00:01:00.740 Welcome to The Megyn Kelly Show, live on Sirius XM Channel 111 every weekday at New East.
00:01:12.440 Hey, everyone, I'm Megyn Kelly.
00:01:14.120 Welcome to The Megyn Kelly Show, and happy Wednesday.
00:01:16.160 Lots to get to today, including updates into the investigation of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. 1.00
00:01:21.600 Could this woman get deported? 1.00
00:01:23.320 I mean, I think there's an actual chance that she could be stripped of her citizenship and deported.
00:01:31.220 Like, this is getting really interesting.
00:01:34.400 We've told you about the federal raid on her D.C. residence on Monday, reportedly related to Omar's immigration paperwork.
00:01:41.320 Now, that can encompass a number of issues with her.
00:01:44.220 There are a bunch of problems, as it appears, with her immigration paperwork.
00:01:50.000 She came to the United States at the age of 12 as a refugee from Somalia.
00:01:54.960 The New York Times reported yesterday that members of her family, including her sister, have received subpoenas from the Justice Department.
00:02:04.200 And it is possible that others were subjected to raids as well.
00:02:10.240 More on that in a second.
00:02:11.040 We are learning that the feds are also investigating Ilhan Omar's financial disclosures in her role as a congresswoman, which you may recall she's had to restate now a couple of times because the husband, Tim Minette, has this wine business that went from like it made $50,000 in 2023 to suddenly it was up to $30 million within a year.
00:02:36.640 And then shortly after that was revealed and she came under scrutiny, she revised the $30 million downward to like $18,000.
00:02:46.180 So when the income is controversial, it just disappears.
00:02:50.480 They said, oh, well, we added the liabilities to it.
00:02:52.420 Well, all of this stinks.
00:02:54.340 It stinks to high heaven. 0.84
00:02:55.680 And it appears all of this may be under the microscope.
00:02:59.060 Now, the warrant that was used to go search her D.C. home specifically, at least reportedly, I haven't seen it with my own eyes, references some immigration concern.
00:03:10.740 So that would not necessarily be the financial disclosures in any funny business that may or may not have happened there.
00:03:19.140 It could have been any one of a number of issues on the immigration front, which some of which we've been going over this week.
00:03:24.640 And we've got more information on a few of them.
00:03:27.740 What's going to happen next?
00:03:28.820 Well, the prediction market, Kalshi, over there, there is now a 39% chance of Representative Omar getting charged with a federal crime before the end of 2026.
00:03:39.160 I mean, that's two months away.
00:03:42.900 Traders are driving that up because it was at just 9% one week ago.
00:03:47.960 That was before the raids.
00:03:49.680 By the way, give our sponsor, Kalshi, a try if you like by using code MEGAN KELLY, or you can click the link in our description.
00:03:54.300 All new users get $25 free to trade with when they trade $25. 0.94
00:04:00.280 Also, more Kimberly Guilfoyle drama emerges after she was forced out of her ambassadorship
00:04:05.800 to Greece.
00:04:07.320 We will tell you why there are some allies to the president who are now reportedly very
00:04:12.520 worried about whether she is going to seek revenge.
00:04:16.220 Joining me now are pals from the Real Clear Politics show and site, Tom Bevan.
00:04:22.240 He's the co-founder and president of RCP.
00:04:25.160 Carl Cannon, he's the Washington Bureau chief.
00:04:27.740 And Andrew Walworth, he is RealClear's chief content officer.

00:05:30.180 How you doing? Good. Awesome. I mean, I guess so. It's hard to get that excited about it,
00:05:39.300 I have to say, because it's like, I don't know. I think we all know Republicans are almost
00:05:45.240 certainly going to lose the house. There's some drama around whether they'll lose the Senate
00:05:49.000 and even Republicans who want to teach their fellow Republicans a lesson, like don't start
00:05:55.740 Middle East wars that you campaigned on not starting. Don't want to see those lunatics on 0.86
00:06:01.280 the left takeover. It's just, I don't, I'm having a difficult time getting really excited about it. 0.90
00:06:06.480 Like I'll cover it. Well, I'll cover it and all that. But like this one just feels a little like,
00:06:10.760 God. Anyway, the Ilhan Omar thing, though, is interesting. It is interesting because as near
00:06:18.680 as I can tell you guys, this woman's been getting away with what looks like immigration fraud for 0.98
00:06:23.600 years, years. And now finally, President Trump's DOJ is cracking down on the investigation that
00:06:30.980 President Biden's DOJ reportedly began. So we've got we've got it looks like we've got a warrant
00:06:39.800 that references specifically immigration issues around Omar.
00:06:46.260 And near as I can tell, here are the top ones.
00:06:49.380 Number one, her father was not an educator,
00:06:54.700 as he claimed when he sought asylum in the United States.
00:06:58.920 He appears to have been a very sketchy guy.
00:07:02.360 He was a well-known colonel in a genocidal army of Somali dictator Siad Bar.
00:07:10.800 This is Powerline's Scott Johnson reporting, who's been owning this story on Omar for years.
00:07:16.820 This guy, Siad Bar, over in Somalia, waged a decade-long war of extermination against the rival Ishak Klan.
00:07:25.220 And the murderous toll reportedly ranged from between 50,000 to 200,000 killed, mostly civilians. 0.96
00:07:31.440 That's who her dad worked for.
00:07:35.120 He was a colonel in the army.
00:07:37.600 Now, what happened, according to Johnson, is, I'm not really up on my Somalia history,
00:07:42.120 that Omar's politically active Somali immigrant community, even they would concede,
00:07:48.860 that many fled Somalia to America only when this bad guy, Syed Bar,
00:07:54.020 when his two-decade reign of terror was finally overthrown and they feared retaliation.
00:07:59.160 So her dad needed to get the hell out of Dodge and did. 0.93
00:08:03.280 They stopped by Kenya.
00:08:04.640 And next thing you know, they were applying for asylum in America.
00:08:07.420 And he was bringing his daughter along with him.
00:08:12.220 Educator, warlord.
00:08:13.860 Are we splitting hairs here?
00:08:17.900 I mean, like, okay, I could have made a joke, but I decided not to.
00:08:22.000 In her memoir, she only calls her dad an educator.
00:08:24.640 So it appears to me that her father was not an educator.
00:08:29.040 She was not a minor.
00:08:31.560 That's the real issue that I think they're tearing into right now because she may have
00:08:36.360 been 12 when she got here, but the only reason she was a naturalized citizen ultimately is
00:08:41.000 because they said that she was 17 at the time that the dad applied for this.
00:08:47.780 And she would have had to be.
00:08:48.860 In order to take advantage of your dad's naturalization, you have to be a minor.
00:08:52.520 If you're 18 or over, you got to get it on your own.
00:08:55.500 And now it's looking very much like she was 18, not 17, as they apparently may have lied about in the application papers for her.
00:09:06.600 So that's number two.
00:09:08.200 And it also appears that she married her brother.
00:09:11.700 She has a brusband.
00:09:13.840 And the brusband, she denies it.
00:09:18.340 It came to me yesterday.
00:09:19.420 I'm like, how can I short form what this guy was?
00:09:22.520 the brother and the husband he was her brusband and this guy last name elmy husbro i don't like
00:09:31.740 it as much i like you workshop that one okay i did i just kidding around um so her last name
00:09:40.960 her real last name is elmy and that's another part of her backstory that she's not an omar
00:09:46.360 she went with she she was an elmy and when the family was trying to get out of dodge and get
00:09:51.560 over here, there was another family that was going to help them with the last name Omar. 0.60
00:09:56.620 So he took Ilan and he took the dad and he took Ilan's sister. Suddenly they became Omar's. But
00:10:04.260 Elmi is her real last name. And guess whose last name it also is? Everyone? Her?
00:10:09.900 Brosben.
00:10:12.340 Thank you for playing, Tom. It's her Brosben's last name. So she got married to her brother,
00:10:18.340 who became her Bresbend. She denies it, but it's very clearly the truth. But here's the problem. 1.00
00:10:24.460 The 17 to 18-year-old thing and the Bresbend issue are both looking at statute of limitations
00:10:31.400 problems. They happened more than 15 years ago. And at best, at best, the statute of limitations
00:10:37.840 on these crimes is 10 years, maybe five. So query what there is to get her on. Now,
00:10:45.920 you could still deport her. I mean, you could still like denaturalize her and potentially 0.98
00:10:49.400 deport her. That would be a civil matter on which there's no statute of limitations. 0.98
00:10:54.660 And Janine Pirro, I'm going to play this for you in a second. She's the one behind these raids. 1.00
00:10:58.660 And she said to Fox yesterday, to John Roberts, yes, these are my cases. Like, so she, she took
00:11:04.020 ownership. It is her office. It's her. And she mentioned civil. So this could all end up in no
00:11:09.720 criminal prosecution, but Ilhan Omar stripped of her citizenship and kicked out of America. I mean,
00:11:13.620 like, holy cow, whoa. But if the statute of limitations had clearly run on any criminal
00:11:21.500 immigration problem, the federal judge would not have signed off on the warrant.
00:11:27.340 So I'm really, I'm a little lost on exactly how they got the warrant and exactly what they're
00:11:34.280 doing. I'll play you the Jeanine Pirro soundbite speaking with John Roberts yesterday on Fox
00:11:39.540 Satri. There was no question that that judge would not have signed that warrant unless there
00:11:45.780 was probable cause. And probably more than that, given the individual who's involved and given the
00:11:52.040 fact that we're in the nation's capital with judges in the nation's capital. But more than that,
00:11:57.580 it is upon the execution of the warrant that we will see. Are we dealing with civil immigration 0.85
00:12:03.400 issues? Because they've made it clear this is about immigration from warrant itself. Are we
00:12:08.260 dealing with criminal immigration issues. You know, there are several investigations going on
00:12:13.080 and I don't think there's any question, but if there's a crime that was committed, it will be
00:12:17.360 prosecuted. So what about these financials disclosure? She was given a pass by the House
00:12:22.360 ethics, but somehow 30 million, 30 million dollars magically appeared, then it magically disappeared.
00:12:28.660 Well, I can tell you that is subject of an investigation as well. And it doesn't matter.
00:12:32.760 It doesn't matter what the House does. It doesn't matter, you know, what this agency or that does.
00:12:37.760 We're looking at the facts based upon the facts.
00:12:40.620 We'll follow them wherever they take us.
00:12:42.780 All right.
00:12:42.960 This is your office that's doing this.
00:12:44.620 Yep.
00:12:45.140 All right.
00:12:47.400 OK, so where does all of that leave us now?
00:12:52.880 Two weeks and change before a midterm election.
00:12:56.520 And what do you make of the Democrats calls that this is lawfare? 0.98
00:13:01.780 It's using the Justice Department for political purposes within 100 days of an election.
00:13:07.000 and that we've, you know, crossed some uncrossed Rubicon, Tom, that we shouldn't have crossed.
00:13:13.220 Well, this is, you know, we talked about this on our show yesterday and Carl and I both had
00:13:18.320 sort of the same take, which is you can't, there was all this discussion in Trump's first term
00:13:24.260 by the Democrats. He's breaking all these norms. He's, you know, he's trampling the Constitution.
00:13:29.540 He's doing all these things. And they all lined up and cheered as Biden's Justice Department
00:13:36.240 And, you know, Letitia James, Alvin Bragg, Fannie Willis, they all openly stated that they were out to get Trump, that they were going to do whatever they had to do to get Trump, use the legal, use the law against him, tried to ruin him, bankrupt him, bankrupt his family, put him in jail.
00:13:54.100 And Democrats cheered at every point along the way.
00:13:57.460 So it's hard to take them seriously now, even if you think what the current Justice Department is doing is either wrong or political.
00:14:08.300 It's just hard to take it from the Democrats who are all out there now suddenly saying this is, you know, this is a fascist regime.
00:14:13.360 This is what authoritarians do. It's like, please just sit down because you have to be consistent.
00:14:19.440 You're either in favor of this or you're not.
00:14:20.920 I was not in favor of the Biden administration, the Biden Justice Department going after Trump the way they did.
00:14:27.720 I thought it was unconscionable. They were making up novel legal theories and cases that had never happened before, never used before to go after Trump.
