00:00:00.000 I want people to get to a place of I choose to only eat meat, not I can only eat meat.
00:00:04.860 My real thing is if you heal with this, you can help so many people heal that don't realize
00:00:10.780 they're sick. And that's like part of the reason I'm still looking and have been looking is because
00:00:15.160 there's so many people that follow me and I'm like, the idea with the diet is you use this
00:00:20.420 and then you reintroduce foods. And there's so many people who can't read, especially people
00:00:25.060 gravity towards a lion diet those are the people that do that diet that can't reintroduce foods
00:00:31.280 and it's like well something's obviously wrong you should be able to
00:00:35.080 judy cho welcome to my podcast thank you for having me i'm very excited about this episode
00:00:46.880 i've been wanting to talk to you for a while i got your book the carnivore cure when it came out
00:00:52.840 and it's probably the only book that i've read that made sense to me and they didn't have any
00:00:58.900 like carnivore ideology in it it's like people are only you know i mean i like i i agree that
00:01:05.640 people should be focused on an animal-based diet and that's how people should eat but it wasn't
00:01:10.100 like people are carnivores and we should be eating this way and it was just focused on healing and
00:01:16.260 health right and so i've been wanting to get you on the podcast for a while because you're one of
00:01:20.540 the only people I follow in the carnivore community that I think is focused on healing
00:01:25.860 and finding root causes and not, not like ideological at all. So thank you. Yeah. So
00:01:34.080 I guess before we get started, can you give a brief background about who you are and what it
00:01:38.040 is you do? Sure. So I'm Judy Cho, also known as Nutrition with Judy. I am board certified in
00:01:44.040 holistic nutrition. My journey with carnivore really started because I got sick. I was a
00:01:49.720 management consultant for 12 years, plant-based for 12 years as well. And then all of a sudden,
00:01:54.180 I was struggling with depression. I got on antidepressants and eventually got on antipsychotics
00:02:00.800 for getting really, really sick. And never once did anyone say that my plant-based diet was not
00:02:07.260 ideal for me. So I basically had a breakdown and my oldest son was six months old. Something
00:02:15.780 happened. I took antibiotics. I don't really know what the mechanistic reason was. I landed in the
00:02:20.860 mental hospital because I was just acting off and they put, they got me on antipsychotics,
00:02:27.980 antidepressants. And again, they never figured out what was wrong. They just said, I think she's
00:02:32.200 suffering from bulimia and an eating disorder, and then maybe postpartum depression, even though
00:02:38.640 six months after having a baby. And so they said she should go to an eating disorder facility. So
00:02:44.760 I listened, I did all the things they recommended because I just wanted a normal life and to
00:02:49.880 have my son back. And so I went, my son stayed with my parents in Los Angeles. And then I went
00:02:57.520 back to Austin, Texas, checked myself into an eating disorder facility. They taught me lots of
00:03:03.340 good mental health supports, finding the purpose of like, what's, what drives me and things like
00:03:09.780 that. But the diet was still very, very standard American diet, they would give us microwave pizzas
00:03:15.660 and such and said, if you feel triggered, you're still disordered. And I found the keto diet,
00:03:22.400 I found the carnivore diet. And basically, essentially, until I found carnivore, and I
00:03:27.280 was so desperate, because I was so sick, I never fully healed. I once I hit carnivore, I was able
00:03:33.780 to get off all my meds. I don't have a day of depression. I've been carnivore for over five
00:03:37.780 years now. And, and then I realized that our diet and our recommendations was so wrong. And I'm such
00:03:43.440 an inquisitive person that I needed to figure out why. And so when I was on medical disability for
00:03:48.960 my mental illness and breakdown, I just started researching all this stuff about food and
00:03:54.340 nutrition and biochemistry. And I got mad. And so I, I got, I quit my job. I went back to nutritional
00:04:01.360 therapy school and, and then I just started advocating. I learned so much about how to make
00:04:06.180 presentations for CEOs and making a case. And that's what I now do for a carnivore diet. And
00:04:13.680 it's not just about this is dogma. This is, you know, we're a bro science or bro diet. I don't
00:04:18.440 believe in that. It's just, I want people to heal. And if I need to prove the science to you so that
00:04:23.280 you can heal using this diet, then by all means, I will do that. Hey guys, if you enjoy a few
00:04:30.020 glasses of wine once a week or a drink at any point in your life, in any amount, you need to
00:04:35.640 try the supplement I launched, After Party. It helps you break down acetaldehyde, which is the
00:04:41.500 toxin that alcohol, ethanol, converts into in your body when you drink that poisons you and leads to
00:04:47.480 alcohol damage. The supplement is made of dihydromyricotin, which is a terrible name for a
00:04:53.180 supplement, which is why we called it After Party, which also works weekly on GABA, so it can help
00:04:58.860 with anxiety following drinking as well if that's something that bugs you. Obviously don't abuse
00:05:03.460 alcohol but if you're into biohacking and you don't have a hangover pill you're doing it wrong
00:05:08.260 you could say you're doing biohacking wrong if you drink anything but hey life is life sometimes
00:05:13.780 people want to have a few drinks smartdrugs.life code mp for 15% off and you can try it for 30
00:05:21.060 days completely risk-free because we'll give you your money back if you don't want it obviously
00:05:25.840 there's no point in getting wasted so don't do that but there's also no point in drinking any
00:05:31.700 amount without helping your body break down acetaldehyde. So try it out, smartdrugs.life,
00:05:38.580 code MP for 15% off. I hope you enjoy the rest of this episode.
00:05:43.440 That's brutal. Did you have a hard time getting off of the medications you were on?
00:05:49.340 I honestly lost my memory, so I have no idea. Yeah, it was really, I mean, I get really emotional
00:05:56.420 still thinking about it. Um, I was breastfeeding and, and then I was in the medical or the mental
00:06:02.900 hospital and I was on a mandatory hold, meaning that they thought they determined I was a harm
00:06:09.100 to myself. And so I was on a lockdown for 72 hours. And so I was forced to stop nursing and
00:06:14.400 the class C drugs of the, yeah. So the class C drugs, um, you're not allowed to nurse. I didn't
00:06:21.080 know any of this. So, but my memory would be, and I would hear from my best friend that would come
00:06:25.900 visit me I'd ask where's Caleb and I need a nurse him and they would have to keep going through and
00:06:32.500 telling me you'd no longer nurse and then I would ask why and then I would start crying and not
00:06:38.520 knowing that I'm going through the same thing for three days in a row and then and I was plant-based
00:06:44.020 then so that my husband didn't know what to do so started my child on soy milk breast milk or
00:06:49.920 uh formula and it was just a hard process for all of us and it's um i i don't know
00:06:57.360 the medication it didn't really work for me at least the antidepressant side of it i was on
00:07:02.480 i listened to them for the next three months i um i took the full dose and then it wasn't working
00:07:08.160 enough that i went on 300 milligrams which is the highest dose back then for that specific ssri and
00:07:14.320 and it wasn't working enough. And that's when they recommended the antipsychotic to add to it,
00:07:20.800 but it was starting to make me gain weight and suffering from an eating disorder. I was not okay
00:07:24.760 with that. So it was just this constant back and forth of struggling with mental illness,
00:07:29.580 but I didn't feel any after effects of getting off it because I, one, I lost my memory when I did
00:07:35.980 the antipsychotics, but then it just didn't work for me as well. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Well,
00:07:43.260 that's awful that is awful it's no wonder you still get emotional talking about that i still
00:07:47.840 get emotional talking about like bad things like that because it's so bad it's hard to describe
00:07:53.040 how bad that is so i can understand why you've gone in the direction you've gone in trying to
00:07:58.660 make people better and teach people about the carnivore diet yeah yeah yeah crazy um but what
00:08:05.060 i wanted to i i mean i have a bunch of questions for you that i think will help people who are new
00:08:10.100 of the diet. And then I have a bunch of questions that I'm just curious about because I, as you
00:08:15.380 know, I've been on the carnivore diet, specifically like lion diet or ruminant meat for five years.
