00:00:00.000 I've got to admit, I'm actually kind of jealous of NDP leader Jagmeet Singh.
00:00:04.620 The man has the impressive ability to take no responsibility for his own actions,
00:00:09.280 just blames other people for the things he does, and doesn't feel bad for doing it like some sociopath.
00:00:15.360 The man walks into Parliament every single day and helps Justin Trudeau and the Liberals make life worse for Canadians,
00:00:21.800 and then he simply waltzes out of Parliament and then stands in front of a camera and says,
00:00:26.300 I can't believe the Liberals and Conservatives did that to people.
00:00:30.000 Jagmeet, it's you doing that to people.
00:00:32.860 It's such a trite point at this point, but you're literally in a government with Justin Trudeau.
00:00:37.020 Like, just watch this clip of him talking about housing and immigration
00:00:40.420 and pretending that this is just an issue of the Liberals and Conservatives not taking enough initiative
00:00:45.680 while he's in a minority government situation with Justin Trudeau.
00:00:49.480 It's ridiculous.
00:00:50.700 That instead of focusing on the solution of building more homes that we can afford,
00:00:54.120 we're seeing Liberals and Conservatives starting to blame immigration as the problem
00:00:58.100 when they should blame themselves for having not taken this seriously.
00:01:01.880 Liberals were in power for almost nine years.
00:01:03.240 They could have built affordable homes.
00:01:04.600 Before that, the Conservatives were in power.
00:01:06.560 Neither of them actually built affordable homes.
00:01:08.920 Both of them allowed affordable homes to be lost and were in this situation because they did not take this seriously.
00:01:14.000 And now we're living the consequences of their inaction.
00:01:16.500 Now, just a couple of things on that clip.
00:01:20.340 One, housing prices under Stephen Harper and the Conservative government were way better than they are today.
00:01:25.860 Housing prices have almost doubled since Harper was in around 2011-2015 during the majority government era.
00:01:32.760 So, no, this is not a Conservative problem.
00:01:35.880 And two, like, what do you mean?
00:01:37.540 Like, the Liberals and Conservatives haven't been serious enough about the issues.
00:01:41.180 They haven't been serious enough like me, Jagmeet Singh.
00:01:43.800 They need to wear more black turtlenecks like I, and maybe we could solve this problem.
00:01:48.300 They're just blaming immigrants for not having built enough houses.
00:01:52.280 Jagmeet, we cannot build enough houses to house more than 500,000 new immigrants a year.
00:01:58.620 And that's not counting temporary foreign workers and students.
00:02:02.540 It's insane that he thinks that this is something that we can just build our way out of building affordable homes.
00:02:07.940 Government-subsidized affordable homes are not going to remedy the situation.
00:02:12.280 Affordable homes that the government subsidize are usually the slowest built and most expensive.
00:02:17.840 And just because you give it to someone for, like, $400 a month doesn't mean that we provided an affordable home.
00:02:23.400 We actually gouged taxpayers and gave someone a deeply subsidized home.
00:02:27.720 But, Jagmeet Singh, what have you done over the past almost five years of being in government with Justin Trudeau?
00:02:32.840 You could have spoken up, he's over on the other side of the table with you, and you just go out in front of cameras when Justin Trudeau's not all around and say, like, Justin Trudeau and the Conservatives need to take the issue of housing more seriously.
00:02:45.720 What?
00:02:46.080 Here's another clip of him trying to attack Pierre Polyev because someone once donated to Pierre, and that means, I guess, Jagmeet's better on the issue of housing.
00:02:55.360 Pierre Polyev doesn't care about the cost of your rent, and I'll tell you why in 60 seconds.
00:02:59.940 Remember this video?
00:03:01.140 Pierre Polyev was really angry about this micro-unit, $2,000 a month, and he said this is so horrible.
00:03:06.500 Well, guess what?
00:03:07.720 It turns out that this building behind me that he complained about is actually owned by one of his biggest donors.
00:03:14.260 He's not going to take on corporate landlords.