00:14:36.020 And so I am wary of this, particularly for the reasons that you mentioned, Megan, that if it's beyond the statute of limitations, it is within 60 days of an election.
00:14:44.880 And so there are there are reasons that this I'm not I don't think this probably should be happening right now.
00:14:51.640 If there is a crime that has been committed, I do agree, you know, that if she's if she's guilty of something, then then she should be held accountable for that.
00:15:02.800 But we shouldn't be going out of our way to do that either before an election or to try to get her on some sort of technicality that happened, you know, 20 years ago.
00:15:11.540 I totally disagree with that. I was against the lawfare.
00:15:14.880 That was unleashed by the Biden DOJ. But I think the only way of stopping it is to do it to them, too. I really do. I continue to believe they need to be made to suffer in order to actually get this to end, because if it's just a rhetorical argument, they're not going to just they need to feel the pain.
00:15:28.360 And by the way, she shouldn't be reelected if she does if she's not even a legitimate U.S. citizen. Go ahead. 0.90
00:15:32.920 I agree with that. But but this just goes to the point, Megan. It's like you want this to stop. It's not going to stop. This is it. This is the new normal. The toothpaste is out of the tube and it's not going back in.
00:15:42.920 Mm hmm. Yep. We're those are bananas. We're seeing all around us. We're in their republic now. But we didn't start it. I think that those of us on the right who objected to this are just trying to finish it and actually get some skin in the game by the lunatics who cheered this being done to the former president and now president again.
00:16:02.300 Tom, let me advance it a little bit.
00:16:03.920 Not Tom, sorry, Carl, because I want to show you what Brian Kilmeade,
00:16:07.380 who's got very good sources in Washington, D.C.,
00:16:10.220 said at the end of a Fox & Friends segment on this yesterday.
00:16:13.300 Watch.
00:16:14.400 I also was coached by someone who knows this investigation intimately,
00:16:19.480 that Think Rico case.
00:16:21.140 And they said to us yesterday that just because Omar was raided,
00:16:25.640 it doesn't mean she was the only one raided.
00:16:27.840 Uh, less hope high profile people's houses, apartments were also rated yesterday.
00:16:35.220 So there he says the people we don't know about also were subjected to raids yesterday,
00:16:41.900 then that they may be going after Ilhan Omar for some sort of Rico violation, which of course is
00:16:47.640 the, what they, what they ultimately tried to get Trump on down in Atlanta. And it's a statute
00:16:52.940 that's usually typically used against mob bosses who commit multiple crimes where you're not going
00:16:57.860 to go after them for this small crime or that small crime, but under the umbrella of like a
00:17:01.880 crime organization, you could get them. And that makes me go to, I guess there's been enough in
00:17:08.060 the immigration lane, you could potentially go there. And it might be a way of reviving
00:17:12.220 things that have expired under the statute of limitations. In other words, sometimes they use
00:17:18.440 that to go after mob bosses because like that murder, well, murder doesn't expire with statute
00:17:22.060 of limitations. But let's say that hold up, the statute of limitations expired, that bank fraud,
00:17:26.820 the statute of limitations. But if you put it under a RICO umbrella, you can revive those claims
00:17:31.080 because you're not trying to prosecute them as individuals. You're trying to say this is all
00:17:33.780 part of a criminal enterprise that this person has been running. It could also potentially be
00:17:38.680 a reference to stuff happening in Somalia between Ilhan Omar and the Somali community and the,
00:17:44.740 you know, the federal government, the defrauding of the state and federal government. And her
00:17:49.720 sister has reportedly also received a subpoena. Recall that that was another Elmi turned Omar who 0.96
00:17:57.260 came over with her under the dad's umbrella. So all of which is like telling me, Carl, that we
00:18:02.920 are at the beginning of this. We are not at the end. This is going to be going on for a while.
00:18:06.520 Well, you mentioned the RICO statute. So this is a racketeering. Brian Meade's talking about
00:18:10.880 the racketeering statute that would be a conspiracy to, you know, commit crime on a
00:18:15.880 bigger scale. What the, you know, the immigration thing seems to me problematic for the reason you
00:18:21.000 said, Megan, it's just not timely. But this, this fraud in Minneapolis, if Ilhan Omar knew about it
00:18:28.540 and was in on these discussions, if she profited by it, if she helped protect these people who
00:18:34.360 were stealing tens of millions of dollars, you know, in poverty program dollars, that's what
00:18:40.520 I thought they were looking at. But I, you know, I don't know, I haven't seen, the warrant doesn't
00:18:44.880 say anything about that. But if they're looking at that, then maybe you have a case that's
00:18:51.540 prosecutable. You know, President Trump was asked about this. And he said, you know,
00:18:56.220 this has nothing to do with me. You know, basically, he's trying to say, I didn't order
00:19:01.660 this. He didn't quite say that, but that's what he seemed to be saying. But then he added, you
00:19:05.700 know, I've always found her to be a totally crooked person. And that language, the president
00:19:11.800 shouldn't be using it, but if he is using it, it's a clue there that we're not talking about
00:19:17.220 immigration, right? Well, I think we are though. I trust Rich McHugh implicitly. He worked with me
00:19:25.760 at NBC as a producer. He was the guy who got all those women who were ready to come forward against 0.66
00:19:30.540 Harvey Weinstein that NBC spiked his story. Ronan Farrell was the face of the story, but Rich McHugh
00:19:35.700 was the guy who did all the legwork and he's an honest, decent man and reporter. He now works for
00:19:41.780 News Nation doing on-air work. And he reported, and I quote, sources told us that this raid is
00:19:47.620 related to her immigration status and her father's immigration papers when she was a child. So he is
00:19:54.780 saying, now you heard Janine Pirro kind of saying, kitchen sink it, like wherever this goes, we're
00:20:00.220 going to go. And if you slap a RICO charge in there, that kind of gives you permission to do
00:20:04.700 that. So that could be what this is all about. But he went into detail on the problems behind
00:20:13.520 the dad's asylum here, Andy. And this is some of what he reported. Apparently, the problem started
00:20:19.900 with Omar on this front, like she was outed as possibly being 18, not 17, when she became
00:20:25.200 naturalized, which was not okay. You can't go on your dad's asylum if you're at age of majority.
00:20:30.100 when Omar ran in 2022 in the House Democratic primary for Minnesota's 5th District against
00:20:40.460 a very angry A.J. Kern, her opponent in the primary who came in fourth. Well, A.J. Kern 0.76
00:20:48.540 was like a dog with a bone on this issue. And Rich reports that this person claims to have
00:20:56.280 documents calling into question the validity of Omar's citizenship. She says, I think AJ is a
00:21:02.220 female. I actually could be wrong. Forgive me. But AJ says Omar's citizenship argument, yeah,
00:21:07.460 she is, doesn't hold water and that no one has ever verified her citizenship, the Federal Election
00:21:13.200 Commission or Congress. She has, okay, let's see. Oh, she actually went to the office of the
00:21:23.420 Minnesota Secretary of State to try to find out whether they verified Ilhan Elmi Omar's
00:21:31.880 citizenship back in 2019. We actually have that video here in SOT, too.
00:21:38.260 I'm trying to ask some questions when a person comes in to run for state legislature.
00:21:43.020 They fill out a form.
00:21:44.460 Rich.
00:21:44.960 The affidavit of Canada.
00:21:46.140 Okay. Can I see that or can I have a copy?
00:21:49.340 Yeah, you sure can.
00:21:50.380 When they fill it out, then that is public data?
00:21:55.500 Most of what's on there is public data.
00:21:58.500 Most of what's on there?
00:21:59.500 So how do you verify their citizenship if they're foreign-born? 0.99
00:22:03.120 But that's outside of our realm. 1.00
00:22:04.800 There's no authorization statutes for us to follow, you know, double-check on people, verify their status and things like that.
00:22:12.640 They sign the affidavit.
00:22:14.740 That's the certification statement, and that's just the way it is right now.
00:22:17.760 There is no law that requires us, and in fact, because there is no law telling us to do that,
00:22:24.400 we would be violating the laws by checking up on people.
00:22:28.620 We don't verify everybody is a citizen.
00:22:30.820 We don't verify everybody is a citizen.
00:22:33.540 We don't verify everybody is a citizen.
00:22:37.140 Okay, everyone, you just heard it.
00:22:39.180 So when a candidate goes to file to run for an elected office, the state is not verifying U.S. citizenship.
00:22:51.500 So as a citizen, if I suspect that a foreign-born candidate has not obtained U.S. citizenship, like I suspect Ilhan Omar has not obtained U.S. citizenship, I can't verify it through the state.
00:23:09.180 She just said, they don't verify U.S. citizenship.
00:23:14.280 That's the problem.
00:23:16.280 I'm A.J. Kern, and I approve this message.
00:23:20.380 Okay, so two other additional facts.
00:23:24.520 She, dog with a bone, love this woman, went to the immigration services, U.S. citizenship and immigration services,
00:23:34.460 and asked for proof that this guy was a citizen.
00:23:39.600 Like what happened when Ilhan Omar's dad applied for citizenship and asylum?
00:23:43.620 And she requested his records.
00:23:45.400 She said it took a year, but she ultimately received a letter dated June 20th, 2023,
00:23:50.560 stating that after a thorough search of their database and using all variations of his name,
00:23:54.980 there is no record of her father's naturalization.
00:23:59.060 And then she says, I sent off to the Department of Homeland Security,
00:24:02.180 and they also did a search of their database.
00:24:04.460 using all variations of his name,
00:24:05.720 they also found that her father was not in their database.
00:24:09.760 So she cannot find any record whatsoever from any federal agency,
00:24:14.880 even proving that Ilhan Omar's father became a naturalized citizen.
00:24:19.720 And what we have on Ilhan Omar is original,
00:24:24.180 originally her legislative page showed her birth date as October 4th, 1981,
00:24:30.460 which would have made her 18 at the time of her father's alleged naturalization.
00:24:38.000 Too old.
00:24:39.180 If her birthday is October 4th, 1981,
00:24:41.820 she was too old to be naturalized under her dad's alleged permission slip.
00:24:49.040 It only changed on her website in 2019
00:24:52.820 after A.J. Kern posted a separate video about all of this.
00:24:57.540 And at that point, Omar's staff, according to an email obtained by NewsNation, asked the Minnesota Legislative Reference Library to change the birth year listed on its website from 1981 to 1982, which would have made Omar 17 at the time of her dad's alleged naturalization.
00:25:21.120 This stinks, Andy, stinks to high heaven.
00:25:24.980 Any one of us could prove in two seconds our citizenship and that we didn't marry a brusband. 0.97
00:25:32.840 And she has failed to do either of those things since she came under this microscope.
00:25:38.340 Yeah, I mean, there's a couple of things about this.
00:25:39.740 One is that the raid was the personnel on the raid were Homeland Security personnel were involved in that raid.
00:25:47.420 So that led everyone to believe that this must have to do with her immigration status and not with the financial stuff, which you would think would be the more explosive of the two, frankly, given the.
00:26:01.020 Or at least they got the warrant based on that.
00:26:03.200 It doesn't mean they're not going to go there.
00:26:04.260 This part, what you've just outlined, sort of might help explain how they got a warrant, because maybe there's some fraud involved with going to the Minnesota library, the reference library, and trying to get her date changed if that was—and that would have happened in, what, 2019?
00:26:21.700 2019.
00:26:22.140 So that would be within the, you know, within the statute of limitations.
00:26:28.020 So that may be why the judge, you know, signed the warrant.
00:26:35.680 I mean, I have to say, politically, it's hard to think how this would affect anything in the midterms.
00:26:40.940 I mean, she's in a very safe—she's in, you know, she's the fifth district out there.
00:26:44.780 It's very safe. 0.79
00:26:45.400 She may not be eligible to run.
00:26:47.620 Well, I don't think they're going to determine that between now and the election.
00:26:52.140 I just don't think that that's going to happen.
00:26:54.180 They may not determine it, but they may make news on it.
00:26:56.760 Yeah, I suppose that's true.
00:26:58.200 I mean, I'm just not sure that politically, it seems to me it's a distraction.
00:27:03.960 I'm not sure this is helping the Republicans writ large.
00:27:07.740 Oh, interesting.
00:27:08.420 I don't know.
