00:00:00.000Hey guys, Wyatt Claypool here, and welcome back to the National Telegraph YouTube channel.
00:00:06.200Prime Minister Mark Carney and the Federal Liberals' record in government so far has been not very good.
00:00:13.760But apparently, it's actually even worse in reality, because the books have been cooked on multiple files
00:00:19.880to try and make them look a little less incompetent than they actually are.
00:00:25.120from the economy to immigration, numbers that you have previously seen reported may not actually be
00:00:31.780accurate, and on the immigration file, I'm going to have to take back every compliment I have ever
00:00:37.560given the Carney liberals. They've not been doing amazing on immigration, but compared to like
00:00:42.800Justin Trudeau in 2023 and 2024, he had made some improvements. Until we got some updated numbers
00:00:50.620showing that actually the amount of TFWs in the country is higher than it's ever been before.
00:00:56.800We will be getting into that in just a second here, but first, I just want to remind you guys,
00:01:01.480if you like the show, make sure to leave a like on this video. Subscribe if you are not yet a

00:01:20.020Telegraph YouTube channel. But before we get into the immigration numbers, I want to start off with
00:01:25.120the economy. By the way, a great person to follow on X for economic analysis and other stats is
00:01:31.860Kirk Lubomov here. I rely on him quite a bit to put together these nice charts that he puts up.
00:01:37.240He says here, Canada's GDP warning. Most of Canada's GDP growth so far this year came from
00:01:45.080spring growth, and it's been declining since. August is below expectations. September advanced
00:01:51.360estimates is a contraction three months in a row of a slowdown and into contraction with record
00:01:59.640government spending. And record government spending is a very key thing to remember here
00:02:04.680because government spending gets put into the GDP too. So the Carney liberals can pump the GDP
00:02:11.540a bit by just jamming money into the economy, whether it's being used for something actually
00:02:16.720productive or not. I actually suspect that they like the Alto high-speed rail line,
00:02:22.440not just because Francois-Philippe Champagne, our finance minister's wife, happens to be
00:02:27.100the vice president of environment for Alto, but also because it gives them somewhere to put $90
00:02:32.520billion, create a bunch of fake jobs, and pump the GDP number to make it look like the Canadian
00:02:38.800economy is healthier than it is. But what you can see here is that the first part of the year,
00:02:44.200January, February, and March, this is where we had the first quarter GDP decline. We had a negative
00:02:51.4600.02 number in January. In February, it grew by 0.16% the economy. And in March, it fell by 0.15%.
00:03:01.880So overall, it wasn't much of a decline, but it was a decline. And really, economy should never
00:03:07.900be declining. There's no reason why you shouldn't be becoming more productive every quarter unless
00:03:13.080something absolutely like devastating happens to your country. And people can point to the trade
00:03:19.660war with the United States, but it only affects a portion of our products. And while it does hurt,
00:03:24.440if we actually reformed our fiscal and economic policies, we could probably actually grow in
00:03:30.280spite of a trade conflict, but the liberals don't want to get rid of any of their bad policies.
00:03:34.460But in April, May, and June, we actually had a pretty good to great growth number. 0.63% April is actually a great growth number. Now, remember, though, that is also compounded by the fact that we had bad months.
00:03:49.560So having a good month after several bad months is actually easier than having a good month after previous good months, since that all you have to do to grow in April is simply step out of the hole that had been created over the previous several months in the Canadian economy.
00:04:06.600But after we got past April, May, and June, we then had a July number where we only grew by 0.03%.
00:04:15.720And now, we've actually declined in August, despite the fact that August is considered peak employment month for the Canadian economy.
00:04:25.000You should have the most people working, the most productivity in August, and we declined.
00:04:31.040And in fact, that July number had to be estimated down from what previously they thought we were going to actually have in terms of growth, and now we're going to go into September for another contraction month, which is not surprising at all because we had massive job layoffs in September.
00:04:47.300And it looks like at the end of October here, we're also going to have another decline in jobs once again that is going to precipitate data coming out probably saying the economy shrunk in October as well.
