The National Telegraph - Wyatt Claypool - Carney gets Bulldozed by Trump - Zero pushback from ＂Elbows Up＂ Liberals

00:00:00.000 Remember way, way back during the 2025 federal election when Prime Minister Mark Carney and

00:00:06.900 the liberals campaigned as aggressively elbows up against the Trump administration in the United

00:00:12.440 States? Well, Pepperidge Farms remembers, but apparently the Carney liberals don't.

00:00:18.560 Carney ran as the man to go down to the U.S. and stick his finger in Trump's chest and tell

00:00:23.620 him to stop making 51st state jokes, and these days he's conceding on the Gordie Howe Bridge

00:00:29.460 issue, and he seems to be not pushing back at all when Trump floats the idea of fire tariffs against

00:00:35.960 Canada because of all the smoke coming over the border from our wildfires. Yes, Canada has bad

00:00:42.160 force management, but you really cannot stop smoke going over the border because no amount of force

00:00:47.440 management can stop wildfires from breaking out when you have 25% of the entire world's boreal

00:00:53.780 force within your country. Check out this clip from the news of Trump talking about meeting with

00:00:59.820 Mark Carney at the finals of the World Cup, because it does not give me the impression

00:01:05.140 that Carney did a good job when talking to Trump.

00:01:12.300 Although before I actually get to the part where he's talking to the reporters, Trump's talking

00:01:16.380 to reporters, I just got to say every time I see Carney and Trump speaking with each other,

00:01:22.500 Carney has the worst posture in the world.

00:01:25.660 I don't want to become one of those body language readers,

00:01:30.740 but if I was, I would have a field day

00:01:33.320 with how he keeps looking whenever he's next to Trump.

00:01:35.880 He's always hooked over like he has the posture of a question mark

00:01:39.600 whenever Trump's talking to him.

00:01:41.820 Never gives you the impression that he's giving Trump what for

00:01:45.840 and telling him to back off in any way whatsoever.

00:01:52.500 So what a reporter asked him was, did you have a conversation with Mark Carney from

00:02:02.540 Canada?

00:02:03.540 And now Trump is going to generally detail what they talked about.

00:02:06.540 Yeah, I did.

00:02:07.540 How did that go?

00:02:08.540 Well, it went good.

00:02:09.540 But I told him, I mean, you got to stop these fires from coming in and, you know, poisoning

00:02:14.740 our air.

00:02:15.740 Our air has been poisoned.

00:02:16.740 have a good relationship with mark carney but you know we got to stop the fires up there if we can

00:02:22.920 help them we'll help them but maybe they should pay us some damages or something or we should do

00:02:28.460 some tariffs but it was terrible i mean you had businesses closing in particular michigan if you

00:02:35.220 look at detroit the detroit michigan area they had to close everything they had to close car plants

00:02:40.580 and a lot of other things. So I've never remembered this happening. Over the last

00:02:45.160 four or five years, you saw it starting to take place. I've never remembered it happening.

00:02:50.280 From that clip of Trump, I do not get the impression that Mark Carney smoothed anything

00:02:56.260 over. In fact, it sounds like Trump basically downloaded on him and Carney basically just kind

00:03:02.760 of, you know, softly agreed or tried to change the subject, did not move Trump away at all from

00:03:09.260 the idea that maybe he'll tariff Canada for all the smoke coming over the border. It's dumb that 0.96

00:03:14.520 he wants to do that. I'm not defending that. I always at least critique our side for seemingly 0.99

00:03:19.980 being completely limp in the face of American tariffs. Not that I want the liberals to go

00:03:26.120 elbows up mode. That's another stupid tactic. Carney keeps oscillating between the dumbest 1.00

00:03:33.000 possible strategies when it comes to Canada-U.S. relations. Elbows up where we're going to yell at 0.99

00:03:38.840 them for telling a joke. And then we go over to pure conceding, pure capitulation, where we give

00:03:45.140 Trump 50-50 net revenues on the Gordie Howe Bridge in exchange for it opening, not even on time,

00:03:51.720 it opened late, but we're going to potentially open the thing on time in exchange for 50-50 net

