00:00:13.800 President Trump names possible successors of the MAGA movement. Former staffers to Senator
00:00:18.960 John Fetterman go on the record with New York Magazine, sharing a series of alarming claims
00:00:23.720 about his behavior, health, and state of mind.
00:00:26.480 Of course, they will never forgive me for lots of things. I would love reconciliation
00:00:31.000 with my family.
00:00:32.700 And Prince Harry says he is ready to reconcile with his family, whom he's called racist and
00:00:39.440 suggested were apathetic about his wife's alleged suicidal thoughts. Huh. All that and more
00:00:45.800 coming up in just a moment on your AM Update.

00:02:02.560 President Trump on Sunday sitting down with Meet the Press in a wide-ranging interview
00:02:06.800 covering topics from the economy to the future of the MAGA movement. Mr. Trump giving the clearest
00:02:12.080 response to date about running for a third term. Are you seriously considering a third term,
00:02:18.560 Mr. President, even though it's prohibited by the Constitution? Or is this about
00:02:22.040 staying politically viable? I will say this. So many people want me to do it.
00:02:27.300 But this is not something I'm looking to do. I'm looking to have four great years and turn it over
00:02:33.400 to somebody, ideally a great Republican, a great Republican to carry it forward.
00:02:39.120 You look at Marco, you look at J.D. Vance, who's fantastic. You look at,
00:02:43.320 I could name 10, 15, 20 people right now just sitting here.
00:02:47.220 The president then comparing the GOP to the current Democrat Party.
00:02:51.120 And you know what I can't name? I can't name one Democrat. I mean,
00:02:54.700 I look at the Democrats, they're in total disarray. They have a new person named Crockett.
00:02:59.900 I watched her speak the other day. She's definitely a low IQ person.
00:03:04.200 And they said, she's the future of the party. I said, you have to be kidding.
00:03:09.380 I don't know what they're going to do. But I watched Bernie Sanders. He's a nut job,
00:03:13.400 but he's still sharp. He's sharp as he's the same guy he was.
00:03:17.400 Host Kristen Welker asking President Trump about comments he made last week
00:03:21.080 regarding whether the tariff plan could lead to empty store shelves.
00:03:25.400 President Trump responding, quote, maybe children will have two dolls instead of 30 dolls.
00:03:30.460 Maybe the two dolls will cost a couple of bucks more than they normally would.
00:03:33.760 The comments igniting a media firestorm.
00:03:36.980 If I wake up on Christmas morning and I run downstairs to find only two dolls under my tree,
00:03:44.340 I will lose my effing mind.
00:03:46.800 So Donnie two dolls thinks this country's kids are wildly oversupplied with dolls.
00:03:53.820 The golden toilet guy is now preaching minimalism.
00:03:56.880 Imagine if that had been Donald Trump's 2024 campaign message.
00:04:00.020 You already have too much crap. You spoiled brats.
00:04:03.760 The New York Post's cover story the following day, skimp on the Barbie.
00:04:08.340 On Sunday, President Trump doubling down on the comment.
00:04:11.280 A quote, I'm going to quote what you said.
00:04:13.020 Maybe the children will have two dolls instead of 30 dolls.
00:04:16.140 Yeah.
00:04:16.380 And maybe the two dolls will cost a couple of bucks more than they would normally.
00:04:19.940 Are you saying that your tariffs will cause some prices to go up?
00:04:25.020 No, I think your tariffs are going to be great for us because it's going to make us rich.
00:04:28.520 But you said some dolls are going to cost more.
00:04:30.280 Isn't that an acknowledgement that some prices will go up?
00:04:33.140 I don't think a beautiful baby girl needs, that's 11 years old, needs to have 30 dolls.
00:04:40.140 I think they can have three dolls or four dolls.
00:04:43.400 Because what we were doing with China was just unbelievable.
00:04:46.680 We had a trade deficit of hundreds of billions of dollars with China.
00:04:51.400 When you say they could have three dolls instead of 30 dolls, are you saying your Americans could see empty store shelves?
00:04:58.520 No, I'm not saying that.
00:05:00.340 I'm just saying they don't need to have 30 dolls.
00:05:02.440 They can have three.
00:05:03.160 They don't need to have 250 pencils.
00:05:05.240 They can have five.
00:05:06.040 On Canada, President Trump reacting to the re-election of Liberal Prime Minister Mark Carney.
00:05:12.040 After his victory, he says that you didn't talk to him in that call about making Canada a 51st state.