00:08:22.360 And my assumption getting onto the diet was once I became asymptomatic was I'll slowly be able to
00:08:29.820 reintroduce foods, right? Like there's some sort of gut healing that takes place and I will slowly
00:08:35.180 be able to reintroduce foods, but that hasn't happened for me. And I've tried a number of
00:08:39.720 different times and i can't do it so i still have crazy inflammatory responses now they're not
00:08:45.140 like like before diet or when i first started they were so bad that like it would cripple me
00:08:51.100 for like a month and now it's not like that like um so in that way it's gotten better but there's
00:08:58.980 still something missing yes and recently like um about two years ago i think i i realized i had
00:09:05.680 histamine intolerance and i didn't know what that was before i figured out what that was
00:09:10.300 and recently i started taking this enzyme um which has made an insane insane difference and my mom
00:09:18.180 was the person who actually found it and it's the dao enzyme and i was like scared of taking it
00:09:23.540 because it's derived from porcine kidney and i can't eat pork okay so i was like no i'm not taking
00:09:28.700 any supplements but i started taking this enzyme and it now i can eat you know kind of aged meat
00:09:35.540 without having any digestive upset or anything so that's huge and so now i'm thinking i'm i just
00:09:44.260 feel like there's something i'm missing whether it's like a probiotic i can tolerate or enzymes
00:09:50.100 that i'm missing or something to reduce the inflammatory response yeah and then i heard you
00:09:57.580 talk about sirs so i kind of brought you on to talk about that yeah yeah so just to give you
00:10:02.960 context of the people I work with, we have a private practice. We focus on root cause healing.
00:10:08.100 We use the carnivore cures, all meat elimination diet, similar to the lion diet when you start at
00:10:12.860 baseline. And what we found over the years is that carnivore doesn't fix everything. So I thought,
00:10:19.320 because I suffered from such bad mental illness, eating disorders, and all of that has resolved.
00:10:23.980 So I thought carnivore was everything. And I also focus on gut health, where if you
00:10:28.000 fix your mucosal lining, you'll, you'll strengthen the barriers and lots of other things. And you can
00:10:32.800 do the probiotics and sure i've met many of my clients patients that cannot tolerate probiotics
00:10:38.120 for various reasons over the years every single one of my client patients have challenged me to
00:10:44.340 think otherwise so i used to think liver was the best thing to add if you're nutrient deficient
00:10:48.720 or if you're anorexic it's not always the case and so then i realized that carnivore doesn't fix
00:10:53.920 everyone it does a lot of improvement because it's essentially reducing your overall inflammation
00:10:59.480 especially when it comes to foods that your body is intolerant to but i think if i were to explain
00:11:07.480 sirs um there is a genetic component to it where basically 20 to 25 percent of the population so
00:11:15.600 it's about 40 million plus people have a different genetic wiring or code from their parents um it's
00:11:23.160 on chromosome six. It's called the HLA. And that number based on your genetics, again, will
00:11:29.620 affect how your immune responses to the outside world, whether it's food, whether it's the
00:11:35.460 environment. And what I'm finding is, I think in the carnivore community, think about how
00:11:40.900 restrictive in a sense carnivore is, right? It's you can only eat meat. And even if you wanted to
00:11:45.460 go to a party and eat something else, you may not be able to tolerate it. That's the people I work
00:11:49.540 with. I work with the six people in the carnivore community. And what I found is when we do the
00:11:55.400 SERS testing, a lot of these people have this susceptibility and then it's activated by the
00:12:00.980 immune system. And I think in the carnivore community, when you have eaten all meat for
00:12:06.580 six months to a year, and the needle has not moved enough to optimal health healing. If you choose to
00:12:13.240 add other things, you can't add it back. That to me then means that carnivore is becoming a bandaid.
00:12:18.700 it's optimal diet but still there's something else and that's when i think people should start
00:12:24.100 looking at environmental toxins and one of them is related to sirs okay okay um but does sirs so
00:12:32.840 so what is what is sirs and and what can trigger it yeah so sirs is a chronic inflammatory response
00:12:39.540 syndrome and so of that 20 of the population what happens is we have two basics we have two sides to
00:12:46.280 immune system. One is the innate immune side and the one is the adaptive. And just to make it super
00:12:52.220 simple, the innate is just the initial immune response. It's like the more basic immune function,
00:12:58.600 the macrophages, just really simple things. And when the foreigner, the invader is just less than
00:13:05.080 I, it's a lot more complicated. The innate side will then release antigens or communications to
00:13:11.000 the adaptive side of saying hey t cells b cells memory cells i need you to come in and remove this
00:13:17.280 toxin because we can't handle it so the way that it does that is releasing cytokines it releases
00:13:22.060 all these immune things to communicate and then normally the adaptive side will come in and remove
00:13:28.820 it that 25 20 to 25 percent of the population cannot do the trade-off so what ends up happening
00:13:35.800 is the innate side gets super inflamed and is saying hey hey there's this foreigner or invader
00:13:41.560 in our system and i need it to be removed and this side has no idea and we'll never know and so what
00:13:47.800 happens is we get exposed to these biotoxins it could be water damaged buildings it could be a
00:13:53.400 recluse spider bite it could be lime lots of things that are natural toxins in our environment
00:14:00.680 and it gets into our system and the 20% of the population does not recognize to remove it,
00:14:07.100 even though the innate side sees it. And so what ends up happening is over time,
00:14:11.460 it is not the actual mold itself or the Lyme itself. It's the inflammatory response has gone
00:14:18.260 awry and that's the illness. That is the illness. And so what we're trying to do over time with
00:14:23.740 SIRS is essentially we're trying to quell that immune response. We're actually, you can take
00:14:28.880 some binders and it the binder is very specific but if you take a certain binder it will actually
00:14:34.520 pull those toxins that are in your system that your other side of your immune system was was
00:14:40.180 not able to remove and then you can start to find healing okay okay that's cool so this isn't just
00:14:47.400 caused by mold this could be caused it could be caused by a virus too or a bacterial infection
00:14:52.720 initially any type of toxin it's mostly from water damaged buildings and water damaged buildings can
00:14:58.600 have, um, endotoxins, biotoxins, um, actinomyces. It's just a variety of living things that they
00:15:06.060 could be dead to, but, um, essentially you will, it'll trigger that immune response. So I have
00:15:12.860 seen people with long COVID. I think they're honestly suffering from SIRS. It's just their
00:15:17.820 immune system is not able to now turn off that level of inflammation because again, the other
00:15:24.420 side is not able to recognize it and shut it off okay so my um because i've gone i've done like a
00:15:33.440 deep dive into mold i did that a while ago and i know i had mold exposure when i was about eight
00:15:40.080 but my symptoms started when i was two i don't know what happened then so i've always thought it
00:15:44.560 was viral which is a you know but i mean but i mean if something provokes the immune system and
00:15:52.040 the immune system overreacts to everything it wouldn't really matter what the cause was right
00:15:55.880 yeah the the thing so there are a lot of children that show or present sursy symptoms and it's very
00:16:02.600 very um light thing so if your parents and maybe you if you have the genetic thing you obviously
00:16:10.360 one of your parents has it if not both if they give you like double whammy of the genes your
00:16:16.440 chance of being affected is higher so there are kids um that that have the hla and then they will
00:16:24.200 present even at a young age one of the biggest symptoms is when your child is born if they're
00:16:28.940 having gertie issues so like they drink a lot of breast milk or formula and they're always throwing
00:16:33.940 up so they can't tolerate anything and then when they're in like elementary school these symptoms
00:16:38.660 are they they get headaches frequently or stomach aches or they're tired more than the average child
00:16:44.840 These are the small symptoms. And then it's just over time, if the bucket, your toxin bucket load
00:16:50.400 gets filled and now it starts overflowing, that's when the symptomology becomes really present and
00:16:56.100 you will start feeling what they call it a multi-system, multi-symptom. So it affects
00:17:00.460 many of your systems in your body and then it has multiple symptoms. So where I think SIRS gets
00:17:07.480 really confusing for people is um there's a whole process process and cascade that occurs and it
00:17:15.000 starts affecting your adrenal function your um androgens or your hormones uh your sleep your
00:17:20.240 pain and so people start getting misdiagnosed for so many different things and people say oh it's
00:17:25.720 fibromyalgia oh you have chronic fatigue syndrome um and the question should always be why why did
00:17:31.040 that happen? What is going on? And I just saw a number, a statistic where if you get a second
00:17:37.600 diagnosis, 80% is usually different. And this study was done by Mayo Clinic. So how do you
00:17:43.140 know that the diagnosis you got is correct? Yeah. Okay. That's very interesting. So then
00:17:51.360 what do you do? How do you test for it? And is this test just in kind of the integrative medicine
00:17:58.760 area? Or is this also more mainstream? So the in 2008, I believe the US GAO accepted that
00:18:07.380 SIRS is an illness that mold in your homes from water damage buildings can make you sick. So it
00:18:15.300 is accepted. I believe that when the community at large or the medical industry at large accepts
00:18:23.200 mold as a true illness, then the hospitals, this is the only peer-reviewed evidence-based
00:18:29.520 protocol that has over 25 papers written on it. I think it will be the one that's adopted. I know
00:18:36.100 that there are so many mold protocols online and it's not getting to the root cause. The root cause
00:18:41.260 is the chronic inflammation. It is that lots of things have happened, the cytokines releasing
00:18:47.160 and affecting leptin. And then leptin receptors are releasing lots of leptin and causing some
00:18:53.380 people to be overweight, but it's because they're trying to release a hormone called melanocyte
00:18:57.680 stimulating hormone. And what ends up happening is it gets blocked from being produced. And that
00:19:03.640 it's that MSH that then affects all the different downstream symptoms. When we get sick from this
00:19:11.220 illness, we produce a lot of cortisol and that affects our brain. Initially, our brain will
00:19:16.180 become I guess it has a lot more excess cortisol in the hippocampus then it affects our hypothalamus
00:19:23.960 and then it affects our pituitary and at first the again that innate immune system is trying to tell
00:19:30.680 the adaptive side there's a fire we need to resolve this and cortisol is obviously that
00:19:35.880 stress response nothing happens and over time the brain says we need to shut down we have so much
00:19:41.120 saturation of cortisol in the hippocampus. And when that shutdown happens, then the other parts
00:19:47.460 of the brain start also saying we need to shut down to protect this body from dying. And when
00:19:52.460 that shutdown happens, that's when that master hormone, the melanocyte stimulating hormones
00:19:57.420 reduces. And it's when that reduction happens, that every downstream symptomology starts to occur.
