00:00:00.000 Hey guys, Wyatt Claypool here, and welcome back to the National Telegraph YouTube channel.
00:00:06.540 We have some good news on the CBC front today.
00:00:10.380 We have that crazy prank show that they were trying to put together getting put on pause after it was exposed
00:00:17.340 that they were effectively just trying to humiliate and harass people through an entrapment scheme.
00:00:23.700 This, of course, was that thing that Dr. Francis Widdowson and Lindsay Shepard ended up exposing after it happened to them.
00:00:32.200 But apparently, this was also happening to RCMP officers, as was mentioned in the headline here from Brian Lilly,
00:00:40.300 breaking CBC hits pause on the controversial satirical show that targeted Mounties and conservatives for humiliation.
00:00:48.880 Yeah, this whole thing was obviously a bad idea from the beginning, but the problem is inside both the CBC and APTN, the Aboriginal People's Television Network, they are so ideologically left-wing, they couldn't see what the problem was with lying to people, telling them that they were going to be on a TV show to discuss issues around residential schools and Kamloops and land title,
00:01:16.260 And then simply having people dump boxes of children's shoes in front of them and having John A. McDonald lookalikes say racist things in front of them, which by implication for some reason means that the person that they tricked to be on the show must also be racist.
00:01:33.680 This entire thing is just a massive demonstration that not only is the CBC very biased towards the left, but they're also extremely uncreative.
00:01:44.960 this entire thing obviously wasn't a good show, but simply because it was hitting their right
00:01:51.380 ideological notes, apparently it was allowed to go forward. Now, the CBC is going to try and pretend
00:01:58.280 that this wasn't their show necessarily. Yes, they were sponsoring the show along with APTN,
00:02:05.560 but it was a different production company working on it, even though it's been proven already
00:02:11.360 that they were filming some of it in the CBC studio in Vancouver.
00:02:16.060 Yes, other parts of it were filmed off-site,
00:02:18.720 but they had been doing things like punking RCMP officers
00:02:22.720 by bringing them into a CBC studio with a fake studio audience
00:02:28.360 to then, I guess, mock the police,
00:02:31.640 pretend that the police are racist or something like that.
00:02:34.860 The whole thing was just absolutely absurd.
00:02:37.860 I just want to move on to the comments that Lindsay Shepard had made
00:02:40.960 in the aftermath of this pause being announced she says they have paused production on the
00:02:48.040 vengeful cbc aptn prank show so that the cbc can review the footage that has been filmed so far
00:02:54.520 the cbc must be honest with themselves about what this project is a vehicle to shame people
00:03:00.800 in certain careers like policing and ridicule for heterodox views all using taxpayer dollars
00:03:06.440 when they decided to proceed with the show or not.
00:03:10.100 I call on the CBC to release a thorough statement telling us
00:03:14.260 what exactly they saw in the footage they reviewed once they have done so.
00:03:19.360 Speaking for myself, I don't mind if they air it.
00:03:22.040 I know the hatefulness of the producers will reveal itself.
00:03:26.320 Absolutely, if you saw the footage that Frances Widdowson released,
00:03:30.280 she just basically, after they had tried to quote-unquote prank her,
00:03:34.500 She got them to hand over her bag with her phone in it and then immediately started going live on Facebook and X to show what was going on.
00:03:44.700 And it's hilarious that that was all that it took to really blow up this whole thing.
00:03:49.380 Once people, once a little bit of sunlight got onto this project, the amount of outrage from the public was like truly massive.
00:03:57.120 Because it doesn't matter if you like Frances Whittowson and Lindsay Shepard or the RCMP or not. 0.59
00:04:02.800 i like all of them uh it was so obviously unethical what was going on lindsey shepard's
00:04:10.440 like in particular what they did to her was go string her along for months pretending that they
00:04:18.220 wanted to do a product uh tie-in with her book about john a mcdonald meant for children uh they
00:04:25.040 were going to make some sort of doll or action figure of john a mcdonald they were having her
00:04:30.300 on zoom meetings to discuss the details of what this whole thing could look like they even hired
00:04:36.560 her as a sort of fake employee to work on this stuff and then they came into her home to film
00:04:44.100 stuff with her and meet with her and then they had her go to vancouver just for the sake of then 1.00
00:04:51.260 trying to humiliate her by having the prototype of the doll done so that they could have it say 0.99
00:04:56.260 racist things when you like you press the button on it and then a john a mcdonald like caricature
00:05:02.380 uh actor came in to just start saying racist stuff in front of her what was the point of all this
00:05:08.880 they should be sued into the floor not just because of the the element of defamation and
00:05:16.180 entrapment but the fact that they deliberately wasted her time a cbc production prevented her
00:05:23.300 from maybe looking into other work she could be doing, maybe making videos on her YouTube channel,
00:05:29.180 you know, being productive. They were even wasting her own time as a mother, since obviously she 0.98
00:05:34.700 didn't have the time of day, or she had to take time away from her children in order to do this 1.00
00:05:41.520 nonsense. But whatever, I guess water under the bridge, because CBC has paused it. Anyways, I just
00:05:49.680 want to highlight this one thing that I mentioned in the comments here underneath what she said.
