00:04:23.620 The European Athletics Associations have just released new guidelines saying that broadcasters can't focus on female athletes' assets anymore.

00:04:36.260 They released this massive, look at this massive tome with all sorts of really lurid illustrations about how broadcasters need to stop putting the cameras on the female athletes derrière and, you know, general chest area.

00:04:55.220 And they want to stop female sports from being so sexy.

00:04:59.660 That's what, that is what the European broadcasters are saying.

00:05:04.360 And they've released these pictures, which are really, really funny because it's, you know,

00:05:08.040 the camera angles zooming in on women as they're bending over, you know, oopsie, I dropped a pencil

00:05:12.280 or something like that. And they say, this is really, really bad. Cannot do it. Where do we,

00:05:45.420 are among the issues observed in the media coverage of women's athletics competitions

00:05:54.400 by diverting attention from the remarkable achievements and technical skills of women

00:05:58.020 athletes and risk perpetuating harmful stereotypes. First of all, let's just, okay,

00:06:02.280 let's take them in reverse order. Harmful stereotypes, what's the harmful stereotype?

00:06:06.660 The harmful stereotype that women are hot? What do you mean by, we're just so used to these cliches,

00:06:12.420 these silly politically correct phrases. What harmful stereotype is being perpetuated by sports

00:06:47.680 the remarkable athletic achievements of women toward women's bodies. That's the line.

00:06:54.240 that first line there, lingering shots on bodies. In women's sports, we need to stop focusing on 1.00

00:07:31.080 libs are making here, which is they think you can divorce athletics from the body. You think that

00:07:38.780 you can divorce women's sports from women looking good, as if to say you're diverting the sports

00:07:45.640 from women being women. Athletics is about the body. Women have attractive bodies. You cannot 0.99

00:07:52.880 separate women's athletics from sexual attraction other than the WNBA. But nobody watches the WNBA, 0.99

00:07:58.920 so that's sort of a moot point. When we're talking about non-WNBA women's athletics,

00:08:04.060 you cannot separate it from attraction because women are attractive. Men and women are different.

00:08:10.620 When you're talking about men's athletics, it's also all about their bodies or, I don't know,

00:08:16.020 mostly about their bodies. There is some strategy and skill and cleverness involved as well. But

00:08:22.140 Athletics are a physical endeavor. And so when you watch men's sports, it's also about men's 0.62

00:08:26.560 bodies, but it's different because men are not sexy, generally, and because women relate to

00:08:34.300 men's bodies in a slightly different way than men relate to women's bodies.

00:15:42.360 of us Americans. Keep going. If it ends up taking almost all the jobs, then what does it mean to 0.76

00:15:51.680 work. Wait a minute, why do we have to have this stuff? If a machine can pretend to care

00:16:01.360 better than I can actually care, how do we draw the line there? If we all had a voice

00:16:07.420 in it, then I feel like it would be better. Could AI help people stop feeling misunderstood?

00:17:15.960 But you see the AI company, nevertheless, acknowledging this fear as legitimate.

00:17:21.040 Because at the end of the ad, it validates it and said, yeah, there's hope in hard questions.

00:17:28.220 They're legitimate to ask these hard questions, including will AI kill us all?

00:17:35.940 But don't forget, Anthropic is the same company that refused to release its Mythos AI because

00:17:40.560 its cybersecurity breaking features, it deemed so dangerous that it could not open it to the public.

00:17:47.340 Then China came in and created its own version of that, so the cat's kind of out of the bag.

00:17:51.840 But nevertheless, Anthropic is so publicly, at least, cautious about the dangers of AI

00:17:58.620 that they withheld one of their own products, and they partnered up with the Vatican when

00:18:04.780 Pope Leo released his encyclical called, what is it? Magnifico Manitas on human dignity and how we

00:18:13.100 relate to technology and AI. So, obviously, Anthropic is taking this very, very seriously.

00:18:19.360 And because people are taking this seriously, there's a report in the Wall Street Journal

00:18:22.580 just this morning that AI executives are afraid for their lives. Wall Street Journal has the AI

00:18:28.040 backlash, has tech executives fearing for their lives. Violent threats against AI companies are

00:18:32.780 rising and spilling over into real-world security incidents. A security guard at Anthropic,

00:18:37.400 same company, was rushed to stop the man sneaking into the lobby of the world's most valuable AI

00:18:42.380 startup. The man had entered by following closely behind a badge-swiping employee.

