00:00:00.000 Hey guys, Wyatt Claypool here. Based on the first six days of Canada's federal election,
00:00:06.420 this thing looks like it's going to be absolutely insane all the way through.
00:00:11.220 And to prove my point, I need to introduce you to a man named Paul Chang. He is the current
00:00:17.360 sitting Liberal MP for the riding of Markham Unionville running for re-election, and he has
00:00:23.040 called for one of the Conservative Party candidates in the GTA to be jailed by the Communist Party of
00:00:29.720 China. This is not a parody. This is something that has actually happened. He has since apologized
00:00:36.340 for it, but I want to take it from the top and explain why the apology is obviously not enough
00:00:41.940 and this man should be stepping down as the Liberal candidate in this area. So he was being interviewed
00:00:48.700 by a Chinese paper, and so he decided for some reason to comment on a man named Joe Tay running
00:00:57.400 for the Conservatives in Don Valley North on how the fact that he has a bounty on him from the
00:01:03.960 Hong Kong police. This is obviously not for legitimate reasons, but for some reason, Paul
00:01:10.000 Chang thought this was a great thing to mention and said that maybe people should turn him into
00:01:14.400 the Chinese consulate. Look at right here. So I'm just going to read a little bit of this article.
00:01:19.300 So it says, Liberal candidate Paul Chang seeking re-election at Markham Unionville recently spoke
00:01:24.720 openly about the Hong Kong $1 million bounty placed by the Hong Kong police on Joe Tay, a Conservative
00:01:31.760 candidate at Don Valley North. Quote, to everyone here, you can claim the $1 million bounty if you
00:01:39.480 bring him to Toronto's Chinese consulate, Chang reportedly told Ming Pao, a Chinese language media,
00:01:45.240 during an ethnic media conference in January. The language in this article is a little bit scuffed
00:01:50.000 because I believe it's actually translated from Mandarin. And then, quote, this is shocking,
00:01:55.980 Mr. Chang openly encouraged people to assist the Chinese interference and transnational repression,
00:02:02.000 said Chuk Kuan, co-chair of the Toronto Association for Democracy in China. Rather than, quote, rather than
00:02:08.760 protecting Canadians, he is betraying them and jeopardizing their safety. What party has a foreign
00:02:15.420 interference problem? I'm pretty sure it's the Liberal Party. By the way, the Liberals were the
00:02:20.940 same party that got off scot-free in the Hoag report where Mary Hoag, when she was reviewing the
00:02:27.740 issues around foreign interference in the Liberal government, basically just said, nothing to see here,
00:02:33.140 just a bunch of mistakes. Yeah, were they involved with Chinese front groups, CCP front groups? Sure,
00:02:39.480 but haven't we all accidentally been sucked into a hostile foreign government's front group at one
00:02:44.440 point in our lives? In which I say, no. No, we have not. Paul Chang should obviously be stepping down
00:02:52.360 as the candidate in this riding, but he is not. For some reason, he thinks he can actually ride this
00:02:58.740 one out. Now, the Liberals don't really want to have to drop the guy because they just had to drop
00:03:03.300 another candidate in the riding of Calgary Confederation because the guy turned out to be
00:03:08.560 like a serial domestic abuser who had been bragging about it to his friends who were so disturbed that
00:03:15.060 they basically reported on him. And now with Paul Chang, they don't exactly want to have to drop
00:03:20.280 especially a GTA candidate for him saying something dumb to the media. So this is what Paul Chang said,
00:03:27.800 basically confirming that, yes, those were his words because he had to apologize for them.
00:03:32.340 In his statement where he says,
00:03:34.260 the comments I made were deplorable and a complete lapse of judgment on the seriousness of the matter.
00:03:41.940 As a former police officer, I should have known better. I sincerely apologize and deeply regret my
00:03:47.440 comments. I will always continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Hong Kong and their
00:03:52.660 fight to safeguard their human rights and freedoms. Does he? Does he? Because he's making what I think
00:03:59.440 aren't even exactly full-on jokes about how there is another conservative candidate in the area that if
00:04:06.100 you put him into the back of a van and brought him to the Chinese consulate, maybe you'll get a million
00:04:10.120 dollar reward for doing it. It's been two days. The liberals still haven't gotten rid of this guy.