00:27:08.920 I'm not sure if that's actually a different point and a good question.
00:27:13.620 I guess my first instinct, Tom, is to say it will help them.
00:27:16.940 Republicans cannot stand Ilhan Omar.
00:27:19.160 And they've been wanting some accountability for Trump's persecution and what they feel like is their persecution being debanked and so on since the day they voted for Trump.
00:27:30.600 And he failed with Comey. He failed with Letitia James. I don't know. To me, I think we got a live wire.
00:27:37.480 There's like failed with Fauci. Right.
00:27:40.860 You fail with Fauci. Exactly. I'm feeling kind of optimistic about this one. I'm not going to lie.
00:27:47.160 There's like, if you can make a RICO case where like she's been defrauding us from day one. 0.79
00:27:52.060 She wasn't 17. 0.98
00:27:53.300 She was 18. 0.98
00:27:54.220 She married the Brisbane and he had no right to be here.
00:27:58.940 The dad lied and said he was an educator when really he worked for some criminal warlord who killed a bunch of civilians. 0.51
00:28:05.340 And then when she got here, you take it to the other place.
00:28:08.800 She filled out.
00:28:09.900 This is alleged.
00:28:11.380 This could be what the allegations are.
00:28:13.040 I'm not saying I know this.
00:28:13.840 And then you say, after these multiple frauds that got her into the country and her criminal dad into the country, and possibly her criminal family into the country, what did they do?
00:28:23.740 They continued the fraud by fleecing the taxpayers at the federal and state levels with these programs that have come under scrutiny in Minnesota, maybe.
00:28:32.320 And look at the husband's tax returns.
00:28:35.880 Look at her congressional disclosures about her money.
00:28:38.780 Who goes from $51,000 in income one year to $30 million the next year?
00:28:46.460 And then when they come under scrutiny saying, how did that happen?
00:28:49.640 We have a right to know.
00:28:51.040 That's why we require these disclosures of our lawmakers.
00:28:53.840 Suddenly they take out their big eraser and they revise it down to zero saying, oh, we
00:28:58.460 forgot to take account of our liabilities when we gave you that $30 million number.
00:29:02.600 And I can read a probable cause affidavit in front of a judge that says all of this is part of the same scheme under the heading of RICO.
00:29:12.840 And we need to get to the bottom of what this criminal fraudster. 0.73
00:29:15.460 How many frauds has she committed is basically their question. 0.53
00:29:18.900 Yeah, look, I agree with you.
00:29:20.240 I think, you know, she has been a very prominent member of the squad who's been very, you know, vocal in her positions and her hatred of Donald Trump.
00:29:31.340 And so and I agree with you. I think there are folks on the right who are like, you know, because the mantra is like nobody's above the law. Right. Isn't that what we were told? That was a justification for all this. And now suddenly, you know, if she has committed some sort of fraud or crime, she should be held accountable as as was the same with Comey and Fauci and all these people who who did not pay for their their crimes if they committed those crimes or or at least their deceit and manipulation of the American people.
00:29:58.220 And so to me, the whole, I mean, just as you laid that out, if her father, if there's no record of him ever being naturalized in the first place, right, then she has no, right, she has no status here.
00:30:13.780 I would think that that would be something that the government, as you mentioned, I mean, it would be kind of dramatic to have her deported, especially if it happened before the election.
00:30:22.980 um but she might actually win anyway even though she was you know it'd be like being in prison and
00:30:29.860 winning that's happened before people have gotten votes so i don't know it'll be it i agree with you
00:30:35.320 i think we're at the beginning of the story not the end we're going to learn a lot more and in
00:30:38.940 the course of that learning i think you know we may very well find that she has she has defrauded
00:30:44.120 the american people in in a variety of different ways but we'll see a serial she may be a serial 0.93
00:30:50.840 fraudster. That's what we're going to figure out. I mean, honestly, I don't even know who
00:30:55.140 she's running against. Like, I realize she's up 30 plus points and all these Somalis are going to 1.00
00:31:00.280 vote for her, the ones who are in our country. Well, Megan, that's still like, where's her
00:31:04.760 opponent? That's an important point, though, Megan. These districts are so gerrymandered.
00:31:08.300 The media up there has been so friendly to her. She hasn't been asked these questions in a way
00:31:12.860 that's required her to answer. She was asked about that wine scam. Maybe it's an accounting
00:31:18.400 year maybe it's a maybe somebody filled out the form wrong but this 30 million dollar winery that
00:31:23.200 then was came from nothing and didn't actually seem to have a brick and mortar didn't even seem
00:31:28.000 to sell wine then it went away and she was asked about that by a reporter she's walking down the
00:31:33.140 hallway there was on camera and she says she's really start you know flippantly oh why did you
00:31:37.920 want to buy a bottle and that's not really the answer to that so i i i would like to get these
00:31:43.360 answers these questions but your point the point you're getting at now megan is important one she
00:31:47.660 doesn't have real opposition up there the democrats haven't required that she do anything
00:31:51.600 congress hasn't required it you heard this woman from the state of minnesota they don't check the
00:31:55.860 records she's never had to answer for these things and i it would be a healthier dynamic i think
00:32:01.480 trying to deport someone who's been here who's in the united states congress has been in this
00:32:04.820 country since they were 12 is ludicrous but i also think it's ludicrous that she's gotta go
00:32:10.020 has never been asked she's never been made to answer these questions and i think that these
00:32:13.780 are some of them are serious questions that need to be answered she's running against john nagel
00:32:18.840 just for if people want to know john nagel he has exactly 26 000 cash on hand in his campaign
00:32:26.600 chest right now she has raised a total uh this is according to polling source.com she's raised a
00:32:32.560 total of $5.8 million. She has $1.35 million on hand. How much on hand is she going? She's got
00:32:42.300 1.3 on hand right now. Because if Trump deports her, she'll take that with her to Somalia.
00:32:47.660 Well, she could, I guess. But she's going to win by 25, 30 points easily.
00:32:52.120 Let the good times continue to roll, Elon. Yes. So Nagel said to Fox, I think the people of
00:32:57.280 Minnesota have been lied to. They've had their money stolen. They want to see somebody that's
00:33:00.900 going to come in and fix things. They're tired of being told the same old things. Okay, well,
00:33:04.860 that's exciting, but get on it, Nagel. Why is Janine Pirro leading this effort as opposed to 0.71
00:33:11.060 you from the rooftop screaming, she's not an American. She does not appear to be a valid 0.99
00:33:16.600 American citizen. That's what old Nagel should be using every $26,000 worth to advertise and say 1.00
00:33:24.660 in as many pockets as he possibly can. You've got a bit of an assist from President Trump,
00:33:30.000 who's not putting his fingerprints on the Jeanine Pirro investigation here, 1.00
00:33:33.940 but did want us to know that Somalia is not a nice country 1.00
00:33:38.620 and we might not want people from there in leadership posts.
00:33:43.540 That, of course, made a lot of people unhappy.
00:33:45.760 Here's what he said the other day, SOP 4.
00:33:47.880 Elon, somebody was asked, I don't know what they're doing with it, 0.98
00:33:50.680 but I can tell you this, she's a disaster. 1.00
00:33:53.480 She comes in from a country without laws, without police, without military. 1.00
00:33:58.160 All they do is shoot each other. 0.77
00:34:00.000 And she comes into our country and she says, I have a constitutional right.
00:34:05.360 She's got a constitutional right.
00:34:07.120 She's telling us about the Constitution. 1.00
00:34:09.480 And she comes from one of the worst countries. 1.00
00:34:11.600 And they come into the United States of America and they tell us how to run our country. 1.00
00:34:17.720 We're not going to stand for it.
00:34:21.120 Cue this reaction from Sonny Hostin on The View.
00:34:25.000 He is throwing racist red meat at his base.
00:34:28.560 I'm not saying that his entire base is racist, but I'm saying that all the racists are part of 0.95
00:34:33.060 his base. And so what I what I will say is that this is xenophobic. I think it's racist. He called
00:34:41.380 Somalia a non-country, which has 20 plus million people. It's an African country. So this is par
00:34:50.620 for the course for this president. OK, just not for nothing, but Trump is 100 percent right.
00:34:57.580 Somalia has a military, but in virtually all categories, its readiness is rated as zero. 1.00
00:35:06.300 The country has police, but the latest State Department travel advisory about Somalia
00:35:12.960 tells everyone to not travel to Somalia for any reason.
00:35:17.220 Americans are at risk due to unrest, crime, kidnapping, terrorism, limited medical services,
00:35:21.160 landmines, systematic mistreatment of women and gay and lesbian individuals,
00:35:24.800 piracy, abuse of residents in rehabilitation centers,
00:35:27.340 and confiscation of passports by family members.
00:35:29.260 So it doesn't exactly sound like a trip to, you know, the Caribbean.
00:35:35.100 It's not racist, to point that out.
00:35:37.280 It's true.
00:35:38.160 And what Trump is trying to say is,
00:35:39.520 why would we elect somebody from a country like that
00:35:41.700 to try to tell us how to run our country?
00:35:44.680 And I love just the casual reference by Sonny Hostin.
00:35:49.040 All the racists are part of the Trump base.
00:35:51.520 I'm not saying that they are all racists, but all racists are part of the Trump base.
00:35:57.820 That's that's that's a rich one coming from a Democrat and the Democrat Party.
00:36:03.460 OK, so that's Ilhan Omar.
00:36:06.520 We'll watch it as it continues to play out.
00:36:08.620 Let's talk about Kimberly Guilfoyle.
00:36:10.700 Carl, I'm interested in your take on this because the headlines have been everywhere for weeks.
00:36:16.480 The Wall Street Journal is the one that brought her down with an assist from the Daily Mail.
00:36:21.080 But my point is, these are not left wing publications. So this was it's it's tough for her to say I was the victim of a left wing smear job.
00:36:30.940 And then, of course, she was fired by a Republican president who, you know, she was close with.
00:36:35.900 But the president is denying that now. Here's what he said about her after he forced her out of her job on Tuesday.
00:36:41.980 SOT 6.
00:36:42.640 she was almost a member of your family how surprised were you to learn about these
00:36:48.900 allegations no she wasn't a member of my family she uh i guess dated my son a long time ago but
00:36:55.060 she wasn't no she uh she went to greece she was doing a good job but we didn't like what we were
00:37:01.780 reading so well it's not exactly the headlines today exactly simon you're denying christ three
00:37:09.220 times it's a little lower he but it's truly like who yeah meanwhile so you know well she was
00:37:19.560 definitely very close to the family for many many years yeah and she was they were they were they
00:37:23.360 were an item tom and i we saw them at the i forget one some convention was a convention four years
00:37:30.380 ago or two years ago and they went they were hand in hand they were inseparable they were engaged
00:37:35.480 She and Don Jr.
00:37:36.100 Yeah, Don Jr.
00:37:36.720 He never pulled the trigger on it.
00:37:39.620 They were never really engaged.
00:37:41.640 I actually have confirmed that myself.
00:37:44.480 They were certainly an item.
00:37:46.240 They weren't engaged.
00:37:47.120 She bought herself an engagement ring and went to the tabloids and said, we're engaged.
00:37:52.240 And it came as a surprise to Don Jr.
00:37:54.100 Well, that family comment that the reporter asked Trump, that's not accurate.
00:37:58.060 Scott Jennings had the last laugh on that.
00:37:59.900 He was on the, they played that clip that you played on CNN.
00:38:02.420 And Scott Jennings said, well, she was in Gavin Newsom's family.
00:38:05.960 And even Abby Phillip has said, yeah, she was in Gavin Newsom's family.
00:38:10.780 True.
00:38:11.880 Well, so where does this leave us?
00:38:13.400 Because here's what I find interesting.
00:38:17.580 Whatever Trump said in that soundbite, she was very close to the family.
00:38:21.220 She and Don Jr., I think, got together in 2019.
00:38:25.260 They were together some five or six years.
00:38:28.740 And there's a report.
00:38:30.760 Granted, it's on the Daily Beast.
00:38:32.420 But if I were a betting woman, I'd say it probably has Kimberly's fingerprints on it, saying, be careful because there's a burn book and she does know where the bodies are buried.
00:38:46.020 And having an unhappy ex-girlfriend at a minimum, maybe ex-fiance, whatever, of Don's running around there with all of that information is not a great position for the Trumps to be in.
