00:00:45.900 as 60,000 Moroccan migrants pour into the North African city of Ceuta. 1.00
00:00:51.100 Hopefully, it will not take the Spaniards eight centuries to kick them out this time, 1.00
00:00:55.820 but it very well might as no one in the West seems to have learned the basic lesson of 1.00
00:00:59.820 history when it comes to Islamic invasion. Then, one in three Democrats now identifies
00:01:05.520 as a socialist. And the new Senate candidate, Democrats chose in Maine to replace a Nazi rapist, 0.99
00:01:12.100 has apparently fathered multiple children with his cousin. 0.97
00:01:15.640 I'm Michael Knowles. This is the Michael Knowles Show.
00:01:29.820 Welcome back to the show. Minnesota now has a new law banning nudification technology. There
00:01:41.600 is apparently man-made horrors behind your comprehension. If you haven't read anything
00:01:47.300 about that, there is a technology that allows you to upload pictures of like that girl in your math
00:01:53.040 class or whatever, you know, the lady at the gym and, and nudify them. And Minnesota is banning
00:01:59.120 this. And somehow Elon Musk is being sort of smeared for it. We'll get into what's going on.
00:02:03.320 First, though, the bigger story. A ton of Muslims are invading Spain. This happened yesterday. You 1.00
00:02:11.600 had 60,000 Muslim migrants pouring in from Morocco into the North African Spanish city
00:02:18.460 of Ceuta. And they're just pouring across the border. There's videos of guys just climbing up 0.95
00:02:24.320 ladders trying to break into people's homes. There were fires being lit. The first thing you notice
00:02:30.080 about the migrants, despite what we have heard, that this is poor beleaguered people, women and
00:02:36.200 children just seeking a better life. And those callous Westerners don't want to give them refuge
00:02:42.760 and charity for the poor sojourners. It's all, you will notice, it's basically all fighting age
00:02:50.500 men. And they're laughing, they're joking, they're climbing up walls, breaking into people's homes, 0.56
00:02:57.800 lighting things on fire, and just wreaking havoc as they often, often do. This isn't even the first
00:03:05.260 time. Five years ago, you saw 8,000 Moroccans pour into this very same city after the Moroccan
00:03:11.760 government dropped its border controls. But the real issue here isn't about the Moroccan government
00:03:16.100 or any other Muslim country, the real issue is that Spain dropped its border controls.
00:03:23.620 Spain, the socialist government of Spain, Francisco Franco, where are you when we need you most?
00:03:27.960 The socialist government of Spain just offered a massive amnesty, hundreds of thousands of people 0.76
00:03:33.680 to illegal aliens who have poured into the country. And what happens when you offer amnesty 0.98
00:03:38.580 lesson to Republicans who want to be tolerant and moderate and compromise on comprehensive 0.91
00:03:44.020 of immigration reform, a lesson that when you give foreigners, foreign criminals, amnesty, 0.95
00:03:51.000 you get more foreign criminals. That's just what happened. And so what are these future doctors 0.95
00:03:55.760 and engineers doing? Are they pouring in to improve Spain and the European Union? And no,
00:04:01.520 they're lighting vans on fire, and they're committing crimes, and they're bragging about
00:04:05.040 it while they do it. Ciutat has a population of about 86,000 people. 60,000 foreigners just
00:04:13.980 poured into the country. So you're basically doubling the size of this city, and now half
00:04:19.160 the population being foreign. This is similar to what we saw in Lampedusa. Lampedusa, this
00:04:23.960 little island off of Italy, where it becomes a major cross-section for the African migrants to 1.00
00:04:32.160 pour in, totally overwhelm the local population. The reason they're doing it, the reason they go 1.00
00:04:36.340 to places like Lampedusa, the reason they go to places like Ceuta is they're easy to get to.
00:04:40.540 So if you're in North Africa, you just head over there, and then you're in this tiny little place. 0.99
00:04:45.800 But because of Spain's stupid rules that throw up in the borders, because of the European Union's stupid rules that throw up in the borders, 0.98
00:04:52.200 once you're in anywhere even approximating European territory, you can get basically anywhere else in Europe, which is really the point. 0.99
00:05:01.020 They're not going to stop in Utah. 0.83
00:05:02.340 They're not going to stop in North Africa.
00:05:03.420 They're going to keep on going, including coming to the United States, but certainly throughout Europe.
00:05:09.940 more than one in five people in Spain right now, all of Spain, not just the North African
00:05:15.380 territories, but all of Spain, more than one in five people are foreign born.
00:05:20.760 In America, we're not quite there yet, but we're pretty close. What are we at? We're a little north
00:05:24.800 of 15% foreign born, basically the highest foreign born percentage of the population we've ever had
00:05:28.860 in the United States. In Spain, it's even worse. And it's going to be very tempting to blame this
00:05:36.520 on the foreigners. It's going to be very tempting to blame this on the Muslims. 0.87
00:05:40.320 And you're going to see even right-wingers saying this in their outrage at seeing their
00:05:44.260 countries invaded, their sovereignty mocked. You're going to see people placing all of the
00:05:48.060 blame on Muslims, some change in tactic from these Muslim foreigners. I think that totally 1.00
00:05:53.900 misses the point because it misses the lessons of history. When it comes to the Islamic invasion 0.92
00:06:01.020 of Western Christian lands, the Muslims have not changed at all. I know this is going to sound 0.97
00:06:07.480 kind of offensive to Muslims, but it's actually not. It's more an indictment of the West.
00:06:12.520 Since Islam was founded in the 7th century, Islam has not changed at all. This is one of 1.00
00:06:20.520 the defining features of Islam. Islam is just like a brute force of nature. Islam is like 1.00
00:06:26.040 divine retribution. Islam is just this thing that keeps doing what it has always done. 1.00
00:06:33.620 What has changed is not the tactics of the Muslim invaders. What has changed is the West's 1.00
00:06:39.840 tolerance of it, the West's courage to stand up against it, the West's understanding of itself 0.99
00:06:46.260 as a unified civilization that is different from the foreign Islamic civilization. 0.99
00:06:52.460 To even call it the West gives away the whole game because we used to call this civilization 1.00
00:06:56.560 Christendom. We no longer really call it Christendom because we no longer acknowledge
00:07:02.460 our Christian identity. You saw this with the formation of the European Union. It was a big
00:07:07.460 flashpoint decades ago when the European Union was formed. They could have put into their
00:07:13.600 constitution that Europe is a Christian place. In fact, you would say that is the one thing 0.97
00:07:19.980 that should unite Europe is that it is Christian. They don't all speak the same language. They all 1.00
00:07:25.260 look the same. They don't all cook the same food. They don't all have the same music. But the one
00:07:28.800 thing that has always united Europe as a coherent civilization is Christianity. The European Union 0.94
00:07:33.940 refused to acknowledge that. So then what is Europe? What is the West? We think about this
00:07:39.260 when we talk about America. The real creedalist types, they say America, it's not a place. It's
00:07:44.540 not a race. It's not a people. It's not a language. It's not. America is an idea. And you say, okay,
00:07:50.400 they really broaden this to the West. I mean, the UK has adopted this creedalist view and really a
00:07:56.860 lot of the West has. You say it's an idea, but then push them on it. Say, okay, I accept your
00:08:03.400 premise. What's the idea? They won't tell you what the, is the idea Christianity? That Christianity
00:08:11.660 is more than an idea. It's a fact. It's a religion. It's grounded in historical events, 0.66
00:08:15.940 namely the incarnation, the crucifixion, the resurrection, and then the development of the
00:08:20.220 church that our Lord will not leave even until the end of the age. But is that the idea? No.
