00:01:18.020 lender with over $12 billion funded since 2004, applying under three minutes for same-day funding
00:01:21.640 up to 500,000 at cardiff.co slash Knowles. The federal government has reportedly obtained DNA
00:01:28.380 evidence that Ilhan Omar married her brother, adding yet another data point that the feds
00:01:34.940 actually could deport one of the most annoying members of Congress. Then the WNBA officially
00:01:40.020 rules on whether or not six foot, 10 feet tall former NBA player Ennis Cantor Freedom can play
00:01:47.120 in the Women's Basketball League. And the Ohio governor race gets down in the muck as Democrat
00:01:52.280 candidate Amy Acton comes out swinging against an attack ad from her own mom. I'm Michael Knowles.
00:01:58.360 This is The Michael Knowles Show.
00:02:17.120 Welcome back to the show. We have an update from the campaign trail on President Trump's
00:02:21.820 favorite new comedy bit, where he talks about the Republican Senate candidate John Husted's
00:02:28.020 derriere. President Trump is increasing Husted's chances of winning this race. Wait, sorry,
00:02:35.800 is it Husted or Mike Rogers, who he says is really hot? I think it's Husted. In any case,
00:02:40.080 maybe it could be all of them. He is increasing the odds of a Republican victory.
00:02:44.340 one lascivious joke at a time.
00:02:47.440 We will get to all of it.
00:02:48.800 First, though, I want to tell you about Leaf Filter.

00:03:06.300 Ah, a small problem gets ignored,
00:03:08.340 the weather arrives,
00:03:09.080 and suddenly you're staring at a much larger problem
00:03:11.460 and an invoice worthy of a jump scare.

00:04:05.900 Before we get to any of it, a little bit of bright, happy news.
00:04:10.780 The polls are mixed, but there's a little happy news on the horizon.
00:04:14.640 Ilhan Omar legitimately might get deported.
00:04:17.100 The latest development in this now months-long investigation into what appears to be an immigration fraud case against Ilhan Omar
00:04:27.060 is that the feds have obtained DNA evidence reportedly proving that Ilhan Omar did in fact marry her brother.
00:04:35.320 So that means that she would have committed immigration fraud.
00:04:38.380 She would have aided her brother in committing immigration fraud for him to become a U.S.
00:04:43.260 citizen.
00:04:43.940 Now, this is a little strange because there was that pre-dawn raid on Ilhan Omar's home,
00:04:49.160 which seemed to focus on whether or not Ilhan Omar committed immigration fraud herself.
00:04:54.560 So that's actually an unrelated case.
00:04:56.460 You say, how do these two intersect?
00:04:58.420 Well, the basis of the home raid appears to be that Ilhan Omar lied about when she was born.
00:05:06.600 And this is because Ilhan Omar got her citizenship at the age of 17 through a program that allowed the minor children of naturalized citizens to get citizenship more easily.
00:05:15.300 So you could say, all right, Ilhan Omar personally is not all that culpable because she was a minor at the time.
00:05:20.780 So really that would reflect on her father.
00:05:23.580 However, if Ilhan Omar has repeated the false birth date, if Ilhan Omar, when she's applying
00:05:31.220 for a passport, when she's altering her documents, potentially even a birth certificate,
00:05:36.000 if she continues to use the false birth date, then she herself would be committing a kind of fraud
00:05:42.820 that would also reset the statute of limitations, which is 10 years would have already expired
00:05:46.880 to go after her apparently illegitimate naturalization. There was another report
00:05:52.220 that came out a week ago that we talked about on the show in which Ilhan Omar's staff went in and
00:05:57.540 changed her documents, her official documents with regard to her birth date when she was elected to
00:06:02.900 Congress. So that implies some kind of knowledge that there was this immigration citizenship issue.
00:06:08.380 But then you say, okay, well, I get the case against Ilhan Omar, but why then are they bringing
00:06:13.020 up the issue of marrying the brother to help him commit immigration fraud? Well, according to the
00:06:18.300 reporting, it is because that would be evidence of a conspiracy to commit immigration fraud.
00:06:25.420 So we have here from the New York Post, given that the case is being pursued as a general
00:06:29.680 conspiracy, the evidence will prove useful even if some of the acts fall outside the statute of
00:06:35.280 limitations. According to a former federal prosecutor, Niyama Ramini, if you argue a
00:06:40.120 conspiracy, you can allege overt acts in furtherance of the conspiracy that are outside the
00:06:45.680 statute of limitations. So this means that we still have time, a little two weeks, a little
00:06:51.780 under two weeks now. No, I guess almost exactly two weeks for a proper October surprise before
00:06:58.760 the election. Our politics has really heated up. And this will pertain a little bit to the Ohio
00:07:07.100 Amy Acton mom calling her daughter a liar ad where people say, wow, our politics has gotten
00:07:13.640 really, really brutal, hasn't it? Yeah, I think so. You remember how the Democrats
00:07:17.740 tried to prosecute the former president of the United States four times and keep him off of a
00:07:22.540 ballot so that people couldn't vote for him and then justified his assassination multiple times?
00:07:27.100 Yeah, yeah, I think we're in pretty brutal political times. And this is a shock to many
00:07:31.680 people who remember the halcyon days of the 80s and 90s when politics was more civilized and
00:07:37.580 amiable and clubbable, at least in nostalgia, which is history after a few drinks. But don't
00:07:42.040 forget, for most of the history of politics, it is literally a bloodsport, not even figuratively
00:07:47.080 a bloodsport as it is right now. It is literally a bloodsport where kings and emperors and nobles
00:07:52.880 were all killing each other and chopping off each other's heads in order to win power.
00:07:58.060 So this is pretty serious, yes. Yeah, deporting a member of Congress, that would be pretty wild.
00:08:03.720 But also, how did we get to this point? How did we get to the point where someone who comes to
00:08:09.340 this country fraudulently can not only be allowed to stay here, but can actually be elected to
00:08:13.740 Congress. Someone who openly embraces America's enemies, who jokes about Al-Qaeda, which
00:08:19.080 perpetrated the worst terror attack against America ever, says, well, Al-Qaeda. How did we
00:08:25.160 get here? It is such an indictment of our current politics that Ilhan Omar is in Congress, that that
00:08:31.360 is really the scandal, far more than the fact that extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures
00:08:36.220 up to and including deporting a member of Congress. So we'll see how that goes. But the
00:08:41.020 prosecution here, or at least the investigation, does seem to have really dotted its Ts and crossed
00:08:47.600 its I's. I mean, this seems to be a very, very thoroughgoing investigation. You remember Tom
00:08:52.200 Homan was on TV about a month ago. He was asked about this. And he was pretty cautious in his
00:08:57.000 comments because he wants to allow the investigation to play out. There was a federal
00:09:00.480 judge involved in that, the DOJ involved in that, DHS involved in that. So there is some cause for
00:09:06.780 hope that we could get rid of Ilhan Omar. Okay. Now, speaking of down and dirty politics and
00:09:12.060 family controversies in politics, we're getting big, big updates on this advertisement I talked
00:09:17.120 about yesterday against Amy Acton in Ohio. This was the lead story of the show yesterday.