00:38:59.340 And so what do they do now?
00:39:00.960 right like not prosecute her because there's a question like right now she's being investigated
00:39:06.000 by the state department ig for all these alleged ethical lapses so carl what let's say you get the
00:39:11.740 call from president trump later today carl cannon what should i do okay what say you they gave her 0.95
00:39:17.500 grease to make her happy and apparently that wasn't good enough because she was still doing 1.00
00:39:21.420 business over there you create a super pack and you give her the super pack to run that requires 1.00
00:39:27.620 it doesn't require Senate confirmation, and you never mention her name again. That's how you
00:39:33.460 handle this if you're the Trumps. Now, you could give her a pardon, Andrew, because there's the
00:39:41.400 possibility of criminal charges here. By the way, her lawyers strongly deny that she did anything
00:39:46.760 illegal, and they claim that all these sort of favors she got riding on these Greek magnets,
00:39:52.240 it's private jets and staying at George V in Paris on somebody else's dime, that that was all
00:39:58.340 cleared allegedly by the State Department. We'll see. That'll come out. The pay-to-play stuff with
00:40:04.640 this guy Dieters, that's all interesting too. Those are ethical breaches, not necessarily
00:40:10.060 illegal ones. But if I'm the Trump White House, I'm not telling Trump to give her a pardon because
00:40:17.780 I think that's the leverage you have over her, to keep her quiet. You better be nice. You're
00:40:25.400 definitely not getting a part. It worked really well with Stormy Daniels.
00:40:27.680 Yeah, I think there's two words. It's Simon E. Schuster or it's book deal. That's what's
00:40:35.280 going to happen. I mean, and burn book would be a great title. If I were her agent right now,
00:40:40.200 I'd be mocking that up right now. I'd buy it.
00:40:44.740 A couple million dollar advance, no problem.
00:40:46.740 Oh, that's interesting.
00:40:47.160 Steve's telling me that the Burn Book report
00:40:49.520 originally was in Daily Mail.
00:40:51.260 Oh, okay.
00:40:51.800 Which that makes more sense.
00:40:53.680 Like, I'm sure she has a relationship with them.
00:40:57.820 She's, I mean-
00:40:58.640 She has two million- 0.98
00:40:59.920 A cornered animal- 0.99
00:41:00.780 She has two million social media-
00:41:01.600 Is a very dangerous thing. 1.00
00:41:02.900 Followers, right? 1.00
00:41:03.720 She's got a pretty big platform of her own right now. 0.99
00:41:07.100 Well, and she can't be diminished
00:41:09.560 the way a lot of Trump critics can as knowing nothing.
00:41:13.100 like she knows a lot and i don't know perhaps that's why she felt emboldened to take some risks
00:41:20.680 if she if in fact she took them andrew you know she's denying that she did this stuff and
00:41:25.060 she hasn't really had the chance to present her side of the story yet but
00:41:28.660 i do think she's a very dangerous woman to this white house i agree and i think that
00:41:33.600 she's going to be sued by the because she's denied that these texts or exchanges are real
00:41:42.740 So she's being sued over that.
00:41:45.180 So that discovery will be interesting to find out.
00:41:48.080 But I do think that I think the Carl's idea of a super PAC is inspired in some way to keep her quiet.
00:41:58.160 But I really think the big money is in the book.
00:42:01.360 Andy, I just Googled.
00:42:02.500 I just Googled.
00:42:03.920 I asked AI, can Kimberly Guilfoyle write?
00:42:07.500 And AI says, yes, Kimberly Guilfoyle is a published author and writer.
00:42:11.940 She holds a Juris Doctor degree and has written professionally throughout her career as a prosecutor, legal analyst, and media personality.
00:42:18.080 Her most notable published work is her 2015 advice and advocacy book.
00:42:22.460 So I think $2 million for the manuscript makes sense.
00:42:26.340 Yeah, that'd be a little bit.
00:42:27.900 You know, memoirs are all the rage right now.
00:42:30.180 I'm married to an author, and he's telling me memoirs are crushing it out there at the moment.
00:42:34.080 Go ahead, Tom.
00:42:34.380 If she has a sense of irony, she should title the book Honey, Please.
00:42:38.540 Oh, I like that, Tom.
00:42:41.040 That's good, too.
00:42:41.940 Although, I don't know, burn book is going to be tough to beat.
00:42:47.000 You mentioned that there's a lawsuit.
00:42:49.220 So we talked about this guy yesterday, Eric Dieters.
00:42:51.600 He was in, he ran for office in Kentucky, didn't go anywhere.
00:42:55.980 But then he got in the Trump orbit.
00:42:57.680 And it seems like he did sort of get cozy with Team Trump or some members of it, including Kimberly.
00:43:04.560 And he's the one she allegedly went to, per the Journal, and said,
00:43:08.800 honey, please deposit $100,000 in my bank account
00:43:11.840 before my confirmation hearings
00:43:13.520 because I need to make my finances
00:43:14.860 look stronger than they are.
00:43:16.260 All of them have to be disclosed.
00:43:18.560 And I'll give you, here's the Amex number or address.
00:43:21.480 Just send the check directly to them. 0.99
00:43:23.160 And he said, I would have to get a divorce
00:43:25.340 in order for me to do this.
00:43:28.300 I don't think Kimberly Guilfoyle 0.89
00:43:29.640 wants to get into a deposition about this issue at all.
00:43:34.960 I don't think she wants questions being asked
00:43:37.960 Like, how many others did you ask or have you asked to make deposits to make deposits like this for you?
00:43:45.900 That is not that's not a good question for her.
00:43:48.280 But here's what here's what Eric Dieters is saying in SOT 7.
00:43:53.340 Well, I'm going to sue those lawyers, that law firm and Kimberly Guilfoyle here in Kentucky.
00:44:00.040 It's going to be fun.
00:44:01.360 They're going to have to come to Kentucky.
00:44:02.600 I'll take their depositions for the following reasons.
00:44:05.300 they first said that the text messages were fake defamation then they said i was a known blackmailer
00:44:12.140 never blackmailed anybody in my life defamation then now they're claiming that their invoices
00:44:17.380 when she knows that's not true in all the text messages she doesn't mention anything about me
00:44:23.840 owing money what she talks about is papering this so what she asked me to do was make up that i owed
00:44:31.300 her money and write her a letter. And I did that for her. He knows that is phony and I'm going to
00:44:37.360 be suing them all for defamation. Oh boy. And here's the other thing. He says, first, they said
00:44:43.320 those text messages were fake. The journal had a report last night saying her initial defense to
00:44:48.160 the Trump administration was they were AI, that they were AI generated and that the Trump
00:44:53.380 administration did not believe that they thought she was lying at that and that they then felt that
00:44:58.300 they had verified the messages as legit and they did believe she did what the journal said she did.
00:45:04.960 So this is getting hairy. And I don't know if I'm Trump, I want to press the eject button on this
00:45:10.560 whole thing. Like maybe the super PAC is the way because it's look, this is a leftist story. The
00:45:14.880 left is loving this, right? Because it's a Trump ambassador. It's somebody who is a Trump girlfriend.
00:45:20.500 It's somebody who's got the goods on the Trumps. And now, even though she professed her loyalty
00:45:25.300 in her ex-statement yesterday.
00:45:27.360 We see this report in the Daily Mail. 0.91
00:45:29.160 She is no fool. 0.96
00:45:30.320 She knows how to use the media. 0.98
00:45:31.820 Trust me.
00:45:33.120 And to me, that's a warning shot across the bow.
00:45:37.440 Like, be careful.
00:45:39.200 I stepped down because I may have done some things
00:45:41.760 that weren't perfectly ethical, allegedly, reportedly.
00:45:44.980 But that doesn't hobble me, Tom.
00:45:48.980 Yeah, I mean, the problem with this story for her
00:45:51.400 is the guy we just saw.
00:45:54.020 I mean, that first journal report, he gave them everything. And so it's hard to refute that. And I guess the lesson is, you know, and the reason he did that is because he allegedly paid her something like $300,000 and he didn't get anything for it.
00:46:10.940 There was, it was, you know, she did not hold up her end of the payola bargain, I guess.
00:46:17.480 And so he went to the journal, he gave him all these texts and everything.
00:46:19.800 And that set off, you know, it is interesting.
00:46:23.240 The most interesting thing about this is where the other leaks came from.
00:46:26.600 As soon as that first journal report started, then there were these other leaks about all
00:46:30.720 the stuff that was going on in Europe and Greece.
00:46:32.500 You mentioned travel.
00:46:34.140 Yeah, it was.
00:46:34.980 So there were definitely people who used that as an impetus to pull out the knives.
00:46:38.780 And and ultimately they got her. And so she's it's going to be interesting to see how she responds and how and if the Trumps can somehow keep her from going completely nuclear, which, to your point, Megan, she might be willing to do.
00:46:54.720 And and it might not be particularly in advance of election where there's talk of, you know, corruption and all this stuff.
00:47:03.160 It wouldn't be it would not be a good series of events for for Trump or the Republican Party, quite frankly, if she were to do that in the next couple of weeks.
00:47:11.900 Well, that's reportedly why they turfed her, Carl, because we have three weeks to go until the election.
00:47:17.160 And this was not a good story for Team Trump at all.
00:47:20.900 And the journal was not letting up and it was spreading.
00:47:23.520 The Daily Mail was doing its own exclusives by the time she got fired on different angles of the story.
00:47:30.340 And what's being reported today is that the Trump administration, Trump himself, said this is these are not good facts for us out there.
00:47:37.340 I don't want people thinking about a corrupt team member out there grifting off of effectively the American taxpayer because we're the ones who put her in this position instead of just doing the people's business, you know, within weeks of the midterms.
00:47:53.520 Like, I don't know. None of this is good for me. And that he also reportedly did not appreciate her trying to make money off of the Trump presidency.
00:48:00.060 Only he gets to do that. Yeah. Well, that's the that's the part that doesn't it's cognitive dissonance.
00:48:06.140 I mean, so she's she gets one hundred thousand dollar Amex bill paid, but Trump and his sons make billions on crypto and real estate deals.
00:48:15.380 And but your point, Megan, he wanted to make that all go away. He didn't want this conversation.
00:48:20.200 The thinking was, let's just, and they made it really pretty quickly. 0.97
00:48:24.200 Let's just ask her to resign.
00:48:26.080 They gave her some tepid praise publicly, thanked her for her service, and hoped it would go away.
00:48:30.700 I don't know whether the story is going away because there are certain elements of the legacy media that doesn't seem to really love Donald Trump.
00:48:39.340 And they may want to keep it going.
00:48:43.420 But, Megan, I want to go back to something you said because I don't want to miss an opportunity here.
00:48:47.240 If we're into self-dealing
00:48:50.340 If we're talking about that
00:48:51.780 You said memoirs are selling
00:48:53.240 You have a lot bigger audience than we do
00:48:56.020 So I should probably say on this show
00:48:57.620 My father, Lou Cannon
00:48:58.840 His memoir just came out this week
00:49:01.280 It's called
00:49:02.100 It's called Lou Cannon
00:49:03.700 From Ronald Reagan to Rodney King
00:49:05.320 Chronicling America in an Age of Optimism
00:49:09.320 LSU Press put it out
00:49:10.560 And so
00:49:11.260 He's not around, he passed in December
00:49:14.160 So he can't talk about it
00:49:15.060 But I wanted you to know about it
00:49:16.200 Oh, that's sweet. Oh, Carl, that's nice. Actually, I'll take a look at it. Thank you for the tip.
00:49:22.200 Yeah, apparently the memoir is all the rage right now. We had Ari Emanuel on the show on Friday.
00:49:27.460 His debuted at number two, and he's a guy who's sort of independently famous, but mostly famous
00:49:33.940 for helping other people become more famous. So yeah, there is a market, and I'm sure there would
00:49:38.760 be a market for hashtag burn book. Here's one more SOT from Eric Dieter to CNN just this week, SOT 8.
00:49:46.200 To be clear, do you owe Ambassador Guilfoyle any money at this point?
00:49:51.640 I do not owe any money from Ambassador Guilfoyle, and that's why I'm going to sue him for defamation.
00:49:59.380 And you know what's so funny?