00:20:04.540 that's when our hormones get messed up um again the chronic pain lack of sleep the electrolyte
00:20:12.120 stuff it's really fascinating but a lot of the reasons why people say carnivore doesn't work
00:20:16.680 is actually it's very very related to possibly sirs i think when people say i can't balance my
00:20:23.560 electrolytes on carnivore yes when we don't eat or consume a lot of glucose we have less water
00:20:29.160 retention. So what if we are naturally imbalanced in our electrolytes, no matter how much sodium
00:20:35.540 or electrolytes we consume, we're not balancing. What if that's always an issue? Carbs will mask
00:20:40.960 it, but it's not resolving it. And one hormone to give you an example on SIRS, when you have the
00:20:47.440 low MSH, it affects your antidiuretic hormone. And that ADH is what helps you to hold onto water.
00:20:54.300 And so there's a lot of carnivores, they're constantly thirsty, constantly drinking,
00:20:58.320 but the adh hormone is low so they just keep peeing it out so they never feel hydrated
00:21:02.840 so what if that's the issue and not an electrolyte imbalance so that they need to
00:21:07.160 add carbs there's so many examples of this and i yeah yeah yeah yeah no no i know i i totally get
00:21:12.580 that yeah when uh whenever so my both my parents are like they're good now okay they're good now
00:21:20.360 but they're so sick if they're not on this diet that they would be dead like it's crazy my mom
00:21:25.280 has lupus and my dad has like severe depression if he's not on the diet and amongst other things
00:21:32.480 with like psoriasis he had GERD so like there's there's a bunch of things um going on and my dad
00:21:38.220 um his reactions are like more severe or acute they're more acute I would say when he accidentally
00:21:45.400 eats something so if he goes to a restaurant he gets hit with something and he knows that he's
00:21:49.840 having a reaction because he gets extremely anxious but he gets so thirsty he'll drink like
00:21:54.680 seven liters of water like he's just like waking up at night drinking water and we thought well
00:21:59.520 maybe it's your body trying to like flush out whatever's having like giving you an allergic
00:22:04.960 reaction but it would be nice to get like less reactive for them too right particularly particularly
00:22:13.140 my dad so the that you can do genetic testing to look for it and then you can do these blood
00:22:18.140 measurements looking at msh yes and then what so what was the other one really quickly with your
00:22:23.820 dad, I think, um, one big component of serves as mental illness. It's a huge component. So a lot
00:22:29.480 of the markers they become, um, it affects your blood brain barrier causes it to be permeable.
00:22:34.780 So a lot of people, I'll just give you a few examples of my client patients. A lot of people
00:22:38.800 have been diagnosed with bipolar. They will go to their doctors and then they'll do all the blood
00:22:44.100 work on the adaptive side, which is not the side that this is affecting. And the doctor says your
00:22:48.260 CRP looks good. Your insulin is good, right? Cause they're on a carnivore diet. Everything's good.
00:22:52.340 I think it's in your head. And so they recommend them to a psychiatrist and they get them on meds
00:22:57.600 because they are believing or feeling these fake symptoms. And as we test for SERS, we realize
00:23:03.960 actually there are toxins that are getting into your brain because it's breached from the blood
00:23:09.960 brain barrier because of the certain markers that are inflamed. With all that said, the best way to
00:23:15.000 test is there's a vision test. I would say that's the most economical way to start. So if you fail
00:23:21.260 this vision test and it's an it's a contrast sensitivity test the air force is the one that
00:23:26.480 created this test and what they do and they still use it now is they want you to take a simple test
00:23:31.220 to see can you see contrast and it's really faint it's like these gray squiggly lines and if your
00:23:37.480 brain function isn't optimal you will not see those lines and it's 15 you could do it online
00:23:43.120 if you have a decent computer modern electronic so i i'll give you all the information afterward
00:23:48.520 but you could take that test. If you fail it, there's a 90% chance you are suffering from SIRS.
00:23:54.920 And then afterward, the other thing to look at is there's a cluster of symptoms that most
00:24:00.620 SIRS people are suffering with. Now carnivore will mask some of them. So a lot of people will say,
00:24:06.000 oh, I don't suffer from a lot of those symptoms anymore. Maybe I only have half, but it's the
00:24:10.500 question is, is it because carnivore is doing so well with that? So that's the other thing to look
00:24:14.580 Again, if you fall into eight of the 13 clusters, which are symptomologies, you just have to
00:24:19.800 look at the chart and then you fail the BCS test.
00:24:22.780 The chance of you having SIRS is 98%.
00:24:25.480 Hmm.
00:24:26.520 Okay.
00:24:26.960 And then you do blood work.
00:24:28.020 So you can go, um, all the providers, we also do it too, but we usually use lab core
00:24:32.860 quest and the genetic is, um, test is also through the lab work.
00:24:37.020 And, uh, we just test the inflammatory or the, um, innate side of the inflammatory system
00:24:43.860 and not the adaptive side.
00:24:46.360 So, so many of my clients,
00:24:48.360 again, their immune system looks wonderful.
00:24:50.940 All the markers look great.
00:24:52.660 But then when we test the innate side,
00:24:55.420 there's so much inflammation.
00:24:57.140 And so that's why,
00:24:58.020 even if there's questions with this whole protocol,
00:25:01.420 there's baseline numbers you can look at.
00:25:03.360 There are numbers that are out of range.
00:25:05.220 And that's why I fell in love with this
00:25:06.440 because it's not, we're guessing
00:25:08.140 or you do a urine test
00:25:09.640 and they're showing that there's a release of mold.
00:25:12.480 We don't know if that's a good thing because you're releasing something that you ate or or that's you're always suffering from it.
00:25:18.520 We just don't know. Whereas this one, there are numbers, hard numbers that we go by that you do with blood work.
00:25:23.520 And then as you heal, you see the numbers go down.
00:25:26.660 So your inflammatory response is reducing and the whole process is reducing each each inflammation marker so that things start settling down.
00:25:36.740 You start telling your immune system, Hey, everything's okay.
00:25:39.480 You don't need to be on a fight mode and you could be back in surveillance mode.
00:25:43.640 And once you get there, you take the VIP, which that is a polypeptide that basically
00:25:49.120 helps your hormone system or that MSH to be supporting your body again so that things
00:25:54.840 normalize.