00:09:23.240 what I called the most brutal political ad I have ever seen. When Amy Acton, the Democrat
00:09:31.100 gubernatorial candidate in Ohio, she has her mother come on this ad and say, my daughter is
00:09:38.120 a liar. She's making all these claims about how she was raised and she's making them up. They're
00:09:44.040 not true. She's a liar and you can't have a liar for governor. So voters of Ohio, make sure you do
00:09:50.160 not elect my daughter. Absolutely brutal ad. And what was unusual about the ad that was spreading
00:09:55.760 on social media was it didn't have the disclaimer at the end, you know, paid for by Vivek or paid
00:10:01.780 for by some super PAC or paid for by students concerned about the Democrats winning the
00:10:06.340 governorship. And so that was a little unusual. The ad did not air on TV. The ad did not air on
00:10:12.080 radio. It was not even formally, it wasn't on Google AdSense or any of the Facebook or any of
00:10:16.800 these things. It just kind of popped up virally on social media. So now we get the story. The story
00:10:23.520 based on some reporting yesterday, and then the Ramaswamy campaign has come out and said it
00:10:29.700 itself, is that the ad was in fact being tested by the Ramaswamy campaign. So when the ad makers
00:10:37.640 and the strategists come out, they concoct all sorts of ads, and then they will test them.
00:10:41.780 They'll focus group them. They'll send them out. They'll get feedback on it. And if the ads don't
00:10:46.700 do well, they kill the ad. If the ads do do well, then they'll air them, and then you'd get the
00:10:51.140 little disclaimer on it. In this case, the ad leaked before the testing was done. That's why
00:10:57.280 it was going viral on social media yesterday. And of course, the Acton campaign and Acton
00:11:02.840 supporters immediately raised a hullabaloo about it and said, this is outrageous. My mom is lying.
00:11:08.940 So you get the first claim from maybe Acton saying, my childhood was very, very bad,
00:11:14.260 and my mother was terrible and I overcame all these awful challenges and I lived in a tent for
00:11:18.900 a while. It was really, really bad. Amy Acton's mother comes out and says, my daughter is lying.
00:11:25.660 So, okay, you have these two competing claims. And as everyone is raising this hullabaloo about
00:11:29.780 it, I pointed out, I said, okay, hold on. You got Amy Acton making one claim about serious claims
00:11:36.280 about neglect and abuse and court cases and criminal charges. And then you get the mother
00:11:41.300 coming out and saying, that's not true, she's a liar. There is a pretty easy way to resolve this
00:11:46.620 conflict. The easy way to resolve this conflict is to find some court documents, find some legal
00:11:52.060 documents to see who's telling the truth here. So as of yesterday, not just during this show,
00:11:58.280 but all the way through midday yesterday, we didn't really have a lot of evidence of these
00:12:02.940 documents. These claims have been around for a long time. The Ramaswamy campaign did not invent
00:12:08.520 these claims. This has been present since 2020. And still in the reporting from all these interviews
00:12:14.360 with Amy Acton, you don't see any evidence of the court documents. In fact, if you go to the
00:12:18.960 county's website, you're not going to find any evidence of criminal charges or juries or anything
00:12:23.080 like that. That all changed midday yesterday when National Review, a conservative outlet,
00:12:30.300 longstanding conservative outlet, comes out and obtains the court documents. So that gives a big
00:12:37.000 boost to Amy Acton. So you can see such a boost, I'm knocking furniture over on my set. Gives a
00:12:43.840 big boost to Amy Acton, and it takes away a lot of credibility from the mother. So all of a sudden
00:12:50.540 now, this ad could have a negative effect. Now, it's very unclear if it will, because there's some
00:12:57.340 severe political malpractice. Put aside the moral question for a second. There's some severe
00:13:01.600 political malpractice here from the ad makers and the strategists. Because if you're going to come
00:13:06.820 out with a brutal, brutal ad like this, you need to have everything lined up, especially if this
00:13:14.600 is a controversy that has been around for years. Amy Acton's been in public life for a pretty long
00:13:20.840 time now. I mean, she was the COVID czar in Ohio. She locked down Ohio. She was kind of the face of
00:13:26.000 COVID there. And so she's been in the spotlight for a very long time. And there have been all
00:13:29.600 sorts of issues with her family. There are the claims about her childhood, her mother, her abuse.
00:13:35.660 There are also multiple 911 calls, apparently, from Amy Acton's kid about domestic disputes within her own house.
00:13:42.800 So there's been a lot of weird stuff going on in the Acton family.
00:13:47.140 If you're the ad maker here and you're going to come out with this brutal attack, which is the mother calling the daughter a liar, you need to make sure that the story is totally straight.
00:14:00.040 And the ad makers didn't.
00:14:02.220 The strategists didn't.
00:14:04.260 National Review, within a matter of what, eight or 10 hours, was able to obtain these documents.
00:14:08.760 The ad makers, the strategists, absolutely should have done that.
00:14:12.720 Because this ad is targeting late-breaking voters.
00:14:17.780 The race was essentially tied.
00:14:19.900 There's actually a little more momentum for the Ramaswamy side.
00:14:24.020 Vivek was starting to lead a little bit more in the polls.
00:14:27.100 But at this point, nobody, very, very few people are still undecided in the Ohio governor's race.
