The Megyn Kelly Show - Waltz Out Amid Security Counsel Shakeup, Bombshell HHS Report on Gender Treatments： AM Update 5⧸2

00:00:00.000 Good morning, everyone. I'm Megan Kelly. It's Friday, May 2nd, 2025, and this is your AM

00:00:08.560 Update. The West Wing's unhappy, the State Department, the Treasury, unhappiness. And

00:00:12.980 of course, this was around before Signal Gate. Embattled National Security Advisor Mike

00:00:17.320 Walsh ousted from his post, but secures a nomination to UN Ambassador. We are working

00:00:23.520 on that with Jay Bhattacharya and look forward to being able to share that, hopefully very

00:00:28.160 soon. In an exclusive interview with The Megan Kelly Show, Director of National Intelligence

00:00:32.580 Tulsi Gabbard reveals the Trump administration may soon be able to prove exactly how the COVID-19

00:00:39.520 pandemic started. Did Anthony Fauci fund the experiment? HHS drops a massive report highlighting

00:00:46.820 the risks of medical interventions on children expressing gender dysphoria. And Kamala Harris

00:00:52.940 returns to the national stage, much to the pleasure of the Trump administration. All that

00:00:58.140 and more coming up in just a moment on your AM Update.

00:02:08.200 or just call 972 Patriot. National Security Advisor Mike Walls ousted from his role, though not ejected

00:02:19.520 from the administration. President Trump posting to Truth Social on Thursday, quote, I am pleased to

00:02:24.740 announce that I will be nominating Mike Walls to be the next U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

00:02:30.420 The president tapping Secretary of State Marco Rubio as acting NSA advisor, in addition to his day job,

00:02:37.280 until a replacement is announced. Mark Halperin, host of Next Up on the MK Media platform,

00:02:43.500 breaking the news ahead of all major media outlets.

00:02:46.060 Three different people, the original source and two others, have confirmed that the plan now by

00:02:52.200 the White House is to remove the National Security Advisor, Mike Waltz, who was on Fox News this

00:02:56.220 morning, just not that long ago, and his deputy, Alex Wong, and much of the member current staff team

00:03:01.000 at the National Security Council because of unhappiness throughout the national security

00:03:06.580 establishment of how they're doing. The West Wing's unhappy, the State Department, the Treasury,

00:03:11.080 unhappiness. And of course, this was around before Signalgate. It was widely reported that Signalgate

00:03:16.260 ironically may have saved Waltz's job because the president didn't want to be seen as if he were

00:03:20.660 giving in to Jeffrey Goldberg, his new best friend. But there's lots of levels of unhappiness. And it's

00:03:26.640 less about Signalgate than it is about, as I understand it from my sources, a general belief

00:03:31.360 that it's not being run efficiently in an organized way. Axios later reporting Mr.

00:03:36.260 Walsh's troubles went beyond Signalgate, the March incident in which Mr. Walsh accidentally added

00:03:42.320 the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, Jeffrey Goldberg, to a Signal group chat discussing

00:03:47.300 attack plans against the Houthis. The outlet reporting Mr. Walsh got on the wrong side of

00:03:52.380 everyone, from Chief of Staff Susie Wiles to MAGA influencer Laura Loomer. Mr. Walsh is known for

00:03:58.840 his hawkish stance on Iran at a time when some in Trump's inner circle worry the administration

00:04:03.740 is edging toward open conflict. On Thursday, Trump ally Charlie Kirk weighing in on the reports.

00:04:10.120 Overall, this is a positive development for President Trump's administration. Mike Waltz

00:04:14.300 knows that I don't see eye to eye with him on many things. I've said that to him in his face. It's

00:04:17.420 nothing personal. I just don't think we should go to war with Iran. As for who may replace Mr.

00:04:21.860 Walsh, Mark Halperin reporting the leading contender for the job is Special Envoy Steve Whitcoff.