00:05:01.900But now let's move on to this other chart that Kirk Lubomov posted. This is regarding job numbers that had to be estimated down in July, which is not great because previously July was being heralded as yet another month of strong jobs growth in Canada.
00:05:19.640Kirk Lubomov here says, Canada's payroll employment dropped by 49,600 jobs in August.
00:05:27.420Now, he's working with slightly lagging numbers.
00:05:30.380These are like the actual official numbers based on payroll employment, not just statistics Canada estimates.
00:05:38.160So he still doesn't have the September numbers quite yet, but they're likely to be down just as statistics Canada had shown.
00:05:44.020And it may even be worse than what statistics Canada said.
00:05:46.700But he says here, July's numbers have been revised from 26,100 new jobs to 15,700 job losses.
00:05:58.060Payroll employment is up 70.8K since December, but half of the growth lost in the last two months.
00:06:06.480So we have grown a little bit since December, but we've lost the vast majority of that growth over just the last two months alone.
00:06:14.740and that's not factoring in September, which supposedly is actually putting us into negative
00:06:19.720territory. By the way, all of the jobs created so far have pretty much all been out in Alberta.
00:06:26.200Like 80% of all the jobs that have been added to the Canadian economy on net have been put in
00:06:32.860by Alberta. So everything that Mark Carney had been previously trying to brag about
00:06:37.880is really just Daniel Smith's brag that he's stealing for himself.
00:06:42.160But look at this chart right here. Previously, we had added 59,000 jobs in April, 45,000 jobs in May, 20,000 in June, and previously in July it was 26,000, but it's been revised to negative 15.7.
00:07:00.540So notice how big that swing is there. That's an over 40,000 job swing from 26,000 added to 15,000 below, which makes you think, is August going to be estimated downwards also? Is September worse than we thought when the October jobs come out?
00:07:20.020Is it going to be an even steeper drop than we thought?
00:07:24.120Because previously, all these months have actually had to be estimated downwards a little bit.
00:07:28.940Because in some of these months, we thought we added 70,000 jobs, and it dropped to 59,000 jobs.
00:07:33.940We thought we added 30,000, and it dropped to 20,000.
00:07:36.300And in July, it was 26,000, and it's actually negative 15,000.
00:07:46.180Anyways, so that's the economy, or not all of the economy.
00:07:50.900But now let's move on to immigration, and then we want to talk a little bit about the budget here.
00:07:55.680So Pierre Polyev here is commenting on a post by Tristan Hopper over an article that he wrote.
00:08:01.640Polyev says, more temporary foreign workers, lower wages and lost jobs for Canadians.
00:08:07.360Mark Carney is only interested in profit and corporate power brokers at the expense of our working class.
00:08:12.200And Tristan Hopper here said, I was actually really surprised to discover that the number of foreign workers in Canada is higher than it's ever been.
00:08:22.480All Carney has done is slow the intake, and even that is still pretty high.
00:08:28.480So what's gone on here, and this is why I'm saying that the Liberals are cooking the books,
00:08:33.060is previously we had been getting reports showing that the Canadian population actually shrunk somewhat,
00:08:39.580that people have been exiting the country.
00:08:41.700And I believe that's based on a faulty assumption that because a visa has expired, ergo the person is now going to leave.
00:08:50.660Except that person's not going to leave if the liberals are just mass-renewing people's foreign worker visas.
00:09:00.680You can't do that if you're actually trying to reset our economy.0.81
00:09:04.920If you're trying to reset our job market, you can't keep renewing all the temporary foreign workers and allowing temporary foreign students to stay longer because they're allowed to work too.0.98
00:09:15.360They just can't work full-time jobs.0.98
00:09:17.280It's taking jobs away, especially from young Canadians who will work a minimum wage job if they're in university.1.00
00:09:24.620Now, if we actually got rid of a lot of the TFWs, I think we would actually start having job offers above minimum wage.1.00
00:09:31.080But a lot of these people just want a job.1.00
00:09:33.640But it's hard to compete with somebody who's on a temporary foreign worker visa who will line up all day long for every single job posting that there is.1.00
00:09:41.540A lot of these foreign students who will line up for everything simply because they absolutely have to,1.00
00:09:47.500where obviously their willingness to put up with bad working conditions and not great pay is going to out-compete many Canadian citizens trying to get those jobs themselves.0.76
00:09:57.140But I want to now bring you to what the numbers look like, because it's kind of startling just how different it is from what we had been seeing reported in the media and by the Liberal government.