00:14:33.660 The people who have a relatively coherent view of politics, on the left and on the right,
00:14:37.340 they already know who they're voting for. And their issues are not about family disputes,
00:14:40.700 and their issues are not about tabloid stuff and sensationalism. Their issues are,
00:14:45.020 are we going to murder babies or are we not going to murder babies? Are we going to flood
00:14:47.500 the country with illegals? Are we going to deport illegals? Are we going to burden businesses and
00:14:53.320 take people's property away? Are we going to increase economic dynamism? Whatever. On and on
00:14:59.160 on. It's those late breaking voters. Those are the ones that you've got to focus on. And the
00:15:05.600 late breaking voters don't have a particularly coherent worldview. If you've gotten to this
00:15:10.060 latest stage in the campaign and you still don't know who you're voting for, you got one party
00:15:14.020 that says we should castrate little kids and turn little boys into little girls, which is not
00:15:17.580 possible. And you got one side that says we shouldn't abuse little kids that way. You can't
00:15:22.500 make up your mind between those two things. Then that means that your political views are highly,
00:15:26.520 highly emotional. So that is the group that's being targeted here. And the bigger malpractice
00:15:32.800 is because this issue has been around for so long, the Acton campaign already had a response in the
00:15:39.540 can. They were already anticipating this kind of attack. So how is this going to play out in the
00:15:46.620 Ohio governor's race? We'll get into that in a second. First, though, I just mentioned the
00:15:50.020 abortion issue. I want to tell you about Preborn. Go to preborn.com slash Knowles, K-N-W-L-E-S. It
00:15:55.300 is remarkable how much can change in a single moment, a conversation, a decision, something
00:15:58.860 you see for the first time that changes the way you understand everything. For a mother facing an
00:16:04.220 unexpected pregnancy, that moment can come when she sees her baby on an ultrasound. That is exactly
00:16:09.120 what pre-born is making possible. At pre-born network clinics, women facing incredibly difficult
00:16:13.760 circumstances are met with compassion, practical support, and a free ultrasound. They're given the
00:16:18.720 opportunity to see their child, to hear that heartbeat, and know they don't have to face the
00:16:22.980 future alone. The results are extraordinary. Pre-born reports that more than 50,000 babies
00:16:27.440 have been saved this year alone, along with more than 5,100 commitments to Christ. Here is how
00:16:31.880 pre-born's president, Dan Steiner, describes the impact. Because of you, we can invite mothers
00:16:36.960 considering abortion into a pre-born network clinic to meet their baby, and when she has that
00:16:40.820 close encounter of the best kind in her womb, she is 80% more likely to choose life. Think about
00:16:45.120 that. Something as simple as giving a mother the chance to meet her child can make an extraordinary
00:16:49.860 difference. Now, Preborn wants to help rescue 50,000 more babies. You can be part of that.
00:16:54.520 Just $28 sponsors an ultrasound and can help save a baby's life. To give, dial pound 250,
00:16:59.700 say the keyword baby. That's pound 250, keyword baby, or donate securely at preborn.com slash
00:17:03.960 Knowles, K-N-W-L-E-S. That is preborn.com slash Knowles. All gifts are tax deductible.
00:17:10.540 How is this going to play out? Right now, the most recent polls we've got,
00:17:14.300 active vote survey conducted September 27th through October 19th among 400 likely midterm
00:17:19.840 voters puts Vivek at 51.4%, Acton at 48.6%. Margin of error is almost five points, so it's
00:17:26.880 a tied race. There's another survey, coefficient survey, conducted October 5th and 6th among 925
00:17:33.080 likely general election voters showing Vivek at 45, Acton at 43, again, well within the margin
00:17:38.540 and barrel. So what is this ad going to do? The fact that the Ramaswamy campaign has come out
00:17:46.600 and said, yeah, no, it's on us. We're not trying to squirm out of it or anything like that. We're
00:17:50.960 not going to blame it on some outside group. No, no, no. We're behind this ad. The fact that
00:17:55.480 they're taking responsibility says they're going to run the ad. Yeah, it wasn't on TV. Now it's
00:18:00.200 going to be on TV. We're doubling down. We're tripling down on this ad that a lot of people
00:18:05.100 find very, very objectionable. Huge, huge dynamic in the race, and what it suggests is that the ad
00:18:12.840 was testing well. Now, I'm very skeptical that the ad will play well. At this point, given the fact
00:18:20.540 that the strategists and the ad makers behind it had not tracked down the documents, had not
00:18:25.780 put everything in a row, I'm skeptical. Because even if the survey data show that it plays well
00:18:32.340 among Ohio voters. The problem is political ads play within a dynamic system. So while they were
00:18:38.700 testing it, it might have played very well with voters. But now you have to view the ad in light
00:18:43.700 of all of the other news coverage that they're going to get, painting Amy Acton pretty legitimately
00:18:48.020 in a very sympathetic light. All of the news coverage, which is already in favor of Amy Acton
00:18:53.580 to begin with. So I am skeptical that this is going to work. This is a very, very high risk
00:18:58.800 play for Vivek's campaign. But then, of course, you have to ask yourself, all right, what about
00:19:04.540 the voters who do have a coherent view of politics? To me, the first thing I thought of
00:19:08.080 when I saw this ad is Willie Horton. Do you remember Willie Horton? Until this ad,
00:19:13.780 Willie Horton was considered the most brutal political campaign ever. And who did it come
00:19:17.340 from? It came from George H.W. Bush, the most mild-mannered, waspy, establishment kind of
00:19:23.660 Republican there was. And this was during the 1988 campaign against Mike Dukakis. And the ad
00:19:29.020 was accused of being race baiting and dog whistling. And it said, hey, here's this black
00:19:33.400 criminal. And Mike Dukakis, when he was governor, he let him out on a furlough. And the guy went out
00:19:37.640 and raped and pillaged and burned and was just this awful guy. So anyway, if you want black
00:19:41.480 criminals going around and marauding through the streets, vote for Mike Dukakis. By the standards
00:19:47.420 of 1988, that was as vicious, as brutal, as down low as it gets. Didn't affect the race.
00:19:54.660 It didn't affect George H.W. Bush's chances in a negative way, I should say. Maybe it did affect
00:19:58.460 the race, but it did not blow back on George H.W. Bush. Now we live in 2026, the era of one
00:20:05.100 major political party defending assassinations, and we live in just a much higher pressure,
00:20:11.860 high-intensity time. So the question is, is this going to blow back on Vivek?
00:20:18.620 Does the ad change your political priorities? Is there anyone who cares deeply about
00:20:23.280 these issues who's going to say, well, you know what? That ad from the Vivek campaign,
00:20:27.860 it was just so nasty. Now I'm going to vote for the woman who wants to trans your kids.
00:20:31.720 Now I'm going to vote for the woman who locked down the state during COVID. I don't think so.
00:20:35.720 So people can view the ad with terrible opprobrium and say it was awful and blow the belt.
00:20:42.220 And they can do all of that.
00:20:43.420 But I don't think for people for whom politics is primarily about issues and the common good,
00:20:48.880 and I don't think that's really going to change their votes.
00:20:52.340 The issue is, what about that 3% of voters who are still kind of on the fence?
00:20:58.680 For them, politics is entirely emotional.
00:21:01.760 and the Acton campaign played this perfectly.
00:21:07.460 They knew it was coming.
00:21:08.820 They were set up for it.
00:21:10.000 They already cut ads about it.
00:21:11.500 They played this perfectly.
00:21:12.480 It does make her look more sympathetic.
00:21:14.580 It does call attention to the fact
00:21:15.940 that she had this horrific childhood.
00:21:17.800 There's no question about that.
00:21:20.200 So is that going to play?
00:21:21.720 The way to analyze the ad is not
00:21:24.280 how does some Beltway policy wonk react to the ad?
00:21:27.080 Yes, they're going to say it's all terrible.