00:25:55.740 You can take, if you want to eat other foods, you should be able to, that's the goal.
00:26:00.020 The goal is root cause and being able to tolerate a lot of other foods for you and your parents.
00:26:05.180 hey this episode was sponsored by nordvpn as someone who travels a lot i was always worried
00:26:10.900 about using public wi-fi and exposing my personal information that's why i turned to nordvpn no it's
00:26:16.740 not i wrote this ad with chat gpt is that cheating that's not why i turned to nordvpn it's a good
00:26:24.040 reason nordvpn does keep your personal information safe but i turned to nordvpn to download movies
00:26:29.500 without going to jail. Now I'm talking about it. Anyway, back to the ad. Not only has NordVPN
00:26:35.500 kept my data secure while I'm on the go, which it has, but I've also been able to access content
00:26:40.920 that might not be available in my current location. That did happen. I used it in Serbia to get to
00:26:46.760 Disney. Serbians don't like Disney. I don't know about Serbians, but the government doesn't like
00:26:52.060 Disney. Weird. Anyway, it's been a game changer for me. If you're looking for a reliable and
00:26:56.200 secure VPN service, which you should just have turned on on your computer. Look no further. Nord
00:27:01.280 VPN is the best option out there. It's what I use. With Nord VPN, you can browse the internet safely

00:27:44.940 and the ability to access netflix from different countries and download movies
00:27:48.680 okay cool well i will definitely i mean if it if it's as simple as you can test it to see
00:27:56.360 it's just strange because for us like my parents are feeling great i like i'm feeling really good
00:28:02.800 but i can't like change anything like things are really good so if you're like well what
00:28:08.640 are your symptoms what are my symptoms um i don't know like i'm super alert i think my
00:28:14.740 environmental allergies, they're quite bad. They're quite bad. They were always really bad
00:28:20.000 though, but they haven't gotten better. And then I don't know, other than that, I'm just like
00:28:25.840 perma sensitive. So in terms of the environmental allergies, immune system, this is how I think of
00:28:31.980 it. If your body's immune system and it's not being affected by other things, so let's say
00:28:39.560 foods right so plant toxins uh plant sensitivities then your body should get stronger so that now it
00:28:46.580 has the ability and room to deal with the environmental stuff so if you have seasonal
00:28:50.400 allergies i used to have seasonal allergies when i used to be plant-based i have zero seasonal
00:28:54.420 allergies and yeah and i do i do badly and i've removed like it's crazy everything's out of my
00:29:00.760 diet like everything i never cheat like toxins in my environment there aren't any because as soon
00:29:06.660 as there's one i can tell like so so then why like my assumption was once i did that i would heal and
00:29:15.480 then become less sensitive and it just hasn't happened it's so strange and that's the that is
00:29:20.760 what's supposed to happen ideally your body gets stronger the mucosal lining of everything gets
00:29:25.360 stronger in your body um your your cells are nutrient dense because of the foods you're eating
00:29:29.860 right so they're all getting the proper nutrition to break down into raw materials to support the
00:29:33.840 whole system when you're dealing with something other than food that's why it's not happening
00:29:39.160 and that's where i think carnivore becomes a band-aid and i i mean i am a carnivore nutritionist
00:29:44.940 i believe in carnivore it's healed me so much it's why i don't think the fruit and honey stuff
00:29:49.500 is ideal but i have to be honest for my patients and clients of there is a point where carnivore
00:29:56.880 only works to a certain point and then you have to look further i don't think it means that you
00:30:01.460 have to remove carnivore as a healing mechanism you may be able to become like ketovore or a
00:30:07.540 carnivore plus some plants over time yeah yeah and if but i want people to get to a place of i
00:30:13.180 choose to only eat meat not i can only eat meat it's a huge difference in healing and i i think
00:30:19.420 there's so many carnivores where i mean i'll i'll call it there's so many influencers in the
00:30:24.440 carnivore space that say you're not healing it's because you haven't removed the um the seasonings
00:30:29.760 or the sweeteners or the coffee you're not carnivoring harder you should be adding organs
00:30:34.120 and it's not that simple or that people should be removing salt the adh osmolality affects your
00:30:41.340 salt so what if removing salt or adding salt is just a band-aid for that adh marker it's so simple
00:30:46.640 you just go and test it right there's so many even the low testosterone um two ways that sirs
00:30:53.920 affects testosterone right we hear that so much in the carnivore community of oh this diet's going
00:30:58.400 to ruin your testosterone. And one, if you eat sufficient fat, that should benefit it. But
00:31:03.100 one thing is, so testosterone, once it comes into the body, SIRS increases your aromatase enzyme.
00:31:11.980 And for men, especially when you are even taking exogenous hormones or the testosterone,
00:31:17.540 it will convert a lot of the testosterone to estrogen because of that aromatase. So how do
00:31:23.040 we know that some of the men are not suffering from SIRS, which is then converting their testosterone
00:31:27.760 to estrogen. And it's not that they're just low on T because of the diet. There's just so many
00:31:33.640 examples of that because of SIRS. Wow. Okay. Well, that sounds good. I mean, what I like about that
00:31:39.980 too, is there's tests you can do to see. You can test. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Amazing. Great. Wow.
00:31:47.380 I should do that. And we could talk offline about the testing stuff, but I have seen so much
00:31:54.180 healing in some of my sickest clients and patients where I thought maybe this is the best they can be
00:32:00.000 where they graduated from a grade F of health to a C. And now they're actually close to an A.
00:32:06.940 I have one client. I just shared her story. She was never able to consume dairy. She had histamine
00:32:12.280 reactions for anything she ate. She only ate grass feds. She did a lion diet. She improved a lot, 0.94
00:32:17.120 but then her symptoms would eventually kind of come back depending on the environment.
00:32:20.700 and when she started working with me we did gut supports again it helped a little bit but not
00:32:25.740 enough until we found sirs and she's been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis um Hashimoto's
00:32:30.980 and she has sirs she's done the whole protocol she's not fully done yet she's been doing it for
00:32:35.400 nine months fixing the environment so the home is safe and not water damaged she can tolerate any 0.95
00:32:40.960 plant she wants she could do dairy um she she doesn't have any issues she used to take
00:32:47.200 sinus medication every night to sleep because her nasal, and that is also affected by SARS. 0.97
00:32:52.500 She does none of that. And she's not even done with the whole protocol. She's not on that VIP 0.81
00:32:56.280 spray yet, but she's taken the binders to remove most of the biotoxins that have come in her body
00:33:01.280 and caused inflammation everywhere in her system. Wow. Wouldn't you assume though,
00:33:07.240 and I do want to move on from, sure, not everyone's interested as interested as I am in this,
00:33:12.300 but wouldn't you assume that if you remove the toxin from your environment after, because I've
00:33:16.820 moved to like i don't know i've lived in 30 different houses wow and i like i can usually
00:33:20.860 smell you can like i know that either there's going to be water damage that you can't smell
00:33:24.680 but i'm pretty paranoid about mold so i had mold exposure when i was young but i'm pretty i've been
00:33:29.680 pretty careful about my environment wouldn't your body after i don't know five years wouldn't those
00:33:35.500 toxins just go away naturally so if you if you are part of that 20 of the genetic susceptibility
00:33:42.280 it won't go away so it doesn't know how to remove it because the adaptive side and most of the
00:33:48.660 mold that we get sick from is not the water damage the one that the active mildewy smell
00:33:54.200 it's when spores or mold dries up and then it breaks into fragments and i think one spore
00:34:01.160 breaks into thousands of fragments and it's those really small bits that can breach the
00:34:06.900 blood brain barrier and those are the ones that actually make us sicker okay that's gross
00:34:12.080 yeah okay okay okay moving on from serves we'll talk offline and i think what i'll do just so
00:34:17.700 people are aware is i'll do all the tests and everything and then do an update to see if
00:34:21.640 yeah that was i have no like i have no hope anymore i have this diet the diet's great it's
00:34:26.720 keeping me in a good place but like i'd be able i'd like to be able to eat lettuce again but um
00:34:32.160 i'm excited for you maybe who knows um okay so for for other people a couple of things what happens
00:34:38.880 if you've been doing carnivore for a while
00:34:41.600 and you end up with a low vitamin, say folate.
