00:00:00.560During this provincial election in British Columbia, I have a lot of people telling me,
00:00:05.740Wyatt, why can't you just back the BC Conservatives to beat the NDP?0.89
00:00:10.340Come on, they're Conservatives, it's going to be a worthwhile change from the EB-NDP.
00:00:16.180The problem is when the Conservatives are not Conservatives.0.83
00:00:20.040Remember Aaron O'Toole is the Federal Conservative Party leader in 2021?
00:00:24.700Yes, I don't like Justin Trudeau. I dislike him like rat poison.0.98
00:00:28.860At the same time, if Erin O'Toole is going to turn the Conservative Party into a watered-down Liberal Party, I would have seen that as a bigger tragedy, because even if he got into government, what's really going to change?0.85
00:00:41.040And the cost of getting in was completely corrupting what should be the right-side Conservative option.
00:00:47.840That's what's currently happening in British Columbia.
00:00:50.700And so I need to take you guys through a few examples of candidates the BC Conservatives are running so you will get my point.
00:00:58.000And with me today to go through this menagerie of weirdo candidates the Conservatives are running is my friend and fellow 1BC organizer, Anthony Russo. How are you doing, Anthony?
00:01:09.920I'm doing great, Wyatt. Good to join you again.
00:01:12.180Absolutely. So, again, you joined 1BC after working with the Conservative Party for quite a while. I used to work for them, too. I am not a Puritan. I don't need perfection in my conservatism or I don't support something.
00:01:26.580You probably are like me where I just need basic standards upheld, ideological standards, basic governance and ethical standards, or I have to withhold my vote for decency's sake. At some point, you actually do need to enforce this stuff.
00:01:44.100A hundred percent. You know, a lot of people have been saying that 1BC has started because of
00:01:47.880grievance politics, because of everything that happened over the last two months and more over
00:01:51.560the last two years, that it's sort of the screw you, we're going to take you out, we're going to
00:01:55.300cause a vote split. And so really what I've been addressing with people when they bring that up,
00:01:59.660this has nothing to do with grievance politics. It has to do with accountability politics.
00:02:04.460We want to see a higher standard for our elected officials. We're sick and tired of the corruption.
00:02:08.440We're sick and tired of the capitulation. And at this point, we're really done playing the game
00:02:12.300and we want real change well and at some point if someone can just keep saying we have to vote blue
00:02:17.060to stop the orange well you can never withhold your vote because if that's the standard then
00:02:22.740you will always be voting for a watered down liberal option of the conservatives because
00:02:27.320there's no way you can do unless they literally become the orange team you have to vote for them
00:02:32.720to stop the orange team and that's how Ontario gets into the position it's in but let's jump
00:02:37.940right here uh you might be confused why this is on screen why are you looking at some random meme
00:02:45.060and a guy wearing a furry suit that is because this was a bc conservative candidate up until
00:02:52.580a couple days ago although he is still on the ballot this is jordan mcintosh who was running
00:02:56.980for the bc conservatives in vancouver strathcona who on top of for some reason being a furry
00:03:03.380was also a hitler apologist which doesn't sound like the watered down liberal version of the bc
00:03:10.580conservatives that just sounds like extremist nonsense but this is how bad the filtration has
00:03:15.620been in the bc conservative party he ended up getting bounced for comments he was making about
00:03:21.300the holocaust online but that again you probably would say that doesn't really prove your point
00:03:26.660that this is a watered down liberal party i now need to bring you guys to this excellent clip of
00:03:33.860a star candidate for the bc conservatives this is somebody who's act treated like a bc conservative
00:03:39.460celebrity running for them this is margaret dogval running in vancouver yaletown uh check out this
00:03:46.740video that she posted on her own tick tock last october i had a follow-up to what i said earlier
00:03:54.660Resolving rights and title cases here in British Columbia where we have a lot of unceded land
00:03:58.980is not something that should be done in court. But it has been because governments have neglected
00:04:03.620the obligations that they have. She is specifically speaking about the Cowichan case that put
00:04:09.300Aboriginal Cowichan title over over 150 private homes in the Richmond area including also public
00:04:17.780land and federal and provincial property. This is something that she is justifying right now
00:04:23.380and she is a conservative candidate and look if you're a conservative-minded person that cares
00:04:27.780about private property you care about getting things built you need to look to your decision
00:04:31.940makers to make better decisions and to actually show leadership that means legislation that means
00:04:37.940mechanisms that try to bring nations in rather than pretending that their rights don't exist
00:04:43.780and look unless you believe it's possible to repeal section 35 of the constitution
00:04:48.740there's a crazy amending formula really you don't want to hear about it it takes a lot of work
00:04:52.760We aren't going to see a refuel of those rights.
00:04:55.300Courts are going to keep lining in favor of nations.
00:04:57.740So the time is now to support political leaders that are actually going to do the work that's required to reconcile.
00:05:04.820Otherwise, as taxpayers, we're all going to pay the price.
00:05:07.900Except the work that needs to be done that she is sort of like snarkily kind of referring to is called money.