00:21:28.480 what about the three percent of voter three whatever it is that's not a real number but
00:21:33.460 three percent five percent whatever small percentage of ohio voters are still undecided
00:21:37.600 they're going to see an ad of this mother from a severely dysfunctional family that clearly
00:21:43.680 remains dysfunctional to this day and they're going to the mother says my daughter's a liar
00:21:47.660 don't vote for her is that going to be enough to push them over the edge to say okay we're
00:21:51.880 going to vote for the republican or are they going to see the news coverage and say oh this
00:21:57.480 is awful. Amy Acton had such a horrible childhood, and the mother's really terrible. And regardless
00:22:02.380 of policies, regardless of governance, regardless of Amy Acton's current behavior, I'm going to vote
00:22:07.380 for her because I feel badly for her. That's the issue. And regardless, the ad will be a flash
00:22:13.740 point. There's no question. Not even so much as a moral or ethical matter, really more from the
00:22:21.600 advantage of political tactics. The ad makers behind this ad will either be fetted as wicked
00:22:30.060 geniuses or will go down in infamy for this blundering kind of tactic. The real politicos
00:22:38.720 who are watching this, they're kind of writing off the moral issue. Democrats go after Republicans'
00:22:42.900 families all the time, and they make light of all sorts of serious crimes, including murder and rape
00:22:47.260 and all. So politics is a blood sport, and it's just kind of a given. That's a descriptive fact
00:22:51.460 of politics. The question is, will the fact that the ad makers were unprepared for the response,
00:23:00.440 which no one could have predicted. You think you launched that attack, you must be prepared
00:23:03.200 for the response. They weren't. The ad makers' lack of preparedness, the acting campaign's
00:23:09.600 total preparedness, will that really affect the diet? It doesn't affect the issues. It doesn't
00:23:14.560 affect the trajectory of the country. It doesn't affect questions about the common good.
00:23:18.500 It's only about the, essentially, the emotional manipulation of the voters. Who is going to be
00:23:23.660 able to do that in a race that is dead even and it's been dead even for weeks and months?
00:23:29.460 Totally unclear. I offer no prediction whatsoever. Okay, speaking of rough polls, though, there's a
00:23:34.800 tough one from Gallup out about the GOP broadly. We'll get to that in a second. First, though,

00:24:51.840 whether the two major parties' political views are too extreme or generally mainstream, 59% of
00:24:56.880 Americans called the Republican Party too extreme, while 43% labeled the Democratic Party as such.
00:25:03.060 The resulting 16-point gap is by far the largest in Gallup's seven readings since 2000.
00:25:08.600 this is devastating this is absolutely devastating i'm not a doomer i'm not a black pillar i am a
00:25:17.620 tried and true conservative and i'm very hopeful and i generally have a rosy attitude toward life
00:25:23.240 this is a devastating number because it means that republicans have now lost their biggest
00:25:32.420 advantage from 2024. What was the Republicans' biggest advantage in 2024? Was it the immigration
00:25:39.880 issue? No, that was part of it. Was it the bad economy under Biden? Yeah, that was part of it.
00:25:44.920 Was it fumbled foreign policy under Biden? It was part of it, though a little bit less.
00:25:49.660 The biggest Republican advantage was common sense. The common sense issue, which you'd
00:25:55.860 sometimes see come up in the cross tabs of polling. The common sense issue, which no less
00:26:02.200 a political visionary than Antonio Gramsci, the radical leftist, the radical communist,
00:26:06.600 very influential in the development of the American new left. Antonio Gramsci pointed out
00:26:10.840 a revolution can't succeed if a party or if a politician loses the common sense. You have to
00:26:16.080 have the common sense of the people. You have to have a connection to that in order to win.
00:26:20.480 Trump is the king at this. Trump really taps into this feeling of common sense.
00:26:25.800 Other Republicans, a little bit less so. Where you saw this show up in 2024 as an issue
00:26:31.060 was the transgender ideology.
00:26:33.900 The reason the transgender ideology
00:26:36.020 mattered so much in 2024
00:26:37.820 is not because people care
00:26:39.640 all that much about sex stuff,
00:26:40.760 not because there are so many kids
00:26:42.360 who were becoming trans identifying,
00:26:44.780 though the number was increasing.
00:26:46.100 The reason is because it revealed
00:26:48.120 that the Democrats had no common sense.
00:26:50.400 If a Democrat can say that a boy
00:26:51.780 is actually a little girl,
00:26:52.840 that means the Democrat
00:26:53.740 has no judgment whatsoever.
00:26:55.560 And so you can't trust him
00:26:56.480 on any of the issues
00:26:57.080 that we really do care about,
00:26:58.540 like our wallets and our security
00:27:00.360 and our immigration and on and on and on and on and on.
00:27:03.640 The GOP had a lock on common sense.
00:27:06.440 This poll saying that the GOP is too extreme is devastating
00:27:10.800 because the Democrats still believe in amnesty
00:27:13.580 for tens of millions of illegals.
00:27:15.260 The Democrats still believe in an open border
00:27:16.980 that was letting 3 million people in per year
00:27:18.880 until Donald Trump fixed it a year and a half ago.
00:27:21.640 The Democrats still believe in castrating little kids.
00:27:25.420 The Democrats still believe in murdering children
00:27:27.040 up until the moment of birth, if not later.
00:27:30.360 In fact, the Democrats are only getting more extreme on basically all of those issues.
00:27:36.220 So what would impel a voter to say that the GOP has gotten too extreme?
00:27:41.500 Well, it's some of the propaganda around the deportations.
00:27:45.180 Most of us would say the problem with the deportations is there aren't quite enough of them.
00:27:48.960 But some of the propaganda that was set up by the Democrats in Minnesota,
00:27:53.220 which portrayed ICE as the Gestapo, that seems to have worked.
00:27:58.600 the republicans i don't know maybe the iran war kind of disillusioned some people because also
00:28:05.700 because that had inflationary pressures on the economy maybe that has impelled some of this
00:28:10.340 number but regardless it's it's a devastating number the gop two weeks out from the election
00:28:17.220 has lost its chief issue ideological advantage so now what we are coasting on is the connection
00:28:27.280 between President Trump and the voters. That is about it. But otherwise, most of the other GOP
00:28:32.920 politicians, the GOP consultant class, the ad makers, the strategists, they seem to be
00:28:38.360 pretty weak. So let's look at the trans issue specifically because there's an update from my
00:28:42.920 friend Ennis Cantor-Freedom. I was just with Ennis. You can check out our very hard-hitting
00:28:48.320 interview on the Michael Knowles YouTube channel and on the Daily Wire. Ennis wants to join the
00:28:53.440 WNBA. WNBA has come out. They've said, look, we don't support exclusion. If trans-identifying
00:29:00.480 athletes want to play, we're all for openness and inclusion. Here is the coach of The Fever,
00:29:06.320 which is one of the lady basketball teams. Here is the coach just a few weeks ago answering a
00:29:10.500 question about whether the WNBA is going to let men play. What is your stance on men or athletes
00:29:17.000 who test as biological male participating in women's sports? What's your personal stance?
