Ilan represent the very worst this country has to offer.
00:41:15.260 The idea that no matter what you have, the white man can take it from you whenever he feels like it.
00:41:21.820 Your thoughts on that one?
00:41:22.800 Well, I'm the daughter of immigrants and my parents got married the legal in the right way.
00:41:29.700 I've seen, my parents have told me the stories of how they got married and how my mom came to
00:41:35.960 this country and how they did it the right way. I've seen it firsthand. It can be done when you
00:41:40.320 do it correctly. And my parents would be the first people to tell you, if you can't respect
00:41:46.900 what this country has to offer, if you're going to look at it like it's a villain, then why do
00:41:52.180 you want to be here? And I think there are so many immigrants across this country who have come here 0.99
00:41:57.020 the right way, who have come here the legal way. And they look at the situation and they shake
00:42:02.060 their head because they understand that it makes life harder for them as they try to build a life
00:42:08.220 based on the American dream that they've heard so much about. America is the greatest country
00:42:12.680 in the world. There's a reason why, that everybody that does not live here wants to be here.
00:42:18.880 And so I think for so many people, like my parents, they look to Ilhan Omar and they shake
00:42:26.280 their head and they're like if you're breaking the laws of this country then you should face
00:42:31.320 the consequences and if you haven't the business then yeah then somebody's gonna have to hold you
00:42:39.000 to account the um the business about the family and the split is relevant because the only sister
00:42:48.780 and this is based on the the reporting that you started that um uh david steinberg continued
00:42:54.940 and Scott Johnson as well,
00:42:57.100 who I recently found out is Eliana Johnson's dad.
00:43:00.180 But the business about the family split is relevant
00:43:03.380 because the social media posts
00:43:06.920 by the family that stayed in the UK,
00:43:09.860 namely her sister, we believe her sister, Layla,
00:43:13.120 her brother, Ahmed, who she married,
00:43:15.840 and the other brother,
00:43:17.360 but in particular, Ahmed and Layla's social media posts,
00:43:21.200 make clear that they are related.
00:43:24.940 And they're the only ones in the UK who have that last name, the triple last name that I was saying, that Nur Syed Elmi, Nur Syed Elmi.
00:43:40.580 So the father's name before he applied for asylum was Nur Syed Elmi Muhammad.
00:43:45.580 That's just how they list it.
00:43:46.700 then her sister who came over with her. She's now named Sarah Noor, but her name was Sarah
00:43:53.900 Noor Syed Elmi. And her three siblings who are granted asylum by the UK are Leila Noor Syed Elmi,
00:44:02.200 Mohamed Noor Syed Elmi, and Ahmed Noor Syed Elmi. And you were one of the ones who looked into
00:44:10.260 before this all came out, because you were there right at the beginning when this was just breaking.
00:44:15.060 what does the uk family say how do they describe their relationship with one another i mean they
00:44:21.560 refer to her as a sister um and if i can explain the refer to ilan naming culture here really quick
00:44:28.440 because i think for a lot of folks it can be very confusing if you haven't looked into it
00:44:32.780 essentially they attach the father the grandfather and the great-grandfather's
00:44:37.140 first names to the end of the child's first name. So, when you see Ilhan Noor Saeed Elmi
00:44:45.660 is what her birth name would have been, it is because Noor is her father's name,
00:44:51.780 Saeed was her grandfather's name, and Elmi was her great-grandfather's name. And so,
00:44:57.180 that last name will drop off when they name their children, and it follows the paternal line.
00:45:03.240 um and now back to you know your initial question about you know how they were describing you know
00:45:11.120 it was very clear that ilhan would go over to the united kingdom she would visit with her family
00:45:16.260 um you know we have a social media post where um ahmed is referring to ilhan's children um
00:45:24.840 you know she had just given birth he's referring to her daughters as his nieces fresh out of the
00:45:30.260 womb, and she's laughing about it. And this is during the time where they're married.
00:45:36.880 So he wasn't very effective at covering up the fraud.
00:45:40.840 I don't think they expected anybody to look. And the reality is, is if she hadn't run for office,
00:45:46.740 where folks would start putting this into the mainstream, especially, you know, when you
00:45:52.440 understand the different clans within the Somali community, sometimes there's a little bit of
00:45:58.400 infighting there. Um, and so if one of those clans starts speaking out, um, putting some stuff
00:46:03.960 into, um, you know, on the internet, um, starts, you know, spreading these rumors out, somebody's
00:46:10.360 going to start looking because she's now a person of interest. And that's exactly what happened.
00:46:14.920 Um, the reality is, is like none of this would have expanded, um, the way that it has if members
00:46:23.040 of the Somali community weren't talking on a public, but what they thought was private,
00:46:29.060 online chat room called Somali Spot. That's where Scott's initial reporting started 10 years ago,
00:46:37.440 is because members of the Somali community were talking about this in great lengths,
00:46:42.940 about Ilhan Omar marrying her brother, and these regular Minnesota voters who had no idea
00:46:50.180 We're about to elect this woman as their congresswoman or as their state representative, excuse me.
00:46:56.600 Their state representative, yeah, eventually as their U.S. congresswoman.
00:47:01.060 You reported back in August of 2016 that Ahmed had an Instagram post calling two young girls with a backpack from a primary school in Camden, his nieces,
00:47:16.840 and that Ilan's Instagram account loved the post. Are those her daughters?
00:47:22.500 Those are Layla's daughters from our reporting. So Layla has two daughters.
00:47:28.600 Layla has always lived in the United Kingdom. There's no evidence that I've been able to find
00:47:34.240 that suggests she ever came to the United States. From all of our reporting, it suggests that Ahmed 0.96
00:47:42.280 came to the United States when he was still a minor. We know that he graduated from a St. Paul
00:47:47.420 high school, then went back to the United Kingdom, and then obviously came back when he then married
00:47:53.700 Ilhan in 2009. But Layla has always stayed in the United Kingdom. She was married there. She
00:48:00.900 gave birth to at least two daughters that we know of. Those were the young girls that
00:48:07.040 Ahmed referred to as his nieces. And we know that Ilham liked that post. We also know.
00:48:14.660 And then you also reported that Ilhan liked that she has an Instagram post picturing herself with
00:48:22.240 the same twin girls and that she called the girls her nieces. Yes. So she and her husband
00:48:29.960 are calling the girls their nieces. But we don't think the husband is calling the girls his nieces
00:48:36.920 because of his marriage to Ilan.
00:48:39.280 No.
00:48:39.600 It's because that he is the brother of their mother.
00:48:44.640 Yes. That is 100% correct.
00:48:49.080 So then there was the matter of their divorce.
00:48:56.380 So eventually she did divorce her brother,
00:48:58.940 and later she would get married to Tim Minas.
00:49:02.320 They divorced in December of 2017.
00:49:04.720 And you reported that on August 10th, 2017, so that's a few months before her December divorce from him, Ilhan swore under penalty of perjury that she had had zero contact with Ahmed after June 2011, which would have been two years into their marriage.
00:49:24.760 Further, she swore she did not know where to find him.
00:49:27.880 She did not know a single person who was likely to know his whereabouts.
00:49:31.480 And she did this to apply for a default divorce from Ahmed, a divorce where one spouse cannot be located and served.
00:49:38.320 I mean, we know that just from civil court.