00:08:26.920 What is the idea? Is the idea political sovereignty? Is the idea self-government?
00:08:33.760 Well, not always, but even if it were, the people of these countries, Spain, et cetera,
00:08:39.220 they don't really have sovereignty. We're told we don't have a say in who gets to come into
00:08:43.780 our country. We're told that in America, they're told that in Europe. The Europeans keep voting
00:08:48.120 against mass migration. In the UK, back when Europe was part of the UK, they then voted for
00:08:54.520 the Brexit to get out of, sorry, back when the UK was part of Europe, they voted for the Brexit so
00:08:59.800 that the UK could detach from Europe to try to get less migration. What happened? They got more
00:09:03.420 migration. In Italy, they elect the Maloney government because they want less migration.
00:09:07.300 what happens? Brussels says you have to have more migration. In Hungary, they elect Orban
00:09:11.200 because they don't want migration. What happens? Brussels throws everything at the wall to get
00:09:15.480 rid of Orban so they can install their own guy so that they can insist upon migration.
00:09:18.960 So it's not self-government. It's not sovereignty. What's the idea? The idea is freedom.
00:09:25.020 Okay, how do you define freedom? In the West, we always define freedom as the right to do what we
00:09:30.200 ought, not the ability to do whatever we please. We understood the truth is setting us free. We
00:09:35.240 understood, for our history, freedom in Christ. We recognized that vice and licentiousness and
00:09:41.880 sin is not freedom, it's actually slavery. So is it freedom in the abstract? By the way,
00:09:48.160 what would that even mean? Even if you accept the silly liberal idea of freedom,
00:09:52.520 is someone who believes in freedom who lives in Tibet, is that person therefore a Westerner?
00:09:57.860 No. How about someone who lives in Morocco? No. This is just what Islam does. And there have been,
00:10:07.180 I think, ridiculous arguments from the left about this flashpoint in North Africa. They say, 0.60
00:10:12.020 well, you know, look, Ceuta and Malia, the other Spanish territory there,
00:10:17.040 these are really African places. Why is Spain colonizing Africa? North Africa is a Muslim
00:10:23.040 territory? Why are we still colonizing a Muslim territory? Hey, fellas, I don't know if you're 1.00
00:10:27.300 history buffs, but you know, North Africa was Christian for over 500 years before the Muslims
00:10:32.200 conquered it. You know, from like the first century, certainly beginning to solidify in
00:10:37.060 the second and third centuries, Africa, North Africa was Christian territory, as was the Levant
00:10:43.760 until Muhammad and his followers conquered it. And they didn't stop in North Africa. 0.96
00:10:49.640 They then got into Iberia. They conquered Spain starting around 711 AD, and they kept going. 0.78
00:10:56.500 They tried to conquer France. Thankfully, Charlemagne's grandpa, Charles Martel,
00:10:59.660 kicked him out at the Battle of Tours in 732. Otherwise, they would have taken all of Europe.
00:11:04.340 But we used to have people who stopped them, turned them back. In Iberia, what they did 0.98
00:11:09.240 was they fought, starting in 711 AD, they fought for 800 years until the Reconquista was completed
00:11:16.720 under Ferdinand and Isabella in 1492, the same year that Columbus sailed the ocean blue.
00:11:21.380 800 years it took to boot these people out. This is just what Islam does. There can be no 1.00
00:11:30.360 historical or indigenous argument for Islam to control North Africa, certainly not to control
00:11:36.980 Spain or France or anywhere else. Those indigenous arguments or anti-colonial arguments are total
00:11:43.520 nonsense, even by the standard of the Muslims who don't care about anti-colonialism. They want to 1.00
00:11:47.860 colonize the entire world. So what has changed is not Islam. What has changed is us and our view of 1.00
00:11:57.020 ourselves. And it's going to take a lot more than liberal argumentation. And it's going to take a
00:12:04.580 lot more than the supposed material prosperity of liberalism. It's going to take a lot more than
00:12:08.560 iPhones to convince these people not to radically change our civilization, to invade, to conquer.
00:12:15.420 It's going to take tough men with weapons, crucially who believe in something, who believe
00:12:22.080 in something that is different from what is invading. Because what Europe, what the West
00:12:26.860 has effectively said, including America, what we have said in recent decades is that we're just
00:12:33.400 an idea, but we can't define the idea. The idea that defines us is anything, anything that anyone
00:12:40.700 wants it to be. Which is to say, we have decided that we are nothing. We are a vacuum. And guess
00:12:49.000 what happens to vacuums? Other stuff fills them up. That's the definition of a vacuum. And that's 0.85
00:12:56.120 exactly what is happening in the West, in the United States, in mainland Europe. And you're
00:13:02.380 seeing this in particular in the European outposts that still remain in places like North Africa and
00:13:08.720 the islands around it. That's what you're seeing. We've said that we are nothing, and a civilization
00:13:12.840 that says that it is nothing will be conquered and deserves to be conquered. Do you want an
00:13:16.740 alternative? If you want an alternative, you've got to get really tough. You have to oust these
00:13:21.040 socialist governments. You need to impose a little bit of authority. I know we're all afraid of that
00:13:25.960 word authority, and you need tough guys with weapons who believe in something to say no and
00:13:31.660 turn them back, like we have been doing since the 8th century, with sometimes more success,
00:13:37.560 sometimes less success. Do we think that Charles Martel is the bad guy? Was the Holy League the
00:13:43.540 bad guy at the Battle of Lepanto when they turned away the invading Turkish hordes? Was Jan Sobieski
00:13:48.300 the bad guy at the Battle of Vienna, turned away the 17th century attempt of the Muslims to conquer 0.71
00:13:53.740 Europe? No. If anything, it is the people who control our governments today. They're the bad
00:13:59.840 guys. They are selling out our cultural patrimony. They're selling out our countries
00:14:03.440 by turning them into nothing. Well, we need them to be something. And some liberal platitudes are
00:14:09.520 not going to constitute something. The only thing that can possibly define the West is Christianity. 0.59
00:14:15.840 And if we don't believe in it anymore, we're going to be defined by something else.