00:29:21.700 Yeah, I mean, I don't know that I would say that I'm educated enough from a scientific standpoint.
00:29:27.680 I don't ever believe that exclusion is an answer.
00:29:30.200 I just don't.
00:29:31.180 I do think, you know, when we think about various levels of sport, various governing bodies of sport and things that go into that,
00:29:40.460 like I said, I'm not educated enough at the different levels.
00:29:44.120 I know growing up, I played with the boys all the time.
00:29:46.900 There are girls sports.
00:29:47.980 Would you welcome a biological male in WNBA?
00:29:51.180 again it's like I don't know when we talk about biological male and
00:29:56.560 scientifically where we are I think it's a totally different scenario you know
00:30:00.920 as I said I'm not educated enough in in terms of change transgender and
00:30:05.740 transitioning to give you to give you a smart answer I would say though that I
00:30:12.700 just don't feel like exclusion is an answer and I think that we had need to
00:30:15.860 have deeper more layered conversations and you'd be okay with them in the
00:30:19.400 Is there any frustration because you guys are in a really fantastic run that this is distracting from that?
00:30:28.400 You know, there is a frustration, of course, because we want to talk about basketball
00:30:32.440 and we want to continue to work on our game and we want to continue to grow as a team.
00:30:38.260 But I also understand, like, this is part of our growth edge as a league, right?
00:30:43.420 It's part of our growth edge as a league.
00:30:45.040 And, you know, we have to be able to manage.
00:30:48.860 We have to be able to insulate as much as we can.
00:30:54.420 And then we have to be able to lead with conversation.
00:30:57.440 Okay, so blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
00:31:00.280 I can't tell you what a man is or what a woman is.
00:31:02.740 Now, this is crucial to the fight, the point that Ennis Cantor Freedom is making,
00:31:06.240 because he says, well, all right, the collective bargaining agreement for the WNBA
00:31:10.380 says that only women can play and not men.
00:31:12.900 All right, well, then what is a woman?
00:31:14.660 It's the Walsh question.
00:31:15.840 What is a woman?
00:31:16.500 What is a man?
00:31:17.060 If I say that I'm a woman, can I play in the league?
00:31:19.200 And the WNBA won't give an answer on this, and the coach of the fever won't give an answer
00:31:23.920 on this, and nobody seems to be able to answer the question.
00:31:27.140 Until yesterday, the WNBA commissioner, Kathy Engelbert, has finally told Republican lawmakers
00:31:32.620 who were really pressing the issue, said, Ennis Cantor Freedom and this other guy, Royce
00:31:38.180 White, are ineligible to play in the league because they are both men.
00:31:42.680 With respect to your questions regarding eligibility, only women are eligible to play in the WNBA
00:31:46.380 and the individuals you cite in your letter are both men. Therefore, they can't play.
00:31:53.180 But of course, this doesn't answer anything. Because in order for the WNBA commissioner to
00:31:59.280 say that Ennis Cantor Freedom, who wants to play, is ineligible to play because he's a man,
00:32:03.520 in order to say that, you have to say what a man is and what a woman is. And if you do that,
00:32:08.600 then you have to set boundaries. Either you have to say trans-identifying players can't be in the
00:32:13.800 league, in which case what the fever lady just said is wrong and you are excluding people,
00:32:18.940 or you have to say that Ennis Cantor Freedom can play in the league, which the commissioner
00:32:23.420 is unwilling to say.
00:32:25.000 So here is Ennis giving his reaction to his rejection from his dream job.
00:32:32.540 You know, Kathy Engelbert cannot clearly define what a woman is, but she's absolutely certain
00:32:40.200 that I'm a man.
00:32:41.560 I mean, how does that make sense?
00:32:43.800 who gets to decide who has the authority to determine whether someone is woman, you know?
00:32:51.740 And the NBA has been dealing with questions about eligibility and gender identity,
00:32:58.580 yet its commissioner has written a letter to members of Congress declaring that I'm a man.
00:33:04.200 So if the league is still working through these questions,
00:33:07.660 How can its commissioner be so certain about my eligibility without explaining the standards that she's applying?
00:33:16.400 So what about the task force?
00:33:18.580 If the task force itself has not reached a clear definition, why is the commissioner making such a definitive statement?
00:33:27.240 Okay, so the real takeaway from all of this, it's delightful.
00:33:30.000 I love that he's doing this.
00:33:31.240 I love that the GOP lawmakers made the WNBA finally answer the question.
00:33:34.760 But the real takeaway from this,
00:33:36.960 I think most people are hearing it
00:33:38.880 and they're trying to get even more in the weeds.
00:33:40.860 Well, no, but hold on.
00:33:41.740 Ha ha, gotcha.
00:33:42.700 Owned with facts and logic.
00:33:44.020 See, because you're not defining woman
00:33:46.140 as someone with two X chromosomes,
00:33:48.320 even though there actually are women
00:33:49.300 who don't simply have two X chromosomes.
00:33:51.580 People with Turner syndrome, for instance,
00:33:54.340 or other kind of genetic anomalies.
00:33:56.180 And okay, but forget about that.
00:33:57.760 Well, you're not defining woman or man as this
00:34:00.360 and boom, boom, boom.
00:34:01.840 A woman is an adult female human being.
00:34:03.940 But even that doesn't, I mean, I've always said, the real answer to the question, what is a woman, is sugar, spice, and everything nice.
00:34:09.560 It actually does comprise gender roles, and it is bigger than biology, and put that aside for a second.
00:34:14.160 The real takeaway is, everybody knows.
00:34:18.560 Everybody knows what a woman is.
00:34:20.760 Everybody knows what a man is.
00:34:23.040 And no one's going to win this fight by pointing to some line from a biology textbook.
00:34:29.840 book. This gets to a fundamental misunderstanding of what politics is about.
00:34:36.700 There are some people in our highly ideological liberal modern age who think that politics is
00:34:42.100 just about facts and logic, and it's not, and it never has been. Certainly, our political order
00:34:48.940 has a dearth of facts and logic at the moment, but even if we were a totally functioning political
00:34:53.600 order, it wouldn't just be about facts and logic. It's also about spirit. It's also about
00:34:59.380 thumos. It's also about the chest. And in addition to that, it's about the appetite.
00:35:04.760 I mean, the whole point of the House of Representatives is to represent the
00:35:07.060 appetitive part of the nation, of what the people desire. In some ages, people desire
00:35:13.480 chocolate ice cream. In some ages, they desire vanilla ice cream. And our constitutional system
00:35:17.540 is built to allow for both of those things. And our constitutional system, after the failure of
00:35:23.220 the Articles of Confederation, meant to give more spirit to the government so that the government
00:35:27.040 could be energetic, to use the word of Alexander Hamilton in the Federalist Papers. And the
00:35:32.000 government needs to have a rational, logical element, which today is probably embodied in
00:35:36.100 the Supreme Court. And so you need to have all of those things. And the controversy over what
00:35:42.260 is a woman or the trans bathrooms or men and women's sports or whatever really comes down to
00:35:47.660 the fact that everybody knows what's going on, but they have other priorities. They want to be
00:35:54.200 inclusive. They want to be liberal. They resent the limitations that come with sex and gender.