00:49:39.780 Like if you file a tort action against somebody and they never respond to your tort claim, you win by default.
00:49:45.880 The court will enter a judgment for you by default because they defaulted.
00:49:49.160 They never responded to the lawsuit.
00:49:50.540 And she was trying to get a default divorce from him saying, I haven't seen the guy.
00:49:54.900 I've been married to him for, what, eight years, and I haven't seen him since after year two of this marriage.
00:50:01.180 So what happened when you saw that and then tried to find him?
00:50:05.860 I mean, we had a ton of evidence, you know, at that point that she had been in contact with Ahmed.
00:50:13.480 Obviously, we had the various social media posts.
00:50:16.180 We were able to start linking family members together at this time.
00:50:20.540 But we have to also be reminded here that Ilhan probably would never have sought the divorce if Scott and I hadn't started asking questions.
00:50:32.520 Because as we remember, when Scott's initial questions about this marriage first came to be, she didn't send them to a normal attorney.
00:50:42.440 She sent them to a criminal defense attorney to have her answer Scott's questions.
00:50:47.620 And that right there, I think, was a tipping point that something wasn't necessarily right here.
00:50:53.660 But, you know, we reported on this for, you know, what it was.
00:50:57.940 And, you know, as we've kind of seen over the years, it was kind of the same answer of like, well, you know, I haven't seen him.
00:51:04.840 I haven't heard from him.
00:51:05.920 She refused to acknowledge the fact that she had engaged with him on social media.
00:51:11.980 It's just the constant deflect and, you know, victim blame.
00:51:16.280 And that's what she's done for the last 10 years.
00:51:17.920 And then after you guys started reporting on this, my understanding is they took down their social media, they scrubbed these references, then when they reposted social media, these references were gone, but you still had a record of it.
00:51:29.740 Yeah. And that really was why we took the screenshots when we did, because I knew right away that once we started reporting on this and this started to get out, things were going to start moving and things were going to start disappearing very quickly.
00:51:44.280 And so we needed to make sure that there was a record.
00:51:46.300 Very smart.
00:51:47.900 Preya, very smart.
00:51:48.980 I'm sure we're going to be talking a lot.
00:51:50.520 Thank you for your great reporting.
00:51:53.040 Amazing what the ball that you got rolling, and it may roll Ilhan Omar right on out of
00:51:57.440 this country.
00:51:58.440 We'll see you soon.
00:51:59.760 Thank you for having me.
00:52:00.720 All the best to you and to Alpha News, too.
00:52:02.200 I know you're no longer with them, but they're awesome.
00:52:03.680 Thank you.
00:52:04.000 See you soon, and we'll be right back.
00:52:05.760 Our sponsor, the Electronic Payments Coalition, says Washington politicians are always getting
00:52:10.280 in your wallet and that now they're messing with your credit card.
00:52:13.560 They say your credit card and the security it offers are under attack and that Senators Dick Durbin and Roger Marshall want to change the nation's payment system to benefit corporate megastores like Walmart and Target at the expense of everyday Americans.
00:52:27.560 Credit cards can keep your payments secure and provide rewards that families use to help make everyday purchases more affordable.
00:52:33.700 The Electronic Payments Coalition says the Durbin Marshall mandates would let corporate megastores cut corners on credit card processing, routing transactions over cheaper, untested networks with weaker security and fewer protections.

00:52:52.000 How does Edward Jones do money differently?
00:52:55.100 Our financial advisor would listen to us and actually really get to the meat and potatoes of what our lifestyle is and what we believe in.
00:53:03.700 Knowing our financial advisor was always there.
00:53:08.300 We can call him with anything, at any time.
00:53:11.740 We do money differently by providing advice that actually fits you.
00:53:25.200 We have been gabbing and gabbing in the commercial break about so many news stories.
00:53:30.660 One of these days, we got to, well, I'll tell you, one of these days, we'll just do a behind
00:53:36.520 the scenes and you'll get to know Steve and Debbie better and you'll get to hear their
00:53:39.720 opinions on things because I think you'd find them very fascinating and very politically astute.
00:53:45.940 Okay, I want to keep going with the news. There's news, a lot of news actually today
00:53:50.840 about Kimberly Guilfoyle, my former colleague at Fox News. And as you know, the person who
00:53:57.880 lost her ambassadorship to Greece last week, the president asked her, well, he fired her,
00:54:03.540 because there had been story after story in the Daily Mail and the Wall Street Journal
00:54:08.580 about her engaging in effective, you know, you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours
00:54:15.800 behaviors. Only her back wasn't really the back of the United States. It was the back
00:54:22.500 Kimberly Guilfoyle, like do Kimberly Guilfoyle a favor and I'll make your life easier. I'll
00:54:28.980 steer business your way. These are the allegations. She denies them. But this is why Trump fired her
00:54:36.460 and told her to step down. So this story is not over, not by a long shot, and we're going to be
00:54:42.980 getting a lot more. But I wanted to tell you about the latest because this guy's threatening the
00:54:47.280 Trump administration suggesting what he's going to reveal eventually could could tarnish the
00:54:54.620 chances of J.D. Vance or Marco Rubio should they choose to run for office. I think that may be
00:55:00.080 overstated, but you take it for whatever it is. Here's the story. This guy, Eric Dieters, who was
00:55:05.660 one of the ones who helped bring down Guilfoyle, was like a Trump sort of gadfly. He was everywhere
00:55:13.100 around the Trump administration, just sort of lingering and knowing people and buttering up
00:55:17.420 people and taking guys like Eric Trump and Donald Trump and Kimberly places and paying them money
00:55:23.220 to speak in front of, you know, his business cohorts and so on. And he ran for office in
00:55:29.300 Kentucky. He did not win. And he remained, it appears, somewhat close with Kimberly for years
00:55:35.080 because he's got reams of Snapchat messages, not Snapchat, Signal, you know, the supposedly
00:55:40.980 confidential messaging app, messaging between him, Eric Dieters, and Kimberly Gofoyle.
00:55:48.620 The Wall Street Journal of reporters who broke the story have attested that they
00:55:51.620 looked at the entire exchange on Signal on his phone and verified that it happened,
00:55:56.500 even though Kimberly reportedly told the Trump administration that those messages that helped
00:56:01.580 bring her down were AI. He alleged, just to quickly refresh you, that she wanted him to
00:56:09.000 spend $100,000 paying off some Amex bill of hers prior to her confirmation hearing
00:56:14.060 because it's not good to look like you're in a lot of debt when you've been nominated to an
00:56:18.900 ambassadorship. Generally, everybody who becomes an ambassador is filthy rich. Those positions
00:56:25.420 always go to one of the president's biggest donors who helped him win the campaign. And it's not all
00:56:32.460 just like a favor. It's largely a favor. But one of the reasons why they want you to be rich
00:56:36.500 is because, believe it or not, when you go over to these embassies, you're expected to entertain
00:56:41.020 and, you know, glad hand with dignitaries and, you know, make nice, nice with the Greek
00:56:46.920 political class in her case. But you are expected to do it all on your own dime.
00:56:53.880 It's actually pretty remarkable. They want you to be able to pay for it.
00:56:57.680 And for most of these guys, they're so rich. It's like a rounding error. They don't even notice
00:57:01.600 this, but Kimberly did not get the ambassadorship by being a very rich donor to President Trump.