00:14:18.980 Now, speaking of our politicians, the Democrats have replaced that Senate candidate in Maine.
00:14:24.940 They picked this guy. It was a very cynical attempt to appeal to the working class. 0.86
00:14:29.840 which they consider to be violent and stupid and nasty and vulgar and ugly. 1.00
00:14:34.840 And so the left, which has lost the working class during the Trump era, 1.00
00:14:38.040 they said, we're going to appeal to the working class.
00:14:39.220 We're going to pick this guy, Graham Plattner.
00:14:40.480 He's going to be our Senate candidate in Maine. 0.84
00:14:42.200 And he might be a Nazi. 0.66
00:14:43.640 He's got this Nazi tattoo that he didn't cover up until very, very recently 0.55
00:14:46.600 because he was going to run for Senate.
00:14:48.080 And yeah, okay, there are some rape allegations against him,
00:14:51.420 like multiple, a lot of rape allegations, some of which seem pretty credible. 1.00
00:14:55.820 But whatever, those stupid, rude, working class, violent idiots, 1.00
00:14:58.980 it's those bitter clingers, whatever, they'll go for it. And it didn't work. It blew up in their 1.00
00:15:02.120 face. They said, okay, we're gonna get rid of that guy just in time. We're gonna replace him
00:15:06.300 with the new Democrat Senate nominee in Maine. This is great. We're gonna sail to victory over
00:15:11.440 Susan Collins in the midterms. Just one problem. Turns out this guy has fathered multiple children
00:15:18.420 with his cousin. We'll get to that in a moment. First, I wanna tell you about Cardiff. Go to
00:15:24.540 cardiff.co slash Knowles. People sometimes talk about the economy as though it's this abstract
00:15:29.940 thing floating somewhere above our heads. It is not. The economy is your local coffee shop. It's
00:15:34.240 the family-owned construction company. It's the neighborhood machine shop. It is the husband and
00:15:38.180 wife who decided to risk everything to build a business instead of simply collecting a paycheck.
00:15:42.760 Problem is that building a business is hard enough without having to spend weeks or even months 1.00
00:15:46.520 trying to convince a bank to help you grow. The paperwork alone is enough to discourage a lot of
00:15:51.520 good entrepreneurs. That's where Cardiff comes in. If you want bank rates without the bank delays,
00:15:55.240 Cardiff can get your business approved in minutes and funded the very same day. Check out
00:15:58.740 cardiff.co slash Knowles, K-N-O-W-L-E-S, up to half a million dollars in same-day funding.
00:16:04.240 America built on the backs of small business. And finally, we have some people helping them out.
00:16:09.180 Cardiff has funded more than $12 billion for businesses since 2004, making them the largest
00:16:13.640 privately held small business lender in the country. The application takes less than five
00:16:17.200 minutes. There's no impact on your personal credit, and business owners can use the funding.
00:16:21.200 however they need. Banks try to lock out small businesses. Cardiff has the key. Big banks may
00:16:27.160 not want to approve your business loans. Cardiff does. If you've been in business for at least a
00:16:30.860 year and are pulling in $20,000 a month in revenue, apply now for up to half a million bucks in same
00:16:35.300 day business funding at cardiff.co slash Knowles. That is cardiff, C-A-R-D-I-F-F dot C-O slash Knowles,
00:16:42.120 K-N-W-L-E-S, real growth, fast funding, Cardiff, borrow better. You cannot make it up.
00:16:47.740 gotta give a hat tip here great reporting from my buddy steve robinson up there in maine really
00:16:54.920 single-handedly carrying the conservative media in maine really crucial reporting and the report
00:17:01.240 suggests that the the new democrat senate candidate in maine troy jackson to replace the alleged nazi
00:17:08.820 graham plattner he he didn't marry his cousin they're not married but they live together as
00:17:16.900 if they were married, and they're cousins. They're second cousins. They've raised and
00:17:23.060 created multiple children together. Really, if you look at the Plattner pick as just a really
00:17:30.180 cynical choice by Democrats, we say, all right, okay, we got to win back the working class. What
00:17:35.580 are those people like? Yeah, they probably like Nazism. And what else do they like? They like 0.90
00:17:40.000 vulgarity, and they like domestic abuse and rape and stuff like that, and drunks. And yeah, 0.99
00:17:45.200 just give him one of those guys. That didn't work. All right. What else does the working
00:17:48.780 class like? They're a bunch of incestuous maniacs. Let's give him a guy who fathered 1.00
00:17:53.580 two kids with his cousin. Just so cynical. It's so deeply cynical. I guess this does relate to
00:18:00.440 our previous story in as much as we are talking about people who have children with their cousins. 0.80
00:18:07.340 We do see a kind of connection between the invading Muslim hordes and the Democrat 0.76
00:18:12.340 Senate candidate in Maine. This guy, the fact that he fathered a couple of kids with his cousin,
00:18:17.920 allegedly, that's like the 15th worst thing about him. This guy is bad on his face.
00:18:26.880 Radically pro-LGBT ideology, radically pro-abortion. He wasn't always that way.
00:18:33.320 So he's either just a cynical politician who doesn't really believe in anything,
00:18:36.620 or maybe even worse, he's just become much more radical over time.
00:18:41.000 He supports abolishing ICE.
00:18:43.140 So he wants Maine to turn into the next Utah.
00:18:46.940 He wants open borders.
00:18:48.180 He wants hostile hordes of young, violent men to pour into our country, to pour into Maine, I guess.
00:18:55.240 Maybe he thinks Maine is far enough away.
00:18:57.620 Lily White is the freshly driven snow that it'll be protected.
00:19:00.060 But I don't think he really cares.
00:19:00.920 He wants to open up the borders, abolish ICE, stop people from deporting the criminals.
00:19:05.100 And by the way, the man with children by his cousin
00:19:09.900 is endorsed by the Democratic Socialists of America.
00:19:13.320 So the Dems think that they've put forward
00:19:16.700 a more attractive candidate,
00:19:18.440 more attractive perhaps to his family members.