00:03:59.580 revenues, even though we paid for 100% of the construction of the bridge to the tune of $6.4

00:04:06.120 billion dollars. Where is the concessions from the other side? Where are you at least getting

00:04:11.180 Trump to sort of moderate his language about Canada? He keeps pushing more because Carney

00:04:17.040 is mush, and you push where there's mush to try and get more concessions. And I now quickly want

00:04:22.800 to bring you guys over to an excerpt from a CBC article that demonstrates that yes, Carney

00:04:28.920 basically didn't push back at all. The elbows up guy is completely elbows down, knees on the

00:04:35.840 floor, begging Trump to just be nice to him. Here's what the CBC article said about the

00:04:41.320 situation. It says, Carney's office issued a short statement on Monday saying that he spoke

00:04:45.860 with both Trump and Mexican President Claudia Scheinbaum, but provided little detail on what

00:04:50.760 was said. Quote, the prime minister provided an update on the wildfire management and the

00:04:55.480 comprehensive approach taken to ensure the safety of all Canadians and Americans, the statement said.

00:04:59.720 Last week, cities in Michigan shut down beaches, splash pads, and Red Oaks water park and even indoor pools because of toxic smoke that blanketed Michigan and other northern U.S. states.

00:05:10.360 The Detroit Free Press reported that dozens of workers at Ford's Michigan assembly plant were taken to hospital after inhaling wildfire smoke inside non-air-conditioned plants.

00:05:21.140 So yeah, Canada's at a rhetorical disadvantage on this issue, and it doesn't matter if forest

00:05:27.860 management can properly deal with the wildfire problem or not. The thing is that because we're

00:05:33.920 not doing it, we can't say to Trump, well, it wouldn't work. Well, if we were doing it effectively

00:05:40.280 and the smoke was still traveling over the southern border, we could say, hey, it just

00:05:44.060 happens. We actually have a very aggressive wildfire approach on wildfires. We have way more

00:05:49.720 water bombers than we used to five years ago. We've been doing a lot more thinning of forests

00:05:54.940 to make sure that the fire doesn't just keep going and going and going. We're trying to build

00:05:59.180 in fire bricks. We're not doing any of that, which gives some credence to what Trump is saying,

00:06:05.100 even though he's off base that Canada can just stop the wildfires. Again, we have 25% of the

00:06:10.600 world's boreal forest. It's not going to happen. You're never going to stop wildfire smoke from

00:06:15.920 traveling around North America, whether it's from the U.S. or it's from Canada, no matter how good

00:06:21.800 their forest management is. Now, because our forest management is trash, though, every once in a while

00:06:26.520 we have a fire that burns down all of Jasper or some other small towns in northern Ontario because

00:06:32.340 the red tape to actually being able to cut down a tree is absolutely wild in this country. But now

00:06:39.040 I want to move on to some of the excuse making or some of just the anti-Trump deflections that

00:06:46.100 are going on when it comes to lefty media. I need to show you guys this clip from Midas Clips. This

00:06:52.560 is that hacky organization that former NDP MP Charlie Angus works for. It's a left-wing progressive

00:07:00.460 front group operating from the United States operating in Canada. I love this clip because

00:07:08.140 basically the way I debunk it is by just continuing to read the thing that this guy

00:07:14.500 uses to attack Republican. So check out this video where they try and pivot the news story

00:07:21.620 away from Canada and the forest fires over to America somehow being bad.

00:07:27.640 Donald Trump is using the wildfires as a pretext to basically attack Canadian sovereignty,

00:07:35.000 which Donald Trump has been trying to do since day one. And then the MAGA sycophants like MAGA

00:07:41.960 Republican Tim Sheehy says, as a former water bomber pilot who used to lead an aerial firefighting

00:07:48.540 fleet, I can tell you, send help is an extremely dishonest framing by the Canadian government. I

00:07:56.080 mean, just think about how sicko these MAGOs are. Send help. What a dishonest framing. 0.97

00:08:02.300 A dishonest framing?