00:57:07.040 She got it because she was breaking up with Don Jr. And clearly they wanted to ship her into
00:57:13.920 exile so that she would not be a problem for them. Literally, nobody thought she had qualifications
00:57:19.080 to make her a great Greek ambassador. But in her defense, few do. Few who go on to be ambassador
00:57:26.080 to wherever have some expertise in the local culture. Sometimes they do, but the norm is
00:57:32.420 the biggest donors get those posts. And if you're at the top of the donor list, you get the court of
00:57:38.300 St. James, you know, the UK one, you know, if you're next up, you get the one to Ireland,
00:57:43.780 et cetera. So Greece is a pretty good one. And it was obviously given to Kimberly because
00:57:48.840 the Trump family wanted to exile her. Whatever. It may not be a great reason, but I'm sure there
00:57:56.260 have been worse reasons for appointing people to ambassadorships. So she goes over to Greece
00:58:01.380 and the allegations are that rather than just being grateful for the position and realizing
00:58:06.400 this is like a great honor that she could really make something out of, that she grifted and that
00:58:11.500 she used the position to sort of get private jet air travel, very fancy hotel rooms, fancy dinners
00:58:20.200 all over Greece, cases of champagne and so on, paid for by others because she was this fancy
00:58:27.960 ambassador there on behalf of the United States, and that she wasn't looking to improve any
00:58:33.080 positions of ours over there, but only her own lifestyle. That's the allegation. She and her
00:58:38.420 lawyers deny this. But back to Dieters. He claims she asked him to make her look more financially
00:58:45.700 solvent prior to her confirmation hearings by depositing, not depositing, by paying off $100,000
00:58:52.160 of her Amex bill. And that he responded, I can't do that or my wife would divorce me. And there is
00:58:58.920 plenty of correspondence between the two of them reviewed by the Wall Street Journal that reportedly
00:59:02.720 has her saying, Eric, stop putting this stuff in writing. Why do you continue to paper the deal?
00:59:07.280 He reportedly offered her a million dollars if she could get him on Tucker's podcast because he's got his own complaint about some doctor he feels has defrauded and hurt a group of people and then fled to Pakistan.
00:59:23.760 And he really wants this doctor to be brought back to the United States.
00:59:27.980 I don't know what interest he has in this doctor and these people he's allegedly hurt, but it's definitely a major cause of Eric Dieter's.
00:59:35.180 So he reportedly offered Kimberly Guilfoyle a million dollars if she would get him on Tucker's podcast. Tucker told the New York Times or the Wall Street Journal, I don't know anything about it. A million dollars? No. Isn't this Don Jr.'s ex-girlfriend? No.
00:59:50.420 Anyway, Dieter's eventually got sick of being promised things by Kimberly, he says, and then she didn't deliver.
00:59:58.800 He also had some tax issues that he said, I need help with.
01:00:04.120 And she reportedly said, you know, make it worth my while.
01:00:06.880 I've got access to all these people in the administration.
01:00:09.220 And he seems to be claiming that that's why he gave her $300,000 in speaking fees, not because he really wanted her to speak at his events, but he wanted her to speak to the IRS commission or others to resolve some of his issues.
01:00:19.740 So look, none of that is ethical on her part if it happened, and some of it may be illegal.
01:00:24.720 She denies it all.
01:00:25.920 I'm just setting up the allegations for you.
01:00:28.200 So now Dieters is angry. 0.74
01:00:30.280 She's, you know, she's been brought down as the ambassador, and she's going to have a host of other problems to deal with as she's being investigated by the State Department IG, and it could potentially go beyond that.
01:00:40.260 He is still angry, and he is now suing Kimberly and her lawyers as well for defamation.
01:00:48.460 It's kind of the E. Jean Carroll move where she alleged Trump raped her.
01:00:53.080 Trump said, no, I didn't. 0.97
01:00:54.480 She sued him for defamation because he's effectively calling her a liar.
01:00:58.220 And she won a lot of money because then he doubled and tripled down.
01:01:02.680 That whole thing was so outrageous.
01:01:03.700 It's like you're not allowed to defend yourself if somebody sues you.
01:01:07.840 In any event, now Dieters is saying that Kimberly and her lawyers attacks on him because they went beyond denying his allegations.
01:01:15.480 They they attacked him. We're defamatory and he wants defamation damages. Well, that'll play out in civil court.
01:01:21.860 The unfortunate thing for Dieters and this whole thing is he muddied the waters by asking in his damages complaint and his complaint, his request for damages.
01:01:32.080 That this doctor be immediately returned to the United States as like the remedy, which just undermines the seriousness of this thing entirely.
01:01:40.120 no court is going to entertain, forcing the administration to compel some doctor.
01:01:46.180 He says it's like a PR play.
01:01:47.600 So I don't know how seriously we take this guy Dieters at all.
01:01:51.180 That's up to you.
01:01:52.080 But I will tell you that now he's claiming that a whistleblower over in Greece has come forward
01:01:58.340 to allege the problem with Kimberly was far worse than has been exposed yet.
01:02:04.740 And I asked my team who this man is.
01:02:07.760 His name is Jonathan Constantine.
01:02:10.120 He's on tape with Eric Dieters. Dieters released the interview late last week, and he claims to be the head of this Republican group over in Greece that he says, hold on a second, is like a GOP sort of fundraising advocacy group over there.
01:02:33.760 I want to make sure I don't misstate it. President of the Greek branch of Republicans Overseas. And he's got how many followers on X, did we say, or on social media, guys? Okay. So on Facebook, he's got 8,000 followers. That's not that many. I don't know anything about this guy. And this all needs to be taken with a grain of salt because we're not exactly sure who this Constantine is.
01:02:59.980 But he's on the record with Eric Dieters and says both the audio and later did a YouTube with him making some allegations about how deep this corruption alleged went.
01:03:14.060 We're going to listen to some of what he said.
01:03:16.600 This is SOT 15.
01:03:18.380 The gist of the story is that a said person came to Greece, and before she even arrived, she had set up a system for collecting bribes.
01:03:34.880 Wow!
01:03:35.380 She has received over $3 million in bribes through a person called Christos Marafazzos, who is a big scamster.
01:03:52.120 He is her bag man.
01:03:55.020 It's pretty much in the report.
01:03:57.600 Okay.
01:03:57.940 I'll just have to let you know that the report is a little bit dated.
01:04:02.760 It's from January.
01:04:05.380 Since that report was sent to the GOP and my superiors using the chain of command, I managed to secure an indictment for grand fraud for one of her associates, one of the people who bribed her.
01:04:28.200 So we do have a lot of material here. It's about 7,500 pages.
01:04:35.380 Okay, to be underscored again, there's no proof of this. He says he has proof of it. We have not seen that. It's already out there and it's making a lot of headlines.
01:04:44.500 This is what he claims, that millions of dollars with alleged ties, he adds, to CCP and or Iranian interests have been funneled, he alleges, to Guilfoyle through a guy whose name he mentioned there, Christos Marafatos, whom Constantine described as a close associate of hers and an intermediary in her dealings with business interests.
01:05:12.300 He alleged that Marafazzos developed a particularly close relationship with her after her appointment as ambassador, and he said that donations raised were deposited into a personal bank account.
01:05:28.060 Again, though, so far, he has not provided said supporting evidence publicly, though
01:05:32.380 he says he's tried.