00:19:20.500 I don't think more attractive to voters.
00:19:22.120 What they've done here is the same thing
00:19:23.800 that you saw with James Tallarico in Texas.
00:19:26.500 In Texas, the Democrats realized
00:19:28.360 after getting obliterated in the 2024 election
00:19:30.460 because of their embrace of wokeness,
00:19:32.520 they said, we cannot have a candidate
00:19:34.200 who seems woke. So in the case of James Tallarico, they pick a guy who's white.
00:19:40.280 He's ostensibly straight. He pretends to be Christian. He's not Christian. If anything,
00:19:46.940 he's anti-Christian. Everything he says about religion is hideously sacrilegious, 0.97
00:19:52.760 contrary to the faith. He invokes the Blessed Virgin Mary to promote abortion.
00:19:57.420 He says that God is non-binary. He makes a mockery of religion. He says he's learned more
00:20:04.020 about his religion from Muslims than from Christian writers. I guess he's learned more
00:20:07.560 from Saeed Qutb than St. Paul. But the Democrats, because they're so, it's not that they're
00:20:13.920 superficial, they do actually consider ideas, but they are cynical about their voters. They have a
00:20:19.940 very low opinion of voters. And so they say, well, on the surface, he seems like a normal guy.
00:20:24.500 But you scratch just slightly below the surface in Texas, and James Tallarico is as radical a
00:20:29.760 politician as we've ever had run for office. Same thing goes for this guy up in Maine.
00:20:33.760 They say, okay, he's a white guy. It's the same thing as Tallarico. He's a white guy. He wears 0.57
00:20:39.820 button-down shirts. He's straight. He does have some weird sexual predilections, it would appear,
00:20:48.520 but at least his cousin's a woman, so we're going to pick that guy. 0.95
00:20:53.220 But he's just as radical as any of them. He's as radical as Ilhan Omar or AOC or Zoran Mamdani
00:20:59.100 or any of the other Democratic socialists,
00:21:01.060 he is endorsed by the socialists.
00:21:02.740 This is a problem for the Democrat base.
00:21:05.460 New numbers just came in being reported by The Hill
00:21:07.540 according to a new CNN poll.
00:21:10.220 One in three Democrats now identifies as a socialist.
00:21:15.400 We have never seen anything like this in the country.
00:21:17.680 Even during the big rise of socialism, anarchism,
00:21:21.080 bombings on Wall Street,
00:21:22.420 the rise of Eugene Debs running for president.
00:21:25.260 When Eugene Debs ran for president,
00:21:26.680 he got 8% of the vote.
00:21:27.620 Now we have one in three voters of America's biggest political party openly identifying as
00:21:33.120 socialists. We'll get to that in a second. First, I want to tell you about Pure Talk.

00:22:50.020 available. We have, in fact, as I predicted, sold through a lot of our stock. Actually, I think we've
00:22:55.320 sold through more than half the stock already. If you want it, I'm like not even really promoting
00:23:00.560 this thing that much. I do want you, the great Michael Knowles Show listeners, the creme de la
00:23:04.500 creme, to know about this because it is going to sell out. This is the thing with physical products
00:23:08.520 is there are limited numbers of them. Beautiful Spanish cedar interior, which is what you want.
00:23:13.120 People use other woods. You really don't want that. You want Spanish cedar. This is your real
00:23:18.420 classy carry case. It's going to protect your cigars in your suitcase, your briefcase, wherever.
00:23:23.140 It's also just nice to bring to the dinner, the party, the restaurant you trip. Get the Mayflower
00:23:28.740 leather travel humidor so you are ready wherever your voyage takes. You must be 21 years old or
00:23:33.280 older to order. Void where prohibited conditions and exclusions apply. Really, really troubling
00:23:38.980 report. About a third of Democrats identify as democratic socialists. But again, the democratic
00:23:45.440 modifier here to the word socialist is immaterial. Yeah, we have a democratic system. So if you're
00:23:51.120 going to be a socialist in America, you pretty much have to be a democratic socialist. But what
00:23:55.140 really defines ideology is the socialism. This, according to the CNN poll conducted by SSRS.
00:24:05.220 Now, what this also tells you is that the Democratic Party has totally moved past
00:24:10.200 Christianity. Christianity, which was the animating force in America, 0.78
00:24:15.160 there was always a heterodox take on Christianity in the United States because the United States 0.53
00:24:20.700 was founded, going all the way back to the Mayflower, which is a great cigar brand, by the
00:24:23.500 way, founded by these brownist separatists who didn't want to purify the Church of England.
00:24:28.520 They actually weren't even Puritans. They wanted to separate from the Church of England. The
00:24:32.760 Church of England, which they viewed as too Catholic. It wasn't Catholic. It's obviously
00:24:36.140 Protestant, but they wanted to separate entirely. Then you had waves of Puritans coming by who were 0.92
00:24:41.760 sort of lower church Calvinists who wanted to change the Church of England. Then they come in, 0.97
00:24:50.220 but then you have all sorts of groups in America. You even had Catholics in Maryland,
00:24:54.860 not for very long because the Protestants then kind of took over and kept Catholics out of
00:24:59.140 public office, but you still had some Catholics. You had a Catholic signer of the Declaration
00:25:02.740 of Independence. We had some Catholic founding fathers, but all sorts of groups. Every variety
00:25:08.540 of Protestantism you can imagine. They even had some Catholics, even had some Jews. Washington
00:25:13.500 famously wrote a letter telling the Jews that they were part of the American project and they
00:25:17.640 should feel welcome here and all the rest of it. Nevertheless, the country was always broadly 0.96
00:25:21.920 Christian. You see this in the Federalist Papers, Federalist No. 2 by John Jay. You see this in the
00:25:26.780 writings of John Adams, who says that independence in America was one on the principles of Christianity
00:25:31.780 in which all the sects are united. You see this in speeches in America, going back to a shiny
00:25:37.820 city upon a hill, model of Christian charity, Governor John Winthrop, all the way up through
00:25:41.300 Ronald Reagan, invoking that very same speech, all the way up till today, at least by the
00:25:45.600 Republicans. But socialism and Christianity are incompatible. They're actually contrary to each 0.96
00:25:53.120 other. And speaking of those Catholics, I've on this show quoted many, many popes, many, many times 1.00
00:25:59.320 who have pointed out that one cannot simultaneously be a Christian and a socialist.
