Summary

Three incompetent Canadian politicians get their comeuppance for a $75 million anti-Trump ad in the United States, and no one seems to be a bit mad about it. Doug Ford, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, and British Columbia Premier David Eby are all in hot water for their part in this whole mess.

00:00:00.560 Hey guys, Wyatt Claypool here.
00:00:03.120 So much comedy in our world is based on characters who seem blissfully ignorant of the consequences
00:00:10.480 of their own actions.
00:00:12.520 And the story in Canadian politics we are going to talk about today is exactly this.
00:00:18.400 Three incompetent Canadian politicians who didn't think that the obvious thing that
00:00:23.440 was going to happen would happen because apparently reality does not apply to them.
00:00:28.920 I, of course, I'm talking about Ontario Premier Doug Ford, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney,
00:00:35.320 and British Columbia Premier David Eby.
00:00:38.820 These guys thought that their elbows-up political stance was just going to give them benefits
00:00:44.760 and there was not going to be consequences to, you know, doing stupid things like running
00:00:50.600 a $75 million anti-Trump ad in the United States in the case of Doug Ford.
00:00:57.360 So we got to take this thing from the top and go over the timeline and what just happened
00:01:03.040 today because it is hilarious and it is quite enjoyable watching these people get their comeuppance.
00:01:09.760 It was so obvious this was going to happen.
00:01:11.760 This is like Dumb and Dumber.
00:01:13.620 People who don't understand cause and effect.
00:01:16.940 They think that they can just assign themselves their own effect for the thing that they do.
00:01:21.760 Well, I'm going to run this ad and it's going to have a good outcome because I said so.
00:01:27.180 Oh my goodness.
00:01:28.540 Anyways, but before we get into it, guys, I just need you to like this video, subscribe to the channel if you are not yet a subscriber,
00:01:36.340 and if you are a subscriber, hit the notification bell down next to the subscribe button.
00:01:40.740 It'll let you know whenever I upload a new video.
00:01:43.120 And then, of course, leave a comment on what you think about this whole situation.
00:01:47.280 So let's go back about 10 days into the past.
00:01:51.640 Ontario Premier Doug Ford, yes, he is technically a conservative, a progressive conservative with heavy emphasis on the progressive,
00:01:59.780 decides that the way that he is going to try and help Canada get a better trade deal with Trump's administration in the U.S.
00:02:07.600 is to run an advertisement using audio clips of President Ronald Reagan condemning tariffs.
00:02:16.360 Basically, it is an anti-Trump ad and he spent $75 million on it,
00:02:22.160 an amount of money that is completely absurd if you actually know how little is spent on Canadian advertising campaigns.
00:02:29.100 $75 million is more than what all of the Ontario provincial parties spent on the Ontario election in February of 2025.
00:02:39.360 And we spent that, Ontario spent that, to get what done?
00:02:44.540 Nothing but have Donald Trump flip the trade negotiation table and basically require an apology
00:02:51.240 and probably more concessions from Canada to even getting back to negotiating.
00:02:55.620 I have no clue why Doug Ford thought this was a good idea other than he wants to gird up his favorability ratings by going elbows up
00:03:04.660 and hoping a bunch of very liberal Ontarians think he's a great guy for sticking it to Donald Trump.
00:03:10.420 No benefit at all.
00:03:12.300 And obviously, Mark Carney and his federal liberal government knew they were going to run these ads from Ontario.
00:03:19.740 How could they not know?
00:03:20.760 In fact, Ford had then later said, oh, of course Carney knew I was doing this.
00:03:25.820 Carney later confirms he knew he was going to do it.
00:03:28.200 And then Carney threw Doug Ford under the bus by saying, well, I told Ford not to do it.
00:03:34.360 Ford had previously indicated that Carney was cool with him doing it.
00:03:38.240 But Carney, after having to apologize to Donald Trump for these ads,
00:03:43.140 because Canada would clearly not put up with a Republican governor running ads in Canada to go after Mark Carney,
00:03:52.580 we had to apologize.
00:03:55.100 And then Carney basically said, well, it was never my idea.
00:03:58.680 I told Ford and his staff not to do this.
00:04:01.080 And now we have Doug Ford coming out and saying that Carney's a liar.
00:04:06.100 And now they're squabbling between each other over something that was clearly stupid in the first place.
00:04:12.520 And it's obvious that Carney didn't actually tell him not to do it.
00:04:15.240 You think if Carney really wanted him not to do it, that Ford would just do it anyways?