00:08:04.580 Canada, which used to be and should always be as close to the United States as possible,

00:08:10.300 is saying, hey, can you send help?

00:08:11.580 What a dishonest framing. 1.00

00:08:13.500 This is why these MAGAs are just horrible and disgusting human beings. 1.00

00:08:18.780 Send help. 1.00

00:08:19.460 What an awful framing of the issue.

00:08:22.040 How about you just do what neighbors have always done?

00:08:25.040 Why don't you do what Canada does here for the United States? 1.00

00:08:27.580 And then Donald Trump, the sicko scumbag, goes, Tim Sheehy is great, a winner, DJT. 0.99

00:08:34.700 I let that go on for a while because it's going to, the amount of times he kept repeating his dumb points about, oh, how these people are so sick, him claiming that it's dishonest framing by Doug Ford is sick. 0.99

00:08:49.740 So what what happened here was Montana Senator Tim Sheehy was reacting to Doug Ford saying that rather than the Americans complaining about all the smoke, they should send support.

00:09:03.320 Tim Sheehy said, as a former water bomb water bomber pilot who used to lead an aerial firefighting fleet, I can tell you sent help is an extremely dishonest framing by the Canadian government.

00:09:15.940 Now, that's where the guy from Midas Clips ended up, or Midas Touch, that progressive American front group that has Canadians that work for it.

00:09:25.960 That is where he stopped the quote.

00:09:28.960 He didn't go down further and read,

00:09:30.800 The Canadian government routinely blocks U.S. firefighting companies from attacking fires in Canada, while aggressively sending their government-subsidized aircraft to the U.S. to earn commercial rates from the U.S. taxpayer. 0.80

00:09:44.120 It's big business for them, and they run it like a Chinese protectionist racket. 0.64

00:09:48.740 Now, maybe that's true, maybe it's not.

00:09:51.160 I tend to assume it's true, since he is at least citing that he has experience in this field.

00:09:55.620 He's not just saying that I know a guy who knows a guy who told me it.

00:09:58.840 he says that this is his firsthand experience. And I also would assume it's true because

00:10:04.260 the Midas touch guy refused to actually read the second part of the quote that made it clear why

00:10:12.480 he was reacting to Doug Ford by saying that it was dishonest framing, that saying send help is

00:10:18.200 dishonest when by his experience, the Canadian government rejects American water bombers help.

00:10:24.180 I'm not sure if it's a budget thing.

00:10:26.000 They don't want to have to pay the American water bomber crews

00:10:29.280 at the same time the Canadian water bombers go down to the United States

00:10:33.120 to get paid by American states to help out with their fires. 1.00

00:10:36.460 Regardless, though, it's a stupid spin. 1.00

00:10:40.960 Is he right or is he wrong? 1.00

00:10:42.220 You can't just call him a mago-sicko

00:10:44.400 if you refuse to actually engage in the argument that he made. 0.69

00:10:49.260 Now I just want to move on to another issue,

00:10:52.200 and it goes back to the bridge. Again, Mark Carney and the Liberals are like a bad infomercial

00:10:58.760 product. It looks good on TV, but if you actually order the thing, it doesn't work. He claimed that

00:11:04.840 he knows how to deal with Donald Trump, and then we bought the Mark Carney as seen on TV product,

00:11:10.200 and it turns out he's never dealt with the man in his life, and he was lying. Mark Carney is like

00:11:14.980 the slap chop of politicians. Looks great on TV, but in real life, you're going to be picking out

00:11:21.320 small pieces of potato from between the blades because they didn't tell you that things can get

00:11:25.460 jammed between it. But this was posted by conservative deputy whip Chris Workington.