00:34:46.180 I know a lot of people who've had low folate
00:34:49.100 and my folate showed up as low.
00:34:51.580 I didn't have any symptoms of low folate,
00:34:53.420 but it was low.
00:34:55.920 So what do people do?
00:34:57.940 And then should they be concerned?
00:34:59.860 I feel like low folate isn't ideal.
00:35:02.100 Right, so you need folate if you're going to make a baby
00:35:05.940 and obviously folate is just good.
00:35:07.880 um it's obviously one of the essential vitamins but it may be a new normal so maybe if the thing
00:35:15.820 is most carnivores don't test folate because it's not one of the general tests that are done and so
00:35:21.740 people will go out of their way to test their folate um and so the subset of people that are
00:35:26.060 testing are small but it could be a normal um a new normal just like our vitamin c yeah i have a
00:35:33.580 new normal or LDL, for example. So that's one, but if you do want to supplement, um, I think
00:35:39.980 I was looking at a lot of the nutrition it's, I find it so interesting. So I know that a lot of
00:35:44.740 the beef liver community, the, especially the desiccated organ supplements, um, the, the other
00:35:49.800 products out there, they count that that is the best food to consume for folate. And it's just
00:35:55.580 not true. So I, you know, because I create a lot of the graphics and I'm always on, um, USD looking
00:36:00.620 at the content and um chicken liver is actually higher in folate than beef liver so one one ounce
00:36:08.460 of beef liver has about 20 of your daily value so in terms of supplements that's six so in order to
00:36:14.060 get a hundred percent of your daily value you would need to take about 30 to 31 supplements
00:36:18.140 of the those organ supplements which then there's the risk of hypervitaminosis a and copper toxicity
00:36:24.060 Whereas chicken liver, I think one ounce has 45% of your daily value.
00:36:28.900 So if you really want to supplement, and again, we don't know what the new norm is.
00:36:33.200 If there's no symptoms, the question always is, does that then matter?
00:36:36.440 But you can consume chicken liver.
00:36:39.360 One ounce again has 40%.
00:36:40.640 It's also, there is some folate in lamb, and then there's also folate in egg yolks.
00:36:45.980 So that would be my suggestion.
00:36:48.100 Some other people, again, if there's a root cause, if it's that you're not methylating
00:36:51.760 properly. If it's that your homocysteine is high, it might just be that you need a little support
00:36:56.940 with the methylated B. And I interviewed someone not too long ago and they said that their patients
00:37:02.820 consume the folate from supplements, um, from these organ supplements, and they don't see
00:37:07.760 the needle move enough until they actually take a methylated B. Yeah. Okay. That's interesting.
00:37:14.520 yeah okay okay um okay histamine histamine intolerance on carnivore how often do you see
00:37:23.320 that and do you know why that happens yeah so um histamines are often thought of being released
00:37:31.120 by mcas and mcas is basically a immune system response to protect your body when it comes to
00:37:38.040 SIRS, it's not that. It's a histamine response is part of that innate immune side. And so there are,
00:37:45.880 I think like 200 chemical mediators that your immune system releases to notify the body that
00:37:51.100 there's something inside your body that's not supposed to be there. One of the responses is
00:37:55.280 a histamine response. So if you're suffering from SIRS, that histamine response is actually
00:37:59.300 a gene activation. It's not related to MCAS. Now, when you consume meats and foods that have less
00:38:05.860 histamines you'll feel less of a symptom but it's not because um of the food itself that's making
00:38:13.140 you have a histamine response i hear it all the time carnivore made my histamines get worse
00:38:17.180 it's not though it's actually that maybe your gene activation is now more present and you're
00:38:21.820 noticing it more compared to when you were eating all these plant-based foods that were
00:38:25.640 inundating your body with so much inflammation that you didn't know what was up from down
00:38:29.540 yeah okay interesting very interesting what about um let me see okay what about people who
00:38:40.940 introduce raw milk how do you feel about raw milk yeah so my boys are on they've been drinking raw
00:38:47.060 milk forever um i'm a fan of it it really depends on you so if for example any amount of sugars will
00:38:53.960 affect your blood sugar your insulin levels if you're metabolically unwell maybe it's not ideal
00:38:58.580 for you. If a little bit of sugar then triggers you to want to binge, probably not ideal for you.
00:39:04.420 I know that it's good for gut health, but then if you're really, really permeable with gut health,
00:39:10.120 it may not still be good just because of the lactose. So it really depends. I would say for
00:39:15.940 your individual body, just maybe try an ounce a day, see how you feel with your normal baseline
00:39:22.000 of health. If you start feeling reactions, it might not be good, but you want to do that for
00:39:26.740 about three to five days, the only thing you're introducing is little bits of raw milk. And that's
00:39:30.800 to ideally know if raw milk is benefiting you or not. Seems like a good idea. Yeah. And then what
00:39:38.080 about probiotics? How do you feel about probiotics? So I'm a fan of probiotics. I think that so much
00:39:43.440 of our world and antibiotic use and the die off of some of the chemicals and pesticides we use in
00:39:49.380 a lot of our plant-based foods are riddled with the pesticide, glyphosate, et cetera. And so it's
00:39:55.080 beneficial, but from my sickest clients, they cannot tolerate probiotics at first. Even if I
00:40:00.240 tell them to open the capsule and take a little bit, it affects them. And I think it's because
00:40:04.320 their immune system is so heightened that any bit, whether it's good or bad is going to affect them.
00:40:10.940 So once you get to a place that you can tolerate them, I highly recommend a high quality one.
00:40:15.420 If you're eating carnivore and long-term you're doing good, maybe you do once a year for maintenance.
00:40:20.220 But I think if you're coming from a standard American diet, you've been on antibiotics,
00:40:24.320 you've been you were born c-section you didn't get breastfed for those people it may be beneficial
00:40:29.340 just to do a dose but once you're on carnivore long term i think maybe once a year once every
00:40:34.960 two years but if you're not able to tolerate it there's another root cause yeah i like this
00:40:42.420 this is then this is what i've been thinking too it's like obviously there's something going on
00:40:47.340 it's just what is it and what if it's a viral infection that's like in my cells and it's just
00:40:53.640 there that would be worst case scenario have you ever had sir um have you ever had covet
00:40:59.800 oh my gosh yeah i've had covet four times oh my gosh okay so i i i every time a new strand comes
00:41:06.920 out you get it yeah okay so i i don't know if it's a viral infection now the testing will determine
00:41:12.120 it one thing that a lot of the surge providers says is don't try to say that a certain symptom
00:41:18.680 is therefore equals this so for example a lot of the people in the line community will say
00:41:23.240 if you have Babesia, your symptoms are more this versus if it's just Lyme and your immune system
00:41:28.940 works together. So every person will manifest the symptoms differently. So it's really hard to say
00:41:34.560 this equals that. And it's more, you could just get tested. That's the easiest way to know
00:41:39.280 is your inflammatory response system on the innate side heightened. And then what can we do to just
00:41:45.860 reduce every single inflammatory marker? And that's the goal. That's cool. And are the binders
00:41:52.020 you take for this to remove toxins are those prescription are these supplements yeah they're
00:41:58.060 prescription so it's actually used for cholesterol reduction so that's where i think carnivore is
00:42:03.140 perfect if you've been eating high fat your cholesterol is probably high anyway yeah so just
00:42:07.000 for a short period of time you take these cholesterol reducers it's not statins it's a
00:42:10.620 binder and um when you take it it will remove because it's the same charge and the same size
00:42:16.320 of these biotoxins in your system it's why some of the other like activated charcoal and all these
00:42:21.400 other supplement types of binders don't work as well. They're the wrong charge, wrong size,
00:42:25.960 and it doesn't fit perfectly. That's why this medicated version is ideal. And if you don't
00:42:32.340 tolerate as well in the beginning, it could be your either your immune system is really high,
00:42:35.860 but there's ways to work around that. But it's that cholesterol reducing medication,
00:42:40.600 which we use for SIRS to actually pull the binder and remove some of the yucky stuff that's in the
00:42:46.980 bile cool yeah okay cool i tried um for it like early on like five five years ago yeah like
00:42:56.540 everything bentonite clay activated charcoal chlorella yeah there's just like nothing i know
00:43:03.300 i mean activated charcoal like at least it didn't do anything bad and i don't think bentonite clay
00:43:07.760 did anything bad chlorella didn't make me feel good um but just like nothing nothing was useful
00:43:13.880 until this diet at all yeah and i've never taken a supplement that's helped at all except for this
00:43:18.940 new enzyme okay the the dao which is just like magical i cannot believe how well that works for
00:43:25.280 histamine intolerance and then it helps to break down histamines and that's that's why because if
00:43:30.920 you have good function it'll produce more dao in this um the gut no i know i was trying to explain
00:43:36.480 that to my mom too because she's like maybe we have a genetic problem but i ran our like i we
00:43:40.520 did 23 and me in like 2013 I got my entire family to do it and it doesn't look like we have a genetic
00:43:46.100 susceptibility to histamine intolerance I was like I think it's just a gut thing I think it's a gene
00:43:50.940 thing for you I don't know okay we'll see we'll have to see I think this is what I think of toxins
00:43:56.380 so we all have a toxin but this is the example I always give my clients what as you're growing up
00:44:00.720 everything it'll keep loading and loading and eventually the bucket will overflow and once it
00:44:05.700 overflows that's when you feel the symptomology so as when you're young you may not feel as much
00:44:10.260 You might have the small, like little headaches, the tiredness because of the genetic susceptibility.