01:05:33.320 In this conversation with Dieters, he says he's reached out to multiple people in the
01:05:38.460 press and the administration for months now and hasn't gotten any purchase whatsoever.
01:05:43.840 He says that there was a lobbying firm, Catalyst, which he claimed this guy Marafatos established
01:05:52.200 after Kimberly was appointed ambassador
01:05:55.180 and that that company functioned as a vehicle
01:05:57.620 for transferring funds to her,
01:06:00.360 describing this marifazos as a bag man
01:06:02.720 or intermediary for moving money
01:06:06.660 and says it was rather extensive.
01:06:10.740 Again, he's claiming that these are bribes effectively.
01:06:15.220 And he mentioned the IRGC and the CCP
01:06:17.620 saying she's done a lot of damage to US interests.
01:06:20.980 That's an allegation. Again, what is this? We have no idea whether this has any substantiation. And Kimberly, I mean, she's denied any and all wrongdoing whatsoever. He underscored it with the headline that's come out of this. It's everywhere. And it's Satin 18.
01:06:37.500 can i be blunt yeah always be blunt with me okay sir uh yesterday uh a couple of days ago a client
01:06:47.040 of mine and who's also a donor by the way we have a cap on uh donations here uh of two thousand
01:06:55.820 dollars the reason being that if somebody comes with too much money it means that they want
01:07:01.420 something which is usually immoral, illegal, or undoable, he said the following, Kimberly 0.98
01:07:08.040 Gale Foil can be summed up in three C's, and this is the blunt part, cunt, coke, and 0.99
01:07:17.800 cash. 0.99
01:07:19.000 All three were present.
01:07:22.980 You know, I've heard about substance abuse, so my guess is, so cocaine is the drug of
01:07:28.380 choice, huh?
01:07:28.980 Yes, sir. And we know who supplied it, when it was, because we, unfortunately for her, the staff of the embassy talks to us. Reason being that my DP used to be 25 years personal director in the embassy. So I know it all.
01:07:48.060 Okay. Both men better be damn sure that that's true. Because if I were Kimberly Guilfoyle and
01:07:56.080 someone said that about me, I would sue them immediately. Immediately. I mean, the first
01:08:03.540 C is just a pejorative and a general smear that is not exactly defamatory. Somebody's basically
01:08:09.060 like, you're a Nazi. You can't sue them for that. It's like general rhetoric. That's very
01:08:14.220 unflattering and untrue in many cases, but you can't sue over something like that. And just
01:08:20.060 calling somebody the C word is the same. But alleging she does drugs, absolutely. If somebody 0.71
01:08:26.680 ever alleged that about me, I would sue their asses so fast because I've never done drugs, 0.99
01:08:30.320 no drugs. And it would be fun. It would actually be really fun to sue their asses and see 0.99
01:08:35.680 who their witnesses were. And then there's the third allegation, which is basically bribery, 0.99
01:08:41.200 the cash thing. We've gone through some of those allegations, all of which she's denied,
01:08:45.880 but which, unlike the other, you know, first two, which would revolve around, again, the one's not
01:08:50.680 suable, the second one would be provable potentially with a witness. But the third one,
01:08:55.420 that's knowable, whether she took bribes, whether she was doing her bidding versus ours
01:09:00.740 while ambassador to Greece. And honestly, you know, we should know because that's completely
01:09:07.600 unethical, if that's what happened. I have to be honest, though. I do wonder
01:09:13.760 why so much focus on Kimberly Guilfoyle? Because have these other ambassadors,
01:09:21.100 like the ones who were there for Joe Biden, have they been so squeaky clean? I really wonder.
01:09:27.120 And like, who are the staff in these embassies? And do they have political leanings one way or
01:09:32.980 another? Like, that's another question I'd like to know. So I really hope that if this is false,
01:09:39.240 she does fight it and has the chance to offer her side. I've got my concerns. I've got to be honest
01:09:48.580 about her behavior. I do. And I've got my reasons for those concerns. Tim Dillon has a humorous
01:09:56.740 take on it. And he, you know, he does it like nobody else can. He had me hysterical on his
01:10:01.480 show over the weekend. Not, not about this, but just about so many things, some of which we're
01:10:05.280 going to play for you as the week goes on. But, um, he, okay, let's see. Here's, here's thought
01:10:13.060 22. What are you supposed to do in Greece? Not get on jets with Greek businessmen? What did they
01:10:20.160 think you were there to do? Learn about the history of Athens? Like you're there. She was
01:10:26.100 there to do exactly what she did scam and throw the pussy so why is this such a big deal 0.99
01:10:34.600 these allegations are false and i intend to vigorously defend my name my reputation and 0.98
01:10:42.260 my integrity now what's great about these people is even as that statement is drafted
01:10:48.200 the the greatest thing about somebody like her what makes these people so fun is they know that
01:10:53.540 they get it the people i'm talking about the people in and around this administration this
01:11:01.000 roving band of narcissists even as that statement is released there she knows
01:11:08.720 that the reputation is in tatters and the integrity is a foreign concept to her it's
01:11:14.400 nothing integrity has never made her a dollar listen to the next thing because the next thing
01:11:19.640 is one of the funniest lines and you can tell she didn't write it but someone wrote it because they
01:11:24.540 all hire people to write things like this and this is one of the funniest things i have ever
01:11:28.700 heard in my life i have dedicated my professional life to fighting for justice standing up for what
01:11:36.200 is right and defending the values that make america exceptional i mean kimberly
01:11:42.460 Kimberly we're laying it on a little thick aren't we I have dedicated my professional life
01:11:51.860 to fighting for just by the way I mean to say you've had a professional life is a little bit
01:11:58.760 of a stretch you've you've certainly had a life where you you know we know who you are
01:12:04.760 professionals is a loose term but this idea that she's fighting for justice in fact what
01:12:12.260 makes her probably a lot of fun at a dinner is that she wouldn't even know what any of those
01:12:18.020 words mean none of them would so i have some thoughts on that i love tim and he's hysterical 0.99
01:12:23.780 but here's the thing about kimberly she she did she she did have a commitment to justice when 0.58
01:12:31.080 she went to law school and she was a young da in san francisco and started working for court tv
01:12:38.640 and was making a name for herself.
01:12:40.640 And then she was married to Gavin Newsom.
01:12:43.100 That didn't work out for various reasons.
01:12:44.620 And then she came to Fox News.
01:12:46.480 And I think she was earnest
01:12:48.340 and I think she really wanted to do well
01:12:51.100 in the journalism field, not journalism exactly,
01:12:53.340 but commentary in her case.
01:12:55.760 She was never a straight news reporter.
01:12:57.140 She was a commentator and a legal analyst.
01:13:02.260 But I do think for some people,
01:13:04.860 and I just think sometimes that industry
01:13:07.600 can be corrupting itself,
01:13:09.620 separate and apart from politics.
01:13:11.240 I just think it's tough.
01:13:13.980 Like any business that requires on-camera work
01:13:17.280 and that develops some level of like potential fame,
01:13:21.560 God, you need a very, very solid foundation
01:13:23.540 to handle it well.
01:13:24.840 Or you can get drunk on your own wine.
01:13:27.300 You can lose your moral tether.
01:13:29.000 You can start making compromised decisions.