00:26:05.840 Socialism condemned by popes, going back to the rise of socialism with Pope Pius IX,
00:26:11.340 blessed Pius IX, and Xth and XIth and XIIth. You have invectives against socialism by Pope
00:26:17.620 Leo XIII. Popes calling socialists a wicked confederacy that seeks to steal the very gospel
00:26:24.240 itself. You have popes, even liberal popes, like John XXIII, the pope who inaugurated the beginning
00:26:30.500 of the Second Vatican Council well into the 20th century. Pope John XXIII saying that a Christian
00:26:35.640 cannot adhere even to a moderate form of socialism. But let's drill in a little bit more,
00:26:39.780 because I've said, until I'm blue in the face on the show, that Christians can't be socialists, 0.99
00:26:43.420 and I've given all sorts of historical authority for that. But here's why. Let's zoom in on Pope 0.99
00:26:49.220 Leo XIII. Taylor Marshall has a really good rundown on his website of this. But some quotes
00:26:54.400 from Leo XIII as to why Christians can't be socialists. Leo writes,
00:27:00.920 socialists, therefore, by endeavoring to transfer the possessions of individuals to the community
00:27:05.360 at large, strike at the very interests of every wage earner since they would deprive him of the
00:27:09.820 liberty of disposing of his wages and thereby of all hope and possibility of increasing his
00:27:14.160 resources and bettering his condition. So you saw this in New York with Zoran Ramdani. Zoran Ramdani
00:27:21.900 said, I'm going to have a pied-à-terre tax of only the very wealthiest people who don't even
00:27:25.880 really live in New York, and we're going to tax them. It's only going to be about 31,000 people.
00:27:31.180 Now, you'd say, well, that's still pretty wrong in principle. But some people are willing to make
00:27:35.680 moral compromises. They say, okay, as long as it's only a tiny percentage of the super-duper-duper
00:27:39.900 wealthy, then it's okay to soak them and take their property arbitrarily. But then what happened
00:27:44.860 when it was implemented? When it was implemented, it wasn't 31,000 people. It was almost a million
00:27:48.280 people. And they didn't just go in to take their property. Zoran Mamdani doxed them. At the same
00:27:52.400 time that the left is calling for violence against conservatives, against the wealthy,
00:27:56.720 against anyone who isn't purple-haired, shrieking Antifa slogans, you have Zoran Mamdani giving the
00:28:03.500 names and physical addresses of the people that he's trying to rob. And it's a lot more people.
00:28:08.300 It's an order of magnitude and multiples more than what he said.
00:28:10.980 So what Leo is saying is, by attacking these individuals, by trying to take their possessions and appropriate them supposedly to the community at large, the socialists are striking at every wage earner.
00:28:22.960 Because if they can do it to the rich, they can do it to you, and they will sooner rather than later.
00:28:27.640 He points out that Thomas Aquinas, talking about children, says that before the child attains the use of free will, is under the power and charge of its parents.
00:28:37.780 The socialists, therefore, in setting aside the parent and setting up a state supervision,
00:28:43.060 act against natural justice and destroy the structure of the home.
00:28:46.080 So the socialists are always trying to get at your kids. 0.79
00:28:48.440 That's why they were trying to put weird sex stuff in your kid's curriculum all the way down to kindergarten.
00:28:52.640 It's why they're constantly trying to get the kids out of the home and put them in pre-K and pre-pre-K and pre-pre-pre-K,
00:28:57.960 set up by the state to get them out of that influence of the home because they believe that they have a right to your children
00:29:02.640 so that they can brainwash them,
00:29:05.900 so that they can indoctrinate them in their own theories.
00:29:08.600 Aquinas points out, and Pope Leo is pointing,
00:29:11.300 Pope Leo XIII, not the 14th, who's the current Pope.
00:29:13.660 Pope Leo XIII is pointing out that St. Thomas Aquinas is right
00:29:16.080 when he says that here the socialists are acting
00:29:18.560 not just against property, but against natural justice
00:29:21.560 by turning the child against the parent.
00:29:25.100 Leo goes on, says, it must be, first of all,
00:29:28.380 recognized that the condition of things inherent
00:29:30.260 in human affairs must be born with,
00:29:31.880 for it is impossible to reduce civil society to one dead level. So the socialists say they want
00:29:35.960 to be egalitarian. They want to even out inequalities. But this is not possible. Even
00:29:42.300 in principle, this is not possible because diversity is part of human life. Some people
00:29:46.520 are bigger. Some people are faster. Some people are smarter. Some people are more clever. Some
00:29:50.020 people have this aptitude or that aptitude. So you can never reduce human society down to this
00:29:54.260 homogenized equality. That is not only contrary to justice. It's just contrary to reality.
00:30:01.880 to the given world. And so he writes, socialists may in that intent do their utmost, but all
00:30:07.420 striving against nature is in vain. So socialism is an attack on nature itself.
00:30:13.200 And he points out, such an inequality is far from being disadvantageous either to individuals or to
00:30:19.060 the community. Social and public life can only be maintained by means of various kinds of capacity
00:30:23.460 for business in the playing of many parts. And each man as a rule chooses the part which suits
00:30:28.080 his own particular peculiar domestic condition. So he says, look, you can't get rid of all 0.98
00:30:33.380 inequalities and you shouldn't want to because none of us is God. None of us can do everything
00:30:39.680 perfectly. So the fact that some people are better at things than others, the fact that there is a
00:30:45.380 natural diversity to life, not this contrived diversity of throwing open our borders and
00:30:49.680 flooding and displacing the populations of countries with foreigners, but the natural
00:30:53.640 diversity that comes out of life. That's actually good because I'm pretty good at selling cigars
00:31:01.260 and writing books, writing blank books, especially. But I guess I'm good at podcasting,
00:31:06.920 but you know what? I'm not good at baseball. And Aaron Judge, well, he's actually on the
00:31:11.000 disabled list right now. It's really annoying. But Aaron Judge or other good baseball players,
00:31:14.380 they're probably not good at podcasting or selling cigars or whatever, but they are pretty good at
00:31:19.300 baseball. I'm not good at carpentry, but some carpenters are really good at being a carpenter.
00:31:24.500 This natural diversity, this inequality is actually good. It's real, so you can't deny it.
00:31:31.840 And it actually is conducive to our benefit when we can turn it to good and use people's talents.