00:11:31.980 I believe he's the deputy whip. He actually might be the chief whip. I'm sorry to Chris

00:11:35.260 Workington if he's the chief whip and I first assumed he was the deputy. But Chris Workington

00:11:39.980 here says, in response to this national post headline that says, Lutnick boasts U.S. will get

00:11:45.260 50% of net revenues on Gordie Howe Bridge calls it art of the deal. Howard Lutnick is the

00:11:51.140 trade advisor to Donald Trump if you didn't already know that. Chris Workington here says,

00:11:56.780 Mark Carney is hiding the truth from Canadians. He got a bad deal on the Gordie Howe International

00:12:01.420 Bridge and then lied to Canadians about the terms. Carney needs to come clean now. He must release

00:12:07.560 the agreement so Canadians can see the facts. And I think this is going to be one of those things

00:12:12.520 that's going to continue dogging Carney for the next couple of months. Carney is in a very

00:12:17.660 vulnerable position right now. As I went over on the whiteboard yesterday, the best issue for the

00:12:23.740 Carney liberals is Trump and his administration. 31% of Canadians put that as one of their top

00:12:31.240 three policy issues if another federal election was called. Now, I assume that a lot of liberals

00:12:37.700 make that basically their number one or number two issue because that party has basically just

00:12:42.980 become a vehicle for thumbing your nose at the Trump Republicans, even though it's not even the

00:12:48.260 same country. But what we saw is that between May and now July, the liberals have fallen from

00:12:57.280 66% of people believing they're the best to deal with that issue of the 31% who pick it as one of

00:13:03.160 their top three to 63%. But that poll was conducted before the Gordie Howe Bridge situation was added

00:13:10.100 in. I think if the liberals can be moved below, let's say, 55, 53% of people who consider Trump

00:13:18.900 and his administration one of the top issues for them, if you can move them below 55% of people

00:13:24.340 who value that issue thinking they're the best, then they are going to have a really big problem

00:13:29.820 getting reelected. Because another thing I went over on the whiteboard yesterday was all the

00:13:35.160 biggest cost of living issues, economy issues, those ones are all favoring the conservatives.

00:13:40.860 Cost of living, the economy, housing, all favors the conservatives right now, despite the fact that

00:13:47.420 that poll still had the liberals leading 6% federally. Yes, conservatives are predisposed

00:13:53.260 to picking financial issues as one of their top three issues, but still the fact the liberals were

00:13:58.760 leading by 6% should have balanced it out. But when you just ask people about cost of living,

00:14:03.740 just ask them about the economy, most Canadians actually trust the Conservatives. But the

00:14:09.260 Conservative mission is to not only extend their lead on the cost of living issues by running on

00:14:14.660 bolder tax reform policies, like what I always suggest at 20% across the board cut, they also 0.56

00:14:20.100 need to shift Canadians away from believing that the carny liberals are good on Trump. 0.85

00:14:25.320 This is a great opening, and they just need to keep hacking away at them. And it's going to be 0.97

00:14:30.820 a war of attrition on this issue, but every time the liberals mess up, you have to just keep

00:14:35.780 slamming the fact that these guys keep oscillating between aggressive elbows up that gets nowhere

00:14:41.680 and aggressive capitulation that gets nowhere, and then they want you to trust them simply because

00:14:47.240 they aren't Donald Trump. You can like or dislike Donald Trump if you hate the guy's guts. Shouldn't

00:14:53.220 you hate Mark Carney even more if he keeps conceding to him? Because at this point, he's

00:14:57.240 a partner in crime if you don't like Trump, because he can't actually get any concessions

00:15:02.240 in return from him every time he tries to go to the negotiating table. But anyways, with all that

00:15:08.020 being said, I think that's probably enough for me today here. I guarantee in the next day or two,

00:15:13.200 we're going to see some sort of CBC panel or other liberal on the internet claiming that this was a

00:15:19.140 big coup for Mark Carney. Actually, I need to show you guys one more thing, because in the midst of

00:15:24.780 all this there was this photo that was posted that a bunch of liberals were trying to spin

00:15:30.460 as like representing him being tough on donald trump uh i had to look it up on one of these

00:15:36.180 liberal accounts i don't really like visiting but they were sharing around this this one photograph

00:15:41.120 of him speaking to donald trump that was supposed to be like really impactful in some way i don't

00:15:47.200 get it at all it was this one right here oh my goodness x is really annoying me right now all

00:15:52.820 the clips are auto-playing as I scroll by, and I usually want them to stay muted until I tell it

00:15:57.000 not to be. They were acting like, oh man, look at this photo of Carney absolutely taking it to

00:16:03.860 Donald Trump. He's not. Do you see his body posture here? He again has the shape of a human

00:16:11.360 question mark. He has his limp wristed hand pointed kind of at Trump while Trump like kind

00:16:18.200 of is looking down his nose at him. Again, I don't want to put too much into sort of body

00:16:22.640 language reading. But Carney seems scared of this man. He screwed up on the Gordie Howe bridge.