00:44:15.480 But over time, if this bucket is fully full, you will start feeling sick.
00:44:19.680 I think why some of those other binders, the supplements, the more natural forms are beneficial is it will reduce a little bit of this.
00:44:26.800 And so some people may be reducing the heavy metal load or some other toxin that's in their system.
00:44:32.320 And they'll say, oh, my gosh, I feel a little better.
00:44:34.880 But if three months later, you're starting to feel sick again, it's not the answer.
00:44:38.320 And that's really what I want to press is even with carnivore, it absolutely reduces inflammation.
00:44:43.920 It's one of the papers I'm trying to write of how MMP9 and carnivore itself helps to reduce inflammation and why people fare better on SERS with carnivore because it reduces the overall inflammation load, but not enough.
00:44:57.920 And so I think with carnivore, it reduces a lot of this, but the question should always be, what is making my load full anyway, right? Of what is making it that I can't even tolerate a little bit of vegetables or a little bit of something that most other people can. And that's what, what I always mean by getting to root cause.
00:45:15.980 Yeah. Cool. Yeah. Okay. How do you feel about, how do you feel about honey and fruit? The doctors that are like, I eat fruit, but I'm also a carnivore.
00:45:26.140 So I always wonder, the question is always why.
00:45:29.200 So if you can tolerate it, you're metabolically flexible, you are an athlete and you feel
00:45:34.960 better on it and all your symptoms are as good as baseline, then maybe it's not an issue
00:45:39.760 if you are metabolically flexible again.
00:45:42.860 One thing that concerns me with fruit and honey is a lot of people that come to this
00:45:48.140 way of eating, they have, they struggle with obesity or they have insulin resistance for
00:45:52.900 those people, something like a fruit can become a pie, right? So apples become apple pie. And so
00:45:59.800 they start binging. I have clients, they do intake forms and they tell me, I tried the fruit and
00:46:04.600 honey because I wasn't feeling well. And now six months out, I'm struggling and I'm on the standard
00:46:09.780 American diet. So I'm trying to work with you to get back on. That's the concern of it. And then
00:46:14.940 the other thing is with when it comes to SIRS, there is one inflammatory marker that gets
00:46:19.120 exacerbated when you eat more sugar. So, um, sugar can be inflammatory and there's a marker called
00:46:25.040 MMP nine when, and, um, when you eat a higher carb diet, that marker will go up. And what we're
00:46:32.880 seeing, and this is the paper we're trying to write is that MMP nine is actually lower on all
00:46:36.760 meat carnivore. So again, it may be the bandaid to hold enough water. So you don't feel the
00:46:42.780 electrolyte issues, but is it really resolving the root cause issue? So that's that. And then
00:46:48.040 honey is, we're all afraid of high fructose corn syrup. We know it's bad. I know that honey has
00:46:52.740 some types of benefits. Um, I did research when I was writing my first book, honey, a lot of times
00:46:58.620 is not being, um, regulated. And so sometimes they might add more color to make it look more
00:47:04.300 ambery. Um, it's just not regulated. You don't know if you're getting a little bit of high
00:47:07.980 fructose corn syrup and honey itself is very high in fructose and it, and there are some people,
00:47:14.140 researchers that say fructose is what is really making us sick and fat and unwell. And if we know
00:47:19.860 that high fructose corn syrup is not ideal, then why are we consuming honey that has actually a
00:47:24.060 little bit more fructose proportionally than high fructose corn syrup? That's fair. I seem to be able
00:47:32.220 to eat honey a little bit. Like that's the only thing I can do without having an inflammatory
00:47:37.780 reaction, which is strange. I would have thought the like pollen in it would have bothered me.
00:47:43.440 affect you yeah but it would yeah it'll be interesting to test your mmp9 because that
00:47:49.360 gets affected if um there's a little bit more sugar it's not always like that but it'll be
00:47:54.240 interesting to see that and that's just another blood test you can take and just yeah it's part
00:47:58.160 of the sir's blood work so sir's blood work is like this one package yeah it's cool okay great
00:48:03.280 i'm definitely going to do that and i will update everybody to see what see what happens that's fun
00:48:07.320 okay what else i had i had the community ask some questions too i answered like one of them like the
00:48:12.920 low folate question um what about what time is it okay a few more um okay and then so how do you
00:48:23.640 feel about like calcium levels and iodine are those important to supplement or do you not need
00:48:28.300 to supplement those i am i know people talked about iodine i never i never supplemented iodine
00:48:33.320 i don't even know what the body needs iodine for to be honest but people talk about it yeah yeah so
00:48:39.120 I do recommend supplementing iodine and oh, okay. So and the reason is, so a lot of people think
00:48:46.100 that taking iodized salt, which is just table salt has iodine. So that's sufficient. The reason
00:48:50.780 the government put that in is because people were having goiters that because they were
00:48:55.580 insufficient in iodine. And so that's why they created iodized salt. There's so many studies
00:49:00.700 that show that the iodized salt does not have enough iodine because some of it gets evaporated
00:49:05.820 in the air as they're processing it. There's also a lot of junk in iodized salt. So it's not ideal
00:49:10.420 for that reasons too. Um, there's a lot of other countries that are suffering from goiters and
00:49:15.460 other illnesses based off low iodine. So it's just something to consider. Every cell uses iodine,
00:49:21.460 um, are the main part of our body that really uses iodine also is thyroid. So you need proteins as
00:49:29.560 well as iodine to then produce thyroid. So in my practice, if someone is having issues with
00:49:35.760 thyroid markers, I will always recommend them to take a little bit of iodine and you just use the
00:49:41.140 iodine drops. And for some people that also suffer from, I don't know, I wouldn't say a genetic
00:49:46.560 component of breast cancer, but I had somebody on my channel where they talked about, they've done
00:49:51.580 so much research where the increase in breast cancer is actually because of a deficiency in
00:49:56.540 iodine. I haven't looked into it as much, but there's no harm in doing supplementing with
00:50:02.880 iodine. There's old research that says if you use iodine, especially if you're hypothyroid,
00:50:07.540 it'll exacerbate that. That was with radioactive iodine. It is not the same as what we're
00:50:12.140 supplementing with. There's a test you could take. You take 50 milligrams of iodine, which is a lot,
00:50:17.480 and you pee it out. And so that's the way the body works with excess iodine. You just remove it.
00:50:21.500 If you're struggling with bromide and fluoride, they're all part of the same table of elements.
00:50:25.860 If you take the iodine, it'll flush out some of that as well. So I think it's ideal if someone
00:50:30.640 can, people can even take a little bit. And one of the benefits I hear from my clients is you'll
00:50:37.040 feel like more tenderness and breast fullness in your breasts when you take iodine. And then for
00:50:43.460 some people in the morning, they'll feel more energy, especially if you're hypothyroid.
00:50:47.300 Huh? That's cool. And there's no downsides.
00:50:50.680 No, I know. Again, there's research where people will say, no, no, there's thyroid doctors that
00:50:54.940 say it's so bad for you. But again, if you look at the literature, it's because it was radioactive
00:50:59.120 divide. And it's not the same. Okay, cool. Yeah. Okay. What about, what about calcium?
