00:00:20.720 kind of ovation, really, because it says we're doing a good job. President Trump gets a standing

00:00:26.580 ovation and a lot of love from celebrities at a UFC event in Miami, as Senator Bernie Sanders draws

00:00:33.900 record crowds with AOC in California. And the results of President Trump's annual physical are

00:00:39.800 in. All that and more coming up in just a moment on your AM Update. So many people these days are

00:00:47.040 focusing on getting healthy. And speaking of health, let me tell you about Jacob and Kristen,

00:01:47.780 Countries all over the world lining up to renegotiate trade deals with the Trump

00:01:54.260 administration. Later today, the European Trade Commissioner set to hold talks with White House

00:01:59.240 officials. The EU initially responding to President Trump's Liberation Day tariff plan with retaliatory

00:02:05.780 measures of their own, later paused in return for a 90-day renegotiation window. Italian Prime Minister

00:02:12.740 Georgia Maloney also set to visit the White House on Friday to discuss trade policy. Director of the

00:02:19.060 National Economic Council Kevin Hassett telling CNN the White House is negotiating with more than 130

00:02:25.340 countries. Vice President J.D. Vance is expected to visit India next week, a diplomatic outreach as trade

00:02:32.080 negotiators work out a new deal with Indian counterparts. On Friday, the White House exempting some Chinese

00:02:39.320 electronics from the 145% tariff rate, which many in the tech world celebrated. But Commerce Secretary

00:02:46.720 Howard Lutnick warned that some items, like semiconductors, will be facing new tariffs within

00:02:52.700 the next two months. Mr. Lutnick explained that the levies are needed to encourage U.S. production of

00:02:58.820 these chips, which are currently made mostly in East Asia.

00:03:02.360 Those products are going to be part of the semiconductor sectoral tariffs, which are coming. So you're going to see

00:03:10.860 this week there'll be a register in the federal registry, there'll be a notice put out. That is different

00:03:17.800 types of work. So we're going to do that. We did that in autos. The president's going to do it for pharmaceuticals and

00:03:23.540 he is going to do it for semiconductors. So all those products are going to come under semiconductors and they're going to have a

00:03:29.360 special focus type of tariff to make sure that those products get reassured. We need to have

00:03:35.940 semiconductors. We need to have chips and we need to have flat panels. We need to have these things made in America. 0.97

00:03:41.360 We can't be reliant on Southeast Asia. Senior counselor to the president, Peter Navarro, on NBC, breaking it down

00:03:48.520 further. When we have a flood of imports being dumped into certain key strategic sectors, steel, aluminum, chips,

00:03:57.500 pharmaceuticals, as we learned during COVID, we have to take specific actions. So what we're doing

00:04:03.260 with chips, the problem, interestingly, for chips, because it's very complex stuff,

00:04:08.100 is that we don't buy a lot of chips like in bags. We buy them in products.

00:04:12.120 So what Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnik is going to do, is doing it as we speak, is an investigation of

00:04:20.080 the chip supply chain. The goal is stability and resilience. And you will see actions taken based on

00:04:26.900 those investigations on copper. We've already have steel and aluminum. We already have autos. There

00:04:32.300 will be pharmaceuticals and there will be chips. In other news, the president of El Salvador,

00:04:39.440 Nayib Bukele, set to visit the White House later today to discuss further cooperation with migrant

00:04:44.720 deportations. Mr. Bukele agreeing to accept and hold deported illegal aliens in his Supermax prison

00:04:51.660 in exchange for a relatively small fee. More than 200 have been sent so far. Under President Bukele's

00:04:58.280 leadership, El Salvador transforming from the murder capital of the world into one of the safest places

00:05:04.240 to visit. Mr. Bukele using emergency powers to implement a military crackdown on gangs, locking up

00:05:10.800 more than 76,000 Salvadorans. Many human rights groups decrying the move, saying detainees are denied due

00:05:17.580 process. President Trump praising Mr. Bukele ahead of the meeting. I think he's doing a fantastic job

00:05:23.900 and he's taking care of a lot of problems that we have that we really wouldn't be able to take

00:05:29.660 care of from a cost standpoint. And he's doing really, he's been amazing. We have some very bad

00:05:36.700 people in that prison, people that should have never been allowed into our country, people that 1.00

00:05:40.700 murdered. Last week, the Supreme Court ruling the Trump administration must facilitate,

