00:00:00.000 Hey guys, Wyatt Claypool here, and welcome back to the National Telegraph YouTube channel.
00:00:06.200 Now, I'm never that blown away whenever Prime Minister Mark Carney says something nasty and
00:00:11.320 horrible, but this situation was really gross once I give you enough background to realize
00:00:17.720 how hypocritical it is. So, there was, at the LaGuardia Airport in New York, a plane crash
00:00:24.760 involving an Air Canada flight that slammed into a fire truck that was not where it was supposed to
00:00:30.520 be, resulting in the deaths of two pilots who were flying the plane. Now, Mark Carney apparently is
00:00:37.120 making it about himself by trying to use two pilots' deaths to go after the Air Canada CEO
00:00:44.920 for reasons of the French language, because when he did a condolence message as somebody who does
00:00:51.500 not speak good french he just delivered it in english and because one of the pilots was french
00:00:57.120 this means that carney is now going to skewer the ceo this is making two men's deaths about yourself
00:01:05.960 but it's going to get worse from here i'm about to show you the tape of him talking to reporters
00:01:10.900 i also want to hit at the conservatives a little bit for going along with this garbage
00:01:15.880 Do not follow the lead here. It's gross. But before we get into the footage, I just quickly
00:01:21.540 want to remind you guys, if you like the show, make sure to leave a like on this video, subscribe
00:01:26.100 if you are not yet a subscriber, consider hitting the join button and making a small monthly
00:01:30.960 contribution, and of course leave a comment on what you think about this story. But now let's
00:01:36.900 get to the CPAC footage of Carney being scrummed in the hallway of Parliament, and then we will
00:01:41.900 talk a little bit more about some background on the story and something else the liberals recently
00:01:47.440 did that makes this whole thing disgustingly hypocritical more already more disgusting
00:01:53.040 than them already using the deaths of pilots for their own political gain
00:01:56.960 now to to be clear he first delivered his statement in french and now he's doing in
00:02:07.360 english but obviously we don't need to hear him do it in french first as we are mainly not french
00:02:11.740 speakers on this channel. First, I want to repeat my sincere condolences to the families, to the
00:02:20.480 friends, to the work colleagues of the two young pilots, Mr. Foray and Mr. Gunter, of Air Canada,
00:02:31.760 whose actions saved lives. You know, the first job of the government of Canada is to work with
00:02:38.260 american colleagues and this is happening there's full cooperation close cooperation working with
00:02:43.220 our american colleagues to determine how this tragedy happened and to take steps all necessary
00:02:48.980 steps to prevent any repetition in the future but you know that said um we live as i just said in uh
00:02:56.980 in a bilingual country we proudly live in a bilingual country
00:03:01.300 and companies like air canada particularly have a responsibility to always communicate
00:03:06.740 in both official languages regardless of the situation uh i'm very disappointed in as others
00:03:13.860 are rightly so uh in uh this unilingual uh message of um of the ceo of air canada in it
00:03:23.540 doesn't matter the circumstance but particularly in these circumstances
00:03:27.780 lack of judgment a lack of compassion lack of compassion it's a lack of compassion that a ceo
00:03:34.980 who ended up becoming the ceo of a company where apparently you know bilingualism is required in
00:03:41.780 some way it is a lack of compassion that at the age of 60 this man is not going to learn perfect
00:03:48.580 french and is not comfortable in delivering statements in french he's acting like he's
00:03:54.340 somehow being the morally responsible one no he's not he's being morally irresponsible i don't think
00:04:00.660 that anyone actually cared about this yes there were complaints apparently sent in from french
00:04:06.740 speakers in quebec that he did not actually do the statement in french and they were they have
00:04:12.260 complained to some commissioner who takes in complaints about you know bilingualism not being
00:04:16.940 followed stringently enough people died um wait a little bit give them a reminder or something like
00:04:24.500 that even then it's a condolence message from a guy who doesn't speak good french there were
00:04:29.120 subtitles added for French speakers. I don't think even the families were concerned about this. The
00:04:34.640 only people pretending to be deeply concerned about this are the Liberals, because they want
00:04:39.900 to win the Terrebonne by-election. They want to win the Terrebonne riding that they only won by
00:04:44.700 one vote in the last federal election that got recalled. And to one-up the Bloc Québécois,
00:04:50.100 they're making a massive deal about this. This is all electoral politics for Mark Carney.