00:05:18.100 No, he called me.
00:05:19.040 He was very nice and I congratulated him.
00:05:21.380 Do you plan to talk to him about making Canada a 51st state?
00:05:23.520 He wants to come and see me.
00:05:24.640 He's going to come this week or next week.
00:05:26.280 So will you talk to him about making Canada a 51st state annexing Canada?
00:05:29.960 I'll always talk about that.
00:05:30.940 You know why?
00:05:31.500 We subsidize Canada to the tune of $200 billion a year.
00:05:38.140 We don't need their cars.
00:05:39.680 In fact, we don't want their cars.
00:05:41.380 We don't need their energy.
00:05:42.920 We don't even want their energy.
00:05:44.380 We have more than they do.
00:05:45.620 We don't want their lumber.
00:05:47.400 We have great lumber.
00:05:48.540 All I have to do is free it up from the environmental lunatics.
00:05:51.600 We don't need anything that they have.
00:05:53.360 Mr. Trump going on to say taking Canada by military force is unlikely.
00:05:58.360 Quote, I don't see it with Canada.
00:06:00.560 I just don't see it.
00:06:02.320 Prime Minister Carney is expected to meet with President Trump at the White House on Tuesday,
00:06:06.380 marking his first official visit since taking office in March.
00:06:10.660 Coming up, an in-depth hit piece on Senator John Fetterman.
00:06:15.140 Why now?
00:06:16.420 And Prince Harry launches fresh shots at his family while also saying he'd like to reconcile with them.
00:06:22.200 Sure H.
00:06:27.880 One in two adults have high blood pressure, and many don't even know it.

00:07:27.320 On Friday, New York Magazine dropping a lengthy hit piece based off testimony from former staff
00:07:32.840 raising questions about Senator John Fetterman's struggles with his health and overall fitness for office.
00:07:38.380 Democrat Senator from Pennsylvania, John Fetterman, rising to national fame in a highly contentious 2022 Senate race
00:07:46.040 against Republican candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz, then-candidate Fetterman suffering a stroke
00:07:51.640 just days before the Pennsylvania primary.
00:07:54.460 His campaign acknowledged the incident, but critics later accused the team, including his wife, Giselle Fetterman,
00:07:59.860 of downplaying the severity and withholding key details about his long-term health.
00:08:04.480 Concerns about Mr. Fetterman's health and fitness for office coming into sharper focus
00:08:08.620 during his one debate against Dr. Oz, where Mr. Fetterman clearly struggled with auditory processing and communication.
00:08:16.400 Hi. Good night, everybody. I'm running to serve Pennsylvania. He's running to use Pennsylvania.
00:08:23.360 Despite the health issues, Mr. Fetterman narrowly eking out a win, capturing 51% of the vote.
00:08:29.320 In 2023, Senator Fetterman checked into Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for six weeks,
00:08:36.040 seeking treatment for depression.
00:08:38.280 Many at the time praised Mr. Fetterman for seeking the help he needed.
00:08:41.880 In May of 2024, a year after he checked out of Walter Reed,
00:08:47.040 Chief of Staff Adam Jentleson resigned from his post,
00:08:50.980 citing his alleged alarm at Senator Fetterman's behavior
00:08:54.040 and sending at that time an email to the senator's doctor outlining a series of concerns.
00:09:00.720 Mr. Jentleson, at some point in the future, also reached out to Ben Terrace of New York Magazine,
00:09:06.260 the author of this latest piece.
00:09:08.440 Mr. Terrace describes the former chief of staff as, quote,
00:09:11.020 a longtime Washington operator.
00:09:13.000 He's worked for a liberal think tank and written a book about the filibuster.
00:09:16.920 Mr. Terrace says he met Mr. Jentleson back when Jentleson worked for Harry Reid,
00:09:21.500 saying, quote, we later became friends.
00:09:22.880 At some point, Mr. Jentleson apparently shared with Mr. Terrace
00:09:26.660 the text of the email he sent back in May of 24
00:09:30.560 to Senator Fetterman's doctor outlining his concerns.
00:09:34.840 From the New York Magazine piece, quote,
00:09:37.300 it contained a list of them, from the seemingly mundane, quote,
00:09:41.320 he eats fast food multiple times a day, end quote,
00:09:43.980 to the scary, quote, we don't know if he's taking his meds,
00:09:47.320 and his behavior frequently suggests he is not, end quote.
00:09:50.920 Going on to say, quote,
00:09:52.180 we often see the kind of warning signs we discussed.