00:51:03.920 So calcium is normally people are not deficient because of calcium itself. It's all the co-factor.
00:51:09.660 So in order for calcium to go to the right places, it really defends, depends on a lot of the co-factors.
00:51:14.980 If you're eating sufficient meat, um, your stress levels are reduced. Uh, when you're stressed,
00:51:19.780 you will bleed out more calcium. So it's not a, I'm not eating sufficient calcium. I know people
00:51:24.640 get worried. Well, I don't eat fish. I don't eat fish with bones and then I don't eat dairy. So
00:51:28.720 where am I getting my calcium? Normally it's not the calcium itself. If you need calcium,
00:51:33.360 you can always supplement, but typically speaking, um, it's usually like the co-factor vitamin D or
00:51:38.880 magnesium or high stress in the life of, um, too much cortisol, for example. So I would look into
00:51:45.520 a little bit of the co-factors of calcium, make sure that that is all sufficient. And then you
00:51:50.860 can, and then if it's still in balance, that's when you can then consider calcium. There's a
00:51:55.000 lot of studies that show um i think it's like mid-age women they supplement calcium and then
00:52:00.000 they have higher risk of heart disease so i normally don't recommend calcium right away
00:52:04.880 okay that's good to know yeah that's good to know okay vitamin d um is low vitamin d another sign
00:52:12.720 of sirs yes um so it's not in the literature so i have to always preface that um i have seen
00:52:19.300 so i get very iffy about vitamin d because a lot of the vitamin d i think they use certain
00:52:26.400 ingredients that are similar to rat poison i know vitamin d has been super highly advocated for
00:52:32.600 during covid so i am a little bit more cautious about it and i've been a little bit less vocal
00:52:38.120 about it there might be incorrect numbers that we are chasing for vitamin d levels that's one
00:52:45.100 and i could share a study with you i'll give it to you afterward but it says that actually the
00:52:49.360 optimal level is like 25 and that people were reading the paper wrong i haven't looked into
00:52:55.240 it enough to say yay or nay what i have seen is a lot of my clients again they're the sickest of
00:53:00.160 the carnivore community their vitamin d is low so a lot of them will do the d3 k2 5 000 10 000 i use
00:53:06.160 it barely moves the needle barely moves yeah when they go through the service protocol they take the
00:53:11.760 vip there has been a strong association with when the vip regulates the msh goes up and all the
00:53:17.660 symptoms start reducing their vitamin d goes up naturally hmm cool yeah okay well this sounds
00:53:26.440 this sounds interesting have you done any research looking into stem cell infusions for autoimmunity
00:53:32.500 or nk cell infusions um not you not a ton um i know that it's an option so when people are unwell
00:53:40.220 the stem cells can maybe regenerate things or make things better in the system i just i'm all for all
00:53:47.500 of these things i know that some people uh use adjunct therapies with carnivore and i'm supportive
00:53:54.460 of all of them even if you use cbd at night melatonin i mean melatonin is kind of a hormone
00:53:58.380 so i'm just a little iffy with that that's also affected by sirs i always say get to root cause
00:54:03.500 so why do you need the stem cells right if you think about a couple hundred years ago no one
00:54:07.500 needed that if you want to use it to have longevity and live longer and healthier maybe
00:54:13.220 but if you're doing it because you're not unwell then figure out what's making you unwell first
00:54:18.600 and then if you want to use it totally supportive yeah okay okay great okay let me see what else do
00:54:26.020 i have here okay so say you've done carnivore for a while say you've done a meat-only diet like the
00:54:31.160 lion diet for a while and you're trying to reintroduce foods how do you suggest people
00:54:35.780 reintroduce foods? I always say, look at your symptomology. So if you came to this way of
00:54:42.380 eating and you had diabetes, maybe fruit is the last one you want to reintroduce. If you
00:54:47.780 struggled with gut issues, maybe foods with lectins are the last one you want to reduce,
00:54:53.240 reintroduce. So it really depends on your current situation of why you went to carnivore,
00:54:58.060 and then maybe not picking the certain foods that have certain anti-nutrients. So that's the first
00:55:02.140 thing. But once you decide, okay, I'm going to add leafy greens or add some berries, always start,
00:55:07.720 like I mentioned about the raw milk, start with your baseline. And I always measure a few markers
00:55:13.520 for health. It's your sleep, your mood, your energies, your stool, and your hormones. And so
00:55:18.300 have that baseline of health. If you want to do blood work, you can, but otherwise just go by
00:55:21.960 symptomologies and then use a food and mood journal, write down everything that you're noticing.
00:55:26.880 And if you, let's say, want to introduce berries, maybe start with half a cup at lunch and just do
00:55:31.540 one serving and that's it. That's the only difference of, um, what you're currently eating
00:55:35.160 and then write down how you feel. How do you feel after an hour? How's your mood? How's your stool?
00:55:39.700 Um, how's your sleep? And then the next day, maybe you do half a cup at lunch and then half a cup at
00:55:43.960 dinner and then do the same thing. And I know it's so cumbersome, but that's the best way to know
00:55:49.120 more than any IgG test, many, um, any food sensitivity tests. If you haven't consumed
00:55:54.380 gluten in forever, your IgG test is not going to pick that up. Right. So the best way is listening
00:56:00.680 and honoring your body's reactions and so after three to five days of using the same food and
00:56:05.480 then increasing its dosage if you are feeling fine then that food is probably safe for you
00:56:11.480 and then you keep doing that with every food you want to reintroduce and if you have a bad reaction
00:56:17.800 you want to go back to baseline by eating just the baseline foods you ate wait for that symptomology
00:56:23.160 to go down back to your baseline and then start with a different food and you know that current
00:56:27.240 food was not the food to reintroduce first yeah it's so hard for me to understand how this isn't
00:56:33.480 just widely known in the medical industry it's like duh you can eat one thing you can get your
00:56:41.140 inflammation levels down yeah track your food introduce one by one and see what happens there
00:56:47.360 you go that's such a it's like an elevator pitch it's not a complicated idea i don't know why like
00:56:52.420 everybody should try that i think part of the reason is we live in a society of i want results
00:56:58.180 now right give me a pill give me something instead of doing a carnivore diet which sounds so crazy
00:57:02.600 but if you have this crazy healing you know how powerful it is and i think to say oh my gosh so
00:57:08.220 if i want to introduce i don't know um if there's 365 days it would take you like 100 it would take
00:57:14.520 a full year to introduce just 100 foods and so for some people that's just too much just give me
00:57:19.140 an IgG test or a food allergy test and just tell me what I'm allergic to and I just won't eat those
00:57:23.640 it's easier but it's not the right answer because your body's mechanisms and symptoms
00:57:28.460 are the strongest way to know if something is working or it's not yeah also like regarding
00:57:35.380 those IgG tests they were pretty accurate for me when I was eating you know when everything was in
00:57:39.880 my diet sure the things that showed up in like red and orange they made me very ill when I tried
00:57:44.240 to reintroduce them but there were some things I was very sensitive to that didn't show up
00:57:48.020 so okay not not everything like you know gives you an igg response so so those tests don't work
00:57:55.100 the same way as reintroducing foods reintroducing foods is like a sure way to do it yeah your body
00:57:59.800 never has symptoms and if it does have symptoms it's telling you that something's off so when
00:58:06.520 people supplement hormones or something and they say i'm i'm low i took a dutch test and i found
00:58:12.780 that i'm low in estrogen so i should start supplementing estrogen or when they start
00:58:16.040 works supplement with progesterone you have to find out why you're low because your body will
00:58:21.080 do the best they can with what it has and when it's not when you don't have enough or things
00:58:26.400 aren't working well enough it will show it in symptomologies and when we just say it's that
00:58:31.400 whole medical standard of oh if you're low in progesterone just supplement with progesterone
00:58:36.560 and that works a little bit but then some of it if there was an imbalance already it's going to
00:58:41.120 go to that imbalance too so sometimes progesterone gets shuttled to make cortisol and cortisol is a
00:58:47.620 catabolic hormone meaning it breaks down tissue and stuff so if you're supplementing progesterone
00:58:52.500 some of it will go to progesterone but some of it's going to go and produce more cortisol so
00:58:57.180 the goal is to actually figure out why you're low in progesterone and i think that's where
00:59:01.140 doing a food and mood journal and eating the foods and seeing your own bodily reaction your
00:59:06.720 body's saying no i don't like that or yes i do and if you can't um if you can't consume anything
00:59:13.960 beyond meat then it becomes a band-aid especially if you've been doing it long term because your
00:59:17.940 body should have been healing so much to then reintroduce other things and if you can't dig
00:59:23.640 deeper definitely um how do you suggest people start the carnivore diet if they're on a standard
00:59:30.340 american diet do you ever say people just you know jump right in you're gonna suffer a little
00:59:34.420 bit but jump in or do you have a weaning process i think it depends on the person again i know
00:59:40.180 sorry i don't give like these straight answers but because i think it really is individualized
00:59:43.900 yeah if you are an abstainer versus moderator so that really means if you're all or nothing
00:59:48.420 if you notice that you have addictions or habitudes where either you can eat one cookie
00:59:54.340 and then you don't eat anymore that's probably where you're a moderator um if you're an abstainer
00:59:58.300 it's you try not to eat the cookie but then once you eat the cookie you end up eating the whole
01:00:02.200 box. These are the different personality types. And if you know you're more of an abstainer,
01:00:06.740 it's probably better to go all in. And I know it's tough because you'll go through the keto flu and
01:00:11.340 just they switch from eating carbs and being a sugar burner to eating meat and then becoming a
01:00:17.140 fat burner. But if you're an abstainer, whittling down the carbs is going to be torturous for you
01:00:22.080 because every single day you'll think I can only eat 50 grams today. What does that mean? Can I eat
01:00:26.300 junky carbs or can I eat whole food carbs? But if you don't have that personality and you're more
01:00:31.700 of a moderator, um, the less impact on the body would be to slowly wean down the carbs, but I
01:00:37.260 don't know many people that can honestly do that. Yeah. Okay. Okay. If anybody wants to follow you
01:00:44.800 online, where can you direct them? Yeah. So I'm kind of an Instagram jail. I shared a few things
01:00:49.620 and I think I got in trouble. So just FYI, but, um, so you can follow me on Instagram and YouTube,
01:00:55.920 Facebook. Um, it's all really under nutrition with Judy. And then my book is carnivore care.