00:04:19.880 We will be getting to Premier David Eby's role in all this from British Columbia later,
00:04:25.300 because he also wanted to do the same thing as Doug Ford and was just recently stopped today.
00:04:31.180 But here's Ford being interviewed by the media on what Carney had said,
00:04:35.800 you know, being that he told Ford not to do it.
00:04:38.340 Well, I'm not going to get into he said, he said.
00:04:41.720 Back and forth, I don't think the people of Canada want that.
00:04:46.040 I know one thing, we're united on getting a deal.
00:04:48.920 I have asked him to focus on many areas, but especially on the auto sector.
00:04:53.980 And I know he's doing his best to get that back to the table.
00:04:57.980 You don't want to correct the public record here?
00:04:59.420 The prime minister says he had to apologize.
00:05:01.360 And he said that he asked you specifically not to run the commercial.
00:05:04.920 Well, again, I'm not going to go back and forth.
00:05:07.180 I had a different recollection of our conversation.
00:05:11.580 But that's, you know, people don't need that.
00:05:13.840 They want...
00:05:14.580 So they're both claiming that they're liars.
00:05:16.520 He can say, oh, I don't want to do a he said, he said.
00:05:19.040 Well, you're doing it because you're saying that I have a different recollection
00:05:21.700 saying that Mark Carney didn't say it.
00:05:23.140 And by the way, I dislike Doug Ford.
00:05:25.620 This is why I support the new blue party in Ontario.
00:05:28.620 Because if your conservative party, the PCs, become so indistinguishable from the liberals,
00:05:35.060 you might as well just vote for a different conservative party
00:05:37.600 and hope the PCs, if they lose, actually turn themselves into a real conservative party again.
00:05:42.280 But in this case, I don't like Ford.
00:05:44.280 But I assume he's actually right.
00:05:46.080 Do you think that the Ontario Premier would end up running an ad unless the federal government
00:05:52.140 was at least not going to say anything about it right away?
00:05:55.700 Because if Carney wanted Ford not to run the ads,
00:05:58.880 he could have made a public statement preempting the ad,
00:06:00.820 saying, I've told Doug Ford not to run this ad campaign in the United States.
00:06:05.100 I condemn it.
00:06:05.880 This is not helpful.
00:06:07.180 He could have done it.
00:06:08.100 He didn't because he knew that the ads were coming.
00:06:10.160 And he probably was backing Doug Ford's play,
00:06:13.040 but was too much of a coward to do the stupid thing himself.
00:06:15.880 To move forward, to get a deal, to protect jobs,
00:06:18.940 and protect the economy of Ontario and of Canada.
00:06:22.480 You don't remember him saying, no?
00:06:24.420 You don't remember him saying?
00:06:25.460 No, again, I'm not going down that avenue.
00:06:28.080 I know, I've talked to him this morning through text message.
00:06:31.920 We have a great relationship.
00:06:33.460 We are focused on the same areas,
00:06:35.440 and that's protecting Canadian jobs, Ontario jobs,
00:06:38.740 the steel sector, the auto sector, life sciences, and manufacturing.
00:06:41.980 Are you able to share your recollection, Premier?
00:06:44.300 Again, I'm just not going to go down that avenue.
00:06:48.160 I'm not jumping into that bear trap.
00:06:50.140 He's already said that you have a different recollection to Mark Carney.
00:06:54.860 So what is that recollection?
00:06:56.700 Because obviously if it's different, you're saying that he's lying,
00:06:59.720 or at the very least that Mark Carney's delusional
00:07:02.100 and he doesn't know what was said.
00:07:03.540 We have a great relationship.
00:07:05.440 I'll tell you one thing, what he did do.
00:07:08.120 He called me from Asia a couple of times and said, pull the ad.
00:07:11.920 And I said I wasn't going to do it until we're going to pause the ad on Monday.
00:07:15.260 And that's exactly what we did.
00:07:17.040 It was 12.4 billion impressions around the world.
00:07:20.140 And they talked about it on the Senate floor.
00:07:23.160 I love the fact that four Republicans jumped over
00:07:26.320 and voted against tariffs on Canada.
00:07:29.580 So they were very effective.
00:07:32.320 All of that was already in the works.
00:07:35.000 There's a lot of politicians in the U.S. who don't like the tariffs.
00:07:39.460 I don't like the tariffs.