00:05:45.140 but not effectuate, the return of mistakenly deported Salvadoran citizen Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

00:05:52.540 The administration claims Mr. Garcia is a member of MS-13 based on earlier findings of two immigration

00:05:59.280 courts. In 2019, a judge allowed Mr. Garcia to not be deported to El Salvador, saying he faced threats

00:06:07.500 of gang violence if returned. The DOJ acknowledges Mr. Garcia was mistakenly deported to the one country

00:06:14.080 that the immigration court had said we cannot send him to, El Salvador, and there he currently sits

00:06:19.960 in the Supermax prison, quote, alive and secure, according to our State Department. What to do with

00:06:26.320 Mr. Garcia likely to be a topic of conversation in today's meeting. President Trump did not mention

00:06:31.840 Mr. Garcia specifically, but posted to Truth Social on Saturday, quote, these barbarians are now in the sole

00:06:38.420 custody of El Salvador, a proud and sovereign nation, and their future is up to President B and his

00:06:44.560 government. Over the weekend, the U.S. and Iran kicking off a nuclear negotiation. The Iranians

00:06:53.340 seeking sanctions relief. The U.S. seeking to prevent the world's largest state sponsor of terror from

00:06:58.420 ever acquiring a nuclear weapon. President Trump announcing last week that the talks would be

00:07:03.300 direct, the Iranians insisting they would not be. They want indirect and coordinated through Oman.

00:07:10.260 Special Envoy Steve Wyckoff did speak directly with the Iranian foreign minister at the conclusion

00:07:15.120 of Saturday's talks. President Trump responding to the initial discussion on Air Force One.

00:07:20.640 You're going okay. Well, I can't because it doesn't, nothing matters until you get it done.

00:07:27.120 President Trump in 2018 withdrawing the U.S. from the Iranian nuclear agreement,

00:07:31.520 reached under the Obama administration. That agreement gave the regime sanctions relief in

00:07:36.900 exchange for purported limits on Iran's nuclear program. President Trump argued the deal failed

00:07:42.860 to provide any meaningful prevention of Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon. The Iranians maintaining

00:07:48.340 their nuclear program is purely civilian in nature. However, the International Atomic Energy Agency

00:07:53.880 reporting the Iranians have enriched enough uranium to make at least six nuclear bombs. The New York

00:08:00.280 Times reporting on Friday, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, agreeing to initiate the

00:08:06.260 talks at the request of his top advisors. The Times reporting, quote, if Iran refused talks or if the

00:08:12.300 negotiations failed, the official told Mr. Khamenei, military strikes on Iran's two main nuclear sites

00:08:18.600 would be inevitable. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth backing that up Sunday on Fox.

00:08:24.700 President Trump is dead serious on this issue. He's dead serious that Iran cannot have a nuclear

00:08:31.200 weapon. He's said that for 20 years. He's been consistent. That is clear. He's dead serious that

00:08:37.180 he wants it done at the negotiating table. He wants it done peacefully. And that's why he's going

00:08:41.320 straight to these talks. He set that deadline. These were productive talks. He's also dead serious that

00:08:46.060 if we can't figure this out at the negotiating table, then there are other options to include my

00:08:50.640 department to ensure that Iran never has a nuclear bomb. The U.S. and Iran are set to meet again this

00:08:56.360 Saturday for another round of talks. Coming up, President Trump greeted by a packed crowd at a UFC

00:09:02.600 fight as Senator Bernie Sanders speaks to the Coachella elite. And the results of President Trump's

00:09:09.060 medical examination are in his score on the cognitive test next. For years, Patriot Mobile has

00:10:23.000 On Saturday, President Trump, accompanied by several members of his administration and granddaughter Kai,

00:10:29.480 stepping into a packed Miami arena for a UFC fighting event, greeted with thunderous applause from the

00:10:35.640 crowd. Mr. Trump spending the evening shaking fans' hands, mingling with UFC President Dana White,

00:10:42.100 podcaster Joe Rogan, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, RFKJ and his wife Cheryl Hines,

00:10:48.380 and NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal, to name a few. The president on Air Force One reacting to the

00:10:54.600 fights and the warm welcome.

00:10:56.920 I thought it was great. I thought they were all great.

00:11:01.060 Five.

00:11:01.440 Those are seriously tough people.