00:31:37.120 And one way to do that, to efficiently allocate resources around an economy,
00:31:40.420 is the free market with a Christian morality around it that makes sure that the people
00:31:46.740 who are truly destitute are brought in, are not just left to die on the street. That's what
00:31:52.340 Christianity does. Socialism leaves people to die on this. They say they don't leave people to die 0.95
00:31:56.020 on the street, but they immiserate people. That is the effect of socialism. And for others who are
00:32:01.680 not as educated, who are not as trained, we want to bring them in so that they can use their
00:32:06.420 unequal and natural talents for the good. This is part of a post-Christian society. 1.00
00:32:12.420 just as you see the tolerance, the toleration of endless hordes of foreigners with foreign
00:32:18.600 religions and foreign behaviors pouring into our country. That's part of a post-Christian society. 0.92
00:32:24.840 Going back to Charles Martel of the Franks, all the way up to Francisco Franco of Spain, 0.99
00:32:30.100 when we defined ourselves as a Christian society, we didn't tolerate that stuff. 0.98
00:32:34.140 A post-Christian society becomes a vacuum and sucks up everyone else from the rest of the world. 0.99
00:32:39.360 Well, same thing here. In a post-Christian society, socialism is very attractive. 0.94
00:32:44.520 In fact, that's the only kind of society in which socialism can be attractive.
00:32:48.900 Okay. I do want to get to, before we get to the mailbag, I want to get to this story.
00:32:53.520 Speaking of Christian society and laws that uphold the moral order,
00:32:57.460 there's this new law in Minnesota that will ban software that allows users to nudify an image.
00:33:03.960 So you upload an image of the girl in your math class. You upload an image of that lady at your
00:33:08.420 Jim that you think is pretty cute. You upload an image from her, and all these women and girls are
00:33:12.920 posting pictures of themselves endlessly on social media. So you just grab one of those images,
00:33:16.580 you upload it to one of these websites, and the website will generate a nude image of the girl.
00:33:21.840 And Minnesota says you can't do that anymore. So the reason that Elon Musk is being smeared over
00:33:27.340 this is Elon Musk owns Grok, XAI. And the AI bots can be used for myriad activities, one of which,
00:33:35.040 I guess, could be this sort of thing. So, Musk is coming in, and he says, there's a lawsuit.
00:33:39.800 And the left is saying, Elon Musk wants to encourage nudifying applications on his platform.
00:33:46.800 And that's not really what this is about. Elon Musk is saying, yeah, yeah, no, you shouldn't
00:33:50.280 be able to nudify people. That's really bad. But this legislation could attack all sorts of other
00:33:56.620 things in my software. And so, we need to make sure that the regulations are right here.
00:34:02.500 And Elon Musk is much better for society than the government of Minnesota.
00:34:05.520 And so, you know, he needs to be heard out on this.
00:34:07.940 And the legislation does need to be crafted very carefully.
00:34:10.620 But in principle, the legislation is very good.
00:34:13.000 And it's actually even better than the legislators think it is.
00:34:16.640 Because the way this legislation is framed, the way this whole debate is framed, 0.74
00:34:22.080 is that you should not be able to take a picture of some lady
00:34:25.820 and nudify the image without that person's consent.
00:34:30.240 that's that's the moral principle on which this legislation and this whole debate hinges
00:34:37.480 consent you should not be able to generate pornographic images of people without their
00:34:44.560 consent and it i yeah i guess i'll take that law but it's really not about consent
00:34:51.660 the reason that the first amendment does not protect this kind of speech does not
00:34:59.680 protect nudifying apps, the generation of these kinds of images, is not because of a lack of
00:35:04.560 consent. It's because it's obscene. It's because it's pornography. It's because it appeals to the
00:35:10.580 prurient interest. It's because it takes people out of their reason and actually, rather than
00:35:15.660 expanding the possibility of speech, it actually undermines the possibility of speech because
00:35:20.060 speech requires that we're in command of our rational faculties. That's why content that
00:35:24.220 appeals to the prurient interest is not protected. That's why for the vast majority of American
00:35:28.340 history until liberal judges decided to destroy our free speech tradition in the name of free
00:35:33.320 speech in the 20th century. That is why we banned all this kind of stuff. The way that you know this
00:35:41.020 is silly, the argument over consent, is that, let's say I were a great painter. I'm not a good
00:35:47.200 baseball player. I'm not a good carpenter. I'm not a good painter either. Let's say I were a really
00:35:50.140 good painter, though, and a creep, a total pervert. Let's say that I were a student and I looked at 0.61
00:35:56.080 that girl in my math class, or I went to the gym, which I certainly never do, and I looked at that
00:36:00.300 lady in my gym. And I had a perfect image of this person. And I went home, and I painted an elaborate,
00:36:07.480 photorealistic, nude image of that person. The issue here would not be that I was wrong because
00:36:17.400 I didn't get the consent of that woman. And there's really nothing to stop me from doing that 0.68
00:36:21.920 other than my lack of talent in painting and my own moral code, which is the Christian code. 1.00
00:36:30.800 The thing that is really creepy and wrong and pervy about that, and that where it intersects 0.99
00:36:37.120 with public life, like companies that offer apps to nudify, the reason it's wrong is because it's 0.99
00:36:42.820 gross and pervy and creepy and weird and appeals to the prurian interest and is obscene.
00:36:48.580 but the the liberal morality says that the only valid moral criterion is consent because liberalism
00:36:57.500 as such aims at as an ultimate good the maximizing of individual autonomy and this is why this
00:37:05.780 actually touches on other debates that you're seeing play out i think in a sort of labored way
00:37:11.780 over even the presidential election which which are these terms floating around post-liberalism
00:37:17.460 other to integralism and this ism and that ism let's focus on post-liberalism for a second
00:37:23.160 which has floated around uh conservative circles actually for decades now
00:37:26.940 what even liberal circles actually what post-liberalism is ultimately saying is that
00:37:36.320 liberalism political liberalism is insufficient and one of the reasons that political liberalism
00:37:41.740 is insufficient is because it takes as its only moral criterion consent and it makes as the
00:37:47.440 ultimate good, the maximizing of individual autonomy. But we all know that the society
00:37:51.920 that maximizes individual autonomy is the society that says you can kill yourself in the street
00:37:57.780 shooting up heroin. It's a society that says you can chop off your genitals and pretend to be the 0.99
00:38:02.300 opposite sex. It's the society that says that boys can play in girls' sports and boys can go 0.99
00:38:06.480 into girls' bathrooms. It's, in other words, a terrible society. It's totally contrary to society
00:38:13.700 because society is how we all live together, because man is a political creature.
00:38:18.520 So even this discussion of post-liberalism, it's not a movement. It's not an ideology even. It's
00:38:25.780 not the political program of some candidate or other. Post-liberalism is, I think Adrian Vermeule
00:38:31.460 pointed this out, is an entirely negative category. And that way, it's kind of like Protestantism.