00:09:55.560 Jentleson wrote the physician, conspiratorial thinking, megalomania.
00:09:59.740 For example, he claims to be the most knowledgeable source on Israel and Gaza around,
00:10:03.980 but his sources are just what he reads in the news.
00:10:06.860 He declines most briefings and never reads memos.
00:10:09.700 High highs and low lows, long, rambling, repetitive, and self-centered monologues,
00:10:14.960 lying in ways that are painfully, awkwardly obvious to everyone in the room, end quote.
00:10:19.640 The profile describes an incident where Senator Fetterman was driving a car against the wishes
00:10:24.640 of his staff well over the 70-mile-per-hour speed limit when he smashed his Chevy Traverse
00:10:30.260 into the back of a 62-year-old woman's Impala, totaling both cars.
00:10:35.420 Mrs. Fetterman, a passenger in the back seat suffering from bruising of the lungs and spinal
00:10:40.200 fractures.
00:10:41.420 Senator Fetterman calling a staffer from the crash site, saying he fell asleep while driving.
00:10:45.620 The officer on scene told the staffer it was a miracle no one died.
00:10:50.360 While some of the stories from staff involved safety issues, some also involved political
00:10:54.780 issues, leading to questions about whether this attack is politically motivated.
00:11:00.000 As a senator, Mr. Fetterman has repeatedly defied Democratic norms.
00:11:04.260 In the wake of October 7, 2023, Senator Fetterman becoming the most outspoken Democrat supporter
00:11:09.520 of Israel's war on Hamas.
00:11:11.340 Mr. Fetterman lining his office with the photos of hostages kidnapped by Hamas, that support
00:11:17.700 leading to 16 of his staff members to quit and eventually write an anonymous letter calling
00:11:24.000 the senator's support for Israel, quote, a gutting betrayal.
00:11:27.540 Washington Examiner reporter Selena Zito, who has been following Senator Fetterman for a long
00:11:32.120 time, arguing on Fox his Senate staff does not understand his politics.
00:11:36.900 But I think that these staffers didn't have a fundamental understanding of who John Fetterman
00:11:42.440 was before he had his stroke and was recovering from that and his depression.
00:11:48.300 And, you know, leading up to 2022, Fetterman has always been a very independent elected official,
00:11:56.120 whether he was mayor or lieutenant governor of the state.
00:12:00.280 He's never really been the darling of his party.
00:12:02.900 If I remember correctly, his party's never even endorsed him when he's run for office.
00:12:08.320 Senator Fetterman, also the only Democrat to meet with President-elect Trump back at Mar-a-Lago.
00:12:14.300 The sole vote to confirm Attorney General Pam Bondi as well, and initially signaling support
00:12:19.360 for Pete Hegseth as defense secretary.
00:12:22.100 Despite internal pressure, Mr. Fetterman told his staff he thought it would be a bad look for
00:12:26.260 all Dems to vote against the person who would lead the armed forces.
00:12:29.760 In the end, he did not vote for him.
00:12:31.180 According to New York Magazine, the decision caused such internal stress,
00:12:35.300 Mr. Fetterman even floated not voting at all.
00:12:38.400 More from the piece.
00:12:39.440 Quote, the back and forth led to what one person in his office at the time called a full-blown
00:12:43.960 meltdown.
00:12:44.980 According to a contemporaneous text message from this staffer sent to a colleague,
00:12:50.020 Fetterman had become so distraught about the Hegseth vote, as well as chatter in the media,
00:12:54.320 that he might switch parties and become a Republican,
00:12:56.620 that he spent part of the day locked in his office, fighting with Giselle, and crying while
00:13:02.020 FaceTiming with staff.
00:13:03.620 He says that they are trying to cancel him again, but we don't know who they are, a staffer said
00:13:09.780 in a text.
00:13:11.020 The piece describing many more incidents and seeming personality imbalances.
00:13:14.820 Mrs. Fetterman telling the magazine any comments from the former chief of staff were part of an
00:13:20.000 effort to damage her husband's reputation, claiming that she, quote, would talk to John's
00:13:25.520 doctors about what Adam Jentleson was telling me, and they would be confused.
00:13:30.900 Those doctors would tell me that their concerns were not with John, but with Adam.
00:13:35.060 Senator Fetterman declining to comment on the allegations against him, quote,
00:13:39.840 he said that no one in his staff would know about his personal health situation and that
00:13:43.820 anyone who told me otherwise was simply misinformed, wrote Terrace.