01:13:31.320 You can start forgetting your ethical foundation,
01:13:34.720 especially if you immerse yourself around politicians or with politicians who tend to
01:13:41.320 have the loosest tether whatsoever uh to ethics unfortunately that's just a reality in our
01:13:47.020 country never mind others and um it can be corrupting so you know time will tell a trial
01:13:54.840 will tell an investigation will tell whether that happened to her but i'll say this she and i had
01:14:00.280 our ups and downs around the Roger Ailes fall. But eventually, you know, you work with somebody
01:14:09.740 for long enough and you let bygones be bygones and you're rooting for them. And that's the
01:14:14.100 position I was in with Kimberly when she left Fox. I mean, it wasn't a good departure. And she
01:14:20.200 managed to sort of parlay it into a, I'm not in the midst of scandal here. I'm leaving to go be
01:14:26.160 with Don Jr., which wasn't really the story, but she went with Don Jr. and he was with her for some
01:14:31.780 time. I'm not going to speak for their relationship. Um, and then, as I said, she managed to parlay
01:14:37.980 that new and ambassadorship and I was rooting for her. And, um, and she lost her mother at a very
01:14:43.900 young age. I think, I think Kimberly, I think she's a complicated person, but I know many people
01:14:53.260 who tell you she's got a heart of gold. 0.92
01:14:54.780 I know she's being painted as an absolute villain 1.00
01:14:56.620 in all the papers right now.
01:14:58.140 But like, I know somebody who is a mutual friend of ours
01:15:01.040 who absolutely loves her
01:15:02.400 and who has been treated nothing but beautifully by her.
01:15:06.000 And I'm sure whose heart is hurting
01:15:07.500 watching all this terrible news.
01:15:09.180 So anyway, it's complicated, right?
01:15:12.880 Like my therapist says, it's complicated
01:15:14.700 whenever we talk about difficult issues or people.
01:15:17.120 So that's my thought for that for now.
01:15:20.220 Katie Zacharia, she's also still in the news
01:15:22.700 because we're hearing a few more details about how she was brought down after five days as White
01:15:28.140 House press secretary. And the reports are pretty universal that it was Susie Wiles who set her up
01:15:34.780 to fail, which Susie Wiles and the White House deny. But the report is that Susie Wiles did not
01:15:40.240 bless this appointment, that it was President Trump who chose Katie as his new press secretary,
01:15:45.000 that Susie Wiles wasn't actually there, and that she kind of said, all right, fine, because the
01:15:49.900 press secretary, essentially works for the president as his spokesman. And, you know,
01:15:54.900 it was Trump's call. Well, Suzy Wiles is a very savvy woman, and it didn't take her long to see
01:15:59.640 that Katie really wasn't ready for primetime. And the reports are in Politico and elsewhere
01:16:04.720 that it was Suzy Wiles who helped Katie's appearance on Fox News Thursday night with
01:16:12.180 Sean Hannity happen, according to two people familiar with the internal dynamics. You know,
01:16:18.580 within less than 24 hours, she would, she would be fired from the role. Um, Sean Hannity gave her 0.83
01:16:25.880 appointed examination. He did not go easy on her and she did not do particularly well. Um,
01:16:31.980 there was this question and answer here in SOT 26. What I feel is I really stepped up and to the
01:16:40.100 plate to do the press conference. Sean, with very little prep time, I received materials in the
01:16:45.360 morning of Tuesday, and I went to deliver all of the great results that President Trump is
01:16:52.420 delivering for the American people that are not often spread in the national media. So I took it
01:16:57.800 as an opportunity so people would know what he's doing for Americans and how hard he's working.
01:17:04.400 And then I delivered some breaking news. I think I'm one of the first press secretaries to deliver
01:17:09.880 staff changes for the administration. And I was honored that President Trump trusted me
01:17:16.240 delivering that information. And then I took several questions. And I think it's been mixed,
01:17:21.820 Sean, because they've said I only took questions from conservative outlets. However, the Daily
01:17:27.620 Mail is not known to be a conservative outlet or friendly to conservatives. So I do challenge that
01:17:33.340 narrative. Yes, it is. OK, so actually, that's not true. Daily Mail is fair to conservatives.
01:17:38.640 I mean, they, they dump on everybody, but they're not, they're not a leftist rag.
01:17:42.740 You could say that about the Daily Beast, but not the Daily Mail.
01:17:47.080 And this was why, you know, basically like, how do you think your briefing went?
01:17:52.060 And it was like, well, I'm the first one to deliver news about an administration change.
01:17:56.960 I mean, you know, what can you say?
01:18:00.340 That did not go well.
01:18:01.640 And none of the Q&A between the two of them went well.
01:18:04.300 Here was another one about why she was calling herself a lawyer when she never passed the
01:18:10.460 bar exam.
01:18:11.340 So 27.
01:18:12.920 Why not just say I went to Pepperdine Law School and then took a different career path
01:18:16.820 and I took the bar once and didn't pass it.
01:18:19.920 Why get into this long, drawn out definition between the difference between a lawyer and
01:18:24.180 an attorney?
01:18:25.100 Because I don't think most people see much of a distinction.
01:18:27.740 Why didn't you just say I never practiced law?
01:18:31.080 Well, Sean, when I moved back from the United States, I didn't retake the bar.
01:18:35.760 I had four kids in six years.
01:18:37.180 It was never my intent to go into the practice of law.
01:18:40.300 When I went to go engage in media and give legal analysis, I consulted attorneys and
01:18:46.400 legal professionals as to whether or not they agreed that I could be labeled a lawyer, both
01:18:51.360 because I had a valid jurist doctor from a good law school, a reputable law school, Pepperdine
01:18:56.500 law school. And in conjunction with the fact that I did have actual substantive legal experience,
01:19:02.200 I wasn't providing any legal analysis, Sean, or excuse me, legal advice. I wasn't being paid for
01:19:08.260 legal advice. I was giving a general review of the legal circumstances surrounding it.
01:19:15.300 Okay. I mean, every lawyer knows that you don't hold yourself out as a lawyer, an attorney,
01:19:20.180 whatever you want to call yourself, unless you've passed the bar exam and you actually are
01:19:23.620 practicing law or have practiced law, and she never had. And the problem for Katie Zakaria is
01:19:30.140 President Trump appears to have been fooled by this line. He believed she was an attorney and
01:19:35.020 described her as one and then looked silly. And the other piece of her downfall was the over-the-top 0.97
01:19:41.540 sycophancy. It was too much. It was too much. I mean, honestly, I felt like we were in Russia.
01:19:48.860 If you go over to Russia, like one of the reasons why when I went over there and had very contentious
01:19:53.380 exchanges with President Putin, it made so much news is because you almost never see that.
01:19:57.920 And the reason you never see that is because journalists have been killed in Russia and
01:20:01.660 the president controls the press corps over there. That's what Pravda is, controlled media.
01:20:07.660 And truly, if you ever watch Russian journalists, it's over the top fawning about how amazing
01:20:15.500 Vladimir Putin is. That's what media is over there. And that is how she sounded. Even as
01:20:22.500 she was leaving the administration, she came out with, President Trump is a kind, wonderful,
01:20:30.540 gracious, thoughtful, enthusiastic, and the most hardworking man. I wish more Americans
01:20:36.520 appreciated him. No one will ever make America great the way he has and continues to, and so on.