00:04:19.740 Do you think that the liberals may have a bit of a soft relationship with the CCP in Beijing
00:04:25.900 if they don't get rid of this guy? If they don't get rid of him, my goodness, Mark Carney is just
00:04:31.880 confirming that the CCP owned his party, that a man saying something that outrageous just gets to
00:04:38.040 stick around. You know, water under the bridge, no big deal. It's just him wanting the jailing for a
00:04:46.560 bounty on a conservative opponent over something completely nonsense. It's not like Joe Tay
00:04:53.320 had like killed somebody or like assaulted someone and he has a bounty on his head. He has a bounty on
00:04:59.380 his head because he's in favor of freedom for Hong Kong. That is what has warranted a million dollar
00:05:05.620 Hong Kong dollar bounty on him. But anyways, I want to move on to another story because that's a little
00:05:11.620 bit shorter and I want to address something that's been floating around recently on social media,
00:05:17.200 in the media in general, where people from the CPC HQ, the Conservative Party HQ, have been leaking to
00:05:24.580 journalists to complain about how the campaign has been basically conducted. And I kind of agree with
00:05:31.820 what people are saying in the Globe and Mail and the CBC who are leaking. At the same time, I want to
00:05:37.280 call hypocrisy on so many of these individuals. I don't know any of their names. I'm just assuming who
00:05:42.820 many of them are, but it doesn't really matter. So many people are complaining about one of the top
00:05:48.540 advisors to the campaign, effectively the campaign director, Jenny Byrne, and how she has been conducting
00:05:54.400 the campaign so far. Now, I agree, I actually don't like the way the Conservative Party is running this
00:06:01.300 campaign in many aspects. There's not enough issues, I would say, that right now the Conservatives
00:06:06.620 decisively own in this election campaign. While their policy is definitely better than the Liberals,
00:06:11.840 I think that they need to be more audacious with the promises they make. Because moderate reductions
00:06:18.420 in taxes over what the Liberals are promising and moderate reductions in immigration are nice,
00:06:23.920 I would want that over what's happening now. But to the average voter, if they hear the two different
00:06:29.160 immigration cap numbers from Carney and Polyev, you can forgive a lot of people for not really being
00:06:34.240 able to see the big vision difference between the two. It's more so that the Conservatives are pushing
00:06:40.640 for more efficiency in government, and whereas the Liberals think we need to spend more for our
00:06:45.640 futures or whatever, which actually is a narrative that might favor the Liberals, because it's not
00:06:50.500 like they're not making changes, but they're saying that this is the more prudent way of doing it.
00:06:55.680 I think the Conservatives, and I've written a whole post here that I might want to read for a second,
00:07:00.760 I think the Conservatives need to get more aggressive. But the problem with all of these articles,
00:07:05.980 quoting 17 inside sources complaining at Jenny Byrne and complaining at other managers within
00:07:11.600 the party, which I get the criticisms of them. By the way, some of these people were the ones who
00:07:16.020 got me kicked out of Calgary Signal Hill's Conservative nomination. At the same time, the people
00:07:21.200 criticizing people like Jenny Byrne are the same people who lost the 2021 elections and 2019 elections.
00:07:28.020 So their advice is completely hypocritical, because they were saying, well, I don't like what
00:07:33.080 Paul Yev and Jenny Byrne are doing, so why don't they do even more Red Tory nonsense and lose the
00:07:38.840 election outright? So this was my entire take on the matter. If you haven't seen the articles,
00:07:45.360 if you look them up, you'll probably be able to find the infighting that's currently going on.
00:07:50.060 But my statement was, with the sources leaking on CPC HQ, I find it funny that the advice they are
00:07:57.540 giving on what the party should be doing is the same Red Tory garbage that lost the CPC
00:08:02.780 for 2021 and 2019 elections. I understand why criticism exists right now, but I smell a lot
00:08:11.320 of hypocrisy coming from these sources on top of the fact their advice sucks. And no, the CPC is not
00:08:17.520 seeing friction in the election because they don't talk about Trump negatively enough. It's a foolish
00:08:22.660 move to try and out-compete the Liberals and NDP on anti-Trump rhetoric instead of just seizing on a
00:08:28.860 pro-Canada message instead. And I think that is what Polyev has been doing well so far. Just say
00:08:34.220 Canada first, don't just keep slagging on Trump. You're not going to beat the Liberals and the NDP
00:08:39.060 on a Trump slagging competition. Neither is a smart thing to do that if you become Prime Minister,
00:08:44.820 Trump associates you with attacking him all the time. But I go on to say, what CPC HQ needs to do
00:08:51.240 instead is take more attention-grabbing positions on immigration, taxes, and social issues. Right now,
00:08:57.640 there is just not enough big issues the CPC decisively owns. And I think this is an important
00:09:02.940 point. I know I'm just agreeing with myself here, but it's an important point to say that you need
00:09:07.500 to have an issue where everyone associates you with it. Not that you're just a better version of what
00:09:12.800 the Liberals are doing. And I'm not saying that the Liberals and Conservatives are the exact same.