00:11:03.340 Any of the fighters say anything to you?

00:11:06.060 Yeah, they all said. Every one of them came up at the end and they were great. I mean,

00:11:11.720 they're all warriors. You know, modern day warriors.

00:11:15.060 It's a great honor to have that kind of ovation, really, because it says we're doing a good job.

00:11:21.280 You want Florida?

00:11:21.880 If we weren't doing a good job, we'd get the opposite.

00:11:25.520 Democrat Senator from Vermont, Bernie Sanders, making a series of appearances this weekend,

00:11:30.060 part of a fighting the oligarchy tour. You know, the one to which AOC has been flying first class.

00:11:37.200 And speaking of AOC, on Saturday in Los Angeles, the New York Congresswoman

00:11:41.360 joining Senator Sanders on stage.

00:11:44.420 Billionaires like Elon Musk dumped billions of dollars in this election to elect Trump.

00:11:51.360 That our political system has slowly but surely become dominated by big money and billionaires.

00:11:59.540 Giving up and hiding under the covers is not acceptable.

00:12:04.400 They are the one percent. 0.92

00:12:07.540 We are the ninety nine percent.

00:12:09.500 Musicians Neil Young, Joan Baez and Maggie Rogers also joining the progressive leaders at the event.

00:12:16.180 The Sanders team reporting a crowd of about thirty six thousand people, their largest ever.

00:12:22.320 Senator Sanders telling attendees the Trump administration is paying attention to the size of these events,

00:12:27.140 saying, quote, you are scaring the hell out of them.

00:12:29.920 Special envoy and L.A. County resident Rick Grinnell posting on X, quote,

00:12:34.800 more than 10 million people live in Los Angeles County.

00:12:38.100 It's the largest county in the United States of America.

00:12:41.540 This is a very low turnout for Democrats, Los Angeles and California.

00:12:46.080 The one party rule in California is clearly coming to an end.

00:12:49.940 Senator Sanders also popping up at the Coachella Music Festival in Southern California.

00:12:54.200 As a surprise guest, Senator Sanders ranting to the friendly, albeit captive audience.

00:13:00.260 This country faces some very difficult challenges.

00:13:09.160 And the future of what happens to America is dependent upon your generation. 0.58

00:13:16.800 Now, you can't turn away and you can ignore what goes on.

00:13:25.140 But if you do that, you do it at your own peril.

00:13:28.720 We need you to stand up to fight for justice.

00:13:36.580 To fight for economic justice, social justice and racial justice.

00:13:46.800 The general admission tickets to Coachella starting at $649,

00:13:52.640 though they can go upwards of $10,000 a piece for a luxury safari glamping experience,

00:13:59.140 including air-conditioned tents and a private concierge.

00:14:02.840 Sounds a little oligarchical.

00:14:08.160 On Sunday, the results of the president's annual physical

00:14:11.060 relieved by Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

00:14:14.220 President Trump on Friday telling reporters aboard Air Force One he expected to pass with flying colors.

00:14:20.000 I took, I wanted to be a little different than my, I took a cognitive test.

00:14:26.340 And I don't know what to tell you whether or not I got every answer right.

00:14:33.540 I took just a lot of different tests having to do with the heart, having to do with other things.

00:14:39.700 I said, I think you'll find that, they're going to release their report on Sunday.

00:14:43.520 I think you'll find it very good.

00:14:44.980 Can you tell us what, the cognitive test?

00:14:46.860 Is that a man, a person, a paper TV?

00:14:49.240 It's a, I think it's a pretty well-known test.

00:14:53.480 Whatever it is, I got everyone, I got it all.

00:14:55.960 The report, backing that up, the president achieving a 30 out of 30 on a screening tool

00:15:01.560 designed to detect early signs of dementia and mild cognitive impairment.

00:15:06.480 Mr. Trump losing 20 pounds since his last presidential checkup in 2020,

00:15:11.120 the head, ears, nose, and throat section revealing, quote,

00:15:14.680 no significant abnormalities with the exception for scarring on the right ear from a gunshot wound.

00:15:20.880 No serious concerns outlined in the report.

00:15:24.820 The physician, Captain Sean Barabella, writing, quote,

00:15:28.420 President Trump remains in excellent health and is fully fit to execute the duties of the

00:15:33.080 commander-in-chief and head of state.

00:15:36.020 And that'll do it for your AM update.