01:20:42.340 Like, it was just too much. And I think, while the president, I'm sure, loved hearing it,
01:20:48.940 he is too savvy to not clue in to how it undermined her credibility. You know, it's like even those of
01:20:59.140 us who are very open minded to President Trump's policies were like, oh, my God, this is like just
01:21:03.920 I'm embarrassed. Please stop that. Please stop that. So she had to go. By the way, it was Axios
01:21:09.980 that reported that Susie Wiles was not the one who made the decision that Trump told her about the
01:21:17.640 decision. They also reported that Trump wanted to hire Maria Bartiromo for the job, but she
01:21:22.760 signaled she was not interested. And they also reported that this was a solely Trump decision
01:21:29.260 with the strong input of his personal assistant, Natalie Harp. I'm not going to lie. I think Katie
01:21:34.920 Zakaria, she could do another job. I'm sure she is loyal to Trump. You know, she seems like she'd
01:21:39.700 be good in that Natalie Harp position, frankly, where you're just blindly loyal to the president.
01:21:42.900 you do whatever he tells you. But I'm surprised that Trump made the pick because he's normally
01:21:50.220 extremely smart when it comes to a pick like this. He's normally spot on and he can see from a mile
01:21:56.140 away who will work well on television, which is really what this job is and who can handle an
01:22:01.120 aggressive, nasty media and who can't. And this just seems to have been a misfire and a rare one
01:22:08.040 for him for this particular role.
01:22:10.180 I mean, you know, you can make mistakes
01:22:11.800 when it comes to administration officials.
01:22:13.820 Like, I'm sure Trump didn't necessarily
01:22:15.620 have really strong feelings
01:22:16.780 on who should run the Interior Department,
01:22:18.880 but like this press secretary,
01:22:21.640 has there been a more media-obsessed president
01:22:23.740 than Donald Trump?
01:22:25.040 So I'm surprised.
01:22:27.800 I know she looks the part, if you will,
01:22:30.080 like sort of a Fox News personality.
01:22:31.580 That's not enough, and he knows that.
01:22:34.000 He knows that.
01:22:34.720 He knows the difference between someone who's attractive
01:22:36.860 and someone who's got what it takes 0.64
01:22:40.020 to spar with the disgusting, toxic, nasty media all day. 0.62
01:22:44.100 You know, that was the beauty of Caroline Leavitt. 0.81
01:22:46.120 She had both, Kayleigh McEnany, both, you know?
01:22:49.100 So, and by the way, they have not all been blonde.
01:22:52.440 As I heard my pals say the other day, 0.94
01:22:54.700 there was Sarah Huckabee Sanders. 1.00
01:22:56.700 And she didn't look like a Fox News anchor, 1.00
01:22:58.880 but she sparred and was very strong 1.00
01:23:01.620 during the first Trump administration.
01:23:03.440 So I really hope that they find somebody
01:23:06.520 who can do both of those things.
01:23:07.840 I don't care whether they look good.
01:23:09.300 I mean, they need to be like somewhat decent looking
01:23:11.980 just because it's television as a visual medium.
01:23:14.740 You know, you don't take very homely people
01:23:16.600 and put them out as your spokesperson.
01:23:18.240 I just don't, I don't think you should.
01:23:19.900 And I know Donald Trump doesn't think you should.
01:23:22.080 And, but somebody who can spar,
01:23:24.580 like we want to see contentious exchanges.
01:23:27.180 We want to see the press secretary 0.98
01:23:28.940 put the press in their place.
01:23:30.620 And we don't want to see somebody who's up there
01:23:32.780 like a scared doe-eyed deer, afraid of the media
01:23:35.360 and clearly incapable of handling their meanest barbs, right?
01:23:39.800 So hopefully that's a very short chapter.
01:23:42.920 We'll get past it and we'll do better on the next selection. 0.95
01:23:47.040 I do wonder how Caroline Levitt saw the whole last week. 0.93
01:23:50.360 I'm sure it was, I don't know, when you leave a job like she did
01:23:54.360 to go spend more time with her child, second child, both children,
01:23:58.260 are you totally rooting for your successor
01:24:01.560 or is there a small smidgen of satisfaction
01:24:03.860 when it doesn't work out for the next person.
01:24:06.740 Don't know.
01:24:07.580 Caroline's so sweet. 0.97
01:24:08.440 She probably was genuinely rooting for her.
01:24:10.620 Okay, we're gonna take a quick break
01:24:12.460 and then we will be right back with the nightmare
01:24:15.160 that was the Victoria's Secret runway show.
01:24:20.020 Imagine this, you're surrounded by fellow fans
01:24:23.140 sharing wings, sharing drinks,
01:24:25.260 high-fiving random strangers.
01:24:27.100 Everybody remembers the game,
01:24:28.820 but no one remembers the guy coughing up a lung behind you.
01:24:31.920 that is until a few days later at 2 a.m. when you wake up with a fever and your throat is on fire.
01:24:36.780 Now what? Urgent care? It's closed. ER? Slammed. Telehealth? All right, but the pharmacy's closed.
01:24:43.980 That's where a medical emergency kit from the wellness company could come in very handy.
01:24:48.940 These are not first aid kits. They contain essential prescriptions used for over 30 common
01:24:54.420 conditions, sinus and ear infections, UTIs, stomach bugs, traveler's diarrhea, and more

01:27:27.340 No BS news only on the Megyn Kelly channel, Sirius XM 111 and on the Sirius XM app.
01:27:37.820 Victoria's Secret back in the news today.
01:27:41.280 They've brought back the Angel Runway show.
01:27:45.960 Great. 0.99
01:27:46.940 I think most of us are happy if they're going to do anything that it has, you know, sexy women walking in it as opposed to where we were in 2021. 1.00
01:27:55.980 One, when their so-called angel campaign looked like something that Nicole Hannah Jones had put together as an example of female empowerment. 0.64
01:28:05.140 It was all about diversity and embracing, you know, chubby bodies as like the new sexy. 0.56
01:28:13.740 It was like, how many United Colors of Benetton can we get into everything we put out there? 0.94
01:28:20.060 and we need to see, you know, obese models
01:28:22.920 in order to sell our brand, 1.00
01:28:25.280 which had always, in the case of Victoria's Secret,
01:28:27.780 resorted to sex appeal,
01:28:29.500 but they didn't think they could be sexy anymore 0.96
01:28:31.820 with, you know, white women or thin ones. 0.93
01:28:35.480 So thankfully we got past that. 1.00
01:28:37.840 It's fine to have diverse models, 0.96
01:28:39.580 but like the notion that we have to have obese angels 0.97
01:28:42.680 at the Victoria's Secret fashion show
01:28:45.000 or as the face of the brand was absurd from the start
01:28:49.020 and remains so.
01:28:50.060 there is a reason they moved past that. Now, they do their runway show, and the girls have 1.00
01:28:57.460 the wings on. Okay, that's fine. The Hadid sisters there, I don't know, one of them's there. I can 1.00
01:29:03.200 never keep track. Those are the two reality TV show daughters. Their mother's a real housewife, 0.99
01:29:08.140 and we watched them go through, you know, what appeared to be a lot of plastic surgery on their
01:29:12.560 way toward becoming supermodels. They're Kardashian-esque, these two girls, Bella and
01:29:17.700 the other one, Gigi, whatever. They landed the plane. Things are going well for them. Congrats.