00:03:16.280 He benefits from them, and he works for them.
00:03:18.380 He doesn't care about bringing down rent.
00:03:20.360 He cares about serving the corporate interests.
00:03:22.940 The corporate-controlled conservatives are in it for you.
00:03:25.580 New Democrats are.
00:03:26.420 We're going to build homes you can actually afford.
00:03:29.180 How is Jagmeet Singh going to build homes?
00:03:31.940 Is he going to get out there with his own NDP crew of people and start putting up houses?
00:03:36.500 Pierre Polyev's plan actually makes sense, that we're going to force municipalities to deregulate their home building sort of industries, make it so that they don't have as restrictive zoning laws, and that building codes are not so rigorous to follow, that no developer can build a home for less than a million dollars in some of these municipalities.
00:03:54.360 And also, who's been running, like, the Vancouver area for the past few decades?
00:04:00.980 It's always been NDP and liberal-type politicians who have been making those units cost $2,000.
00:04:07.620 You come to Calgary, and even with mayors like Nahid Nenshi and Jody Gondek, because our provincial government's actually pretty good, our housing does not cost nearly that much.
00:04:16.520 Still too much, because we still have restrictive zoning laws and really bad building codes, but still, it's way better.
00:04:23.780 But what's Jagmeet Singh going to do?
00:04:25.400 He keeps saying, well, we're going to – the NDP is going to build more affordable houses.
00:04:28.820 We'll force Justin Trudeau to put, like, a billion dollars towards affordable houses.
00:04:32.820 He could do it if he wanted.
00:04:34.280 He can basically just hold Justin Trudeau's feet to the fire and threaten an election if he doesn't do what he wants.
00:04:39.260 But Jagmeet Singh, frankly, sucks at politics, so he's terrible at actually getting his way.
00:04:43.940 Here's something else he posted to Twitter the other day.
00:04:46.580 It makes no sense based on the current position he's in.
00:04:49.640 So he said, in Edmonton and across the country, Canadians are uniting in our fight against corporate greed, lower grocery prices, homes you can afford, public health care when you need it.
00:05:00.000 The liberals and conservatives have favored the ultra-rich.
00:05:03.640 I'll be prime minister for the people.
00:05:05.900 Okay, one, Jagmeet, you're not going to be the prime minister.
00:05:08.900 This is something else that impresses me of Jagmeet.
00:05:11.060 The man is the biggest thing ever in his own mind.
00:05:13.940 While having absolutely no real impact on Canadian politics whatsoever.
00:05:19.500 And here's him just blaming other people for the things he did.
00:05:23.240 Justin Trudeau and Jagmeet Singh ran up a massive deficit in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023.
00:05:31.560 And just increased inflation massively with their out-of-control spending.
00:05:35.520 And now he's trying to blame, like, Galen, Weston, and Loblaws for having to respond to the fact that there's just way more dollars out there inflating what everything costs.
00:05:46.120 And they've responded by raising their prices as they should.
00:05:49.540 Every study shows that the grocery stores are not actually making more money on the groceries themselves.
00:05:55.140 Yes, he can point to Sobeys having a quarter where they made 33% more money than they did the previous year's third quarter or whatever.
00:06:02.740 That's because they had to sell an entire gas station chain in order to keep above water.
00:06:07.440 Jagmeet Singh doesn't know what he's talking about.
00:06:08.880 Like, what was the second point there?
00:06:10.320 Oh, homes you can afford.
00:06:11.580 Jagmeet, if you don't slow down immigration, how are any of these houses going to be affordable?
00:06:16.580 Unless the government's just going to mandate that you must sell a house or rent a unit at a specific price.
00:06:22.580 But all you're going to do is just get landlords to take their units off the market because it's not at all economical.
00:06:28.380 And they're just going to sell the building.
00:06:30.080 And if you try and cap what they can sell the building, they'll probably burn it down for insurance money.
00:06:34.720 This guy is just under the impression that if the NDP waves a magic wand over an issue, that somehow things will just be better.
