00:04:05.640 it's disrespectful for you to come into the Oval Office and try to litigate this in front of the
00:04:09.080 American media. All bets were off. Mr. Trump and Mr. Vance fired back at the Ukrainian leader,
00:04:14.880 informing him of the stark reality of his position. Mr. Trump saying, you don't have any cards and
00:04:20.920 you're gambling with World War III. Shortly after the cameras exited the room, the Ukrainian
00:04:26.060 delegation exited the building with a message from Team Trump. Come back when you're ready for
00:04:31.180 peace. Democrats roundly criticizing President Trump for the outcome. The Sunday shows full of
00:04:36.920 Dems laying blame for the collapse of the deal on President Trump. The only winner in that exchange
00:04:43.780 is Putin. Millions of Americans are embarrassed or ashamed that you have a president of the United
00:04:50.420 States who says that Ukraine started the war. It is absolutely shameful what is happening right
00:04:56.680 now. The White House has become an arm of the Kremlin. And the entire pretext for that meeting
00:05:03.300 yesterday was an attempt to rewrite history in order to sign a deal with Putin that hands Putin Ukraine.
00:05:12.060 That last voice was Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy, a Democrat. And here's some crucial context.
00:05:17.860 Prior to President Zelensky's meeting at the White House, he met with a bipartisan group of senators,
00:05:24.140 including Mr. Murphy. The New York Post reporting Democratic senators advised Mr. Zelensky
00:05:29.280 not to take the deal. Posting on X, Senator Murphy writing, quote,
00:05:33.920 just finished a meeting with President Zelensky here in Washington. He confirmed that the Ukrainian
00:05:38.820 people will not support a fake peace agreement where Putin gets everything he wants and there are no
00:05:44.380 security arrangements for Ukraine. Secretary of State Marco Rubio joining ABC this week,
00:05:50.360 countering Democrat criticism, saying talks of security guarantees with the Russians are premature.
00:05:56.800 Ultimately, like any truce, like any peace agreement anywhere in the world, those things will have to be
00:06:01.320 enforced. They'll have to be enduring. They'll have to be safeguards put in place. Everybody understands
00:06:05.560 that. But it begins with the first step, and that is engaging them to see if it's even possible.
00:06:10.240 Right now, there is no negotiation. Shouldn't we at least try to see if there is a way to end this
00:06:15.220 war in a way that's acceptable to both sides and is enduring and sustainable?

00:06:46.880 Canada will continue to stand with Ukraine. The EU's top diplomat, Kaja Kalyas, writing on X,
00:06:53.300 Ukraine is Europe. We stand by Ukraine. Behind the scenes, European leaders work to convince Mr.
00:06:59.180 Zelensky to return to the table and sign the economic agreement. The United Kingdom's ambassador to the
00:07:05.860 U.S., Lord Peter Mandelson, appearing on ABC this week. We need a very radical reset and the reset has
00:07:14.340 to consist of the United States and Ukraine getting back on the same page and President Zelensky giving
00:07:23.500 his unequivocal backing to the initiative that President Trump is taking to end the war and to
00:07:30.760 bring a just and lasting peace to Ukraine. President Zelensky arrived in the U.K. on Saturday,
00:07:38.500 convening with European and Canadian leaders on next steps for his country. Mr. Zelensky writing on
00:07:44.320 Telegram, quote, we are all working together in Europe in order to find a basis for cooperation
00:07:49.440 with America for a true peace and guaranteed security. The U.K. and France attempting to repair
00:07:55.480 the damage by preparing a peace deal to present to the United States. U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer
00:08:01.820 announcing plans for European security guarantees yesterday. We will go further to develop a
00:08:07.460 coalition of the willing to defend a deal in Ukraine and to guarantee the peace. The U.K. is prepared to
00:08:16.240 back this with boots on the ground and planes in the air. Together with others, Europe must do the heavy
00:08:24.340 listing. But to support peace in our continent and to succeed, this effort must have strong U.S.
00:08:33.060 backing. It is unclear yet if President Zelensky can be swayed to accept European security guarantees
00:08:39.260 without U.S. security guarantees as well, which Mr. Trump has maintained will be in the form of
00:08:45.800 economic investment only. And now even that's unclear. Treasury Secretary Scott Besant told CBS Mr.
00:08:52.680 Zelensky's actions in the Oval threw off the intended sequence of events. First, the economic deal with
00:08:58.840 Ukraine, then a peace deal with Russia. Is the deal still on the table or has President Trump
00:09:03.980 instructed you to drop the project? Margaret, it is impossible to have an economic deal without a
00:09:10.900 peace deal. The sine qua non for an economic deal is that Ukrainian leadership wants a peace deal.
00:09:18.980 Sin qua non, Latin for the essential component. The Trump administration is not convinced at the
00:09:25.240 moment that Mr. Zelensky actually wants peace. And without that, they cannot do business. Mr.
00:09:30.280 Besant telling CBS at the moment there is no economic deal on the table. Mr. Zelensky told the BBC now he
00:09:37.680 would like to do the minerals deal. But Mr. Trump has not agreed to put it back on the table after what