00:04:55.520 um and um as you know the uh the committee of official languages has uh has summoned uh the
00:05:03.680 ceo to appear before it i will follow his comments uh closely and comments which i would expect in
00:05:09.720 due course from uh now what he's actually doing here is trying to put pressure on the ceo to step
00:05:18.240 down he is trying to basically behead the ceo of air canada as a campaign stunt in order to
00:05:25.500 try and you know i guess ingratiate himself with quebec voters right before the terrible and by
00:05:30.520 election now i want to go over to the conservatives reaction to this because i think it is also
00:05:34.960 i think it's the right thing to actually call this out too i didn't like how they ended up
00:05:39.960 handling the situation so we will just quickly jump over to some conservative reactions here and
00:05:46.540 then i want to read a couple articles that have pertinent information for the situation
00:05:51.160 i'm going to manitoba is holding back on the pst on certain food because they are so worried so
00:05:57.760 upset i was there for all eight hours of the world heritage site rito i'm trying to get to
00:06:02.740 the right clip i always hate when this happens this is a good time for me to pause get to the
00:06:06.420 right clip and then bring it back to you guys okay here we go i found it i don't like the way
00:06:12.380 that cpac sometimes labels videos the title of this video was conservatives reacting to the air
00:06:17.300 Canada CEO thing. But the actual clip of one of them talking
00:06:20.120 about it is at the very end here. So here is a conservative
00:06:23.660 MP answering the question.
00:06:26.960 What do you think of the controversy over Mr.
00:06:31.580 unacceptable.
00:06:34.700 Could you elaborate?
00:06:38.000 Because it's it's repeat the situation. A long time when he
00:06:43.880 He came in the committee. He came to respect the engagement.
00:06:49.880 He told me I will learn the French language.
00:06:55.880 Don't forget this company is a must to respect the official language bill.
00:07:06.880 But this demonstration again, it's different.
00:07:12.880 Sorry for my English.
00:07:15.540 If anything, sorry, this proves the point as to why the CEO didn't deliver it in English or French.
00:07:22.860 This guy's English is not that great.
00:07:24.760 Now, I don't slag him.
00:07:25.760 He's from Quebec, probably from a riding where the vast majority of people speak French.
00:07:30.040 We shouldn't be beating up on him.
00:07:31.480 But, you know, shame on conservatives for going along with this line from Mark Carney's liberals.
00:07:35.440 But I just want to read you guys a couple articles from the Globe and Mail, just little sections of them.
00:07:40.680 one first about the CEO and why this has been so unfair to him and then an article about something
00:07:46.680 else involving an air disaster that makes what the Kearney liberals are doing completely gross
00:07:52.360 involving the Islamic government of Iran killing Canadians. So here the title of this article
00:07:59.080 written by Andrew Miller reads in Air Canada's French Fallout it is unfairly treated as both
00:08:04.820 a private and public entity. So down here it says, two years ago, TD Bank admitted to facilitating
00:08:11.580 money laundering on a scale that drew more than $3 billion in criminal penalties. Naturally,
00:08:17.360 its CEO at the time, Bharat Masarani, apologized for the firm's misconduct. He did so only in
00:08:23.820 English. If you don't remember his choice of language being a national scandal, that's because
00:08:28.360 it wasn't. It's an intrusive comparison to this. It's an instructive comparison to this week's
00:08:33.740 events. Michael Rousseau, Air Canada's CEO, released a four-minute condolence video following
00:08:38.500 a fatal runway collision at LaGuardia Airport, one that killed two pilots, including a French-speaking
00:08:43.820 Quebecer. But Mr. Rousseau only spoke two words of French, one at the beginning and one at the
00:08:48.760 end of his statement. In response, the prime minister said he expected an explanation from
00:08:53.560 the airline's board. A parliamentary committee has summoned Mr. Rousseau to appear before it.
00:08:57.540 And as of Wednesday morning, the federal language watchdog's office had received nearly 800
00:09:03.000 complaints. What makes Air Canada different? The answer is that the airline started out as a crown
00:09:09.060 corporation, and when it was privatized in 1988, the sale had strings attached. The Air Canada
00:09:14.200 Public Participation Act preserved several public interest obligations, including the continued
00:09:19.980 application of the Official Languages Act. The airline did not emerge from the crown's
00:09:25.200 ownership as an ordinary private company. It emerged as something stranger, a private firm
00:09:30.520 carrying the statutory obligations of a federal institution. And so I just want this last section
00:09:37.040 is pertinent just to give you a little more flavor to the story, then we're going to move on to the
00:09:40.720 Iran part of this all. Down here it says, this isn't the first time that arrangement has produced
00:09:47.240 a flap. In November 2021, Rousseau gave his first major speech as CEO to the Montreal Chamber of
00:09:53.300 Commerce, almost entirely in English, asked why he hadn't learned French after 14 years in Montreal.