00:38:36.740 Protestantism, there's no one Protestantism. You can't really just attack Protestantism as such,
00:38:43.320 not for very long at least, because Protestantism is defined by what it is not. Protestantism is
00:38:48.480 just not Catholicism. But all the Protestants disagree over all sorts of stuff. The same thing
00:38:52.620 goes for post-liberalism. And post-liberalism in many ways is a descriptive fact rather than a
00:38:57.240 prescriptive political program because it says, look, liberalism has failed, and we all kind of
00:39:01.680 acknowledge it. Even the Democrats in Minnesota acknowledge it when they pass laws against
00:39:06.500 denudifying applications. We acknowledge it when we pass laws against drugs. We acknowledge it
00:39:13.540 when there's a massive popular uprising against transgenderism. It's a recognition that there's 0.99
00:39:19.160 a role for a certain kind of autonomy. There's a role for individual liberty as opposed to
00:39:24.800 political liberty. But these are not the ultimate good. These are instruments in service of
00:39:31.260 something. You see this in the preamble to the Constitution. Let's say that the Constitution
00:39:37.240 is established to give to people the blessings of liberty. Well, the blessings of liberty,
00:39:41.960 one, have to be blessings, not curses. This is why it's silly to call transgenderism a blessing 1.00
00:39:45.740 of liberty, as David French did. But the blessings of liberty, that very phrase, which frames our 0.94
00:39:51.220 Constitution, tells you right off the bat, liberty is not an end unto itself. Liberty is for
00:39:58.060 something. So in a way, I guess we're all post-liberals now. Okay. I want to get to my
00:40:02.800 favorite time of the week, the mailbag first, though. I didn't pick the comment. No, did I?
00:40:06.840 I did pick the comment today. This is from Charles N. Charge, who says, Dr. Fauci should
00:40:10.520 be forced to take COVID boosters for the rest of his life. Yes, it's a punishment. I guess it's
00:40:17.320 not lethal injection. It's supposedly healthy injection. Isn't that? It's a very Dantean
00:40:21.920 punishment. You know where the sinners get what they want? Very C.S. Lewis-y. It's actually a lot 1.00
00:40:28.140 of Christian mystics have pointed this out over the years, that hell is the place where you get 0.51
00:40:33.360 what you want. And if your desires are evil, then you're just going to get that. You're going to be
00:40:39.540 punished by your very desires. That's kind of a definition of hell and sin. Yeah, so okay, Fauci's
00:40:45.520 punishment is he just gets endless COVID boosters. See how you like it. Okay, my favorite time of
00:40:50.440 week is here our mailbag is sponsored by pure talk at pure talk.com slash knolls canna wlis to
00:40:54.900 start saving today take it away hi michael it's sarah again your last yes or no episode you guys
00:41:03.340 talked a lot about trad wives i am one i know your wife is one there are so many of us that just like
00:41:09.060 don't engage on the internet and that's why we're like so happy and thriving honest to goodness um
00:41:16.360 what more can i be doing to help this world because i feel like i got my kids handled we're
00:41:22.820 doing great but like there's more that i need to be doing especially after charlie and everything
00:41:27.980 what more can the trad wives be doing to help this world great question and i love i've actually
00:41:34.000 played this question this morning i was going through the voicemail bag that professor jacob
00:41:37.240 sent over and i'm lying in bed with sweet little lisa and as as you're playing it she jokes she
00:41:42.160 goes well tell her to stop talking to a man on the internet through the voicemail bag but it's
00:41:45.800 a joke. It was, that was a joke. It's a really, really good question because you're right. You're
00:41:49.400 a trad wife as a sweet little Elisa. People always say, when is Elisa going to come on the show? 1.00
00:41:54.360 Say she's not because she's actually a trad wife. All these women who have podcasts, 1.00
00:41:59.360 who go, who are influencers, who are always posting themselves on Instagram. Sometimes 1.00
00:42:03.320 they'll say they're trad wives, even they'll have accounts about being a trad wife, but that's
00:42:07.640 a contradiction in terms. If you are a trad wife, social media influencer, you are by definition,
00:42:12.920 not a trad wife. So what you're asking is, is there a role for women, for a trad wife
00:42:20.020 in public life? Because the trad wife is almost defined by the husband being the face of the 0.76
00:42:25.380 public life of the family and the wife being the face of the private life of the family. 1.00
00:42:30.040 That's why the wife is a homemaker. There was recently some discussion on social media
00:42:34.040 about this insidious shift in language. We used to call women who do what you do,
00:42:40.320 we used to call them homemakers. Now we call them stay-at-home moms. What an insidious shift 0.94
00:42:46.440 of language. Stay-at-home mom, it makes it sound like this woman is just like popping bonbons all 1.00
00:42:52.840 day watching Maury Povich. That's not what these women do. These women are more accurately described 1.00
00:42:59.960 as homemakers. You make a home. The man doesn't really make a home. The man might buy a home, 1.00
00:43:05.580 but the man doesn't make a home. It's the wife who makes a home by managing the home economy, 1.00
00:43:09.640 by raising the children, by cooking, by cleaning, by doing all of those things, 1.00
00:43:13.060 by curating the social life of the family. And so here, I guess, is where it intersects with
00:43:17.360 public life because the home has a door and people come in and out of it. We know that,
00:43:23.980 and well, we know that. Most people no longer know it, but that the hand that rocks the cradle is
00:43:28.300 the hand that rules the world. And that the husband might be the head of the family, but
00:43:31.720 the wife might be the neck. And the neck has a role in turning the head. But in as much as the 0.83
00:43:37.240 wife is involved in the raising of children, she's going to be involved with the schooling of 0.99
00:43:41.800 children. In as much as the wife is involved in the social life of the family, she's the one who's 0.92
00:43:47.240 going to be curating the dinner parties, who's going to be inviting people over, who's going to
00:43:50.880 be involved in the community, especially the local community. That's the intersection, I think.
00:43:55.820 And just as a matter of politics, a lot more relevant political good for your life can be
00:44:04.040 accomplished at the local level. It's not to say there isn't a role of national politics. There is,
00:44:08.660 and conservatives need to get tougher about it. But in your position, as you're describing it,
00:44:13.000 you could probably do much more good in involvement in your kid's PTA and in civic engagement and
00:44:21.760 setting up dinner parties and in managing the home economy, et cetera, et cetera,
00:44:26.420 than you would in running for Senate, say. Probably a lot more good would be done,
00:44:31.700 also because the Senate doesn't really do anything.
00:44:33.160 Okay, next question.
00:44:35.880 Good morning, Michael.