00:10:08.780This is from Immigration Canada numbers, I believe.
00:10:13.240Yes, so IRCC public data page and related analysis shows that 1,550,215 people held only a work permit up from 1.43 million in August 2024.
00:10:28.360While new worker arrivals January-August 2026 were down 57% versus the same period in 24, IRCC notes that overall temporary resident levels lag new arrival trends because people already in Canada renew or extend under prior rules, and extensions are excluded from new arrival counts.
00:10:49.160well that's great well that's fantastic so it turns out that because people came in previously
00:10:57.600they're grandfathered into the the old rules where they can just endlessly renew and never leave i
00:11:04.640feel like if you are a temporary foreign worker the key word there should be temporary not
00:11:11.620technically you're temporary unless you do a really easy renewal every three years and then
00:11:16.360you can just kind of stay indefinitely. What are we doing? We have an extremely high unemployment
00:11:23.340rate in this country. It's like 6.5%. It's only like 4% right now in the United States. In Japan,
00:11:30.800it's like two. Other than I think France, Canada has the highest unemployment rate right now in
00:11:36.860the G7. Come on, people. Can we figure this out and actually figure out that, wow, if we don't
00:11:44.760keep flooding the market with artificial supply of workers, you will actually be able to lower
00:11:50.880unemployment by doing that. By restricting the artificial inflow of worker supply, you will
00:11:59.140start to lower the unemployment rate and allow young people especially to finally get jobs.
00:12:04.980Because the youth unemployment rate in Canada is like 13%. That's people trying to find jobs
00:12:10.440who can't find jobs. And I believe it's like male university students, it's like 23% of them
00:12:16.180can't find jobs at all because naturally a business would like to hire a full-time employee,
00:12:21.340not part-time employees. So finding those kind of, you know, highly sought after part-time jobs that
00:12:27.600allow you to be doing your studies and be working at the same time is like borderline impossible
00:12:32.640right now. But now I want to talk a little bit more about how the liberals have been cooking the
00:12:37.320books when it comes to their budget numbers. Now, I've previously talked about this, but on theme
00:12:42.620with the video, I do want to discuss how the carny liberals are basically just playing games0.93
00:12:48.900in order to pretend that they're more fiscally responsible than they really are. Right now,
00:12:53.780Canada is running a more than $70 billion deficit, but the liberals keep crowing about how we have
00:13:01.860balanced the budget. Well, we haven't balanced the budget, but we have balanced the operating
00:13:08.000budget of the government. The operating budget, in theory, is basically everything that gets
00:13:14.980paid out every year, repeating. It's not a bridge that you're building that once the bridge is built,
00:13:21.400obviously, other than maintenance costs, you're no longer having to front those heavy construction
00:13:27.160costs anymore. That's operating budget. It's all your employees. It's maintenance. It's general
00:13:33.380things that you have to be paying for every year. Capital costs are things like building a bridge,
00:13:39.580building a new military base, buying jets for the military, other things like that. Maybe the
00:13:46.040CRA needs some sort of upgrading to their systems, but it's a one-shot payment that you don't think
00:13:52.940you're going to have to do again for another 15 years. That's capital. And then I believe there's
00:13:57.860also some sort of like discretionary fund that sometimes gets counted for separately. Sometimes
00:14:03.200a government will have another six, seven billion dollars that's there just in case things come up,
00:14:08.120whatever. But the liberals have been acting like, well, we're actually more fiscally responsible
00:14:12.400than you think because we balance the operating budget, except their definition of operating
00:14:17.900budget basically reassigns so many things that are clearly operating as capital to lower the
00:14:24.500amount in the operating budget to pretend like, well, we're paying for everything that we expect
00:14:29.360to pay for every year. It's just the capital investments. Those are the things putting us
00:14:34.200in deficit. And once those are done, we can clear those off the docket. And in fact, they'll help
00:14:39.580grow the economy so they pay for themselves over time. But that's not what's happening.