00:50:00.940 If I was such a cash-strapped millionaire, then how come I have never had to pay one single person, one nickel, in any litigation-type expense?
00:50:11.200 I'm just fine.
00:50:12.420 But I can tell you who's not fine, Kimberly Guilfoyle.
00:50:14.800 And by the way, I've communicated with the Trump administration today and I told them and I let them know I'm going to be suing them for defamation and the story is not going to go away.
00:50:26.100 Who do you talk to in the Trump administration?
00:50:28.500 I sent an email to Don Jr. and Susie Wiles, who I have plenty of other times in the past.
00:50:36.280 Good question by John Berman.
00:50:38.700 So as the world turns, today's chapter closes.
00:50:41.860 Another begins.
00:50:42.540 Quick break.
00:50:43.140 we're back with the guys right after this. The pet food industry won't tell you that the real

00:53:27.340 The guys from Real Clear Politics are back with me now.
00:53:30.240 Tom Bevin, Carl Cannon, and Andrew
00:53:32.060 Walworth. Find them on YouTube,
00:53:34.380 podcast platforms, or on the
00:53:36.100 Megyn Kelly channel on SiriusXM
00:53:37.920 111, right before this
00:53:40.160 show. It's a great lineup. Love the show,
00:53:42.180 you guys. Okay, let's talk
00:53:44.220 about Kamala Harris, because she's back in
00:53:46.180 the news, my friends. Andrew
00:53:48.040 just left the screen. She's
00:53:50.100 back in the news. She went
00:53:52.100 on that hard-hitting
00:53:54.160 program.
00:53:55.820 What's it called? Kiki.
00:53:58.160 Kiki knows all. Kiki something.
00:54:00.240 I don't know what it is. Baby, this is Kiki Palmer. Andrew, why don't you jump in to help me?
00:54:07.820 Well, she did go on, and she was asked about a lot of things, including the midterms and whether
00:54:15.000 she was going to run. She was also asked about her laugh, and she said this. She said, those who try
00:54:22.300 to take your joy are trying to make you weak, and that's where my fight comes in. For anyone
00:54:29.300 who mocks her she said this there's nothing you can do to me that will take my joy you are not
00:54:34.580 that powerful so sort of the kind of therapy speak you expect from her um not quite a word salad we
00:54:41.380 have that a little good but yeah if you have that sure let's listen to it andy's favorite sock 12
00:54:47.400 those who tried to take your joy are trying to make you weak and uh that that's where my fight
00:54:58.040 comes in i know what you're trying to do you're not going to take my joy right you cannot there's
00:55:08.200 nothing you can do to me that will take my joy you are not that powerful you're very brave oh my lord
00:55:20.040 we all are sweetheart
00:55:24.720 did she just reach for a tissue 0.91
00:55:27.800 I just threw up my mouth a little 0.99
00:55:29.220 that's how I interview people
00:55:32.200 that's how I interview senators and
00:55:34.440 congressmen, former vice presidents
00:55:36.440 they're very brave 1.00
00:55:38.380 with a skirt that looks like a belt
00:55:40.760 and dabbing at your eyes
00:55:42.960 Carl when they say something
00:55:44.340 truly profound, I mean that was
00:55:46.180 moving
00:55:47.180 She said something that was odd because she was asked these questions and then she said about Trump in the First Amendment, banning the reporters from the pool and stuff.
00:55:57.800 And she said, if you want to do things in secret, why don't you just leave the White House?
00:56:02.700 And I didn't even track.
00:56:04.620 I didn't I didn't follow the point.
00:56:06.740 She said that on the same interview.
00:56:09.480 But also, like the Biden-Harris White House wants to lecture us about keeping secrets.
00:56:16.060 Please stop.
00:56:17.180 Wait, like what a joke keeping a secret that the president wasn't cognizant anymore.
00:56:21.840 You think that's a secret?
00:56:23.920 Right.
00:56:24.560 Which she continues to maintain.
00:56:25.960 She's one of the few Democrats who surrounded him who's still trying to peddle the lie that he was fine and she had no idea here.
00:56:34.260 Let's see.
00:56:36.200 I want to get the.
00:56:37.040 Yeah, here it is.
00:56:37.920 Stop 13. 0.94
00:56:38.840 This is classic her. 0.99
00:56:40.860 Before I really let you out of here. 0.89
00:56:44.020 Are you ready for president? 0.98
00:56:45.680 Oh, girl, come on.
00:56:47.180 oh just to get it no no you're not getting out of here we have to know this you know people want
00:56:55.740 to know are we going to get another moment i haven't decided i haven't decided yet i will
00:57:00.080 i promise okay we'll be waiting to hear the midterms and the midterms the midterms okay
00:57:05.520 the midterms 28 don't matter if we don't do 26 right that's right in front of us yeah focus on
00:57:13.160 the present please meanwhile kiki's like what's happening in 26 well it was a moment of journalism
00:57:22.380 it was at least some journalism there that was the question that she needed to be asked
00:57:27.360 are you running for president what kamala harris has to do she's got to go to people 1.00
00:57:31.500 dumber than she is so that she can feel smart and that the at least one person in the room thinks 1.00
00:57:37.180 she's smart and she can be like this mother earth you know like mama law like drew barrymore called 1.00
00:57:42.820 Or, you know, this is this is what she wants to do. But you tell me, Tom, you tell me, why is she sitting down with a black woman who's got a largely black female audience trying to shore up support if she's not thinking about running for president?
00:57:55.520 Well, she's definitely thinking about running for president. I don't think there's any question about that. And, you know, South Carolina's first. Black women are a big part of the overall Democratic constituency, but particularly in that state, being the first Democratic primary.
00:58:12.920 So she presents a problem if she does run. I mean, Gavin Newsom already said he's not going to run if she does.
00:58:20.240 But you look at the other candidates that are there. The problem is, Megan, that everybody knows that she sucks as a candidate. 1.00
00:58:27.780 She's not very good. And, you know, she didn't even make it to the starting line in 2020 when she ran the Dem primary. 0.99
00:58:34.240 She got a good look. You remember she had the debate moment with Biden saying that little girl, you know, is me.
00:58:38.960 And then she was selling T-shirts. And and but from that point on, it was all downhill until she was out of the race.
00:58:45.000 And then when she was vice president, she went through like, I don't know, 10 different reboots.
00:58:49.180 They were constantly trying to, like, reboot her image and get her some because she was just failing. 0.61
00:58:55.300 And then and nasty. All her staff was leaving. It was a Markle situation.
00:58:59.480 She had a lot of turnover. Yeah. And then she gets the she gets basically anointed when Biden drops out and she runs a hundred and seven day campaign. 0.83
00:59:08.960 where she spent over a billion dollars and she loses to Trump. And, you know, people say, well,
00:59:14.660 if she only had more time. No, it's the exact opposite. Her favorability ratings peaked like
00:59:19.300 two weeks after she was in the early part of September, right after she was Biden dropped
00:59:25.140 out, I think on July 21st. And from that point on, the more she was exposed and she didn't even
00:59:30.760 she didn't have any press conferences. She got softball questions she couldn't answer.
00:59:34.620 The longer she was out there, the more that she was exposed to the public, the worse it was for her.
00:59:39.600 And so everybody knows that, but they're not really willing to say it.
00:59:43.140 They're waiting for her. And eventually, you know, she's going to be if she does run, she'll probably do well in South Carolina.
00:59:50.640 But then beyond that, we'll see how it goes. And I think that's why this race is so, so wide open, whether she runs or whether she doesn't run.
00:59:57.920 In her case, familiarity breeds contempt. There is a big article in yesterday's Politico,
01:00:05.980 Carl, the title of which is She Totally Blew It, How Kamala Harris Wasted a Year to Make Her Case. 0.85
01:00:14.040 Harris has offered voters almost nothing in the way of specifics about how she would remake a 0.99
01:00:17.880 Democratic Party hungry for change after another term of Donald Trump. And it goes on to cite a
01:00:23.560 bunch of Democratic strategists and donors by name this time. You know, for a long time we've
01:00:29.700 had anonymous Dems diss her in the press, but now you're getting actual donors and strategists by 1.00
01:00:36.880 name on the record in Politico saying, like this one, she totally blew it. She hasn't gotten into 0.53
01:00:42.760 the mix. That was Doug Herman, a lead male strategist for Barack Obama's campaigns. Then
01:00:50.260 you've got, oh, listen to this. Okay. So there's plenty of other examples of them like specifically
01:00:54.480 saying, here's one. I'm looking at all kinds of candidates for 2028 and she's not necessarily 0.89
01:00:59.780 one of them, said Lori Black, a San Diego-based donor, a longtime Harris supporter. It's not that
01:01:04.800 I don't think she's qualified, but I want to support a winner in 2028. And I just don't know
01:01:09.140 if the vice president has the juice. Another California-based fundraiser could not think
01:01:14.000 of a single person in their circle who wants Harris to run again. She has good lists, etc., 0.99
01:01:20.340 but there are no obvious big donors that have indicated they want to go down that road.
01:01:25.180 Perhaps worse for Harris, writes Politico, is not that strategists and donors are down on her
01:01:29.300 2028 chances, but that they're not talking about her at all. The discourse about her among other
01:01:35.500 2028 hopefuls and plugged-in donors has been practically silent, a sign that few believe she
01:01:40.240 will actually jump into the race, let alone prove to be a threat. And this is on top of seeing a
01:01:46.540 leak earlier this week that her husband, Doug Emhoff, doesn't want her to run. No one wants
01:01:52.680 Kamala Harris to run other than Kiki. What's happening in 2026? What that tells me, Megan, 0.98
01:02:00.640 she doesn't need money to run the way these other candidates do. Her name ID is 100%. 0.99
01:02:07.260 As Tom pointed out, the first Democratic primaries in South Carolina, she would be hard to beat there. 0.79
01:02:12.520 These people are not coming out against her because they don't think she can get the nomination.
01:02:16.720 They're coming out against her because they think she will would get the nomination and then lose in the general election to J.D. Vance or Marco Rubio or some other Republican.
01:02:25.560 They're worried that she won't she wouldn't be a winning general election candidate.
01:02:29.980 They're worried that she will be nominated.
01:02:32.600 So that I think that's the way at least that's the way I look at it.
01:02:35.460 And in terms of Gavin Newsom, these guys, you weren't there, Megan.
01:02:40.680 These two guys beat the crap out of me for days after Newsom told Jake Tapper he wouldn't run if she runs.
01:02:50.140 But I sure like somebody to maybe Newsom knows something.
01:02:54.780 Maybe he's on to something here.
01:02:56.380 And then in the end, she'll be persuaded not to run.
01:02:58.440 And he'll look like a noble person who can then go into South Carolina and compete for the African-American vote.
01:03:03.940 Maybe she'd even endorse him.
01:03:05.460 hmm um no i don't know i they didn't buy it i don't know i'm not sure i i don't know if she
01:03:13.860 can endorse a white man i really don't i like is there going to be another black woman running or
01:03:18.760 a woman of color like aoc and yes does does she endorse that person yeah so it's like i'm not sure
01:03:24.940 in the in the world where identity politics reigns supreme just don't know whether kamala
01:03:29.360 harris can endorse a white man like gavin newson it seems to me newson newson didn't just blurt
01:03:34.380 that out to Jake Tapper. He'd given it some thought. Yep. Really? Here's the other question
01:03:39.720 I have for you guys, because you guys have been talking about, you don't buy it. We know what you
01:03:46.180 guys think. You already said that. I was giving Megan a chance to say how smart I am, but she
01:03:50.840 didn't go there. Always. You wouldn't be here if I didn't believe that. Here's one thing I do want
01:03:57.740 to hear you guys on, because I've been listening to you debate on your show about where are things
01:04:03.080 for real in these midterm elections, because what you're getting now from Republican circles,
01:04:07.980 you know, the Trump allies and all of Fox News is don't believe the polls. The polls are fake.
01:04:14.400 It's a Democratic op. We've heard even Rod Blagojevich say that it's a Democratic op to
01:04:21.660 drive down enthusiasm on the right and get their candidates over the top to make Republicans feel
01:04:27.580 like there's no shot. They're going to lose whatever, you know, black pill people at home. 0.91
01:04:32.000 And you guys have been debating what's real. 1.00
01:04:36.000 And I know you've been looking at where are they spending their time and their money,
01:04:41.480 the Republican Party and its candidates?