00:04:27.560 Political reporting other top contenders include Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller,

00:04:31.780 NSC Senior Director for Counterterrorism Sebastian Gorka, and Trump's Special Envoy for Special

00:04:38.440 Missions Richard Grinnell. In an exclusive interview this week, Director of National

00:04:44.320 Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard joining The Megyn Kelly Show discussing a range of topics from national

00:04:49.720 security leaks to the origins of COVID to what her own political future may hold. In mid-April,

00:04:55.860 the New York Times reporting, citing unnamed officials, that Israel wanted U.S. help in

00:05:01.340 striking Iranian nuclear sites as early as next month, but was waived off by President Trump,

00:05:07.260 whose top aides convinced him to instead pursue a nuclear deal with Tehran. The report describing

00:05:12.960 high-level internal deliberations among Trump's top deputies, including Vice President J.D. Vance,

00:05:18.980 DNI Gabbard, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.

00:05:23.480 Director Gabbard addressing the leak directly with us, blasting it as illegal and damaging.

00:05:29.920 The New York Times article was a result of an unfortunate, unauthorized, and illegal leak of

00:05:38.060 a very private conversation between the president and his advisors. I won't get into the details,

00:05:45.960 but it was a very robust discussion that really speaks to President Trump's care and thoughtfulness

00:05:52.960 as he makes his decisions. Do you feel the push, Tulsi, the push of this like strong neocon strain

00:06:00.680 that's still within the Republican Party and probably in these agencies, that's much more hawkish

00:06:07.900 on an issue, including war in the Middle East, which we've just done for 20 years?

00:06:13.980 Yeah, of course, the pressure's there. The leaks have to end. If the president can't have the

00:06:19.960 confidence that he can sit in a room with his closest advisors without it leaking to the public,

00:06:25.540 then that is something that really undermines his being best served with the best possible

00:06:33.920 information, with debate, robust debate around the table, which you look at the team of people

00:06:38.900 he's assembled, he likes that debate because he sees the value in hearing different perspectives

00:06:44.240 so that he can make that best informed decision. On COVID, Director Gabbard confirming the Trump

00:06:49.980 administration is actively studying the true origins of the pandemic and whether Anthony Fauci's

00:06:56.020 funding for the group EcoHealth Alliance had anything to do with it.

00:07:00.920 We are working with Jay Bhattacharya, the new NIH director on with, as well as Secretary Kennedy,

00:07:08.440 is looking at the gain-of-function research that, in the case of the Wuhan lab, as well as

00:07:16.520 many of these other bio labs around the world, was actually U.S. funded and leads to this dangerous

00:07:23.920 kind of research that, in many examples, has resulted in either a pandemic or some other

00:07:31.960 major health crisis.

00:07:33.520 Well, let me ask you specifically, because we already know that EcoHealth Alliance was partnering

00:07:37.260 with this Wuhan lab to create, to do gain-of-function research, we just have never been able to have

00:07:42.800 somebody say, and it was that exact experiment that led to this COVID bug, but have we gotten

00:07:49.120 there? What's the new thing that you're digging in on?

00:07:51.460 We are working on that with Jay Bhattacharya.

00:07:54.980 I mean, that would be extraordinary because, just so the audience knows, if that's true,

00:07:58.340 if it was Peter Daszak's research with the Wuhan so-called Bat Lady that caused this pandemic, 0.70

00:08:03.300 then we did fund it, then Anthony Fauci helped fund the pandemic.

00:08:07.440 The thing that he denied over and over and over to Senator Rand Paul's questioning.

00:08:13.400 That's right. Under oath.

00:08:14.840 Under oath, exactly. So is it any wonder that he sought a preemptive pardon for anything

00:08:21.920 during a certain period of time by President Biden before he left office?

00:08:27.040 For years under the Biden administration, officials, including Dr. Fauci, publicly denied

00:08:32.700 any responsibility for funding the research that may have sparked the pandemic.

00:08:37.420 As far as what the future holds for D&I Gabbard, she did not rule out another run for the White

00:08:42.840 House, including in 2028.

00:08:45.280 I will never rule out any opportunity to serve my country.

00:08:49.240 I would not have, if we had talked a year ago, the thought would not have crossed my mind that

00:08:57.540 I would be here and that we would be having this conversation.

00:09:02.360 My decisions in my life have always been made around how can I best be of service to God?

00:09:07.840 How can I best be of service to our country?

00:09:11.280 And that is what has led me here.

00:09:14.640 I'm grateful for this opportunity, and I will continue to chase those opportunities where

00:09:19.720 I can make the most positive impact and be of service.