00:05:15.660It is called land transfers, power and money.
00:05:18.120There is no such thing as some engagement, some legislation you can pass in order to get this thing to go away.
00:05:24.760100%. I mean, we've enshrined DRIPA basically into our law here in BC through, pardon me, we've enshrined UNDRIP through DRIPA.
00:05:31.800And now we need to repeal DRIPA. And then, yes, we do need to start the process of making an amendment to Section 35 of the Constitution.
00:05:38.980And I think she kind of said there, she kind of disqualified it as though this is never going to happen.
00:05:43.080It's never going to be possible. We have people who are right now in the Cowichan area, the Richmond area.
00:05:48.120who are unable to renew their mortgages. And I mean, our entire title security across the
00:05:52.440province is in contention. And so, yeah, this is extreme. It's very serious. And we absolutely
00:05:57.660need to begin this process. And this has been a bit of a theme, even when somebody isn't crazy
00:06:02.900on this issue inside the BC conservatives, like Caroline Elliott. I don't think she's
00:06:07.360wrong exactly whenever I hear her talk about land issues, but I've noticed how muted she's been
00:06:13.240getting as this election goes on. As the BC Liberals took back over the party, kicked out
00:06:18.400Carrie Lynn Finley, the actual discussion around DRIPA, private property rights, UNDRIP, treaties,
00:06:27.700lands, it's been getting very generic. In this video Caroline Elliott posted, I was actually
00:06:33.340kind of blown away that she even made anything on it. Right here she says, David Eby has a habit
00:06:38.540of hiding his secret DRIPA deals from the public. Last election, he signed a deal and didn't tell
00:06:43.640anyone until after the votes were cast. This election, he tried the same thing, but he got
00:06:47.420caught. This pattern of secrecy makes you wonder, what else is he hiding? And the story she's
00:06:51.940referring to is the Premier, David Eby, ended up, his government had 400 secret land deals in the
00:06:58.800works with First Nation bands. The problem here is if you actually watch Caroline Elliott's video,
00:07:04.880I could play you the whole thing, but I don't think we want to sit down and just watch videos
00:07:08.380from B.C. Conservative candidates here, the thing that she has a problem with is the secrecy.1.00
00:07:13.540And this is the thing with Lauren Dirks and the B.C. Conservative leader on TRIPA. They always talk
00:07:17.740about secrecy and how it's divisive. But it's never that it's actually actively bad. I don't
00:07:25.580care that these land deals are secret. I want them to stop. But the B.C. Conservatives also vote for
00:07:31.700land deals. They also endorse the treaty process that gives away massive amounts of land, money,
00:07:37.220and power, oftentimes in exchange for basically nothing. And they vote for it. Birthday parties
00:07:44.020are conducted in secret. They're planned in secret. I don't care about that being a secret.
00:07:48.720I care that the thing itself is either good or bad. Birthday party's good. Random land transfer
00:07:53.660is bad. Lauren Dirksen saying DRIPA is divisive makes me think that he's just going to pass a
00:07:59.340reconciliation act like Peter Milibar was running on during the last leadership campaign for the
00:08:05.420BC Conservatives, last fake leadership campaign they had, he endorsed Peter Melibar, who also
00:08:11.020used this language that TRIP has become divisive, so we need to replace it with our Reconciliation
00:08:15.720Act. So what would substantially change between the NDP, who is pro-treaties and transferring
00:08:23.840land and having to do all this reconciliation work and doing direct partnerships with First
00:08:29.060Nation bands, which just means giving them arbitrary amounts of money and ownership over
00:08:32.880projects, and then going to the conservatives who want to get rid of DRIPA, replace it with
00:08:36.940a reconciliation act, and then engage in direct partnerships and land transfers and all stuff
00:08:41.340like that. It's stupid. Yeah, 100%. I mean, this is the whole problem. Milibar has been1.00
00:08:47.120pushing for quite some time for that reconciliation act. It makes you wonder who's really making the
00:08:51.140decisions with the conservative party. Is it Lauren Dirksen or is it Christy Clark and Peter
00:08:55.120Milibar behind the scenes? And you know what? The leadership contestants, they were all fairly clear
00:08:58.940on it. But here's the problem, Wyatt. It's not just DRIPA. They're basically saying, hey, we're
00:09:02.920going to repeal DRIPA and replace it with a new reconciliation act. We're going to repeal SOGI
00:09:08.040and replace it with something new. We don't need to replace these policies with something new.
00:09:11.800They need to be gutted and we need to get rid of them. They're causing dysfunction across the
00:09:14.640province. Now we need to get into a very controversial thing that popped up with a
00:09:22.840B.C. conservative candidate, and a lot of things are not adding up. So we need to talk about Mr.