00:07:40.800 But if anything, Doug Ford has set back the anti-tariff movement in the U.S.,
00:07:46.880 at least getting tariffs off of Canada,
00:07:49.300 because now he's created this whole thing where are you now going to side with Doug Ford,
00:07:53.920 a Canadian premier, attacking the president, running ads against us,
00:07:58.320 trying to counter-signal us with taxpayer Canadian money,
00:08:01.120 trying to interfere in the elections.
00:08:03.240 Because, again, we would call it election interference
00:08:05.700 if Texas Governor Greg Abbott or Florida Governor Ron DeSantis
00:08:09.660 ended up running advertisements in Canada
00:08:12.960 to go after Mark Carney and basically say that his policy is bad
00:08:16.600 and that, you know,
00:08:17.620 Pierre Elliott Trudeau would call him an idiot for this and whatnot.
00:08:20.020 Obviously, we would not put up with that.
00:08:22.020 Ended up getting, rejuvenating the talks with the Democrats and Republicans down in the U.S.
00:08:28.920 that a tariff on Canada was a tax on American people.
00:08:32.520 What was the prime minister's tone when he asked you a couple of times to pull the ad?
00:08:35.560 Was he personally angry with your actions?
00:08:37.400 No, he wasn't.
00:08:37.980 He wasn't angry at all.
00:08:39.000 I fully understand the position he's in.
00:08:40.940 He's trying to talk to the president.
00:08:43.640 But the president was going to give us a terrible deal,
00:08:46.220 like they gave the U.K. a terrible deal,
00:08:48.280 gave Japan even a worse deal, in my opinion.
00:08:50.860 And we weren't going to go down that rabbit hole of getting a terrible deal.
00:08:54.860 I always say no deal is better than a bad deal.
00:08:57.840 And that's what President Trump wants.
00:08:59.420 He wants a terrible deal for Canadians.
00:09:01.740 I take a different approach.
00:09:02.840 I want the Amcan fortress, American-Canadian fortress that we can...
00:09:06.380 So he's already now saying that Mark Carney was also a bad negotiator
00:09:09.820 and he was negotiating a bad deal.
00:09:11.780 And we would have had that bad deal if Doug Ford hadn't Leroy Jenkins-ed into the room
00:09:16.560 and just started going off about Ronald Reagan metaphorically in his ad campaign.
00:09:22.520 No.
00:09:23.160 Okay.
00:09:23.740 I agree that Carney was negotiating a bad deal.
00:09:27.340 Also, I don't think Doug Ford knows how to get to a good deal.
00:09:31.520 You're not going to get to a good deal as Canada,
00:09:33.800 with a smaller economy and population,
00:09:35.980 like disproportionately smaller economically in terms of our power,
00:09:39.820 even two per capita.
00:09:41.500 Our economic per capita power is worse than the U.S.
00:09:43.840 We were not going to be able to run an ad like that
00:09:46.660 and force the Americans into signing a better deal.
00:09:51.040 You're going to get to a better deal with the Americans
00:09:53.200 by engineering a win-win scenario for Donald Trump.
00:09:58.020 Because Donald Trump has the midterm elections coming up.
00:10:01.180 You're not going to have a deal that doesn't make him look good
00:10:04.100 in front of his own population.
00:10:05.720 You can still get something that's good for Canada,
00:10:07.600 but you have to properly frame it.
00:10:09.820 Not running advertisements saying,
00:10:11.420 yeah, he's a fake conservative.
00:10:13.080 See, Ronald Reagan basically said it.
00:10:15.380 It's so stupid.
00:10:18.160 But now we need to bring in David Eby into the story,
00:10:22.780 because he also massively messed up.
00:10:25.720 So I'm going to go over as well and look up a clip of 1BC leader,
00:10:31.320 Dallas Brody, going after him and his government in the legislature.
00:10:36.040 I, of course, work for 1BC in the legislature in British Columbia.
00:10:39.320 Right now I'm in my studio in Alberta.
00:10:41.360 But Dallas Brody had already preemptively said that Doug Ford just got slapped around.
00:10:45.680 You think you're going to run your own ad and have a different outcome?
00:10:48.420 And so Eby, though, even after Ford was told to pull his ad,
00:10:54.420 started talking tough about how he was going to run his own advertisement.
00:10:58.440 And I got to give a shout out to Dan Cameron here,
00:11:01.460 because he does a great job editing together some clips here
00:11:05.000 and just demonstrating the comedy of the whole situation of Eby talking tough
00:11:11.860 and then having to back down on his ad.