01:29:25.280 And then we saw something called the fantasy bra. Now you probably don't know anything about the
01:29:30.440 fantasy bra because you're a normal person leading your life like yours truly. But I saw this buzz 0.91
01:29:35.780 about it online and I took a deep dive into what the hell this thing is. Well, it's basically
01:29:42.620 something Kelly Clarkson is two days away from demanding she own. It is a $50 million creation
01:29:50.000 by Jacob Arabo of Jake and Co. featuring a 75-carat vivid yellow diamond amid 4,410
01:30:01.000 white diamonds. And it's stunning. It's like a bustier made out of diamonds. And to wear it,
01:30:08.600 I'll show it to you in one second, not yet. But to wear it, you normally have to be the biggest name at the Victoria's Secret fashion show. Years ago, it was Tyra Banks, Heidi Klum, Giselle was the one who really made it famous. And since then, it's been like household names in the modeling world who have worn the so-called fantasy bra.
01:30:33.580 This year, there was a question of who would wear it.
01:30:36.280 And people were excited to find out. 0.98
01:30:38.020 Claudia Schiffer, one of the original supermodels.
01:30:40.780 And there was quite a bit of consternation when it turned out the person with the honor was Kylie Jenner.
01:30:51.080 Good Lord.
01:30:53.040 Kylie Jenner came out with the angel wings and the fantasy bra.
01:30:58.420 And the fantasy body and face because none of that is real.
01:31:02.380 I mean, none of this is real. We saw Kylie Jenner grow up. I'm sorry, but like not at the top of the most attractive on the list of Kardashian Jenners and like the lips. She really had none when she was a child.
01:31:17.280 Now they are Angelina Jolie-esque in size, as are the breasts, as is the bottom. 0.61
01:31:25.040 And Timothee Chalamet, her obviously gay boyfriend, was sitting in the front row. 0.90
01:31:32.200 You know, I don't know that he's gay, but he's a feat. 0.99
01:31:34.280 He is so a feat. 1.00
01:31:35.400 I cannot imagine allowing that thing on top of you.
01:31:38.140 I just feel like he wouldn't know what to do.
01:31:39.940 cheering her on from the front row,
01:31:42.860 along with the momager,
01:31:44.780 Kris Jenner,
01:31:46.020 who is there going along
01:31:47.620 with the whole farce
01:31:49.280 that this daughter, too,
01:31:51.420 is somehow like a supermodel,
01:31:53.540 whereas only Kendall Jenner is. 0.98
01:31:56.100 She's tall. 1.00
01:31:57.160 She's got no body fat. 1.00
01:31:58.600 She's stunning. 1.00
01:32:00.100 And, you know,
01:32:01.460 the Kylie Jenner thing, 0.99
01:32:02.720 they continue to try to make happen
01:32:05.340 with, like, the saucy pictures, 1.00
01:32:07.700 And now she's got a strut out there in the bra.
01:32:11.420 A lot of people were melting down about this online, like genuinely pissed off that they continue to have her shoved down our throats and we're supposed to celebrate her as something close to a supermodel.
01:32:25.120 Now, I will say at least she's a woman, which is more than I can say for Alex Consani, who walked the runway as well at the Victoria Fashion Show.
01:32:38.860 You might be confused if you saw Alex because he very much looks like a woman, but he's not.
01:32:45.100 This is a man, of course, he has legs from here to eternity, because a lot of men have a natural height advantage over actual women, and they do grow to be 6'3", something like that, with legs that look like a California redwood. 0.82
01:33:03.160 In his case, not only are they incredibly long, but they are incredibly lean, because men also do not have the natural distribution of body fat on their inner thighs and bottoms the way women do. 0.58
01:33:13.780 And there was something that stood out about that so-called angel because the best ones do have curves.
01:33:21.840 That's actually something that Victoria's Secret has prided itself on and not picking the most lean, obscene models over the years, but getting ones that do have some natural body fat, which men like. 1.00
01:33:35.820 They like that. 0.95
01:33:36.920 Men don't like anorexic figures.
01:33:38.860 If you look at all the surveys, they say that they like somebody who's a little bit more full-bodied, frankly, like Kylie Jenner, but an actual star or an actual model, you know, somebody who hadn't just gotten ahead thanks to their mother's nonstop pimping out of them and their family members.
01:33:54.840 Anyway, so this is a man who wants you to know that he, quote, never wants to be seen as a trans woman.
01:34:02.640 He, quote, wants to be seen as a woman. 0.93
01:34:06.200 You have to drop the trans thing.
01:34:08.260 You see, you're not allowed to refer to him as he or as a trans person, but as an actual woman, because he feels diminished when you point out that he's actually a man.
01:34:19.400 But I remember the day when the Victoria's Secret brand and fashion shows were for actual women, trying to market to actual women, and I miss them.
01:34:31.740 Now, not to be outdone by the nonsense that was parading online around this thing, the New York Times felt the need to weigh in.
01:34:38.100 And their fashion critic, Vanessa Friedman, had thoughts on what we saw, writing about how the angels were revealing just how much we have reverted to pre-Me Too definitions of sexy and how little change has actually occurred despite all of the soul searching and existential crises of the early 2020s about how a brand that put women on display like dream dolls of the bedroom may have contributed to a culture.
01:35:08.100 of sexual harassment and abuse.
01:35:11.980 Now, I hate to tell you, Vanessa,
01:35:14.960 but what you are suggesting is that 0.96
01:35:17.100 what a woman wears leads to sexual abuse, 0.91
01:35:21.360 which is an old trope I thought we got rid of, Vanessa, 1.00
01:35:26.120 a long, long time ago,
01:35:27.720 that it didn't really matter how short your skirt was
01:35:30.320 or saucy your lingerie was,
01:35:32.260 you weren't asking for it,
01:35:34.340 that you parading around in sexy lingerie 0.99
01:35:37.220 had nothing to do with whether you were going to get sexually assaulted or raped. 0.82
01:35:40.700 So I don't know what you're saying that the outfits that they were wearing, 0.99
01:35:47.620 dressing women like dream dolls of the bedroom,
01:35:50.380 may have contributed to a culture of sexual harassment and abuse.
01:35:54.920 Hello, Human Resources at the New York Times.
01:35:57.700 I think you got a live, we got a live one.
01:36:00.500 You got some problems going on over in the fashion department
01:36:03.460 with a sexist head writer in your fashion department.
01:36:08.820 This is a problem. 1.00
01:36:10.200 Now, she tries to couch it a bit later
01:36:14.360 by lamenting the Cornell 7
01:36:16.820 and its connection to this fashion show.
01:36:19.100 We'll get there in a second.
01:36:19.940 But first, she writes the following,
01:36:23.100 that after all, Victoria's Secret may position the show
01:36:25.840 as an expression of self-confidence and joy.
01:36:30.040 The chief executive, Hillary Super and Adam Selman,
01:36:32.880 the creative director, may talk about giving women ownership of their bodies, but there's 0.99
01:36:38.260 no getting away from the reality that the Victoria's Secret show is perpetuating a very 0.99
01:36:42.760 specific Vargas girl playboy tradition of sexy. Vargas being this artist that pictured women in 0.98
01:36:50.820 like pinups as pinups, you know, like playboy style, like all about the sex appeal. Okay. So
01:36:56.300 she's upset that there's no getting away from the reality that Victoria's Secret and its show
01:37:02.220 perpetuates this playboy tradition of sexy.