01:00:59.480 So both websites are available and, um, you can work with us through nutrition with Judy.
01:01:06.200 Cool.
01:01:06.780 Wow.
01:01:07.160 Thank you very much.
01:01:08.260 And we will talk and I'll do your tests and we'll see what shows up.
01:01:12.480 Yeah.
01:01:12.900 I'm, I'm, I'm super excited for you.
01:01:16.200 I think that everyone deserves a life symptom free and live the life that you are meant
01:01:22.380 to live.
01:01:22.800 And if you have symptoms, you'll never be able to do that.
01:01:26.040 i work with so many people that if they eat something wrong they're bedridden and i don't
01:01:31.300 just like i got a second chance with an all-meat carnivore diet i really believe that everyone
01:01:35.640 needs and should have the right to live a life symptom free and if carnivore is not giving you
01:01:41.800 that freedom dig a little deeper it's not that the diet's wrong it's just that you might have
01:01:46.580 something else additional to food yeah i want you to get tested i i think no no i'll definitely do
01:01:53.740 it it's crazy like it's crazy i should be i mean i did like i know i literally my assumption was i
01:02:00.740 was just going to get less sensitive and i went through a ton of stress over the last number of
01:02:04.080 years which i'm sure didn't help but like even the environmental component like i drive through
01:02:09.760 a neighborhood that has trees that are blooming and i get brain fog and do me and it's like
01:02:14.840 that's excessive right no i agree i think i would be shocked if you didn't have sirs um i
01:02:22.860 yeah let's get you tested um and then we can just go from there and if you have the genetic
01:02:28.060 thing and the markers will show if they're in balance it's not like i'm saying it's in balance
01:02:32.140 the lab core ranges will show that you're in balance so i'll give you all that and
01:02:36.540 my real thing is if you heal with this you can help so many people heal that don't realize
01:02:43.360 they're i know and that's like part of the reason i'm still looking and happen looking
01:02:48.040 is because there's so many people that follow me and i'm like the idea with the diet is you use this
01:02:53.600 and then you reintroduce foods and there's so many people can't read especially people who
01:02:58.380 gravitate towards a lion diet those are the people that do that diet that can't reintroduce foods
01:03:04.460 and it's like well something's obviously wrong you should be able to and i don't know what it is so
01:03:09.920 ideally at some point i figure out what it is hopefully it's this we'll see i just i don't
01:03:15.280 remember like mold i don't know if mold but i mean let's do the tests for sure yeah yeah so we it it
01:03:21.920 might not be just because of mold it could have been um exposure to something i mean have you
01:03:26.640 ever had a flood in the home i mean you said you had mold um exposure right so that that can affect
01:03:31.200 it absolutely so i mean let's just test um i i would do the vision test i'll email you the link
01:03:37.360 and just do that if you fail it there's a higher chance that you have sirs and then the blood work
01:03:42.080 will come back and then you'll know and then from there um you do have to test your home
01:03:46.480 the one thing um so you moved to florida recently yeah but i mean like i said i've moved to 30
01:03:52.260 different houses okay okay yeah so it could have been any of that yeah but florida has um issue so
01:03:58.340 there's a lot of my clients that are from florida and it's because the red tide something about the
01:04:03.320 water the fish there's red tide um there's certain points if you live in florida long enough you'll
01:04:08.180 see headlines of don't eat the fish in the water because there's red algae bloom red and those
01:04:13.720 things can be a biotoxin in your system and even if you're just near the ocean and let's say that's
01:04:20.280 going on where there's this whole if you just look up news headlines um there was one i think two
01:04:24.300 years ago it was really massive in florida and then if you breathe that in um it will further
01:04:29.860 that biotoxin illness so that's another thing just to consider um yeah i'm excited to get you
01:04:35.620 test it. And then if you're positive, you should test your parents because your parents will likely,
01:04:39.880 I mean, that's the only way you got it to then. And this illness manifests differently. For some
01:04:45.420 people it's mental illness. And then for some people it's just physical breakdown and some
01:04:49.280 people it's both. So it just really depends. And I mean, and there's a treatment. I mean,
01:04:53.800 you take the binder and in a month you should notice changes. Yeah. Okay. Well then that's
01:05:00.300 easy. Yeah. Let's do this. I mean, my mom has the like physical breakdown. My dad has the mental
01:05:05.480 part and I have both. I wonder if you got both of their genes. Yeah, probably. And my brother
01:05:11.100 doesn't have either of them. He has no symptoms at all. No. What? That's crazy. I know. Isn't that
01:05:18.060 weird? That's so crazy. He is super blessed. Yeah. So let's do that. And then, and then once
01:05:24.020 you start healing, um, you know, I think, um, yeah, I hope that you share so that, um, and it's
01:05:30.360 not even about me. Oh, definitely. Yeah. No, no, no, no, no, no. Definitely. Definitely. So let's
01:05:34.120 help. I don't know if something shows up. It'd be a miracle. My hopes are not very high, but I'm
01:05:38.280 definitely willing to test. It's not a miracle. I, if you are faith-based I really feel, I think
01:05:43.540 God put me here to share about this. I didn't understand how I ran into this SIRS thing. One
01:05:48.460 of my clients was really sick with mold. They did the mycotoxin, the P test and everything was wrong.
01:05:53.300 And I was just figuring out what protocol do I put her on? And I ran into SIRS and I just didn't
01:05:58.260 understand. I feel that I realized carnivore, a lot of people are suffering from SIRS and then
01:06:03.220 it just annoys me that so many people online are like carnivore harder and it's not always
01:06:07.140 the answer i think for people that are really sick they do need to eat just super clean
01:06:11.460 line diet i i believe that but for other people there's just you know like oh just add a stick
01:06:17.120 of butter or something else and it's normally not the answer um so yeah i i think we can help a lot
01:06:23.520 of people and if enough people make a stink they could fix the building codes that are making us
01:06:29.180 It's the building codes where they're using paper for the walls.
01:06:33.500 And then when we have a little bit of water damage, 48 hours in, there's almost guaranteed
01:06:37.640 mold.
01:06:38.020 And that's based on the FEMA recommendations. 0.99