00:35:59.160 That includes women. That includes especially feminists who resent those limitations.
00:36:02.380 So they're going to deny them. And pointing out the reality to them is not going to change it.
00:36:07.660 A lot of this actually pertains to the abortion debate. We think that we're going to win the
00:36:12.800 abortion debate by just facts and logic. And in part, that happens. I was convinced when I was
00:36:17.680 a teenager, I was raised in a place where there essentially were not pro-lifers. And so I never
00:36:22.200 saw anything really wrong with abortion. Then I had a conversation one day with a bioethicist
00:36:26.140 and she convinced me I was wrong. And then I became pro-life. So I was convinced through
00:36:31.880 facts and logic. Also, I was convinced maybe through the credibility, the ethos she had,
00:36:37.460 because she was a woman. And I thought to be pro-life, you had to hate women, but here was
00:36:40.680 a woman tell you. So actually, there was even more than facts and logic to my own conversion
00:36:44.300 many, many years ago on the issue of pro-life. But I think for a lot of women who are going
00:36:49.340 out there with the signs, my body, my choice, shout your abortion, for a lot of them, I don't
00:36:53.920 think it's about a misconception of just getting the facts wrong. I think it's because they feel
00:36:58.000 guilty because they killed their kids or they know someone who killed their kids. So you have
00:37:01.520 to speak to them in a different way. On this point, we need to keep up the fight for Ennis
00:37:06.900 canter freedom to fulfill his dream job. But recognize you're not just going to win it by
00:37:11.840 saying, boom, it's two X chromosomes owned lib. The libs are going to look at you and say, yeah,
00:37:17.520 okay, whatever. And they're going to babble a bunch of nonsense like the WNBA commissioner,
00:37:21.860 and it's not going to make any sense, but it won't matter because they're just going to exercise
00:37:24.240 power in accordance with their desires. Okay. Now, speaking of aberrant sexual perspectives,
00:37:30.760 I have to get to the evolution of President Trump's new favorite comedy bit,
00:37:34.440 talking about the derriere of Senate candidates.
00:37:37.260 First, though, I want to tell you about GOP Votes.
00:37:39.120 The Democratic Socialists of America
00:37:40.580 won primaries across the country.
00:37:41.960 Next, they're coming for Congress
00:37:43.360 and they're coming for you.
00:37:44.420 If they win the midterms,
00:37:45.440 they will defund the police,
00:37:46.520 reopen our border,
00:37:47.280 enforce men and women's sports.
00:37:48.580 You are the last line of defense
00:37:49.920 and gopvotes.org is your partner in the fight.
00:37:52.840 Go to gopvotes.org right now.
00:37:55.200 Make a plan to vote early.
00:37:56.240 If you live in the critical Senate battleground states
00:37:58.480 of Alaska, Michigan, Maine, Ohio, Iowa, or Texas,
00:38:03.560 Early voting is already underway this week.
00:38:06.000 Democrats are energized.
00:38:07.260 The stakes have never been higher.
00:38:08.800 We cannot afford to have people like AOC
00:38:10.620 and her communist cronies running the show.
00:38:12.780 That is why I need you to make a plan
00:38:15.040 to vote early right now.
00:38:16.220 Go to gopvotes.org to find your polling location,
00:38:18.520 vote early, and stop the socialist takeover of America,
00:38:21.820 paid for by SLF PAC,
00:38:23.460 not authorized by any candidate or candidates committee.
00:38:26.980 My favorite comment yesterday
00:38:27.900 is from Elijah Wynn, Doroth Kruthos, who says,
00:38:30.740 since I'm a Christian and have been born again, can I get a Trump account and a share from SpaceX?
00:38:36.380 Good question. Good question. The problem is that that kingdom to which you refer is not of this
00:38:42.640 world. So the money that you are getting from the Trump accounts and SpaceX, which is important to
00:38:48.240 the maintenance of our bodies, that is the kind of money that is rendered unto Caesar and not exactly
00:38:54.100 the money that is rendered unto God. So look, I'd love it. I got kids that were born before the
00:38:59.500 Trump accounts came out. I want their Trump account. I want my Trump account. Probably
00:39:05.920 not going to happen. And if the Democrats retake the government, it's definitely not going to
00:39:10.100 happen. Hey, can Christians get any political favors at all? No? Oh, we go to the gulags? Okay,
00:39:15.320 that's fine. President Trump on the campaign trail. We've covered it now twice. Here we go.
00:39:20.200 Here's the third time. Here's a punchline. President Trump keeps making headlines for
00:39:24.080 talking about the physique of a male Senate candidate. And I'm studying his body. I've
00:39:33.000 never studied the body of a man before. It's not my thing. Nothing wrong with it, of course.
00:39:38.960 Nothing. I always proceeded by saying nothing wrong, but it's never been my thing,
00:39:44.200 to be honest with you. But I looked at his ass.
00:39:48.120 and then i looked at his legs and it might i said his ass is like it's like a pile of muscle
00:39:58.760 then i looked at his legs and i said man his feet are big then i looked at his shoulders and i
00:40:06.080 tapped him on the shoulder and it actually hurt my hand it was like a piece of steel
00:40:12.840 He said, this guy's a monster.
00:40:14.360 And John Gooden told me that he was a violent tackler or this, that.
00:40:19.800 But he never talked about it.
00:40:20.940 He was an all-American football player.
00:40:22.980 And by the time I finished with that story, he went from being 10 points down to being
00:40:27.960 two points today.
00:40:29.700 A poll came out.
00:40:30.440 He's two points up.
00:40:33.340 I love the bit.
00:40:34.900 So he's now done this multiple times.
00:40:36.760 He knows the reaction it's going to get.
00:40:37.840 But it's getting even more elaborate.
00:40:40.720 this is when trump comes out there he does the lead up because i was standing there
00:40:45.080 and i you know i'm looking at a man and i don't usually look at men nothing wrong with that
00:40:50.900 even there even that there's nothing wrong with it it's like the old jerry seinfeld bit
00:40:55.540 you know not that there's anything wrong with that not that there's anything wrong with
00:40:58.380 homosexuality but even there he's he laughs about it as if to say well there's probably
00:41:02.360 something a little wrong with it but and look nothing i'm not saying there's anything wrong
00:41:05.220 with it but he's doing the lead up this is like paul mccartney's on stage and you get the bass
00:41:10.200 starts playing and the drums start going a little bit, you get a little bit. And then
00:41:14.560 when Trump goes, so I examined his ass, that's the moment when McCartney leans, he goes,
00:41:21.440 hey, Jude. And then the crowd goes crazy. They know it's coming. They've come to expect it.