00:13:48.160 Quote, there's not really anything to respond when that's just not accurate, he said.
00:13:53.900 Mr. Fetterman is not up for re-election until 2028.
00:13:56.740 Prince Harry, fresh off of leaving his royal duties and then losing his legal battle to
00:14:03.720 keep his UK taxpayer-funded security, firing new shots at the royal family, what else is
00:14:09.960 new?
00:14:10.500 Then insisting that he really, really wants reconciliation.
00:14:14.560 On Friday, a senior UK judge rejecting Prince Harry's appeal in a case challenging a 2020
00:14:19.500 decision downgrading his security status after stepping back from royal duties.
00:14:23.940 Prince Harry argued that his security was unfairly downgraded after he quit being a working royal,
00:14:31.020 leaving him and his family vulnerable while in the UK.
00:14:35.000 According to the court's judgment, the judge acknowledged Harry made, quote, powerful and
00:14:39.260 moving arguments, but concluded, quote, the Duke's sense of grievance does not translate
00:14:44.400 into a legal argument.
00:14:46.500 The court ultimately finding that changes to his security were, quote, an understandable and
00:14:50.900 perhaps predictable reaction to the Duke of Sussex having stepped back from royal duties
00:14:55.860 and having left the UK to live principally overseas.
00:14:59.820 The prince, who has his own private security and plenty of money for more if he wants it,
00:15:06.680 visibly agitated on Friday, describing to the BBC the terms of the arrangement.
00:15:11.360 If you're invited to the UK by your family, then we will give you security.
00:15:16.040 If you come for any other reason, then you will get a very low amount of security.
00:15:22.720 I'm not going to confirm what that is, but it is completely insufficient.
00:15:25.620 Somewhere along the line, people have talked about the fact that it really,
00:15:28.600 all it is is someone on the end of a phone.
00:15:30.620 So, you know, no matter how much private security I have around me, there's only so much that
00:15:36.480 I can do and operate and function within the UK when it comes to supporting my charities,
00:15:42.460 visiting my friends, all of these things.
00:15:44.760 I've been treated very, very, very differently.
00:15:48.500 The prince then saying the security arrangement was effectively a form of blackmail meant to
00:15:52.500 pressure him into staying in the royal family.
00:15:54.660 And it makes me really, really sad that we're sitting here today, five years later,
00:15:59.200 where a decision that was made most likely, in fact, I know, to keep us under the roof.
00:16:04.780 But then once you realise that that wasn't going to work, once they realise that, you know,
00:16:09.780 myself, my wife and our kids are happier outside of the institution,
00:16:14.640 then please just look at the facts, look at the risks, look at the threat, look at the impact
00:16:19.180 that if anything was to happen to me, my wife or my father's grandchildren,
00:16:23.840 if anything was to happen to them, look where the responsibility lies.
00:16:28.100 There's a duty of care that has been completely thrown out the window.
00:16:31.720 The prince casting himself, yet again, as a victim, saying if anything were to happen to him,
00:16:37.500 it would ruin the reputation of the UK.
00:16:40.040 Whether I have an official role or not is irrelevant to the security that the security needs that I
00:16:47.840 would need.
00:16:49.120 Whether I have an official role or not is irrelevant to the threats, risks and impact
00:16:54.680 on the reputation of the UK if something was to happen.
00:16:58.780 Since stepping back from royal duties, Prince Harry and his attention-seeking wife, Meghan Markle,
00:17:04.180 attempting to create a new empire in the media world.
00:17:07.260 The couple airing out the royal family's dirty laundry across every platform available.
00:17:11.660 Multiple podcasts, a memoir accompanied by a media blitz, reportedly earning them some
00:17:17.360 $150 million, which also included a Netflix deal.
00:17:21.880 They kicked it all off in 2021 with Oprah Winfrey and this moment.
00:17:26.840 There are several conversations about it.
00:17:27.900 There's a conversation with you.
00:17:31.560 With Harry.
00:17:33.060 About how dark your baby is going to be?
00:17:37.540 Potentially and what that would mean or look like.
00:17:39.600 Oh, and you're not going to tell me who had the conversation?
00:17:42.960 I think that would be very damaging to them.
00:17:45.180 Okay, so how does one have that meaning?
00:17:48.760 That was relayed to me from Harry.
00:17:50.840 Those were conversations that family had with him.
00:17:54.120 It was really hard to be able to see those as compartmentalized conversations.
00:17:57.720 Because they were concerned that if you were too brown, that that would be a problem?