00:09:30.620Pavneet Singh, who is the B.C. conservative party candidate for the Kelowna Lake Country
00:09:35.940Coldstream Riding. He's running against a fantastic one B.C. candidate, Alexandra Wright, so if you do
00:09:41.800live in that riding, definitely vote for Alexandra Wright, get a lawn sign, do all that stuff. But
00:09:46.420We dropped on October 15th this post on our 1BC page that says,
00:09:52.860Can Pavneet Singh, VP for the BC Conservatives and their candidate in Colonial Lake Country Goldstream,
00:09:57.960explain what his 2007 criminal charge in Vernon is for and if he disclosed it to the party when he decided to run?
00:10:05.580Now, the response that we got was quite interesting because we had had a lot of people from conservative world come out and say,
00:10:14.220it's traffic violations. This is nothing or a misidentification. This is another Pavneet Singh.
00:10:20.860It has nothing to do with him. He has no charges. And then that's not quite how it ended up a little
00:10:27.520bit later, but you can go on to explain, Anthony. Yeah, it seems like over and over again, when you
00:10:32.540put out a piece of information that has any sort of controversy about really any of the candidates
00:10:37.280that the conservatives have selected, that immediately all the supporters come out and say,
00:10:41.660no, no, it's not criminal. It wasn't a criminal charge. It was just a traffic fine. It was just
00:10:45.320a missed court appearance. And it's like, actually, you know what, maybe we need to start looking at
00:10:49.620this a little bit more critically. Maybe we need to have some people actually investigate this,
00:10:53.700but no, it's untouchable. You're not allowed to bring it up because this is the vice president
00:10:57.640of the conservative party. I've been wondering what kind of vetting process the leadership did.
00:11:02.860And I know that you're going to be showing a little bit more information about this here,
00:11:05.440Wyatt, and that's going to make that very clear. Yeah. I wanted to quickly show the
00:11:10.620we I just quickly want to show the response that we ended up getting from his campaign manager
00:11:17.740because I thought it was quite interesting the way that they had responded to us because
00:11:21.800it demonstrates what they actually knew at the time and now how they're kind of pivoting so in
00:11:27.840this because it's this is a bit of a spoiler for what we're going to be showing a bit later
00:11:31.660this infotel article info news.ca says Okanagan conservative candidates speaks up after
00:11:37.920political rival unearthed unproven historical sexual assault charges. Now, the funny thing is
00:11:43.900we didn't technically unearth it. It was actually Infotel who, on our tip, ended up looking into
00:11:49.960what was going on here. I want to quickly jump over to these lines in the article, though. It
00:11:56.020says, when asked, Singh's campaign manager, Rob Murphy, said that 1BC had said, quote, all kinds
00:12:02.320of crazy things, unquote, about Singh that were untrue. Quote, it's up to them, really. If they
00:12:07.420got an allegation, they've got some evidence, it's up to them to bring it forward and produce it.
00:12:11.880Murphy told infonews.ca, quote, Pavanese was vetted by both the BC United Party back in 2023 when it
00:12:17.580existed, and his candidacy application was vetted by the party. The problem is he's literally the
00:12:22.580vice president and he vetted himself. However, after the charges were confirmed by infonews.ca,
00:12:27.800Murphy acknowledged them. In our judicial system, people were obviously considered innocent until
00:12:32.920they're proven guilty. And in this case, there was no process that has that up for that because
00:12:37.160the allegations was false and charges were dropped, which actually what he just said there
00:12:41.280is false. The charges were not dropped. He was not proved, the allegations were not proven to be
00:12:46.500false. They were stayed. And that's where we're going to get into what happened later. But notice
00:12:51.880there that Rob Murphy first starts off guns blazing. 1BC says all sorts of crazy things.
00:12:58.480It's all lies. They be lying on old Pavneet Singh. There's no charges. This must be like,
00:13:03.880I guess, traffic violations and tickets or whatever, acts as if this doesn't even exist.
00:13:09.260There's no allegation at all. So his own campaign manager didn't know. Apparently,
00:13:14.620BC United didn't know. And apparently there was no vetting that BC conservatives did that unearthed
00:13:20.200this for them to know either. Now let's get to the actual documents that we released and you
00:13:25.620can go on to explain from there, Anthony. Yes. So here we have the actual physical
00:13:32.500charges and one thing i want to touch on before we read this is that rob murphy and a lot of people
00:13:37.520said hey if they have any actual evidence of charges they should bring them forward and then
00:13:42.020what you're going to see after the fact is after we show this to the public then everyone says oh
00:13:46.660this shouldn't have been public you gave too much information but there were three counts back in
00:13:51.6002006 that were against pavnit singh so if you can read them there wide i'm just i can't see the
00:13:56.740screen quite clearly here no worries i can do this so on count one it says pavnit singh on or about
00:14:02.000the second day of July 2006 at or near Vernon in the province of British Columbia did sexually
00:14:07.240assault blank contrary to section 271 of the criminal code. Second one is Pavneet Singh on
00:14:12.400or about the second day of July 2006 at or near Vernon in the province of British Columbia did
00:14:17.240for a sexual purpose touch directly or indirectly with a part of his body the body of blank a person
00:14:21.700under the age of 14 years contrary to section 151 of the criminal code. Count three Pavneet Singh on