00:09:23.100 The full interview is available on The Megyn Kelly Show feed on YouTube and wherever you

00:09:27.420 get your podcasts.

00:09:28.780 Coming up, HHS drops a massive report on the current treatment guidelines for the increasing

00:09:34.040 number of children diagnosed with gender dysphoria, calling out the risks of so-called gender

00:09:40.060 affirming care.

00:09:41.120 And Trump World celebrates the return of former Vice President Kamala Harris to the national

00:09:46.360 spotlight.

00:09:50.840 Are you a yo-yo dieter?

00:09:52.760 You diet, lose weight, then you gain it all back, plus a few.

00:09:56.280 Then later you lose it again, and the same cycle continues.

00:09:59.240 Well, that can be dangerous.

00:10:00.640 Studies show that this could actually increase health problems, and breaking free of this yo-yo 1.00

00:10:05.080 diet pattern is not easy.

00:10:06.980 But it's why doctors created Lean. 0.97

00:10:09.180 Lean is a supplement, and you don't need a prescription.

00:10:12.860 Lean includes natural ingredients targeting weight loss in three powerful ways, maintaining

00:10:17.680 healthy blood sugar, controlling appetite and cravings, and it helps burn fat by converting

00:10:21.940 fat into energy.

00:10:23.600 Listen, if you're tired of losing weight and gaining it back and want to lose meaningful

00:10:27.040 weight at a healthy pace, Lean could be something for you to consider.

00:10:42.940 Check it out.

00:10:45.740 The Health and Human Services Department on Thursday dropping a massive 409-page review

00:10:51.320 of treatment guidelines for children with gender dysphoria, a condition where a person feels

00:10:57.120 there may be a mismatch between his or her biological sex and how that person views their gender.

00:11:02.180 From the report, quote, medical and surgical interventions for children and adolescents with

00:11:07.820 gender dysphoria are widely promoted as essential and even life-saving, yet the evidence base does

00:11:14.160 not support strong conclusions about their effectiveness in improving mental health or reducing dysphoria.

00:11:21.120 The report strongly emphasizes prioritizing behavioral therapy over medical interventions like puberty

00:11:28.040 blockers and surgeries, including the benign-sounding top surgery, where girls receive double mastectomies

00:11:35.480 to create a male-appearing chest. 1.00

00:11:38.120 Diagnoses of gender dysphoria in children surging in recent years.

00:11:42.540 LexisNexis Risk Solutions reporting in December.

00:11:45.180 The number of insurance claims for gender identity care, critics call it self-mutilation,

00:11:51.260 for people under the age of 18, spiking 133% from 2019 to 2023.

00:11:59.180 Current guidelines recommend starting puberty blockers in children as young as 8 years old.

00:12:04.740 Advocates of the approach argue intervention is temporary and reversible.

00:12:09.880 A lot of politicians are out there shouting about irreversible damages, but blockers actually

00:12:13.880 do the opposite. They prevent permanent changes. Their effects are also reversible.

00:12:18.780 There's a lot of misinformation around gender-affirming care in minors.

00:12:22.900 Puberty blockers are safe.

00:12:24.340 If it's to halt puberty, then there's no age at which the blocker is inappropriate.

00:12:28.340 The scientific consensus is clear. The risks are small and, crucially, manageable when they're not.

00:12:35.860 According to the HHS report, it is rare for children to start puberty blockers and then stop

00:12:40.900 treatment entirely, and there is little data about the long-term effects of this intervention.

00:12:46.880 Left alone, the vast majority of these children will outgrow their gender confusion.

00:12:52.000 Most children who begin puberty blockers then graduate to cross-sex hormones,

00:12:56.360 a course of action which can lead to sterility, loss of sexual function, and permanent physiological

00:13:01.920 changes, results to which a minor cannot possibly give informed consent.

00:13:06.740 As the number of children undergoing these treatments grows, so do the voices of those

00:13:11.360 who say they were misled, like Chloe Cole. Diagnosed with gender dysphoria as a child,

00:13:17.680 Ms. Cole began medical transition at 13, before later detransitioning.

00:13:23.440 I started socially transitioning and identifying as transgender when I was 12 years old, and I

00:13:28.340 was fast-tracked onto medicalization at 13, starting with puberty blockers and testosterone.