00:09:16.740 But what you want to do is you don't want people just to say, oh yeah, Polyev is the one giving us
00:09:21.580 the bigger tax cut. You want to be the one saying, Polyev is the one slashing taxes. You don't even
00:09:26.960 want Mark Carney's name to even be brought up in the conversation about taxes because you own that
00:09:31.960 issue. On immigration, you want to cut immigration so much that you're the only one seemingly taking
00:09:37.580 the issue of immigration seriously. Yeah, you might be offering $100,000 less than the Liberals,
00:09:42.500 but in what I would say a non-politically sophisticated person's mind, they don't
00:09:47.340 really understand the difference between a $350,000 immigration PR cap and a $250,000.
00:09:54.980 So anyways, but I go on to say they need to run on an across the board tax cut, including corporate
00:10:01.480 taxes, not just a base income tax bracket cut like they have promised, because that's what the
00:10:06.680 Conservatives have done so far, a 2.25% reduction on people on the lowest tax bracket, which is like
00:10:14.160 under $55,000 a year or something like that. I said it is in fact anti-Canadian to overtax our job
00:10:20.040 creators and businesses. So that's why you should be cutting people who make over $150,000 taxes as
00:10:27.080 well and their corporate taxes, because it will create way more jobs. And it is in fact anti-Canadian
00:10:32.480 to be holding our own businesses down. But I say they need to run on an $150,000 immigration cap,
00:10:39.560 not $250,000, which feels like too moderate of a proposed reduction relative to the Liberals'
00:10:45.500 current cap. Also, they need to hit the Liberals on the idea they have hollowed out the country on
00:10:50.260 so many fronts. They are the ones who made Canada vulnerable to the USA and yet are pretending to be
00:10:55.660 the great defenders of Canada. Again, I'm not just trying to harp on about the things that I like to
00:11:00.900 talk about when it comes to politics. This is genuine advice I'm trying to give to the CPCHQ.
00:11:07.820 I believe they can still win right now. In fact, if I'm to put money on it, I think the Conservatives
00:11:12.940 at least get a minority government. But going into the debates, what you really want to do is make
00:11:18.280 the contrast between you and Carney so stark it gets people talking. Because guess what? You know
00:11:23.820 who's going to sound a lot like Carney on the debate stage? Jagmeet Singh, Elizabeth May, Francois
00:11:29.600 Blanchet. They're going to sound very liberal in their policies, except they're going to say,
00:11:34.420 well, Carney's doing a little bit too much over here, or he should be doing more over here.
00:11:39.180 What Polly wants to be able to say is stand up and say, nobody's talking about how we have way too
00:11:43.560 much immigration. We need to be slashing it down to $150,000 a year so our markets can recover.
00:11:48.480 We need to be reducing the taxes across the board. We should be paying 20% less taxes as a collective
00:11:56.240 whole in the next four years. We need to be actually ending DEI in government. And I know
00:12:02.020 he said some of these things at some points, but there's a difference between what you've said a
00:12:06.000 year ago at a rally and what you're saying on the campaign trail now. Because so many Canadians do not
00:12:11.560 even clue into what's going on in the election, just like any citizens of any country. Don't clue into
00:12:16.180 what's going on in the election until it's right upon them. So you got to say things that are
00:12:20.920 audacious, that get people talking, that get people like, oh my goodness, that they get in.
00:12:26.920 I'll actually be like paying like 5,000 less in taxes. You want a business to realize, oh my goodness,
00:12:32.800 we could actually expand if these guys get in because we'll save so much. We can actually consider
00:12:38.040 expanding into Winnipeg or expanding into London because we're only in Calgary or Saskatoon right now.
00:12:44.320 That's what you want. You want people in downtown Toronto who normally vote default liberal realizing
00:12:50.640 how much more the gains are in going conservative and also on immigration, getting so many younger
00:12:56.560 people to realize, oh my goodness, the competition is going to dry up for housing for the next five
00:13:00.740 years. I actually have a chance at a house. That's what you want. But now I'm standing on a soapbox. So
00:13:06.580 I apologize, people. Remember to like this video, subscribe to the channel, leave a comment,
00:13:11.360 do all that great stuff. I'm going to try and always have a couple to a few videos per day
00:13:15.660 going over election issues since I think it's always good to be firing away on this stuff.
00:13:20.160 Hopefully the CPC HQ listens to me. Obviously, they have incentives not to listen to me because
00:13:26.120 they in fact kicked me in the face a couple times this past year. But, you know, water under the
00:13:31.280 bridge, guys. I just want you to win the election. Anyways, so that's it for me today,
00:13:35.900 guys. Thanks for watching the videos. Hopefully you've noticed my rotating Nintendo Entertainment
00:13:42.240 System game I always have to my left shoulder today. It's Galaga. Tomorrow it could be anything
00:13:47.060 else. I have like 95 of these things to go through. I'm not even sure how many cartridges I have. But
00:13:52.160 if you ever collected the system back in the 80s or 90s, you might notice a few of them.
00:13:56.600 But so that's it for me, guys. See you later.