00:18:46.700 He showed the guard an envelope marked with the name of a top Anthropic executive.

00:18:50.040 The executive was, quote, going to be killed, he told the guard, and he needed to warn someone,

00:18:54.500 according to records of the April 15th incident viewed by the Wall Street Journal.

00:18:58.920 There was an attempted firebombing of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's house, ended without violence or an arrest.

00:19:06.120 On and on and on, you see a lot of these incidents.

00:19:08.340 A Texas man threw a bomb at Sam Altman's house.

00:19:12.120 He was charged with attempted murder and attempted arson.

00:19:14.400 The list goes on.

00:19:15.620 So what we're seeing here, just for a little history lesson, is the Luddites.

00:19:20.980 This is a return of the Luddites, the 19th century movement named after a legendary weaver,

00:19:26.740 an imaginary weaver named Ned Ludd. And we use the term Luddite now to mean people who are bad

00:19:33.040 with technology or who don't really like technology. I do it myself. I say, oh, I'm

00:19:37.180 such a Luddite. Sometimes I leave my phone at my desk. I don't even carry it around. I'm such a

00:19:42.120 Luddite. But that's not what the Luddites were. The Luddites were actually a pretty violent

00:19:46.700 movement where they were a bunch of mill workers in England who organized raids to destroy the

00:19:52.480 machines that they feared were upending their lives and their jobs. And the way the Luddite

00:19:56.720 movement was suppressed was when law enforcement and the military came in and shot them.

00:20:01.060 So this is not like, we treat it now as this sort of wholesome, generally benign,

00:20:07.820 cute little quirk of history. Oh, you remember the Luddites. This was a violent clash between

00:20:12.320 labor and police and the military that sought to, through bombs and violence, destroy the

00:20:20.380 the industrial revolution. So what does that mean for us? We're clearly in a moment right now where

00:20:25.760 you're going to see a return of that Luddite tendency, and it's perfectly understandable.

00:20:28.960 Even Anthropic, the world's most valuable AI company, is acknowledging that that impulse is

00:20:33.620 understandable. Fears, one, that it's going to displace all of our jobs, and two, fears that

00:20:38.580 it's going to displace our very humanity. And I think one place that you are seeing the fight

00:20:43.840 really come out politically is in this fight over data centers. The data center fight is really odd

00:20:49.920 because it's one where the grand strategic objective and the political objectives are

00:20:58.040 totally at odds with each other. If I were running for office right now,

00:21:02.980 I would have to be very circumspect in the way I talked about data centers.

00:21:06.340 I would actually probably have to be opposed to data centers because there is a major populist

00:21:11.140 swell opposed to the data centers. And yet, we need to build the data centers. We just have to

00:21:18.360 building. I'm not running for office right now, folks, so I can be as blunt as can be. I don't

00:21:22.220 need to gussy this up in any kind of nice political diplomatic language. We have to build

00:21:26.600 the data centers because we're in an arms race with China. We are basically at war with China 0.90

00:21:31.840 anyway. China does a lot of stuff to undermine us, including sneaking bioweapons into our country

00:21:38.260 constantly. They do all these sneaky little death by a thousand cuts kind of war maneuvers, 0.87

00:21:43.520 But we're also in an arms race with them over AI, over computing.

00:21:47.340 And so I think a lot of the anti-data center propaganda that you're seeing is coming from China.

00:21:54.900 Because you have to ask yourself, cui bono, who benefits most from a shift in public opinion or from new political actions?

00:22:01.500 And in the case of the U.S. not building data centers in the U.S., in the case of the U.S. not pursuing AI and a computing advantage, the person that benefits the most is the Chinese, Chinese government.

00:22:11.240 So I don't want to sound like a Democrat in 2016.

00:22:14.580 You know, everything was just Russian propaganda or Chinese propaganda.

00:22:17.380 But it's important to understand how propaganda works.

00:22:20.180 The way propaganda works is not by just inventing something out of thin air.