01:37:06.160 Then she writes, one that is all about the legs 1.00
01:37:09.260 and the boobs and the bottom.
01:37:11.840 What's it supposed to be about?
01:37:13.140 The IQ?
01:37:14.320 The number of library books they've taken out?
01:37:16.780 I'm sorry, but those two things don't always go together.
01:37:20.520 And if forced to choose,
01:37:22.040 I think Victoria's Secret has made the right choice. 0.97
01:37:25.100 When trying to sell the sexy lingerie 1.00
01:37:27.300 that makes a woman feel more sexy 1.00
01:37:29.720 and frankly might get her in the move 0.98
01:37:31.460 for actual sex, they went with the incredibly stunning, mostly actual women who remind women 1.00
01:37:39.680 what sex appeal can look like. And telling me what the woman's IQ is or how fast a typist she 1.00
01:37:46.680 may be doesn't have the same effect on me or most women or most men. What is she talking about? 0.99
01:37:55.640 Like, we're only going to have a Victoria's Secret show with Mensa members from now on. 0.99
01:37:59.440 the boobs, the bottoms, and the legs. Oh, heaven forbid. We should be featuring their wrists 0.95
01:38:06.880 and their cankles. She won't be happy until that's what's trying to sell the sexy lingerie. 1.00
01:38:16.380 Just the absurdity of it. Like she's really just putting little tokens into her woke bank so she 0.99
01:38:23.080 can get plaudits and pats on the back. Here's Vanessa, by the way. All right. So maybe we know
01:38:27.960 why she's so upset about them going with beauty for the fashion show. Okay, she keeps going to 0.94
01:38:34.800 maybe the whole bustier and knickers babe look is most women's dream as it clearly was most men's 0.78
01:38:42.180 by reverting to these old gender stereotypes. Victoria's Secret is reverting to a time when
01:38:47.080 sexy was defined by the male gaze and catering to it. Okay, what men find sexy on a woman, 0.98
01:38:56.760 most women do too. If you are trying to look sexy, most women will not don a burka or a snow parka 0.99
01:39:05.320 that covers your whole body. When Valentine's Day rolls around, tends to be the time most of us put
01:39:11.320 on the sexy lingerie that our husbands or boyfriends have bought us in the hopes that
01:39:15.440 we'll give them a present on said day. And we understand that they like to look at us in that
01:39:20.780 outfit and that we tend to feel sexier when we put that stuff on. That's not something that you do
01:39:26.300 every day necessarily, but like when you're looking to feel a little saucy, few of us cover
01:39:31.840 ourselves head to toe in puffy outerwear. So I don't like, I don't know what Vanessa's doing
01:39:38.020 when it's time, but this is a little, well, willfully blind, you could say. And then here's
01:39:43.500 the capper. Or maybe what this is about is a nostalgia for a time when we could pretend
01:39:50.320 that this way of presenting women was just lighthearted fun and didn't contribute directly 0.69
01:39:55.480 to a culture that enabled their objectification
01:39:59.020 and depersonalization,
01:40:01.580 even though we know that such a time
01:40:03.520 is as much a fantasy as the fantasy bra.
01:40:07.000 Watching the Victoria's Secret show
01:40:08.980 after the national conversation
01:40:10.940 prompted by the crisis at Cornell
01:40:12.920 is a bit like entering the Twilight Zone.
01:40:16.880 So you can't watch the Victoria's Secret fashion show
01:40:22.140 because we're having a conversation
01:40:23.700 about gang rape at Cornell,
01:40:26.780 which shows that Vanessa is misguided on a number of fronts.
01:40:31.580 She's been reading too much of her paper's front page 0.87
01:40:34.360 and not casting her news net wide enough.
01:40:38.380 But once again, we have to prompt the discussion 1.00
01:40:41.340 about the sexualization of women, 0.99
01:40:43.380 allowing women to feel sexy
01:40:45.440 as contributing to what happened at Cornell University, 1.00
01:40:49.200 that it would be so boneheaded to do this
01:40:51.140 in the wake of what's happening at Cornell,
01:40:52.280 Which leads me back to point one. It doesn't matter what the Victoria's Secret models are wearing. It doesn't matter what Jane Doe was wearing. If she were, in fact, sexually assaulted, it had nothing to do with that, Vanessa. 0.99
01:41:06.760 And we shouldn't be chastising women who want to look or feel sexy, who wind up as victims, which she may not realize she's doing, but she's doing.
01:41:15.680 However, the Jane Doe alleged gang rape was nothing of the sort. 0.96
01:41:19.820 She had a gang bang that she was only too happy to join in with actual affirmative out loud yeses because that seemed to be her preference.
01:41:30.420 And it didn't happen because of anything Jane Doe was wearing.
01:41:33.380 No one even knows what she was wearing.
01:41:34.880 I haven't seen that in any of the materials discussed around this case.
01:41:39.240 It happened because she thought that attitudes around sex and sexuality are changing. 0.99
01:41:45.680 And I'm just super open-minded and, unfortunately, a slut, teehee, as she told her sorority sister. 0.99
01:41:54.560 So once again, the left wing misses the mark. 0.98
01:41:57.900 This is their chief fashion critic. 0.98
01:41:59.700 This is like the woman whose pen they pay the most for when it comes to interpreting fashion.
01:42:03.960 and it's wrong from front to back.
01:42:08.220 She's gotten the whole thing wrong.
01:42:09.700 What's sexy, what matters, 1.00
01:42:11.540 what makes women feel sexy about themselves 0.88
01:42:13.360 and how somehow allowing women to lean into 1.00
01:42:17.460 showing off their body parts
01:42:18.860 in an appropriate setting, by the way.
01:42:20.460 This is not like somebody who showed up 0.99
01:42:22.220 at the inauguration showing off her boobs, Lauren. 0.72
01:42:25.880 This is like at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. 0.98
01:42:30.560 That's exactly the place you should be wearing this stuff,
01:42:32.320 showing women what they could buy, what they could wear as we get a little closer to Christmas
01:42:39.140 and Valentine's Day. But she wants to suggest doing it encourages rape and encourages things 1.00
01:42:46.300 like the Cornell 7 and is a backwards move from a brand whose business is underwear. 0.85
01:42:52.460 Okay, that's it for today. Let me know your thoughts. It's Megan at MeganKelley.com.
01:42:58.340 Look forward to seeing you with more tomorrow when the gang from Ruthless will be back.
01:43:04.840 We're very excited to talk to them.
01:43:07.360 The last time they were supposed to come on, we wound up doing all legal, so we couldn't
01:43:10.240 use them, but they are back and we have lots of politics and culture to go over with them.
01:43:15.660 Can't wait to do that together.
01:43:17.020 All right.
01:43:17.280 So we will see you tomorrow.
01:43:18.240 Send me that email and go to MeganKelley.com.
01:43:21.200 In the meantime, there you can sign up for our once a week email coming your way on Fridays.
01:43:25.560 See you then. 0.55
01:43:25.880 Thanks for listening to The Megyn Kelly Show. No BS, no agenda, and no fear.
01:43:55.880 We do money differently by providing advice that actually fits you.