00:09:58.040 he replied that he had managed fine without it. Over 2,000 complaints followed. Then Prime
00:10:02.560 Minister Justin Trudeau called the situation unacceptable, and Mr. Rousseau was summoned
00:10:07.120 before a parliamentary committee where he apologized in labored French and pledged to
00:10:11.580 improve. In December 2024, he told another committee that learning French was difficult
00:10:16.400 at his age. This week is the third act of a flair Rousseau, or whatever. That's probably some French
00:10:23.320 little phrase there, and I cannot read it because I cannot speak French at all. Mr. Rousseau can
00:10:28.600 speak his French 10,000 times better than me because I know basically nothing. This is just so
00:10:34.620 dumb. Can we just be clear? The forced bilingualism of Canada is dumb. I'm sorry, is Mr. Rousseau the
00:10:44.580 best CEO for Air Canada or not? Are we really saying that Air Canada should have a lesser CEO
00:10:50.660 because that CEO may be able to articulate their aura quality leadership in French.
00:10:56.540 It's ridiculous.
00:10:57.620 And we're doing this after the death of two people,
00:11:00.140 like literally less than 24 hours after the deaths.
00:11:03.880 We have the liberals trying to basically use this whole situation to win votes.
00:11:09.100 No doubt the Bloc Québécois is also doing it.
00:11:11.440 But why are the conservatives getting involved?
00:11:14.380 They can even say technically Air Canada does have the obligation,
00:11:18.040 but this is not the time and they need to settle down.
00:11:20.120 The Conservatives aren't even competitive in the Terrebonne riding. Just back off of this issue, guys. It's not going to make Carney look good in the long run. And now we're going to have that other shoe drop right now. This actually came out basically the same day or the day after the crash had happened.
00:11:36.560 Here is an article from Stephanie Levitz. It's also from the Globe and Mail. The headline reads,
00:11:44.260 Ottawa disbands centralized task force seeking justice for victims of planes shot down by Iran.
00:11:50.920 This was published just on March 24, 2026. Now down here it says,
00:11:57.280 Global Affairs Canada has disbanded an internal task force coordinating the government's effort
00:12:02.360 to support and seek justice for the victims of Ukraine International Airlines flight
00:12:06.720 shot down by Iran six years ago. 55 Canadian citizens, 30 permanent residents, and 53 others
00:12:13.020 en route to Canada were among the 176 people on flight PS-752. All on board were killed when
00:12:20.400 Iran's anti-aircraft missile struck the plane shortly after takeoff on January 8th, 2020.
00:12:26.100 Now, this whole situation was deliberate. They tried to come up with all the excuses,
00:12:30.740 oh we had our anti-aircraft missile system malfunction and it shot the plane down that
00:12:36.480 doesn't make any sense why would you have an anti-aircraft missile system set to automatic
00:12:41.680 like they tried to say right nearby an airport where there are a lot of random targets that it
00:12:47.360 might lock onto and fire in fact they actually found out later that they fired two times at the
00:12:53.160 plane and it actually required manual oversight for it to fire the shots Iran was basically just
00:12:59.740 strutting around and peacocking by murdering a bunch of Canadians, knowing that Justin Trudeau
00:13:05.040 at the time would have done nothing. In fact, he then bowed to the former foreign affairs minister
00:13:10.040 of Iran because that's how pathetic Justin Trudeau was. And Mark Carney, in equally pathetic fashion,
00:13:16.140 is now getting rid of the task force to try and get justice when right now Iran is actually
00:13:21.280 falling apart and you could actually potentially get payouts from that government. If they're
00:13:26.120 toppled you could probably require payments to the family members of people that were murdered but
00:13:31.700 now we're just silently getting rid of it that's insane it's a massive win to the Iranian government
00:13:36.740 that we're doing this and again do we not see the irony here that we have Carney trying to make a
00:13:43.660 big deal about bilingualism with the Air Canada CEO after the deaths of two pilots which is already
00:13:49.980 disgusting in and of itself at the same time he is letting down the families and the families of
00:13:55.360 Canadian citizens and permanent residents who were murdered by a terror entity. He just silently
00:14:01.560 stopped helping them. Doesn't give a parent. Maybe when they silently put it down, they said
00:14:07.340 that they're going to get rid of the task force, both in English and French and maybe Farsi too.
00:14:11.700 So now it's okay. But the Air Canada CEO, who obviously is not going to be able to learn great
00:14:17.840 English after the age of like 50, is going to be skewered. I don't even know how old the CEO is,
00:14:23.760 But it's just natural. It's harder to learn languages the older you get because, you know, it's just one of those things that it's for children, especially.
00:14:29.980 It's very easy to pick up new languages because, you know, you don't have these ingrained language biases in your mind of how you're supposed to speak and whatnot from speaking one language for so long.