00:11:09.240 Elon Musk joining Joe Rogan over the weekend for a three-hour conversation, diving into Mr. Musk's
00:11:14.480 work at the White House. The official Doge website touts $65 billion in savings via canceled contracts,
00:11:20.960 fraud detection, regulatory savings, and more. Recently, the Trump administration announced the
00:11:26.680 cancellation of 90% of USAID's contracts. These contracts are typically with NGOs, non-governmental
00:11:33.620 organizations that receive the money in the form of grants. President Trump recently highlighting what
00:11:39.280 some of these organizations were up to. $19 million for biodiversity conservation in Nepal. $1.5

00:13:05.400 sort of fake medical payments and other things. Mr. Musk describes the government payment systems as
00:13:11.980 a whole series of big, dumb machines, saying the system is ripe for exploiting because across the
00:13:17.880 government, these systems don't talk to each other, making fraud easy. It's mostly not corruption.
00:13:23.220 It's mostly just waste and, and, uh, I don't know, uh, incompetence. By the way, a bunch of the
00:13:31.560 things that, that Doge is, is fixing were identified by the government accountability office many years
00:13:40.060 ago. So we're like doing tech support, we're like fixing stuff that is, you know, just broken.

00:14:51.960 Elon Musk weighing in on the Epstein files flop late last week. Originally, Attorney General Pam
00:14:57.080 Bondi promised to release all of the Epstein files, ultimately though, only posting documents that were
00:15:02.540 largely previously known to the public. Mr. Musk defending the disappointing drop saying AG Bondi
00:15:08.480 and Kash Patel of the FBI just arrived in office and are captains to a ship with a crew that hates
00:15:14.920 them. AG Bondi revealed last week, a whistleblower report indicating thousands of pages of Epstein files
00:15:21.320 may be hidden in a New York field office. Mr. Musk describing why retrieving the files may not be so
00:15:27.740 cut and dry. They're not going to enable it such that anyone at the FBI could access it. So there's
00:15:33.480 probably very few people. So there's not going to be, it's, it may be like a special computer that

00:15:58.080 Disgraced former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announces he is running for New York City mayor
00:16:03.340 in a 17 and a half minute video. We know that the first step towards solving a problem
00:16:09.800 is having the strength, having the courage to recognize it. And we know that today our New York
00:16:17.860 City is in trouble. The former governor describing a relatively moderate platform, increasing cops,
00:16:24.560 getting mentally ill homeless people off the streets, and not-tolerant pro-Hamas protests
00:16:29.360 that harass and intimidate the Jewish community. Of course, when he was in office, he governed as a
00:16:35.360 leftist, banning fracking, stopping nuclear power, and going soft on crime. Mr. Cuomo also acknowledging
00:16:41.900 his past scandals. Did I always do everything right in my years of government service,
00:16:47.600 of course not. Would I do some things differently, knowing what I know now? Certainly. Did I make
00:16:55.060 mistakes, some painfully? Definitely. And I believe I learned from them, and that I am a better person
00:17:03.220 for it. Mr. Cuomo resigned from the governorship in August 2021 following a report from New York
00:17:08.720 Attorney General Letitia James stating Mr. Cuomo sexually harassed 11 women and created a hostile
00:17:14.400 work environment as governor. A.G. James writing, quote,
00:17:17.860 The executive chamber's culture, one filled with fear and intimidation, while at the same time
00:17:23.100 normalizing the governor's frequent flirtations and gender-based comments, contributed to the
00:17:28.280 conditions that allowed the sexual harassment to occur and persist. Democrat establishment quickly
00:17:33.540 revoked support from Mr. Cuomo. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi at the time called for him to step down,
00:17:38.220 as well as New York Senator Chuck Schumer. As he fell from power, Mr. Cuomo blamed his Italian heritage
00:17:43.980 and claimed he didn't realize the extent to which the line, as in the line for what kind of conduct
00:17:49.280 is appropriate at work, had been redrawn over time. Early on in the pandemic, Mr. Cuomo was lauded by
00:17:56.060 the media for his handling of the COVID crisis, even winning an Emmy for his daily briefings. That Emmy
00:18:02.020 was ultimately stripped amid his sexual harassment allegations, his approval rating so high, many
00:18:07.860 wondered if he would eventually run for president. Ultimately, that approval also collapsed. Mr. Cuomo's
00:18:14.080 biggest scandal was his March 2020 order forcing nursing homes to accept COVID-positive patients, which he was
00:18:21.160 warned would cost lives. It created a political firestorm when it was discovered that his office then
00:18:27.200 underreported nursing home deaths by as much as 50 percent. More than 8,000 nursing home patients
00:18:33.940 in New York died of COVID. The mayoral primary is in June. Mr. Cuomo will be running against current