01:04:44.600 Are they behaving in a way that tells us they think the polls showing the GOP poised for
01:04:52.200 disastrous midterms are fake?
01:04:54.800 And the answer to that, Andrew, is what?
01:04:57.560 Well, if you look where they're spending their money and where they're spending their time,
01:05:00.760 they are defending a smaller and smaller map is the way they are viewing it and especially when
01:05:08.020 you look at the president's travel there's two ways to view it one is that he's going out there
01:05:12.760 because he's got to shore up red states he was in alaska uh the other day he's been sort of in
01:05:18.740 texas three times states that you wouldn't think were in play so what part of it is that he's going
01:05:23.660 there to shore them up the other thing is that he's not really helpful in swing states he you
01:05:29.020 You know, there's a lot of reasons why he's not going to Maine, but why is he not in Michigan where they've got a shot?
01:05:34.160 And why is he not in some of the other states where it looks like the Republicans might be able to flip?
01:05:39.380 So, no, I think when you look at the money and you look, I mean, what did they spend?
01:05:43.240 The $5 million they sent into South Carolina?
01:05:46.680 You wouldn't have thought that would have happened a year ago.
01:05:50.280 Darlene Graham.
01:05:50.840 Darlene Graham's holding on by a thread.
01:05:53.440 So, yeah, I think when you look at that and you look at the polls, it's still worth it to look at the polls.
01:05:59.020 It's not looking good for the Republicans right now.
01:06:02.480 You know, Megan, I posted about this the other day because I was working on the website, updating the website.
01:06:08.180 And the headlines have just been terrible, right, for the GOP.
01:06:14.540 And I had another one today. Inflation was up, right?
01:06:17.400 And the last report we're going to get before the election, there was other polling about Latinos and on and on and on.
01:06:24.280 And I got a lot of blowback online from exactly in the exact vein that you talk about.
01:06:31.380 Oh, this is an op. The media is, you know, trying to depress, you know, turn out.
01:06:35.700 The polls are all bullshit. They're all fake, which I mean, honestly, even if you look at the polls, I mean, I think we were just talking about this earlier. 0.99
01:06:43.540 I think Trafalgar has a poll out and Insider Advantage both came out with polls showing what was it, Tallarico up in Texas or something like that.
01:06:51.640 Those are Republican leaning. Yeah. Republican leaning pollsters. But but even if you take you, you, you, you agree, OK, that the polls are wrong or that the media is biased against Republicans.
01:07:05.620 Trump is not going to Texas and Ohio and Alaska and Nebraska because, you know, the media is bullshit stories from the media or fake polls.
01:07:17.700 Republicans are not spending money in South Carolina, 8 million in Nebraska, 15 million in Iowa, pulling money out of North Carolina, out of Georgia, out of a lot of these House races.
01:07:28.160 That is not all happening because of some psyop that somebody's running against them.
01:07:33.200 That is happening because, as you point out, look, the two most important resources that the party has is time and money.
01:07:41.580 And all of those things, you want to know what's going on in a race, you follow the time and the money of the candidates.
01:07:46.960 And right now, that is all Republicans pouring money into trying to shore up these red states so they don't get washed away in a blue wave.
01:07:55.160 And maybe it's going to work and maybe it'll keep losses down, particularly in the Senate, so that Republicans will hold the Senate.
01:08:01.380 But if they weren't doing that, there's a chance that, you know, and there may still be a chance that the wave is big enough and it breaches those those firewalls and Republicans end up losing the Senate.
01:08:12.140 But that's where the race is right now, regardless of, you know, all the stuff about the media and the polls.
01:08:16.940 Well, Megan, forget the PSYOP rap, because that's just kind of crazy.
01:08:21.560 But Trump has under-polled every time he's run.
01:08:25.040 The pollsters can't.
01:08:26.120 And there is sort of a demonstrated unwillingness of certain mega people to respond to pollsters, especially media pollsters.
01:08:34.880 So that's what some of these Republicans and some of these analysts who are being cautious are looking at.
01:08:40.880 But the question you asked and what Andy said, I mean, here's a headline today.
01:08:46.080 And this, to me, sums up what Andy and Tom have been saying.
01:08:49.060 This was in the Daily Interlake.
01:08:51.600 That's a newspaper.
01:08:52.400 I believe it's in Kalispell, Montana.
01:08:54.500 Trump first sitting president to visit northwest Montana since Gerald Ford.
01:08:59.440 So the president states his time is precious.
01:09:01.840 He's going to Montana that he's not going to.
01:09:05.180 That tells me that they're playing defense in places they haven't played defense in years.
01:09:09.760 yeah but like i say it's it's also the fact that he's not helpful to some of these in some of these
01:09:16.580 races that are on the bubble they don't want to send the candidates don't want him in michigan
01:09:21.780 you know they don't want the democrats don't want kamala harris either we should say that
01:09:25.320 but yeah you know if you're running in a in a in a district or a state where you uh
01:09:31.500 that's not red um the president is liability so that's that's another reason why he's going to
01:09:37.820 places like texas he doesn't help susan collins if he goes to maine that's right exactly no god
01:09:44.060 no and michelle tafoya we did a story on her on am update on how she's actually in contention for
01:09:49.880 the minnesota governor job i mean you'd have to vote against her if you were replacing sorry yeah 0.66
01:09:56.240 uh senate you'd have to vote against her if you were playing you know the odds just because of
01:09:59.620 minnesota but she's got it within two points and she's given trump the strong heisman because it's 0.92
01:10:04.960 Minnesota. I mean, I don't think she has anything against Trump, but she needs to telegraph to the
01:10:08.920 Minnesota voters. I'm going to make my own decisions. You know, I'm not going to be a
01:10:13.040 lapdog for him. And Trump probably gets that and is fine with that, I think, because I think he'd
01:10:17.480 rather have the seat. These elections, midterm elections are base elections. And, you know,
01:10:22.640 if Trump goes to Minnesota, he's going to turn out the Democratic base. There are more Democrats
01:10:26.840 in Minnesota. So he's going to he's going to Texas. He's going to Nebraska because there are
01:10:32.140 more Republicans than there are Democrats. And he's trying to get these MAGA folks to go to the
01:10:37.020 polls. He's telling them everywhere. He goes, pretend I'm on the ballot, guys. You got to do
01:10:42.280 this for me. It's my last, you know, the last time you got to pretend like I'm on the ballot
01:10:46.160 and get your butt to the polls. If that happens, then Republicans will win all these races in
01:10:51.800 these red states. I don't I mean, I don't see that works because it's they know he's not on
01:10:57.320 the ballot. And the second thing is Trump's not as popular as he was when he ran in 2024. And
01:11:01.600 that kind of message. Like, people did get off their couches for Trump. They were so mad about
01:11:04.660 the lawfare. They were so impressed with how he got back up, notwithstanding all the cases against
01:11:09.100 him and the bullets. You know, it was like he was a very inspirational figure for many on the right
01:11:15.440 or center right. And now he's not. It's just his popularity has fallen considerably. The Iran war
01:11:20.480 alienated a lot of people. The Epstein thing. Like, there's been a few things. That's what 0.86
01:11:23.760 happens when you get into power. So I just, you know, I'm not sure. Pretend I'm on the ballot
01:11:28.960 is the way to get people out there.
01:11:32.080 But I also don't think the same Republican tropes,
01:11:35.180 they're not tropes, it's just lack of a better word,
01:11:38.060 are gonna motivate people.
01:11:38.980 Like the culture war stuff, people are pissed.
01:11:42.360 Like the Israel thing is big
01:11:44.400 and the normal things that will smear
01:11:48.880 a left-wing candidate as like too far left,
01:11:52.100 like this guy El Saeed,
01:11:53.300 like there's a family member
01:11:54.240 who's like pro-Muslim brotherhood.
01:11:56.140 And like, they don't care.
01:11:57.880 They don't care.
01:11:58.380 They think Mike Rogers is a neocon, that he's going to get us further entrenched in another Middle East war. 0.64
01:12:04.560 And there's just nothing you can say as a Republican to really ding the guy up, which is why I think El-Sayed probably is going to win.
01:12:12.020 That's my own two cents.
01:12:13.420 I don't know.
01:12:13.980 We talked about this.
01:12:14.860 I would bet he wins.
01:12:15.340 We talked about this on our show.
01:12:16.920 One of the debates that happened last night was in Iowa.
01:12:20.440 And Ashley Hinson came out, distanced herself from President Trump on the diesel deal.
01:12:24.700 She said, look, we need to lower diesel prices, but doing a deal with Putin is not the way to go about it.
01:12:29.720 But Turek's response to her was, well, the problem with diesel prices is that your president started a war in the Middle East, another forever war, and you voted seven times in the House not to put any constraints on him.
01:12:44.020 And that's fairly – first of all, it's a policy-based argument.
01:12:47.940 It's not a personality attack.
01:12:50.620 And second of all, I think it has traction.
01:12:52.120 I think I think that is a legitimate case to be made.
01:12:55.700 And so Republicans are in really difficult spots in all these races because of the economy, inflation, gas prices and the president and some of the choices that this president has made over the last two years.
01:13:09.100 Mm hmm. Yeah. I mean, I think most of us think about that war when we go to fill up our tank with diesel fuel or gasoline.
01:13:16.700 I always say diesel gas in my audience.
01:13:18.440 You don't have an electric car, Megan?
01:13:19.740 You haven't read a whole book on diesel, which he did.
01:13:21.420 No, no, I don't.
01:13:22.980 But Doug wrote a book on Rudolf Diesel, who is the guy behind the diesel engine and the reason we have diesel fuel.
01:13:28.120 And I always call it diesel gas, which is wrong.
01:13:30.180 And I'm sorry.
01:13:31.100 Anyway, I want to keep going because Harry Enten had some thoughts, though, that I thought this is legit and actually a genuine glimmer of hope for Republicans.
01:13:41.500 Not bullshit glimmer, but actual glimmer.
01:13:44.780 Here it is in Stop 15. 0.96
01:13:45.820 we've had really good democratic polls coming out from ohio michigan iowa and you know fool me once
01:13:53.800 shame on you fool me four times i just have to ask the question could it happen again because
01:13:59.000 just take a look at this okay midwest polling misses gop outperformed september polls by in
01:14:04.240 the major 2024 races that is president and senate in the states that had a senate race in iowa where
01:14:09.140 the democrats have been getting really good polls republicans outperformed their september polls by
01:14:13.040 nine points back in 2024. How about Ohio? Six points. How about Michigan? Five points. And I
01:14:18.820 will note that the leads that the Democrats have in all of these races right now are under how much
01:14:24.640 the GOP outperformed back in 2024. So you look at this and you go, you know what? Maybe we should
01:14:30.240 just hold on a second here because we've seen this dance before and it was not a dance that
01:14:35.600 Democrats like when the votes were actually cast in count. Fair point. No, no. You're saying no.
01:14:42.380 It's not apples to apples. It was 2024. Trump was on the ballot. I mean, that's the whole point. If you want to make a comparison, it's got to be to 2018. Republicans lost 40 House seats in that race, but they did pick up two Senate seats. That's sort of the analog here. You can't compare a presidential election year to a midterm year and say, well, you know, they overperformed because Trump was on the ballot and because people had-
01:15:07.180 OK, but wait, Harry Enten was ready for you.
01:15:10.080 He took a look at when Trump was not on the ballot in previous midterms.
01:15:15.040 Let's hear what the analysis was there.
01:15:16.960 So at 16, whether it be 2018, 2016, 2020, 2024, Republicans have outperformed their
01:15:24.860 September polls by at least five points in all these three states where Democrats right
01:15:29.900 now are ahead, but not by a wide enough margin whereby if Republicans outperform their September
01:15:35.360 polls again it could become very very interesting okay now overlay this on the current senate map
01:15:41.280 exactly right so this is where it all kind of comes together right okay let's just say that
01:15:46.560 the gop outperforms their midwest polls like they did in 2018 and 2024 well what do you get you get
01:15:52.000 a red michigan you get a red ohio you get a red iowa and all of a sudden even if democrats carry
01:15:58.160 states like texas georgia north carolina and alaska well guess what you get you get a 50 50 senate
01:16:03.760 with J.D. Vance casting the tie-breaking vote.