00:44:36.820 This is Arun.
00:44:37.760 So I think we are viewing this Mr. Fauci scandal entirely through the wrong lens.
00:44:41.800 I don't care about the virus's origins or whether Mr. Fauci funded the research that
00:44:47.780 created it through EcoHealth Alliance or if the virus even existed or not.
00:44:52.960 I care about the fact that he advised the American people to shut down bars, restaurants,
00:44:57.780 movie theaters, bowling alleys, and all the other leisure activities that make life worth living.
00:45:03.100 You do not have the right to do that to the American people. That is a violation
00:45:06.700 of our basic right to locomotion. And that is why we should be angry at Mr. Fauci.
00:45:13.100 What is your take on the matter? Thank you, as always, for your wisdom.
00:45:16.180 Yes, excellent question, Arun. I wouldn't use the same language of rights exactly that you're
00:45:21.780 using. I wouldn't try to reduce it to something so simple or ideological as our right to locomotion.
00:45:31.240 Because I don't have a right to locomotion when the handlebars come down on a train track and
00:45:35.940 the train's going by. I have to stop at that. I have to stop at a red light. But the point that
00:45:41.700 you're making, I think, is very good, which is that with Fauci, the thing he did is not just
00:45:47.460 lie about a virus. The thing he did was not just a profit off of our misery. The thing he did was
00:45:52.740 really screw up our society. The thing he did was stop kids from seeing their grandparents before
00:46:01.060 they died. The thing he did was prevent marriages. The thing that he did was stop kids from going to
00:46:07.020 school and going to prom and all the rest of it. He really messed up our political life,
00:46:12.520 our traditions and he did it for no good reason and he lied to us about it that's the real issue
00:46:18.040 his his crime was not against our individual rights as much as it was against our whole
00:46:22.840 political order our community our habits our traditions that's the issue that's that's much
00:46:28.580 harder to forgive him for than getting getting the science wrong or even lying about it all right
00:46:32.280 one last question before we get to the member segmentum good morning michael um i'm just uh
00:46:38.480 here to ask you kind of a question um a couple weeks ago you said something about uzbekistan
00:46:43.040 stan think of how you said it and just about immigration in general um specifically that 0.84
00:46:47.940 people from these muslim countries we should let less of them in and that we should focus more 1.00
00:46:51.840 people from european countries and people with similar backgrounds like that and i largely agree 1.00
00:46:56.580 but it struck me because my father-in-law is actually from uzbekistan my wife is half uzbek
00:47:01.520 um and he has actually been a net benefit to our country learned english before he came here
00:47:07.320 converted to christianity and is now a lieutenant colonel in the army um because he's been such a
00:47:13.180 good influence here and has allowed my wife to be here i feel very strongly that he should have
00:47:17.540 been allowed in here and i'm glad that he came um but i do agree with you on the notion that
00:47:22.200 we should really be bringing people in who can assimilate better but i'm just wondering what
00:47:26.820 you think the vetting process for that should be like um and how much should we do it generally
00:47:31.120 and how specific should we get with each person that comes in um thank you very much great great
00:47:36.220 question because he should have been let in. Yeah, I think we would all agree he should have
00:47:41.400 been let in. They should not have. In other words, all of the migrants, the 15 million illegals and
00:47:48.920 then the also gigantic number of legal immigrants, they should not have been allowed to come in 1.00
00:47:55.700 because this huge number of foreigners has really messed up social solidarity and angered people and 1.00
00:48:02.540 violated the rights of Americans to determine who comes in. So they should not have been allowed in, 1.00
00:48:07.360 but he should have been allowed in. Your description of your Uzbeki wife, I prefer the 1.00
00:48:13.420 Herman Cain pronunciation of the country. I think he called it Uzbeki, Becky, Becky, Stan, Stan,
00:48:17.500 Stan during the presidential race. But your description of your wife, it reminds me of that
00:48:21.400 great adage, never ask a woman her age, never ask a man his salary, never ask a conservative
00:48:27.460 the ethnicity of his wife. But this actually gets to the point of how conservatives think
00:48:33.920 about migration. The left wants to say that we just hate people or we're xenophobic or we're
00:48:37.920 racist or whatever. And we're actually not. We're not. I'm sure your wife is great. Sounds like her
00:48:42.440 father is awesome. It's not our opposition to the migration. This ties us all the way back to the
00:48:47.540 top of the show. Do not just blame it on the foreigners. It's actually not chiefly about 1.00
00:48:54.040 the foreigners. When it comes to Muslims in North Africa and elsewhere, they've been trying to
00:48:58.420 invade the West forever. Nothing about them has changed. We are the ones who have changed. 1.00
00:49:03.740 It's not exactly about something that they are doing. It's something that we have done,
00:49:08.820 which is we've changed how our societies work. We have stopped listening to the sensitivities
00:49:13.100 of people who claim a legitimate right to determine who comes in and out. 0.94
00:49:17.640 And the issue with the migrants is that they're not from here. Even if they're really nice and 1.00
00:49:22.260 law-abiding. They often don't speak our language. They often don't believe our religion. They
00:49:27.460 certainly don't have our customs and habits when they arrive here. Some countries are closer to 0.50
00:49:31.540 our customs and habits than others. It's easier to assimilate a Brit than it is to assimilate a
00:49:34.820 Tibetan or a Ghanaian or something. But it's not really about them. It's about migration.
00:49:40.780 Even if the migrants were the most lovely people in the world, and a lot of them are not, 0.98
00:49:44.900 but even if they were, that's not the issue. The issue is that you just have too many of them. 1.00
00:49:50.300 so we need a period of severe restriction of migration not because we hate people not because 0.96
00:49:56.080 we think they're all evil jerks or something but just because of migration itself you can 1.00
00:50:00.080 a polity cannot tolerate too large a percentage of foreigners you need to let them assimilate 1.00
00:50:05.940 over time your father-in-law assimilated very very quickly others do not so we need to send 1.00
00:50:11.200 the ones who won't back the ones that will tolerate will assimilate over time they'll be
00:50:17.300 basically indiscernible from ordinary Americans over time. But that takes a process of generations.
00:50:23.280 And you can't have that process play out at all when you're flooding the country with foreigners. 1.00
00:50:27.880 It really does highlight a great answer conservatives have to the left, which is 0.99
00:50:32.340 the left just fundamentally misunderstands our objection to immigration. And they
00:50:37.560 misunderstand immigration too. Or maybe they understand it, and they just do want to destroy 0.99
00:50:41.020 our countries. Okay, it's Fake Headline Friday. The rest of the show continues now. You do not