00:11:13.820 Because Carney obviously was going to beat him to death with a shoe
00:11:17.420 if he decided to run his own anti-Trump ad
00:11:20.880 after Trump already got mad at the first one.
00:11:23.560 Again, people could say, well, who cares if Donald Trump gets mad?
00:11:27.720 Well, you can say that he shouldn't be mad about it
00:11:31.240 or that he's wrong about tariffs.
00:11:33.140 That doesn't change the reality of us needing to form a win-win deal
00:11:38.080 in order to get something across the finish line.
00:11:40.860 Slapping him is very anti-win-win.
00:11:43.820 B.C. Premier David Eby says the province will go ahead
00:11:48.280 with its own anti-tariff ads aimed at the American public.
00:11:52.480 First of all, let me say that I support unambiguously
00:11:56.520 Premier Ford's advertisements in the United States.
00:12:00.520 It is absolutely essential that we talk to Americans
00:12:03.700 about the implications of tariffs.
00:12:05.540 By the way, I love that he's saying that
00:12:09.520 next to Federal Attorney General John Frazier,
00:12:13.160 who obviously is very uncomfortable
00:12:14.800 because Eby is saying he endorses the Ford ads
00:12:17.660 he's going to go along with his own
00:12:19.280 in front of somebody from the government
00:12:21.520 who just told Doug Ford to stop doing it.
00:12:24.320 Canada, that's why I pulled everything.
00:12:27.200 Canada, they wrote a...
00:12:28.780 They did a crooked ad.
00:12:30.960 They knew it was Ronald Reagan loves tariffs.
00:12:35.160 Hi, Prime Minister McKenzie Gray with Global News.
00:12:37.320 Did you apologize to Donald Trump about Ontario's anti-tariff ad?
00:12:40.340 I did.
00:12:41.720 I did apologize to the President.
00:12:44.060 The President was offended by the act or by the ad, rather.
00:12:48.160 And it's not something I would have done,
00:12:50.680 which is to put in place that advertisement.
00:12:56.060 And so I apologize to him.
00:12:58.540 Up next is Monica Gull, City News.
00:13:01.400 Thank you.
00:13:01.840 A question for Minister LeBlanc.
00:13:03.700 B.C. is set to roll out its own sort of anti-tariff ads
00:13:07.640 targeting the U.S.
00:13:08.920 Given the reaction after Ontario did its own ads,
00:13:13.060 the talks with the U.S. have stopped right now.
00:13:16.080 The ads were pulled.
00:13:17.520 Are there any concerns that the federal government has
00:13:20.040 with B.C. doing its own ads?
00:13:22.160 Is this something that maybe the two of you spoke about today?
00:13:24.560 And did you maybe even ask B.C. to rethink rolling out those ads?
00:13:28.940 I love how dead inside David Eby looks
00:13:31.720 while this question is being asked.
00:13:34.220 Oh, why, if it isn't the consequences
00:13:36.480 of my own actions coming back for me,
00:13:38.600 you know, I was talking tough
00:13:40.220 in a scenario where, you know,
00:13:43.020 my mouth was trying to write checks
00:13:45.620 that I couldn't actually back up.
00:13:47.520 And now he is in the situation
00:13:48.860 where he's about to have to admit
00:13:49.900 that Carney told him to desist.
00:13:51.960 Thanks.
00:13:52.440 I'll start this one.
00:13:53.660 We did have a conversation
00:13:55.080 about the advertisements today.
00:13:56.780 We will not be running the ads.
00:14:01.780 And I'll turn it over to Minister LeBlanc.
00:14:06.000 Premier, thank you.
00:14:06.860 I don't think I can add anything to Premier.
00:14:09.560 I think just answered the question.
00:14:13.180 Well, thank you for Dan Cameron
00:14:14.760 for making that video.
00:14:16.700 I'll link his account in the description below
00:14:19.000 for you guys to go look at.
00:14:20.220 I thought it was a very well edited video
00:14:23.020 of, you know, of Ford running the ads,
00:14:26.820 having to take them down because of Carney
00:14:28.860 and then Carney forcing Eby to take them down
00:14:31.200 after he talked tough and acted like
00:14:33.320 he was going to be able to get this one
00:14:34.400 across the finish line.
00:14:35.840 But I'm going to go search for actually now
00:14:38.080 Dallas Brody calling out Eby
00:14:40.920 even before he did this
00:14:42.380 because this was an obvious conclusion.
00:14:45.860 We always knew that this is how
00:14:47.440 was going to end up.