01:16:07.700 So if history holds in terms of the GOP
01:16:10.040 outperforming their September polls,
01:16:12.340 well, there's a very, very strong chance
01:16:14.140 that Republicans hold on the United States Senate,
01:16:15.920 even if Democrats win in places
01:16:17.180 they don't historically win in, like Texas.
01:16:20.100 Yeah.
01:16:20.940 Okay.
01:16:21.420 I mean, what say you to that, guys?
01:16:23.240 Well, I have one thought that I'd say,
01:16:25.780 and that is, you guys, you mentioned the Iran war
01:16:29.800 and how that's affecting gasoline prices
01:16:32.020 and public perceptions of the president.
01:16:33.760 Because it's precisely the kind of thing he said he wouldn't do.
01:16:36.680 But when I, at these rallies in places that we didn't think were competitive, Nebraska, Iowa, especially Kansas, people are like, they heckled Roger Marshall at his debate with Adam Hamilton.
01:16:51.260 And they talked about tariffs and these farm states and these northern tier border states, I'm talking about Maine and Michigan, but also these farm states, they're laying people off because of Trump's tariffs.
01:17:03.300 in Canada has retaliated against the United States. So has China. And if you have a president
01:17:08.300 whose policies are hurting you, and you voted for him, and you didn't see it coming. Now,
01:17:14.240 he talked about tariffs in the campaign. But I think that I think it's harder. I think,
01:17:19.660 Megan, I think it's harder to ignore these polls this year, because this is not personality.
01:17:24.440 Everybody knows how they feel about Trump personally. This is about they don't like
01:17:28.560 his policies anymore. And that's, to me, a difference. The other thing is that, you know,
01:17:33.960 you have to remember where we were in the spring when we were talking about these Senate races. I
01:17:37.660 mean, the idea was that the map so favored the Republicans that the Republicans would easily
01:17:42.500 hold the Senate. That was sort of the narrative in the spring. So, for someone to come out and
01:17:46.840 say, oh, you know, they're going to hold it, you know, 50-50, and they've still got Vice President
01:17:51.460 Vance, that's really the best news for Republicans right now? That's not the happy story that they
01:17:57.940 were hoping for. So what do you think is going to happen, Andy? Do you, like, if you had to
01:18:02.320 predict, I won't hold you to it, but like right now, do you think, do you think both the House
01:18:07.340 and the Senate are probably gone? I would, if I had to, if you had a gun to my head, I would say
01:18:11.700 yes. I would say yes. I think that. How about you, Carl? I try not to make predictions, but if I was 0.96
01:18:18.320 making a bet, that's not quite a prediction. I would, I would bet that the Republicans pick up
01:18:23.140 the seats they need to control the Senate and the House has been gone for some time. How about you,
01:18:27.140 Tom. Yeah, I think best case scenario in the Senate is 50-50, and it might get worse than that.
01:18:33.360 I mean, there's still a couple of weeks left, but like you look at these, you look at these
01:18:36.560 polls and look, I will concede the point, although we talked about it earlier. I mean,
01:18:41.240 you know, if you look at the pollsters, we're talking about Trafalgar, Insider Advantage,
01:18:47.440 Rasmussen. These are not Democratic leaning pollsters. These are guys who actually
01:18:53.480 got it wrong in 2018, more wrong than they did. They were right in 2020. They were right in 2024.
01:19:00.080 They were kind of off in 2018 because they were projecting a more Republican electorate than what
01:19:06.780 turned out that year. But these races are close. I mean, Tallarico is up two and a half points. I
01:19:13.160 think, you know, Turek's up like less than a point in Iowa. These are definitely races where
01:19:21.220 if the Republicans overperform their polls or the polls are under estimating Republican turnout
01:19:26.080 that you could see, you know, and the polls have margin of error. So it's not like it's not like
01:19:32.560 it's impossible that Republicans would would hold the Senate. There have been some people saying
01:19:36.960 they're going to pick up seats. I don't think that that doesn't seem very likely to me at all.
01:19:42.800 But it is a weird year. We were talking about this earlier. I mean, you've got you mentioned
01:19:45.700 Minnesota where, you know, somehow that race is a couple of points. New Hampshire somehow.
01:19:50.540 Because she's so likable. Michelle Tafoya is so likable. And she they all know her. She's famous. She's kind of like a Carrie Lake in that the locals know her. They've been seeing her face on TV as a very famous sportscaster. People like me don't know her because we don't watch sports. But everybody who watches sports knows Michelle Tafoya. And she's so cool. She's a great. And Peggy Flangen is a fucking nutcase. Sorry. Forgive me. Keep going. 0.64
01:20:13.560 Well, not only is she a nutcase, she's a left winger. She's not moderating at all. And she's tied to an administration that presided over a bunch of fraud. So you've got particular circumstances that are maybe making that race a little bit closer than it might otherwise be. But New Hampshire is closer than I think people thought, especially given where some of these other races are. 1.00
01:20:32.460 So but, yeah, Republicans, they're playing defense. And they're to your point, Megan, when you look at sort of the overall picture, is there any reason Democrats are still 100 percent running the Trump playbook?
01:20:45.100 They are foaming at the mouth once again to turn out against Trump, even though in the Senate, you know, two thirds of these terms are going to be decided, you know, are going to take place after Trump even leaves office.
01:20:55.940 But nevertheless, they're running against Trump and they're all excited, enthusiasm.
01:20:59.780 And on the Republican side, you've got you've got Republicans that are, you know, they're a little bit dispirited.
01:21:04.320 They're a little down. You know, the Rand war has divided or dampened enthusiasm for some of the rights.
01:21:09.740 So it's it's just kind of a perfect storm against Republicans.
01:21:13.180 You got some candidate quality issues on Team DOP, too.
01:21:16.260 Like I realized they thought Cornyn was too swampy, but Paxton is a mess.
01:21:21.780 He's just a mess.
01:21:23.160 It's like every piece of news you hear about him is negative.
01:21:26.780 He won't debate the guy.
01:21:27.940 He's like, why wouldn't you go out and try to make mincemeat of James Tallarico?
01:21:32.120 Like, obviously, he feels he cannot do it.
01:21:34.920 He can't do it, and he's too vulnerable given his own scandal. 0.99
01:21:40.280 So it's just, it's so depressing because that ridiculous person, the vegan, not vegan, 0.99
01:21:48.300 The thing I love most are trans children. 0.99
01:21:51.500 That guy, God is non-binary, is on track to win the seat to become the next U.S. senator
01:21:59.280 from the state of Texas, Andy. 1.00
01:22:00.520 It's like, I can't quite understand it.
01:22:04.300 But then I look over at Paxton, and I'm like, yeah, I'm starting to understand it.
01:22:07.540 Well, I think there's candidate-quality questions on both sides.
01:22:10.180 I mean, you can look at Michigan, you can look at Maine.
01:22:12.820 But I'm kind of used to that in the Dems.
01:22:14.580 Yeah, I guess it's true.
01:22:15.700 I guess the other thing that I'd say is that, just to defend my pessimistic view for the Republicans, is that you have three weeks left, right?
01:22:24.760 So you've less than three weeks.
01:22:26.740 All the trends, though, are going against the Republicans.
01:22:30.580 Tom has been focused on the price of gas.
01:22:34.420 The price of gas is not going to come down sufficient between now and Election Day to make a difference.
01:22:39.360 It doesn't seem to me.
01:22:40.540 Nothing is going to change on the war front.
01:22:42.080 And the White House continues to every week surprise us with stories that have nothing to do with the economy or that show that they, you know, give a damn about sort of affordability.
01:22:54.900 So you can just, if you were going to straight line the future and you'd say, what's going to happen out of the White House in the next, between now and the election?
01:23:02.820 You can't predict what it's going to be, but it's not going to be good.
01:23:07.460 We know that from the past.
01:23:08.640 And so I just, as you say, the White House continues to surprise us with stories.
01:23:14.880 Let's finish on the new press secretary, Katie Zakaria.
01:23:20.360 Look, I defended her yesterday because I think she deserves a chance. 0.99
01:23:24.840 She's got to get used to the big seat.
01:23:26.260 And of course she was nervous, like anyone would be.
01:23:29.400 No one could be ever be worse than Karija Javier.
01:23:31.720 Truly, I don't think anyone could ever be worse than she was.
01:23:33.840 And we were told she's amazing.
01:23:35.040 And that if we don't think that we're racist and sexist and bigoted against gay people.
01:23:38.640 Um, so I'm going to give this gal a chance. However, day two, there's another news story
01:23:45.140 about her. That's not great. Apparently she did graduate from Pepperdine undergrad and Pepperdine
01:23:51.740 law school, but you are not actually a lawyer until you've passed the bar exam. You may have
01:23:58.320 a JD, um, but you're not actually a lawyer until you pass the bar exam. And I guess she worked, 0.59
01:24:05.700 she said she held herself out as the general counsel of a nonprofit run by Rick Grinnell in
01:24:12.740 California. And yet she has apparently not passed the bar except in China. So one of the members,
01:24:24.760 I mean, like, of course that doesn't count here. Like you, hello. So here, somebody asked her
01:24:31.880 about this on two, on, um, yesterday, Tuesday, SOC 22. So she's not practicing law at the
01:24:56.700 press secretary lectern. But it's a crime to say that you're to practice law without having passed
01:25:06.000 the bar. So if, in fact, she was acting as general counsel for this nonprofit, there could be some
01:25:11.060 trouble there. But here we are on day two and she's getting, you know, the colonoscopy that
01:25:16.640 no Democrat press secretary has ever gotten, Tom Bevin. And I'm sure they're not done with her.
01:25:23.180 uh no they're not done with her and we'll see i mean i look i did the website this morning it was
01:25:29.940 like looking for stories and combing through stories there was not a single positive story
01:25:33.100 on her anywhere i mean i couldn't find it um it wasn't a great start and i like you megan i mean
01:25:40.220 this is the toughest job it is hard uh and you know caroline levitt actually made it look pretty
01:25:46.560 easy and so i think she struggles it's hard to follow caroline yeah it struggles in comparison
01:25:52.280 to Caroline. And to your point, I agree. I think Karine Jean-Pierre was one of the worst
01:25:59.580 press secretaries that I've certainly ever seen. Carl goes much further back with some of these
01:26:05.500 individuals. But I think it shows that she wasn't vetted. I'd never even heard her name. She wasn't
01:26:13.700 on any list that I had seen. Where did she come from? Me neither. Mark Halperin. Did you see Mark
01:26:18.900 Calprin's tweet today. He tweeted out, I think it was least vetted of any major administration
01:26:26.500 official ever. Perhaps. And that clip you just played showed it. Trump kind of turned around
01:26:32.540 like he didn't know. And she was like, China. And he was kind of like, OK, let's wrap this up and
01:26:37.240 move along. Well, they not. Also, they didn't prepare for it. Not only did not bet it, the
01:26:43.600 whole thing had a slapdash quality to it, like they'd given her 45 minutes notice. Now, Susan
01:26:48.840 crabtree who you know megan she's she lives in southern california covers national politics for 0.99
01:26:54.020 she she knew katie um sakaria but she you know she's just she wasn't a presence in washington
01:26:59.880 and she looked um she looked nervous i mean just to use the obvious word but also they have her
01:27:07.160 reading this script that's just absurd and and you know trump trump's ended trump's one day war
01:27:14.200 that he ended it you know i presume they mean venezuela and you know saying all the things
01:27:18.540 that trump said if he was willing to give that job to a fully developed political person with savvy
01:27:24.560 like uh scott um jennings jennings jennings on cnn you know scott would say well i'm not going to
01:27:31.600 say this i'll give the president credit but i'm not gonna this this fawning silly stuff is doesn't
01:27:36.440 help you sir but she doesn't have the stature to do that and so she just sort of reads this thing 0.99
01:27:41.180 And then realize she's in over her head and bails. And I felt for her. I don't really blame her. I don't think she was prepared. I think she was set up to fail. And I don't think it's almost cruel.