00:41:26.820 It's now one of his hits. And then he builds it up instead of, you know, and he's got his
00:41:31.320 shoulder was really strong. Now he goes, I tapped his shoulder and hurt my hand.
00:41:35.160 And he knows it because it's working, because the numbers keep going up. So I love it. Trump
00:41:40.380 just is a consummate showman. His connection to the audience is perfect. He has the feel of a
00:41:44.600 stand-up comedian, a very, very good stand-up comedian. He is totally plugged in to the appetite
00:41:49.920 and the ethos of the country. Love that. And into the logos for that matter, because he represented
00:41:55.480 the common sense kind of candidate. The rest of the GOP might not have that. And right now,
00:42:02.380 the polls, it's astounding. I mean, the polls are essentially a dead heat everywhere. There is a
00:42:07.820 world in which the Republicans hold the Senate and don't lose that much in the House. That is
00:42:12.140 possible. But because all of these races are teetering, and because you're getting these
00:42:16.580 massive Hail Mary kind of plays, like you're seeing in Ohio right now, it could tilt in any
00:42:24.440 direction. The margin between the two candidates in all these places is smaller than the margin
00:42:30.280 of error. This could be, it could be a wipeout or it could be nothing. There have been plenty of
00:42:35.860 times when we were expecting the big red wave, 2022, we're expecting the big red wave and it
00:42:41.180 just didn't totally happen. And you could see that playing out here, but you basically have
00:42:46.460 this one man, Trump, who is like doing a thousand rallies a day, not sleeping, hitting great comedy
00:42:53.700 routines, still has the connection to the voters. The rest of the GOP though, does not quite have
00:42:58.840 And so then looking ahead to 2028, you say, yikes, when you remove the big, the giant magnet
00:43:05.680 from the assemblage of all the little magnet filament, what's going to happen? You're going
00:43:10.780 to get total chaos. So let's turn from the president to the vice president. I mentioned
00:43:16.060 this yesterday. We didn't have time to get to it. We'll get to a little bit today.
00:43:18.680 Vice President J.D. Vance sitting down does a town hall with CBS where every topic is open.
00:43:25.660 he wants everything out there on the table first big question comes up about anti-semitism
00:43:32.940 will you publicly confront influential people like tucker carlson in your own coalition
00:43:38.700 who continue to spread anti-semitic rhetoric that has put a target on my children's back
00:43:45.420 so eddie first of all you're to be clear your five and three-year-old are okay okay is a
00:43:51.580 relative term are they here with us absolutely thank you my daughter still it allowed bang
00:43:58.940 dropped to the floor in coverage protection and cry allowed noises and tries to understand
00:44:05.820 what she's experienced not okay from that perspective and i'm very very sorry about that
00:44:12.140 and i will say i've met with the leadership of the temple there and i've met with some of the
00:44:16.220 security guards who frankly prevented what would have been one of the worst terrorist attacks in
00:44:20.460 the history of the United States of America, but for their bravery. And God bless them. Thank God
00:44:24.660 for him. And thank God for you and your family that you're okay. Here's what I'll say. I condemn
00:44:30.200 anti-Semitism. I condemn Jew hatred. I condemn anybody who would judge another human being
00:44:37.220 based on who their mother or father were, what their ethnicity was, what their religion is.
00:44:42.200 And I think that leadership, that fundamental leadership principle has to start there,
00:44:46.680 that we can condemn this unequivocally?
00:44:49.840 Okay, so good answer.
00:44:51.100 I'm glad.
00:44:51.720 You know, I too am concerned
00:44:52.820 about the rise in anti-Semitism.
00:44:54.220 Mostly it's on the left,
00:44:55.580 but it crops up on the right too.
00:44:57.400 It bothers me greatly.
00:44:58.540 And so a great answer, you know,
00:45:00.380 fair question, good answer
00:45:01.460 from the vice president.
00:45:02.560 But of course, people are still attacking
00:45:03.860 the vice president because they say,
00:45:05.200 well, you won't condemn Tucker Carlson.
00:45:08.200 You won't go after, you know,
00:45:09.780 this cable news host who you're friends with,
00:45:12.660 who's now got this podcast.
00:45:14.400 and you won't go after him by name.
00:45:18.020 And it's become a big question among Republican strategists,
00:45:22.220 the conservative chattering class to say,
00:45:23.800 should the vice president go after Tucker Carlson
00:45:27.780 and make a big spectacle out of that
00:45:30.120 and make a big spectacle out of denouncing him?
00:45:32.500 My read on it is it wouldn't do much good for anyone.
00:45:36.460 What good would come out of that?
00:45:38.540 Do you think that Vance's critics,
00:45:40.600 who, in my mind, preposterously are accusing him of anti-Semitism or whatever.
00:45:46.520 Do you think that's going to satisfy them?
00:45:48.620 I don't think that would satisfy them.
00:45:50.340 I'd say, well, it took him too long to do it,
00:45:52.160 and he didn't use the words that I wanted him to use.
00:45:54.120 So I don't think that would work.
00:45:55.900 I think a lot of the attacks on J.D. Vance are probably just opportunistic
00:45:59.980 because he's the leading contender for 2028,
00:46:02.620 and so people are going to hit him any which way.
00:46:04.880 Getting back to what we were talking about at the top of the show,
00:46:06.500 politics is a blood sport.
00:46:07.880 So I don't think that would do a ton of good,
00:46:10.600 I don't think any serious person thinks that J.D. Vance is an anti-Semite.
00:46:16.320 I don't think he's got a lot of very prominent Jews around him who have worked for him,
00:46:25.200 or he's got a relatively good relationship with the state of Israel.
00:46:29.340 And there's just no evidence of it.
00:46:31.300 It's just totally ridiculous.
00:46:33.120 So I don't think any serious person thinks that J.D. Vance is an anti-Semite.
00:46:36.700 a denunciation therefore would neither settle the issue among the people who are persuadable
00:46:44.200 nor would it appease the people who hate jd vance and are just going to attack him because they
00:46:50.060 don't like the cut of his jib so i don't really see if if i'm wrong if some i'm open to being
00:46:55.440 persuaded but can someone make the case to me that jd vance going out not just saying i hate
00:47:01.520 jew hatred i'm deeply concerned about that i have a very strong record proving i'm not an anti-semite
00:47:06.680 of any sort. But he needs to go after Tucker Carlson. If someone can make the case to me
00:47:14.880 that that would do any good, I'm open to hearing it. I just haven't heard it. So I think the way
00:47:20.380 he handled this question was really good. He doesn't mince any words about the actual
00:47:25.160 substantive issue that people are concerned about, but he doesn't get into this game of
00:47:29.120 guilt by association and the struggle sessions and the denunciations of everybody. I thought
00:47:35.340 was a good answer. Then he was asked a question by an immigrant on the administration's anti-immigrant
00:47:41.840 rhetoric. My goal here is not to dehumanize any immigrant. In fact, I love a number of immigrants.