00:13:32.580 Before, I went on to get a mastectomy at 15, and I stopped transitioning at 16, when I realized

00:13:38.580 that I had regretted my transition. The team of the medical professionals that helped me to

00:13:44.240 push me, really, to transition never presented any other options. They said that the rate of regret

00:13:49.700 is less than one or two percent, and they even lied to my parents that I would be at risk of suicide

00:13:55.120 were I not allowed to transition. At the age I was, I just wasn't capable of giving informed consent.

00:14:01.300 It's seriously affected both my mental and physical health. I'm still recovering to this day. I don't

00:14:07.740 know if I'll be able to conceive a child or safely carry a term, and I certainly won't be able to

00:14:12.820 breastfeed. The report, commissioned by President Trump in January, is part of the administration's

00:14:17.600 broader effort to root out what it calls woke ideology from taxpayer-funded health policy.

00:14:23.100 The president has signed a series of executive orders aimed at eliminating federal support for

00:14:27.660 gender transition procedures in minors, including bans on the use of public funds for puberty blockers,

00:14:33.500 cross-sex hormones, and gender-related surgeries. Deputy Press Secretary Stephen Miller on Thursday

00:14:38.940 underscoring the administration's message to hospitals and providers.

00:14:43.300 They cannot and will not be allowed to use taxpayer dollars to perform chemical castrations and sexual

00:14:50.400 mutilations of children. Castration surgeries, castration drugs, sterilization treatments of

00:14:57.540 children are barbaric. They violate all sound medical ethics. They are completely unwarranted.

00:15:05.280 They harm children for life irreversibly. It is child torture. It is child abuse. It is medical

00:15:12.360 malpractice. And so the Department of Health and Human Services, under the leadership of Bobby Kennedy,

00:15:17.680 as well as the Department of Justice and other departments of this government, are making clear

00:15:23.040 to our medical providers and our hospital systems that you cannot use taxpayer dollars to perform

00:15:29.080 these barbaric procedures on America's children. Former Vice President Kamala Harris returning to the 0.90

00:15:36.940 national stage on Wednesday, delivering a 15-minute speech at a gala for a progressive organization

00:15:42.720 dedicated to electing more women to office. The former Veep painting the first 100 days of the

00:15:48.040 Trump administration as an authoritarian nightmare, describing the administration's agenda as, quote,

00:15:53.420 a narrow, self-serving vision of America, where they punish truth-tellers, favor loyalists,

00:15:58.660 cash in on their power, and leave everyone else to fend for themselves.

00:16:02.440 Ms. Harris then offering this vision on the path forward.

00:16:05.460 Please allow me, friends, to digress for a moment. It's kind of dark in here, but I'm asking a show

00:16:10.440 of hands. Who saw that video from a couple of weeks ago, the one of the elephants at the San Diego

00:16:15.720 Zoo during the earthquake? So in the video, for those who haven't seen it, here those elephants were.

00:16:23.620 And as soon as they felt the earth shaking beneath their feet, they got in a circle and stood next to

00:16:31.860 each other to protect the most vulnerable. Think about it. What a powerful metaphor, because we know those

00:16:41.080 who try to incite fear are most effective when they divide and conquer, when they separate the herd, when

00:16:52.040 they try to make everyone think they are alone. But in the face of crisis, the lesson is don't

00:17:01.580 don't scatter. Media responds to the remarks, not surprisingly, largely favorable. NBC News quoting

00:17:09.100 a former Harris senior advisor granted anonymity to speak, quote, candidly, saying there is a

00:17:16.280 clamoring for her voice right now. No one can better prosecute the case while inspiring a call to action 0.98

00:17:21.880 than the former vice president. On Thursday, Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller and Press Secretary

00:17:27.400 Caroline Levitt responding to her remarks. It was a great reminder to the American people of just how

00:17:34.400 blessed we all are that the leader sitting in the Oval Office today is President Donald Trump and not

00:17:41.380 President Kamala Harris. It was a helpful reminder of just what a travesty and a tragedy that would have

00:17:47.100 been. It would have been the end of America. I think I speak for everyone at the White House. We

00:17:50.880 encourage Kamala Harris to continue going out and do speaking engagements. And that'll do it for 0.98