01:27:53.220 Here's what I think, though. I think Trump, there's no one better at assessing talent
01:27:57.140 on television than Trump. Like he is a very effective judge of it. And so I think he's
01:28:03.240 seen something in her behind the scenes that he thinks is promising, which is why I think just
01:28:08.800 hold your fire. You know, like, let's see if she can do it. He is a very good judge of that kind 0.86
01:28:13.540 of thing. No one ever heard of Caroline Levitt either. No one knew who Caroline Levitt was. It
01:28:17.300 was like, isn't she the girl who does like some tweets for his campaign? She wasn't a star. She
01:28:21.720 wasn't somebody we were all like, oh yeah. Um, and she, she was a start now she had a much better
01:28:26.840 start than this gal did, but it's early. Like I I'm going to wait and see. And the more negative
01:28:32.740 articles they write about her on, it's not great if she practiced law without a, without a license, 1.00
01:28:37.120 that's, that's a problem. Um, it's not exactly relevant to whether she can be the press secretary, 0.88
01:28:41.840 but the more they pile on her on the left wing media, the more I'm rooting for her. Um, that's 1.00
01:28:46.800 just the way it works. I think for most people who lean right. So we'll see, we'll see. All right.
01:28:51.060 Last but not least, can anyone tell me who Jamie West is?
01:28:55.120 Do you know that name?
01:28:56.200 Jamie West?
01:28:57.400 Jamie West?
01:28:58.260 You do know who it is, even if you don't know, you know.
01:29:02.540 If you don't know, you know, you know.
01:29:04.120 You do know.
01:29:05.340 Jamie West is a Democrat running for, now it's going to become familiar.
01:29:10.160 Oh, that woman who was drunk?
01:29:11.700 Fayette County Council.
01:29:13.140 Yeah.
01:29:13.660 Yep.
01:29:14.360 All right.
01:29:15.540 In Indiana.
01:29:17.380 Oh, poor thing. 1.00
01:29:18.320 And she's soon to become a household name, gents. 1.00
01:29:22.020 Here's a bit of how that went. 1.00
01:29:24.800 Poor, poor Jamie.
01:29:26.680 And that's what I have to say about that.
01:29:29.260 Okay.
01:29:30.100 And our last question of the night is, if elected, what is one decision that you expect to make that may be unpopular with some voters, but you believe ultimately would be in the best interest of Fayette County?
01:29:42.480 Hmm.
01:29:43.900 I wouldn't raise your taxes.
01:29:45.400 What is the one decision that I would make
01:29:50.560 Repeat that again
01:29:55.060 What is the one decision that I would make
01:29:56.620 That might not be popular
01:29:57.920 That may be unpopular with some voters
01:30:01.040 But is in the best interest of the county
01:30:02.820 Firing all Republicans
01:30:08.520 I wouldn't let them 0.99
01:30:10.400 I mean
01:30:11.020 I don't even talk to them
01:30:13.760 I don't like them
01:30:14.440 I mean, they voted against our own state representative voted against her own party.
01:30:22.780 I mean, what do you want me to say?
01:30:26.880 I don't like being around them.
01:30:28.600 I mean, y'all did this to us.
01:30:31.260 You all voted for us.
01:30:32.380 You made this happen, this ICE coming into our communities, stealing people's jobs.
01:30:39.520 I mean, I've been threatened so many times to my face by MAGA, we'll call them.
01:30:51.680 Because there's Republicans who actually get it, you know.
01:30:58.340 There are good Republicans out there. 0.96
01:31:00.380 But then there's these MAGAs who are just racist and aren't very intelligent at all. 0.99
01:31:08.740 they call you names they try my you know sheriff's nephew trying to blow my head off 0.98
01:31:15.740 but you know what are you gonna do well that brings us to um your opportunity to
01:31:22.020 say just a few last words to um to the voters
01:31:25.820 we have guns too all right 1.00
01:31:32.800 she's like a like a super partisan shit-faced forrest gump 0.99
01:31:39.380 that's all i have to say about that the best is the moderator all right okay having to keep a 0.99
01:31:48.920 straight face across from that that that's like the the drunk parody that i will sometimes do
01:31:55.740 fire all republicans i don't even want to talk to them i don't like them 0.96
01:32:01.740 y'all did this to us you did this to us 0.99
01:32:05.380 oh man she's comically bigoted megan but she's also dangerous we have guns too that's a very 0.99
01:32:15.420 ominous thing for a drunk to say so do we do we feel that this is the end of her campaign guys 0.95
01:32:25.000 Just based on your experience as political pundits, I'm going to go ahead and say if she got this far, she's probably going to all the way. 0.98
01:32:32.300 I think the Democrats are cleaner and running for Senate. 0.96
01:32:37.860 Why stop there? 0.95
01:32:39.500 She could be Kamala Harris's running mate. 1.00
01:32:41.260 She'd make her look sober. 0.99
01:32:43.680 Well, they would they would they would need to buy the Chardonnay in bulk for that.
01:32:47.160 That would be.
01:32:49.740 You got to go for the full Franzia box wine on that.
01:32:52.520 Just one little bottle.
01:32:53.860 Ain't going to do it.
01:32:54.840 Well, good luck, Jamie.
01:32:55.880 Good luck.
01:32:56.260 As Joe Biden said, good luck in your senior year.
01:32:58.880 That was the best thing we got from Joe Biden.
01:33:00.400 What's that saying?
01:33:01.320 Gentlemen, a pleasure.
01:33:02.700 Thanks for being here.
01:33:03.940 Thanks, Megan.

01:34:26.440 Our sponsor, the Electronic Payments Coalition, says Washington politicians are always getting
01:34:31.840 in your wallet, and now they're messing with your credit card. They say your credit card and
01:34:36.440 the security it offers are under attack, and that Senators Dick Durbin and Roger Marshall want to

01:34:57.060 Coalition says the Durbin Marshall mandates would let corporate megastores cut corners on credit

01:37:21.240 A California parole board has just considered parole once again for a former Los Angeles police
01:37:29.080 detective convicted of murdering her ex-lover's new wife more than 40 years ago. MK Confidential
01:37:36.860 listeners will remember Stephanie Lazarus was convicted in 2012 of killing Sherry Rasmussen. 0.98
01:37:43.880 Sherry was shot three times in her Van Nuys condominium in 1986. Sherry had married John
01:37:50.900 Rutten, a former love interest of the disgraced cop who would turn into a murderer just three
01:37:58.940 months earlier. And Stephanie was obsessed with John and very angry at his new wife for existing.
01:38:06.820 The case went unsolved for decades until DNA from a bite mark on the victim ultimately was used to
01:38:15.020 link Lazarus to the killing. Technology and science progressed, and eventually they realized
01:38:21.660 they might be able to use that bite mark to actually find the killer, and realized cops did.
01:38:27.660 It was one of their own. In 2023, Lazarus admitted to the murder for the first time in an effort to
01:38:34.000 get herself paroled. Last Friday, she was back in front of the parole board, and back again was
01:38:41.100 Sherry's sister, Connie, who joins me now, and she was part of our MK Confidential series on this,
01:38:47.520 along with Jessica and Rachel, who are Stephanie's, I'm sorry, forgive me, who are Sherry's nieces.
01:38:56.040 Thank you all so much for joining me. Connie, great to see you again. So once again, you and
01:39:02.360 Rachel, I know you too have been going to each one of these, making sure that the parole board
01:39:08.160 understands while Stephanie Lazarus says she's sorry now and purports to take responsibility
01:39:13.800 for killing Sherry now, it's always half measures. She always says only enough that she thinks will
01:39:21.740 get her a pass from the parole board, but never takes full accountability. So before we get to
01:39:27.780 how it all went, let me start with you, Rachel, because I haven't met you yet, even though
01:39:31.940 you were just a baby when your aunt was killed. And I know she adored you and held you in her arms
01:39:36.620 and loved you. What did you tell the parole board to convince them not to let this woman out?
01:39:42.600 My biggest takeaway and ask from the parole board was that she has not demonstrated rehabilitation. 0.88
01:39:48.820 She's done numerous programming, all the classes she can do, all the things that she can checklist
01:39:53.960 off, but she's not able to internalize and demonstrate that she understands anything
01:39:58.540 that she's learned in therapy or her classes. She continues to minimize. She continues to
01:40:03.920 do image management and manipulate the system and the people around her. And so I've asked that she
01:40:09.840 can't be let back into the community because she still has a public safety risk, because she still
01:40:15.180 can't be honest and is still unable to internalize what she did. And I know you, Jessica, this is
01:40:25.140 your aunt who was murdered. And I know you told them, because I'm reading here from your statement,
01:40:28.860 if Lazarus continues minimizing the obsession, stalking and escalation that preceded Sherry's
01:40:36.340 murder, how can those closest to her recognize those warning signs if they appear again? I think
01:40:43.220 that's such a great point that she is very clearly able to hide her sociopathy in a way that 0.99
01:40:51.180 innocent civilians may not be able to detect. Yes. Also those closest to her. So her support 0.97
01:40:59.560 group support system that she is claiming that she has, if she does receive parole, are
01:41:07.260 only hearing her minimization, not the full extent of her heinous crimes. So how would they
01:41:15.720 know what to be looking for if they don't know what really happened and she's minimizing everything
01:41:23.200 that she has done because the thing is connie she's clever this one's clever and she was smart 0.99
01:41:29.900 enough to evade detection for some two decades so we're not dealing with some dope who can't figure 0.99
01:41:36.540 out how to fool others about who she really is. Correct. She has used every opportunity to
01:41:47.020 appeal her conviction, even though she knew she did it. She continues to use every opportunity to
01:41:55.240 get earlier parole hearings. The last hearing, we were granted a three-year review, but we were
01:42:05.220 back in 18 months. So we know that we're confronted with somebody that knows the system.
01:42:11.100 So we've had to educate ourselves about the system and how we can fight for justice for Sherry.
01:42:18.600 And I know one of the things that you all have been doing is reading and playing the video of,
01:42:25.340 if you can, the thoughts of your granddad, Connie's and Sherry's father, who fought so tirelessly to
01:42:34.080 find her killer. He's since passed as has Connie's mom and Sherry's mom, but, and Teresa, who's not
01:42:40.480 with us today, that's your other sister, but his, his words have carried through because he made it
01:42:46.440 his life's mission to make sure that the killer was caught. And once we knew it was Stephanie
01:42:50.940 Lazarus, Rachel, that she would stay behind bars. Um, and ultimately you did get a ruling from the 0.52
01:42:57.680 parole board on Friday and what did they say? They denied her parole for three years. They did
01:43:05.920 ask her to continue with her programming because they still think that she continues with the 0.97
01:43:09.420 minimization and criminal thinking. Thank God. But the problem here, Connie, we talked about this 1.00
01:43:15.600 the last time, is even though they denied it, you guys are never able to heave a sigh of relief
01:43:22.060 because this woman continues to work the system aggressively like somebody who operated inside of 0.98
01:43:28.620 it for decades. Yes. She, well, when we see her three years, we know now that it's going to be 1.00
01:43:35.620 18 months. So we have at least 18 months to take a breath and live our lives, but know that we will
01:43:42.260 be back to fight, you know, for justice. And we continue to reach out to certainly all Sherry's
01:43:53.040 friends, her colleagues at the hospitals that she worked at. I even have continued to reach out to
01:44:01.400 mom and dad's friends that are still with us and they continue to fight and we will continue to
01:44:07.880 fight for justice for Sherry. We have to stay on it because public pressure on the parole board
01:44:16.420 and ultimately if we need it on Gavin Newsom to not allow her early release is important. And I
01:44:23.020 know that's what you three are doing here. That's what you've been doing. I thank you all for coming
01:44:27.380 on and keeping us abreast of the latest. We do not want this woman getting out of prison even 1.00
01:44:32.500 one day early. All the best to you and your whole family. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
01:44:37.880 Wow. It's an amazing series. If you want to hear it and watch it on MK Confidential,
01:44:43.540 it's on our website now. You can see it on our YouTube feed or on our podcast feed,
01:44:46.900 and we will continue to stay on it so that this woman does not get out early.
01:44:51.080 Thank you all so much for joining us today. We will see you tomorrow.
01:44:54.780 Send me an email on what you think of the show, megan at megankelly.com.
01:44:59.560 Thanks for listening to The Megan Kelly Show. No BS, no agenda, and no fear.