00:16:28.540 He's screwing up on the fire situation. Because if you wanted to be more rhetorically aggressive

00:16:34.520 against the Americans at any point, now would be the moment. You would go after the fact that they 0.65

00:16:39.800 have constant fires in states like California that Canada has had to deal with the smoke from,

00:16:45.160 that Canada sends water bombers down to the United States, and now the Americans aren't being

00:16:49.400 grateful. Although Tim Sheehy kind of throws a cold bucket of water on that particular line of

00:16:55.320 rhetoric, because he pointed out that Canada doesn't actually want American water bombers

00:17:00.760 most of the time helping them out. They're going to have to explain that one. But you think at this

00:17:05.260 moment, now is the time you're going to look tough. And Carney just kind of issues a statement saying,

00:17:10.400 oh yeah, we talked about it. And Trump leaving that meeting, talking to the reporters, sounds

00:17:14.900 like he was fairly confident. The whole meeting was basically him telling Carney to get his crap 0.99

00:17:20.060 together. Carney being like, well, you know, it kind of doesn't really work that way, but I'll, 0.97

00:17:24.200 you know, I'll take it back to my people and we'll deal with it. And it'd be great if you could give

00:17:28.120 us some support. And that's all that happened. Again, I actually think we need a more friendly

00:17:33.040 approach with the Americans, but this is not the marketing the liberals ran on in 2025. Again,

00:17:39.920 And Carney ran as the guy who, if Trump made a 51st state joke, he was going to go down to Washington, D.C., stick his finger in his trap, backhand him, and tell him to take all the tariffs off.

00:17:51.500 And maybe he'll consider, you know, he'll maybe consider taking 50 percent of our counter tariffs off if Trump gives him everything he wants and the state of Rhode Island.

00:18:01.280 And now he's like, we'll give you 50 percent of net revenues on the bridge if you let us open it.

00:18:07.300 And he's tried nothing.

00:18:08.900 he's tried nothing and he's all out of ideas

00:18:11.060 so he just gives Trump whatever he wants

00:18:12.580 my goodness I even like Trump on a lot of

00:18:15.160 policies I'm not some guy who's like

00:18:17.040 like sitting here being oh my goodness

00:18:19.200 his fascist regime 0.55

00:18:20.720 in America is going to try and annex Canada

00:18:23.280 that's not how I think about things

00:18:25.120 I think a lot of his policies are good

00:18:26.800 I dislike some of his policies especially tariffs

00:18:29.260 I feel like I at least

00:18:31.200 understand the man better than Carney

00:18:33.300 does Trump wants a win

00:18:35.080 and you can get what you

00:18:37.320 want, but you have to make it still feel like a win for Trump. We can get to zero tariffs if you

00:18:43.240 market it properly to Trump. But Carney's like cozying up with the Chinese, refusing to concede 0.99

00:18:50.500 on that point to get to zero tariffs, but then also conceding on other stuff in exchange for 0.95

00:18:54.980 nothing. And at this point, Trump's like, well, he refuses to drop the China thing and supply

00:19:01.040 management. So I guess I'm not going to make a deal to go down to zero tariffs. But I can basically

00:19:07.220 just keep kicking this vending machine and every once in a while Carney just gives me like a 50%

00:19:12.880 revenue share on a bridge or he gets rid of the digital services tax or he gets rid of the streaming

00:19:17.580 tax and all it takes is a little bit of pressure because Carney's too scared to deal with me

00:19:21.980 directly so every once in a while he gives me a goodie just to keep me at distance that's

00:19:26.460 effectively what is going on here anyways with all that being said thank you guys for watching today