00:05:54.740 I just said, they should be legally required to allow the individuals they filmed to view the
00:05:59.600 footage. Obviously, a massive privacy violation has occurred here, and they can't simply sweep
00:06:05.560 it under the rug. And by the way, they've already admitted to wasting millions of dollars on this
00:06:11.540 project that seems to be nothing more than a political hit job. Now, I want to stop reading
00:06:15.860 there because I want to now go over to another post by Lindsey Shepard because she actually
00:06:21.700 got access to information from the government's own website to show that this had not just been
00:06:29.300 funded. It had been funded to the tune of millions and millions of dollars.
00:06:35.700 Lindsey Shepard here says a couple days ago the CBC and APTN prank show that is deceiving its
00:06:42.020 target through elaborate schemes to punish them for their views and humiliate them will cost 2.5
00:06:48.480 million dollars up to 5 million dollars it is likely mostly or entirely taxpayer money but the
00:06:55.340 producers are welcome to chime in about their funding so yeah um this whole project was called
00:07:02.140 counting who and it was being given and the money was being given to the yes men who apparently
00:07:07.240 back in the day used to do a you know comedy prank show where they would go after like rich
00:07:13.500 CEOs and whatnot and now they've upgraded to coming to Canada to take taxpayer money to try
00:07:20.820 and humiliate people who in fact don't have much power or money and are you know doing things for
00:07:27.200 principled reasons like Francis Whittowson believing in the truth wanting to tell people
00:07:32.200 about it, that was deemed worthy of ritualistic humiliation of these people. And they are getting
00:07:41.280 up to $5 million to do it. Now, if you know anything about the independent media business,
00:07:48.700 you'll know that even the low-end estimate, $2.5 million, is probably more money than Rebel News
00:07:56.520 and Juno News used to operate on a year combined.
00:08:01.880 Maybe Rebels more than that these days, and I don't know it,
00:08:04.920 but independent media is very cheap.
00:08:08.580 I do my show with a webcam and a microphone on a laptop,
00:08:12.860 and there's a lot of other news organizations,
00:08:15.040 although they might have better equipment,
00:08:17.180 invested a long time ago, and their yearly costs are very low.
00:08:21.020 But for some reason, these people need a quarter million dollars
00:08:26.040 at least up to half a, sorry, not quarter million, a quarter of 10 million, 2.5 million, up to $5
00:08:34.140 million to film pranks that they never thought through because these are not pranks. It is
00:08:40.120 simply humiliating people because what's the joke? You're going to waste my time bringing me on for
00:08:46.220 a fake interview and then be like, ha, made you look. I'm actually about to dump a bunch of
00:08:50.960 children's shoes in front of you. What do you think about that? I just dumped a bunch of children's
00:08:56.020 shoes in front of you, I bet you feel very racist and embarrassed right now because angry Native
00:09:01.900 people walked onto the set to stare daggers at you after having dumped the shoes. It's like, okay,
00:09:09.760 and what's the point of any of this? But apparently this is some big gotcha and we just don't
00:09:15.140 understand how hilarious it is or whatever. This is a fantastic reason to defund the CBC.
00:09:22.540 Now, I know that the Conservative Party of Canada is on this thing about the snowbirds being cancelled and all that. Now, that's not really where my heart lies in terms of political issues. They can still pursue this, but the CPC, the Conservative Party of Canada, needs to get on this issue.
00:09:41.760 The fact that this, if the Conservatives no longer want to argue for a full defunding of the CBC, which they should argue for, at least say that they should have their budget cut in half, because it's very obvious that their budget is full of bloat when they required that much money, up to $5 million, to film what looked like the worst prank show I've ever seen in my life.
00:10:08.800 This is not like Borat, because even though I also don't find Borat funny, I know other people find it funny, I don't. At least Borat's kind of like voluntary. He's going up to people as a wacky character and he's seeing how people react to the wacky character.
00:10:23.780 He's not getting you for months on end to deliberately waste your time thinking that you got a new job just to pull the rug out from under you at the end of the day, with the punchline being you're racist with no evidence whatsoever. 0.92
00:10:39.520 Again, what they did to the RCMP officers is truly disgusting. I've heard that one of them is a fairly prominent YouTuber, but the other ones were not prominent YouTubers, and they decided that retired RCMP officers were going to be the ideal target to trying to mock Canadian history.
00:11:01.200 let's just bring on some random RCMP officers to try and humiliate them because that's good
00:11:07.780 television. So yeah, they paused this project. They're going to pretend that it has nothing to
00:11:14.020 do with them, but it obviously has everything to do with them. The entire project's name was
00:11:19.340 Counting Coup in like a reference to basically a humiliation ritual from Native people against 0.97
00:11:27.360 other tribes. I'm pretty sure the CBC, probably from asking a few questions, could have figured
00:11:32.580 out what was going on and said no to the entire project. But they're going to play dumb. They're 0.99
00:11:39.120 just going to play dumb about it. But again, this is why the CBC needs to be defunded. Anyways, 0.97