00:14:48.860 They really think that they were just
00:14:50.280 going to let them run their own ads
00:14:52.420 after they forced Doug Ford to stop them
00:14:54.900 because it makes it even worse
00:14:56.200 when you're doing it.
00:14:58.420 When you start doing it
00:14:59.900 after someone else was told not to do it,
00:15:01.900 it's worse than the original person.
00:15:04.420 Check this out.
00:15:05.300 So this is one BC leader,
00:15:07.760 Dallas Brody,
00:15:08.780 calling out the BC government
00:15:10.300 for obviously preparing to do something stupid
00:15:13.160 and that has now been proven
00:15:15.100 to be stupid.
00:15:16.560 that it was stupid to ever plan
00:15:18.000 to do this in the first place.
00:15:19.400 He threw a rock at Donald Trump
00:15:20.900 and got bulldozed.
00:15:22.940 Ontario Premier Doug Ford
00:15:24.320 antagonized President Trump
00:15:25.720 by running attack ads
00:15:26.940 against him in the United States.
00:15:30.060 As a result,
00:15:31.300 Trump raised tariffs by 10%
00:15:33.900 and ended all trade talks with Canada.
00:15:37.880 Having humiliated himself,
00:15:39.660 Ford pulled the ads,
00:15:40.980 but the damage is done.
00:15:43.180 It was a reckless move.
00:15:44.640 But unfortunately,
00:15:46.360 Mr. Speaker,
00:15:47.000 not to be outdone by Mr. Ford,
00:15:49.060 our Premier is even more reckless.
00:15:52.000 He's now launching his own
00:15:53.660 anti-Trump attack ads in the US.
00:15:56.980 These ads give Trump an excuse
00:15:58.860 to retaliate with even more tariffs
00:16:01.080 against BC
00:16:01.780 when we're already hurting.
00:16:04.800 Mr. Speaker,
00:16:05.660 is the Premier's personal hatred
00:16:07.560 for Donald Trump
00:16:08.760 more important
00:16:09.600 than our economic safety?
00:16:11.160 Mr. Jobs and economic growth.
00:16:16.080 And of course,
00:16:16.900 the Premier couldn't answer it himself.
00:16:18.340 And what you'll notice
00:16:18.940 is that Ravi Kallon here
00:16:20.680 trying to defend this
00:16:22.840 or trying to answer Dallas's question
00:16:24.420 clearly has just no energy
00:16:26.740 because he probably already knew
00:16:29.360 what David Eby was doing.
00:16:30.600 It was stupid.
00:16:31.300 I've always heard that Ravi Kallon
00:16:32.660 does not like David Eby very much.
00:16:34.900 And getting up to defend him,
00:16:36.640 there was not a lot of passion.
00:16:38.140 Thank you so much,
00:16:55.020 and impact workers and families
00:16:56.580 in our communities.
00:16:58.060 We don't need to watch
00:17:00.980 the rest of this,
00:17:01.720 but there is zero energy.
00:17:04.180 And that's very telling
00:17:05.340 because if you've ever seen
00:17:07.020 Dallas ask a question
00:17:08.560 to the BCNDP government
00:17:10.480 in the past,
00:17:11.420 they go just so hot so fast.
00:17:14.440 You're a racist.
00:17:15.540 You're a something phobic
00:17:16.820 or whatever.
00:17:17.880 You hate this group or what.
00:17:19.620 They go all out.
00:17:21.040 You're a stupid maple mega,
00:17:23.480 blah, blah, blah.
00:17:24.080 Like they've never maybe not
00:17:25.180 said those specific words,
00:17:26.260 but they always go
00:17:27.540 so aggressively
00:17:29.020 at Dallas Brody
00:17:30.620 in their answers.
00:17:32.140 And on this one,
00:17:32.900 Ravi comes out and he's like,
00:17:33.980 well,
00:17:35.540 we know it's the duty
00:17:37.360 of all provinces
00:17:38.360 to make the case
00:17:39.640 to America.
00:17:40.560 If it's so vital,
00:17:41.700 like he said,
00:17:42.340 to make the case to Americans,
00:17:43.460 why aren't you doing it?
00:17:44.840 Why not?
00:17:45.960 If it's so vital,
00:17:47.620 why are you guys
00:17:48.760 not running the ads
00:17:49.900 that you've probably
00:17:50.480 already created
00:17:51.360 just because Mark Carney
00:17:52.960 told you not to?
00:17:54.180 Why, is Mark Carney your boss?