00:14:44.020we are reassigning literally employees to capital we are basically any any employee associated with
00:14:51.680a capital budget even if they are going to be perpetually employed from here until the end of
00:14:55.780time they are still a part of capital based on the way the carny liberals are accounting it0.92
00:15:01.180it's so dumb and we will have the media not really push back on this at all i do think with all the
00:15:07.960scandals starting to pile up and all the bad economic news and really not many wins for carny0.98
00:15:13.560eventually this will break through into the mainstream media but you cannot underestimate
00:15:18.260how much the mainstream media's disinterest in the performance of the carny liberals
00:15:22.640is allowing them to keep their approval ratings and polling numbers quite high
00:15:27.120because in British Columbia we got a great example once the mainstream media turns on a government
00:15:32.280because they were all upset about David Eby calling the early election because I guess it
00:15:36.820ruffled their feathers as journalists also having to cover the municipal elections at the same time
00:15:40.760They actually borderline campaign for the BC conservatives, and there's a lot of people who, based on the vibes the media puts out, vote in that direction.
00:15:50.620And it's just so happened that they are willing to blame everything on Trump for Carney over the past year and a half.
00:15:57.460That's allowed Carney to maintain very high approval ratings, despite the fact that the underlying economic data, our immigration numbers, our just overall affordability numbers, are terrible.
00:16:09.900But the mainstream media always allows for panels to come on to, like, places like the CBC, who all agree that, really, Carney's doing a bang-up job outside of all the things that we're going to blame on Donald Trump.
00:16:21.300Well, what is he actually doing a good job on, though?
00:16:27.140Immigration was the one thing I would have given you.
00:16:29.560Okay, he's adjusted the immigration numbers down, that's good.0.85
00:16:33.020And while, yes, intake is lower, we're not actually chipping away at the main problem of too many people being in the country, especially people who really have no desire to integrate and assimilate into Canadian culture.0.93
00:16:56.280and I would actually argue there are many permanent residents here
00:16:59.920who probably should be stripped of their status and made to go home.0.99
00:17:03.680Not to be cruel, I don't like that guy, he better leave,1.00
00:17:06.960because there's too many PRs in this country, refugees, whatnot,1.00
00:17:12.200who rely on the government to get by and are not really here to enrich the country.0.92
00:17:16.840Not that they're like scheming and they're trying to deliberately undermine us as a country, but just people who got here and they really can't make ends meet and they rely on food banks and cash welfare systems and free health care in order to basically, you know, scrape by and they really can't make it in this economy.
00:17:36.980Just as if I moved to Liechtenstein or Luxembourg, some very high net worth country, I probably couldn't make it there. I probably couldn't make mortgage payments in Luxembourg. And guess what? If I went to Luxembourg, I wouldn't demand that they pay for me and give me free food, cash, welfare, and a bunch of other benefits that I've never paid into.
00:17:58.580That's something we need to crack down on.
00:18:00.300But it looks like the Carney Liberals not only haven't actually been reducing immigration in the way that we want,
00:18:07.300yes, the inflow is lower, but in order to make up for the inflow being lower,
00:18:11.580they're just boosting renewals massively in order to keep people who are already in the country from leaving.
00:18:18.520We need an outflow right now, but now Carney has been talking about actually increasing immigration again, increasing the inflow.
00:18:51.660And by the way, many new immigrants are actually instinctual conservatives on social issues overall. So it's always a mixed bag to rely on new Canadians being like, you know, dedicated liberal voters, not really how it works. But the thing is that what we have, though, is we have a lot of people who doesn't matter if they're that productive or not, they're technically adding in even a little bit of money into the economy, which boosts the GDP numbers.0.89
00:19:16.800What does Carney have a problem with right now?0.93