00:22:23.620 The way propaganda works is not by just creating an imaginary problem and convincing a bunch of dupes to believe in it.

00:22:29.000 The way really good foreign political propaganda works is by seeing something that is real.

00:22:35.780 recognizing a real tension, a real fissure in a political coalition, and then exploiting it.

00:22:44.560 The more truth there is to political propaganda, the more effective it's going to be. This is why

00:22:49.240 the Soviet Union in the 1960s, when it was promoting all of the civil rights stuff,

00:22:54.240 the reason that worked so well is not because the Soviet Union just hypnotized all of us. 0.89

00:23:04.100 nationalist movements and civil rights groups. It worked so well because there were racial problems 0.91

00:23:20.940 I think the way that we have to think about this question, whether we're talking about

00:23:23.220 Anthropic or we're talking about people trying to murder AI CEOs or a new Luddite movement,

00:23:28.220 is the way that Toy Story handled this question, actually. Toy Story was annoying because it was

00:23:33.360 super racially and sexually woke. But on the point of technology, it was right, which is that

00:23:39.080 you can't just blindly embrace technological innovation such that the tail wags the dog and

00:23:47.080 we're just mortgaging our economy, our political order, our very humanity towards some glittering

00:23:52.180 machine. But likewise, you cannot stop the advance of technology. You can't smash the

00:23:58.260 machines. You can't simply do that because you'll end up smacking your nose to spite your face.

00:24:04.400 In that case, China will just gain the advantage. We'll lose our global hegemony. We will be in a 0.92

00:24:09.440 much worse position because of it. You just have to approach these technologies in a way that is

00:24:15.100 responsible and in a way that takes into account the bad stuff that could come about as a result

00:24:23.680 of it in a way that is temperate and moderate and prudent. And the same thing with the data

00:24:27.960 centers. People are concerned about the data centers in part because it might raise their

00:24:31.120 energy costs, in part because of concerns about maybe water resources, in part because they're

00:24:36.200 ugly and they don't want it in their backyard, in part because it's going to take a lot of land

00:24:40.280 but not create a lot of jobs. All of those things are true, but I think those are relatively minor

00:34:34.960 discontent that's going on here. There's clearly an effort to prioritize domestic issues over

00:34:40.080 foreign issues. And a lot of people think that Israel is exerting too much influence on American

00:34:43.780 politics. But we shouldn't just single out Israel, and we shouldn't say that Israel isn't an ally.

00:34:48.280 We should just recognize that they're allies like our two greatest allies. And we should have a

00:34:54.540 reasonable, moderate position here and not go nuts. And for that, he's being attacked.

00:35:01.060 Folks, especially on the really pro-Israel side, if J.D. Vance is your enemy here,

00:41:12.580 looking into, the White House is looking into. Nick Shirley and other journalists have done a

00:41:17.560 good job of exposing independent journalists, not the establishment media. I think we have a little

00:41:56.760 Well, one of them showed up for a few minutes and his whole point was that Nick Shirley was

00:42:01.780 just a sensationalist and really that he ought to be ashamed of himself for doing this. And it's

00:42:06.680 like, well, if he didn't broadcast this, if he didn't show it and 43 million people didn't see

00:42:11.520 his video, these people would still be stealing from us. And they say, oh, we have government

00:42:16.620 inspectors to do this. And I'm not against the government inspectors. They do provide

00:42:20.300 some function, but they have no effectiveness in the sense that they can't affect change.

00:42:25.960 They give some advice and write a report on it. It's like, well, how many people with a camera

00:42:29.660 have they ever hired to go look at the leering center to see if anybody's showing up there

00:42:34.320 or to see anybody at the adult daycare or the autism center. And this was basic research that

00:42:40.480 Nick Shirley did really in a matter of days. And we asked him, how did you find this stuff? And he

00:42:45.040 said, well, I looked up to see the biggest recipients of government dollars were, looked at

00:42:49.780 the list and decided to go to the biggest ones and see if anybody came to their business.