00:06:41.740 If the government comes in and passes the right regulation or rule, basically we'll be in a utopia.
00:06:47.920 We just need him to write a bill that says everyone should be rich, happy, and be rich, happy, and married.
00:06:54.540 And somehow life will be better if Jagmeet Singh's NDP does that.
00:06:58.180 What was the third one there?
00:06:59.360 Public health care when you need it.
00:07:01.840 How are you going to get public health care when you need it?
00:07:04.620 If Jagmeet Singh is the same guy who thinks that we don't need to lower immigration,
00:07:08.760 are we just going to build like double the amount of hospitals we currently have?
00:07:13.340 We do not have the budget for that.
00:07:15.320 And how are you going to get the doctors to occupy those hospitals?
00:07:19.320 Health care is also a provincial issue.
00:07:21.140 So I don't know how he's going to do any of this stuff,
00:07:24.220 especially when he keeps feeding in too many people for the systems provincially to handle.
00:07:29.400 Jagmeet Singh is in la-la land.
00:07:32.040 He believes that in his own mind, if he dreams something happens, then it must be realistic for him to do.
00:07:38.920 The man knows he's never going to be the prime minister, and he just chirps from the outside,
00:07:43.580 pretending that he has no responsibility for the issues that we're currently experiencing.
00:07:47.880 If he wants to be prime minister, he could maybe pretend like he,
00:07:51.600 maybe he could act a little bit like it right now,
00:07:54.240 show some leadership and make life actually more affordable for people
00:07:58.040 in a way that doesn't involve just burning copious amounts of money,
00:08:01.880 pretending like he's helping.
00:08:03.500 Oh goodness, this guy is just the worst in politics.
00:08:08.320 Justin Trudeau is bad, I admit.
00:08:10.420 I hate Justin Trudeau.
00:08:12.120 Jagmeet Singh is like Justin Trudeau, minus the fact that he's prime minister.
00:08:16.880 So it would be like Justin Trudeau's very lecturing speeches,
00:08:21.260 but he doesn't even have the ability to put his money where his mouth is
00:08:24.600 and do any of the stuff he's saying he's going to do.
00:08:26.800 So Jagmeet Singh is still in fantasy land, Trudeau in 2013,
00:08:30.860 where I'm going to make life better for people,
00:08:33.360 but he doesn't have to prove it because he's not prime minister,
00:08:35.760 so he can just say whatever he wants.
00:08:38.020 Ugh.
00:08:38.780 Anyways, that should be it for me today.
00:08:40.620 I have my usual give-send-go link for the legal defense case
00:08:44.120 for the National Telegraph in the description below.
00:08:46.300 It's a give-send-go link.
00:08:48.120 We're being sued by a billionaire developer
00:08:50.060 because he doesn't know what defamation is,
00:08:52.460 and he's just suing us for defamation with no evidence,
00:08:54.800 despite everything that we said about him being said already by other people
00:08:59.320 and it all being true.
00:09:01.020 So if you want to donate to that,
00:09:02.560 the lawsuits already cost us $25,000 to defend ourselves.
00:09:05.940 Really would help out if you donate anything.
00:09:07.940 And then, again, I, Wyatt Claypool,
00:09:10.100 am running for the Calgary-Signal Hill Conservative Party nomination.
00:09:13.060 So if you live in this riding,
00:09:15.020 except for the green bar and bonus areas,
00:09:18.000 buy a membership and vote for me.
00:09:19.960 Those two areas are being cut out when boundaries change
00:09:22.820 because in April, Elections Canada is changing the boundaries
00:09:25.300 because Alberta is getting a few more seats, thankfully.
00:09:28.340 So if you live in the riding, buy a membership.
00:09:30.480 Let's make sure we don't have a bunch of pro-lockdown red Tories
00:09:33.300 representing strong blue ridings in Alberta.
00:09:36.900 Anyways, other than that,
00:09:37.940 I'll see you guys tomorrow with another video.
00:09:39.680 Thank you.