00:14:39.520 We're going to skewer him for that. But no one is going to get skewered for what's going on here.
00:14:44.340 No doubt the Persian community in Canada is ticked off. But outside of that, no one's really going to speak about this.
00:14:49.720 I want to read a little bit further to give you some more background, then I'll make a few more comments on this.
00:14:55.020 So it says, the impact of the PS752 disaster reverberates in Ottawa even now,
00:15:00.080 with the incident being invoked repeatedly in recent weeks during debates on Canada's response to the current war in the region.
00:15:05.920 But the decision to shutter the task force was made prior to the onset of the Iran war,
00:15:10.400 as spokesperson for the Association of Families of PS752 victims told the Globe and Mail on Tuesday.
00:15:15.740 quote is disappointed but disappointing but not unexpected koresh dushan i can't pronounce names
00:15:22.820 i'm sorry said in an interview his fiancee was among the passengers killed in 2020 he said the
00:15:28.440 decision to end the task force was communicated to families in early march just days after the
00:15:32.860 launch of the u.s israel airstrikes on iran sparked a broader regional conflict uh mr dushanis said
00:15:40.300 global affairs canada acknowledged in its communications to family that the timing was
00:15:44.740 not ideal, but his effort to get the department to reconsider its decision did not bear fruit.
00:15:49.760 The task force was set up in February 2020 to oversee communications with the families of
00:15:53.960 victims and to work on Canada's efforts to seek accountability from Iran for the incident.
00:15:58.580 That included work to bring victims' families to Canada under various immigration policies,
00:16:03.580 as well as spearheading causes against Iran at the International Court of Justice and the
00:16:08.460 International Civil Aviation Organization. Both those cases remain in process.
00:16:13.980 So the cases haven't even been closed, but they closed the task force for the victims' families. Why? It doesn't surprise me the liberals did this. They are literally running a former NDP MPP, Dolly Begum, in the Scarborough South by-election. All of this always comes back to the by-elections going on. Dolly Begum is pro-terror. Let's not mince words. She is pro-terror.
00:16:38.800 If you go through all of her social media, I have had AI skim her entire social media. She has only made zero, actually, not even only one, only zero condemnations of a terrorist entity for a terror attack.
00:16:54.180 She has tut-tutted Hamas in the same post that she mostly starts off attacking the United States and Israel, but she has on at least seven occasions put out statements condemning Israel and the United States for actions in the Middle East.
00:17:07.500 and somehow at the same time that they're bringing on Dolly Begum and they're cozying
00:17:14.880 up to other far left radicals on foreign policy, they happen to be shutting down the victim task
00:17:21.160 force for the PS752 terror attack. Oh my goodness. But let's get mad at the Eric
00:17:28.320 Canada CEO guys. He didn't speak enough French. Disgusting. Horrible. Disgusting. That's all I
00:17:35.920 can really say at this point like the conservatives should be hammering the scarborough south by
00:17:41.740 election i don't care if it is a safe riding you put a good candidate in there the candidate in
00:17:47.980 university rosedale the conservatives are running frankly is not inspiring to me maybe he's fantastic
00:17:52.280 and i have to meet him but i find the conservative party oftentimes runs frankly boring people in
00:17:57.700 urban ridings as if they're just resigned to the fact that they can't win so let's just throw some
00:18:01.520 random mortgage broker in there. Run someone exciting. Run someone kind of eccentric who
00:18:06.340 gets attention. And that's what they need in Scarborough South. Someone who's going to
00:18:10.380 prosecute Dolly Begum for being a nutcase. Go after them. Actually make liberals uncomfortable
00:18:16.480 about voting for her because they should be uncomfortable about voting for her. She's a
00:18:20.760 terrible person. That is what the conservatives should be doing. Hit the liberals in Terrebonne.
00:18:26.960 Conservatives can't win that riding, but at least hurt the liberals in that riding by going after
00:18:31.040 them on this on this uh air canada situation let the bloc quebecois be stridently pro-bilingualism
00:18:38.000 hit the liberals for standing on the graves of two dead pilots for electoral gain that is what
00:18:43.160 they are doing here but anyways thank you guys for watching this video i will be back probably
00:18:48.500 later with a new video on a different subject matter there are so many big things happening
00:18:53.380 in canadian politics right now including british columbia politics where the bc conservatives just
00:18:58.760 lost an MLA because of a domestic assault charge that the rumor mill tells me was actually something
00:19:04.680 that dates back to January 2024, and they ignored it to let this guy run for them. You know, 1BC is
00:19:11.820 looking better by the day as all the bad decisions by the BC conservatives are now catching up to
00:19:16.840 them. Anyways, with that all being said, thank you guys for watching, and I'll see you all later.