00:17:56.040 Well, no,
00:17:56.500 it was because it was
00:17:56.980 an obviously stupid idea.
00:17:58.820 And then Carney
00:17:59.800 effectively saved David Eby
00:18:01.560 from himself
00:18:02.320 by being, you know,
00:18:04.080 the bad cop
00:18:04.840 to come into the room
00:18:05.460 saying, please don't do that
00:18:06.820 because if David
00:18:07.860 just desisted himself,
00:18:09.100 he'd look weak.
00:18:09.900 So he had to pretend
00:18:10.760 to be kind of strong
00:18:11.680 and then make it that
00:18:12.600 Carney's telling him no.
00:18:14.520 Maybe they never
00:18:15.080 even made the ads.
00:18:16.120 Maybe they always do.
00:18:17.080 They're going to get
00:18:17.540 shut down,
00:18:18.200 but in front of their own base,
00:18:19.280 they need to look like
00:18:20.180 they were going to actually,
00:18:21.380 you know,
00:18:21.500 we are going to be
00:18:22.060 super elbows up
00:18:23.240 and go after Donald Trump
00:18:24.580 where it hurts.
00:18:25.960 Well, it didn't actually happen.
00:18:27.460 And all this
00:18:28.120 was extremely predictable,
00:18:30.060 which makes it very funny.
00:18:32.320 Anyways,
00:18:33.240 well, with that being said,
00:18:35.260 thank you guys
00:18:35.860 for watching this episode
00:18:37.200 of the show.
00:18:37.920 It's not really episodes.
00:18:38.860 I just kind of do one-offs.
00:18:40.040 Thank you for watching
00:18:40.820 this one-off of the channel.
00:18:43.260 And, you know,
00:18:44.040 make sure to like,
00:18:44.740 share, subscribe,
00:18:45.380 do all that fantastic stuff.
00:18:47.320 What do you think
00:18:48.000 Canada should be doing
00:18:48.900 if we actually want
00:18:49.820 a proper trade deal
00:18:50.980 in my perspective,
00:18:52.340 from my perspective?
00:18:53.660 It's kind of like
00:18:54.560 what Pierre Polyev
00:18:55.740 has been saying
00:18:56.300 that you have to negotiate
00:18:57.440 from place of strength.
00:18:58.520 And that sounds
00:18:59.060 very generic,
00:18:59.720 but it's kind of true
00:19:02.220 that if you want
00:19:03.320 to get a better deal,
00:19:04.140 you need to make
00:19:04.800 your own economy
00:19:06.100 threatening to the Americans
00:19:07.580 in terms of
00:19:08.680 not just putting up
00:19:09.620 counter tariffs,
00:19:10.440 but lowering your own taxes,
00:19:12.060 lowering your own regulations,
00:19:13.500 making it so that
00:19:14.500 maybe American firms
00:19:15.640 want to come up to Canada.
00:19:16.820 And then maybe
00:19:17.620 the Trump administration
00:19:18.420 will want to negotiate.
00:19:19.680 Maybe you can give
00:19:20.660 some concessions.
00:19:21.440 You can make some demands.
00:19:22.560 But we don't do that.
00:19:24.140 It's so pathetic.
00:19:25.860 I keep using that word,
00:19:27.000 but it's just the only word
00:19:28.520 I can oftentimes think about
00:19:29.740 when I'm thinking of
00:19:30.600 how the liberals
00:19:31.260 have been trying
00:19:31.780 to negotiate
00:19:32.400 with the Americans.
00:19:33.920 They won't talk
00:19:34.400 about supply management.
00:19:35.340 They won't talk
00:19:35.780 about Canadian media laws.
00:19:36.960 They won't talk
00:19:37.400 about other Canadian tariffs
00:19:39.020 and duties
00:19:39.520 that are on the Americans.
00:19:41.100 We have no ability
00:19:42.460 to negotiate
00:19:43.020 because we won't talk
00:19:43.980 about any of the things
00:19:44.740 that the Americans
00:19:45.180 care about.
00:19:46.180 And I'm not saying
00:19:47.240 give them everything
00:19:47.840 they want.
00:19:48.720 I'm saying they want
00:19:49.640 some of this
00:19:50.020 and we want some of that.
00:19:51.280 So let's figure out
00:19:51.920 how to make this a win-win.
00:19:52.920 And it's basic stuff, people.
00:19:56.900 Anyways, well,
00:19:58.820 with that being said,
00:20:00.340 finally, I'll see you guys
00:20:02.040 all next time.