00:42:54.020 And he discovered they were all, they were a sham. Hundreds of millions of dollars. They've

00:42:58.560 arrested some guy in Somalia. They have 19 indictments. But the point I made is there's

00:43:05.020 always going to be bad people. What Nick Shirley did is incredibly important. We should continue

00:43:09.280 doing it. However, there's something you have to do is you have to align the incentives to go

00:43:14.180 after fraud. Right now, most of these programs are Medicaid, and the government pays 90% of

00:43:20.200 Medicaid for all the expanded people, and the state government pays 10%. But they sign you up

00:43:25.520 at the state level. So if the people signing you up to give you free stuff, to give you free health

00:43:30.320 care are not paying for it, they're not going to care about policing it. So this saves a lot of

00:43:36.160 money for the federal government and would help with fraud is make them all 50-50. States pay

00:43:41.580 half, federal government pays the other half. It's not the final cure for limited constitutional

00:43:47.120 government, but it's a big savings. And if the states were paying half like they traditionally

00:43:52.480 did, they would begin to police it more. Well, speaking of the state level, we have our sponsor,

00:44:36.660 California, what about the people who have actually committed the fraud? Because it's great that guys

00:44:42.400 like Nick Shirley have shined a light on this. It's great that we're having hearings from Senator

00:44:47.900 Paul et al. And also, you know, the vice president leading the task force at the White House and

00:44:52.900 all the rest of it. Fast forward 12 months, 24 months. What can we hope will be accomplished

00:45:01.420 to punish the people who committed the crimes and to, to your point, realign those incentives to

00:45:07.140 make sure that it doesn't happen to this scale again? Yeah. Well, I think it's important for

00:45:12.320 everybody to know, either listening or watching your show or online, is they get frustrated with

00:45:17.240 Congress and say, well, why aren't you prosecuting these people? Why aren't they in jail? And it's

00:45:20.760 like they fail to understand that Congress has no prosecutorial power. In fact, Medicaid, once the

00:45:27.240 money for Medicaid is allocated, it goes to the executive branch. The executive branch wants

00:45:32.180 Medicaid. The executive branch runs the Department of Justice. So people are always asking me why I

00:45:37.420 haven't put Fauci in jail. Well, because I have no ability to prosecute anyone. I can point out

00:45:42.660 the problems. I can have hearings. And this is just the limitation of the way our government is set

00:45:46.580 up. So yes, we should continue to prosecute them. That has to come from the Department of Justice.

00:45:51.200 One thing I can do, and one thing I'm considering doing, is really hiring people like Nick Shirley

00:45:55.960 to investigate this problem for Congress. I'd like to send them out into the field,

00:46:00.580 committee staffers, and let's start exploring this in a big way across the United States.

00:46:05.720 Have the House involved, the Senate involved, and let's send people out and investigate it.

00:46:09.980 And then as far as aligning incentives, they're talking about a third reconciliation bill. They

00:46:15.560 want to spend a bunch of more money buying more bombs, et cetera, that I can vote for that if

00:46:20.720 it's completely paid for. But one way to pay for it is to get rid of this 90% federal government

00:46:25.560 paying for Medicaid. If you go back to 50-50, it saves $800 billion over 10 years, 80 billion a

00:46:32.400 year. So if they want my vote for more money and for more bombs, I'll vote for it. But they're

00:46:37.460 going to have to pay for it with a real pay for, not one that starts in five years or 10 years and

00:46:42.160 play some kind of budgetary game, pay for it now with real savings, and I'll vote for more spending.

00:46:49.000 But I'm not just going to vote for more spending without any offsets, because the greatest threat

00:46:54.320 to our country is actually our debt. The greatest threat to our national security is our debt.

00:47:36.900 Party. You know, I've been active since the 70s. I was active as a kid when my dad was in Congress.

00:47:43.320 I went to the Republican Convention in 1976. And even back then, when we were largely in the

00:47:48.320 minority, there was at least a portion of the Republican Party that was free market,

00:47:52.120 that liked Milton Friedman, had read Hayek, had read Mises, had read Bastiat, had read Henry

00:47:58.420 Hazlitt. And I give all those books to my interns now because I want another generation to understand

00:48:03.580 free market economics. But that is dwindling. You know, the people have gotten, they believe in

00:48:10.640 other what I consider to be false gods that they're all for now. And, you know, they're for