00:47:49.560 My goal here is to make it so that we can have a country with some baseline of social cohesion
00:47:57.560 and sense of community. Because what happens when too many people come to the United States,
00:48:02.440 even if they're very good people, Sister Nancy, when too many people come to the United States
00:48:06.420 too quickly, it changes the country in very profound ways. I have neighbors, I have friends
00:48:12.380 of mine who literally don't know a single person in their neighborhood who speaks the language they
00:48:19.000 do. Now, that's not a criticism of anybody, but I don't think it's unreasonable for an American
00:48:24.180 citizen to want to share their community with people they have something in common with. And
00:48:28.840 I think our immigration system has to build that. It has to obviously be charitable to people.
00:48:34.240 It has to welcome people who are going to contribute to the country. But it also has
00:48:38.060 to not do it so quickly that we fundamentally transform the country in a bad way.
00:48:42.280 Love this answer. I love this answer for two reasons. One, he's actually not going after
00:48:50.820 the immigrants themselves. This is weirdly the most charitable read, even though J.D. Vance
00:48:57.040 would be considered much more of an immigration restrictionist than many Republicans. He's
00:49:01.800 actually much less hostile to the immigrants. He says, look, it's not really about the immigrants
00:49:04.980 themselves. It's just if you flood the country with a ton of foreign people, even if they come
00:49:09.380 legally, it's going to change the demographics. You're not going to hear the same language in
00:49:14.400 your town anymore. You're not going to have the same customs. You're not going to have social
00:49:17.180 cohesion. It's going to create a lot of social problems, and it's going to erode trust in the
00:49:21.260 government. And so that's one reason that when you have the highest percentage foreign-born ever
00:49:25.820 in American history, you got to work to restrict that a little bit. Not because we hate brown
00:49:30.520 people, not because we think that some peoples are just irredeemably backward or something.
00:49:38.100 It's just because we're a nation and nations have to cohere and the American people have a right to
00:49:44.740 determine who comes in and out. So that's the first reason is it's actually much more charitable
00:49:48.560 in how he's talking about immigration, even as he's being more restrictive about it.
00:49:52.640 Two, he's not just talking about illegal immigration, which that was the GOP line.
00:49:58.580 The furthest you could go on immigration in the GOP until very, very recently was,
00:50:04.100 we need to stop illegal immigration, but we want more legal immigration.
00:50:08.060 That was the furthest right view you could have.
00:50:12.460 Illegal immigration is bad, but legal immigration is good.
00:50:14.920 We all agree we want more immigrants.
00:50:16.780 But that's not true.
00:50:17.960 I don't want more immigrants to come here.
00:50:19.340 Not because I hate brown people or any other kind of people, but because we are a nation and nations are a people and you can't just flood the country with foreign people and expect your country to remain stable and flourishing.
00:50:33.160 It just can't happen.
00:50:34.100 We've known this since, I don't know, Aristotle, Plato, Cicero, like a pretty long time.
00:50:39.580 So on the one hand, Vance is being very charitable.
00:50:43.240 I think that's a very reasonable argument that plenty of centrist voters could hear and be persuaded by.
00:50:47.520 But also, it's forward thinking. He's moving the window on immigration in a way that I think is reflective of what a lot of people are feeling with the changing political circumstances. I think it's forward looking. That's a very, very good answer.
00:51:01.960 Now, who knows if that'll matter?
00:51:03.540 Because if the GOP tanks in its popularity with the American people,
00:51:07.280 if we lose the common sense, we've got our friends over here at Calshi
00:51:09.920 already got markets open on the 2028 presidential race exact outcome.
00:51:14.760 And right now, the most likely, according to Calshi,
00:51:18.520 now it's down at 10%, you know, it's obviously silly season this far out.
00:51:23.020 But they say the most likely thing is AOC defeats J.D. Vance.
00:51:27.520 So given where the GOP is right now, there are two predictions here.
00:51:32.700 One is AOC is the Democrat nominee.
00:51:35.820 JD is the Republican nominee.
00:51:37.800 And that's one prediction.
00:51:39.140 And then the second prediction is that the Democrats are going to beat the Republicans.
00:51:42.720 So we've got to make sure that doesn't happen.
00:51:44.700 That race starts this week and next week.
00:51:47.260 You have to make sure that you get out there.
00:51:52.060 You take politics seriously.
00:51:54.180 It's not just about emotion.
00:51:55.920 It's not just about disillusionment.
00:51:58.060 It's not just about your own personal feelings
00:52:00.940 of elation or disappointment,
00:52:02.120 but it's really about the common good.
00:52:04.080 That's what politics is for.
00:52:05.020 That's why we have the vote.
00:52:06.580 That was the argument for expanding the franchise
00:52:08.720 throughout the course of American history.
00:52:10.020 It was much more restricted
00:52:10.820 at the early parts of American history.
00:52:13.560 There's this idea that's cropped up
00:52:16.040 in the last 20, 30 years
00:52:17.520 that voting is a good per se,
00:52:21.460 that it's just good to vote.
00:52:22.620 You remember this even,
00:52:23.440 it was like vote or die back in 25 years.
00:52:25.440 ago, P. Diddy. P. Diddy, the spokesman of the left-wing get-out-the-vote effort. It's totally
00:52:33.140 fitting. We should have known everything from that. P. Diddy comes in and says, it doesn't
00:52:36.060 matter who you vote for, you just have to go vote. And that's, of course, ridiculous.
00:52:39.660 Voting in itself is totally meaningless. It can be good, it can be bad, but it doesn't have any
00:52:45.520 intrinsic quality of goodness or badness. The vote is instrumental toward good government.
00:52:52.160 That's what it's for good government, which is itself instrumental for the care of the common good
00:52:58.540 That's what you have to think about
00:53:00.480 Is your country going to be better?
00:53:03.460 If you vote for the republican
00:53:04.900 Or the democrat in every little congressional race every governor race every senate race
00:53:08.920 Is it going to be better for the country as such?
00:53:12.680 If the republican wins or the democrat wins not I don't like this candidate because he said something
00:53:17.320 I don't like not I didn't like I didn't like this campaign ad not
00:53:20.540 not I don't like the guy's name, not I don't like the gas prices went up a little bit.
00:53:25.960 Is the country going to be better with the party that I still think is relatively normal
00:53:32.680 or the party that wants to chop off your kids' genitals and murder all of the babies and flood
00:53:37.520 the country with foreigners and imprison all of us? That's the question for you. I think you know
